Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

Much to be grateful for today:

A nice new thread thanks to STEVE.

A call over well handled by the beautifully befeathered JUDIE.

An award well earned by our Teacher of the Month, SANDI!!!!

A spectacular change of "view" in the future for LORETTA.

Quick drop ins both our LYNNEs as they begin a busy day.

Good news from LOLLY as relayed by JO.

SHIRLEY enjoying an upgrade in computers.

JUDY doing a fine nest reporting job, as usual.

Not so good news is:

No action with our third egg.

JANET's family having rough week--prayers....

Here in Central Ohio, it's a rainy Spring Day---just the kind needed to bring on those Spring and Summer flowers. Not the kind a dog enjoys, so indoor games are on the agenda.

Prayers for all in need!!!

Good morning! Yes, we are having a great trip! Skippi is at times apprehensive but really doing great. Just like at home, when we leave and is by herself she is not happy. However, better than leaving her at home alone for several days. She traveled well, sitting in my lap, sleeping. She did not try to roam! She has on her harness and when we move her from car to trailer we put the leash on her and I wrap the end securely around my hand. Do not want her being startled and bolting!

Today we are going on a very small boat tour. Google......Caddo Outback Backwater Tours! So excited!

This trip has been good for us!

Lolly said...

Have been keeping us with hatchlings and hoping we have three successful hatches!

Love to all!

Lolly said...

Oh, and apparently there are no Eagles this end of the lake, we asked. Boo hiss!

Lolly said...

Well, Dern! Our trip today was cancelled. It is very cool, misty and windy. Guess a day of leisure is at hand!

Good Thursday afternoon to everyone who has signed in today! It has been trying to rain here, so I had to get my walk in.

I didn't hear any Yaahoooing in last night or today yet, so guess we still only have two bobble heads in the nest.

Someone is keeping the refrig stocked with fish for the little ones. :)

Glad to see you back Paula. We missed you. What a nice place you have down there.

paula eagleholic said...

Thank you Candy! Good to be back. Shed some duties here at work...more time to peek in now!

Eagle in the nest keeping the babes warm. Looks sunny at the nest...or at least a little bit...can see some shadows.

stronghunter said...

Goodness. I have been on the phone with (what is that name we gave to those people who give tech support, etc.?--the ones who are so hard to understand?). Anyway, that is who I have been talking to. Geesh. Just trying to get a security plan for my new computer.

So very happy to see our Paula back. We have missed you greatly, Lady.

paula eagleholic said...

Windy at the nest too...looks like Shep on duty

wet and soggy down here in Crisfield...at least it's warm!

Sandi said...

Hi all - quick check in from school to find a new thread. No news on a 3rd hatch - at this point, maybe it would be a good thing?

Shirley, don't think I would like a touch screen on my computer. I am so anal - I'm always cleaning fingerprints and smudges off my cell phone screen and clean the monitor on my laptop regularly, even though I never touch it!

Pouring the rain here! Will check in from home this evening after my nail appt.

Later!

stronghunter said...

Ah yes, it was Peggy. I talked to Peggy1 and Peggy2. It was exasperating to say the least.

JudyEddy said...

Good afternoon eagle buds been doing some major banking went two three banks so far today DID I tell you I hate banks I don't like to use that word but I do do do do dislike them

I have two banks one with savings(just opened for IRA rollover etc) and one with checking ( have had that acct for 40 plus years) and then I had to go to Angie to deposit my cruise money that we are booking for Dec 930 full price no included 50 a day for drinks I refuse to pay that because I don't drink that much so will buy as I drink

Went to BOA where savings is to get cash since they insist on charging me 10 per certified check well when I got there to withdraw 10,000.00 7500.00 for roof they said I had to put in a order for that amt only 5,000.00 without notice well I blew up sort of They didn't tell me that last week when I went to get the money for the ac but did charge me the 10 fee for the check and told me I could just draw out cash everyone does it they said
Well I really didn't want to walk out with that much cash but in order to pay 10 fee per check (which would have been 30 for three checks) I would but with them saying needed to order the money well in the end they as a courtesy gave me a 10Th cashier check Now the issue is when I deposited that check in my checking acct they said funds aren't available till tomorrow IT IS A CERTIFIED CHECK for pete sakes which is CASH then I needed the 930 to give Angie for the booking later so that was a big to do at the bank where deposited in my checking acct Well several hours later its straightened out They sure are a PIA
and I had lunch with Angie and went to by Barbie invitations just to find out Walmart don't have so had to go to Party City so now just doing laundry and going to gym later I am already pooped LOL

Still 2 babies?

stronghunter said...

Haven't heard anything about a third hatching yet, Sharon.

Congratulations on your teaching honor, Sandi. Well-deserved!

stronghunter said...

Finally figured out how to get two windows in IE. Now, if I can remember what I did.

Ultimate coolness a 14-year-old guy can manage: Playing rock music on the car radio with the window open as you hold onto the car roof---while your grandma drives the car. ;)

carolinabeachmom said...

Well I am just checking back in, and I see that everything is still the same. I guess it is time to get the hammer out! :)

Glo posted pictures of she and her new dog on Facebook. They both have big wide smiles. I am so happy for her.

Paula, you will have a lot of people wanting to visit with you in the winter months! :)

Yes Sandi, congratulations on your teacher of the year honor. That is so cool.

Wow, that wind is sure blowing!

Babies and egg under flugg. One little one trying to find its way out.

stronghunter said...

Not sure why parent pulled flugg over the babies. I see one very actively trying to get out of there.

stronghunter said...

Feeding one eaglet. I do not see the egg or the other one.

Lu said...

Hi, all. Haven't been here in a long time, but have been watching the nest. I see only one eaglet moving now and being fed, under that fluff.

stronghunter said...

Almost time for me to take Hunter to baseball practice.

Good idea about taking notes, Judy. I did purchase a notebook for just that purpose. I have it handy for those times when someone wants to give me a phone number or some such thing when I'm sitting in the recliner.

More flug movement taking place. I did not see but one baby.

stronghunter said...

Hello, Lu. Welcome back!

stronghunter said...

Lu, is this your first post? Nice to see you here.

stronghunter said...

Hi all - watching 2 chicks getting fed. Both got plenty to eat. Can't even see the egg - covered with grass.

Candy, it was just teacher of the month - something we do in-house! Not teacher of the year, but thanks anyway. It IS a nice feeling to be recognized.

Time to fix food for people and pets.

Sandi said...

Hey, it's precipitating at the nest. Believe it or not, it almost looks like SNOW flakes!!

Lu said...

It's been a coupla years since I visited the blog here. I may have been commenting under another account then, in fact. Anyway, hi, all. Nice to see you're still going.

And that's good news, Sandi, seeing the two again.

Mema Jo said...

Sandi there is a video and it does look like ice/rain earlier at the nest.

Good Morning Eagle Buds.
We are having rain today. Thursday was sunny and 70°!!!
Haven't read that we have a 3rd bobblehead~~might be ok, as it would have to be a defensive Tiny.

Sandi, congrats on Teacher Award.
And Glo, congrats on getting Patches!
Our furbaby families continue to grow.
Later~~ ☺ ☺

Judie said...

Good early morning.

Rain here and nest looks damp.

Will go and get my "do" did this afternoon. Nothing else on the agenda today or this weekend.

Agree with Loretta. A third eggbert now would need to be very competitive. I am just very grateful and happy there are two we can watch grow up to fledge.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

carolinabeachmom said...

Good Friday morning Loretta and Judie and all other eagle watchers yet to get on. WE have a rainy dreary day here too today and supposedly getting colder for the weekend. Then nicer weather called for next week.

Eagle just sitting in the egg cup with fish down in the frig waiting for the little ones to wake up and get breakfast.

carolinabeachmom said...

All is quiet and peaceful on our eagle nest for now.

carolinabeachmom said...

Parent off the egg and other parent in for the exchange. It looks like three bobble heads in the nest this morning with a broken egg shell!

carolinabeachmom said...

We have a third bobble head for sure. Eaglets are being fed, with the newer one seeming to not be ready yet. :)

Judie said...

Well, I think I also see three bobble-heads.

carolinabeachmom said...

Both parents back in nest now. Some flugg was brought in and parent working on the nw side rails while the other one is feeding. Quick breakfast and then a wiggle, wiggle back down on all three babies. Now just one eagle left. Didn't hear any peeping for this am revelation of the babies. They probably aren't fully awake yet. :)

carolinabeachmom said...

Yes you do Judie. It is in celebration of your new do you are getting this afternoon!

carolinabeachmom said...

Parent needs to get that egg shell out of the nest so everyone can be comfortable.

Sandi said...

Hi all - the kids and I just watched a feeding and yes we saw that 1/2 egg shell and a 3rd chick bobbing around!!!! So, 5 days between #1 and #3 - hope this new one is a fighter!

The kids were commenting this morning about how big the nest is (my room is only about 10 feet wide so I explained that was about the diameter of the nest). I told them they should watch as these 3 babies grow and they will see how little that nest gets when all 5 are in it!

carolinabeachmom said...

Sandi I am so glad that you all got to see that we have a new eaglet. Yes, the nest will sure look small to them when the eaglets start to grow!

glo said...

gm everyone. Gosh my home is complete once again as I get things "Patched" up , and our nest is complete. I too hope little one is a scrapper. Plenty of food available to stuff the bigger ones to crop drop and then feed tiny.

Lynne2 said...

WOOO HOOOOOOOO

Now come on little one, you have to really be fiesty!

carolinabeachmom said...

Eagle off the egg cup and three heads up waiting for food. Egg is still in there. They aren't making any peeps yet. Parent is over by the fish and now feeding.

carolinabeachmom said...

Eaglets alone in nest. Must be change time.Just 3 little heads left bobbing.

WVJerry said...

Good morning Candy. I just hits look at all 3 little ones. We're being fed...now home alone.

WVJerry said...

Should be "got".

Sandi said...

3 chicks all alone in the nest!! WTH???

stronghunter said...

Good morning!!

Yes, I see three little heads bobbing there. Got a video. You can clearly see three little sets of black-rimmed eyes there.

stronghunter said...

Eggshell is being pushed around.

carolinabeachmom said...

Good morning WVJerry. Aren't they just so cute?

carolinabeachmom said...

Eaglets still alone in nest. Hey Shirley, I am about ready to come up to the nest and get that egg shell out myself. Thanks for getting a video of the trio.

Sandi said...

11 minutes alone ... I don't like this at all! Call me a worrier!

stronghunter said...

Hi Candy,

We can climb up that tree together and grab that eggshell out.

Three little bodies pressed together. I guess they are keeping one another a bit warm. Someone on OC said they could hear an adult in the attic. I hope they are that close right now.

JudyEddy said...

Good morning eagle buds 41° at the nest and all THREE are unattended

JudyEddy said...

I heard something on the cam housing

stronghunter said...

The Weather Channel says it's 44 degrees there in Shepherdstown. A bit nippy for little baby birds. I think they have worn themselves out.

WVJerry said...

One eaglet looks to a little more adventurous that the other two.

stronghunter said...

Maybe that is the oldest, Jerry.

Sandi said...

20 minutes alone! Enough already!!!

carolinabeachmom said...

I think they are huddling together to get warm and get to know one another better.

WVJerry said...

Hi Shirley - could be. I have only been able to peek in here and there lately. Just been reading and watching your videos along other's and all the nice pics on Facebook by Judy and others.

WVJerry said...

Adult back now.

stronghunter said...

Adult in. Babies covered.

carolinabeachmom said...

Parent finally back on nest and still leaving egg shell in there. :(

Sandi said...

Finally! I really should be in a classroom but couldn't leave the computer til I saw a parent covering those babies! Now I can breathe ... and go do my job! Later!

stronghunter said...

Was going to say that the parents do not need to be fishing. That is for sure.

JudyEddy said...

nice to see one back

WVJerry said...

Just curious sine I have not seen much of the early process. How will all three be fed? I would think the larger ones would be getting more food or do the parents keep the feedings even.

JudyEddy said...

headin out for breakfast

Mema Jo said...

Good Red Friday Morning to All ♥

I had a pic waiting for me on FB from Debi of a full nest !

Now the fun begins - feedings for 3

Judy the chirping last night around 10:30 could have been the hatch.
Not sure what the 'alone' time was for this morning?

stronghunter said...

I think Sandi figured about 11 minutes, Jo.

I thought I heard some kind of calling from a distance. Looks to be Belle on the nest.

stronghunter said...

Oh--Just saw Sandi posted that they were uncovered for 20 minutes, so it was at least that long.

Mema Jo said...

I doubt there were far away this am
Probably up in the attic celebrating

Now to get some good photos of all three - probably in a chow line some
time today. I am hoping that #3
is full of spunk!

Barbara said...

Parents need a rest from all that squirming around when they brood! There was some movement above, so the bobbleheads were not in any danger. Just getting aired out a little. We have seen Belle manage to feed triplets before, and there is certainly an abundance of food available. IIRC, we have only seen one chick die, and that was the year Liberty disappeared and the intruder wouldn't allow any fishing to take place.

Mema Jo said...

Jerry
Hopefully both adults will tend to the feedings. With 3 peeps the strategy done before is to fill up the crop on #1 and then tend to the other 2. #1 has 5 days of age over the #3. We may see some pecking!
Shep and Belle will do a good job I'm sure.

Happy Happy Happy

Some frantic eagle calls from outside the nest. Eagle in the nest is calm.

stronghunter said...

Chirps.

Human voices.

stronghunter said...

Clunks.

Eagle is calm.

Mema Jo said...

Thanks Shirley ♥

WVJerry said...

Hi Jo. Thanks. I was just curious how feeding would be handled. One thing is for sure...the fishing has been pretty good.

stronghunter said...

I am still hearing voices. Anyone else?

stronghunter said...

Must be someone very near the nest. Belle is listening, but doesn't seem agitated.

stronghunter said...

Probably the farmer or someone from NCTC.

paula eagleholic said...

LOOKS LIKE SHEP JUST BROUGHT ANOTHER FISH

stronghunter said...

Facebook down for maintenance.

WVJerry said...

Is that another fish or a rabbit?

paula eagleholic said...

OMG too funny...poop shoot onto the fresh fish!

stronghunter said...

Babies uncovered. Both parents there.

Feeding.

stronghunter said...

Eggshell still there.

paula eagleholic said...

I see all three now....egg shell still in the nest

Mema Jo said...

Watching the feeding

stronghunter said...

Hi, Paula. Isn't it nice to see three little ones doing so well?

stronghunter said...

I am now hearing a broadcast about raptors--Minnesota Raptor Center, I think. Must be coming through the OC.

paula eagleholic said...

It sure is Shirley :)

Guess the little one hatched overnight :)

stronghunter said...

Shep in. Moving flug.

Something is squealing.

stronghunter said...

And there are clunks, but both eagles are in the nest.

stronghunter said...

Poof Shep. I think some of what I was hearing was coming from YouTube. Seems I had a window open there.

stronghunter said...

Must get something done. BBL.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Well, I am so thrilled that I was wrong about the 3rd egg. Three babies! Glo, I will join you in worrying about the tiny one getting enough to eat, although the food is not scarce for sure.

Mema Jo said...

These little ones seems to be getting feedings on the hour every hour...

Mema Jo said...

I didn't see #3 on the left get any food this time

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

A glorious morning it is. with 3 dear chicks now vying for attention and food. Belle, Shep and eagles in other nests have proven to me that tending to three---even an occasional four---is doable. One meal a certain chick seems to get the lions share, but next meal another one gets a craw full. An amazing process as the adults intuitively know what each of their brood needs!

Kay said...

Yep, SHIRLEY, I think you were getting those voices from another source. I could not hear them.

Kay said...

CANDY n' SHIRLEY, don't go for that eggshell--it will be a good calcium source for Belle or Shep before long.

Wow, what a nest full of food! The Potomac must be teeming with fish right now.
