Hi Linda! Just checking in for a moment before taking Hunter to school. He has a delayed opening this morning. We got a dusting of snow, but the roads look clear. It has to be pretty cold because that dusting of snow is all over rooftops, grass, etc. Looks similar to the scene at the nest. I see that the nest is rocking. Our eagle is settled into the egg cup.
Good morning - I made it to the flip side. Doesn't look as thought the nest got that second snowfall as I did. I am very happy about that. Happy to see that the morning crew was here and for all their comments.
BEAGLE - good to see you here - I do remember you joined us in the past but with my absent minded way nowadays - please introduce yourself again.
Keep your eyes out for a second egg today. There are usually 2 day intervals between eggs. Belle in the past was good at laying 3 eggs.
I watched some of Jeopardy last evening and before the champion was named I had fallen into a deep deep sleep - when I opened my eyes it was 10:30. I need to ask them at Chemo today what they gave me! lol I guess I was able to go back to sleep around 2am. I played solitaire for an hour or so. It is what it is.... Everyone stay warm and wear your boots if needed...♥
Just read this on Facebook. looks like it could be another sad nesting season at Blackwater:
Nest Update - Blackwater Refuge - 2/10/16: From what we can tell, it appears the eggs were left uncovered the entire evening and are now no longer viable. We saw two adults on the nest together as recently as Monday, but a cam watcher did see images (video) that seemed to indicate an intruder around the nest. We'll update the web log on Wednesday night.
I just was alerted to Blackwater's horrible news, Sandi. That's 2 seasons in a row with eggs but no hatchlings. I am thinking of Lisa, Webmaster, and just how sorry I am for them.
Jo, I was lucky and just happened to be watching the live feed when Shep arrived with a bloody fish in his talons. Belle grabbed it right away and moved it off-camera. In reality, all of our live cams are slightly off based on how long each of us had had it running and the amount of buffering. I read Linda's comment that Shep had returned but he hadn't shown up on my live feed yet. So after reading her comment, I knew to watch for his arrival.
I just went back to see what has happened and I see you all have been busy with the nest. So you have been watching two eagles enjoying breakfast. :) Glad to turn on the cam to see that the nest had hardly any snow on it. That is a good start to the day.
Good morning Jo, Shirley, Linda, Jerry, Sandi and anyone else on the other side that I omitted. I was sad to read about the Blackwater nest losing their eggs again this year. It is heartbreaking. I hope our nest is going to be nothing but good news this year.
Jo safe trip to chemo and back. You are in our hearts and minds. Mass today at 6pm for Ash Wednesday; the choir sings.
Looks like Belle is back on the egg. Did anyone get a look at it? I couldn't see it in the cup this time. It really must be deep in there.
Hi Delphia - I have been following you on FB - Thanks for coming on the blog to see us I am so pleased for you and your health report - When you going to send me ZOE ???? ♥
The weather at the nest is a match for that of my area, too, SHIRLEY. Brrrrrr. Penny and I will stay snug as bugs in rugs today.
Thanks gals for the early bird reporting and details on the fishy meal a little later.
Saddened by the Blackwater news. Deeply saddened.
DELPHIA, thanks for dropping in. Great health news! I always look forward to your sharing of AZ wildlife news.
LOLLY, thinking of your family and your bereaved friends today.
JO, mega-prayers today! More pie afterward or will you change it up. I think I'd want the best vanilla milkshake in town myself, even on a cold winter day.☺
I missed that Candy - I was over in my email.........As long as one of them is there I guess it really doesn't matter which one it is. I dislike naming them due to almost always being incorrect.
CAM NEWS FROM IT AT NCTC: After the cam tour, the shot will stay wide until 2PM then automatically zoom back in until the next cam tour every day.
JUDYE Did you leave your eggs in the Shepherdstown nest overnight? :)
JO I hope the egg isn't so far down that it falls out the bottom of the nest! :)
Welcome Delphia. So glad to see you back with our eagle family. So far, just one egg. Jo thinks that maybe there will be another today. Fingers crossed.
Sandi captured a pic of the egg down in the egg cup during the last switch - fantastic pic showing the true depth of the cup. Plenty of room in there for some more eggs. Thx Sandi
l eagle still in net with it's back to us. Just finished my fast walking and now have to go get my clothes laid out for Church tonight. Have to take a look at Sandi's pic of egg in egg cup.
HOORAY,HOORAY!!!!! A first Eggbert!!! Just got onto internet at a good time. Between 'puter glitches, snow-power off and on and lots of other stuff, thought I'd never get here. Now blogger won't let me edit my profile for a new avatar. "Page not available"!!!? Sorry, that's enough from Maxine! Have a great SUNNY Day ☺

Good morning Sandi, Linda, Shirley and Jo. I see an eagle in nest. Jo - hope you have another good day. On short break. Take care all.
Belle is up....off the cup
Shep returns......both in the nest
Shep may have brought breakfast as Belle looks to be eating off to the left.....but I am not sure!
I just was alerted to Blackwater's horrible news, Sandi. That's 2 seasons in a row with eggs but no hatchlings. I am thinking of Lisa, Webmaster, and just how sorry I am for them.
These darn INTRUDERS sure know when to strike!
Wow - a big fish was just delivered. Belle grabbed it. The egg is currently uncovered but both are on the nest.
Good Morning to you, SHIRLEY and JO!
Praying for a good day for you at Chemo today, JO and they don't give you anything that interrupts your sleep that way!
SANDI - Sad news about the eggs at Blackwater........
Belle is definitely eating.......so Shep did bring breakfast.
Both still in the nest while Belle eats.
I must have looked away when Shep brought the big fish! Thanks for that update!
I'm off to my appointment.......
Will check in later!!
Breakfast has been brought in and both are in the nest.
Sandi what is your secret - how did you see the size of the fish with the camera zoomed????
I can't see down into that "sink hole" of an egg cup - lol
Good Morning, CANDY!
Belle poofed.........Shep is tending the nest
Good Morning Eagle buds I see cam is back and not much snow in nest YEAH

CANDY - It is as deep as a FL sink hole - lol
Sandi - any chance you got a picture? That would have had to bed a quicky.
Good morning everyone :) Your Very Own Bird Girl here!
Sorry I haven't been active on the blog, but as you know, my life has gotten much busier in the last few years as my health has improved a bit.
I am so pleased to see Belle finally gifted us with an egg, I was getting SOOOOO worried that we would have no eggs this season!
My recent medical issue is being handled and has turned out not to be as severe as previously thought, so I am thankful for that.
Hope you are all well!
