Good evening all. Went to a Christmas dinner tonight that was really good.
Deb - saw you mentioned the Tracks on the burrowing owl cam. Wish we could catch him out & about.
Me, too, Jo. I had it open all day and didn't see any change after I noticed the tracks, so we will need to watch earlier.
Oh Man, I am dying ! What I missed today! I knew I should have asked if Ceil was leaving from DC !! I was in Martinsburg about the time the Capitol Limited would have gone through, and had she been on the side of the train facing the terminal, she might have fallen over to see the Magpie on the Platform jumping up and down !!

I am so excited about the Tundra Swans that Nature Nut saw today...just checked for pictures, and cannot find anything yet, of them nor the Eagle....maybe later? Or I am not looking in the right place...
I had Norfolk up early this morning and saw one, then two, then one, then none, then I checked out....
I cannot wait to grill NormaByrd about her upcoming visit to Shepherdstown for Christmas!
Maybe when Ceil returns, I can catch her on the flip flop and tell her to sit on the terminal side when coming through Martinsburg! That would be worth taking off work for ! It comes through around 11:35 AM, when it is on time....(which it often, IS NOT, but I can call the 800 number and check on the schedule. I would love that ! ♥
Hedgie: M the guy that the chopper was looking for (and I can't believe they could come out with the cloud cover...) had run from the police when they tried to pat him down, thought they felt a weapon in his pocket, and away bad guy went running on foot, and that was after about an hour of playing ring around the rosey with him about his identity...I got off work about the time the helicopter was due to get in the area....
Did anyone see the animal with the skinny tail on PIX PA besides me? I got a picture of it, but it is a lousy picture.

Man oh man, shopping with a little one, (grandson, who else??) - encouraging him to find some little gifties for others, can be a Real Challenge this time of the year...but we managed to pull it together, him and his Dad..AND we bought some cookies to put out for Santa.
I am way late in getting Christmas cards out, but found some real gems at K-Mart, so in a way I guess I am glad I am late getting to it....

I feel so bad for the homeless or nearly homeless, and those in ramshackle housing...it's a sad part of the holiday...

Mema Jo, I might have just jumped on that train! I could have gotten off at Cumberland, and had my brother in Frostburg put me up for the night and bring me home... ☺ ☺ or - gotten snowed in up there with him....! Not sure workplace would have liked that come 6 pm Sunday though....
I am certain without a doubt that it is an opossum in your picture. I saw him there one other evening rather late.
I put it on Nest Pictures, too, just now.
And I would love to have seen the Cat at Pix Pa...what were its colorings? We have seen two different ones there this year so far, on white and black, and one, mostly brown or something mottled...
lol Maybe it is an overgrown RAT that the cat was after earlier!!!

Yep, I say possum too...fat little thing, but they are one of the cleanest animals, according to my DNR calendar...

They were in and out all day at my feeders and the Okie feeders today. I finally figured out if I stand on my couch I can get a fairly good picture through the window.

I loved Glo's story about the lady at the shelter and the Peanut Butter Treats for Dex....what a special place and all that people there are.... and I agree, Santa does look like Lolly's Jack! I think Wanda mentioned that this morning...

Okay, just cruised through a few sites. I think that cat is the same one that Chrissy captured and sent around, but, that white under the neck, I don't remember seeing on her picture...

No, just sounded like something very close to the mic, still making some noises now but not as loud...kind of sounded like something landed....
Something is still messing around up there...
I hear Geese....could be tundras...cannot tell for sure, maybe just Canada Geese, straining my eardrums, volume is up high as it will go..
FYI - Puleston site has a couple of neat additions, one of a red-winged blackbird hitchiking on the back of a hawk, and another pictorial and story about gulls and some ducks and things in Vancouver, BC. Some really neat stuff there...

Okay I wasn't going to do this, (come back on ) but I wanted to share a little treasure with you.
Grandson, his father and I wolf down some chow at Burger King after shopping, he has his usual dozen chicken nuggets. Totally without provocation after eating, he goes to the counter, and tells the first guy he sees what good cooks they are! It put a big smile on the young counter attendant's face, and he wished James a hearty Merry Christmas! I try not to go on and on about the grandson, but, sometimes I can't resist. He is such a blessing in my life.
Okay, now I can go to sleep. With a couple of handfuls of prayers...

I can tell you this much....I have been up and down all night, and when I looked in at 3 AM, this bird was not there...

I just assumed it was Belle..'cause mothers do that kind of thing, keep the nest warm and all...she or he has only moved around a little bit, so I could not really tell....

Maybe he/she is showing ownership of that nest...Must mean they are thinking very strongly about a NEW FAMILY. Sooooo exciting!
Second eagle made a noisy arrival in Maine and pretty much chased the first one off the nest...that is NOT playing nice! Blogger Cop is awake too...
And it is snowing and blowing at Maine, and I hear a noise at our microphone...

The Maine nest is beautiful, but empty for now.
I saw a nice bunny rabbit at RHDC - couldn't get a screen grab on that one either...that was about an hour ago...
I did see the female Pheasant in Scotland this morning, Wanda, she was beautiful !
I can't tell if there is ice on my car..too far away, but I will be sure to call GeeGee and tell her to stay put today. No church for her or us either if the roads are icy. I don't do ice!
