Steve, have you been at the University? I remember when I was 12 ( a l-o-n-g time ago!), my dad (State Department) had to go there for training of some sort for a month. Government must like the place!

Good morning all. Did not sleep well last night. The rain was so heavy and the lightening. This morning the sun almost came out. There is suppose to be a rocket set off from Wallops Island tonight between 8 and 11 if it clears. Paper said we might be able to see it.
Norma, my dad worked for the State Department (downtown DC) at the Agency for International Development. Early in his career he was an attache' to the Embassy in New Delhi, India---we were there when I was 2.

I had not even watched the PA falcons since she laid the first egg. Now there are all kinds of fur balls! And lots of feathers laying everywhere. I know where they can find a couple of good starlings! :)

It looked to me as though Hidey were in trouble a few minutes ago... head was caught in a loop of twigs at edge of nest. Am I right? Thank goodness she's okay now!
Mema Jo and Paula Eagleholic....looks to me like Hidey is eating that paper???? I'm sneaking a peak at her while everyone is at lunch....gotta get back to work!! LOL

Hi all! Finally home from the doctors. I left shortly after nine and I just got home! Grrr! Went from the doctors office to the hosp. for a chest x-ray and then the pharmacy to meds. I am now on strong antibiotics and codene for the cough. And, an inhaler! She said I was having bronchial spasms. Hmmmmm! Do not know the results of the x-rays yet but Carol said she "didn't like the sound" when she listened. Right now I just want to nap!
We know a good lawyer, Helen, but I don't think he would fight the Smithsonian Bueracracy. We'd have to get a public defender. But, who's gonna tell? Just don't get caught;)

Conn osprey cam is down again:(
Mary I fortunately didn't see that happen! Was eating lunch..

Jo loved your sunshine song. All three of us used to sing it to Maggie and dance. She loved it.
Hope Mei does have a little one. Field trip.
Hey Deb.
Well it is raining hard here and thundering.
I have sun here, now. I put out a hummingbird feeder, now sure if I will get any takers, but thought I would try it.
Hi, Ceil!
we are having sun and thunder here.
Mei Xiang is really fussy today
Have to go, bbl.
Good luck with the feeder Deb.
Sun seems to be out at the nest, Norfolk.
Hornby chicks in site. Dad in nest with them I think. Hammering is terrible. Think it is annoying them.
Mei is resting and Tai is eating bamboo outside.
Off to do some chores.
Might have been looking for crumbs on that paper...or taste testing? I did actually see leaves in his mouth, but he spit them out.
Mei is snacking on her beloved sweet potatoes
Tai is up a tree
I had a thought! Tai could be sent up into our Sycamore tree to wipe away the smudge! lol
He climbs so fast and so high - I just know he's our answer!
Still watching Panda cam - fruit cycles
BBL
Oh! Didn't know about the sweet potato!
Eggs in view at BWO - both osprey were just there
Osprey back and eggs covered up.
Hidey is up enjoying the breeze.

Big shopping center gas explosion in Forestville, MD---where Loretta lives---with 5 firefighters injured along with some evacuees and a gas company worker. Sure hope Loretta is at work and not out shopping!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...ER,AFTERNOON!
I'm not ignoring you all, just can't seem to get caught up on anything. Excercises, washing clothes and sleeping have gone to the wayside. Trying very hard to catch up while we are having all this rain. My grass must look like Bluefield Girl's Hay Field!
BWE cam is more slightly tilted to the left...either that, or the kids have been kicking those sticks off the left side of the nest...
Gotta surprise this afternoon....Bill called and said installers could do kitchen and bath carpet today...rushed my butt off trying to get everything out of the way....and they are working on it now. It will free me up for tomorrow for shopping trip w/ my youngest.
My grass looks atrocious...haven't been able to mow at all in the evenings cause of the rain.
Gene says, if Mei has a cub, Helen can borrow it and bring it to our Open House in October. They do loan out animals don't they, Helen?
Good shots of the Norfolk intrusion. Did you notice how many times the photos have been viewed already??
LOL Hidey is about blending in with the nest...look carefully!
I am waiting on the jerk neighbor to say something to me about my grass. It is really tall and growing inches a day. Hopefully, somebody grass cutting fairy will cut it this weekend while I am gone.
I did have to look twice before I saw Hidey. Really good camouflage!
Where are you headed, Sharon? To the new place Andrew is going to go to school?
No, Lynn, I am going to a spiritual retreat at Cedar Lakes in Ripley, WV. I go twice a year, May and October/November. It is so beautiful and peaceful and spiritual there! :)
Link to Mason's Recent Update Our candles are working!!!

tee-hee, Wanda, does Gene know a good lawyer, if I pull off that scheme?
I really should go with you Sharon!
It has been a rough year!
Hidey is eating a bird -
WOW Sharon
I think it is the starling!!!!
WHOO-HOOO ON THE STARLING! WAY TO GO!
Raining in Bluefield again. Neighbor just watered those trees again. He is such a dufus!
Hey sister what about my office.
Great pictures of the attack on NBG. Wish that they were not getting attacked again this year.
OMG, my heart cannot take this, Hidey!
Way too early to be standing on the daggone launch pad and flapping wings.
Almost blew the paper/plastic out of the nest but not quite.
MAN Looks like a "take off" practice!
forgot about that Ceil, we will just tell your boss, I was borrowing a relative;)
Look at her!
Got IT!
Sharon and Jo I feel the same way. Have a hard time watching that klutzy little bird.
Love it when it looks like she is
Tippy Toeing around the nest!
Whoops!
As large as Hidey looks I can remember all 3 in the nest about the same size last year doing all that dancing!
She really did a BIG jump!
Getting about time for me to head on out of here. I'll be back bright and early in the morning. Maybe the rain will change directions tonight. SEE YA!!!
Hopefully it will be early dinner soon or nap time = Can't take too much more of these shenanigans!
GA Girl - we do have some blue skies and sunshine now. But more rain coming I think. Have a good evening
I am thinking that we will never get used to the wing flapping and jumping on the nest and fears of falling out. Seems like it would get easier but it sure isn't yet!
Oh Lolly! We are all so glad to hear from you! You didn't wait a minute to late to get all fixed up with your meds!
Rest is for healing! Talk to you later.

Family gathering in the nest!
Adult in the nest going to town preparing dinner! Defuring I think!
Thanks for the alert, Double E-W
Glad I was sleeping for all the heart attack action today!
Any idea what's for dinner, Sharon?
Goodness, latest chow, includes some plucked feathers ! Is that a new bird or the one from earlier ?
Oh Boy, guts... :(
I have no idea. I was hoping you knew Mema Jo. It is really big and a mammal.
Double E-S! not E-W ! sorry about that !
That little birdie is going to be gone in no time.
Couldn't tell if it was being defeathered or defurred!
That is ok, Magpie. Figured you were thinking of me as an EWWIEE! :)
Good to hear from Lollly !
A couple of days of napping and medicines, and she will be her 'ole talkative self again ! ☺
Megan
My flowers are finally getting some Full Sun ! Got any leftover mud pies? I need to pack lunch soon ! ☺
Ooh, wonder what they are munching on now..tasty!
Glad I dont live under that nest. What a cannon shot
On No, Sharon, not that, but a Double Eagle Woman! For Sure ! xoxox
Ricky, when we went in October (off-season for eaglets), Sissy took a picture of the poop shoots on the ground.
Ricky - Hidey really might be here until the first part of June. She needs to get rid of more down feathers! BUT
you're right - she is getting ready!!!
Mema !
I loved the You Are My Sunshine link from earlier! Nice way to wake up
time to find the Fairy, see you all in a little while
Hi Everyone ! ☺
Good save Magpie! :) You know I love ya even if you did think of me as an EEWWIEE!
What an absolutely beautiful Eagle...
maybe that is fur, not feathers....Yum !
Lolly hope the medicine makes you feel better soon.
Margy have a good night at work.
Hi everyone else.
Off to check on dinner.
Well, that is just gross!
Once while I was hunting I found the remnants of a rabbit spread over about two feet. Bones and hair and not much of it. And we only have hawks. It was a little scary. Never seen anything like that.
Hidey is really taking all this in!
Couldn't find her for a while - but she is right there beside the adult!
I'd say that is serious business in preparing that dinner! lol
We have hawks too. They use my bird feeders as their bait box sometimes. I try to run them off when I see them. I still have a couple of starlings they are welcome to though! :)
THAT LOOKS LIKE FUR FLYING NOT FEATHERS...SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS...HEADING OUT....
Keep hoping that it bumps its head on the camera lens and wipes off that darn drop of moisture.
Back to the pandas- Tai has made a mess in his den and is still eating!
Mei is still flaked out flat! Keeping an eye on her!
Mema jo- Could you give the name of the panda site. I would like to check it out. Thnks
That should be a soft nest to sleep in tonight, lined with fur!
Hold on one minute Ricky
I'm getting it for you

Bibee, Hidey has been doing some wing-flapping today and giving us heart attacks. Belle is defurring something and feeding it to Hidey.
Good Evening Everyone...hope it's a good one.

I am home from work, need to eat and then I am heading out to Sioux City.
Lynn, how exciting to get new carpet! Lolly, glad you are home and resting and that you got meds to help you get better.

Deb, we are going to need the lawyer when Helen kidnaps the new panda cub that we hope we are going to have.
