Good morning and thanks for the new Mothers Day thread to Steve also ... of course, thanks to all the tech people who keep this going day in and day out.
Hear a woodpecker out on the suet and Momma wren has really been fussing at Annie, our cat. It is 66 here this morning and cloudy. Went down to get the paper and it was misty.
GOOD MORNING AGAIN EAGLE MOMS!!---HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY GLO!----I bet you caught my 'MA BELLE' pun! ho! MORNIN' DEB!---MORNIN' AGAIN---MITS & JIM!!---This is the most GORGEOUS day we have had for 2 weeks!---SHARON said they didn't have GREAT weather at RIPLEY!!---COMIN' HOME after lunch today!! LIFE IS GOOD!
Just happened that both Finnish Ospreys got up to turn the eggs, etc., but I could only see one of them at Finney's and two of them at the water scene.
It will be three years this next Aug. when my mother passed. It was rough and I really miss her. I used to call her every night and still have that urge to call her.
* Good Morning Everyone * and Happy Mother's Day to all.
Jim - you keep me posted on the hummingbirds, because for some reason it is not a friendly site here on my computer anymore.
I saw the two eggs at Finland Land overnight, but can hardly ever see the ones at Nauvo. Only if someone like Suzanne gets a capture and sends it along ☺
Okay, I am off of here. This was my small allotted time! LOL Time eat and get ready for church. Have a great Sunday everyone....will return this evening!
You might need the free update of the Flash Player.
To check, just right click on the Hummer screen. It should say Adobe F.P. 10. If it doesn't, just click on "About ...." and it will take you to the site to download the latest, which only takes a minute.
Our house wren(s) have returned also. Last year I documented the family saga at the birdhouse in my sweetbay magnolia tree close to deck. We also have a house out front in the crabapple. Had a family in that one too last year. The fussbudget here now has been going to BOTH trees. Hasn't decided where to settle but chases all the larger birds out of the magnolia!
Park eagle nest report----stopped near almost invisible nest yesterday PM. While creeping between some trees to get a view of sorts, saw an adult fly in to the nest! When I could see some of the nest, part was covered by green leaves, so couldn't see whole birds (some brown blobs) or much of the action.I was hoping to maybe see some branching, but did see flapping in the nest.
MORNIN' MAGPIE & NATURENUT!!--This probably is the first cool day our BABY has had for quite a few days!! ho!---She probably thinks she is in heaven! ho!
SUNDAY FORCAST FOR NCTC NEST...This Afternoon Mostly sunny. Highs around 70. Northwest winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. » ZIP Code Detail Tonight Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 40s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph...diminishing to around 5 mph after midnight. AMEN:)
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!! To all of you eagle mothers. And human mothers alike. Very windy here today. Allergies kicking in real bad. Drugs work. Have a good day.
Don't know why this cam guy has her on both screens, there is another cam in that room, if he wants to have her on both cams, at least you would have 2 different views
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL MOMSTERS!Getting a late start today....recuperatimg from busy last few days! Slept in a little and then took my time reading papers. Shuttle launch scheduled for 2pm Monday....don't imagine we'll be able to see it here during the daylight. Too bad. They had some lovely shots of it on the launch pad on CBS Sunday Morning show...took pics of it...will see how they turned out when I download! Hope everyone has a lovely day! I'll be hanging around, off and on!
well she is eating some and using some for nesting material, Lynn, but I have no gut feeling either way, she acted like this the last 2 years, so "it is what it is"
yes, Deb,he does, but has been doing it for many years, so we are both used to it. he will be in Boston next month and in Chicago for 2 weeks in July, thinking I will fly out for the in between weekend then, someone says they can get us Cubs tickets, would love to see the Cubbies play
That would be fun. I was almost done mowing and my neighbor had to come outside and smoke his dumb cigars. You would think he would catch on. He comes out to smoke, I go in. :(

I do believe that we forgot to wish Hidey a happy 8-week birthday yesterday! Was just looking at his hatching pic...from a tiny ball of fuzz to this big juvie...wow!
Good afternoon everyone. Glad to be back home. I haven't gotten to see Andrew yet today but he gets off work at 6 so I will see him shortly after that. All 4 of my four-legged children are tickled to have me back home. Thelma and Buddy are on their way back to Bedford. Andrew dog-sat for us and Buddy got loose yesterday morning and was gone for about 2 1/2 hours. I was scared to death. Didn't even tell Thelma about it until Buddy came back home.
It has been a very lovely day for me and for everyone else I am hoping. Took me a while to find Hidey!!!!!! My heart skipped a couple of beats until I saw the dark wing stretch out behind the adult.
Hornby chicks are alone at the nest. Looks like big sis is taking care of little bro!
Love your dog! I probably mentioned before that we had an all white Samoyed. He was a house dog because we got him as a small pup right before Xmas--too cold to stay out. We had 2 other similar dogs previously, but they weren't purebred.
WOW! Hornby adult flew in with food just after the smallest eaglet did a poop shoot. The sound of the wings coming down was awesome. Lots of chirping now going on with the feeding. Can't ID what it is for dinner...
Thank you! Leonidas (Leo for short) is a white german shepherd x. I think he is part Great Pyrenees (double dew claws, long soft hair). He was my foster for 6 months. I could not bear to part with him so i adopted him. He's 2 1/2 years old, we think.
Thanks to all the wonderful Mothers that brought all you great and special people onto the planet! And thanks for the Dads that played a big part too !
I'm sorry for the sadness that goes with this kind of day, and on birthdays, and things. My mother died in 1993 so it has been a little while. I miss her, and am always proud of myself when a big part of her comes through in my personality.
For example, she liked to say, Thank you ever so much -
so, my friends, Thank you ever so much, for your friendship ! ♥ I had a blessed afternoon with my grandson and his other grandmother and one other person.
Time for my pre-midnight nap, only have six hours on this return shift, so I guess it won't be too bad.
Prayers for wellness, safe travels, peace, and comfort xo ☺ ♥
Good evening! Hope everyone has had a pleasant day. Laurel and family left several hours ago. We had fun! They tried NOT to make me laugh and start coughing. Oh, I sound awful when I cough. Laurel and boys had birdfeeder for me that they made. It is really cute I'll have to take a picture of it. First I have to find a place to hang it.
One of the humming birds hatched. Have been watching it some. So tiny!
Sounds nice Lolly. We've had a gorgeous day here...about time! And yesterday was pretty too! My backyard is finally drying out with the nice sunshine yesterday and today...
Thanks, Lynn. I was so surprised to look over and see it. It was about 10 feet away from me. I had never seen one in these colors, just a juvie at the Christmas Bird Count.
We had a beautiful day. We have the house open. We turned on the AC Friday as it was getting so warm and humid, and had it on for the first time at night. But yesterday it cooled off. Heat and humidity are coming back this week.
We were thinking of you today Paula. Know it must have been rather hard this your first Mother's Day without.....
I saw that feathery stick, too, Paula, before I shut down cam for the night (before Spidey could make an appearance!). Interesting! Thanks, Paula...it was Dana's b-d, too.
Yes, Lolly, in the woods for sure!! I'll get a pic of the house up tomorrow.
I go around and tell my trees how much I appreciate them. LOL We have some big oaks, but we have also lost quite a few. We planted pecan trees 35 years ago and every time we loose an oak we plant new ones.
05/11/09: At night we sometimes see only one eaglet lying in the nest. It's likely the other eaglet (probably Chesapeake) is roosting in the tree with a parent.
I wanted to drop in and say HAPPY MOTHERS DAY even though it is late.
I know it is getting late. Sorry I haven't been in yesterday evening or today. Others things have been happening that "ONLY GOD CAN CARRY" while myself, relatives and friends of a wonderful married couple can only shade "TEARS". They lost their 1st child at full term. Last night 10PM. The baby is a girl. Rear...blood cloth in the cord.
My heart has been very heavy. For our nephew and his wife. He said "I got my girl" and she is beautiful..... So sad.
Pecan crops vary every year. Last year was very dry at the wrong time. The year before we had a LOT of rain. Also, for some reason the squirrel population was down. LOL Jack uses a low voltage wireing system and circles each of the trees with two wires. Will not injure a squirrel but discurages them from climbing the trees.
Back from my Grandson's graduation and party. First thing I read was the death of Dana's nephew's baby. I was just playing with a 1 year old at Denise's and he was so dear. Now I feel sad for Dana and her family. Prayers for all of your family. It is so hard to loose a baby.
yes, she is going home with Ceil, I talked to MM tonight, will probably go up, when she is released from hospital. I think in a few days I can drive farther, than I have been...good night for real:), just checked Mei, she seems really quiet tonight
Good Mother's Day Evening, everyone, and Dana heartfelt prayers for this young couple who I know through the fire department of course. I learned of this early this morning and it is has been heavy on my heart all day. God takes care of the little ones, heaven has gained a new little angel, and now prayers of comfort for the dear parents. And for you, and all the family.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day:) Lolly, I did see the Momma bear and her cubs last night, but, I didn't know there were ANY cubs! I was mesmerized...couldn't stop watching. They were there for a long time:)
GOOD MORNING YA'LL...its a rainy day in Ga again. not complaining. I planted lots of flowers this weekend.. this will surely halp. But, of course all the rain we are going to have this week my wash it all away...oh woe. hope everyone has a great weekend and you are looking forward to a great week!!!
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!---Our ADORABLE--AWESOME--INTELLIGENT EAGLET is certainly enjoying this COOL weather!---She was an early riser this am---waiting to be fed!!---a cloudy morning--with grey skies---threatening weather -- rain & thunderstorms---Here in WILD & WONDERFUL WV---'HOME OF BELLE & LIBERTY---parents of BIG BIRD!'-----The DOGWOOD--RHODODENDRON & WILD FLOWERS are just breath-taking!!----Makes one happy to be alive!!---LOVE!--LAUGH! & ENJOY THIS GLOROUS DAY!!---LIFE IS GOOD!!!---GIVE THANKS!!
I mean stuck. The parent keeps going from one side of the nest to the other and the baby is stuck. Can't tell if it is stuck on the talon or what!!!! OMG, I can't watch!!

Happy Mothers Day Good Morning to Everyone!
Lovely day out today. Looks like baby Hidey is snoozing.
Just had to come back to say I just saw Mom feed the two eaglets at the Maine2 nest. Cool!

Just almost saw the eggs at Finland Osprey when I came back to the computer. ☺
Well, I am completing one year as a Momsters, because I remember when Loretta was posting about the Resident Wrens last year, story and pictures ☺
Brown Blobs, yep, that's what baby eaglets look like a lot of the time.
Time to get ready for the day, going to pick up the grandson for a double grammy visit (his "real" maternal one and Me- the Step-maternal one)
Wonderful Day Wishes to Everyone.
Thanks, Jim - for your Adobe tip, will have to try that later one ☺
Adult in and out I take it....wah, I missed it while I was here yakking.
xox ☺ ♥
Finland Water, I meant to say, we know they are Ospreys - duh !
xoxo
someone is right above Hidey
Too cute, Mits
Hidey has great neck muscles...
Eaglet and Megan will have to battle the wind today
TTFN really, for sure, now
xo
Daniel's Panda Cam has a tribute to meet the mothers and maybe mother to be!
He has pics of our panda mothers!
Cool!
I am going to get some mowing done. I did get yesterday's pictures posted.
Good afternoon all.
Thinking of Paula today. First Mother's Day without her mom.
Hugs,
Paula
yes, Ceil big hugs for Paula, always hard....
well Mei Xiang looks like her old self this a.m., begging at the door for treats....
Helen one of the OK cams is alright
Got to get dressed. Going out.
it is now, Ceil, but was not working earlier, have a nice brunch
Darn, the grass is still too wet, back to waiting.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!
To all of you eagle mothers. And human mothers alike. Very windy here today. Allergies kicking in real bad. Drugs work.
Have a good day.
thanks, Ricky
Mei is back in the birthing den
Looks like she is trying to dig a hole, doesn't it?
yes it does...
Don't know why this cam guy has her on both screens, there is another cam in that room, if he wants to have her on both cams, at least you would have 2 different views
I timed out right after I typed that, now she just seems restless.
great she is climbing the walls
She is trying to climb the wall!
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL MOMSTERS!Getting a late start today....recuperatimg from busy last few days! Slept in a little and then took my time reading papers.

Hope everyone has a lovely day! I'll be hanging around, off and on!
Going to try mowing again.
I got further this time, now I wait for more to dry out. :(
Mei looks like she is quite comfortable even tho' it's an awkward looking position......come on, girl, give us a cub!!
Chowing down on pieces of her bamboo blanket!!! Probably NOT an encouraging sign, huh, Mits?
My ((((hugs)))) to Paula, too, on this difficult day. We love you, gal, and are thinking about you.
well she is eating some and using some for nesting material, Lynn, but I have no gut feeling either way, she acted like this the last 2 years, so "it is what it is"
I remeber the 1st Mom's day without my Mom, could not go into the card stores, think I let hubby get the card for his mom that year.
That it is, Mits! C'est la vie. We can only hope!
I had almost a full year to adjust to Mother's Day, but that last one was the worst, knowing it was the last one.
yes Deb, sure that was really rough.
well hubby just left on his way back to Dallas.
Hidey is flapping away!
That was a short weekend for him, does he get tired of traveling all the time?
I still feel very sad on Fathers' Day, Mits. Wish so much that he had lived to know his granddaughters and great gd's, too.
Mei is in a weird position.
yes, Deb,he does, but has been doing it for many years, so we are both used to it. he will be in Boston next month and in Chicago for 2 weeks in July, thinking I will fly out for the in between weekend then, someone says they can get us Cubs tickets, would love to see the Cubbies play
yes Lynn, miss Dad too. He would go wild over the M&M girls
Always special Dad/Granddad bonds with girls!
Chicago in July....probably not as bad as DC!!! Cool breezes off the lake, I imagine.
That would be fun. I was almost done mowing and my neighbor had to come outside and smoke his dumb cigars. You would think he would catch on. He comes out to smoke, I go in. :(
The Cubs game is what I was referring to as fun, always forget you can't read my mind!
Redoubt Update:
The 2009 eruption of Redoubt continues. Seismicity has been at low levels over the past several days. The growing lava dome at the summit may be increasingly unstable. An explosive event could occur with little or no warning.
Rock falls continue from the lava dome. Hut webcam views showed incandescence at the dome again last night between approximately 11:30 pm on May 9th and 3 am May 10. The source of the incandescence is hot lava dome material which is exposed as blocks of the lava dome slough off in rock falls.
Awww... Hidey is eating. :)
I am done mowing, all cleaned up and off to meet Mary. BBL
Welcome, Kea!
I do believe that we forgot to wish Hidey a happy 8-week birthday yesterday!
Was just looking at his hatching pic...from a tiny ball of fuzz to this big juvie...wow!
Hi everyone. Nice eagle in Maine on cam 1
Happy Mother's Day again to everyone. I am really missing my mommy today!
OK Everybody. Is Hidey in the smudge spot??? Think I see some toes near 5-6 o'clock
Hidey is behind Belle. I saw her stretch a moment ago.
Haooy Mother's Day all!
LOL - I meant to type Happy not Haooy!!!
Oh thank you so much, Gabriela. I was ready to call out the troops!
Happy Mom's Day again Jo.
Also thinking of Paula & hope she is w/her kids.
Windy up at our nest - Hidey in full view with adult.
Both cam views working now and are very clear in Oklahoma. Feeding time there also.
So cute. Both chicks at Hornby got feed. Think the food is something with bones. Beautiful when the parent flys in at that nest.
Thank you! Leonidas (Leo for short) is a white german shepherd x. I think he is part Great Pyrenees (double dew claws, long soft hair). He was my foster for 6 months. I could not bear to part with him so i adopted him. He's 2 1/2 years old, we think.
Hornby is just too cute!
Posted a pic on blog.
Love that sound w/other birds there too.
Hidey's eating again. This time getting help w/the smaller pieces. Gotta check OK. Couldn't see them for awhile-p-missed it.
I'll check back in a little while
6:00 news update........
BBL
Both parents at Hornby. One came in w/another flopping fish, then flew away!
H parent is digging fluff in nest bowl while 2 fish flop at other side.
Well, I had this thought while I was out:
Thanks to all the wonderful Mothers that brought all you great and special people onto the planet! And thanks for the Dads that played a big part too !
I'm sorry for the sadness that goes with this kind of day, and on birthdays, and things. My mother died in 1993 so it has been a little while. I miss her, and am always proud of myself when a big part of her comes through in my personality.

Prayers for wellness, safe travels, peace, and comfort xo ☺ ♥
Happy Mother's Day!!
Flowers for all the Moms out there :)Talked with both my kids on the phone, Michael is back at school, and John is working. It's been a nice day.
Gotta run out to the store...bbialw
Belle is in the nest...standing by the launchpad...Hidey is at 10ish, doing some preening
Hmmm, looks like a nestover at 6ish??
Hidey is working on the nestover now...not sure what it is
Belle is picking at the fluff right at Hidey's feed...or maybe trying to pick up the scraps...
Hmmm that might be Liberty
I think it's a fish
Pauls is that Lib or Belle trying to steal the food back.
i was thinking Lib. Belle would wait.
Parent is gone....Hidey is headed towards the bowl....it looks freshly dug out
Time for dinner...bbialw
I think it was Lib...but it's left in the nest at 7ish...can see the tail on the fish now.
Nature is on PBS right now...loggerhead turtles...
Lib was just back in the nest....
Fish is gone.
Hidey really looks big! His feathers are coming in so pretty.
So tiny!
Whoops! Jack just invited me outside. Can not pass that up!
BBIALW
Jo, don't forget, Cold Case is the continuation of last week!! Season finale, too! The Unit is also season finale.
Posted a bunch of pics to Lynns' Lair.
Deb, enjoyed your pics! The night heron is lovely....had never heard of it before Andrea told us about hers.
Very nice family pictures, Lynn! It looks like you had a wonderful birthday dinner!
Lynn, I loved your pics! You live in the woods!!! How great is that! I want to see a pic of your house. Oh, and I enjoyed meeting your "kids"!
Look at that stick in the nest....looks like it has a feather on the end
Hidey is laying in the bowl
Sounds nice Lolly. We've had a gorgeous day here...about time! And yesterday was pretty too! My backyard is finally drying out with the nice sunshine yesterday and today...
Paula, that can be our wind sock!
Oh, I see I missed Lynn's birthday yesterday, duh!
Happy Birthday Lynn!
Thanks, Lynn. I was so surprised to look over and see it. It was about 10 feet away from me. I had never seen one in these colors, just a juvie at the Christmas Bird Count.
And Dana too!
Happy Birthday Dana!
Deb....enjoyed looking at your pictures as well. You are quite the wildlife photograhper!! Your pictures are right up there!
Hummer is off her nest!!!
Well, she is back on the nest.
Lolly, it was hard, but nice to be at my Mom's today ♥
Thanks, Lolly.
I have had a long weekend, so I am heading to bed and read. Night everyone.
That would be great! I would love to be in a really wooded area. We have trees, but big trees are rare around here.
Goodnight, Deb....hope you have a good work-week.
I go around and tell my trees how much I appreciate them. LOL We have some big oaks, but we have also lost quite a few. We planted pecan trees 35 years ago and every time we loose an oak we plant new ones.
Lolly, do you sell the nuts or keep them? My Grandma always used to shell them and send my Mom bags of pecans for her holiday baking.
Gnite Deb.
Nice pics Lynn, your beds look nice. Would love to see a pic of your house, too!
Jack shells them and then we bag and freeze. Laurel has them in her freezer as ours is full.
Last year we did not get pecans but the year before we had 43 gallon bags of pecans.
We give as gifts. Do not see any.
Nice pics, Deb.
BWE update...
Nest Update
05/11/09:
At night we sometimes see only one eaglet lying in the nest. It's likely the other eaglet (probably Chesapeake) is roosting in the tree with a parent.
That is "sell"!
Yum, nice gifts Lolly! How come you didn't get any last year?
Thanks, Lolly, took me a couple minutes to figure that out! LOL
I did watch the ending of Cold Case - for a moment I thought this week's was going to be continued! Ended really well! I enjoyed it!
Pretty flowers, Margy!
I wanted to drop in and say HAPPY MOTHERS DAY even though it is late.
I know it is getting late. Sorry I haven't been in yesterday evening or today.
Thank you Jo I just can't stop crying. In time I will I know.
prayers go out to the parents:(
Dana, that is so hard. Prayers for the family!
So sorry, Dana...it is so difficult to lose a baby....very sad...my condolences and prayers for all of your family.
Back from my Grandson's graduation and party. First thing I read was the death of Dana's nephew's baby. I was just playing with a 1 year old at Denise's and he was so dear. Now I feel sad for Dana and her family. Prayers for all of your family. It is so hard to loose a baby.
