I feel so sorry for Belle and Lib. Maybe they can hold off laying a new egg until after the snow melts. They are not protecting the fluff they brought in.
Feel sorry foir you guys too!
I am off now to eat some breakfast and maybe even do some housework. I am cold, need to get up and move around.
It is snowing here now, and it's laying on the roads. Just got back from Sheptown. The roads are a nightmare. Snow and ice covered most places. Got kero and food. Sandra's front porch roof looks like it's having snow issues:(
Shirley, usually the birds will find sources of water in small puddles, especially if you have melting dripping from your house. It is helpful to put out a bowl if you can, but as you said, it won't take long to freeze so you'll just have to watch out for that.
Thank you for calling us over for the new thread..don't like it's title but what are you going to do? Thanks Steve.
Lynne - do you have to go onto your porch in order to go outside? Your landlord yesterday telling you he thought it was ok - invite him over to stand on the porch while the ice falls! Maybe he will get the idea.
Lynne - Megan said Sandra's porch That is our Sandy Shaw at the 4-way stop in Shepherdstown before you go down to the Sheetz! Megan It is a front porch - right?
LLea - IE is the browser Internet Explorer that some of us use and we also use firefox. When you see the Whirling arrows on the screen - Try clicking on them or on the lower left Play button. Sometimes it is slow.
Jo, it the way we go in and out, the cars are out the back there, the trash, the yard, etc. and I have to pass through a small corner of it to get to the laundry room. I've got one more load to do and I'm done. But the danger will exist a long while. Now there is a leak in the other corner directly across from our back door where melting snow is coming in and creeping closer to the door. It freezes so fast the salt can't keep up with it.
I just keep playing around with it. Sometimes it helps to click on the start button, sometimes it helps to refresh or just log off and log back on. Others may have a better solution. I usually succeed, but sometimes it takes awhile.
well, I see the first little flakes starting now. I am waiting for some good news on the noon weather report that the storm is tracking differently than they thought and we won't be getting as much snow......I hope. I wish. I doubt it.
Almost Afternoon~~~Hello Everyone! Just saw a spot of SUN here!!!!Getting brighter in a white sky. For here they are downsizing somewhat---5" to 10". Can't believe you in nest area have flakes already! News just said what you're getting now is NOT the main event.

Sure hope that Sandra's porch doesn't collapse. I just BET Frontier gets there tomorrow! HA! Only if they are a LOT better than Verizon. Don't know whether she or Tom have a celll phone or not, but I'm pretty sure that Tom would, as much time as he spends on the road to the city. Mits.....you are so-o-o funny! Yep, Loretta, this is just a little band of stuff......still covers everything, tho'! Yuck. Glad Sharon is getting out early. Would be nice if she could pick up THelma early and not have to go out again....assuming that they are inthe "snow zone", too. Hi, Lori. So sorry you can't get home. Hope the dogs will be okay. Is your hubby home?
MEGAN!--HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN! Now maybe you can breath--I swear--our snow has stopped!!--The birds are devouring the seeds I covered the FROZEN SNOW with!--stay cool!
Normabyrd... You know talking of Morris Harvey is kickin it old school, for sure. They have done a lot to the campus in recent years. Really looks good. A lot different from when I spent time on campus in the 70s... Or even when my daughter swam there in the 80s. O the time does fly.
Hey Jo, if you smack Mits silly just plead duress.
Can't do more than agree with so many comments about safety and being careful. Please don't take unnecessary chances.
No snow flakes yet but still predicting up to 15 INCHES in some areas.
Got cleaned up just in case. Going to try some laundry in case we lose power. May even do some cook-ahead food that can be warmed on the kerosene heater. Also going to toss seeds out on top of the snow.
Saw what I think was Belle sitting in the egg cup -- I do hope she isn't going to do what I think it looked like.

This is my first post here, but I've been lurking for awhile. I was wondering if I needed a specific web browser to view the web cam. I have Internet Explorer, and no video is coming up. (However, I had the same browser last spring and I had no trouble viewing the video then.)
Hello, Blondie, it is a different cam provider this year....I'm not IT savvy, but most are on here, and it may have something to do with upgrading your Adobe Flash player...someone will be by soon to help you:)
When I open the live feed cam page with Internet Explorer, it takes me a few times to get it going. Just try hitting the play/pause buttons several times. This usually gets it started for me. I've been having this issue for about two days. Eagle is still in the nest now. At least not on the egg cup. Gonna lay down for a while, this is the calm before the storm...
Hi, Everyone, Have just gotten somewhat caught up on the blog. Lolly, CONGRATS to your Michael! No wonder you're so proud of him! Judie, sounds like your washer is trying to beat you to the punch, and commit suicide! Good luck with that!
Was really tired after school last night, and fell asleep before I could get here. Have been studying today for Thursday's final exam.
It's raining here--started very soon after I unlocked the gate for the gardener. Had hoped he could get the lawn done before it started. Oh, well. Minor inconvenience, compared to what you guys back east are dealing with! Am hoping and praying that everyone's roofs will hold up! It's really unbelievable how much water, and s___ weigh! When I was in college and worked at an aquarium/tropical fish store, I learned that water weighs 5 lbs. per gallon.
Oops--have my sound turned up, so heard Lib (?) fly in with the stick. Good to see some nestorations going on. Have to really admire the eagles' perserverance and dedication! God bless them even more in this horrible weather!
Humpfff...got my "new" FB page now----I don't like it ' either. It shows example #3 for log-on/off---and it's not even there....duh? Jo, where did you finally find it???
Gotta make another store run. Forgot the biscuits Kathryn requested. Want some for myself, too.
No snow here yet, but I see it on the weather map.
Even had a bit of sunshine. Cloudy now.
Blondie, you should be able to get the live feed. I am on Internet Explorer. If the cam doesn't come up the first time, I sometimes have to log off and log on to the cam again.
Bird inventory right now - flicker, yellow-bellied sapsucker, nuthatch, cardinal, white-throated sparrow, chickadee, goldfinch, blue jay, dark-eyed junco, titmouse, and I think a warbler but can't identify which one.
whenever I have gotten that, Sharon, I go up above and hit the refresh button, and it goes right thru.....also, sometimes it might take awhile for post to post, if you hit it again, you will get a double post... so, don't hit it..... ok now I'm confused...:):)tee-hee, but it works for me:)
Tried to buy a new grate for my fireplace, but none was available. They said there would probably be more later on. I thought maybe there wouldn't be anything else until the fall.
Judie, Judie, Judie....if you commit washercide, will you be hung out to dry????? ROFLMBO!
Sharon, I did learn that not too long ago---it doesn't ALWAYS work, but mostly it does!!! Ha! A way around the blogger cop!
Getting ready to go try to tamp down my path to the satellite dishes before the next onslaught. Wish me luck. Will have phone in my pocket so I can call Margy at 911 if I collapse.
Have been wondering if I should try to push the snow off my front porch roof. Could do it from the upstairs windows. Probably not. It might tear off the gutters.
I thought about doing that to the porch roof, Shirley...I can reach out the bathroom and spare bedroom windows...but it's too wide to get it over the edge with my longest push broom :( I'd end up with blocking the gutters worse.
Lynne, I am thinking that if you damage something because of an action you take, you are going to be in trouble. If you do nothing, you can't be held responsible. Your landlord needs to deal with it, and you have made him aware of the problem.
For myself--I have homeowner's insurance that will pay if the porch collapses, but if I knock off the gutters . . .
I have no reason to think there is a problem with my porch. I just see a lot of snow up there.
I was just hoping since DC and Virginia are getting less it will be better for the eagles.
I'll check. Here is nest cast -- hahaha.
A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW. SNOW WILL MIX WITH SLEET AND RAIN LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT ACROSS LOWER SOUTHERN MARYLAND.
* ACCUMULATIONS...7 TO 14 INCHES.
* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND LAST THROUGH WEDNESDAY. MODERATE SNOW RATES WILL OCCUR TONIGHT...AND HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED WEDNESDAY MORNING.
Snow has stopped here for now as well. Made a trip to the grocery store for eggs and milk....only gallons of milk left....rest of the shelves were bare! Oh, maybe a couple of cartons of half and half and choc milk.
Well, I hope we get what they are calling for, I want a snow day!

yes WV, looks like it is snowing there now.
Thands, Mits, and WV Susan for the call-over. Thanks Steve for the new thread.
Lynn, I have not seen or heard anything on my NOAA radio. I just went over and pressed some buttons. I think we had turned something off.
Usually, I don't need the loud alarms for anything short of a tornado, but it should have gone off before the storm we just had.
Well, hello again everybody. I am heading out to a noon meeting and will be back shortly after 1. Not snowing here right now.
Been raining here in CRW all morning Mits
I feel so sorry for Belle and Lib. Maybe they can hold off laying a new egg until after the snow melts. They are not protecting the fluff they brought in.

Lynne - do you have to go onto your porch in order to go outside?
Your landlord yesterday telling you he thought it was ok - invite him over to stand on the porch while the ice falls! Maybe he will get the idea.
Glad you got back OK Megan. Whoever Sharon is, I hope the roof doesn't come down.
I wish I could just hibernate like Lily until it goes away!
What is IE? I cannot seem to get the picture either. just the swirling spiral bar. How do I fix this?
Lynne - Megan said Sandra's porch
That is our Sandy Shaw at the 4-way stop in Shepherdstown before you go down to the Sheetz! Megan
It is a front porch - right?
LLea - IE is the browser Internet Explorer that some of us use and we also use firefox.

It's her front porch, facing the road where you are headed to Sheetz. There is police tape around sidewalk to keep people from walking near it.
LLea, hello, sometimes I get that too, I just go above the pic and click on the eagle cam again....IE is Internet Explorer.
Did it work LLea?
oh no! That's not good.
poor Sandra, read on FB she still has no phone service, Frontier is coming tomorrow.
LLea
IE=Internet Explorer.
I just keep playing around with it. Sometimes it helps to click on the start button, sometimes it helps to refresh or just log off and log back on. Others may have a better solution. I usually succeed, but sometimes it takes awhile.
Lynne - that is certainly a dangerous situation and it's not just going to go away soon.
Megan - Glad to hear of the precaution about Sandra's porch. I don't think they use that entrance much. I bet Tom put his own Police tape out!
I am hoping that Sandra or Tom has a cell they can use.
WE have Both eagles in our nest
Checking out the egg cup
Both on the nest
well, I see the first little flakes starting now. I am waiting for some good news on the noon weather report that the storm is tracking differently than they thought and we won't be getting as much snow......I hope. I wish. I doubt it.
I'm on still cam from office. Did they carry in more fluff Mema Jo?
Guess Belle found the nestovers
Lib went Poof
Was that squirrel from yesterday?
I didn't see new fluff
They flew in like side by side to the egg cup
Belle was in the front & I couldn't see if Lib had any.
Glad to see we have a new thread. Thanks, Steve.
From the fact that our pair aren't protecting the egg cup this time, it looks at though egg #3 has been put on indefinite hold.
We can relax on that score for a while it looks like.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
I think it was squirrel or rabbit
Really sounds like a frozen meal
I think you may be right, Jim
Are we having fun yet:)??????
Almost Afternoon~~~Hello Everyone! Just saw a spot of SUN here!!!!Getting brighter in a white sky. For here they are downsizing somewhat---5" to 10".
Can't believe you in nest area have flakes already! News just said what you're getting now is NOT the main event.
I sure hope the eggs are on hold Jim. Not sure how that works or if that is an urge that can be supressed. Let's hope.
Just changed total accumulation 10" - 15"! There might be sleet and rain after midnight & flakes on Wed.
Hi Jo, Helen, Steve, NatNut, Susan, Lynn, Strong and all! So nice to see someone in the nest.
Stuck at work in Rockville - have to stay at hotel here tonight so this feels like a bit of home.
Mits - I'm going to smack you silly if you ask that again....
ROFLMBO
Lori - who is taking care of the dogs??
Thankful that you will be safe and off the roads - I guess you can walk to the station? Yes?
No violence on the blog Mema Jo. ☺

Nature Nut, where did you see that they changed the snow totals?
I am like Hedgie - I need to get these Valentines out! We haven't had mail for awhile. Whatever happened to their saying about Hail & Sleet and nothing stoping them......... lol

yes NWS/NOAA has not downgraded yet here.
I think Loretta lives in PG county????
there go the sirens:(
Fire whistles - Eagle in egg cup
Hedgie do you know from the scanner what is going on?
Mits, we haven't had this big of a group for an overnighter since the President's Day Storm in '03 - once every 7 yrs isn't bad.
I can't find anything that has downgraded the snow totals for anywhere in Maryland. He has His reasons. ;)

I was on a phone call....
Nesting in the egg cup now, worries me. Jim, maybe we were wrong.
Look Norma! Jim has also fallen prey to the "ditto blog syndrome" today!
I think the mail came, yay!!
Here is my prediction....we will get the lesser amounts predicted, not the higher. Amen.
WV sUSAn - love how you do that with your name. Sometimes I do
gLORIous, just for fun.
Hi Normie, Hedgie & Jim.
AMEN for lesser amount of snow!
WVSUSAN---I have seen CU!--I was just talking with a friend that attends most of the events at CU!----She is a MH grad--now lives in Hurricane!
LYNNE....nope, I got nuthin'.
Newspaper was here this morning but no mail to date!
i am not kidding!--quit snowing here & the skies are almost sunny!
Thank you Steve.

Can't do more than agree with so many comments about safety and being careful. Please don't take unnecessary chances.

Don't get excited, heavier snow is due later, this is just the warm up... NWS still has us in 8" to 14"

Lori. I love gLORIous. That's great.
Lynne2. I get "ditto blog" too. Haha. Glad you got mail.
All. I swear to goodness, I think Belle is working on egg #3 in yet another snow storm. Getting ready...
ah, after last weekend 15 inches sounds like a dusting...sounds like wind might be the big factor this time....don't like wind:(
no mail here since last Friday...have the kids valentine cards put out in case she comes, but if not here by 2 or 3, I will go find a mail box...
My turn to get double-posted. My delete.
Live cam - Belle still sitting in egg cup. I am hoping she can wait.
Jo, then it becomes self-defense.
Okay, I really am leaving to get some pre-storm chores done.
hmmm, lunch, I forgot breakfast, just java here all morning.
yES, lYNNE. The blog told me that there were two attempts to "edit" the blog when I clicked on "publish."
Then when I tried to navigate forward and back, I ran into the double post.
Deleted it, got lost in blogspace again and got signed out.
Funny process, isn't it?
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
I'm listening to Judie's advise!
I'm not sure what Belle is trying to tell us by being in the egg cup.
Today or tomorrow would be the right timing for the 3rd egg.
Like why else would Belle be sitting in the egg cup other then to get an egg?
Yum, coffee sounds good about now.
Jim, I did the ditto thing this week, too. Must be goin' around.
Gosh, Belle looks so beautiful on the nest in the snow with her head held high like that.
MEGAN---I'll never forget that 4-way stop!---Xmas a year ago---The other guy came on thru the 4-way!
SANDY & TOM were so kind!
Obvious that cabin fever is setting in what with Jo threatening Mits with violence. However, it was much deserved! Gotta watch what you say in these tough times, Mits.
Well, as ya'll saw on Saturday, if egg #3 is in the works, there's nothing Belle can do about it. I hope not.
Just made a hair appointment to get it trimmed and have a doctor's appointmnent tomorrow. Hostess at church Thursday evening, so I will be baking. I am thinking sopapilla cheesecake and choc dipped strawberries...then roll them in pecans. How does that sound? The other hostess is doing the napkins etc and a veggie plate. They will like mine better!!
Poof!
Up off egg cup
Fly out
Belle went Poof
MT nest
Lolly - sounds fabulous! Save some for us.
Lolly Where did you say your church was and what time was that.
lol
Our snowflakes are getting larger and it is heavier now.
Will do! Love choc dipped strawberries and think rolling them in chopped pecans would be fabulous. Have plenty of pecans for sure! Jack is up to the 18th gallon bag and more to shell. Bless him!
Norma - I think you shoved the snow down this way on us!
that's ok Judy says I can smack her back Lolly:):)
sun is peeking thru the clouds here.
Return of the eagle
(That could be Lib)
Checking out egg cup and seems to be deepening it.......
Yippee---flag is down on mailbox, so Valentines went out! Mommy and kids will get their love dose!! Well....Carolyn and grands may not----since she has a PO box....sure she won't get there at this rate. Not expecting any important mail so am NOT hiking out again today.
Do not see snow falling at the nest right now,. Saw a little earlier.
Eagle back with more fluff I think. She is working it over. Good for her.
Little late turning my Feb calendar and there was the Lord and Lady BW with little Snow White and Frosty!☺
Need some fresh food in the nest
Looking at the feathery neckline it looks like Belle..
Lolly, anyone who shells 18 gallon bags full of nuts is crazy in love with whomever he is doing it for :)
EEEEuuuuuu! Stringy leftovers!
No, just crazy....or "nuts". lol
I vote for the sopapilla cheesecake, Lolly.
two!!!!!!!!!
Looks like Belle eating and Lib is back...
Heading out to slosh thru the slushy downtown streets....bbialw
Have you ever warmed your sopapilla cheesecake? OMG! It is so good!
You have to wonder what Lib is thinking!
LOL, don't even think about picking at my crumbs....too funny!
Just a few, large, lazy flakes now. Guess band one is about over. About an inmch out of it.
Oh yes, Lolly, I have. Haven't even eaten it cold, although I know you said it could be eaten that way.
Ahhhh, Lib is hungry, too. Did you see him cautiously sneak a bite?
Lib went poof
Maybe he is going to catch a train..
Come on guys, stomp around the nest, throw out some snow.
Poof...off goes Lib. Maybe he can find his own food.
LOL Jo! Maybe he is going to just fly around.
Pulling off fur??
what is sopapilla cheesecake? Sounds like I want some of dat!
we have another little band of light snow now.
It sure does sound like Spring at the nest...songbirds
need food!----still no snow--
Sopapilla cheese cake is so simple. You make it with Cresent rolls and of course...cream cheese. It melts in the mouth!!!
Eeeeuuuuuu! Gross! Getting rid of the stringy remains. Poof...off she goes!
Lynne, google sopapilla cheese cake and you will get the recipe.
Hair appointment at 2, need to get a few things done.

rest well Megan, hate to see more snow for you, but am hoping they are wrong about the sleet and freezing rain, and winds
Eagle working on the nest cup now.
Making the egg cup deeper? Sounds crunchy. I wonder if its still frozen underneath?
Thanks, snow we can deal with, the wind is gonna be a whole different story.
sure it is frozen, Dona
both there.

Sneakin' back in.
I think I have "avatar envy" today.
I love Anne Marie's eagle avatar and am totally taken with Lolly's sunny smiley face.
Oops--have my sound turned up, so heard Lib (?) fly in with the stick. Good to see some nestorations going on. Have to really admire the eagles' perserverance and dedication! God bless them even more in this horrible weather!
yes, they are to be admired...thank heavens they don't have the human emotion of frustration.
Blondiegrrl, are you using this year's link to the live feed or last year's?
Did you all know that if you put in a comment and conflicting edits comes up, you can hit the arrow-back and your comment will still be there?
Humpfff...got my "new" FB page now----I don't like it ' either. It shows example #3 for log-on/off---and it's not even there....duh? Jo, where did you finally find it???
Could definitely hear the HP happening just now.
Washercide? Sounds violent. May I watch?
Gotta make another store run. Forgot the biscuits Kathryn requested. Want some for myself, too.
No snow here yet, but I see it on the weather map.
Even had a bit of sunshine. Cloudy now.
Blondie, you should be able to get the live feed. I am on Internet Explorer. If the cam doesn't come up the first time, I sometimes have to log off and log on to the cam again.
Click on this link: Live Cam
Bird inventory right now - flicker, yellow-bellied sapsucker, nuthatch, cardinal, white-throated sparrow, chickadee, goldfinch, blue jay, dark-eyed junco, titmouse, and I think a warbler but can't identify which one.
whenever I have gotten that, Sharon, I go up above and hit the refresh button, and it goes right thru.....also, sometimes it might take awhile for post to post, if you hit it again, you will get a double post... so, don't hit it..... ok now I'm confused...:):)tee-hee, but it works for me:)
Lawn? Andy, what is a lawn?
Judie, you could probably fling that washer out the window and it would disappear into a snowdrift.
If you click on account, logoff is listed under there Hedgie!
Gosh everyone is here in the afternoon, Sharon, Megan, Bookworm (good luck on the test), Hedgie, Mits ...
Is it a snow day for anyone?
Tried to buy a new grate for my fireplace, but none was available. They said there would probably be more later on. I thought maybe there wouldn't be anything else until the fall.
Jamaica ad on. Sigh. That would be nice.
Dana, did you get the med???
Oh...sorry....welcome, blondiegirl Let us know more aobut you! Where are you watching from?
roflmbo...good one, Lynn:)
Have been wondering if I should try to push the snow off my front porch roof. Could do it from the upstairs windows. Probably not. It might tear off the gutters.
Funny one, Lynn.
oh no, now Shirley is telling Judie how to get rid of the body, I mean, machine.....this is not good. Guess I'll be guilty by association!
LMAO Lynn!!!!
poor Judy is probably running around in cycles:(
Lori, it seems like everyday is a snow day now.
I thought about doing that to the porch roof, Shirley...I can reach out the bathroom and spare bedroom windows...but it's too wide to get it over the edge with my longest push broom :( I'd end up with blocking the gutters worse.
LMAO Mits.....you're right, given how agitated she must be.....
roflmbo.....another knee slapper, Lynne
GREAT news -- DC snow totals now
7 - 14... but Frederick still 10 - 20 inches.
That was the 2:51 updated Storm Warning from NOAA
Lynne, I am thinking that if you damage something because of an action you take, you are going to be in trouble. If you do nothing, you can't be held responsible. Your landlord needs to deal with it, and you have made him aware of the problem.
For myself--I have homeowner's insurance that will pay if the porch collapses, but if I knock off the gutters . . .
I have no reason to think there is a problem with my porch. I just see a lot of snow up there.
So you think Judie is spinning by now.
Montgomery county schools are closed the rest of the week!
Lori - do you have to pay for hotel room or is work paying for it?
That's true Shirley, I thought about that as well.
I hear some thumping...if she IS spinning, I fear the load is unbalanced.
The nest looks almost like a smiley face with eyes, high nose and mouth!
I think we are all going to be closed the rest of the week.
I was just hoping since DC and Virginia are getting less it will be better for the eagles.
I'll check.
Here is nest cast -- hahaha.
