no, should get a hormone report today I hope, it could be any day or another week or so, can't predict when she will hit the baseline, but hormones are dropping, and the end whatever it may be will be here soon
Back again...thanks for more b-day greetings!!! You all are great! My cake is out of the oven....will frost it a bit later. Guys are working on fence---say they will finish today. can tell that it is going to work perfectly! Jim is up and about....just got some emails from him. Mits, I want a butterstick on my birthday......wouldn't that be the most awesome thing?
I have a bird menagerie out on the corn---Flicker, BlueJays, Cards, Titmouse and Robins, and think I saw an Indigo Bunting hanging out further back in the woods. Of course, the minute I tried to step out form under deck to get pics, they scattered!
GOOD AFTERNOON! HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Lynn & Dana!!! And many more! Hope you both have a blessed day! Even my Black-Crowned Night Herons (the "Pterodactyls")are chiming in with a few "kwawks" to wish you both a special day! Those rascals were especially busy last night-- they're true insomniacs! Go fishing at night, and sleep all day. Say, that would be really cool if a panda was born on your mutual birthday! Weather looks MUCH improved back there! Kinda breezy at the nest, but looks like it should be sunny & nice. It's cooling down out here in SoCal-- should be just under 80 today. The sun is beginning to burn thru the morning overcast, and current temp is about 60. Strangely enough, haven't seen any June bugs here yet. Saw a BIG bumblebee on Thursday, though. He likes the Clematis. The Goshawks must be on the hunt-- the mockingbirds are practically having a nervous breakdown!! Will check back every so often today. Have a good one, and hope everyone feels fantastic today. (Lolly, hope your headache is gone by now!) Catch you later :o]
Thanks again Jim, and thanks Andrea. I was just telling Jim earlier that my BFF in Highland, CA has her 7 yr. old gd living with her, and today is her b-day, too. We talked on the phone and she said "you'll go blind when you're 61"----only gives me one year of the good life, huh??? Out of the mouths of babes!!!
So, this is a "Decade" Birthday is it, Lynn? Way to Go ! Thanks for corralling Jim: Hey Jim- I see the hummingbird baby/s could start hatching maybe Sunday? Mom looks all squirmy today.
Speaking of Big Bumble Bees, I saw on one of those hummingbird Bees yesterday, off in a flash it was so no pictures but it was a beauty.
Live June Bugs were dive bombing me last night when I went outside to look for the Moon, which is FULL today, the Birthday Moon I think we should subtitle it....
Oak Leaf - that's a negative. DNA testing is the only certain way at this stage and that will not take place. Many think baby is a female, later on if there were other babies to compare it to, that would help too. The females are larger than the males when all is said and done, but at this stage, it's anyone's guess. I think you will get a more technical answer from someone on here at some point.
Oak Leaf We usually have had sound with this cam, but not since last week. It has been reported to our NCTC person, Steve....not sure when it will be restored. You know we are watching the Loon Cam in Minnesota, right? If you need the site, holler. right now there are two beautiful eggs, but not sure the cam is up today
I tried the loon cam earlier, Margy and could not get on.....don't think I will see the M&M girls this weekend...Hubby is only in town for the day, goes back to Dallas tomorrow
Make that Four Good-byes! I think Norma mentioned that some big hunting or fishing season or both starts in MN today, and maybe Larry was not going to open up the cam today. I was speed-reading so I cannot confirm that, but Loon cam this year also instantly freezes my computer so I have to be real picky about checking that one and also Pa Peregrine Falcons :(
Mits loon cam is up. you got to get better whoever is on the panda cam almost made me lose it. Up and down. Poor Mei. If she is going to have a cub hope it is soon.
I guess you all know that if you buy the First Class "Forever" stamps, you can use them "forever" until they are gone...without adding penny stamps or anything.
Oak Leaf..how are you? Re: the sex of Hidey. I'm pretty sure Hidey is a big boy bird.
First of all, the first egg, which is a female more than two thirds of the time, did not hatch; and the following eggs are almost always males.
Second, if you look at the size of the head and beak and feet, which grow rapidly to adult size, Hidey's are the smaller, male versions. And he is not as long compared his width as a female chick is... Also, I've seen him exercising his wings, and they are the shorter, wider appearing, size.
Third, I've seen him near both adults, and he's never going to be the size of his mother...
Interesting info, Jim....hadn't heard those comparisons before. Thanks. got a facebook post from Anne Marie....very worried: Mr. Santa Barbara has refused to evacuate.....he is cutting down trees and brush from around his and neighbors homes....sounds like a dangerous situation.
Been in emails for a long time. Thanks those that sent cards they sure did brighten up a Birthday ( :
I got one card I had to hold until today. It was so neat when I opened it. It had Chinese symbols on it. How did that person know I'm going to eat Chinese for my Birthday??? Will wonders never cease.
In Minnesota, it is what is called "The Fishing Opener". Or "Opening Day". It is a day when literally hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans and people from all over head to the lakes to go fishing. At midnight last night, it became legal to take walleye and northern pike and some of the other gamefish for which Minnesota is so well known.
Thanks, Meggy!!! Dana....wondered what your dinner plans were! Where are you going for Chinese?? We are going to Outback---I'm hungry for a Bloomin' Onion!! Grease and fat---mmmmm!!!! Enjoy your evening!!
Boy is that Kentucky Osprey cam hard to get to see off the eggs or chicks. Trying to see if any hatched. Not getting anywhere. You have to refresh yourself every 12 to 15 seconds grrrrrr
Happy Birthday to Dana & Lynn!!!!Been too busy to get on here for awhile. Hidey was snoozing in the nest awhile ago. Saw a couple indigo buntings coming near the feeders--beautiful. Too many leaves for pics, but 4 huge red-bellied turtles lined up on a log down at edge of river.
I like the forever stamps, but the 42-cent ones come in neat designs, also patriotic and flags....so I always have 1-centers around. Have to get some 2-centers I guess.
GOOD AFTERNOON... I have called it a day from outdoor work. TOO HUMID!
For those of you who are joining us on our Nest Visit on May 23...I have posted a menu of the Clarion's newest eatery. It is the same place as the Sebastian Room, but is now THE TUSCANY GRILLE, serving italian dishes and more. The menu is posted on my blog "Just For Fun". Check it out and tell me what you think. I have to make reservations by Tuesday for either the Grille or the Rumsey Tavern. Double click on the menu to enlarge:)
Thanks for more birthday wishes!! Margy, don't know anything more than that A-M has always referred to him as Mr. Santa Barbara!!! Not sure how far that is from Sacramento....don't think it's "next-door" so to speak, so don't know how often they see each other.
Gotta go get ready for my outing. Cake is iced. Now watch kids bring a store-bought one!! LOL! Talk to you all later this evening!
Cam Osprey Report---they have the egg well SO deep that we can not see the eggs. There was one for sure a week and 1/2 ago & there might be 2 or 3. Guess we'll know when they hatch by June 1.
Loretta, that is a shame that the eggs cannot be seen. Wanda even though I will not be able to be there. Looked in on the menu. Yummy. I will have one of each
Happy to see Hidey getting his food. He is a hungry boy.
Maine Discussion Forum has taken on as of today the Kentucky Osprey Cam. I am so happy about that. They have great pics already on there and info. First egg today is 37 days. So hatching should be soon.
Well, we just came in from dinner. I was watching Hidey and yelling for her to please lay down before the wind blew her out and she minded me, laid right down in the middle of the nest.
oh, Sharon - you have a commanding maternal voice ♥ - you should have seen when he was very interested in a little flying thing, and it out into space and I was afraid Hidey was going to go after it!
Winds are picking up around here, not sure if storms a-brewing yet or not.
Say Hi to all your Family buds there for me, please ?
I'm home...wonderful dinner and great celebration! Youngest actually baked me a cake!!! So now I have two.....y'all come share with me!! I'll worry about diet next week! i did what Wanda does...took some pics at dinner....I'll post tomorrow. Heading for sofa to watch the race...will probably take a panda nap!! BBL.
Wow, remind me not to watch Hummingbird nest again, it has taken me THIS long to get back on. (must have "parental" control on it)
I didn't see a chick, just didn't see the second egg, maybe it was down in the nest.
And in all that time it got dark at our nest!
ISS comes through Berkeley County around 9:32 - from the SSW, only 29-degrees elevation, but it should be visible if you have the horizon and clear sky for it.
Nice little show by ISS, right on schedule, right where it belonged, got about 1/2 way through the sky, did its glow-orange routine and poof out like a light bulb. If you missed it, you can catch in the early morning (3:54 am my time) and then again Sunday night close to 10 pm. Times vary depended on where YOU are of course.
Saturn is out brightly tonight, and Full Moon is working its way out of the clouds.
I also wish all the Mommies out there a very Happy Mother's Day tomorrow. We are expecting Laurel and family. They are going to church with us and spend the afternoon. Jack picked up delicious barbeque with sides for our meal and I bought ice cream for the boys. Had a beautiful arrangment of floweres delivered today from Michael and family. He has to work tomorrow.
You're right about that Lolly but it sounds as though you are on the recovery track...when you start doing some normal old things like go to the store ☺
My first trip out was for two gallons of orange juice, kleenex, and yogurt
Keep doing what you doing, sounds like it's working.
Good Late Evening! What a beautifully long day it has been! Daughter was really surprised by family & friends over at her daughter's in Hedgesville. Weather held good for us - However I know that when the wind started up we all headed inside the house. No rain whatsoever! The food was abundant and the ice cream cake was delicious! The pinata took lots and lots of hits before breaking out the candy! I am ready for bed now! Happy to hear that Lynn got 2 cakes!
Panda nap was fun, and race is boring! GLad to hear from all of our adventurers! Deb, hope you had fun. Megan, glad your day was successful. Jo, sounds like fun....you should have stopped by for cake! I've never frozen cake before (except for wedding cake topper), so don't know how well it will do, but I can try! Think I would rather just make a nice fresh one for our visit.
I am tired, it has been a long day. I will finish looking at my pictures tomorrow. My eyes are going cross ways. I saw a lot of shore birds and have been trying to figure out what they are. I do know one is a Wilson's Phalarope, that one was easy. Also a couple of beautiful Black-crowned Night Herons let me get a really good look at them.
well I'm sure Mei gave the cam person a bit of a scare there for a while, but looks like she has settled in, so I will too. BTW the cams should be shut down at he actual birth if there is one, they do not have a contract with animal planet anymore, so zoo will have the complete rights to any videos, which is as it should be
Lynn, cough has pretty much gone away. When I do cough it sounds horrible,,,in my chest, but that too is better. What is bothering the most is the lack of energy. Also, have really lost my appetite.
Lolly, your energy level should come back soon...coughing just wears your whole body out. Take it easy and don't try to do too much. I was able to plant some of my yellow Columbine today. It had been way too muddy. My purple ones are just starting to bloom. Will send the seed along to you when they are ripe. I'm so excited to have my seeds come up and watch them grow. They probably won't bloom til next year, but I can wait:)
That should have been praying. Sorry Megan did not see you eyes are not open yet. Have a great day at Market. Jo used to dance every dance. It was a great band. They did a Blues Boy impression and made people come up and do the hand jive. A girl I went to grade school with was in town from California. Good time.
Wow. I saw the parent way out in the distance flying in but did not bring food. Smallest one got up and put its little wing on the older one for support. so cute
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY BLUEFIELD SHARON!!----Bet you all are having a GRAND TIME!!----How close are you folks from LOGAN Co----TV news--having flooding there---
SHARON---We have beautiful weather here in the EASTERN PANHANDLE!!---WARM SUNNY DAY YESTERDAY---Today it is gorgeous---SUNNY--bright blue skies -- white puffy clouds & temp is a cool 60° now & windy!!!--careful trip home!!---HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
WHOA!---BELLE---Your adorable--beautiful intelligent BABY is waiting for food & a hug from you! She is lonesome for her 'MA BELLE'! (couldn't resist) ho!
Packing it up now. We have a speaker at 10:15, lunch at noon and then headed back to Bluefield. Will check in with everybody later. Again, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY everybody.
We used to tell Daddy happy mother's day too because he said Mommy could not have been a mother without him! :)

Has Hidey eaten today? I haven't seen any Food Reports.
Hi Mits, how's it going today?
When will you see the precious M&M girls ?
I'm on MY lunch break, figure Hidey should be too !

Wow is Hidey close to the cam ! Can't wait for sound to return !
Quick ! Bird off the eggs at Finland Land
Hope you all were quick enough, because it lasts about two refreshes, that's it! Saw a nice landing with big talons coming on to the nest....

Margy you deserve a nap. It will give you more energy.
Hidey is standing surveying the outside world. Looks like it is getting windy again.

Welcome Oak Leaf, , nice moniker, stick around, maybe there will be a feeding soon!

Quite handsome, too, I might add...and has a beautiful house:)
Oooh, okay, Lynn...that DOES NOT sound good. Is Anne-Marie in any danger from the fire itself? Is this where she is located ?
Annemarie is in Sacramento, Margy
choppy water at Loon nest
Oh, okay.....thanks Helen...
and Lynn also
Wanda I'll check out that menu on the next break, if I do it now I will want to break for something to eat! Anything for an excuse not to work...☺
Thanks for more birthday wishes!!
Have a wonderful time, Lynn AND Dana....hope you are treated like the Royalty that you are....
xo
Enjoy your birthday, Lynn:)
Once again, Happy Birthday to Dana, enjoy your Chinese food!
Stop around to see Lynn and maybe she'll give you a piece of her cake. LOL
If there has been a food drop for Hidey I didn't see it. I've been everywhere man, I've been everywhere in these cams today. Cam
surfing lol
Lynn you can never have too much cake. I will take a slice of yours.
I'd rather have the blooming onion:)
Thanks Wanda ( :
Cam Osprey Report---they have the egg well SO deep that we can not see the eggs. There was one for sure a week and 1/2 ago & there might be 2 or 3. Guess we'll know when they hatch by June 1.
Loretta, that is a shame that the eggs cannot be seen.
Wanda even though I will not be able to be there. Looked in on the menu. Yummy. I will have one of each
I better get moving. Going to a dinner dance after Mass.
Mom and dad in nest. Looks like food
Fish for dinner and Heidy is hungry.
have fun tonight Ceil:)
Happy to see Hidey getting his food. He is a hungry boy.
Maine Discussion Forum has taken on as of today the Kentucky Osprey Cam. I am so happy about that. They have great pics already on there and info. First egg today is 37 days. So hatching should be soon.
If that baby tries to catch that butterfly or insect or whatever it is I think I am going to faint
Wanted to stop in to wish all of you who have ever played a Nurturing Role in the life of another a Very Happy Mothers Day For you on Mothers Day
Dear Glo
Thank you.
and Right back to you, dear one, for all the care you give to the children and the families at the Shelter...a blessed role it is.
Well, we just came in from dinner. I was watching Hidey and yelling for her to please lay down before the wind blew her out and she minded me, laid right down in the middle of the nest.
Glo, thank you so much for that. You are missed around here!
oh, Sharon - you have a commanding maternal voice ♥ - you should have seen when he was very interested in a little flying thing, and it out into space and I was afraid Hidey was going to go after it!
Winds are picking up around here, not sure if storms a-brewing yet or not.
Say Hi to all your Family buds there for me, please ?
big storm just went thru BWE, and O site
nice pic of Mei Xiang looking out the window
Something looks quite different at hummer nest, maybe at Hatch ?
I'm home...wonderful dinner and great celebration!
Youngest actually baked me a cake!!! So now I have two.....y'all come share with me!! I'll worry about diet next week!
i did what Wanda does...took some pics at dinner....I'll post tomorrow.
Heading for sofa to watch the race...will probably take a panda nap!!
BBL.
Good Deal, Lynn -
you can always freeze some ☺
Wow, remind me not to watch Hummingbird nest again, it has taken me THIS long to get back on.
Enjoy yourself, Lynn !
..and I am still cleaning, just now getting to Vacuuming. :(
It's quite breezy at the nest, can see Hidey's feathers flipping up, hope baby had enough to eat !
glad you had a good time Lynn
good night everyone:)
Hi All! Can not believe I have not been on all day!
First things first.........................................Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Lynn and Dana
Happy Birthday to you...........
.....and many more!Hope you have had a wonderful day!
I actually went to the grocery store today and even worked in the yard a little. I have learned this...you can not wish yourself well!
Good Night, Mits. ♥
Hope it's a good evening for eveyone ☺
xo
Waiting for the moon here....oh, and it's finally dinnertime.
Me too Megan...only thing is I don't feel like fixing it, dinner that is...
Hope you had a good day...
I just want energy! It done got up and left me!!!!!!! LOL
Mei is doing a lot of nesting and cradling the kong toy and licking tonight
Had a good day at mkt today, wind will be a bit of a challenge again tomorrow, no tent for me, too windy.
dinner is leftovers from yesterday
well I was heading to bed, but think I will keep my eye on Mei for a while longer.
We need to send Belle over to Tent for you Megan.
I'm having tuna goop.
Helps to be hungry for that.
Okay, Mits...we'll be standing, you are on Maternity Watch.
Lolly, when you get your energy back, you will be, as Lynn says, a "Whirling Dervish."
Full Moon is out.
Hidey seems restless
I'm like that when I am hungry !
Uh, standing by. I am actually sitting right now.
And now I'm watching Mei too
Hidey always seems restless, think she has ADD
Mei was doing some strange movements a moment ago.
I am home and caught up on blog. It sounds like I better get the Panda Cam open.
Yep, she looks rather, restless as you said earlier, thought there was going to be a little bundle after that least heaving and rocking routine
hi deb ☺
Lynn & Dana could get that panda cub for their b-day present yet!
I was a'wonderin' when we would see you AND Deb, Mema....so now, I ain't wondering anymore.
Sounds, wonderful....did you remember to honk when got into West Virginia ? ☺
If Lynn freezes some of that cake, and takes it out just before she leaves Hedgesville on May 23- it should be just right for lunch!
Can't get NZ open....maybe too many viewers....keeping on trying, tho'...
Wind is STILL blowing hard, but no rain...air is getting chilly, but doesn't feel humid anymore.
Lolly, please don't overdo. Are you still coughing so much?
Mits, are you too anxious to go to bed???
You can have my spot, Lynn....
I have a few more things to take care of, expecting some company Sunday...
Good Night, all
God Bless Us, Every One xo ☺ ♥
Lynn, I hope you and Dana and Mema's Kristin get your Panda Cub Birthday present...52 minutes to go before it's tomorrow
Mei is lying flat out and sleeping -
I am taking the hint and off I go....
Good Night All
Prayers for all our needs being said
((hugs)) ♥
I am tired, it has been a long day. I will finish looking at my pictures tomorrow. My eyes are going cross ways. I saw a lot of shore birds and have been trying to figure out what they are. I do know one is a Wilson's Phalarope, that one was easy. Also a couple of beautiful Black-crowned Night Herons let me get a really good look at them.
well I'm sure Mei gave the cam person a bit of a scare there for a while, but looks like she has settled in, so I will too. BTW the cams should be shut down at he actual birth if there is one, they do not have a contract with animal planet anymore, so zoo will have the complete rights to any videos, which is as it should be
good night for real now.
Okay, Ceil, I mean Margy, oh I really mean Mits !
Mei does seem to be more calm.
I guess it is time to turn in.
Maybe Mei will grace all Momsters tomorrow with a little one for Mother's Day;)
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Fantatic Wanda! I do hope they bloom beautifully for you next year!
Please hug your Mother for me tomorrow. Do not know GeeGee but would love to.
Going to go bathe. Time for bed!
