Good Thursday Morning to ALL ♥

Thank you Steve for this fresh new thread - I haven't had a feather in a long time

Going to older thread and invite others over.

Judie said...

Good morning!

Looky looky at Jo! She has a beauteous Wednesday feather for her cap. Enjoy.

Thank you Steve for the mid-week thread.

Yes, Allie looks ever so innocent. One would never guess she lives in a red light bulb neighborhood. Adorable kitten, Shirley.

Heading out to forage. Prayers for Robyn and Tori.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Psst Judie - Not Wed - it is throw back Thursday. CT day for me.
I will accept all prayers and good vibes - won't know results until tomorrow! TY

Good Morning, Eagle Buds!!!

STEVE, thanks for the new thread and thanks, too, to that gal with a nice new feather, JO, for calling us over!

JO, thinking of you on this CT day---prayers and positive thoughts!!!

JUDIE, it's Thursday---hope you didn't miss an appt. since Wednesday has come and gone.

SHIRLEY, I agree with the consensus, Allie has an angelic look about her! Hope it was the green light shining on your porch last night.☺

I've nuttin' but nuttin' to say except that Malcolm will soon be here to spend the day. Heavy winds--30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50----yikes, we won't be outside much today!

Prayers for all in need!!! Praying for the answers Tori needs soon!!!

Good morning!

Prayers go with you today, Jo!

Front came through with no wind and no rain, but thankfully it is cooler. It was hot yesterday!

Today I have a meeting and luncheon and plan to run errands afterwards!

Tried to light a candle last night, but apparently can not click on the wick from my iPad! Lol. Oh, well, prayers are for Tori!

Have a great day!

Good morning eagle buds Just got back from the bank, work and now have to go to the police dept

Long story short someone has been using my checking acct to pay their bills elec, phone and satellite in GA going to file a complaint with police I want to prosecute these people Their names are on my statement Bank will refund me the $ but just a hassle have to do all this stuff Had to change my direct deposit at work and the bank will do the SSN office but advised me to also call

THANKS STEVE FOR THE SHINY NEW THREAD AND THE CALL OVER JO OFF I GO to get er done
plus dinner later at Jordyn school at 5 and then back to the bank in the am I set up auto bill pay with them for a safer way of banking and a saving acct there also So will also need to go to other bank close that acct to transfer funds to new one I will only have one bank then

Mema Jo said...

Sorry for all the hassle Judy - I'm sure I would take it to the limits also. Hoping it all gets straightened out for you.

JudyEddy said...

Just back from the police dept and filed a report and they are as excited as I am to find these people since their names are all over my statements

So funny I just got a comment on one of my blogs from two years ago in regards to the christmas trees I crochet I guess she google it looking for the directions and the blog I put it on comes up so she sent me a comment and I told her I would be happy to send it to her if she can't see it from the blog page

NCSuzan said...

Lolly, I am so sorry that you cannot light a candle. Just spent some time on my iPad trying to figure it out and wonder why you just can't tap and voila! Bet it is something simple we are missing.

Jo, we'll be excited to hear of your great news tomorrow!

Have a great afternoon!

grannyblt said...

Suzan and Lolly, I haven't figured out how to light a candle from my iPad either. Just know I am doing it in spirit.

Sandi said...

Hi all from school. Have spent the day helping the special ed. coordinator. She will have my new assignment by Monday morning.

Jo, sending prayers and positive energy your way for excellent news about today's CT scan!

Judy, what a pain! Did the bank offer any suggestion about how this person got your account information? The only checks I write are the 2 each month to get my nails done. All bills are paid through my online banking and purchases are all put on 1 Visa card which is paid in full every month. Setting up the online bill pay will take a little time but it's worth it.

I will check in again this evening.

JudyEddy said...

SANDI I asked the bank if I should go to the police they said that they can't give legal advise But if it were them they would go I said I want to see these people prosecuted for theft so I went to the police station and did file the report the officer was so sweet and nice and funny. We joked around to where he turned off the lights and turned on his flash light that has stobe light so funny the reason is when I got there I was first at 1045 then a couple came in right after me fraud on their bank and then three people came in for check fraud a former worker cashed their pay checks so the place was hopping The office said that they will do all they can and he said he would let me know if anything comes up. He himself said he is curious with the names being right on the statement as well as their acct # there are two completely different people on seems to be husband and wife same last names and the other has a different name and just showed up in the last month

I only write 4 checks a month to my bills Elec, Cable, Water and Credit card which will be paid off shortly On occasion to the car insurance, home insurance and taxes once a year But I have set up online banking I am going down tomorrow with my bills and he is going to show me I think I have figured it out myself when I confirmed the email they sent me after I got home But since I already made the appt I will go down, and I want to let them know I did got to the police and have a case number also.
He explained to me that with the online pay through the bank that my acct # does not get sent that they use their checks or electronically and my acct doesn't show up at all on any payments But if you set up with each individual company then your acct number is in their system and fraud could happen also
Somehow someone got a hold of one of my checks to get the info routing # and acct # but I have no checks missing and we can't figure out how Like they said maybe someone who works where my checks were sent A inside job of sorts But I am not going to fret over it So happy I found it before the middle of the month because that is when they seem to be applying the payments

and I do feel like a IDIOT for not looking at my statements better I open them and look at the 3-4 checks that were cleared copy on back but never go line by line of the ATM charges

So I just have to wait 10-14 to get my money back in the acct and will just have to wait The officer said it will be up to the bank to prosecute since I will be getting my money back but he would try to let me know

JudyEddy said...

waiting to hear how JO appt went sending healing thoughts to her and her dr

JudyEddy said...

Angie is going to the school at 330 I am going to call her to see if she wants me to come up or not

I still need to call the SSN office although the bank said they will do the leg work but I should call also just to double check I just hate being on infamous hold with them LOL and as far as going down that is a long long wait the last time I was there We are FL home of the elderly

I am thinking of going to BOA and canceling my saving acct there pull out the $$ and pay off the rest of that credit card that was up there I have until March with the no interest acct balance transfer I did Still haven't decided weather to or not Then I am going to cancel that card being I just got in in March since I opened up a cc with my bank with my checking acct. I was advised not to cancel my one old cc because I have had it for so many years although I don't use it and I don't want three cards since I really don't use them any longer

He did also advise to open up a line of credit home equity one I won't have to pay anything unless I use it For just in case of emergency happen I will have to think on that This way it is already there and won't have to go through the process if I ever need it Something to ponder on When he mentioned it stupid me said I don't want to borrow any money then that is when he explained, it is for just in case that I won't get any money unless I want it down the road So much to learn

OK book is written as you can see I can go on and on LOL as the police officer also found about LOL Now that he know where I work he said he is going to look me up

JudyEddy said...

SANDI have you heard anything on SAM just wondering I hope he gets the help he need so sad.

OH and if I pay off the credit card with the $ I take out of the saving and transfer then I will deposit most on my paycheck into my new saving acct I also got the thing for each time I use my debit card a dollar is put in it

Mema Jo said...

I have been home and had lunch. I didn't need contrast or the 2 large cups of drinking beforehand - she said that is when your stomach is included in the scan - this was just for the lungs! Tomorrow is when I will get the report. It would be so wonderful to hear
that my lungs don't have any cancer spots - just praying I can accept anything I'm told.

Sandi - glad your day is going well and hope you enjoy your new assignment.

Judy do you have your banking account on line. We do and we are paperless - we keep tabs on the account whenever we want. Totally secure server. I write very few checks - 1 a month to church and/or some special services. So far it is all good.

JudyEddy said...

JO I didn't have online banking until today I am going down tomorrow and he will show me the rope I think I have figured it out on my own but since I made the appt I might as well go down since I do want to give them the claim # from the police dept and it is typed somewhere above in the book I published LOL

JudyEddy said...

Headin out the door I called Angie and no answer. So I texted her if she wanted me to come earlier that 5 for the meal to help just as I hit send she texted me and said to come down if I wanted to so I will go see if they need help.

better than sitting here on butt LOL and did you all notice that the camera is doing the strobe light on and off through out the day not often but on and off They must be working on it Maybe

JudyE, very sorry for all the trouble with bank fraud. Please do all you can to protect your financial and credit information and keep it private. Hope your evening is enjoyable.

Sandi, looking forward to your new assignment. Can only be positive after the experience with Sam.

Happy to know that Glo has new brakes with winter weather on the way.

Kay, I had hoped you would keep the high wind over in your neighborhood but no, you just had to send it on to me and Shirley. Did get some sunshine this afternoon.

Going to make my way to the scullery.

Bowling today. We almost got to see a perfect game--on the other team. Seven consecutive strikes. She had only two frames that were not strikes. But we won one game, tied one, and had the most total pins because of our handicap. That team is in first place, and the bowler with all of the strikes is a bowling instructor.

stronghunter said...

Had to stop Hunter before he ate up all of the food I had planned for dinner. Maybe I should fix him an early dinner. Wouldn't want to see the kid starve.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Praying for good news Jo.

Tomorrow, I am going with the Riffe women for their fall weekend getaway. We are going to stay in a 3-story cabin near Asheville, NC, and going to the Biltmore Estates on Saturday. It is going to be good to get away.

I would like to report that T-Bird has a new Basset hound (well, me too). His name is George and I think he is about 1-1/2 years old. He was found wandering around a campground in Tennessee in July and I have no doubt it was in God's plan that he end up here. He is such a great dog. Hard not to compare him to Buddy but it's getting better.

Mema Jo said...

Hubby and I were out for an hour - Thank You Suzan for the Nest report.
Did anyone see at noon a cam tour... That's when I was out also.

Sharon have a fabulous weekend with those Riffe Women. Bev going to take some Pumpkin Rolls ? George does remind me of Buddy - same breed and all.

Shirley - 7 strikes all in a row - wow that's 2 1/2 turkeys!
For sure Hunter is at the age where he will eat you out of house and home!

I'll BBL - So very glad Judie caught up with us but the question is - Did Judie get her "Do" done yesterday ? ONLY HER HAIRDRESSER KNOWS ♥

Judie said...

Hi Jo. Yes, I got my "do" did on Wednesday. Problem is that I forgot that Wednesday ended and Thursday began. Hope I catch up by tomorrow which should be Monday.

Shirley, you might want to consider a loan designated as the Hunter Food Fund. A good day bowling. According to Jo, you should have plenty of turkey for Hunter.

Jo says she and Mr. Jo were out for an hour. Hmmmmm. Wonder if that involved an ice cream cone?

Did see a few minutes of the royal pair's visit earlier. They are just so lovely.

Wishing Shar and Bev and all the Rife ladies and wonderful weekend.

Headed to my recliner and then to the pillows.

Restful sleep for all.

Lynne2 said...

evening all!

Jo, hope you scan is clear as a winter sky!

Judy, hope you get all of that bank stuff cleared up ASAP!

Shirley, perhaps Hunter is having a growth spurt. Maybe you could see about bowling over some Turkeys for him to eat...

Someone please light a FRIDAY signal fire for Judie in the AM so she knows where to go.

WOW the wind is really picking up. Gust for the next 2 day up to 35-40mph! The cat keeps wanting to go out on the deck so he can walk up on the roof but he isn't allowed in this wind. He might see a shiny garland and try to catch it....

Judie, I haven't read this yet but it looks interesting and I thought you might like to read it....

Lynne2 said...

Must get in a nice hot steamy shower. I have a bronchitis, pretty sure allergy or asthma induced. Have been coughing like mad for 2 full days and not getting much sleep. Drinking extra fluids, taking Mucinex, etc., and I have no fever, but I have 2 full days of classes this weekend and while I don't feel too bad other than tired and can't catch my breath if I move too much, I sound like I belong in a TB ward. So I'll go to the Dr in the AM to see if we can do something about this. SO annoying!

stronghunter said...

Sounds like a visit to the doctor is a good idea, Lynne. You could have pneumonia.

I did fix Hunter's dinner a little earlier than usual. He gobbled it up. I have put a bowl of apples, oranges, and bananas on the coffee table in hopes that he might enjoy some fruit. I have been munching on the apples.

Jo, you said something about finding out what someone with diabetes should not eat. Kathryn did go to some classes about the appropriate diet for diabetics. The big thing she was told to avoid was fruit juice. We do not even buy orange juice.

stronghunter said...

Cheeto came into my room a little while ago. I kind of think he is ready for sleep. I am about ready to wind down myself. SED, everyone. God bless and good night.

Mema Jo said...

Lynne2 - It sure sounds like you should see a Pulmonary doc. Not sure why you know your have bronchitis other then the coughing. Does Mucinex help you cough up the junk in your lungs and is it colored or clear. Are you taking any Tussin DM cough medicine... When you say that moving around causes SOB (Shortness of Breath) sounds like pneumonia.
I'll be happy t o hear from you after your dr appointment - I'll quit asking so many questions cause you are probably in that hot steamy shower. Sleep tonight propped up
on a couple pillows or sleep in a recliner if you have one -just elevate your head.
AND call 911 if you find you can't breathe well............ You take care.

I will return late afternoon tomorrow.
Everyone take care

Goodorming my eagle friends. One eagle in the nest when I opened the live cam.

Calling out for today since it's a teacher inservice day to work on grades.

Sam is being considered for a special school (High Road) for adolescents with emotional disabilities. The district will cover 30% of the cost if the state will cover the other 70%. If the state does not agree to pay their portion, then he will be placed at the alternative school within our district. High Road School would be the better placement - a decision won't be made until December. Until then Sam will be on homebound instruction. Good luck to the teacher who agrees to take on THAT responsibility! I know who won't be doing it!!

Getting a haircut at 10am, then probably raking more leaves and pine needles that have covered the driveways.

Jo, prayers for you for good results today.

Lynne2, get thee to the doctor!

Prayers also for Tori.

Still only 1 eagle in the nest - windy morning in Shepherdstown. Nest is rockin and rollin.

Have a greyt day all.

I am anxious to find some photos or videos of the stick fight I missed. Need to see if Belle is still Queen.

I am praying that our Lynne2 had a good night & that a dr appointment is scheduled.
Prayers for Tori as she awaits news from her Transplant team.

I have all my money already credited back to me

I went into set up bill pay and first I had them check to see if my sister and electric bill cleared since they closed the old acct bobby said didn't we transfer all your acct yesterday to the new acct then that is when he realized it was the fraud team credited the money back to me and more than I thought because this months statement wasnt included yesterday. Oh I hope they catch them I hope the names on my statement are their real names. I want to convict them. They seem to working quickly
The bank said that they would notify me and the police also Hate to say it but I can't wait. Is that mean or what

Judie said...

Good mid-morning.

I googled the word "today" and so I'm pretty sure this is Friday and a sunshiny windy Friday it is. Next I'll check the date on the newspaper.

Lynne2, get yourself to a doctor, please. I'll check into the book as I had not heard of it. Of course, the title is provocative but then, if I were writing on that topic, Sam would be good for a chapter.

Sandi, speaking of Sam, hope he gets the High Road placement. Please have a lovely day at home with your girls.

Shirley, seems an early dinner, or substantial snack, for Hunter might just be the solution. As for the diabetic diet, stop by the library when (if) you have a few extra minutes and browse through a diabetic cookbook.

Jo, if you stop by before the doctor appointment, know I'm sending a little prayer along with you.

Wishing everyone a lovely day.

Well I am no longer a bank virgin LOL I just did my bills on line with my bank paid my house taxes for the year when I came home and it was easy buy why am I nervous when I do it like butterfly and anxious feeling Keep checking and double checking acct info and address to make sure no mistakes I guess
The neat thing is they send Wells Fargo checks out not mine I like that

now to go do somethings before I have to go to Angie work and then pick up Jordyn

Janet said...

Good Friday the 13th morning!
JUDYE: that check should have cleared. I try to make it a policy to drop those things asap so they aren’t floating around.
So sorry that all this nonsense has happened to you!!!
I love online banking. Mostly because I can get up every single day and check my account and know what is going on. I know what has cleared, what hasn’t, etc. Bill pay is quick simple and easy. I don’t even own a check and haven’t for a long time now. I just send things out via bill pay.
Congrats and welcome the the 21st century (and I won’t tell mom you’re not a bank virgin, lol)
When I do bill pay, my bank has a screen where you can double check to whom, how much etc. It also shows a total amount paid and I often print that screen (control P) for my own records. Just a thought.

Thinking of Sam, and the other Sam’s in the world…..hoping they find the help that they need….so sad.
Work is slow slow slow again today. I had an 8 a.m. and a noon. I will head back shortly and act like I’m working. It is beautiful out so this p.m. I plan to work outside again.
I ordered my holiday cards today and paid for them with money from my savings catcher! Nothing out of pocket, go ME!
It was chilly this morning, 45. Going into the low 30’s tonight. Same for tomorrow. FEELS like November now! I put the bird feeder out and filled it. The chickadees have already located it and chastised me as I walked past it when I came home. How DARE I interrupt their feeding frenzy!
Will check in later! Everyone, have a great day> holding all close in my heart and thoughts for their highest and greatest good!

grannyblt said...

Good morning all

Missed the nest action this morning--actually slept in.

Judy, you will love the online banking. The only time I had a problem was due to my error. I was in a hurry and didn't double check before I clicked pay bills, nor check my receipt. I added another number to amount paid which over drew me by a considerable amount. Fortunately, the bank called me and I was able to transfer funds from savings to cover the error and the company i overpaid sent me a large check. It was a hassle, but taught me to double check every transaction.

I am keeping those in need in my good thoughts.

Lynne2 said...

Good morning! Geez Janet, I hadn't realized it was Friday the 13th til you mentioned it!

Dr visit over, bronchial asthma diagnosis, probably from a virus, could be allergy (my guess...this used to happen to me every fall and more than once I missed a Thanksgiving dinner. Always seemed to coincide with leaf clean up!) need rest, have cough meds, keep drinking lots of fluids, must comply with instructions or risk pneumonia. Must call Monday if cough meds not helping. Cough med has codine....oh brother. This on the heels of the oxycodone for the kidney stone. Hopefully it won't make me stupid Lynne! I'll let you know!

JudyEddy said...

Thanks for checking in LYNNE2 and hope the new meds don't make you loopy any more that you are LOL JK

funny on the online bank the payee section wasn't long enough for Diane Nelson, CFC Pinellas County Tax Collector
It would only that the amount of the later Pinellas County Tax Collector. Then under that was a nickname area so I put Diane Nelson, CFC in that spot
I hope that will work I guess I will find out and I know before that had to be on it when I personally wrote them out had a hard time writing that all on the one line also LOL

JudyEddy said...

I am thinking about not ordering checks also since I am doing online and YES I love it because I can go back the past year and look at my acct Both accts are there and both listed separately until I get this cleared up I just have to remember to click on the new one and not try to pay anything on the old one It is only being left open for deposits work and SSN office just in case since the SSN check should be hitting in the next week I like that they did that also

I still would love to see their faces when there bills bounce back to them

I have made a file and put everything from the past couple of days just in case I have to go to court instead of filing them normally

Kay said...

Good Friday the 13th Afternoon Eagle Buds!!! May you be blessed with Good Luck only!!!

JO, Mega-prayers in progress!

LYNNE2, glad you checked in with the the doc--follow all those orders in order to get back in the pink!

SHIRLEY, thank goodness for bowling handicapping! I'd have found bowling with an instructor very intimidating. Hunter has a long way to go before his growing boy appetite begins to level off---but then you've raised boys!

SUZAN, Thx for reporting on the "cute" visit with Belle and Shep yesterday afternoon! And, Thx to SHAR and JUDY for the mornings report!

SANDI, hope the new assignment is easier than the last and that Sam gets into High Road. Oh, boy, poor homebound teacher! I hope it pays really good money!

JUDY, I see your banking woes are over. Protecting one's privacy is such an important ongoing task.

Prayerfully thinking of Tori and ROBYN and for that matter all in need!!!

Good late afternoon to all ♥ All of the places on my left lung that have been treated in the past are clear; However, there is a new spot. It is called the Carina. It is at the bottom of the trachea where it divides into the left and right main bronchus leading to the lungs. I just copied that from my research - lol
I see my cancer dr TUES 17th and hopefully a PET scan will be ordered. This could just be inflammation - I pray. If it is cancer then a direct hit with radiation would be the procedure to remove it. I was disappointed but it could have been much worst news.

Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers.... Love you all ♥

Jo, I have been waiting for your update. I'm sorry that the news isn't 100% definitive about what we've all been praying for - that you are cancer free. So now the prayer is that the spot is inflammation that can be reduced - I'm on it!!

Lynne2, glad your diagnosis is bronchitis and not pneumonia. I look forward to some loopy codeine posts!

Judy, glad you got the online banking all set up without any glitches and have gotten your stolen money back so quickly.

Had a quiet day with my 3 girls. Janey definitely isn't making it easy for Bella and Jenni to love her. Every time the 3 are outside together in the yard and I remove Janey's leash, she starts chasing the littles. She seems to have no intention of picking them up in her mouth (which she easily could) or biting them. But she crowds them or she watches them until they're about 6 feet away and then rushes over to them. I think she will have to stay on a leash when all 3 are outside - even with her plastic muzzle on, I'm afraid she might step on one of them and injure them. In the house is better but I still have to keep a careful eye on her when the littles aren't gated in the sunroom.

Today's milestone with Janey was that she wagged her tail. Greyhounds don't know to be happy when they see people; they're just used to people being "all business."

One eagle just landed.

Time to fix food for people and pets.

Goodorming my eagle friends. Janey woke up and stood at the bedroom door at 5:30am this morning - normally the littles get up first. I figured that meant she had to go outside and a greyhound accident would be a LOT bigger puddle to clean than a dachshund pee, so I was up super early to start my Saturday.

1 eagle in the nest right now.

Good morning to all ♥ From the looks of comments I think everyone blew away thru the night! I am watching our nest and the wind is making it dance back and forth - scary!
Hopefully all of you will keep an eye on it today as the winds continue. Last year on yesterday's date we did have snow!

Relaxing today as always - lol.

ALMOST TIME FOR OUR CAM TOUR

SURE IS WINDY OUT THERE

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

The nest is MT, but IMNXTC every time I see it and our new view. The wind is still strong there, but has subsided here so I hope our good weather is about to spread it's way eastward. Wind is far and away the most disconcerting weather phenomenon for me. I have to turn the sound way down as even the sound of it drives me a little batty---battier!

Oh, here goes the show! First time I've gotten in on the camera tour! Wonderful! Belle and Shep have a spectacular view of the beautiful surrounding countryside, don't they?

Mema Jo said...

HOPE ALL WHO SAW THE TOUR ENJOYED IT!

Hi, JO! I've been thinking of you and praying that the new spot turns out to be of little concern. So thankful all the "old" spots have responded to treatment! Yeah!

SANDI, what time does our beautiful greythound go out for her last nature call at night? When I have Malcolm here I must take him out at 10 or 10:30 so he'll last til' Miss Penny decides to surface for the day. Her last outing of the day is at 7pm. He's a little more than twice her size and I wonder if that has something to do with it. By the time I'm out with him I'm in jammies, slippers and robe and hoping I don't run into a neighbor!

Kay said...

So sorry to hear that Tori and ROBYN are back on that horrible roller coaster again. Mega prayers on their behalf.

Sandi said...

Hi all! Played tennis this morning at 9am (indoors). Goiod fun. When I got home and walked up the stairs from the foyer, Miss Janey was waiting at the top and, as soon as she saw it was me, I got a BIG tail wag of welcome!

Janey's adoption contract arrived in the mail today with her new purple collar and leash (no more collar that reads "Adopt Me"). In the envelope was a stuffed toy that Gail sent for Janey - one of those long skinny ones with no stuffing inside but 2 squeakers. When I squeaked it, Janey's ears really perked up. Then I tossed it across the room. Janey pranced after it, picked it up, carried it back to her bed, and then made it squeak! We repeated this several times. Another first - retrieving a toy and squeaking it.

Kay, since our 2 doxies never let us know when they have to go outside, we're used to taking them out about every 3-4 hours throughout the day. Their last trip is at 10pm. But Janey only pees first thing in the morning at 5:30-6am, then again around 1-1:30pm, and then again around 8-8:30pm. If we take her out again at 10pm with the littles, she just stands there and does nothing. Maybe it will change but that's her routine for now - just 3 times a day. She takes care of her other business on the first and last trips of the day. Last night, her final trip outside was closer to 7pm so I was a little concerned when she got up at 5:30am that she had to go out. It's entirely possible that she would have laid back down if I hadn't gotten up, but I'd rather get up early than break the perfect streak she has going of no accidents in the house.

Glo, speaking of dog bathroom habits, how is Patches doing with going to the bathroom on the fake grass on your deck?

Working on laundry today and I definitely see a nap in my near future. I'll save the upstairs cleaning for tomorrow since tennis was my big exercise of the day today.

Sunny but windy and chilly here today - the trees still have some leaves but they're getting close to being bare.

Later! Have a greyt day!

Good evening all!

Daisy went with me to my class today...on Saturdays that we actually go to the facility, we bring our dogs so we can teach them things that we will be teaching other dogs in the future. EPIC FAIL. That crazy hound paid attention to everyone but me!!! Hopefully here at home without so many distractions we can perfect our exercises in one month.... HA!

Cough doing better thanks to the cough medicine. No notable side effects from the Codine at all. She said there wasn't much in each does but it's enough to stop that cough and allow me a peaceful night's sleep!

Sandi, I wouldn't even give it a second thought that Janey doesn't go to the bathroom late at night. That would be just 10 hours between night and morning and that's very reasonable. Sometimes Daisy doesn't want to go out for bedtime walk at all and she will go from after dinner 6ish til 8 the next morning. And if were not for Puddles waking up at 8ish, Daisy might just sleep til noon before wanting to go out!

Lynne, sorry that Daisy wasn't such a good student - surely everyone in the class who are becoming dog behaviorists knows that's not a reflection on you! :) Would Puddles be a better student? Have things been worked out for the pigs to have their own area separate from the horses? Are any horses boarding there yet? Hope the meds continue working for you and your coughing really subsides.

Both eagles have left the nest and returned, one with a large stick that is leaning against the stump. Lots of stick moving this morning so far.

Prayers continue for Tori. Jo, is she already on the transplant list and waiting for a donor or does she have to qualify to get back on the list?

I don't know if this is true of cats but dogs are experts at waking their people up, getting fed, and then falling right back to sleep. Both doxies are buried under their blankets with the heating pads on in their beds and Janey is sprawled on her downstairs bed asleep.

One eagle still in the nest as I post, really working hard to move large sticks to build the rails.

Have agreyt day all.

Fell into bed at 1:30 AM totally exhausted! Laurel spent the night and then when we headed to church she headed home.

Dessert auction was a success! Came home, sat down in my chair and have not moved!!!

Jack is now preparing grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. Bless him!

I now have Zach notes taped all over the house. The best one is on my bathroom mirror. It says, "Stàff must wash hands before returning to work!" It is spelled correctly, though his hand writing is atrocious! Typical!

Lolly, and you thought Joseph's interest in the band was primarily playing the trombone! Well good for Joseph! I'm sure he just LOVES that his friend took the photo in order to rat him out to his mom!

I took the day off today for a monthly treatment that I get for my face, but got a call that Mary (who does the treatment) had to take today off b/c her mom is in the hospital. I already have a sub so there's no point in going in, right?

I wasn't given a new assignment yesterday. Our school district, in their infinite wisdom, eliminated librarians in middle schools about 5 years ago. Only elementary and high schools have them now. So you can imagine the shape that our book collection is in after 5 years of neglect. A young lady on the staff who isn't a classroom teacher (she is in charge of a program at school called Response to Intervention or RTI for short, which is a remedial program for our lower performing math and reading students) offered to get the library back in shape and set up a regular schedule for students to check out books again via their ELA classes. But she needed help with getting all of the books on the shelves back in order. So I helped her with that yesterday, and also helped the special ed. coordinator with getting the necessary paperwork together on Sam to take to a hearing to determine if he will get into High Road School.

Both eagles in the nest when I opened the live cam. Working on sticks.

Have agreyt day all.

Hi all. Have been working outside spreading pine needles on the wooded lot. Many people here don't have lawns with grass and pay $9 per bale for pine needles at the nursery centers nearby. While walking Janey over the weekend, I saw a guy raking pine needles from his driveway and lawn and putting them into yard waste bags - he was just down for the weekend. Sunday night when I walked Janey, I counted 20 bags sitting out by the road for pick-up. So yesterday morning, Denny picked 'em up and brought 'em home! Each bag was about the equivalent of a bale of pine needles so about $180 worth of free pine needles!! Of course, these had some pine cones mixed in that I had to pick up but well worth it!

Janey was outside with me. Her idea of helping was to burrow into the piles of pine needles when I dumped the bags and then roll in them. She also helped by periodically taking off and running laps around the yard at about 30mph (not top speed but it's not as big a track as she's used to), kicking up pine needles in her wake. Wish I had my phone outside so I could have gotten a video! It brings me such joy to see her doing normal dog things!

Suzan, thanks for the reminder about Hoda's special day. I did wish her happy birthday on Facebook but will also do it here in case she pops on for a visit today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR HODA!!!

Jo, I'm sending positive energy your way that you get good news from your scan!

Good morning!

I am shocked about no librarian at the middle school. Since Laurel, 6th grade reading teacher, started the Book Whisperer" curriculum at her school reading scores have shot up! The librarian reports that book circulation has shot up as well. Students at their school are reading!!!

A few years agoLaurel's principal decided to have a reading teacher. It proved so successful that all middle schools in Denton have reading teachers.

Sandi, I think working in the library would be fun! Hope you enjoy it!

We had storms over night. We received over an inch of rain and a lot of branches down. We were under a tornado watch, but slept through it. Apparently there is damage north of us. Will learn more as the day goes on.

Jack installed our new shower heads and really like them. They are meant to restrict water flow but come out powerful! The one in our shower just looked bad, lost its shine. The one in the front shower poured out too much water. Yikes! Years ago, when Laurel was a teenager she had difficulty shampooing her hair with the water restrictive shower head. Jack removed "something" and the water poured out! Great shower, everyone loved it but it sure emptied the water heater fast. Lol. No more! It just had not been replaced as we seldom had anyone showering. However, with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming we thought of replacing them!

Need to get out and clean off the patio and drive. Lots of leaves to be blown!

No, I am NOT feeling better. Wanna know why? I'm not resting. HA! I TRY, but there is just so much to do! So my cough persists, but I still have totally clear mucous which is a good thing. Why am I such a hard head?

Jo, praying for inflammation!

Off to shower....

Good evening,

Prayers, Jo, and wishes for an inflammation.

Happy birthday, dear Hoda!

Got a call from Rus this evening. His train got evacuated this evening. They brought in the bomb squad and then evacuated the train station. By the time they decided things were okay, he had made his way via metro.

Please take care of yourself, Lynne2.

Cannot imagine not having a librarian in a middle school. I did work in a system that did not have a librarian for the elementary school. They decided that I should sent some 8th graders over to take care of the library while I taught three classes of English and ran the middle school library. This really did not work. Unsupervised, eighth graders do not get around to the boring task of shelving books. Eventually, the school found parent volunteers to take care of the library.

Maybe the library is the place for you, Sandi. Round up some students and parent volunteers to do the shelving.
