Costume Lady said... I'M BAAAACK! Wow, what a beautiful morning to go to the Sycamore Tree. Could not see Hidey, but Belle is above the nest looking out for Hidey. The leaves are so full and dense now, that I could barely se the nest. I could see something near the cam that could have been Hidey, but whever he is, he's probably afraid to move and won't for awhihle. I forgot my memory stick to my camera!!@#$&**!
I'm gonna guess Hidey is soaring somewhere with Mom - If she was in the vicinity of the nest, we would have heard her by now - if not yelling at mom and dad, just yelling to say "hey, look everybody!! I'm out on this branch!!!" She is a very vocal bird.....
Well, Wanda knows better than me - I agree with her that Hidey is probably scared stiff if she is out of the nest nearby!! I'm just amazed that we haven't heard her squawking!!
Thank you so much for going over Wanda! Good to know that a parent is still up on the limb - Hopefully Hidey is out soaring in the thermals with the other parent. Fun part will be seeing Hidey return and hope it isn't a crash landing!
I really have to get some things done I will rely on the cam sounds to alert any returns!
I drove up to the Barn, when I couldn't see well enough from the road. The guard told me to just "not go under the tree", but he didn't say that I couldn't drive up to the barn:) Two of the farmers came up to me and said they had been watching him fly up to and on top of the camera, but he wasn't on the camera this time. I saw an unmoving dark spot on the limb near the camera and that would be my guess...also, Belle kept looking in that area. But all is well for now. Saw many birds and one Beautiful Oriole in the Nest Tree.
I must admit, it has been VERY quiet at the nest this morning-- maybe our eaglet HAS really flown the coop! It is 11 weeks... golly, I miss Hidey already!!!! Hidey, you had better come back and visit! There are nestovers in the nest, too-- part of that big fish from yesterday! Well, gotta study the books for two upcoming tests. Will try to tear myself away from here, but will keep checking back. Prayers for Divine protection for our little eaglet! BBL :o]
Thanks for going to check, Wanda! You are a dear momster! No problem getting in, I'm sure!?! Called Shar and let her know what you found/didn't find...LOL!! She is at the flea market now with Bev and Thelma.
On my camera, you can take one picture without the memory stick, which I did, but I don't know how to get it off and onto the computer. Deb, if you come on here today, let me know if there is a way to do that.
Pretty new to all of this... What usually happens when a young eagle leaves the nest for the first time? Do they stay close by? Do they stay away long? Is there a good chance Mom or Dad is with them?
I'm stunned! I can't believe that Hidey is gone and we ALL missed it! When I checked at 4:30am Hidey was in the nest and sleeping like a baby. Will he come back to the nest tonight to sleep?
Oh Wanda... THANK you so much for visiting the tree. I wish you would have seen Hidey for sure, but it's great to hear that the farmers said they saw him/her. YAY!!!
Yes, Kimm and Tammy...Hidey will return to the nest...with likely a crash landing! He will hang around for probably a month or so learning from Lib and Belle about hunting and fishing. When he completely cuts the apron strings, we never know where they go or how far...it will be 4-5 yrs. before he will be mature enough to find his own mate and start another generation.
I'm thinking Hidey will come down to the nest when he gets really hungry...that's the only dining room he has ever known. Yes, Tammy, Mom was on a limb in the nest tree, looking down on the lower branches where Hidey must be. They will watch over him til they know he can be on his own. PROMISE!
I said earlier that HIEDY is an INTELLIGENT--BEAUTIFUL--CUNNING--SPOILED--INDEPENDENT--ADORABLE EAGLET!!-----SHE FOOLED US ALL!!---COOL WAY TO FLEDGE!!---
Lynn, you are right...a crash landing:) That was so much fun, last year, watching the three mountaineers come crashing into the nest. Yes we still have some Hidey viewing to come. When he learns to fly better, he will come and go througout the day. And, as I recall, they bring their food back to the nest to eat, for a few weeks.
TAMMY---USUALLY when an EAGLET fledges---it is anticipated--we can watch---but no one was watching---Hadn't seen her practice landings either & NONE have left early in the am!!
Wanda, the only thing to try would be to connect your camera to the computer. Although without a card I am not sure that would work. Your camera should have come with a cord, plug one end into the camera, other end into computer.

Thank you all for your answers to my questions. I was watching up until late into the evening last night and I thought there was a couple of times Hidey was going to do something. It was windy and when he/she would flex their wings the wind almost carried them off.
On a sidenote, it was amazing watching last night. There is a spiderweb that is right in front of the lens to the camera and I watched a spider go back and forth numerous times. It was so close it would take up almost the whole screen.
Looks like the wind conditions for the next couple days will NOT be real conducive for spectacular landings! I remember when we watched one of our eaglets trying to come down into the nest from the above branch - finally just plopped down.
Tammy ... the bloggers here have affectionately named that spider "Boris"... or at least that is what I've seen it called a few times. Maybe it is Charlotte and she talked Hidey into taking the leap! :)
Well, I gotta admit, the first time I watched him cross the lens last night it felt like I had creepy crawlers on my arms and legs. After that first time it got kindof humorous. My husband asked me who I was talking to when he heard me trying to coax the spider back into view. He left the room mumbling something about having me committed. Men.
I saw her this morning around 6am..she was hopping around the nest...i saw her jump by the cam area..i turned my back and she was gone..i thought at first she jumped up on the limb where she perches and we can't see her...been way to long with no sound from her or site..can't believe i missed her fly off as i was watching the cam except for that minute or two....wtg Virginia!! (that's what i call her)....Be safe in your journey and I will keep watching for you to return!! Your beautiful and I love and miss you already sweety!!!
Well I'm still thinking Hidey has NOT fledged. Going up into the tree and on a branch is "branching". So maybe after Hidey's time up there and back in the nest. We will get to see Hidely really fledge.
I appreciate all of the information about eagles and fledging and branching you all have shared. It has been fun reading your blogs while watching the nest.
JudyB I am working on your suggestion...I am not having any success, I'm going to get the manual out now. I have no idea if the photo will show anything...but going to try. Wish you were here,Deb...I know you could do it!
Wanda, Thank you so much for going over to the nest. If it were closer I would have been there with you. You are something else girl. He did not tell her not to go up to the barn. LOL
Well, I know with the eagle nest we have here near Youngstown, the babies sat in the branches of the nest tree for days before they actually took off - Is that normal??
Thanks Wanda for heading to the nest to check on Hidey.
Brings back the memories of another lady. She would haul butt to get to that nest. Several times to let us know what she seen. Even before fledge time. lol So funny...she always got in through the guard gate. lol
Jo you remember she picked you up several times. Off to you nest you two went a galloping.
He does not appear to be in the nest now, that's for sure.
Wanda could be right about the branching... But it is nearing the time for fledging anyway.
They don't usually take an extended period on the launch pad, especially when there's a strong wind, so fledging within a couple of minutes when you looked away is very possible.
A third possibility also involves the wind. It's not uncommon when the wind is strong and the eaglets are practicing short flights in the nest for the eaglet to be blown out of the nest and fledged involuntarily.
So strange to see that nest with no eaglet! At the moment there's some little bird there, taking advantage of the residents' being away.
I too saw Hidey in the middle of the night, around 3. Not sleeping, but eyes open, moving about, at one point sitting on the left edge of the nest, cleaning back feathers for a while.
I just got an e-mail from the IWS forum. They are banding at Twin Rocks today, but the picture is really bad. I don't know if we would see anything or not.
Still waiting for trim to dry. I would really like to start painting soon. Where I scrapped to bare wood is where it is still wet.
Way to go, Wanda! Looking at your picture, it's easy to see how hard it would be to see a quiet almost-fledgling! :)
And I did forget my manners earlier - hi everyone!
In answer to your question, deb, I am the JudyB who posts on the Maine forum, but not the Judy who runs it. I am an admin on the Hancock forum - and Judy of the Maine forum and I have been confused more than a few times!
Wanda - THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH - for that WONDERFUL picture - been staring at this nest for 9 weeks now, and I finally can see what it looks like from below!!
WHAT??? doesn't Hidey know not to fledge on a weekend morning? Nice breeze here, good day for soaring, so I guess it was a great day to take that first flight.
Just returned from errands! Even with a fine tooth comb I can't see any little footsies on any limb in the Sycamore Tree! But Hidey hides very well! It is so beautiful of a day that May 30th is a good fledge date for sure!
Welcome Judy B - glad you are with us! Love the explanation for the close view at the Hornby nest --"The eaglet has "fowled" the camera lens again - this time completely lol
Just found that there are at least 4 and maybe 5 robin bobbleheads in the nest....didn't want to look too hard as mom was nearby! Got some pics....will have to put on PC and then post.
Hi, Everyone, I'm taking a short break from the school books right now. Still no Hidey? Just read a few of the blogs from today... Deb, last week I saw an ad for Behr paint at Home Depot, and it has primer right in with the paint! No need to prime it first. It may be too late if you've already bought primer and paint for this job, but maybe next time!
If it got to blowing hard last night, I wouldn't be surprised if Hidey took off involuntarily. I was afraid that very thing would happen when the wind was so fierce yesterday! In any case, "You GO, Hidey! Find out how those wings work!" :o]
movin' Jim, those gas prices are NOT good news, are they?! Good thing school is so close to home for me! Gee whiz, hope I don't ever have to hoof it! I'm mighty glad my car gets good mileage, that's for SURE.
I think hidey is still in the tree somewhere, can't imagine she would by-pass the all important branching sequence of training and take off, unless it was involuntary, with the breeze and the terrible buzz in the cam audio, you would not hear her...JMHO!
Wanda, thanks SO much for making a trip to the nest this morning! The picture of the tree is fantastic, and I bet that IS Hidey sitting below the adult in the tree. Don't know what we'd do without your efforts! Thanks again!
Well, I'd really better go back to studying this time, but will check in a little bit later. TTFN :o]
Too men just came to the door and said they were here last year looking at a Riviera. I told them, no, they had the wrong house. They told me no they didn't.
Hidey was squawking very loudly at 5:30 this morning,,,,I accidentally left computer on and that was my wake up call,,,,,,laid back on the couch to watch morning news and really never paid attention again until around 7am. Guess what,,,no Hidey
I think our viewers can pin down the time span that would involve the fledge.. Just maybe someone was watching at the exact time but didn't realize what they saw..
Monday am hours I hope NCTC/FWS will be pulling a video for us from their feed and posting it on our blog!
Well, I don't have all day to watch Hidey come back....gotta get to work, hope someone sees her come back. Looks like adult is trying to lure her back with food.
Yes Jo it is Twin Rocks TR that is why I changed what I said. They link I put up at 2:42pm is Twin Rocks. Dr. Sharpe put them in a bag. Has taken them to band. At this point.
You know sometimes even though Hidey made in up into the tree. He could be scared to make that leap. Or maybe he has fledged and she is just waiting for him and Dad to come back to nest.
Boy I got taken out yesterday for a belated BIRTHDAY. I SEEN THE STATUE OF LIBERTY yesterday !!!!! Yes I did... lol When you go in the door at Garfield's in the Valley Mall at Hagerstown right there is the statue of Liberty.
That's the same link I posted earlier, Dana....such a grainy pic...I missed the action. What is Garfield's like?? Same kind of place as Appleby's or Unos?
I rebooted, and it isn't frozen anymore. Neck resting break is over. I don't like painting soffits, I don't like painting at all, but soffits are the worst!
Come home, Hidey, look at that big fish you are missing!
Sure glad Hidey hasn't gone for good yet. I am new to the eagle cam. Just started watching it this season and I absolutely love it. Wish I would have joined the blog sooner. Thanks to everyone for keeping us all informed. Have a great day all.
Hello to everyone! I understand that our Hidey has left the nest today. I just logged in and I can't believe she has already took her first flight. Has she been back yet? Oh, KEITH URBAN ROCKS! What a show! He was so good! 2 hrs. of solid entertainment! It will take me a while to forget about this concert! Hope everyone is doing well today.
Good thing I got that pic of the robins when I did....they just got spooked by the carpentry work and all bailed....two flew good distances; two were on the ground...no luck catching to put back in nest, but many adults were there watching over one...couldn't keep track of the other one in the leaves and dappled sunlight. Boohoo...hope they will be okay.
Keith Urban was in Charleston, WV on Thursday, May 28. That was my first time seeing him but definitely NOT my last. WOW! The Zac Brown Band was the first show. They were good too BUT Keith was SUPER! I am so Nicole has helped him clean up his life. You can tell by looking at his face up close that he has had a rough life. Patiently waiting on someone to see Hidey return. I'm watching, too. Darn little bird! How dare her leave without telling anyone!!
Laynie and Tammy - glad to have company to see this beautiful parent eagle in our nest....enjoying a rare moment of eating by her or himself, sorry I cannot tell which parent it is
Magpie... Yes, it is wonderful to see this majestic creature, for sure. I just hope that at some point by the end of the evening Hidey is around, or at least we have some confirmation. I do want him/her to "spread their wings" as they say, but my motherly instincts makes me want to KNOW all is well!
I wish the microphone were working, maybe we could hear Hidey near by! Lokks like Belle or Lib is lunching on a mouse or squirrell. I hope Hidey is perched near by!!
I think its Belle but both ahve been there and brought a mammal and a huge fish. One then left after a few minutes and other has stayed and done some eatign as well.
I have sound. I can hear the wind and earlier today I heard what sounded like a faint peeps. I thought maybe it was the adult that had been sitting elsewhere in the tree. When both parents were in the tree I heard it again, but only a couple of times and I couldn't see who it came from..
Winds are about 10 to 15 mph here today, and will be again tomorrow. Not too bad, and good for Hidey to get some air under his wings and fly back. I'm sure he will when he works up the nerve, or gets hungry enough.
Hi all! Got on the cam earlier to show some friends. No Hidey, but I thought she was under the blur on the edge. Now I get on and learn Hidey has fledged!!!! No! Not without our permission!
Have skimmed through the blog fast. Saw that our Wanda headed to the nest. Love it!!! Thanks Wanda!
Parent in the nest looks like she is bewildered, looking for Hidey!
Did anyone see that shadow a little while ago....looked like wings shadowed going across the trees..Mom was looking real hard then she called out...please please come back so we know your okay Haley Virginia sweetie!!!
okay just thought of something..since you guys named her Haley (which is beautiful), and I named her Virginia, I decided to call her Haley Virginia...all she needs is a last name...mmmmmm I'll never forget her!!
The boys at DF are looking ever so beautiful too!! I love them soooooooooooooooooooooo much!! I'm looking forward to them learning to fly, which they already started exercising their wings.. omg!! it's going to be hard...i think i'll need Eagle therapy AA classes soon....
I have to do a few chores. Still watching for that bird to come home! Sharon, Keith is in AL tonight, I think. It is his ESCAPE TOGETHER WORLD TOUR 2009. BBL Hidey, please come home!

But, we're all friends and Eaglet Momsters forever.
Thank you so much for going over Wanda!

thanks for going to the nest Wanda
Hidey is probably just branching;)
Thanks for going to check, Wanda! You are a dear momster! No problem getting in, I'm sure!?!

hope they took their flea powder;)

Lynn, you are right...a crash landing:) That was so much fun, last year, watching the three mountaineers come crashing into the nest. Yes we still have some Hidey viewing to come. When he learns to fly better, he will come and go througout the day. And, as I recall, they bring their food back to the nest to eat, for a few weeks.
Norma ... yup, Hidey definitely made an even bigger impact than she already had by "sneakin' out" when none of us were watching.
My brother said that he was up at 5:05 a.m. and Hidey was not there.
Speaking of fleas....Did you know that squirrels will build a new nest and move to get away from fleas/lice/mites?
Hey, Mits...good morning for dolphin watching????
it is a spectacular day here at the beach, Lynn, been watching for them:)
TAMMY---USUALLY when an EAGLET fledges---it is anticipated--we can watch---but no one was watching---Hadn't seen her practice landings either & NONE have left early in the am!!

Wanda, can you copy pictures from the camera to the memory card? I think some cameras let you do that with menu options.
Tammy Spidey & his web have been with us at this nest since 2006!
Tammy, we know only too well about Spidey. He's been there for 2 seasons now...I won't watch cam once he appears in the evening...I hate spiders!
BTW... Spidey's name is Boris.
Good idea, JudyB, are you the Judy from the Maine ForuM?
Hedgie - I like your new avatar.
*lol*
Well, I gotta admit, the first time I watched him cross the lens last night it felt like I had creepy crawlers on my arms and legs. After that first time it got kindof humorous. My husband asked me who I was talking to when he heard me trying to coax the spider back into view. He left the room mumbling something about having me committed. Men.
So, I guess we will be impressed when Spidey / Borus / Charlotte spells "Some Eagle" in the web.
Good one, I would love to see that one! Spidey gives me the creepy crawlies, too.
Deb and JudyB...it is so simple to do. Just "copy" the photo onto the memory stick. Wow, wait til I tell Gene what I learned new today!;)
JIM, when you saw Hidey earlier in the night, twitching...he must have been dreaming of flying. Maybe he was SLEEPFLYING:)
Hi, Wanda. He did remind me immediately of how dogs chase rabbits (or cats) in their sleep, even though some of them have never heard of a rabbit.

Still waiting for trim to dry. I would really like to start painting soon. Where I scrapped to bare wood is where it is still wet.
Very good series of pictures too, Wanda. I see there are plenty of branches for an eaglet if they can fly up to camera level....

Wanda thanks so much for going there. Lynn, thanks so much for letting me know. We are such a great team!!
One of the family is in the nest at BWE.

I just think it was so funny that she fledged when no one was watching, at least no one we have heard from yet!
Great pic, Wanda.....so many places that Hidey could be invisible! You done good, kid!
Glad you are with us, JudyB!
Well, I have to say that I am so grateful that we went to the nest last weekend.
Thanks for clarifying that Judy, I always wondered about that!
jEEZ! I just read that gas prices are inching up toward the $3/gal. mark again in the Orange County area.

Oh...my avatar is of Alex and Belle...the George Washington Parkway eagles near Alexandria....she is giving him a piece of her mind!
Twin Rocks banding going on....but cam is so bad, can't really see anything...
TwinRocks
Wanda - THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH - for that WONDERFUL picture - been staring at this nest for 9 weeks now, and I finally can see what it looks like from below!!
One Kesterl is on the Nest box opening!
It came back down, the big bad world must have shocked him, nope, right back up!
This must be like branching for Kestrels. Up to the opening, then back down again. Now another one is trying.
I think that may be a mockingbird taking fluff from the nest.
Not a very good perch this time. back down again. That was a different one. Too funny, hanging on the side of the box.
The kestrel trying now, can't figure out how to get its wings into the opening. Time for a rest.
Hi, what is the link for the kestrel nest?
Kestrel CamIt is in Lincoln, NE.
WHAT??? doesn't Hidey know not to fledge on a weekend morning?
Nice breeze here, good day for soaring, so I guess it was a great day to take that first flight.
Eaglets at Norfolk are getting to the fledging age too I think...just saw the oldest do a practice flight across the nest.
That nest tree has some of best opportunities for branching that I've seen on the Internet.

Jim
Thanks, Deb. It looks really crowded in there with all those little faces looking up at you.
Shirley
Have a good day, everyone. Might get back here a little later...

Andrea, somebody saw Hidey in the nest at 6 this morning so the fledge was after that.
Jim, gas is inching up here too.
movin' Jim, those gas prices are NOT good news, are they?! Good thing school is so close to home for me! Gee whiz, hope I don't ever have to hoof it! I'm mighty glad my car gets good mileage, that's for SURE.
Taking a break from cooking and cleaning. Wanda great picture. Thank you. Gene will be so proud. Hi everyone. Bye
TTFN :o]
WOWSIE ADULT IN THE NEST
Parent in the nest.
:) Hi, Mema Jo.
OMG!!! ADULT IN THE NEST!!!!
Parent, maybe Hidey will come down into the nest,
Parent in the nest with a mammal. Looks to be watching for Hidey to come in to eat. More will be revealed.
Hi Lisa! and all others who are just waiting for a glimpse of that returning eaglet!
Cool to see the parent in the nest!
My bluebirds left their nest this morning!!
All eyes and hearts are at a nest in a sycamore tree
Might you have another nest full of new bluebirds this season?
Even food isn't working. Come on, Hidey!
It is too late, I already had the paint. That is nice to know about the combo stuff.
Adult in nest....Hidey, too??? Deep shadows!!! Should I say "Dark Shadows"???
Too men just came to the door and said they were here last year looking at a Riviera. I told them, no, they had the wrong house. They told me no they didn't.
Excuse me, who lives here!
Back to painting, I have to keep checking on Hidey.
OK, on PC now...will have robins posted to my blog in a few!
Hidey was squawking very loudly at 5:30 this morning,,,,I accidentally left computer on and that was my wake up call,,,,,,laid back on the couch to watch morning news and really never paid attention again until around 7am. Guess what,,,no Hidey
Is that Lib or Belle in the nest??
Deceiving shadows - especially if you're looking from a distance.
Our adults have always been quiet parents. Wish they would call out to their eaglet!
I am thinking that Hidey is close now because the parent is looking around like somebody is there.
I think it is Belle due to the size as to how she fills up the nest.....
geez, Deb, be careful, strange calls and strange men at door:(
Hey Deb, were they good looking? I have a Riviera! :) Not really.
I see a rope on Two Harbors they are going to band the eaglets.
Two Harbors With Sound
I think our viewers can pin down the time span that would involve the fledge.. Just maybe someone was watching at the exact time but didn't realize what they saw..
Monday am hours I hope NCTC/FWS will be pulling a video for us from their feed and posting it on our blog!
Take a peek at Lynns' Lair!
Good pic of the robins, Lynn!
I'm going for 4.........
Ok banding took place earlier this morning about 10:44 humm their time or ours?
Well, I don't have all day to watch Hidey come back....gotta get to work, hope someone sees her come back. Looks like adult is trying to lure her back with food.
Guess you are bunching those peonies!
THEY ARE AT TWO HARBORS NOW
I am surprised that Hidey didn't follow Belle right into the nest.
CLICK ON MY LINK AT 2l42pm IT MIGHT SAY TWIN ROCKS WHEN OPENING THEY ARE BANDING EAGLETS. DR. SHARPE JUST PUT THEM IN THE BAG. WHAT A CLIMB FOR HIM.
probably too afraid to jump down from branch
Dana - Today's banding I think is at Twin Rocks. Two Harbors I think was done last Friday.
Now I'm heading out the door for another belated Birthday meal. I like this no cooking lol
Hope Hidey comes down when they bring food in...( : later
That's the same link I posted earlier, Dana....such a grainy pic...I missed the action.
What is Garfield's like?? Same kind of place as Appleby's or Unos?
Both parents are in the nest now!!
Both adults in nest!
What a meal!!
Looks like more food brought in...to lure Hidey back home?
Well, shoot! I was hoping that one of the parents was with Hidey, where ever he is.
One parent left.
My cam froze!
I rebooted, and it isn't frozen anymore. Neck resting break is over. I don't like painting soffits, I don't like painting at all, but soffits are the worst!
Come home, Hidey, look at that big fish you are missing!
Oops, the men were okay, Sharon, about mid to late 60's. They were driving some kind of old car that was pink. (I am not good with cars)
well even if I can't see her I sure would love to hear here and know she is in that tree or one near bye argh!!!
Sure glad Hidey hasn't gone for good yet. I am new to the eagle cam. Just started watching it this season and I absolutely love it. Wish I would have joined the blog sooner. Thanks to everyone for keeping us all informed. Have a great day all.
off to mass...bbl
It's like their waiting for her or looking for her...oh where is she!! hasn't anyone there at the facility seen her to let us know....
Well, I just knew with all that food that Hidey would come back to the nest.
Bibee, where did you see Keith Urban? I love him!
We have not seen Hidey today and we also didn't see her fledge. She snuck right out on us!
Okay, just looked it up - Huntsville, AL. Kewl!
Oh where, oh where could our little Hidey be? Oh where, oh where could she be?
Good thing I got that pic of the robins when I did....they just got spooked by the carpentry work and all bailed....two flew good distances; two were on the ground...no luck catching to put back in nest, but many adults were there watching over one...couldn't keep track of the other one in the leaves and dappled sunlight. Boohoo...hope they will be okay.
well of course none of us knows for sure what is going on, but I think perhpas they have decided one will wait at home and one will go scout the area.
Adult in nest...
I'm just hopping on maybe this is old news.... ☺
Oh please look if you have not already noticed ! so stunning !
Let me holler a little louder :
ADULT EAGLE IN OUR NEST !!
Sharon, Bibee lives in Mullens...she saw Keith Urban someplace in WV last evening, not AL!!!
Back for a minute.... does Belle (?) in the nest looking around like that mean they don't know where Hidey is either??
Oh my... this is too much for my heart! Belle brought a fish for Hidey! I wish she would call out!
I thought my empty nest syndrome days were over. I didn't know it would return... literally.
Thanks Hidey!! Now you get your tail feathers home!
Adult eating rather voraciously...
I would bet they know exactly where Hidey is, probably in a tree nearby, there are plenty. I thought that food would lure him right back.
I hear ya Tammy!!! I know I would feel SO much better if only I knew Hidey was ok! But watching mom there waiting for Hidey is so sad to me!
and... ummm... that ain't no fish!! LOL... Ewwwwww
Laynie and Tammy - glad to have company to see this beautiful parent eagle in our nest....enjoying a rare moment of eating by her or himself, sorry I cannot tell which parent it is
mom says,,can't let this go to waste
So the window of departure has been narrowed down to sometime between 4:30 and a little after 5 am if I am speed reading correctly
Wanda Bravo !
Thanks for checking on our Family
Still no Hidey I see. Is it the fish or the mammal being eaten. I think mammal, but that is just a guess.
Hidey woke me at 5:30 am EST this morning,,,looked back around 6 or so and Hidey was not in nest
Okay so I see adult/s in the nest IS old news, took me awhile to catch up.
Yeah, I think it is a mammal for dinner this evening. I got very use to the "ripping" sound of fish, and this is not it!!
Hmmm... my microphone is loud and clear Gabriela
Hi Everyone, excuse my manners.
Still waking up I guess, first thought was to the Nest...
I can't believe after watching this long that I missed Hidey's take off. He was there last night when I checked.
LOL. Helps if i turn it on!!
When both parents were in the tree I heard it again, but only a couple of times and I couldn't see who it came from..
it's really windy. Hope Hidey is hanging on wherever she is!!
Off to Mass - I'll be saying a prayer for you know who's safety!
BBL
Winds are about 10 to 15 mph here today, and will be again tomorrow. Not too bad, and good for Hidey to get some air under his wings and fly back. I'm sure he will when he works up the nerve, or gets hungry enough.
Two Osprey at BWO
Did anyone see that shadow a little while ago....looked like wings shadowed going across the trees..Mom was looking real hard then she called out...please please come back so we know your okay Haley Virginia sweetie!!!
okay just thought of something..since you guys named her Haley (which is beautiful), and I named her Virginia, I decided to call her Haley Virginia...all she needs is a last name...mmmmmm I'll never forget her!!
love going to mass here...heading out to balcony, with a g&t;)
Rhianna, most of us call her Hidey:)
The boys at DF are looking ever so beautiful too!! I love them soooooooooooooooooooooo much!! I'm looking forward to them learning to fly, which they already started exercising their wings.. omg!! it's going to be hard...i think i'll need Eagle therapy AA classes soon....
Rhiannon, we have been calling her Hidey because as a newly hatched eaglet we could not see her. She was hiding in the egg cup.
K...i'll call her Hidey Virginia... :)
No what you mean Rhiannon. We will all have Hidey withdrawal symptoms.
Great! HV for short! LOL
What? Is it G&T time already? Why didn't someone call me...
I have to do a few chores. Still watching for that bird to come home! Sharon, Keith is in AL tonight, I think. It is his ESCAPE TOGETHER WORLD TOUR 2009. BBL Hidey, please come home!
Hey Megan! Going to have to have a G & T to celebrate fledging!!
