Mits I was watching the cams last night when you were on. Saw you tried to get the red pandas. If the cams were not working I was going to call you on your cell phone.
CEIL, I hope you are still on here. Sorry it took me so long. I'm still learning as I go. I needed to install Picasa, before I could do your photo. I went outside yesterday and was SHOCKED to see this object in the snow. Thought it must belong to you...check it out on my Just For Fun blog:)
What I am sick of is the bog that I used to call my backyard. We extended our patio with bricks to help the water flow off to the side of the house and the bricks have a stream of water standing. We are soggy to say the least! YUK!
I have encountered my first problem. I cannot get back into my PICASA. It's as though it never existed. That is were the three photos I just posted are stored! Gonna get the book out.
Game last night was great - beat LaSalle. It was quite an adventure for me as I ended up courtside with a bunch of big shots. Sure was more exciting to be only feet away from the action.
Would have been on sooner but have been in an interrogation -- seems an angel's head was located in Wanda's yard. I said I had no knowledge of how it got there because I left it outside Lily's den concealed in a deceased washing machine.
Shirley, useless to say but try not to worry. You have a gazillion eagle prayers!
Megan, glad you seem to be feeling better.
Well, about to go show the wannabe adults an interview with Dennis Rader aka BTK.

Good morning everyone. Went back to old thread to find the forecast. Doesn't look to bad for our birds. I am very glad to see that. It is sunny here so I guess you all know what that means for Dex and i today. Enjoy your day.
Wind is howling and the chimes are making lots of windsong! See an awful lot of broken branches from my yews now that snow is melting away from them. Big time spring clean-up ahead.
deep beautiful rich brown and golden colors at the nest this morning did anyone see that little back white feather on the Eagle's back blowing in the breeze this morning
Good afternoon folks Nice pictures Wanda Maybe Ceil will come up in person to pick up the little head... ☺ I like the thought that some of my Megan Flowers will be amongst those seed orders that Megan is making

Hi, Everyone, Have been reading a bit on the blog to try to catch up. Shirley, prayers that the mammo. is OK. Can remember when mine was questionable about 15 years ago, and went back for a retake. Then they made me wait about 10 weeks to hear the results! Was just fine, but they nearly made me crazy with the delay.
According to the blog comments at the Hummer cam, Phoebe has laid an egg early this morning! She's on the nest incubating it. Bless her heart!
Was happy to see both of my Band-tailed pigeon pals chowing down at breakfast this morning. Hope they stick around!
Gotta get ready to go to school now. Hope the bookstore has the CD I need for tonight's class! If they do, I can finish my homework at home! Need to make an appt. with the finance dude regarding re-applying for a student loan, too. I found the old paperwork, and the deadline is 3/30.
Wanda, love your pictures! Can't imagine HOW that garland and the angel's head found their way to your yard--maybe the intense wind that seems to be blowing today! Sure hope our eagles have rocks in their pockets! BTW, love the picture of the cat! Has he always been a bit lopsided?
Judie, glad you had such good seats for the game! Bet your lecture will be a bit intense. What a wacko! Have a great afternoon.
Well, gotta run. Have a payment to drop off before going to school, so better get the lead out. Will be back later today. Take care, and hope you all have a good afternoon! :o]
Lolly, Hope your 'swamp' dries up quickly! Our kids in Aubrey have the same problem when it rains a lot--their whole back yard resembles Lake Superior! Hmmm....maybe water lilies or some water fountains like the Bellagio has? Well, gotta get this show on the road, and quit pulling a 'Margy'! Later, alligators!
there is a good article about the baby anteater at the National Zoo that has been sent to the Nashville Zoo. His name is Cyrano. I just google fonz and it is on the home page. Unless someone wants to drag it over
awww such a cutie.....ppor thing got over shadowed by Tai.....
Bulletin From the Barn: February 23, 2010 Baby Anteater Update From Keeper Marie Magnuson
You probably heard about giant panda Tai Shan leaving the Zoo and going to China. Well, a week earlier Cyrano traveled to his new home at the Nashville Zoo. Just as our giant pandas belong to China and are on loan to us, our giant anteaters are on loan from Nashville, and any offspring that Dante and Maripi produce belong to Nashville as well. This should work out well for Cyrano. Nashville has quite a few anteaters and we hope that the zoo will match him up with a nice young girl anteater and they will have a baby of their own someday. If you've been following the anteaters at our zoo for a while, you know that's what happened with Maripi and Dante’s first baby, Aurora.
Roomy Accommodations While Cyrano did not have as far to travel as Tai Shan, just as much care was taken with his trip. Nashville Zoo’s director, Rick Schwartz, happened to be in the area so he dropped off the carrier that Cyrano would be travelling in. It was made just for anteaters out of tough plastic that the anteaters cannot tear apart with their claws. It also had lots of air holes for good ventilation. We put some hay inside for comfort and warmth. We would have liked to put it inside Cyrano’s enclosure so that he could get used to it, but it was too big to fit through the door! While he didn’t have a chance to “test drive” it before the trip it was nice to know that he would have such nice roomy accommodations when he traveled.
The morning that Cyrano was leaving the keepers put the carrier in front of the door to Cyrano’s enclosure. We then slid the sky kennel that Cyrano was sleeping in up to the door of the carrier that he would be traveling in. We had hoped that he would get up and walk in, but the anteater motto is “When in doubt, pretend to be asleep” so that didn’t happen.
Cyrano remained curled up under his tail so we gently lifted the end of his kennel. You could almost hear him say “All right, all right, I’m going!” as he went into the carrier, and we closed the door behind him. He immediately curled back up, covered himself with his tail and prepared to go back to sleep. We covered the carrier with a blanket since most animals feel safer and more secure when it is dark. We then carried it out and loaded it into the back of Rick’s SUV.
Private Car, New Food That’s right! Cyrano was chauffeured to his new home by the director of the zoo! We sent a supply of peanut butter (Cyrano’s favorite) along for the trip, as well as some of the anteater chow that he was used to and off they went. The keepers in Nashville will gradually transition him to the diet that they feed, which is very similar. They arrived safely in Nashville later that day and the keepers there gave Cyrano some avocado, which he had never had before. We hear that he likes it very much!
While we will miss him we know that leaving is what’s best for Cyrano. Growing up and going off is the way of the world, for both anteaters and people. We wish him well wherever life takes him.
we are supposed to get a male sloth bear, named Francois, I think they said he has been at NZ before can't remember the details and just deleted the info this a.m., but alot of the older volunteers remembered him
Well, I hope that the Valmont intruder got bested by ther Mrs. and doesn't come back. And hope they re-clutch. Wonder how many years this pair has been together?
I loved the account of the Anteater's trip to Nashville. By the ZOO'S BIG MAN:) All zoo animals are loved by their keepers or someone, aren't they? Such tender loving care.
Good Day to all my new eagle friends. Thank you for the prayers. Dr. said NO SURGERY!!! Yeah. I have degeneration in several dics, 3-4 cyst, which your body makes happen to protect disc. Lots of pinching of some nerves. But all and all I can continue on with life. Need to go back to gym. Build up my core. I need to do that anyway. So sounds like I am like some of you. We just keep going. Prayers are powerful. Thanks again.
Lynn, he is coming sometime this spring, don't know from where, don't remember what they told us, he is one of Merlin's (deceased sloth bear) sons. He and Hana, are being recommended for breeding...Hana had a son Balavat with Merlin.
That's good news Ragdoll exercise, rest, careful lifting and good ergonomics at workplace and home ... and I had a doctor that encouraged Greens, Grains, and Beans.... He was an osteopathic doctor
Wanda, sorry to have accused you. Judie, is just up to no good!☺
Yea, Ragdoll!! Have a history of back problems myself. However, I am doing great. When I think I have over done, on goes the ice or a muscle relaxer. If I start to hurt, my muscles get tight and then a spasm. My walking at home and the stretching excercises I do help. In fact, I AM JUST GREAT! PTL
Wanda, you must have gotten the SOOPER DOOPER Model of computers. lol
Thank you Mits for the additional information on Valmont... I guess a tussle with a competitive female is somewhat better than a blast of hot effluent gases....wish it had not been either hopes for a second clutch
We are getting rain, rain and more rain. Our nice basement we have been working on is...FLOODING...I just thank God it wasn't a week or so ago. We have large deep shelves around all the walls for storage. During our insulating tasks, we took all storage items down along with shelves. So all my stored "stuff" was on the floor. I decided I was picking through all my "Stuff" Got rid of 50% of it. Got 80% of shelves and boxes back up. So 20% is wet. We have about 1 1/2 inches... we are pumping it out with 2 new pumps. Trying to stay ahead of what is coming in.
Thing is, we have lived here 19 years. Never got any water until 3yrs. ago. This is our 3rd time. We have a daylight basement.
what I liked about the doctor, Wanda...is that he didn't take the easy route and give me muscle relaxers and pain pills(like so many do !! right off the bat) But I did get some good physical therapy and some novacaine shots in the spine
Margy, my doctor is an Osteopath, also. He listens with both ears when I talk to him and he even looks at me. Make me feel like he is interested in my concerns.
Yup, countdown from the 13th I would say. Margy, you were the first one to question the number of eggs...I guess we are just confirming what you thought you saw.
well it is wildlife in its true form...dealing with the elements and their instincts... will surely be wonderful if this little egglet makes it All The Way !

Yes, I am a Deb. I remember the first Deb. I watched Lib and Belle from Mid April thru September or October. I use to read this blog. Came back in January to watch our eagles and read about Deb. I felt sad. Sounds like she was a wonderful person. I kind of got to know many of you before joined in.

Snowing like crazy here! Wind is blowing so hard I can't imagine that it will lay! So Ragdoll, your name is Deb? We lost our very special Deb last fall....so very sad. Sorry about your flooding---that stinks....at least you had a head start and saved a lot of your stuff.
Wanda, what DO do you go to? Loved the angel addition!!!
Lolly, what program are you using to burn your pictures to CD? I am having absolutely NO luck....been trying all afternoon again....getting so frustrated.
Only one egg. I had a feeling the 3rd egg was jeopardize from the S- storm. We will have another spoiled Hidey.
Paula, we have a basement that is in the ground like normal in the front and sides. but in the back the landscaping is lower. So we have two regular windows in the back side of basement. Which lets daylight in. I don't know if it's the right term for it, but it works for us.
Paula if you are still here, or anyone today or tomorrow that gets a good picture of the one egg, (or two if it should reappear...)
Steve would appreciate it being forwarded to him pls and thanks He said that their Eagle Guy in Maryland says if they cover an egg up with grass it indicates they are giving up on it...(or in a better situation would be letting it cool to slow down incubation)
I would say when someone does that, we could post it here on the blog so he does not get bombarded with pictures...sound good to you folks ?
We are going to be getting heavy rain for 3 -4 more days. Wind is picking up. They say it will be 35 - 60 mile winds. I this was snow we would be.....like you have been. LOL.
If we lose our electricity we are lucky enough to have a generator.
The way I look at things as I age is what all of you say "IT IS WHAT IT IS"
The wind is picking up at the nest. Hang on Belle!
DeBord is who saved SIL Charlie's life the first time he coded, Wanda. Our PCP doesn't do hospital, so DeBord admits his patients....Dr. Chapman was one of the good guys, wasn't he?
Deb, if you read the blog for all that time, you know us well!!! I lurked for awhile, and felt so comfortable with these folks that it didn't take me long to ask if I could join in! Best thing I have ever done!! :)
Costume Lady, What is happening is the water tables are rising. Where the formed concrete walls meet the concrete floor there is a hair line crack. You don't really notice with your eyes. As the tables rise the water come in the cracks on all outside walls and fills your basement. Most people have a sum pump hole with a pumb in it and before the water comes in cracks. It pumps it out from under the basement floor. When you get the rain we are getting, it is coming in faster the it can be pumped.
We are not the only ones. Many people are being flood today. Roads are being closed from flooding and our rivers are cresting.
Microphone replacement at Lily's den was a failure. They think they found the problem and are going to try again. New one supposedly will eliminate the hum/buzz.
more updates ref Valmont. "Dave" who works at the Electric plant there, has been observing the injured female with binoculars most of the day .. and will, after the parent owls mourn the loss of the egg for a few days, mostly likely be the one to remove the eggs and maybe they can try again He thinks it is not a burn injury but a battle injury, that was already posted by Mits earlier
Yes Paula, Same thing. We wished we had a door when we bought the house. Can't have everything.
One of the Maine Eagles Nest is right on the ocean. The coast is getting hammered. Waves are rolling in and going up on houses. Beach erosion. Strong winds.
night light and a pretty bright approaching full moon Jo - hope Megan can slip us the Moon name ☺ going to go read for awhile got my quarterly copy of West Virginia Wildlife today
thanks Jo for getting the Valmont forum link to me...I have been reading it all day Yes, Dave, sounds pretty dedicated, think it said he has been there 30 years !
It is certainly quiet around here! I think me and Mattie have been snowed in together too much this winter. We have been getting on each other's nerves, but it is lonesome without her for sure. We are supposed to get a pretty good wallop from this stupid storm. I am giving up winter for Lent!!!

A Northern Flicker was spotted on the camera arm. They're a type of large woodpecker.
CEIL, I hope you are still on here. Sorry it took me so long. I'm still learning as I go. I needed to install Picasa, before I could do your photo.
I went outside yesterday and was SHOCKED to see this object in the snow. Thought it must belong to you...check it out on my Just For Fun blog:)
roflmbo, Wanda, good job, you found it:)
Wanda your pics are great. Hope Ceil sees them. lol
I am hoping that this wind will bring in March like a lion so that it can go out like a lamb!
Wanda that is it. Thanks so much. Love the cat picture also and Gene and Dustin. Off to get some work done.
Good morning!!!!
Good Morning Lolly
Happy to see that Megan was on for a moment.
MEGAN...certainly hope you are feeling better.
Wonder what else all of you are going to find when the snow melts. lol
Bright sunshine and 45. I can live with that! My daffodils are shining in the sun!
BWE just arrived with fluff or something!
What I am sick of is the bog that I used to call my backyard. We extended our patio with bricks to help the water flow off to the side of the house and the bricks have a stream of water standing. We are soggy to say the least! YUK!
Lolly, Maybe you can grow water lillies, and there are all kinds of bog plants:)
I have encountered my first problem. I cannot get back into my PICASA. It's as though it never existed. That is were the three photos I just posted are stored!
Gonna get the book out.
ROFLMBO Great idea, Wanda!
DANA, when I bring up the live cam I get the as the world turns thingy. Most times I have to click the play button twice and the cam comes up.
Hope Belle does not blow away!
Wanda, SO glad you found the missing head!! Now if the garland would just show up, Ceil would be very happy!!
Hi, Lolly.....sorry about your bog....:(
Good morning, everyone.
Ceil, hope your sheetz are nice a dry.

Lolly, what was happening with the slide scanner last night?
Hi Lynn!
I am about to leave now. Time to eat and then walk. Have BWE and TH up while I walk. Can not watch our cam as it has to be refreshed too often. Birds on the TH cam sound wonderful!
BBL Have a great day!
Whoops Lynn, Just saw you question,.
Ooooo! Water lilies - lovely! Maybe a pond with little fishies and frogies, too.
I AM NOT TELLING ABOUT THE SHINY GARLAND! I work in D.C. - I have no recollection of the event.
Okay, off to the killer.
LMBO!, Judie:)
Here's the deal Sometimes when I slide a picture in it does not show up. Sometimes is shows up, but when I click to take a picture, that does not work. And, when I quit last night no picture at all was showing up.?????????

LOL, Judie---I assume you took the 5th!!
Glad you had courtside seating for the game---trusting that you didn't end up with any students in your lap!!
LOL Judie, already have the pond with little froggies and 8 little fishes. Now the ground around the pond is a bog. Not good!
Judie, you have a heavy session on your hands today. Serial Killer
Bind Torture and Kill Dude. Sick, Sick, Sick! I'd like to hear that interview.
Well, I am a little suspicious about the angel head. What was it doing in Wanda's yard? Wanda? This does not look good for you!
An angel, Wanda?

Lolly, I saw footprints leading up to the angels head. I think Judie needs to come here and check out those footprints, not mine!

I just saw one egg. Is that all we have now?
That was all I saw, Sharon. Must be Eggbert (Palmer)
My pop up cam view isn't working....anyone else???
still and pop up fine here.

eggs alone in view in the nest box
Blackwater eagle seems to be moving around a lot in the nest
stunning views there at that nest
darn it just missed another one egg check that is, I think at our nest
OWL outside the nest box at Valmont on the perch
letters to mail and a book to try to find

that's a shame, Margy:(
Yes, it is a shame. Wonder if she will be able to recover.
Do males of their species roost on the eggs?
Eagle in with fluff
Belle came in with the fluff...now preening. Lib on the eggs.
Lib up and off...on the back.
Belle blocking the view
Lib gone
Just a quick glimpse, but I could only see one egg clearly
ra-ro BWE is looking a little staticky
Probably someone sitting at the road in front of the nest

I saw the BWE eggs too. Got a picture. Did not see anything.
Hi, Everyone,
Have been reading a bit on the blog to try to catch up.
Shirley, prayers that the mammo. is OK. Can remember when mine was questionable about 15 years ago, and went back for a retake. Then they made me wait about 10 weeks to hear the results! Was just fine, but they nearly made me crazy with the delay.

:o]
Mits,
Thanks for the update on the owls. Sure hope the injured owl recovers quickly, and they have another clutch soon. Many prayers for them!
Just peeked at the hummer cam before heading for the shower--Phoebe is off the nest, and there's a really good view of the new egg!
Interesting about the owls and sad that the eggs will not be viable.
Have posted a pic of the BWE eggs on the blog eagle and panda pics .
Lolly,
Hope your 'swamp' dries up quickly!
Egg check, fluff adjust, wiggle - I only saw one egg
there is a good article about the baby anteater at the National Zoo that has been sent to the Nashville Zoo. His name is Cyrano.
I just google fonz and it is on the home page. Unless someone wants to drag it over
awww such a cutie.....ppor thing got over shadowed by Tai.....
Bulletin From the Barn: February 23, 2010
Baby Anteater Update From Keeper Marie Magnuson
Roomy Accommodations
While Cyrano did not have as far to travel as Tai Shan, just as much care was taken with his trip.
Private Car, New Food
That’s right!
Oh no...not the baby anteater:(
is that one of your favs, Megan???
Yeah, me and the kid love the anteaters. We didn't get to see the baby when we were there last. It wasn't out on display.
we are supposed to get a male sloth bear, named Francois, I think they said he has been at NZ before can't remember the details and just deleted the info this a.m., but alot of the older volunteers remembered him
Megan the zoo still has Cyranos mom and dad.
Hi, ANdy, bye, Andy. I always just miss you!
Well, I hope that the Valmont intruder got bested by ther Mrs. and doesn't come back. And hope they re-clutch. Wonder how many years this pair has been together?
don't know how long this pair has been together...
I loved the account of the Anteater's trip to Nashville. By the ZOO'S BIG MAN:) All zoo animals are loved by their keepers or someone, aren't they? Such tender loving care.
yeah that was funny...the "big man"
Ceil, I can't believe my eyes. Your angel head has an addition to it. I think it might have been Judie;) Look on blog, Just For Fun.
Good luck to the young anteater. Where is Francois now, Mits? How soon will he be coming?
wow... Wanda, that wind must have been something, or it was Judie:)
Hooray for Ragdoll's good news!!
BIG SIGH of relief, huh...I was going to write you name, but don't know it. LOL
Good afternoon my eagle budlets!
OH my goodness, we have been sent another DEB! Deb II.
Shirley, I have roman numeral keys on my new computer;)
hey Sharon, how is it going?
Hi Sharon, what's it doing in Bedford, weatherwise? We dodged the bullet this time.
It is windy but sunny, 35°. Is it not supposed to snow at the nest either?
And it is going good. Really enjoying having Mattie here with me.
Lynn, he is coming sometime this spring, don't know from where, don't remember what they told us, he is one of Merlin's (deceased sloth bear) sons. He and Hana, are being recommended for breeding...Hana had a son Balavat with Merlin.
Belle sounds like she wants a break before it gets dark.
That's good news Ragdoll
exercise, rest, careful lifting and good ergonomics at workplace and home ...
and I had a doctor that encouraged
Greens, Grains, and Beans....
I guess a tussle with a competitive female is somewhat better than a blast of hot effluent gases....wish it had not been either
hopes for a second clutch
BWE has some real contortionist's moves today
Those three foods cause gas, and cleans you system out:)
Mrs/ Valmont could have tangled with an eagle. They like eagle eggs and babies:(
poor Belle, does sound like she needs a break
Is a daylight basement a walk out basement? Never heard of the term.
sorry to hear about it Ragdoll...
glad you were prepared, hope it improves soon
Margy, my doctor is an Osteopath, also. He listens with both ears when I talk to him and he even looks at me. Make me feel like he is interested in my concerns.
Maybe Belle is hungry :)
Up she goes...wing stretch, sounds like diner is a coming!
Nope no dinner yet...there is clearly only one egg in our nest :(
But we all thought #3 wasn't going to make it...at least we won't be wondering and wondering at hatching time. Pic on the EM blog and group.
great BWE egg pictures Lolly
Yes, Wanda, this doc was really good...glad yours is too
I just lost the still cam
ttfn xo
I've been wondering about the egg situation...so if only one, I guess the countdown time begins on the 13th Paula ?
here come the geese...
poof there she goes....
Lib must be on his way. Belle just flew off.
egg in view
Lib in, Belle already out.
Only one egg
eagle back
Yup, countdown from the 13th I would say. Margy, you were the first one to question the number of eggs...I guess we are just confirming what you thought you saw.
Lazy afternoon - Chili stewing in the pot! Cornbread baking in the oven.
Downy eating the suet - no s..w from the sky. Couldn't be any better.
Deb/Ragdoll - very thankful that worry has been lifted from you!
I never got to see that baby anteater - only his pictures. He grew up pretty fast.
:(
more like, didn't see..
thanks Paula..
I just emailed Steve about it to see what if anything they have been seeing from there
At least 1 visible egg. We shall have one little gray fluff ball!
I wonder to where the other one I thought I saw disappeared? Your guess would be as good as mine.
well it is wildlife in its true form...dealing with the elements and their instincts...
will surely be wonderful if this little egglet makes it All The Way !
Best wishes for a good evening, all
xo
Margy, is your avatar your uniform?

Yes, I am a Deb. I remember the first Deb. I watched Lib and Belle from Mid April thru September or October. I use to read this blog. Came back in January to watch our eagles and read about Deb. I felt sad. Sounds like she was a wonderful person. I kind of got to know many of you before joined in.

I guess that was the 20% chance! lol
yes Deb, she was, quiet, unassuming, loved her eagles and osprey.
well this time next year, God willing , hubby will be retired, and I want out of Dodge!!!!
Dr. DeBord, Lynn. Use to go to Dr. Chapman until he retired, then he recommend DeBord.
I don't know if it's the right term for it, but it works for us.
just missed to eagles at the nest, it had timed out...
Ragdoll, how does the water get into your house...from the back wall?
that would be two, as in 2 eagles were there.
I think I could spend the night at our nest...it is really well padded and fluffed out...
good for hunkering down in
Wanda not my uniform, just something in my favorite color that I bought through office person who had a catalog
I've tried to keep it zipped most of the day...☺ learn more from what I read than what I type ☺
and I was doing dishes and laundry Mits!
I've missed so many of the rolls and checks today :(
Paula
if you are still here, or anyone today or tomorrow that gets a good picture of the one egg, (or two if it should reappear...)
Steve would appreciate it being forwarded to him
pls and thanks
He said that their Eagle Guy in Maryland says if they cover an egg up with grass it indicates they are giving up on it...(or in a better situation would be letting it cool to slow down incubation)
Hang on Belle!
so my question to the expert would be how do they know which egg out of the two is not going to make it...
speaking of wind, Maine nest is getting clobbered, still
hold your ears or turn down the volume
Maine Eagle Cam
give it a few seconds to go live
just think if that was snow, Ragdoll.
yeah I stopped going up there, Margy....
No problem Margy - sounds like a plan
If I get a definite egg pic I'll holler & forward to Steve.
Paula may even get a video for him.
has anyone posted this:
check out the fresh fish at BWE !
lol If Deb/Ragdoll says that the winds are blowing in Maine then that will also speak for the weather at the nest up there.
I love your shirt/jacket, Margy! Looks like it's warm, too!
ok JO - I work the next two days so it won't likely be me
wish I had seen that fish come in to BWE
was just going to post that, Margy
yes LOL JO that does make sense...Ragdoll would know about the wind all right Wow it's a'howling...
ok I am zipping up the jacket again, will holler if I get a screen grab
xo
Chili is up!
BBILW
Ok, finally got egg pics on the EM blog. I would expect hatching around Mar 20-23
Hey check out the fresh fish at BWE :)
Sorry I am so wordy. I made that up..LOL.
Still trying to figure out what to fix here for dinner....
BTW---still no email response from Lynne2. She's been on FB, so it's not her puter!
Paula, are you able to email the pics to Steve?
He was asking that if look pretty confirmed one only he would appreciate it
I am going to look at them now.
thanks !
OK, sending the pics to Steve, too.
Microphone replacement at Lily's den was a failure. They think they found the problem and are going to try again. New one supposedly will eliminate the hum/buzz.
thanks Paula...saw your picture...
I posted a few things about Steve's request about a dozen posts ago
I guess BWE eagle would like to be FED tonight...
I sent Steve a couple of different shots showing only one egg.
Heading home, catch ya'll later
Welcome, Deb :)
more updates ref Valmont.
"Dave" who works at the Electric plant there, has been observing the injured female with binoculars most of the day ..
and will, after the parent owls mourn the loss of the egg for a few days, mostly likely be the one to remove the eggs and maybe they can try again
He thinks it is not a burn injury but a battle injury, that was already posted by Mits earlier
there is an owl outside the box on a perch now
Deb - we call that a walkout basement, same description, but with a door :)
That looks like Dan - the male is smaller
Hatch could be as early as March 20 from the 2/13 egg.... Come on
Little Palmer!
Love that fish just lying there being ignored by Lady Blackwater.........
Whoa! Maybe it is there in anticipation of feeding a little fluff ball.
Hey there eagle buds! More weather drama coming our way! How is everyone this evening?
Hi Sissy = Saw where you have warnings of blizzard conditions. I really hope they only last 1 hour!
I bet you're missing Mattie Jane!
Yes Paula, Same thing. We wished we had a door when we bought the house. Can't have everything.
One of the Maine Eagles Nest is right on the ocean. The coast is getting hammered. Waves are rolling in and going up on houses. Beach erosion. Strong winds.
Margy, 'Dave' must not be a biologist due to the fact he talks about Snowflake and Dan mourning the loss of their 3 eggs. I like Dave!
I think that our night light is on.
Maine coast can be a really brutal place. How far inland are you, Deb
Maybe they hear the babe at BWE and that is the reason for the fresh fish in the nest.
night light and a pretty bright approaching full moon Jo -
hope Megan can slip us the Moon name ☺
going to go read for awhile
got my quarterly copy of West Virginia Wildlife today
the still cam of our nest is a beautiful view
ttfn
Mits where are the Amen's
thanks Jo for getting the Valmont forum link to me...I have been reading it all day
Yes, Dave, sounds pretty dedicated, think it said he has been there 30 years !
It is certainly quiet around here! I think me and Mattie have been snowed in together too much this winter. We have been getting on each other's nerves, but it is lonesome without her for sure. We are supposed to get a pretty good wallop from this stupid storm. I am giving up winter for Lent!!!
oh shoots...Amen and Alleluia:)
We are safe, we live about 8 miles from the ocean.
Nice that they are trying to fix the hum on Lily's cam. When I looked in yesterday cub was pretty quiet. You could hear it eating.
What is the little dark spot on the right side of Lib and Belles nest?
Lady Blackwater just looks at that fish. Is it true she maybe saving it for her babies?
When the babies hatch there will be lots of fish deliveries.
Well, I made the wrong choice on dinner....fixed some crispy hash browns......and broke a tooth on the 2nd bite...........argh!!!! I can't win. :(
oh no, Lynn:(
Going to help hubby in basement. Not much we can do, but he is down there with the wetvac.
Also need food.
BBL ^..^
I have not looked in on Lily, in a long time
we are going to split soon.
Watching the ladies gold medal hockey game against Canada. Check out the goalies helmet....a bald eagle.
