Thanks for the call over Margy--we've been missing you

And thanks to Steve for our new thread.

I see the nest is sunny but windy today. And the Eaglets and Ducky appear to be fine.

44 years ago today DH and I were the proud parents of a baby girl. We couldn't get over the fact that she had a head full of red hair. I'll be seeing her in a couple of weeks--can't wait,

Hope all of you have a wonderful day.

Good morning,

Thanks for the new thread, Steve.

Congrats on the feather, Margy.

Need to hurry off to my hair appointment.

A bit of confusion. I thought I had an appointment today, but when I checked my notes yesterday, I realized it was scheduled for Wednesday, so I called and rescheduled for today, but the girl put me down for Saturday, though she said Friday. Now I am to go later today. Do not try to figure it out. :)

Our little cuddle duck isn't looking so cuddly anymore. :)

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Food was just brought in and from the shaking off water on the part of the parent, I'm going to say it is fish. That and the fact that it is straight feeding without plucking.

glo said...

good afternoon everyone. Day is going very well. Patches and I are almost back to where we were when she got sick. Went for coffee and dog treats which for her means the chicken I brought over. She needs to be seeing folks more than just me and finally seems well enough to go do that. She trembles a little now in anyone else's arms but it stops fairly quick especially when the chicken comes out :-) Hope you all are having a good day and looking forward to a good weekend.

Good afternoon,

Not long until I'll be off to take Hunter to baseball practice, so I wanted to take a moment to say hello.

Adult sitting over our two gangly eaglets. The "duck" looks to be in pretty bad shape now.

It's sunny at the Sycamore Palace, and all is well. I did see some wingersizing.

Oh, children, don't venture so close to the edge there where the crib rails are not quite intact.

JudyEddy said...

Update on Ozzie was just on FB naturally heading to Angie Jordyn and I are in a few min

Hi all - longest ... work ... week ... ever! But it's over, thank goodness!!

Thanks Steve for the weekend thread.

Margy - so good to see you - you are always missed!

New appliances have been delivered - now to learn how to use the gas range and the microwave controls - yikes!

Dogwoods are opening up here!

Time to feed people and pets - later! Stay warm - it's chilly and windy outside today!!

Mema Jo said...

My 5 Dogwood are beautiful

SANDI - Wowser
Just saw your new kitchen and Wow
it is one beautiful work of art!

Judie said...

Good evening everyone.

Late in the day but thank you Steve for the weekend thread.

I see Margy stopped by. Wish she would do that more often. Nice she got a feather.

Eaglets were stretching when I checked on them.

Bone doc says no fractures in the wrist. Advised rest and the splint. Referral to a hand specialist.

Groceries purchased for the next few days. Glad because we are supposed to have a rainy weekend.

Dallas area is also being threatened with serious weather.

Sure hope Kay is having fun with Eileen tonight.

Wonder how Loretta's critters are doing?

Sandperson has asked if an early departure would be okay. I agreed so satchel is being packed.

Headed across the hall to watch some tv -- probably through my closed eyelids.

Restful sleep for all.

stronghunter said...

I have a pink dogwood in front and a white one in back. They are beautiful now.

Hoping my Japanese maples are going to be okay. The leaves have started sprouting from the bottom up, so the bottom parts have fully-formed leaves while the top parts are still mostly bare. Some branches look dead, but others look fine. I think I got these trees a couple of years ago now, so they're still pretty small. There are tiny leaves sprouting near the tops, but not many.

I have had bad luck with the trees in front, and these were expensive. I do hope they will be okay.

stronghunter said...

Beautiful kitchen, Sandi.

Sandperson has been here, so I will say good night. See you tomorrow.

Goodnight to all ♥

Lolly said...

Thank you, Jo! Nice to get on and see you thought of us! Rapid, powerful storm tbut we all are fine. We have a job of cleaning up the yard tomorrow. Lots of leaves, twigs and branches down on the yard. It moved through fast. HEAVY rain and wind up to 90! A half inch of rain In a matter of minutes. First it got so dark and then pow, it was on us. I hurried around the house closing windows as rain was coming in. Jack had gone into town to get pizza. He said he sat at the drive through with hail coming down! Sharon and Danwere in Fort Worth. She texted me that they were hunkered down in the hallway of the alumni center at TCU.

On the other hand, Denton has had rain rain rain!! Streets have been flooded. Will be interesting to see
lake level reports!

Heading to bed now!

Night all! SED

Goodorming my eagle friends.

Thinking of Lynn today, and sending prayers and positive energy to Carolyn and Christie.

Jo, prayers continue for you.

Busy, busy weekend with lots of work to do, very little time to relax and no tennis. Property owners meeting at 10am this morning, then cleaning the upstairs, laundry, grocery shopping, and 2 IEPs to work on (4 more IEPs and I will be forever finished writing them!!)

Have agreat day all.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Planning to get together with Val and Julie today, probably going to Colonial Beach unless it starts raining.

Will check the nest.

Have a good day, everyone.

Thinking of Lynn/Hedgie.

grannyblt said...

Good morning all. I see parent feeding youngster what looks like a fish.

Thanks for birthday wishes for my daughter yesterday, and to answer your question Jo, yes, she still has red hair. It shows up occasionally in the family. Her 3 children show no sign of the trait, however.

Slowly warming up here, but it sure has been a cold spring.

Also thinking of Hedgie today.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Janet said...

good Saturday morning to all. whew is all I can say.

so dax was neutered yesterday. I had PLANNED to have him to sleep in his kennel, in the bedroom of course. but there go the best laid plans again............he started crying and would not hush. the vet said he had had the anatomy of a pit bull, VERY large for someone who is only 7 lbs. (and that might have been before surgery! lol). so there is a lot of swelling and bruising cuz large outter parts being removed mean large inner parts that have to be removed I was afraid of hurting him. that and how does one sleep with a cone head?

it can be done. I slept on the floor with him for four hours last night til my body was so stiff we had to crawl in the bed. so here I am, carefully arranging his favorite blankey beside me, laying him gently on it ,,,and we slept.

so there's that. day 1 post surgery. all is well. I can sleep with a doggie cone laying on me....

lorelei is here. she spent last night and will spend tonight. Amelia has soccer tournaments all weekend. she has her livvy andso she is content!

annie and her friend vanessa are perfect house guests. currently they are running the 1/2 marathon.

I am doing the 1/2 pot of coffee marathon. !

later, everyone is coming by and I am grilling burgers. hope the weather holds..........severe weather is anticipated later today.

I hope everyone has a lovely day. things should calm down tomorrow!

((((hugs)))) to all!

Mema Jo said...

Good very cold morning to all ♥

I had turned on the heat in the bathrooms but whoa I got cold feet getting to them this morning. I am
so glad our eaglets snuggle.

No special plans this weekend
Going to wait for flower planting until Mother's day as I usually do.

Lolly thanks for your evening weather report.. I hope you finally got your pizza.

Janet - hoping your cook out warms things up!

Have a fun day, Shirley with your friends.

Lynne - I saw her picture and the shade of her red hair is my favorite.

Judy - saw your red roof on FB and it looks so good!

Good morning.

Thoughts of Lynn which include many fine memories.

Janet, hope Dax heals quickly and you both can get some sleep.

Sandi, work on those IEPs. When completed, place them on Memory Boulevard.

Overcast here. Rain coming. Hope Shirley gets to Colonial Beach. Nice area.

Lolly, very glad there is only some yard cleanup.

Think I'll do some organizing of the frig. Get tired of moving five items to get the one I need.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

Mema Jo said...

Thinking thoughts of my friend Lynn
and missing her as I have been doing for the past 3 years. Time heals but it takes your heart and memories a longer time not to feel sadness ♥

glo said...

We had a major loss when we loss Lynn. Thats because we had such a major gain when we had her. Hugs for her girls and of of those who hold memories of that lady dear to their hearts.

Lolly said...

Good afternoon! Our Hedgie! Really miss her here! Remember the time Jack took my London Fog coat to Goodwill thinking it was his old one? Lynn started searching for a new coat forme and found one! I liked myLondon Fog better, but when I put on the one I have now, I think of her. Also, one time when we were on a trip Jack was doing a bit of searching family history. Lynn jumped in and was helping us out! Love the great memories!

Yard is cleaned up and now cooling off. Yes, thankful it was only minor yard clean up. Could have been much worse. What amazes me is I was not afraid. I just ran around losing windows as the rain was blowing in. We were under a tornado watch, Ft. Worth got the tornado warning. It got so dark! I have seen it get dark with storms but not like that! It was short too as it was moving fast. But, we got a half inch of rain in minutes!

Now to clean up. Sharon and Dan will be here this afternoon. Jack is grilling steaks.

Lolly said...

Oh, and Jack did make it home with the pizza. Had one downed tree to drive around.

glo said...

For me it was a comment on every post i ever made on my blog and then I needed a VCR tape of a race I could not watch and record for a friend. It was Lynn who made that tape and sent it to me. And medical advice Heck she got me thru the shingles long distance. She was always there for so many of us. I can see why her girls miss her so.

I still have a couple of emails from our Hedgie. She was always so friendly even to lurkers like me.

Judie said...

Sheesh, Lolly. Not scared? I would have been scared if I were running around "losing" windows. Did you lose many windows? Hope insurance will cover replacement dollars. lol

Finally got the refrigerator cleaned and organized. May actually be able to reach out and touch what I need without major "take out and put back."

One eaglet being fed and the other just hangin' out. Really look big and lots of pin feathers.

Putting feet up before returning to the scullery.

Sandi said...

I sure have been thinking about Lynn a lot today - I have emails from her as well, including one with her sausage gravy and biscuits recipe.

Judie, speaking of refrigerators ... when the new one was delivered, Denny emailed me at school to say the refrigerator part seemed bigger. Turns out it is, which is a good thing. But the extra refrigerator space is at the expense of freezer capacity! Not a huge deal when it's just Denny, Kevin and me. But freezer space is a big deal in the summer when we have a lot of company. We have an extra refrigerator/freezer in Denny's workroom, though not a huge one.

Oh well, it is what it is. Because of my kitchen cabinet/counter configuration, I can't go with any larger refrigerator/freezer than what I bought. And I really wanted all of the appliances to be the same brand, so we will adjust.

Off to the greocery store.

stronghunter said...

Lost windows? Did they blow the way of the garland? Thought maybe I saw something fly by while I was at the beach.

Speaking of the beach, it was not really a beach-friendly day out there. We had a very nice lunch at a Thai-French restaurant, though. It was a bit cold, and when we told the waitress, she brought us a space heater.

Meanwhile, Kathryn and Will were reporting that it was sleeting in Fredericksburg. Kathryn wondered if a baseball game had ever been called because of sleet. I suppose it has, but Hunter's games were played. There was a double-header. They won the first game and lost the second. I was informed that the team that beat them is the best in the league.

At the beach, Julie wanted to walk, even in the cold rain. Val and I ducked into the first shop we saw, and Julie followed. We admired some nice art and then headed home. Colonial Beach is pretty small as beaches go, and it is still pretty early in the season for going to the beach.

stronghunter said...

Lynn . . . yes, Glo, I think she responded to every post I wrote as well. And we had lots of discussions via email.

stronghunter said...

At the nest, I see the eagle children hanging close to parent. I don't see rain, but I am sure it is cold. They are trying to get under the adult (Belle, I think).

JudyEddy said...

WOW SHIRLEY that was some great service bringing a space heater to you all Kudos to the place

good evening all. one tired person checking in.

the girls ran their 1/2 marathon and seemed pleased. there were approx. 30,000 people to show up for the race downtown. yikes!

we had our cookout this afternoon. Chelsea and crew arrived just as things finished up cooking. they were starved, so that was good timing.

Amelia scored a goal today and her team won both games. 2 more tomorrow. they will be getting up @ 4:45 a.m. hence, lorelei is here again. just easier on everyone.

the weather has been super today. warm, about 80, mostly sunny. I think some rain will move in over night, but move out quickly as well.

Good Morning Eagle Buds

The eaglets are being feed in the basement area

JudyEddy said...

40° at the nest now and BIG sure has more dark feathers today

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends - gray and chilly here this morning. Looks sunny at the nest.

Both eaglets are scratching themselves off and on - I bet those new feathers itch coming in! Not much food that I can see in the nest ... unless I count a bedraggled stuffed duck.

Baltimore - where I was born and raised and lived most of my life. What can I say? Let's protest a needless act of violence with more needless acts of violence - shaking my head.

Cleaning and IEP writing are on my agenda for today - sounds exciting, doesn't it?

Have agreat day all.

Sandi said...

Breakfast has arrived at the nest - not sure which parent since s/he is standing on the edge of the nest. Now both parents in!

Sandi said...

Shep is picking through nestovers while Belle feeds both eaglets a fresh fish breakfast. Lots of little eagle peeps between bites.

Sandi said...

Little is interested in food but Bigger seems more interested in balancing on those wobbly legs and big feet and flapping those huge wings.

Judie said...

Good morning.

Sunshine here but last night was cold and rained for several hours.

Shirley, early for beach time but so happy you were able to just get away for a few hours to enjoy your friends.

Sandi, think of it this way. Write those last IEPs and know they are the final three.

Green garland? Well, maybe Lolly saw it fly by as she was chasing around the house to "lose" windows.

Plan to finish my coffee and read the newspaper.

Wising everyone a wonderful day.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Two flopped eaglets in the sunshine. They're flopped beside the remains of the stuffed duck.

Fresh greens in the nest this morning.

Sandi, I am wondering how it will feel to be free of those extra chores next year. And, I am wondering what is really going to happen. Are they going to ask more of you just because they know you can do it?

Huge cam shake. Gee, I hope that cam is tightly attached.

stronghunter said...

Nice to think of summertime and cookouts, Janet.

Well, we have some leftover pizza if you are interested, Judy.

Eaglets are awake now.

stronghunter said...

Oh my, yes, it was cold last night, Judie, and rainy. I am hoping the weather is good today. Kathryn and Hunter have headed out to a minor league baseball game. I think maybe it is in Manassas.

stronghunter said...

Wingersizing.

Janet said...

good morning all.

JUDIE: I like your way of thinking: just three more. the FINAL three.... only thing I can add is the old I think I can I think I can I think I can!

STRONGHUNTER: it was a lovely day. sunny and 80. kids were pleased to have food ready!

Company has departed. Weather has soured, chilly, damp and cloudy. Going to a soccer game in a bit. Packing blankets.

Also going to pack up all left overs in a cooler, take them along and have a hodge-podge dinner at Chelsea's....spaghetti or burgers and kilbasa!

maybe even the pizza.

:) cleans out my friend. Chelsea doesn't have to cook. they have been up since 4:45. first soccergame at 8 today.

Long day. Mom to the rescue!

Lorelei woke up last night crying. got her settled down. I think she's missing mama.

Will check in later. ya'll have a great day!

hugs and love

Goodorming my eagle friends - another work week looms.

Lolly, I hope you and Jack are safe and sound.

Judy, congratulations on your raise!

Shirley, about next year. I'm sure I will be asked to do things that are beyond my pay grade as a para. I'm also sure I'll do some things that I don't have to for the special ed. teachers just to help them out b/c I know how hard their jobs are. But I also know that 31 years of experience has taught me to speak up and not be taken advantage of. For example, if I'm asked to cover for a teacher who is absent, I will say sorry but no. I may carry a pay stub in my purse to remind some people how much les I'm being paid next year! :)

Jo, doctor visit today? Prayers for you today and every day!

Have agreat day all.
