Way to go Sharon - enjoy your feather.

Good morning to all ♥
Looks like a bright sunny day

Good morning.

Thank you for the fresh thread, Steve.

Thank you Shar for the call over and congrats on the feather for your Spring bonnet.

Babes are sunbathing. Looks like some leftover breakfast.

Well, Sandi, think of it this way. It is likely THE LAST meeting with the PIA parent. Bye bye PIA parent.

Waiting for the GOT JUNK people to come and take away some items we need to get rid of. One is a chair. Need to make room for a new one arriving tomorrow.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Another feeding! There was one earlier, and Middle kept pushing in between Mom and Big to get a share of food! That time, they were eating from that awful red thing at about 4. Now whatever it is is also red and up by 11. They are getting soooo big!

Here where I live if you have any junk to throw away you just put to the curb and there is a service through the city that picks it up OR someone else will pick it up for their own that is usually what happens instead of city getting it heading to the old thread to see any comments and then FB
and one year today I became friends with Guela the new fb feather informed me pretty cool I can see what happened this day in the past

Have any of you noticed the new feature?????

My sister just saw an owl in our neighbor's chimney, heading sticking up out of it. She called me so excited she couldn't breath. Of course, she didn't have a camera.

She also saw 2 crows fighting a hawk and the hawk was injured at last sighting. Busy busy in the bird world.

Janet said...

hey all. its Tuesday. I slept for a solid 12 hours. Not sure WHAT was in that sleepy dust...but wowser, what a deep and long sleep! guess it COULDN'T be that I was recovering from the busy weekend????

JUDYE: we have bulky item pick up. You can call 1x a month and they will come and remove large things: ie stoves, mattresses, etc. And yes, usually someone else grabs it before the public works does. Public works sends out the Sherriff dept with inmates to do the work. Cheap labor I suppose.

No really big plans for the day. I am going to plant my bucket garden today. I took 2 empty 5 gal buckets from work (massage cream comes in them). They are clean and drainage holes in the bottom. I am going to put a layer of rock, then soil, and plant the cukes, watermelons and some radishes. (have a smaller container for radishes).

Our soil is so rocky that this seems an easier way. I've been growing tomatoes in a wading pool for 2 years now. :)

Those were planted yesterday, btw. I put in big boys. Can hardly wait!

Anyway, not a lot going on here Feeling rather sluggish today....

Just saw my first hummingbird today. I haven't put out the feeder, but it was visiting my chive plants.

Sandi said...

Hi all! Thanks Steve for a new thread.

Today's meeting was ugly, but I put that PIA parent in her place! It's amazing how much "damage" you can do without really raising your voice too much when you are in the right and have the ammunition to back yourself up. This woman actually emailed the superintendent of the entire school district over the weekend and accused me of not doing my job! I can be accused of many things - being a perfectionist, being too outspoken, being a neat freak - but no one can EVER say that I don't do my job, and do it well! And, if she thought I wasn't doing my job, she has my home number AND my cell number, so she could have called me instead of complaining to the superintendent! She did not leave the meeting a happy camper! Maybe she'll file another lawsuit, since her previous one just settled in January.

Sadly, this was not my last meeting with her. As a matter of fact, we have another go-round tomorrow morning at 9am. And, I still have to sit at the student's IEP meeting with her in mid-May! Good times!

But hey ... 32 more days!! And ... there is a school board meeting tonight and the director of personnel emailed me to say that my name is on the agenda to resign as a teacher and to be hired as a para at my same school for next year. So by tomorrow, it should be official!

OK, enough blabbering on my part. Time to work on IEPs. Later!

JudyEddy said...

COOL BEANS SANDI another step closer
glad you had the last say in the PIA parents issue Some people are just not happy people unless they can make someone else miserable just like them

Lolly said...

Wow, Sandi, your wishes are coming true! I do hope next year will be what you hope for! Before I got my teaching job, I substituted. It made me very frustrated when teachers were not doing their Jobs! If I was going from teaching to para, I think it would be frustrating for me. However, since it is at the end of your career guess you can shrug off the frustrations.

MRI is behind me. Nice to lie still for a while! 😜 Then I went shopping. I have two new travel outfits and a new pair of shoes. Need new comfortable shoes for a lot of walking.

Presently 56, our high for the day! Hard to believe. No storms, but cloudy and drizzly all day.

Just finished our walking and watched to lazy eaglets while walking. Nothing like stretching your leg out over a dead fish! Maybe he is saying "This one is mine!"😜

Judie said...

Visit before heading to the scullery.

Sandi, so wish you did not have to get through these aggravations. However, your positive attitude is a great source of strength -- as well as knowing you are almost not going to be a teacher in 32 days.

Margy, if you stop by, Nebraska Kestrels have chicks (looks like three this year).

JudyEddy said...

Back from gym

I emptied my rain gauge 1 1/2"
so far maybe more looks really gloomy out This is the storm that rocked TX LOLLY but we aren't as bad more coming across the gulf

Hard to believe its 68° and sunny at the nest
we are rain cooled 79° more late storms and tomorrow also
Gonna go find something to watch

NEWS on OZZIE

""After almost 6 weeks at CROW, Ozzie’s condition continues to improve. During a radiograph this morning, Dr. Barron, hospital director, said that Ozzie is healing very, very nicely and his fractured bones are beginning to come together.
He will be moved to a small flight cage today where he will be able to take short flights and build his strength and stretch his wings. No release date has been scheduled and Ozzie is expected to be at CROW for at least another month.
Other signs of progress include:
* Excellent appetite and gaining weight
* Comfortable and moving well
* No longer has wing droop
Thanks for your support. We will continue to keep you posted.

Good evening and almost goodnight

My afternoon company was very pleasant - Daughter helped me clean out a china cabinet - lots of items
never used. Then hubby and I went
out to eat - we get the best open
faced roast beef sandwich with fries covered with the best gravy. I usually crave this once a month.

Sandi - You may as well go out with a bang and outsmart your PIA parent. It is a shame that her child is the one who will suffer.

The air tonight is really chilly.

The normal shows were on - Now it is almost time to see those empty streets in Baltimore.

wild and wacky Wednesday good morning feeling rested, refreshed and ready to roar! lol.

work today. just 3 days this week. busy weekend ahead if the weather people are correct and it will be nice...

planted my container garden yesterday. finished planting my portuloca. I have reduced the # of plants this year as we have 3 camping trips planned.

even thought they are short trips, plants will need care.

hoping everyone has a wonderful day. holding you close in heart and thought as we allcontinue to hope for peace and sanity in this insane world in which we reside....

grannyblt said...

Good morning all. The nest looks sunny and bright. Eaglets snoozing and ducks has moved to the 7 o'clock area, as Judy said. Cam freezes o me today.

Hoping Sandi has a better than expected meeting with pia parent.

Hoping more of our posters check in, things have been sort of slow around here. I guess when the kids are closer to fledge time things will pick up.

Keeping all of us in good thoughts.

Judie said...

Good morning.

Sunshine and a bright blue sky just outside the window. Looks pretty.

Critters are over are increasing their families. Three little cubs sleeping late, Barred owl has an owlet, Barn owl has owlets, Kestrel has Kestrelettes, Decorah has three eaglets, Berry has two Branchettes, and we have two eaglets basking in the dappled sunshine.

May take my coffee back to the pillows. That way if I fall down asleep I won't hurt myself.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

A very laid back and peaceful scene at the nest. One eaglet enjoying some shade and one plotzed out in the sun with their toy between them!

KKAY TO JUDY, thanks for your concern--I was busy with company for a few days and I'm Aok!

JUDIE, thanks for the nice summary of our critter friends!

SANDI, you hit the nail on the head with "the parent is a big part of the child's problem. Often looking for someone to blame for the pain they must endure due to having borne a needy child, I think. Teachers, counselors, therapists can help, but they can't "fix" a kid. Bless you, dear girl, for the work you do!

Love reading about the many gardening efforts, the cleaning of china cabinets, shopping trips... What a diverse and interesting group of people my beloved Eagle Buds are!

Prayers especially for JO & that LOLLY's MRI will solve the mystery & for all in need!

Good morning everyone. I could never be a teacher in today's society. What a tough and often thankless job, and yet I do know there are the times when a student or even a parent reminds you why you have chosen and deep inside love what you do. Prayers for MeMa Jo and Lolly. also for unspoken requests and needs my memory may have forgotten. Gorgeous weather here all week. Patches feeling much better. We are spending lots of time outside just enjoying life and each other. hagd everyone.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Hearing my blue jay friends out back hollering. I guess there weren't enough peanuts this morning.

I did get my hummingbird feeder up yesterday, and it quickly had a visitor.

I see our two eaglets sitting there in the sunshine. The remains of the stuffed duck lies between them. And there is a branch with green leaves decorating the space.

stronghunter said...

Big shake at the nest. Something went flying through the air--feathers?

Lazy wingersizing. Flapping while lying down. Interesting.

Sounds like things are going very well for Glo and her fur kids. So nice that you're having good weather.

Wondering if Judie is snoozing now?

So very nice Kay is back with us.

I like your idea of planting a container garden, Janet. I have been thinking it would be nice to try planting a few things in containers.

Mema Jo said...

Good Wednesday morning to all ♥

Beautiful day - I have the doors open and am enjoying the breeze coming thru the house.

Lynne I feel that once our 2 start branching and wingercising we will have more comments daily.

Janet what will the furbabies do when you go on short trips? Are they going with you?

Mema Jo said...

Glo - the famous Green Balls of yarn - Your video of Patches playing with
her toys was a very precious sight! I can understand your happiness with that little gal.

NatureNut said...

Happy lovely Wednesday for everyone!
Read all the comments last night, but was too late to get on here.
Yesterday at the Park, I was in my chair at 'puter counter and an osprey flew by the side window carrying a branch at least 4' long!!! He went down to River, but couldn't see which platform. Too many leaves!!! I tried to make a comment on the Ustream osprey cam yesterday and it said, "You are not allowed to post a URL!!" Whatever---must be big brother! What happened was that Dad O came in w/a nice cleaned fish and Mom got up off eggs and played tug of war w/him. She won and flew away! He was eggsitter.
Took leaf covered pics of eagle nest in PM and got some bkird parts showing through. Was a little surprising. Will try to get them in Nook ASAP.

Saw a male hummer last evening, but of course camera inside! Glad they are back for everyone.

Good Health Prayers for Jo, Lolly and everyone.

Sandi, stay strong~~~you have done nothing but good work all these years~~~dismiss the PIAs from your mind.

Have to mention a picture I saw on AOL news about a boy in Baltimore. It showed the Police lineup w/shields at edge of street and young boy was walking past w/4 bottles of water, holding one out towards the officers. There is still some good in the world.

Judie said...

Good afternoon.

Not snoozing but did doze for a few.

Waiting for delivery of a new recliner for the guest room. Uh, well, yes, I wore the old chair to shreds. Literally. The chair was near 80 years and not worth the cost of re-upholstery.

Meanwhile, preparing ribs for bbq and some slaw.

No hummingbirds here. Must find a place to put the feeder. Old hanger lost when windows were replaced.

Almost all my flowers and herbs are in containers now. Out on the patio so easy to water and snip what I need.

Loretta? How are your kitties? I think I would certainly be startled if I saw an osprey flying past. So awesome.

Okay, off to do stuff.

JudyEddy said...

Good morning! Just finished our walk. Watched a poop shoot and both parents fly in. One had a small snack for the eaglets. Never did see what as it was in the shadows.

Dr has not called but got the report on line. Love technology! No tear in the shoulder, some degenerative arthritis. Recommend ice, heat, and stretching. Do stretching before, during, and after walking, so now sitting here with ice pack. If this does not work then PT. Really going to try this routine before PT. Time will tell. Happy there is no tear, that means no surgery!

43 this morn but already up to 72. Out to play in the mud!😄

Judie, I just put my hummingbird feeders up last night...have 2 this year. One in the front yard and one in the back. Gave another to my brother for the Eburg house.

I have some herbs from last year that have come back up...chives and sage I think. Need to get some more parsley. I have them all in one big pot outside the back door.

Boy, the eldest eaglet feathers are really coming in!

What are we naming these two?????

Hi, Everyone,

Dropping by to let you know I'm still in the land of the living.
Monday night I wasn't so sure, though. Had a miserable case of intestinal upset (no throwing up, thank God!), with a fever, and my stomach was awfully iffy. Finally feel like a halfway normal human being today. Sis-in-law had it Sunday night, only worse. She's better now, too. Ken has been OK, except for a case of tennis elbow. He went to the doctor last Friday, seemed better over the weekend, and now is miserable with it again today. He has a message in to the doctor for further advice.

Jo, sorry to hear that the news could have been better from the doctor! Prayers are ongoing, as always! Love you!!!

Our kids and grandkids in TX had a dicey night too, Lolly, but came through OK. Jen & Marq sent us a pic of the area on the other side of their back fence, and it looked like Lake Michigan! They may get to go kayaking if it rains much more! Glad to hear that you & Jack & Skippi are OK.

JudyE, sorry to hear of your friends who have cancer! They're now on my prayer list!

Good to see Margy and Hoda on here! You two are missed! Hope all is well with both of you.

Need to get going. My clothes dryer is calling my name. Will try to check back later tonight.
Have a good evening, everyone!
