GOOD MORNING MEGAN, GLO AND DANELLE.. Yes, do be careful out there. The roads must be really bad. I haven't heard any cars pass by our house yet and of course, schools are closed.
It looks like that crazy blog thingy is gone. Hope it stays that way. Too early to try to figure out where to go next refresh. If that was something new being tried out on us, I don't think anyone liked it. Couldn't see a purpose.
LOL Wanda...at least that explains all my silliness when I first cam eon. I htought gosh no one has posted yet this morning. I even found myself wondering if there were power outages or what not. Found our way around though I guess and yes its gone for now but I et it returns at 100 posts JMHO.
Gonna fix some tea and get out the dog iscuits. heck aroudn the other nests.
. There is FeedBlitz again this morning I am never for sure if folks are findng them but I surely hope so. I do put a lot of time and effort into them.

Oh, yes, Glo, we do find your Feedblitz. Seems we have been too busy to comment, but are certainly grateful for your efforts. You are Super for giving us all the info and wonderful videos!
Well hello beautiful Norma. This is not a snow day, it's an ice day. Unfortunately daughter had a great field trip planned to the Japanese festival at the Kennedy Center in DC today. Sort of bummed out about that, they can't make it up,the festival ends this week.

Need to read comments..... Thanks Sharon for the early am picture in my email & Steve for posting one with your comments!
Always nice to get whatever info we have out there however we can. Learn more and more about eagles everyday. Successful nests do not always mean happy healthy cute little fluff balls with narely a glitch in their early lives, that is for sure.
I love watching and sharing eagle info with friends. It is an awesome experience although at times alarming, confusing, and sometimes downright troublesome.
Hello Jo, Glo and Paula! Just came back in, horrible outside, pouring rain, 30°, dog was having a terrible time out there. You need ice skates or cleats to get around. Still quite a patch of rain to go before it stops.
Doesn't our REGAL BELLE look BEAUTIFUL sitting on the nest!!! (if it is LIBERTY--just allow me to think it's BELLE) ho!----Takes so little to make me happy!!
Our power went out for a very short period of time around 8am.. It's the ice on the trees bringing the limbs down - Precipitation is rain now. Temps are rising.....
Good Morning all. It is 9 here this morning, but we are headed to 33! Better enjoy today while I can. It is supposed to be -10 by tomorrow night. BW cam is back up for now.
MORNIN' DEB!!---If it gets to 33° ---you will probably think you are having a 'heat wave'---KIDDIN'-----Your BLUE FLAG is blowing---LOOKS GREAT!!!----wish I had a WV flag!!!
Nope Norma, when she broke her hand last year, she was lucky enought to get a laptop. I finally did figure out last night how to make the router work, so she can oick up broadband anywhere in the house. Hello Deb!
I really am laughing so hard I can't type!!!----PRECIOUS SQUIGGLE was on the table---didn't go down log---JUMPED on the floor---over to the WATER FOUNTAIN?---JUMPED UP & down & everything else from attempting to standing on his head, etc.!!!-BAI kept walking by--ignoring--PRECIOUS stayed on top of fountain!----then BAI with one "SMACK" KNOCKED PRECIOUS OFF FOUNTAIN & 'poor baby' was rolling on the floor!!----TOO FUNNY!---
I did, Dana, thanks. Sorry I missed it last night, forgot it was on. Can't seem to step away from the computer for long... It's cool, Paula, daughter even liked watching that cam, can't wait til out live feed is up.
Hello Everyone, Almost time for me to head out, but just wanted to say what beautiful Eagle parents we have!!! Who could ask for a more inspiring pair to watch! They are Awesome!!!
MORNIN'IRIS!!---Good question about VA'S EAGLES!!-----Have had you in my prayers---most of my friends have had this surgery----They wore glasses before---but now they don't----STAY COOL!--we are with you in this------
I just saw the Mom feeding them Norma..Cool. It is a lot easier to add a picture to your blog name now, you don't have to do it the old way. Just click on your profile, it has a place to add a pic very easily.
'Morning eagle lovers. Whoa - that picture of belle this morning gave me cold chills! I don't even want to think of last year's ice and snow in our nest. Well, I had a surprise this morning. It was 30 degrees, with freezing rain and ice on the snow on the ground, on the trees and my car when I left home this morning at 10:00. When I got up here on this mountain (20 minutes later), it was 37 degrees, sprinkling rain and all the snow from yesterday was gone! What crazy weather! I'm hoping for a thaw down Shepherstown way. :-)
Oh Dana & Megan - I just looked out of my door to the deck and admist all the icy trees sat a brilliant red cardinal on the railing! Sooooooo beautiful
The only other cam I look at is the panda cam at Atlanta Zoo...I' get addicted so quickly and thoroughly that I avoid the other cams. Sometimes I pop over to Pete's Pond, though. Yes, the Norfolk cam is interesting, to say the least! 2 moms and a dad? 2 dads and a mom? LOL!
Jo, it is easy - especially if I did it! You could temporarily replace the tree and then use it again later. I have a picture in the center of my desktop screen and change it every week or so. Sometimes I re-use ones that I used before and really like.
Come on, NORMA - it's your turn to add a picture. Some of you were talking about fleas yesterday. Did you know that dogs and cats can get intestinal worms from fleas? My vet told me that a couple of years ago. NORMA and JILL - I saw an article on the Charleston Gazette website this morning that Seneca Caverns closed suddenly. So far, they are not saying why. Those caverns are only a stone's throw from here.
I am going to volunteer at the "Safe Haven fo Donkeys in the Holy Land" twice a week, I think. A friend of mine works there 3 times a week for 3-4 hours....that's good for me. Those donks are starved for love!
CAROL---You are up on top of my list too!!!---SAVE THE POLAR BEAR!!---I saw a program on the polar bear!---The POLAR is much different than the other bears!!They are just AWESOME!!!----We need to save them too!!---
CAROL---Will watch the paper---for SENECA CAVERNS---I take the Gazette---but this week it's a day behind!!!---Will let you know if I find out!!---You have warmer weather than we do here!!--It's 34°now----But everything is iced over here!!!
MORNIN' JILL!!----Aren't you the person who has a cat that is allergic to fleas??----Did you read what CAROL said about fleas!!Hope you find some FUN things to do this week!
Rest of Today-Wednesday Freezing rain likely late this morning...then rain mixing with snow likely this afternoon. Highs in the upper 30s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.
Tonight Mostly cloudy. A chance of snow in the evening. Lows in the mid 20s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 50 percent.
Thursday(Valentine's Day) Sunny. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 10 to 15 mph.
I work crosswords----Program on WASH. CH. 7---12:30 has a crosswords puzzle show!!--GREAT!!---Today-- the word missing---what is named GAO GAO?---"I YELLED IT OUT BEFORE THE CONTESTANT DID!!!----See we learn many things everyday on this BLOG!!!! ho!
What one on earth is with this blog?? Everytime i come on the things are changin around??? This blog box is at bottom of page Hmmm? So good afternoon.. Spent avery bad night sick but feelin better now .. I have checked cams and all is well.. although Norfolk nest was empty saw her/him them fly out earlier..lol Today is my dads 83rd birthday... he is so funny and cantankerious any more.. But still calls me his Big Momma..lol So Belle is resting on the eggs she did a very good job of protecting them for the elements... Jo the blog would not be the blog without your tree its special to us all... Although i must say my darling JAZZY is my VALENTINE LOVE...Well i have things to do and go into work at 4pm... Grrr got to clean off car too... Prayers for all in need and those who dont it always helps..lol Glo your aspecial lady also working hard and doing special things for us to enjoy.. Thanks... Now i asked yesterday about buying mouse pads? Are they still available? BBL
Hi Nilla - Can't you get someone to clean off the car for you..... That is hard work unless it is safe to let it run and warm up to melt the ice..
Paula - If Lib isn't tenting a little - what is he doing all puffed up or is that shadows ..Do you see a small sprig of pine on the right hind side of him? Didn't see who put it there -
Thanks Paula i will go in awhile an order some things...Sure wish i could get one with the picture of the new eggs??? Will you be making any nre items with this seasons egg picture? Jo remember i live alone although my employee Eugene stays here with me because he lives in Pa and to save money he stays with me.. but working his other job so No and son lives in the boonies cant get out to go any wheres.. I will just run the car like ya said... Oh my im hiding my angel dust in my hair and its been 25 minutes yikes need to wash it !!! ... BBL
Cleaning the car should be so bad, my ice just slid off. I did however take a slippery trip down the back steps to get the dog. Now my left wrist, right elbow and hip hurt really bad, so I think I will go take some tylenol and lay down. If you don't hear from me later it is because I can't type, but I will check in.
LORDY JILL!!!---You watch out--you can really get hurt on the ice!!---I know you have had your 21st birthday----but that doesn't make you a WONDER WOMAN!!--ho!!--TAKE IT EASY KID!!!
I was watching Norma. That is the third time today I went down those steps, no trouble at all the first two. Then boom. Stupid dog won't be going outside again til Brad gets home. Used to he would just do his business on the deck when it was icy but not this year, no he has to go check out the yard, see if anything has changed, then won't come back up the icy steps. ARGGGGH.
MORNIN' JIM!!!---You should have seen PRECIOUS SQUIGGLES this a.m.---She was a RIOT---BAI--just 'SWATTED" her to the floor & the LITTLE IMP!!---Just got up & went on her merry way!!---ADORABLE!
Yes, my WV picture is back, but so far it isn't refreshing.
Norfolk: The eagle on the eggs leaves constantly and comes back today, and someone on the Maine blog expressed a fear that one of the pair is MIA. What do you people, who have been keeping track of it this morning, think is going on??
Nilla Not sure if your mousepad question was for me or Paula or both but yes I do still have a mousepad available to. You can see it here
Eaglecam Blogspot Mousepad There is no longer any mark up for this one , it is the Cafe Press price. Its pretty cute though and with all the new Bloggers someone might like it for sure. Take a Look.
I can definitely put the mousepad with the 3 awesome fledges and Steves quote back in the shop if I thought folks were interested, but we do have a new Eagle Season coming and of course even though Mom and Dad are the same the little ones will find a place of their own in all of our hearts.
Thanks, Paula. Very encouraging to know they are both still with us.
I checked Norfolk weather and it is close to 70° there ... more than 10° warmer than sunny (spelled "FOGGY") So Cal today ... so I guess there's not too much danger to the eggs that way.
They are making me wonder what they are protecting against now though.
Thanks, Mema Jo.. The video fills in a lot of blanks, and you can see that the pair is still scanning the skies for intruders, whether they're currently attacking or not.
Maybe the reason they're so often away from the nest is they are operating a sentinel system, so they don't get blind sided in the nest area again.

Need to read comments..... Thanks Sharon for the early am picture in my email & Steve for posting one with your comments!
Here is a totally different perspective on what happened at norfolk yesterday See what you think
Who is the real parent here>
Morning, all.
Steve, I think that is one of the reasons we are hooked on these birds. They never cease to amaze us!
Yes, Glo, we were discussing that video last night in the WVEC chat room. We don't think the DFIG biologist saw the whole thing....
Well Glo, Paul (deocer) has just confused me with the facts! His opinion could very well be the Rest of the Story!
Need to hear some more opinions !!
Anyone see that nice egg roll? Eggs look good!
Well, Glo, it looked to me as if an intruder was trying to be a surrogate parent and the real parent chased it away. JMHO
If I suddenly disappear it's won't be a panda nap it will be a power outage!
Gosh MeMa Jo and I was just about to say whoever is on the nest doesn't seem to be tenting anymore right now, maybe the storm is letting up.
Morning Jo and Paula.
Boy Glo that sure puts a different thought to what happened. hummmmmm

Jo, it is easy - especially if I did it! You could temporarily replace the tree and then use it again later. I have a picture in the center of my desktop screen and change it every week or so. Sometimes I re-use ones that I used before and really like.
Eagle back at nest at NBG 12:34
Who knows if it is a parent or another eagle. I sure don't know. Although I can tell you an eagle is setting on the eggs again.
See? I added a pic too....it was easy (even for me!)
Hi Geula I love you picture too ( :
Hey everybody. What a mess. Waiting to take Zach to Sheetz to meet his ride to Wisp. Crazy kids.
Megan-what was the final fix for your daughters computer?
Haven't checked any cams yet but I would guess any on the east coast are soaked. Zach says it is 36 here now but raining.
My desktop pic is a beautiful eagle the someone sent in ti the Momster's group......beeeeeeautiful!
Those caverns are only a stone's throw from here.
no video cam yet, huh? I'm waiting...
I am going to volunteer at the "Safe Haven fo Donkeys in the Holy Land" twice a week, I think. A friend of mine works there 3 times a week for 3-4 hours....that's good for me. Those donks are starved for love!
GEULA - I currently have NILLA's picture of Belle looking at her 3 eggs on my desktop.
Jill let me know how the roads are in town when you get back.
Geula is that very far from where you live?
It's about 20 minutes away by car... so it's pretty close. But then again, EVERYTHING is pretty cose in this country!
LOL
AWWW! GEULA---You have stolen my heart with your 'donkey'----awwwwwwww!!
I usually put pics on my desktop of the grandkids..... I have quite a selection to choose from....
Carol - For sure let us all know about Seneca Caverns when you find out.
Geula - I love the donkey - is it
Eeyore? Norma collects donkeys - watch out she might snatch him....lol

Yes, Nilla - I still have mouse pads available!

Hi Nilla - Can't you get someone to clean off the car for you..... That is hard work unless it is safe to let it run and warm up to melt the ice..

Just glad the eagle pairs are doing so well protecting the eggs in that freezing weather.
Check out Squiggles right now.

[:~)]
Jim
Are they having troubles at Norfolk again today? I see the eagles are off the nest.
[:~)]
Jim
Cleaning the car should be so bad, my ice just slid off. I did however take a slippery trip down the back steps to get the dog. Now my left wrist, right elbow and hip hurt really bad, so I think I will go take some tylenol and lay down. If you don't hear from me later it is because I can't type, but I will check in.
There were several DIVERS!----4-5 at one time!!---Every time I get ready to quit watching---another would come down!
LORDY JILL!!!---You watch out--you can really get hurt on the ice!!---I know you have had your 21st birthday----but that doesn't make you a WONDER WOMAN!!--ho!!--TAKE IT EASY KID!!!
Really getting a birds'eye view of the NBG nest tree........
Zoomers are really taking us for a fast ride..............WOW
Daily slideshow on NBG site of about 22 pics available now... Titled INTRUDER
Our WV cam just went down... anybody else have that problem?
[:~)]
Jim
JILL---Does that mean you aren't having FUN playing with your DOG?? Going to give him away??---KIDDIN'
Good here, Jim
JIM---Mine is there now!!!
IRIS TIME!
Nilla - don't have anything in the works as far as new mouse pads...but you can take your pic over to Cafe Press and make one from it...
Jim - seems like the intruder is probably still around at Norfolk - but hasn't made it even close to the nest yet
[:~)]
Jim
Now the picture is refreshing too.
[:~D]
Jim
BWE has stopped tenting at least for now.

Eggs turned our nest
Jim - I saw both parents at VA just a short time ago
BWO has an immature and an adult eagle perched, I think. Soggy looking birds.
Immature and adult at BWO
Tenting our nest!

I just learned about some new technology that will be offered by Microsoft very soon. Check it out at:
www.microsoft.com/surface/
There was a song back in the 60's that said "Time, time, time is slowly slipping into the future..."
I think time is on a fast track nowadays!

Patriotsgirl says:
Still dealing with intruders and now we're left to try to figure out just who's who???
The immature at BWE looks like a smallish male. Could be related to our pair ... hard to tell with no wing blings or anything.
[:~)]
Jim
I WONDER HOW CLOSE WE ARE TO THE
LIVE FEED & AUDO?
Any good news yet, Steve?
WOw- Norfolk cam is really zoomed in on eagle.
OOps, eagle flew back to nest, and now I've lost pic
Thanks, Mema Jo.. The video fills in a lot of blanks, and you can see that the pair is still scanning the skies for intruders, whether they're currently attacking or not.
Maybe the reason they're so often away from the nest is they are operating a sentinel system, so they don't get blind sided in the nest area again.

Jim
I wonder if when we hit the count of
201 if the page will split like it did last night? MTBR
