Wow, it sounds like they all had a great day at the nest. I would have loved to be there, too. To see everyone, our beautiful Eagles and Megan's flowers!
can' stay long, puter in in Maggie's' BR, we are back from pizza, and the kids have stopped off to visit a friend before coming back to condo, hubby and I are exhausted, I have not set foot on the beach yet, by the time I was ready to go down, girls were back up for a nap, so I staid with them...glad you all had a nice visit...good night
Thought I would check back. Made the mistake of going outside to clean a window or two and you know what happens when I go outside. I forget everything else and stay outside! :)
How ya' doin' gals...good to get home and see some friendly faces.
Great on the tanager, Deb.... We saw male and female Baltimore orioles...they were singing along all day in the the trees near where we were hanging out watching the nest.
From 10 am until almost 3 pm, Belle was perched on a limb above the nest....the entire time! Hidey did a fair amount of moving around the nest, stretching his wings, and a few hops. Liberty dropped something off and then he was gone lickety-split. 30 mins later Belle left to the left of the nest tree away from the river, and then Hidey started eating whatever Liberty had dropped off.
You would have liked these cameras, Deb... Paula can tell you more about what they were, had some exotic zoom lens extenders, they also had a tri-pod set up, hope they know how to post the pics so you can see some of them. I'm sure a lot of everyone elses's pictures came out good too !
Okay, we are back in the room now. We had a wonderful dinner with the best of company. Then, we went back to the nest. At first, we saw glimpses of Hidey in the nest. Then, just as we were getting ready to leave, Lib came with food and Belle followed closely thereafter. Then Liberty took off for a little while. After Belle fed Hidey, she flew over to the tree to the right of the sycamore tree. Made my day complete. Did you all hear a horn blow twice a while ago??
I just read through the day's posts, and Lolly gave a good blow-by-blow. Ha Ha, the horn you heard at 1:20 was Mattie...she hit the RV horn by mistake. But right at 12 noon Wanda honked twice to alert everyone that lunch was being served. I saw the plane that Lolly heard a little after ten, and thought to myself, bet anyone watching the cam will hear that plane, and you did ! We missed all the ones that thought they might make it but could not, and everyone that was too far away to visit...but we thought of all of you often...☺
We were a little late getting to the nest site itself, so that's why you didn't hear us right at 10.
When Sharon gets back on tonight she will surely report what the three of them saw when the returned to the nest after dinner so I will leave a lot of room for her...
Megan... we surely missed you, kept hoping you could make it over for a little while...but with what you have going on, all your work, we understand.... A gardener's work is never done this time of year... xo
Lunch at the RV was awesome! Gene and Wanda are Master Chefs! Yum Yum... and the air conditioned luxury of the Eagle Express was indeed a welcome respite ☺
Thanks Wanda, Gene, Mema Jo, Lynn and everyone else for all your arrangements and preparations for this visit !!And Suzanne had the cutest Eagle WeeBean for each of us...and a key chain ☺
Glad you guys had such a great time:) Van is packed full of plants, I'm still working, just picked 77 peonies, got to sort them and get them refrigerated. bbl...
Dinner at the Tuscany Grill was very nice too, good food! We think we had "Michael's little sister and brother as our servers...☺ But I think they got the checks pretty much straight, after a couple of revisions ☺
Well we can almost assume that all of us are back in our nest - even Suzanne! Wanda & Gene, I hope, are relaxing as they were busy all day with us Momsters/Dadsters!
AWESOME TIME WAS HAD! What more can I say. I can't stop yawning since I sat down here. Hidey is Not about to be around much longer! Ten weeks old today!
Sharon, I was away from the computer for a while this evening. Went back at just the right time. Heard your toot toot. I din't think much of it, then I went wait a minute. I think they are back! Sure enough I could hear you talking!
I can see lightning towards WV, although radar shows the storms passing to the North of us. Hitting the hay, must get up with the chickens, actually, probably before the chickens... nite all, glad you had such a great time:)
Good Night Megan, Sharon, and anyone else headed for the pillows... busy day in all our Eagle Corners for sure!
Yes, Mema Jo created a new momsters photo album for this nest visit, is the second album on the first page of photos..got the ball rolling with my 14 humble little photos...starring some of my favorite people ☺
Thanks, Jo, for getting that ready for us ! ☺ Sure enjoyed meeting your son Michael today...
Gene and I are safely home, too. What a day we had! Nothing but fun all day long! We may have done most of our laughing in the Eagle Express. We didn't want to disturb or distress Hidey and Belle. Bless Belle's heart, she stayed right over top of Hidey nearly the whole time we were there! Gene said that if her feathers appear "Pink", she may be sunburned. Lolly, I did holler your name at some point this morning, but I can't remember when. You did enjoy your supper, but got a bit messy with your dessert. I'll show you a photo when I can find it:) Jo was accompanied by her handsome son, Michael. She does very well...wouldn't know that she had such a bad break in her leg such a short time ago! Next Road Trip we take will be to the Airport to see if she REALLY has a metal rod in her leg;);) Love you, Jo! It was so special to see Sharon, Mattie and Thelma again. Love those girls! Oh, almost forgot to mention...Mattie sang for us. Absolutely beautiful, sweet voice. Gene recorded it and as soon as I can figure out how to get it on my blog, I will let you know. Our new Momster, Lori fit right in with us and we are all anxious to see her photos, she also brought her friend, Kate. It was so good to see Suz again. Miss her on the blog.I could go on and on but you all will be in bed by the time I print everything I have to say, so I will stop story telling, for now. Oh, and thank you to Margy for being Hostess in the Eagle Express and to Lynn for helping pull this day together:)
Thanks again to everyone, here and there, all the encouraging remarks from our Momsters and Dadsters who couldn't be with us...and all at the nest visit. What a Fun Bunch! Yeah!
Paula, loved your pictures as well. Had not looked at your videos of the banding. Really enjoyed that! Can you imagine sitting in an eagle nest with two young eagles?! Wow!
Okay, have some cookies to bake and one more bathroom to clean. Yeah, I know, it is 9:30 here and I spent so much time on the computer and then in the yard that I did not get all my tasks accomplished!
Wanted to let you all know that at dinner the entertainment was superb! Our Eaglet Mattie Jane sang for us in the sweetest voice you ever heard. Sounded like an angel! Also chances were sold for 3 door prizes - Mattie and Jenny (Hedgie's granddaughter) took care of selling them at 2 for $1.00. It was great having the younger eaglets with us!
I have thrown a few PEOPLE photos on my JUST FOR FUN. Wanted you to see how good Sharon looks. I believe she has lost weight. Also, Lynn brought her sweet Granddaughter, Jenny (check out those baby blues!)
Hi Eagle buds! All caught up on everything. As always, a perfectly delightful day. Jenn and I got there first at 9:40 and found Belle sitting up above the nest in what would be about a 9 o'clock position from the cam....and she stayed there until after 3PM....so anyone who wonders about how well the parents tend, we know that Hidey is being watched carefully!!! (S)he performed wonderfully for us. Fun day, with great company and wonderful host/hostess in Gene and Wanda! Nice to meet Lori and Kate, and Jo's Michael. Missed those absent! Saw lots of lightening on way home with nasty looking sky---heard thunder when coming into house...and NO RAIN!! Very tired; like Jo, can't stop yawning! Will see y'all tomorrow! Rest well. Prayers for all in need, and special thanks to the Lord for providing us all with such lovely friends.
Checked out your pictures, Wanda. Also, Jack and I looked at your mystery rock. He wants to know where you found it. Any moisture involved? Are the crystals crumbly or hard? He always has questions!!! He has sent you an email.
Another Hairy woodpecker flew onto the patio this evening. This one was for sure a young one, just learning to fly. It flew into the french door, then started climbing the door frame. Jack tried to get it and it flew to the brick wall and started climbing. Tried to get it again and it flew off to a close by tree. Thank goodness. Then it called out for Mom.
Good night, everyone. I am home from dinner, found out I forgot a commitment I had made for tomorrow night. Even after I was reminded, I still don't remember making it. I apologized and had to ask if it involved staying in SF over night, because if it did I had no place to take the dogs. Luckily I was supposed to come home tomorrow night.
HI, EVERYONE! It's nearly 9:30 here in SoCal, so bet nobody's there-- it sounds like most of you had a fantastically busy but really fun day at the nest! Kept thinking about you all, and hoping you were enjoying yourselves to the MAX! I'm thinking you all have hit the pillow in near exhaustion by now. I've checked on Hidey, and am having trouble seeing her-- but I think I can see something moving at 3:00. She must be hanging on the side of the nest, or on a branch there. You guys got to see a LOT of our feathered buddies today, and I'm SO jealous!! That's fantastic! Hey, sounds like Steve had an amazing vacation! That's great. Welcome back! Gosh, I can't wait to see the pictures everyone took. I bet they're wonderful. Well, prayers being said for a good night's sleep for all, for renewed strength for everything that tomorrow will bring, renewed health, thanks for the blessings of friendship & fellowship, and thanks that the Lord speaks to His beloved in their sleep. G'night, all-- talk to you tomorrow! :o]
I had a stressful morning...I went over to my friend's house, whose husband is helping me fix my truck.
The stress of this morning was this: the little sister of one of my rescue group's volunteers (they live nearby) went missing for several hours. What this video clip doesn't say is that about 50 civilians (including me) walked, biked or drove around the neighborhoods for 2-3 hours looking for her. Also interesting is that each news station says something different about the whole thing.
Hi, Birdgirl. I wonder if the little girl received amnesty when she returned... I hope it really ended as happily as it sounded in that report.
Bookworm...I also noticed that Hidey was living up to his nickname earlier, and I was going to comment too, but I got sidetracked, and now that I'm back and ready to sign off, he has returned (at least he's in view now). He's flaked out and blowing zzzzzzz's in the bottom of the nest near 2 o'clock.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... I'm going to try to post Gene's videos this morning. They are such fun to watch, but it takes hours for them to post. Don't know why, but, IT IS WHAT IT IS;) I'll let you know when they are ready. Probably won't be til after we get back from church. Have a blessed Sunday and Sharon, Thelma and Mattie, have a safe trip home.
Good morning. So glad everyone had a great time. Have looked at some of the pictures. Thought of you all day long and wished I was there. Hope to be there for Open House in October. Have a great day. PS Glad I did not see the snake.
Good morning everyone. We went to breakfast and upon returning to the room, we couldn't get back in. Apparently the lock on the door is messed up and they have had to call someone in. We are currently in the lobby at the Clarion waiting. Everything, including the car keys, is stuck in the room. AAARRRGHHH!
HELLO EVERYONE HAD A GREAT TIME LAST NIGHT AT DINNER GOT A LITTLE NERVOUS WHEN I STARTED TO SING EVERYONE WAS STARING AT ME. WE WENT TO THE NEST LAST NIGHT SAW ALL THREE EAGLES IT WAS AWESOME HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT DAY LITTLE EAGLE EYE (MATTIE)
Morning all! Hope everyone had a good night and that you are enjoying this veautiful almost-summery Sunday. Still relishing all of our fun from yesterday! New update on Mason:

Hi, am home. Still need to catch up on the blog.
Wow, it sounds like they all had a great day at the nest. I would have loved to be there, too. To see everyone, our beautiful Eagles and Megan's flowers!
We have an adult in the nest!
I saw a Scarlet Tanager today, Margie, but it was a female. We looked all over for the male, couldn't find it.
Hello, just got finished ready yesterday and today's thread, thanks Steve, welcome home
Dropped off dinner and left, I missed the leaving part.
great commentary Lolly, glad you had a good day Deb.
We did have a nice day, today!
How is your weekend going with the family, esp. the M&M girls?
can' stay long, puter in in Maggie's' BR, we are back from pizza, and the kids have stopped off to visit a friend before coming back to condo, hubby and I are exhausted, I have not set foot on the beach yet, by the time I was ready to go down, girls were back up for a nap, so I staid with them...glad you all had a nice visit...good night
the girl's are fantastic, they make me lol:)
I am glad you are having a nice weekend, take it easy with those ribs!
The snowman on the cam has lost his carrot nose.
Thought I would check back. Made the mistake of going outside to clean a window or two and you know what happens when I go outside. I forget everything else and stay outside! :)
Just heard a horn honk. Did you guys go back to the nest. I think you are therre! I heard you!
Adult just flew in.
The whole family is at the nest!
Some one is at the nest as I can hear voices! And I definitly heard a toot toot!
Hidey was sitting in her egg well when adult flew in. Do not see food.
Shoot, I had my sound turned down. Honk the horn again!
Take that back. Looks like a fish. Hey, who was going to clean the lens? You forgot! That's why I can not see.
Hidey is getting fed.
That is great, I bet whoever is there is seeing all three of our Eagle family!
Hi Deb! Glad you had a good day. I can just picture them there at the nest. Sure wish we were there.
Look at those feet!
Hidey says, come back!
Sharon, T-Bird and Mattie are at the nest.....sure they are enjoying this action!
Hello Evening Eagle Pals ☺
It might be too dark...they could be gone by now...
Hi Margy! They honked their horn. I heard them.
Tht's got to be them! who else would honk at this hour....probably the "So Long" honk...
Just honked again!
Well, my dinner Wanda was supposed to order for me did not stay with me. I am hungry! Jack and I are getting ready to dine on hamburgers on the patio.
BBL
How ya' doin' gals...good to get home and see some friendly faces.
Great on the tanager, Deb.... We saw male and female Baltimore orioles...they were singing along all day in the the trees near where we were hanging out watching the nest.
Lots and lots of pictures were taken today, so you will all see some of what we saw...when folks get them posted.
Lori - our new Momster from Frederick MD was there and had two awesome cameras...
Wait til you hear what you had for dessert Lolly ☺
From 10 am until almost 3 pm, Belle was perched on a limb above the nest....the entire time! Hidey did a fair amount of moving around the nest, stretching his wings, and a few hops. Liberty dropped something off and then he was gone lickety-split. 30 mins later Belle left to the left of the nest tree away from the river, and then Hidey started eating whatever Liberty had dropped off.
Great to hear about the cameras, Margy. I hope we get some really good pictures from today, people and birds!

I know what you are talking about, Margy, they should have some really good close-ups!
Yes, that was me blowing the horn twice!! I knew somebody would be listening! What a show that was!

Glad you guys had such a great time:)

Wanda and Gene are the most gracious hosts!
And why couldn't you come today, Megan? :) I will see you in the morning for sure.
Looks like it has started raining at the nest. It was lightening and the clouds were rolling in when we left.
Dinner at the Tuscany Grill was very nice too, good food! We think we had "Michael's little sister and brother as our servers...☺
But I think they got the checks pretty much straight, after a couple of revisions ☺
Parent present! Brought food.
just kidding on that last comment, but these kids were young! But they did very well with all of us crazy people!
I am off to a late dinner with friends, bbl!
Stevie: do you mean a food drop just now? I sure missed it, but I wasn't watching either
Aha, so this is the real Steve...sounds like a great time!
That was Sharon and Thelma and Mattie that went back to the nest after dinner! So Glad they got to see Liberty again...
Belle was above the nest, that we saw, for 5 1/2 hours today...she finally took off to behind the nest around 3:30
Sooo, 3 fish drops today, eh?
My mistake....Needed to refresh web cam! No parent present!
Okay, Stevie..thanks, I understand completely !
Glad you made it back to your roost, Paula
Sorry bout that! I've been in and out and check on Hidey when I can!
I am taking a quick look thru my pics...will post at least one on the EM blog...pretty much what we saw most of the day...
I'm slam wore out, as Sissy would say! We really missed all of ya'll that couldn't be there, and yes we're talking about all of you!
And Lori was really nice, brought her freind Kate...they got some really nice pics! They had THE CAMERAS of the day....300 lens.
Big, super, duper, heavy duty cameras for sure!
Hi Paula! I am so glad you all had a great time. The three at the nest this evening made more noise than all of you today. LOL
LOLLY - you can count on that Bluefield crew for sure! :)
Margie has a few pics on the Momsters' album.
I want ya'll to go back to the last blog to see my running commentary. LOL Anybody reading that must have thought I was a blooming idiot! Love it!
Will do!
Welcome home Steve!
Well, everybody, my butt is dragging. Think I am going to bed now. I am definitely going back to the nest in the morning and to market.
I can see lightning towards WV, although radar shows the storms passing to the North of us.
Hitting the hay, must get up with the chickens, actually, probably before the chickens... nite all, glad you had such a great time:)
Great job Lolly! Very good job!
Been looking at pictures. I guess Mattie was sweating and the bead ran on her neck. Her first tatoo!
Happy to meet Lori!
Paula, you looked good. Cool and comfortable. What was the temp today. Can not believe Texas is cooler than you! But we are!
Jabbering like an idiot! Actually was sorta fun! LOL

Tonight, the snake was across the road up in a tree with its head in a knot hole on the tree, appeared to be sleeping.

sounds wonderful, Steve...I could use a little off-grid time myself. If I could just tear myself away from this computer.... *laughs*

I'm going to try to post Gene's videos this morning. They are such fun to watch, but it takes hours for them to post. Don't know why, but, IT IS WHAT IT IS;)
I'll let you know when they are ready.
AAARRRGHHH!
And I can't get the cam up on this computer in the lobby. DOUBLE ARRRRGGGHHHHH!
