GOOD MORNING 'NEW THREAD' EAGLE BUDDIES!!!---Receiving my weekend calls from grand-kids!!---MISS them like crazy!!!!---But this conversation was interrupted by some one (?) spilling maple syrup!!---ho---what's happening in the NESTS????
Norma, I was around all the time the year of Spunk and the gang, and a little last year. Have not been on at all this year until now. No time to explain now....maybe later.
MORNIN' IRIS----YES!--HELEN--BIRD GIRL & INDIANA DAVE were on before I received my phone call!!---WONDERFUL to have some many on a SATURDAY a.m.!!!---WV's weather is to be COLD & WET!!---now 32° ---FOGGY & DREARY!!!----But--LIFE IS GOOD!!---ENJOY!!
GOOD SATURDAY MORNING TO ALL EAGLE WATCHERS OUT THERE: JO, MEGAN, GLO, NORMA, IRISF, JIM, LONG LOST SANDY, DAVE, CHRISSY AND OTHERS DURING NIGHT WATCH!
I remember you SANDY!!---SPUNKY was so COOL---wasn't "SHE"?---I always thought SPUNKY was female---EVERYONE ELSE--knew he was MALE!!--ho!---I thought you were SANDRA OSBORNE when you logged on!!---GREAT TO HAVE YOU BACK!
Hey Norma, Mits, and JIm and Paula:) You got it right, Sandy. Not snowing here now, Jim, just cold and dreary. Rained a little very early this morning. We dodged the storm they were prediciting, thank goodness. Our kids definitely could have gone to schoool yestrday-but hindsight is always 20/20.
I don't know if you read on the other thread that I saw one (probably the male) of the originals at VA this morn, and he had been bringing fresh pine branches into the nest.
It's looking like the younger female may be gone, however it happened, and that the original pair might be starting over.
Thanks, Megan, I think it might have been a glitch in the picture, because it looks fairly clear in the nest now again.
Good morning to Paula, Mits, Candy and "Sandy in Carolina."
I used to think everyone was a little bonkers with the exact opposite sex names (Big Guy, Ms. In-Between, Spunky) a couple of years ago, but now of course I know better.
MEGAN---I AGREE---we lucked out on the weather yesterday!!---Saw BOONESBORO on TV a few times yesterday!!----That is DEVASTING!!-----Am I correct in thinking the burned bldgs. were all owned by the ROBERTS family!!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... We really have a full house. I remember Sandy...She had a niece whose horse won a race or something like that and I thought it was our Sandy in Shepherdstown. It was last April or May when I first joined this group. NO, JIM, It is not snowing here. It hasn't for a good while now.
It looks just awful, Norma, the Robert's family has been acquiring buildings downtown for a few years. Their son owned the pizza place across the street, it caught fire last year in January. Robets also owns a bookstore in Boonsboro, and her son opened a new restaurant diagonally across from the hotel.
Thanks, Wanda, loving broadband:) Must get away from computer soon and gop get birdseed, almost out and the birds will riot if they are not fed. Norma, yesterday I counted 38 cardinals at one time around my feeding area, males females and young ones..
WANDA!!!----THANK YOU--THANK YOU!!!---I have been trying to remember that about SANDY!!----I kept thinking it was something about a dog----A HORSE!!! ---YES!---Because I told everyone in Romney that it was SANDY in SHEPHERDSTOWN!!---Thanks!!
Megan, I wish your taxes check would come in so we could hear about you planting your flower seeds and it would really feel like spring was at least coming. I have daffodils already coming up in my yard and our two bushes of camelias are blooming.
Hey NORMA! Have you seen your divers lately? I can't seem to get into the blog anymore at school, so I have to come home and catch up if I can stay awake longer.
As far as cake goes, I just love a dark chololate cake with white boiled icing on it. My Mom used to make it every year for my birthday.
I see we had another bad guy on here again, named FOX. What a shame. Good times never last forever before people have to come in and spoil it for others.
Just hang in there Candy,I'm still waiting on the feds, and trying to figure out how we will heat the Gh this year, the price of propane has skyrocketed, may switch to wood heat. But I am looking at ssed orders online as we spaek. Just signed up for a brand new mkt. near DC too. MTBR
GOOD MRONING PAULA! Did I hear someone say that you might get out to California again this year to see the nests on vacation? One egg is already there and waiting for your visit.
Also saw you all getting ready for an early trip to the nest in May. Sounds super to me. I might even take off of work myself this time. Missed the open house in the fall. I am getting more gutsy the closer to retirement I get. Just one more year to go I think, and then I can be a full time watcher. Yahhoooo! Can't wait.
GOOD MORNING HELEN. So very glad to see you are getting on more and more. Sure hope things are on the mend, but it will still take some time. We all gasped at hearing you had 5 hernias operated on. We are going to start calling you the the best "bite the bullet" person we ever knew.
CANDY---OOOOH YEAH!---The DIVERS have been on more frequently than before!!---YESTERDAY---The WAVER was back!!!---ho!-----Regarding the cake!!---JILL was teasing me about being old enough to remember FROSTING IN A CAN!!-----Later--I remembered---my MOTHER was like all the others---when the 'box cake'--was introduced!!!---NO GOOD MOTHER WOULD FEED THEIR FAMILY 'BOX CAKE'!!!!!!! ho!---Do remember that!!---You kids are to young to remember those days!!! ho!
MORNIN' DEB---I missed seeing you sign on!!---What's your weather!!--Our EAGLES lucked out--didn't get all the extreme weather!!!----Hey--have you gotten the pics ready for us to view!!---So anxious to see the GYRFALCON!!---What did you say the gyrfalcon ate??
WHOA HELEN!!---This summer you can take the 'LITTLE PRINCE' some flowers!!!---I am trying to vision that now!!----'LOOK MOM--NO HAND'--KIDDIN'----TAI is a LOVER not a FIGHTER!!
Norma, the gyrfalcon ate a quail. Luckily for me, you couldn't see much of it. I got the pictures posted last night. It took me so long because somehow I lost some of the red-tailed hawk pictures. I finally gave up and posted what I could.
Yep, Mits, that's wwhy we decided to go til 7-by the time we pack up hopefully traffic won't be a nightmare. Sat on 270 too many times, don't know how people can stand it everyday.
You all laugh, there will be people with shorts on today. (most of us think they are crazy) Definitely no coat, just a sweatshirt, for errands. It isn't supposed to last, so we will enjoy it!
Did someone say OLD FRIENDS? Anyone remember the gal from Commode Town, IL that likes to make trips to the nest? Speaking of nest visits, don't forget to let me know when the next one is planned! I'd nevah forgive you if I was not invited!
Norma, the gyrfalcon is new to the show. To help it feel calmer, they feed her during the show. They said it helps her feel that she is in control. She had a great grip on that bird. They try not to take her to shows with a lot of small kids. If a bird gets upset, they put them away immediately. They don't want them to be stressed.
It is 32° right now and the week ahead doesn't look as if anything ominus is on the way, so Lib and Belle will be OK.
Today: Cloudy with rain and snow. High 36F. Winds light and variable. Chance of precip 30%. Tonight: Some lingering evening flurries or snow showers. Clearing. Low 22F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow: Mainly sunny. High 42F. Winds light

WHO could forget COMMODE CITY VICKY???----Hey we MISS you!!!---Are you feeling better?---Hope you are----So many illnesses on the blog lately!!!----Stay WELL!--ya hear!!
On yesterday's thread I said: Nest Visit In picking a date for the nest visit, we need to consider that it can't be too early - Wanda would be gone and Eaglets wouldn't be little bobble heads yet. It can't be too late - Robyn will have moved and the eaglets may have fledged. I think we want a bobble head - wing flapping day to visit! Similar to where the Tesoro eaglets are now. It would have to be a Road Side Visit. No one would be allowed during this time up at the barn. Perhaps we could get Steve to bring out the scope like the very 1st visit to the nest - however; I know the visit would be on a Saturday. IT WILL HAPPEN
FUN SHOW!!!---PINK FLAMINGO SITE!!!---FLAMINGOS are standing back & about a dozen of the BEAUTIFUL BLACK & WHITE DUCKS---have taken over!!---diving--& splashing each other!!!---show offs!
The eagle in Maine is still there. You can see its tail and right wing. It is up on the branch that goes to the left of the nest. I thought it had left, then I saw it move.
I'm here. Went walking with my girlfirend, then to the grocery store, now back....for a few minutes anyway. My 7yo wants me to come out and play and its beautiful!
I am about as far from the Outer banks as you can physically get and still be in NC..LOL I am actually MUCH closer to Bluefirld WV.
Thanks for the "welcome backs!"
Been watching our nest for a few minutes. The fiasco in VA fascinates me!

In picking a date for the nest visit, we need to consider that it can't be too early - Wanda would be gone and Eaglets wouldn't be little bobble heads yet. It can't be too late - Robyn will have moved and the eaglets may have fledged.

Perhaps we could get Steve to bring out the scope like the very 1st visit to the nest - however; I know the visit would be on a Saturday. IT WILL HAPPEN
