It is good to see everyone on here. It means you have power. I got up at about 6:30 to see if Hunter would be staying with me, but Kathryn's boss decided to close the shop, so Hunter's with his mom. I expect Tommy is there too. He drives a company vehicle and they don't want him wrecking it.
I fed George and crawled back into bed. Eventually, George got worried about me and came meowing and bugging me.
I do hope Margy doesn't have to work today.
Tom and Kathryn were going to try to get some firewood today. I would love to have some, too, but I cannot imagine how I could have it delivered. Short of sawing down a tree, they aren't likely to get firewood today, either.
I see little birds going into my birdhouse. I guess they are just sheltering there. I remember someone remarked at the end of last summer that if I put it up, it would be ready for the coming summer. Well, I did put it up, and it's protecting birds now. Nice. One place the pesky starlings cannot go!
Now I need to go buy some more birdhouses--when I can get to the store.
Shirley sounds good for the family, all staying home together Glad you have George to keep you company I wish I could bring you some firewood. would be just little sticks I'm afraid
I sure think Belle and Liberty are hanging tough...amazing how they work together.... a work of wildlife art
Thanks for the firewood thought, Margy. I will order some when I can get it--I will have it for next winter at least. Better to be prepared. Sometimes I think I should have a little woodstove where my pretty fireplace is. Of course, I might just consider getting a gas fireplace. That would be nice, too.
Need to get dressed up like Ralphie now and go sling some snow
Put some pictures on the EM album, remember some are out of order for now....night and day pics mixed together a little
Best wishes, for all safety today... back in awhile... everyone, make sure you have your cell phones charged up and with you at all times if you have them, watch they don't get wet when snow gets in your pockets.
Especially, Judie and Ceil, keep your CELL PHONES ready ☺
That is such sad news about Capt. Phil. Thanks for letting us know, Mits. RIP, Phil. Wonder if Josh and Jake will keep the business going? Probably not.
Ceil, so relieved that Jim is in---I tried to post a message about it earlier, but blogger cop ate it.
Love poached eggs and toast, Mits!
Be careful, Margy!
Perserverance is an interesting way to look at it, Paula!! Megan, I'm with you!
Still trying to find out if SIL tried to come home from Alexandria area when his shift ended at 7, or if he stayed on station (hoping), but he's not answering my texts.
Paula, I forgot to answer your question about 5 dogs and snow. We have a run in the front yard and normally when it is the nastiest out there, they wrap around the tree and we have to go unwrap them. Otherwise, Mopsy and Scooby go out wandering the neighborhood and the other 3 boys only wish they could!
Power companies in DC area are calling their crews in off the road. Bad news for customers, but have to feel for those guys and gals trying to work out there.
Darn... I didn't know Phil died, how sad. Gotta go shovel off MIL's porch, wind is blowing snow in on firewood. It's always something... But hey, we still have power:) and you know I love electricity!
Snow Angel Megan.... wear some blaze orange... I have some on
Hedgie: guess who operates the snow plow for the parking lot here: Chief 40! He and another good pal rang me up on the phone at 12:30 this morning to tell me they were out in my parking lot...went to door to say "Hi" - He's going to need to come back soon...
bbWhenever as Jo says
breakfast at the nest over, sweet lady back on the nest cup (I guess it is Belle...)
My next door neighbor was out shoveling our snow at midnight last Friday. He has already cleared the driveway this morning. He never wants cash but I think a gift card will be coming his way...or do you think I should just give him $$ and insist?
No time to read the blog. Just checking the nest (SAD) and just peeking in to say "Good Morning". have to leave for the doctors soon. Slept in as I took a muscle relaxer yesterday.☺ Just a knot that hurts between the shoulder blades. Better this morn.
Hello all of you out there in the whiteness and then those in CA, TX, FL and anywhere else you All may be! All my family are in their homes and from what I have read all my friends are also. Blizzard! Thankful for you remarks concerning Lib & Belle.
Hey y'all. I saw that about Phil - sad. My husband loves that show.
Here's a happy dog story if you haven't heard about it :)

Stay safe and warm and be careful if you have to go out. I lived in New England for a few years and was too wimpy for that cold weather and came back to Texas!
Just popping in to say thanks for the nice welcome and the advice in yesterday's thread. Alas, the web cam still is not working for me. I upgraded my Flash player and restarted the computer, but it made no difference. I'm going to see if I can contact the web administrator at My Outdoor TV; hopefully they can help. he roof of a building at the famous Smithsonian museum in Baltimore has collapsed, reports say.

Well crud, snowing harder again, piling upon gh, bbl...after sweeping gh and bringing in firewood for MIL- snow is blowing onto it. I'm tired...but I'll have a mimosa later:)
MORNIN' MEMA JO!---I was on much earlier this am---Been out a couple of times to feed birds!!---The wind has finally stopped--ALL SCHOOLS IN WV are closed!---My heart hurts for BELLE!---bless her heart!!
SIL Shannon made it home from work safely. Praise the Lord. Wasn't easy....took him 2 1/2 hrs., which is still pretty good, considering having to come up over the mountain from Leesburg. He said Beltway itself wasn't too bad, but he said on the Greenwya or whatever it's called, it was a blackout......very eerie.
See evidence that a deer walked up (plowed up) under the deck during the night. Poor thing wouldn't have found any food there, but at least shelter for as long as (s)he stayed.
Just finished reading earlier comments. NormaByrd - happy you are back in the house from feeding the birds. Was going to put an alarm out for the Frozen Lady Feeding the Birds....
Ceil keep Jim in the house - tie him down if you have to....
The garland, I believe, is stuck in my deceased washer.
Oh my, was too fearful after joking about Ceil's husband and then reading about someone named Phil -- do truly hope that's not Ceil's hubby. Well, RIP whomever you are, Phil.
Just spent two hours regrouping my course work and exam schedule. Sent emails to the students. Likely won't get out tomorrow so hopefully GW will cancel classes again.
Cancelled classes almost never ever happen. Law students sued for tuition reimbursement when classes were canceled during the 1976(?) blizzard. Students won.
Hope Lynne's shoulder is better today.
Megan, so sorry about all the gh work clearing snow.
Shirley, know the birds appreciate the bird houses.
Jo, you're right. Schools, ALL schools, need to be closed. Way too dangerous to be outside.
Going to check on the nest and then back to reworking lectures.
The roof of a building at the famous Smithsonian museum in Baltimore has collapsed, reports say.
The roof of a building hosing part of the Garber Centre, which stores valuable Smithsonian artifacts collapsed Wednesday morning February 10 2010, said the reports. The collapse came in the midst of one of the worst snow storms in memory.
Firefighters in the area responded at 6:49 AM to investigate the collapse and shut off electricity and natural gas to the warehouse eliminating any consequences involving those utilities.
The damage was done to warehouse #21 at the Garber Facility. It is unknown what, if any, artifacts are affected by this roof collapse. There were no reported injures.
The Smithsonian building that collapsed was actually an off site complex, but none the less stored artifacts belonging to the highly recognized Smithsonian museum.
The Smithsonian museum released a statement saying all of its properties would be closed Wednesday due to the building collapse.
The institute said all Smithsonian museums, including the National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall and the Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA will be closed Wednesday, February 10.
A February 13 weekend Family Day at Smithsonian has been rescheduled for February 27.
According to the Smithsonian web site: The Paul E. Garber Preservation, Restoration, and Storage Facility, located in Suitland, Md. is where the National Air and Space Museum preserves and stores aircraft, spacecraft, and other artifacts, and restores these artifacts to represent a specific period in their history.
The facility is a no-frills assembly of about 32 metal buildings belonging to the National Air and Space Museum and other Smithsonian organizations. About 19 buildings store airplanes, spacecraft, engines, and various parts. One building is devoted to a large restoration shop and 3 buildings are for exhibition production.
Our schools let out here in Dare Co. on the Outer Banks at 22:30. High winds were causing the sound to flood over quite a few of the roads down here. I haven't seen the water this bad in a long time either. I was glad Ihat my Ford Escape which is higher than a car, or I wouldn't have been able to get home todaoy.
Glad to hear that the eagles are eating. I turned on the cam and couldn't believe the wind there. Tears welled up in my eyes at the thought of them having to be out there in that.
Judie, Capt. Phil was a crab boat captain in Alaska, featured on the show Deadliest Catch that alot of us watch every year on Discovery Channel. He had a stroke last week and passed yesterday. He was only 53.
I hope Megan and her hubby are doing ok with their greenhouse. That is such a shame and hopefully they will be able to keep ahead of the snow and save it.
My husband just left for the fire station down our road, where they needed man power. They are also afraid of a lot of trees coming down because we have had a huge amount of rain and the wind will be gusting up to 60 mph.
Hey gang. I haven't checked in for a couple of days, because last weekend was just too depressing. Is poor Belle now sitting on another egg? She needs to get a better connecton with the weatherman! 13" at my house and still snowing.
Checking in. Just haven't had the heart or courage once i knew egg 3 was here and so was the storm. Bless their hearts. I will not open the cam but will continue to read. Magpie and Hedgie No problems here from earthquake although it was felt by some around 4 am as close as like 8 miles from me. So glad I didn't know I had much trouble sleeping last night anyway. My heart is in a sycamore tree. I sort of wan tit back but it won't come.
I needed to read up on all of you especially after Megans post on FB this morning too. Was afraid she lost her greenhouse. Its just tough times. We are very cold and very snow in but the sun in shining. I need to go shovel the driveway as plow has plowed end of it back in overnight and I have drifts up against garage door. I am grateful that the plow did come through though. I will get out of here tomorrow hopefully. Going to eat some lunch now. I will be back after 7 to read that the snow has stopped. Glad to read Belle had some lunch. What an awesome pair of birds. What a rotten winter they are having too.
We have about a foot maybe a little more. Thank God the electric is still on.
Daisy has gone insane. I'm going to tie a long clothesline on her later and take her out so she can run and leap where I can't go in the 10ft leash.
I-83 closed both directions at MD/PA line.
Baltimore City has Phase 3 snow plan in effect...no one allowed on the roads except emergency responders. Snow plows have been instructed to stand still.
Steve is really bored, he is now reading my Oprah magazine.....this is BAD!
My FB is working okay today, even tho' I still don't like the new format! Carolyn went in and fixed some settings for me. I told Sharon yesterday...so now I'll tell you all---got a friend request yesterday from my ex. I asked Shar whetheer I could block him from seeing stuff if I accepted. After some thought and Carolyn fixing some settings, I accepted him.....guess the ice has to thaw at some point.
Sharon apparently IS on her way to Bluefield---she posted a lovely pic on FB of blue skies and wet but clear roads!
Hi all Eagleland people. Especially to all in this frozen whiteout. Wanted to check in to let you all know me and Little Man are hanging in there. After yesterdays trip to pharmacy. Left when I told you all I did. Dr. called in a "moisturizer cream" over counter instead of the Methylprednisolone pack. I had to travel I 81 into Martinsburg. Wait 2 hrs. in snow (Praying God get me home after this please). Seen doctor and he was shocked at the rash had spread and was so bad. Duh of course now he write script for the doze pack. I head home to a pharmacy near me. Got there got script and got home--then had to shovel cause no place for the little fellow to go potty. Was I plenty tired and hurting. Oh yea forgot to tell you made it all the way down the ramp to the car. Two steps toward car and fellow for 2nd or 3rd (losing count) on my knee replacement and then of course. Flat out of the ground trying to figure out how to get up. Knee hurts, back and neck hurt and now that twisted my left ankle. It's is black and not pretty. Elevate and ice pack. I have to LAUGH "ice pack) just go out and stick it in the snow.
Best Part Is God Got me the prescription and Safely Got Me Home! He will heal the rest.
I have to read back on over thread. Need to check on you all too. BE SAFE CEIL Us Gorallia Tape and Tape JIM to a chair!!!!!!!
Dana Glad you have your medicine. I do so understand aobut the shoveling for Little Man. Dex hates the snow up to his belly which is where it is at well more than that again. We do have quite a time getting "his business" accomplished. I almost always take my cell phone out with me when I am out int he weather with Dex just in case I do fall and can't get up. Dex and I would both need help then. Do be careful. Its a bad winter for sure. Take the shovel stuff a little at a time or if you don't need anything ot get out for today stay in and take care of yourself and Little man. The rest will be there tomorrow or whenever. OK off to shovel some here now.
there is a chipping sparrow out here at my feeder. This is very weird...they are summer birds here! There is only one, I'm trying to get a picture of him.
DANA! Oh my goodness, you sure are having a bad time of it...please take care, Ok?
Dana I am thankful you came in to say you were doing fairly well - except for the bumps and bruises! Please take care - Maybe by spring this snow will be gone!
OK! I am all cleaned up but haven't had any offers to go out to dinner yet!
BBILW Going to put feet up after eating a late lunch!
Dana...I am sorry about the slipping and sliding and flopping hope that all will be okay
Lynne2 give Steve your Birds & Blooms magazines !
afraid I am missing a lot by not being on facebook, read where even Mits is facebooking ?? but after your description of the quirks last night not sure I am sorry I am missing the aggravation.
Oh, THAT Phil. Thanks, Lynn. Was concerned about Ceil's future.
Well, I am NOT going to even think about being with the wannabe adults tomorrow. It is really bad here. Someone, very important, no doubt, tried to get down the street and had to abandon his car pointed in the wrong direction. Stuuuuupid!
Washer update: Darth made serious repairs but now there is a leak. Well, nothing like a new washer and dryer soon.
No, No Ceil. Better to use an eagle cane. Can claim self-defense. Gorilla tape would be a dead give-away.
Dana, so glad you got everything taken care of but was worried about the fall -- until you made me ROFLMBO imagining you with your leg stuck out in the snow. So good you have a sense of humor and Little Man.
Jo, PLEASE plan on eating in! This is not fit weather for woman or beast!
Dana, so sorry you fell and had such a run-around, BUT...good that doc HAD to look at it! Be careful. Remember RICE for your ankle: rest, ice, compression, elevation. Christie twisted hers badly Monday evening. Gave her the same advice.
Yep, Lynne....strange. Craziest thing is that he had told Christie that he would never join! And then he does, and invites me and Carolyn, but NOT Chris----she was a little hurt, to say the least. Maybe he didn't want to eat crow with her!
I'm watching the shows, Lynne. I still have my antenna and bought a converter box, and Ch. 9 is carrying the shows on their usually weather-only channel!!
Lynne, had sparrows outside yesterday eating what seeds I was able to throw outside. Otherwise, really quiet with the critters. Five squirrels yesterday. No customers so far today.
Over-the-air is nice as an adjunct----if too many conflicts on TV, I can always tape off it onto VCR while recording/watching 2 other things on DirecTV!
Sun--that bright shiny thing that we sometimes see around here. Actually blinding on the snow right now. Plenty of clouds too. Might not have sun for long.
Margy and Hedgie I had to be on Edwin Miller Blvd. yesterday. That road is chucks of ice frozen. Your wheel has to partly go up on it and then tries to slide you into another car. They were speeding on there too-------STOPPED!!! LOL But it was very very truly a dangerous road to have been on.
I told God if I wasn't digging and making my legs and arms bleed I would not be out here.
Margy---if you are reading---all kinds of trouble on Ridge Rd. S as far as impassable goes.....that was where we lived for 15 yrs. Once bro-in-law went to work for state road as mechanic, and Kelly Lowry was working for Gov whoever-it-was back then, we never had toruble getting in and out!! But have seen pics from the 60's when ex and family would dig people out with tractors where drifts were higher than a house!
remember this number Dana: 304-263-1345 office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, also remember Bedington Fire Dept's numbers... they might be able to help, or maybe could have made trip for you. Thinking of y♥u
also other Berkeley Co residents remember the first number
Coming home in such awful conditions is much better than going out. Glad you got safely back. When are you scheduled to work again?
I am wondering how high the piles of snow are going to be around my parking lot at school. I remember one winter--probably 1996--when the snow piles were so high that I could not get down once I'd climbed up with my bags and stuff. A middle school boy came over and helped me. How sweet! When I got to the building, I found out that a teacher had sent him. It was still sweet. On both their parts.
know Glo said she won't be back until 7 pm but am glad the earthquake did not present a problem Glo, we will be happy to see your next round of Glo's Glimpses when you can get out to get them Snow seems to be barely falling if not stopped, just blowing around what has already fallen
continued miracle wishes for Megan and the greenhouse
Dragging in here late today. Have no school tonight, so slept in. Felt really good. Good to see that Belle is hanging in there, and I'm really happy that she's been eating! Can't imagine how much food it takes to keep warm enough in this kind of weather! My heart's at the nest, too, I'm afraid.
Dana, glad you got your meds for the rash, but so sorry about your ankle! Hope it's better real soon--many prayers being said about that! It's great that you have Little Man to keep you company! (((HUGS))) for both of you!
I am absolutely amazed~~we have at least one Night Heron back in our huge Ficus tree, and just a few minutes ago, I heard our Cooper's Hawk calling out front!!! The rain has stopped, and the sun's out. Hope the gardeners show up, and if they do, hope the yard is not too soggy to mow!
It's pretty cold here today, in spite of the sun. Only up to about 50 so far. Gosh, I have a big plastic tub out back that got totally filled with rain water--so heavy I can't budge it. Need to get rid of the water in it so we don't get skeeters! Maybe the gardeners can dump it out...
Well, have a LOT of reading to do to prepare for Thurs. night's final exam. Better get back to it. Take care, everyone, and stay in where it's warm! Later, alligators... :o]
Margy my neighbors dil was leaving for Hawaii today. We just had a plow go up our street Everyone is at their doors looking out. Cannot believe it. We are usually the last and they have been keeping up with our street Go figure
now we have a rufous sided towhee at the feeder!! That's 3 rare birds at the feeder in the last 2 days! I can't get any good pictures because of the screen and the snow sticking to the window...
Lynn, I have a converter box too....only in this house there is no antenna :( You'll have to let me know if anything exciting happens today! That sucks that your ex didn't friend Chirs....
Glad is has slowed down or stopped for some of you, you too Andy, with the rain, but here it's snowing harder than ever. UGH. We aren't even going to try to go out to shovel til it slows down. Too much blowing around.
Steve IS going to read Birds and Blooms, right after he watches Bonanza!
Hi everyone. Hope you're keeping warm and dry. It's official! We're in a blizzard here in the Susquehanna Valley. Brrrrr.
Even with all the work we did on this old house by insulating floor to attic, it's still cold! Most of our windows are covered with the blowing snow so can't see out unless I go upstairs and find a window the wind doesn't hit. Just horrible. The bird feeders are covered with snow and we can't reach them because of a 4 ft. drift and the doves are in the corner of our porch trying to stay out of the weather. God bless them!
And poor Lib & Belle. They're just not in Mother Nature's favor right now. Pray this 3rd egg will survive, but if not, then another clutch. They are both so determined you have to admire them.

Thanks for the new thread, Steve. We sure filled up that one yesterday in short order. :~D>

Man, that wind is blowing at the nest. I think Belle is further down in the snow than before. I guess that protects both her and the egg.
I wonder...if Glo is affected by the earthquake...and maybe even Just Vicky...?
Glo...
thinking of you, hope all is okay
Read where you are pretty much snowed in too...
(( hugs ♥ ))
My Live feed has been pretty good!
Today's word is perseverance!
Hello again!
Well that's not the word I was using, but okay...
Winds are really gusting here, 15 to 23 mph. Snow is still light.
Has it stopped snowing at the nest?
Hope so that would be one good thing.
Verizon is giving me a fit right now.
Thanks for the firewood thought, Margy. I will order some when I can get it--I will have it for next winter at least. Better to be prepared. Jim took his cell phone but forgot to turn it on.
Atlanta zoo said the Mei is doing better.
ah, that's good, that she is doing better....
If you go for sunny and warm Ceil you might have to change your avatar
Belle just raised her head and is looking for something. Food I guess.
off to fix some poached eggs and toast...bbl
Lib just floated in with food!
Our cams are doing amazingly well with the lousy weather
Go NCTC and Outdoor Channel folks !
Yep Lib brought in a bird I think
Belle jumped up and grabbed it...thinking catfish?
Is Lib Da Man, or what? ♥
Paula I am not good I thought it was a starling
crunch and munch time!
Belle eating now. It looks like the egg cup is still free of snow. Don't want to get hopes up, though.
Good to see her eating.
That is such sad news about Capt. Phil. Thanks for letting us know, Mits.

Doors are frozen on Blazer. Guess I'll have to get out the hair dryer. Shd have been at work at 8:30. Oooops
Our eagles perservere don't they. I think it was a catfish just consumed. Hope Belle hunkers down real far to stay out of that wind.

Suit and heels off... Flannel lined jeans and Rockys on. Where's the hair dryer... Out to thaw the doors
Still snowing here too. This bad weather can really complicate our lives can't it?
My next door neighbor was out shoveling our snow at midnight last Friday. He has already cleared the driveway this morning. He never wants cash but I think a gift card will be coming his way...or do you think I should just give him $$ and insist?
No time to read the blog. Just checking the nest (SAD) and just peeking in to say "Good Morning". have to leave for the doctors soon. Slept in as I took a muscle relaxer yesterday.☺ Just a knot that hurts between the shoulder blades. Better this morn.

Thankful for you remarks concerning Lib & Belle.
Ceil how do you always hit that #1 blog? lol
Grannyblt. Go with gift card. That's one great neighbor!
Hey y'all. I saw that about Phil - sad. My husband loves that show.
Here's a happy dog story if you haven't heard about it :)

Stay safe and warm and be careful if you have to go out. I lived in New England for a few years and was too wimpy for that cold weather and came back to Texas!
Fingers crossed for our eagles.

good idea, Blondiegirl, maybe they can help
Baltimore is in Phase 3 Never heard of it. No one on the streets in vehicles except emergency workers. Fine with me.
I just got that alert, Ceil, never heard of it either.....maybe they can ticket the dummies who are going out for a cup of coffee, just to say look at me....I'm out and about...idiots
These are some interesting pics of Shepherdstown after the storm that we had last weekend, from the Chronicle newspaper blizzard 2010
looking at the different radars, if this were summer ,this would be a tropical storm.
And would it come with tropical drinks?
Hey Jo, Washington County just announced school is canceled until next Tuesday.
Blondie we are on Outdoor Channel this year not my outdoor tv Is that the problem?

Report: A roof at a Smithsonian building has collapsed.
yes, Megan, any kind you want....which Smithsonian bldg., Sharon....?
good catch, sister, maybe that is Blondie's problem.
Jo I just seem to get on lately when we get a new thread
he roof of a building at the famous Smithsonian museum in Baltimore has collapsed, reports say.
The roof of a building housing part of the Garber Centre, which stores valuable Smithsonian artifacts collapsed Wednesday morning February 10 2010, said the reports. The collapse came in the midst of one of the worst snow storms in memory.
Our anniversary meal was chili, cornbread and cake from my neighbor and champagne. Strange but good.
ah, thank you Megan, sounds good to me Ceil....
The last big storm we lost the round house at the B&O train museum
Hey, we can have frozen tropical drinks today, LOL
yummmmmy, I have the mojito mix
Finally got the dogs back in, Nugz managed to dig up a frozen tennis ball...
I remember that Ceil ,they did re-open it again didn't they?
It said they are not sure what building yet, trying to verify report.
lol.....Paula, Ceil sent me a video of a dog yesterday, that dug a snow cave, went in and did not want to come back out
As for school closings - someone is using their 'smarts' Hope the majority of parents are also homebound
Well crud, snowing harder again, piling upon gh, bbl...after sweeping gh and bringing in firewood for MIL- snow is blowing onto it.
I'm tired...but I'll have a mimosa later:)
Yes B&O museum reopened. Have not seen anything about the collapse
Paula that is cute. He wanted his ball
I best go back to earlier thread
Don't see a lot of those normally here
Need to check on Lynne's roof!
And I need to check on Norma's newspaper!
just put cam back up, eagle looks like a seagull
MORNIN' MEMA JO!---I was on much earlier this am---Been out a couple of times to feed birds!!---The wind has finally stopped--ALL SCHOOLS IN WV are closed!---My heart hurts for BELLE!---bless her heart!!
JO!---Don't worry about my newspapers!----I have at least 8 to read!---ho!---stay warm!
PAULA--I am proud of LIB too!---I used to think he only thought of himself!---WHOA!---He has been making certain BELLE has food!!
wind howling at nest now....
Oh, my....wonder which bldg. at the Smithsonian.....haven't heard it on the news, unless it was when I was putting wood on the fire....
Margy, so nice for you to have good pals!!
Hello everyone just coming on!
MEGAN---COOL AVATAR!
They are still saying this will end by 7---maybe earlier here.....sure hope so. Totally ridiculous.
Just finished reading earlier comments.
NormaByrd - happy you are back in the house from feeding the birds. Was going to put an alarm out for the
Frozen Lady Feeding the Birds....
Ceil keep Jim in the house - tie him down if you have to....
Found the collapse of the building. Suitland MD Think all the artifacts are okay
Going to go wash my hair just in case any company comes here today!
Jo he has two choices die with a heart attack or I will murder him.
MEGAN!--Where did you find the info about the collapse at the SMITHSONIAN?
I don't think anyone said anything about a switch, but that sure looks like LIB TO ME
Thanks for the information, Mits.
I don't know, maybe it's just the angle...
I think it looks like a seagull
LOL, I've thought the same Mits, with that snow on the eagles back
Thanks MEGAN!---Enjoyed the SHEPHERDSTOWN PICS!---I have eaten at the '3 ONIONS'---good food!
O'MALLEY------TRAVEL ALERT!!---STAY OFF THE ROADS---BLIZZARD CONDITIONS IN EVERY PART OF MD!!--STAY AT HOME FOR DURATION OF SNOW!
Hello to everyone on here today. Glad to hear you are all safe and warm and in your nests. I have never seen anything ike this in a long time.
Loved the Chronicle pics. S'town is such a pretty town.
Temp is 16 here...has fallen 3 degrees since I got up.
Thanks MITS!---I thought the info on SMITHSONAIN came from MEGAN!
Glad to hear that the eagles are eating. I turned on the cam and couldn't believe the wind there. Tears welled up in my eyes at the thought of them having to be out there in that.
Good detailed report, Mits. Thanks.
Judie, Capt. Phil was a crab boat captain in Alaska, featured on the show Deadliest Catch that alot of us watch every year on Discovery Channel. He had a stroke last week and passed yesterday. He was only 53.
Norma, Megan did report where it had happened...I just printed whole story.
I hope Megan and her hubby are doing ok with their greenhouse. That is such a shame and hopefully they will be able to keep ahead of the snow and save it.
going to do some chores...bbl, if they is electricity....feel like
I'm living in an igloo, can't see out windows for all the snow cover.
I am on my own today---must go change sheets on my bed!!---WOW! I think the SUN is shining??
Good day for a grilled cheese sammich---on the griddle now.
My husband just left for the fire station down our road, where they needed man power. They are also afraid of a lot of trees coming down because we have had a huge amount of rain and the wind will be gusting up to 60 mph.
Grilled cheese sounds good to me too. Lunch here I come.
Judie, bet the enrollment paperwork now states that there will be no tuition refund in the event of cancelled classes!!!
Forgot to add my thought about the Chicago area earthquake.....the whole world is going crazy from a meteorologic aspect.
Hey gang. I haven't checked in for a couple of days, because last weekend was just too depressing. Is poor Belle now sitting on another egg? She needs to get a better connecton with the weatherman! 13" at my house and still snowing.
grilled cheese - I WISH!
no cheese but plenty of ice cream.
neighbor lady needs groceries...raiding my cuboards instead
made it out to the main road, can go (to work ONLY) if I have to
back in awhile to try to catch up
I know there is important stuff on here since I last read posts...
I care...know that for sure, just not caught up on all that needs caring for..
although, Liberty and Belle for sure, that is constant.....
xo
It's only 17≈ here now, still heavy snow, hard to see out there when the wind gusts.
Sad story:
Tears for a Crocodile
What a rotten winter they are having too.
wow what a day....our poor eagles...
Roof still holding!
OMG- he's reading O magazine...call the paramedics, blizzarditis has obviously set in...
the least they could do would be to put the stories on if I have to be stuck inside but NOOOOOOO....let's all watch MORE snow coverage. blah blah blah
Looks like just a touch of snow at Norfolk
BWE - hunkered down
Day 36 at Carolina Raptor cam for the first egg...
My FB is working good today to...shhhh
OK, he put the magazine down, and is now cleaning paw prints off the kitchen door windows. That's my man!
Still snowing here....CH 4 says it will snow till 10pm
My FB seems to be doing better today finally. Lynn, so odd that your ex sent a friend request!
LOL, Lynne---there HAS to be better reading material for him than that!
Glo, glad you didn't feel the quake! Be careful shoveling.
Good for MD. I think anybody who is caught driving in this who isn't EMS, firefighter, police or medical person should be ticketed!
BE SAFE
CEIL Us Gorallia Tape and Tape JIM to a chair!!!!!!!
Amend that to include municipal/state plowers and utility workers!
Just went back 2 comments - Well Lynne and Lynn that was interesting. Hedgie did you "allow"?
Just read about our dear sweet Sandra's porch and telephone...prayers that things can be repaired easily. Prayers for her and Tom too.
Sun is shining here, at least for the moment.
Take care, Dana.
even the weather channal can't get thru Weather on the 8's without going staticky
I like this : "Call ahead and check airline schedules before leaving for the airport."
Who in the H%#$ is going to even try or be allowed to
Oh, THAT Phil.
BBL
need to backtrack and catch up
find out who got where or got home and how Megan's green house is
Glo -all our hearts are joined at the Sycamore Palace ♥
Eagle up and shaking off....big pretty stretch! That is Belle
oh shake off
would rather see a pine sprig than a snow blob on her poor little back
Jo, PLEASE plan on eating in!
I'm wondering how many birds are in my birdhouse.
Sun? what's dat?
Lynne, had sparrows outside yesterday eating what seeds I was able to throw outside. Otherwise, really quiet with the critters. Five squirrels yesterday. No customers so far today.
gonna need to put rocks in our pockets if we go out in 50mph gusts
Over-the-air is nice as an adjunct----if too many conflicts on TV, I can always tape off it onto VCR while recording/watching 2 other things on DirecTV!
Dana - take care! Put the ankle up! So sorry for you!
LOL
But it was very very truly a dangerous road to have been on.
I told God if I wasn't digging and making my legs and arms bleed I would not be out here.
Shirley - sun? Did you leave town or are you delusional
lol dont really mean that
I'm kinda snow blind right now with NO sun here
Even with the volume turned down, that wind at the nest sends cold chills down my spine. Of course, I also have wind here.
Hedgie - I am not the least bit serious about Dinner Out...... was
just making a funny....... lol
BBILW
Margy---if you are reading---all kinds of trouble on Ridge Rd. S as far as impassable goes.....that was where we lived for 15 yrs. Once bro-in-law went to work for state road as mechanic, and Kelly Lowry was working for Gov whoever-it-was back then, we never had toruble getting in and out!! But have seen pics from the 60's when ex and family would dig people out with tractors where drifts were higher than a house!
remember this number Dana:
304-263-1345
office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, also remember
Bedington Fire Dept's numbers...
they might be able to help, or maybe could have made trip for you.
Thinking of y♥u
also other Berkeley Co residents remember the first number
Hedgie sorry about Christie's ankle :(
That medication you got, Dana. I am almost sure it is the same thing I got once and it was wonderful.
I had fun driving on the snow covered ice last night
BECAUSE
I was coming home and not going OUT
Lynn, hope Christie is better.
I ate out Mon and Tues
at the office
took food for everyone
oatmeal creme pies all gone
also my Valentine's candy
wonder why doctors are so darn dense sometimes !!!
We are tucked in here Margy. Not going any place. I think med is working sh sh (I haven't scratched once today)...notice I quietly said that.
my migraine medications came in the mail Saturday, and Monday
good timing
not really a big problem anymore like it used to be
back in the 60's I enjoyed being snowed in at the VA Center, where we lived
no one had to go anywhere
Ok Dana...hope you enjoy roosting at your roost...itch-free I hope
sh sh sh I didn't say that
xo
Margy--
Coming home in such awful conditions is much better than going out.
I guess starlings have to eat too.
Heard from 2 other people yesterday about how bad Edwin Miller was, Dana! Very dangeorus, for sure.
Nice info and pics from Carolina Raptor Center about previous eaglets hatched there
Slideshow & info Carolina Raptor Center
Shirley
I can picture what you describe.
Nice of the teacher, and the middle school student
thoughful, sometimes rare these days
Wonder what home-schooling parents are doing ?? do they take snow days ??
BW cams are stuck
Wildcam pic is stuck too for BWE
know Glo said she won't be back until 7 pm
but am glad the earthquake did not present a problem
Glo, we will be happy to see your next round of Glo's Glimpses when you can get out to get them
Snow seems to be barely falling if not stopped, just blowing around what has already fallen
continued miracle wishes for Megan and the greenhouse
Hi, Everyone,
Dragging in here late today.
:o]
Ceil and Judie won't be arrested or incarcerated today because travel is restricted...
Glad Jimmy made it back in...
remind him the cell phone needs to be "on" ...
he would discover that if he had to call out on it ☺
Mits. You have been wanting a mojito for two days. Girl, just do it. Let today be the day and please have one for me.
glad to hear there is some feathered wildlife AND SUN at your place Andy... glad you're off today and hope that Thurs's test goes well
looks like Texas is going to get a sloppy mess and also parts of Alabama, which reminds me it is about time for RED to pop on here
also hope that Lolly gets relief from earlier mentioned discomfort
and also LYNNE2
Candy
nice to see you here today too
hope the kids' valentines got completed and that weather will be okay there too
Snow has almost stopped and sun is coming out here!!! Yippee! AMEN.
having a major incurable
case of
"no-grandson-itis" going on here, need to make a phone call at least
bbl
Margy my neighbors dil was leaving for Hawaii today.
We just had a plow go up our street Everyone is at their doors looking out. Cannot believe it. We are usually the last and they have been keeping up with our street Go figure
Going to take a panda nap
now we have a rufous sided towhee at the feeder!!
Oh by the way Lynne I like your avatar, especially the sun part ☼
Kind of hard to imagine worrying about mosquitoes right now.
Lady Valmont is in the nest box at Colorado

she would be happy to see that Lynne
ttfn need to use the phone
xo
Cabin fever is setting in...gonna go out and refill the feeders...get some shoveling done.
They are both so determined you have to admire them.
... later
