I'm surprised that Steve had nothing to say this morning. Maybe he knows nothing more than we do, at this point. He must not 'TAKE HIS WORK HOME WITH HIM';)
Thanks Steve & Mits for alerting me to this new thread. STEVE - hopefully we will get a video of the Lift Off Of Hidey from the NCTC/FWS video tomorrow! We are so anxious to see that! Thanks!
Capt. Eagle just called and will be home soon. I need to get some make-up on and put on my SAFARI outfit...musn't forget the hat;) Don't think I'm going to make it to church. I have played around too long:(
Welcome to all of you who are joining us for the excitement. If you wish to watch short videos of Hidey - go to a posting from DEB and click on her name. Choose the Nest Pictures under her blogs. It is a good showing of what we have been watching this season and why we love this little one so much.
Others also have videos and photos under their blogs.
Steve only knows what he sees like we do when he is home....sure he is not sitting at computer watching all day, he will probably know more tomorrow when he returns to work
Morning, Everybody!! Just seen the Ospreys for the first time - Kinda helps fill the empty spot where Hidey's supposed to be - I can't believe how much I miss her!!! Anybody spot anything yet????
Hi Norma still losing oxygen although he is wearing it all day. Dropping sometimes into 60's but mostly dropping to like 73. We will get the rest of test June 10th and see dr. to find out what is what. Thank you for asking and the prayers.
MORNIN' BEAUX63--BLUEFIELD SHARON & DEB (careful on that ladder)!---DANA--I noticed the (?) from STEVE yesterday---so guess we all will have to wait---

Does anyone know how i could get a hold of NCTC,to see where our Eagle went i call him "Freedom" may sound stupid but oh well, if anyone know let me know so i can find out if they have the video, on his departure, also Thank Steve,
It will take some time to Edit the NCTC/FWS tape and then I am hoping that Steve will give us a link on the home page of this blog. We will need to have Eaglet Patience as the IT Dept won't have this as a #1 priority.
MORNIN' BIG AL!!---NCTC is not open Sat or Sun!---But they don't know anymore than we do---'FREEDOM' is a GREAT name for her!--I REFER TO HER as MIRACLE--(she is the survivor of 3 eggs laid)--They have video--but we aren't sure if they can pull it up--
MORNIN' GRANNYBLT!---Great to hear from you!---YEP!---She seems to have pulled one on us!!---ho!---SHE FLEDGED in the middle of the night!--COOL OR NOT!--(at least most think she has fledged)--
Good morning! Just a quick peek in before getting ready for church. Had hoped to see Hidey in the nest BUT I HEARD HER! Yea! So we know for sure it is her in the tree. Wahoo!
I work for a government entity myself, so I do know how that is. Sometimes someone listens when you say "it would be nice." Sometimes they don't. Doesn't hurt to try.
Good Sunday morning everyone. Looks like little Hidey has flew the coop. But give him a few days and he will be back wanting food from mom and dad. I'll bet he is close by right now. Sometimes it take a bit of practice to get back to the nest.
STRONGHUNTER---This complex is owned by NCTC--(NATIONAL CONSERVATION TRAINING CENTER)--Which happened to have this HUGE EAGLE NEST high up in a sycamore tree!!--They have been gracious enough to share their cam, etc with the public---When I first watched--It was still photos----'so that's why we feel we have come along way--baby' ho!---lots of folks ask the same thing you did!
Lake Washington eaglets cams is 3 hrs. behind us so it is still dark there but can hear them.
Libby Dam, Montana looks like one in nest resting and one eaglet on a branch.
Norfolk eaglets in nest. Nice black spot on cam.
Sooner Lake, Oklahoma only has at moment the far away cam working. Checking Maine Discussion Forum. They have nice pictures of the 1 eaglet. Doing wing exercising. So it is doing good.
Little eaglet Pengra as they have named. At Deschutes, Oregon is doing find. Can see it well and hear the "peek peeks" from it.
I'm up on a ladies room break, Stevie....surely heard that ♫ sound and think it sounded like our baby, a little distance away, at least away frm the Microphone
GOOD MORNING RED!!!---WOW!--It is so good to hear from you!!---how are you feeling--better--I pray!--YEP!---Looks like the 'LITTLE IMP' FLEDGED!---But all aren't sure!!---KEEP IN TOUCH!---miss you!
Yes, we most definitely have been hearing Hidey. She is peeping and whining! Maybe when I get home from church she will be back in the nest. Come on Hidey!
Welcome to all the Newbies! I do not remember so many Newbies last year at fledging time. They are popping up everywhere!
You see Hidey is trying to tell everyone "don't worry I am up here".
This project for a Eagle Cam has been from several people that work at NCTC. They have other jobs there. They decided to try to do something so people could see the Eagle Nest. It is NOT funded by Federal Govt. The National Conservation Training Center is a beautiful place. Yes it is a Federal Government facility. Is is not the Federal Government that said to these "special people at NCTC" to start this project and put up a cam. We appreciate the time and engery these people have taken to bring this about and maintain and improve this cam and for us to have this wonderful blog. So we and you can come together as one to enjoy these Eagles. Isn't is just wonderful!! ( :
Good morning, all! Glad to know that Hidey has been heard in the neighborhood of the nest - and am looking forward to seeing her stop by.
Thought I should mention in response to an earlier post that there's only one eaglet at the Libby Dam nest - the younger one died a couple of weeks ago for no apparent reason. :( He was quite a bit smaller, and as it's a refresh cam, it was hard to tell if he was getting fed as much as the older one. The remaining eaglet is a bit over five weeks old and doing great! And we do often see one of the adults perched on the other branches of the nest tree - Libby Dam is a great cam for watching branching eaglets!
We dropped by the Center yesterday about 6:00 pm. No sign of the fledgling, just an adult. I'm sure it's hanging around nearby, and its stomach will bring it back to the nest soon enough.
Thanks JudyB for the info. on Libby Dam so there is 1 eaglet there.
Hey Steve nice for you to drop in and tell us about you stopping at the nest. Thanks so much for your input and update. Now you've heard it from "the man himself" lol ( :
MORNIN' BIRTHDAY BOY!!!---HEY!--I think HEIDY aka MIRACLE---is probably shopping for a BIRTHDAY PRESENT for you!!---ENJOY YOUR DAY KID!!----LIFE IS GOOD!

she has probably been sitting in the tree the whole time, Wanda, it was really not a fly in, more like a drop in.....this is normal, parents with hold food so she can get lighter, and learn how to scrounge around for leftovers....American Bald eagle has tons of info on behavior of bald eagles...I'll try to find the link... a must read for new, and old viewers.
Wahoooooooooooooo!!!!!! What a glorious day!!!!! Hidey is back! Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just thought I would take a peek in before I leave for church. Hidey! I was so surprised!
Norma......the brunch was wonderful. We had a great time, great jab session, lots of laughter and good food. Even drug out the computer and showed my eagle nest to friends...no eagle, but nest. Now there is an eagle!
Gotta run. Jack and I are going to a jazz afternoon and wine tasting at a winery this afternoon. But I will get on before we leave.

the nest is on private federal government property, it is not their 1st priority, it is what it is:)
You are right Mits. Hopefully Wanda and Gene will be able to give us some info today.
I'm sure Steve will try to look too, Sharon:)

Good Sunday morning everyone. Looks like little Hidey has flew the coop. But give him a few days and he will be back wanting food from mom and dad. I'll bet he is close by right now. Sometimes it take a bit of practice to get back to the nest.
Steve had always had on his Wish List a Wide Range cam for the nest.
Can't be easy to climb up to that nest to install and maintain a camera.

just heard her.
Then they have to put up with all of us watchers, but we do serve a purpose, and it is good PR.
Hello Red! Hope all is well and thanks for checking in on us!
Headed out the door for Market... and maybe a side trip before coming home.
I'll touch base as soon as I return..

they try to reset the cam view in October, before the eagles start their serious nestorations....
Hey!!Just heard Hidey!!Sounded just like her!
have fun Jo:)
she has probably been learning how to branch the last 24 hours.
The light is a nice touch. At first I wondered about how it might bother the eagles, but I understand they can't see it.
I'm up on a ladies room break, Stevie....surely heard that ♫ sound and think it sounded like our baby, a little distance away, at least away frm the Microphone

Change in plans. We are going to the lake, get on the boat and freeze our tails off. I wasn't going but Andrew called and asked me to so . . .
yes..and ticks. I also enjoy the air conditioning and my soft sofa.
Morning again. Just heard something on the mike and a peep.
Stronghunter we have a great time.
have fun Sharon...
Just finished the last of the priming. Now it looks like rain, so I am in to check the radar. I would really like to get done today.
Deb as I said I would help but I am the worse painter.
Rain is north of me, but quite a ways away. The clouds are just dark. We aren't supposed to get any rain, so hopefully it will blow over.
Good morning, all! Glad to know that Hidey has been heard in the neighborhood of the nest - and am looking forward to seeing her stop by.

Speaking of getting done. I have things to do. Have a great day all. We have beautiful sun here in downtown Baltimore.
thanks, Judy B :)
still cloudy here at the beach Ceil
We dropped by the Center yesterday about 6:00 pm. No sign of the fledgling, just an adult. I'm sure it's hanging around nearby, and its stomach will bring it back to the nest soon enough.
I am, too, Ceil, but it needs done so bad. I do like being outside, but today the gnats are horrible, I would like a little wind today.
Thanks for the update, Steve.
thanks, Steve:)
Steve, thanks for the update!
** Good Morning **
** Everybody **
Thanks to you all for the B-Day greetings in advance ... I'm about to open AOL to check on them....
Last night before I went to bed Hidey was clumpin on the cam pretty regularly. Has he been doing that at all recently??

Thanks STEVE---We appreciate hearing your opinion!!!
I don't do paint:) tried it once, did not like it:)
yes, Jim, she has been whiny all a.m.
Thanks JudyB for the info. on Libby Dam so there is 1 eaglet there.
Hey Steve nice for you to drop in and tell us about you stopping at the nest. Thanks so much for your input and update. Now you've heard it from "the man himself" lol ( :

BULL DOG PUPPIES
I think I also need to make a correction on my comment of 10:31am this morning. Lake Washington is 3 hrs. behind us BUT NO SOUND. So I couldn't have hear them lol
It is one of the sites listed on my "No Sound Sites". Correction made.
yes, thanks, Judy. I was the one wondering what had happened at Libby Dam. I like that nest, you can see into the distance.
MORNIN' LOLLY!---I think I missed saying GOOD MORNING!---I wondered if your BRUNCH went well!---DO know the FOOD WAS SCRUMPTIOUS--what more can I say!!! ho!
Oops, I see Dana was wondering today about Libby, I asked a couple of days ago.
Large bird shaped shadow just over the nest. Tried to land on a small branch.
Did you just see the shadow of the eaglet above landing on a limb??????
Wasn't too bad of a landing.
Thanks Mits for the Bulldog Link.
Love that face tee hee
Come on down Hidey we know it is you!!!!!
Yes. And saw it again. Still there.
Welcome home, Hidey.
Hidey!!

Yummy food good
Steve was right. Hidey's stomach brought her home. Just like a teenager with a new driver's license.
saw her---then my cam froze!---sending her to her nest---no tv for a week!---YOU ARE GOING TO BE THE DEATH OF US ALL!!----WAY TO GO!
YEP!---YOU GOT SPUNK 'HEIDY' aka 'MIRACLE'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the way it always happens. Still even us that are not new at watching. We just can't wait to see this take place. Our eaglet is home.
WELLL, LOOK WHO'S BACK!:) Hungry as a bear. Hearts can go back to chest and out of throat, you all;)
Good morning to all! When did our little one get back? I am so excited! I just yelled at my hubby and told him, "SHE'S BACK!" Whooo! Hoooooo! Hope everyone is doing well on this beautiful Sunday!
Yea Hidey!! Good to see you back! We know you are safe and well!
To tell the truth, now that Hidey is back...I was a little concerned, because I didn't think he had enough practice at hovering and flying back and forth. Glad I was wrong.
Hidey is home!!!
Best morning to you Dana, Wanda, Mits, Hedgie Lynn, Steve, Norma & Bibee... Everyone must be so happy to see this precious one. ☺
LOL, Shirley!
Good Morning, Lori...we can all settle down now;)
Good morning, Wanda. Guess you don't have to venture out to the nest again today.
How good it is to look at cam and not see an MT nest!!! Hidey, wish you could tell us all about your experience!
Good morning Wanda.
WOW - Thank you Lord that Hidey is safe. This gives us more confidence in her for the next time.
I'm sure you're all sitting here with a big smile on your face just like I am. YEAH!
she has probably been sitting in the tree the whole time, Wanda, it was really not a fly in, more like a drop in.....this is normal, parents with hold food so she can get lighter, and learn how to scrounge around for leftovers....American Bald eagle has tons of info on behavior of bald eagles...I'll try to find the link... a must read for new, and old viewers.
Oh Lynn that would be the coolest if she could tell us of her adventure.
I bet she's glad to be in her nest with food!
Happy Birthday to you, Jim...
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Jiiiiimmmmmmm
Happy Birthday to you!
Mits,
it is amazing what nature knows that we often forget she knows.
SHE is just like our COLLEGE KIDS----only difference---the EAGLITS--- DON'T BRING THEIR LAUNDRY HOME!! ho! LOVE EM!
BBL And have a glorious Sunday!!
HEDGIE!---GOOD IDEA!!
Mits you got the right words "it was really not a fly in, more like a drop in".Remember I said "splat"!
That eaglet truly did not fly in. lol
Hotdog!!! The baby has returned. I am thrilled. New to the blog but have been reading for weeks. I have learned a great deal from all of you. Thanks
:D
There is our girl!!! Hooray!!!
sing a song of home & sky
Anyone see when she arrived? If I read I will find out actually...
WOW!---Those sounds are MUSIC to my ears!!---ho!
Whining for more food.
just got a hold of Sharon on her way to the lake:)
BALD EAGLE INFO
OH LORDY!----I hope BLUEFIELD SHARON has heard the GOOD NEWS!!---
lots of answers to questions about eagles and their young:)
Dana, Lolly, Itl, Mits, Hedgie, Wanda, Norma - you all have a beautiful day . . .
I'm afraid to take my eyes off the screen but there's work - well, gardening to do. BBL
have fun, Lori:)
Lori now you will enjoy going outside and doing your gardening ( :
Screaming and looking up into tree. Hidey says, "I came down. Now you two come down here with more food!!!"
WONDER how long her visit will be?
Yelling MORE! MORE! now!---ho!
Margy wake up. Hidey is back. GLad I stopped in before going to the store. Now I just heard something by the mic and Hidey is in the nest.
Thanks Steve. I have been watching since 2006 but was a lurker for a long while.
Parent in the nest!
Food! Food!
Lunchtime in the nest! Yummm!
Eaglets are like children. Everyone is different.
Parent flew into nest with food. Hidey has the food in her/his talcons. Yet letting Parent feed it other food.
Just dropped by quickly to see how things were & see that little one is back & ok. Relieved. Happy to meet you Hidey.
Looks like one hungry eaglet!
I remember the first year when they had fledged but one night 3 eaglets mom and dad were eating in the nest. They were having a goodbye dinner.Memories. Megan will put a song on later.
Very hungry!
Think that is Belle and she keeps looking around for Lib. Lib bring more food.
Wow, very large bird; Hidey must be female.
CEIL!---Very Clever!!---I was thinking the same thing---about reading the book on EAGLES--just like reading a BABY BOOK! ho!---I still remember the long nights of reading---ho!
SAFIRE---I think she is female!!
Norma the book did not help. LOL
These feedings by parents will continue even when the eaglet is not in the nest.
also remember this cam has a tendency to distort the closer you are to cam, Paula says the eaglet is the same size as Lib, so she changed her mind to thinking it is a male
From what I've read females are larger than males & am wondering if that is Dad in nest with Hidey.
Sorry before I said that someone was on the mic. Think it was Hidey chewing on a bone.
Isn't it just magical (designed by God) how the parent knows how to care for their young.
