Janet said...

happy birthday LYDIA! mine is tomorrow, so I shall share my feather with you if you like!

yesterday was another overcast day. blustery. could tell the cold air was on the way.

We got the groceries and then went out to an early bday dinner with Chelsea and crew. Lorelei finally invited me to play on her own accord!!! I was delighted.

much laughter. much fun. much love.

HODA: so sorry you are snowed in. yikes. I assume they run snow plows on the streets. do they get more snow on your car? I remember living in maine that was sometimes an issue. and we had to change our parking patterns in sept thru may. I forget now, but for part of the year we had to parallel park and for part of it regular park.

starting back with school today. I have some errands to run. tom's last day off.

everyone have a lovely day!

Hoda said...

All is good
Happy Birthday LYDIA
Snow on car not fr plough
Off to remove more snow
Honestly!
Yes they plough... Highways and main roads first then residential areas.
They do a good job.

Good morning to all !

Congrats on the feather Janet - day early for your b-day.

It is about 32° out there with all
the wind at 9 mph feels like 22°

Thank you Steve for the fresh new Monday thread

Headed for my cup of coffee. BBL

Morning Hoda - once you clean off your car where are you going. How far is it to your eye doctor?

I do need to read comments on earlier thread.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR

NEWEST EAGLET MOMSTER, LYDIA

ENJOY YOUR DAY AND HAVE A GREAT

YEAR AHEAD

Hoda said...

Good Morning JO
Removing snow off of car does not necessarily mean I am going anywhere! It just means I am removing it. Weight of more snow a problem for little car and me.
I actually shoveled behind the car too! The exhaust needs somewhere to go if I was to start it.
I phoned the optometrist's office to give them a heads up.
Unless the road crew gets here by nine ( two more hours) there is no way I am making a ten o'clock appointment!
I presume that they would have made park spots uptown too by the time they get here.

Having my tea and listening to Tibetan music.
Started a laundry.
I have already washed every single piece of winter clothing I own. Too early to start on summer clothes I would rather think.
Enjoy the day all.
This is my fifth day in!!!

Hoda said...

It is less than five minutes by car to get to the optometrist from here.
With snow it is just dangerous to drive on hills...
Ice makes it an extra challenge.

grannyblt said...

Good morning eagle buddies.

We finally got snow last night, but only enough to look white outside, maybe an inch. More forecast tomorrow. Last year at this time we had over a foot on the ground, so we've lucked out so far. Hoda, the bad driving conditions are what I dislike about winter. I hope you stay on the side of caution today.

Happy Birthday to Lydia.

Hope everyone has a happy Monday.

A quick good morning! Heading to Denton to boy sit! Have a great day!

Good Morning, Eagle Buds!!!

Thanks for the spanking new thread, STEVE and JANET, don't you look purty with that beautiful feather in your cap?

♫♪♪♫ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR LYDIA, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, AND MANY MORE ♪♪♪♫

No trip to the pool for me today--Penny has been outside 4 times since 7:45, has no energy, has only eaten a wee bit. I'm watching closely and will call the Vet if it continues. She's drinking more water than usual. Yesterday she picked some little orange tidbit up off the driveway and had it down her gullet before I could intervene. Candy? A pill? So far no accidents inside.

My d.i.l. is sending me her dad's Rollator and a couple of canes. I've used a spare Rollator Keith kept at Lee's house in NJ and found it very useful for walking in parks, gardens and museums. My hips so often "tie up" when I try to walk long distances. Anyway, the kids are getting me set for the inevitable aging woes I'll encounter in the next 20 years!☺

HODA, glad you're being sensible when it comes to that snow and ice! We're expecting 3-4 inches overnight and into tomorrow. I knew Old Man Winter was lurking! Ugh!

Love and prayers for all in need and for our Texas travelers!

Mema Jo said...

I am off to get my Power Port flushed

Sounds like a car wash - right? lol

Judie said...

Good afternoon.

Thank you Steve for the fresh new Monday thread. Hope you had a wonderful holiday.

Congratulations Janet on the new feather for the first day of back-to-school work. Glad you enjoyed your pre-birthday dinner.

Hoda, your energy is amazing. Was your optometrist as strong and agile getting to the office? Did you have to reschedule?

Jo, I also enjoyed Downton Abbey last night.

Kay, hope Penny is okay. So scary when a pet's behavior changes and we don't know why. As for the Rollator, we have two. Very convenient. My eagle cane also is a handy helper.

Still sunny. Still very windy. So windy, in fact, that the neighbor's Christmas tree placed at the curb is now up against their garage door. Amazing to watch. Almost ghostly to watch that tree roll backwards all by itself.

BBL

Hoda said...

Yes JUDIE, Optometrist got in alright. He understands about snow day. Many cancellations. If it clears in the afternoon he might be able to see me or else tomorrow or Wednesday...
Tomorrow we are expecting an ice storm...
Play it by ear and stay cool with it all...

Happy Port cleaning JO. Stay safe on the roads...is it windy your way?

KAY the Rollator is awesome. Many here have them and they have some very fancy models...chairs and carts for carry ons and generally a delight to watch seniors mobile and agile...I see one in my future too...

Mema Jo said...

I've returned all flushed and cleaned out! lol Also had blood work and that was A-ok. The 20th is my CT and radiation dr appointment.
Two days after that I'll see the cancer dr.
Thanks for your prayers and positive thoughts that the cancer is
gone
I try not to think about it and will accept what it is but I really hope it is gone! ♥

Sandi said...

Hi all - checking in from school to find a new thread. Thanks Steve and thanks Judy for the call over!

Kay, I hope Penny's setback is just temporary and not too serious. had to Google "Rollator." I have seen folks using them but didn't know what they were called.

Later!

Judie said...

Need some advice, please and thank you.

Girls are not ready to have pictures but did find pictures online that are very close.

So, how do I add a blog to my profile and add the pictures I have saved to my computer?

Just thought someone might like to see.

Kay said...

Penny's symptoms seem to have subsided and her appetite is back. Will see what happens now that her tummy is full. She's sleeping more than usual and I guess that's a good thing.

Yep, the Rollator that will be coming in from MN has all the bells and whistles, brakes, seat, carrying bin... The one in NJ is more basic---a real good walker on wheels, but it also has a seat and bin. I'm tickled pink and I know Keith would love knowing I'm the recipient for we were good friends as well as sharing kids and grandkids. Stan had an Eagle Cane and when he died I gave it to a good friend of the family. Little did I know that Eagles were in my future or I'd have hung on to it instead of the old fashioned wooden one I kept for emergencies. I used it and a regular walker a lot during the back surgery time a couple of years ago. I'm not looking forward to the time when I'll need these appliances full time, but I'll be well equipped for that possibility!

Oh, JO, you know you have our prayers and positive thoughts. We love you so!!!

JUDIE, I can't wait for JUDY or PAULA or SANDI or someone to tell you how to create that blog. I want to see those girls or their lookalikes!

Mema Jo said...

It is very windy and cold.
Expecting snow tomorrow... :(

Hoda said...

JUDIE: I think to form a blog, click on your name, not avatar. Click on Blogger, top left hand corner. It will give you an option to form a blog and then follow what they say.
Looking forward to the pictures. I hope this works for you...

Sooooooo continuing prayers JO. I do not write about it every night, yet I do so so so pray that it is gone indeed. We are with you what ever comes. Somehow we will all know God's Grace from this whole experience. You are a leader and a mentor and I send Love and Light your way my dear friend. Thank you for the update...

Judie said...

Thank you Hoda BUT as I am technology challenged, I was not successful. Will try again sometime. Thank you, again.

Judie said...

Okay, when I click on the blogger part, and click on New Blog, I am asked to fill in two lines. The first I named My Blog. Then there is a second line and that is where I am being rejected. Do not know what I am supposed to provide. I do not like technology.

Headed to the scullery.

Hoda said...

JUDIE on the second line just type in what their example is...I think this is what I did...they are asking for an address right?

JudyEddy said...

Hello home from work to find a fresh thread

THANKS FOR THE NEW THREAD STEVE

just got back from cell phone tower saw both on the tower got some pic of the new lady there and yep she has some dark feathers on her head
I bet there is eggs up there
I wanna climb it, I talked to a couple of guys there they are replacing the tower in May with a taller on dernit but will put the nest in the new tower I will have to bet in contact with Sue that does volunteer and that is her nest I just want to make sure the Audubon is aware of it

Sandi said...

Judie, you are almost there!!! For the address, you could use

judieinvirginia.blogspot.com or

judievajda.blogspot.com or

technologychallenged.blogspot.com

or anything else you want. It just has to end with .blogspot.com. When you type an address, you will be prompted whether or not that address is available. Then you just click the orange box that says, "Create Blog" and you should have your very own blog entitled "My Blog."

Sandi said...

Hoda, I think each blog has to have a unique address.

Janet said...

good afternoon to all. it is a sunny but chilly day. I am enjoying every moment of this sunshine! it was 21 this morning and is currently 31.

no snow, however.

it has been a busy day. we cleaned up the housethis morning, and then started on the home school.

tom and I ran errands. we are home now.

I managed to put a library book on my new kindle! :) it took a min to figure it out, but I did it.

livvy has declared an interest in reading horror-fiction. she is starring carrie by Stephen king. the other one I told her she might like was dean koontz. she has one of those books as well . we shall see.

all right, gonna goof off for a bit. later gaters.

Sandi said...

Believe it or not, technologychallenged.blogspot.com is already taken by some lady in Connecticut! :) But the other 2 addresses I suggested are available. Again, Blogger will let you know if the address you type in is already taken.

Good luck, Judie! You can do this!!

Cool LINK SUZAN

Hoda said...

Good links Suzanne. The Front St Cam would be the way I would come home. It is relatively flat there. Where I live is a steep hill. No as steep as some Nelson areas.
The Ferry link is also awesome. So is the Kootenay Pass Cam.

SANDI good instructions to JUDIE.

JUDYE your way of getting to the blog also works.

Judie said...

Okay, I am grateful for the help as it seems I have now successfully created my blog. HOWEVER, I do not seem to see a way to attach pictures of almost-look-alike cats so you all can get an impression.

Any help? I'm used to attaching items from my documents stored on the hard drive. The pictures are stored in documents.

Will read back on comments. Thanks for the help creating my blog and did use a suggestion by Janet involving Jufie (lol and tee hee hee).

Congratulations, Judie. I will see if I can backtrack and figure out how to attach pictures to a blog.

YAY on the Live cam - can't wait til tomorrow morning to start watching some eagle action!!

Janet, Carrie was my very first Stephen King novel. I was a few years older than Livvy but I was hooked immediately on King as an author - went on to read many other books written by him.

Jo, good news on the blood work - prayers continue for you for good news from the doctor later this month.

Fell asleep in the bathtub - time for bed for me! Goodnight!

stronghunter said...

Yay!! Live cam should be with us tomorrow morning.

Okay, Judie.

I can try to explain this:

1-On this blog, click on your name.

2. Click on the name of your blog.

3. Click on "new post" (upper left hand corner.

4. Click on picture that says "insert image" when you scan over it.

5. From here, I click on "choose files" and go from there. It should take you to files on your computer. Then you select the pictures you like and follow the instructions given. Just remember to save before you leave your blog. I have to experiment a bit when I get to this point because I haven't posted too many pictures recently since I do not have my own computer yet.

stronghunter said...

Hi again, I see that Sandi did better than I did. It has been a long time, and they've made changes over the years. I may print out Sandi's directions to use later.

Judie said...

Ok, this is a banner day for me.

Help with creating a blog and showing everyone pictures plus anticipation of the live cam tomorrow. Yippee!

Another good bit of news. Former student now a detective in Montgomery County, TX was promoted to major crimes so she is doing the tough stuff (homicides, etc.). She is going to be an excellent addition.

Again, thank you to Sandi and Shirley for the directions. Will try in the a.m.

Judie said...

Hi all! Home for an hour now. Poor Laurel, but the pain meds were setting in. A tooth she had a crown on cracked all the way to the gum. An infection set in and she had to have the tooth pulled. Dr said she would have to have a bone graph before getting an implant. She is very sad having a missing tooth. It is one of the back teeth and she will be fine but right now she is miserable.

You did a great job giving Judie instructions on setting up a blog. Maybe she can add pictures tomorrow!

Excited about the cam! Whoopie!

Tomorrow I start taking down decorations. It will take a few days! Also, tomorrow we get our new garage door. Yea! And, just in time too. Snow/winter mix is expected Thursday night and again Friday night. Laurel has her snow candles ready, Sandi!

I am tired. Think it is time to close my eyes! Night all!

Good morning.

Happy Birthday to our Janet and Lynne2. May you both have a wonderful day and a terrific year ahead.

Need to check out the live cam. Thank you Steve and all those who made that possible.

Lolly, sorry about Laurel's discomfort. I know how much she appreciates your help and support.

Shirley, looks as if you might escape the snow but we have about 2" here at the house.

Judie said...

Now for a really good morning greeting.

Sandi and Shirley worked their magic and I have created my first blog. The name is Bootsy and Forrest.

A picture of a snowshoe (Boots) and a lilac point(Forrest) are posted. The pictures are very similar. I think Boots and Forrest have softer/sweeter faces but then they are not being forced to pose for pictures. lol

Thank you so very much to Sandi and Shirley. (:

Janet said...

good morning to all!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNNE!!!!! May your day be as beautiful as you are and may you enjoy a love and light filled trip around the sun!

Chilly this morning, colder temps on the way. Single digits tomorrow night.

BUT the SUN is out so I'm not complaining!

And I'm excited about the live cam. Will have to turn that on shortly!

SANDI: my first Stephen King book was The Green Mile. I have read many of his books.

Livvy is not a big "reader". Even though I read to her as I did to Chels and Michael. I think her visual problem had something to do with it???? I don't know. Or maybe too much else to entertain her ??? Either way, part of my endeavor here has been to find something she enjoys reading. There are of course some things you need to read to experience, such as To Kill A Mockingbird...great fodder for discussions.

She's been reading books on her tablet. She's discovered that that style of writing appeals to her so she is (finally) excited about reading a book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT in an of itself is a major accomplishment.

I need toget moving and feed the critters. This is supposed to be the warmest day of the next couple. 40 today. I'll take it with that lovely dose of sunshine.

JUDIE: I can hardly wait to see what blog name you came up with lol. You are most creative!!!!!

It took me a minute to figure out that blogger site as well. Keep at it gal!

Everyone, have alovely day. Be safe, stay warm and I will check in later

much love and hugs to all of you and thanks for the warm wishes!

Oh, HAPPY DAY for JANET and LYNNE!!! May all your Birthday Wishes come true!!!

Judie your blog turned out so very well. Am I correct in thinking that the pictures on the blog are only ones that resembles Bootsy and Forrest. I had remembered your saying that you didn't want to scare them -- Am I wrong?

Mema Jo said...

Snow is very very fine right now - maybe it is going to stop. It is 20° and I guess we do have between 1 - 3"
Schools are closed - teachers got that extra day!
I think Lynne ordered this for her b-day celebration! lol

JUDIE - I finally read previous comments and answered my own question about your blog! lol

Lolly said...

Good morning! Getting a new garage door! They have been working close to two hours! Yea! My car gets to come inside. First order of business will be a nice bath! Lol

Yea, Judie! Looking forward to real pictures of the kitties. Forrest looks like our Misty, a very much beloved pussy cat! such a great kitty. She was born in our bedroom, one of seven, and the only one we kept. Sweetest most loving kitty ever! (Shhhh, do not tell Skippi I said that.). She was my armpit kitty, as that is where she slept every night. She also. Liked to be under the covers. When she got older we had to rig a heating pad for her to sleep on. When Annie showed up at our house she adopted her. No fuss. Have a picture of them together. Should scan it and show you.

Going to start taking down Christmas soon! About time! Also, need to call and check on Laurel.

Mema Jo said...

Lolly - sure hope that Laurel's feeling better today. Pain in the mouth is very very uncomfortable.

Lolly said...

Thank you, Jo.

Getting frustrated as the cam will only run for a very short while. Also, do not think it is very focused. When I enlarge to full screen it is not clear.????

Kay said...

Hi, Mrs, Texas and Ms. Florida!

Be aware, the nest area as well as all of WV, OH and surrounding States are in a deep freeze and experiencing snowfall right now. The forecast worsens for most of us as the snow stops soon and sub-zero temps set in for a couple of days. So, I'm thinking we can't expect great camera viewing til' the weather improves. Just MHO.

Kay said...

One of my dear neighbors just came by, heading for Kroger and offering to make purchases for me. Fortunately my pantry is full and I'm okay, but how nice of him! Jon is Julie's age and we're acquainted with each others families, very comforting to have people like that close by.

Jo? You've been quiet today. Nest watching will do that.

Soon to the scullery. Leftover chicken in some ala king sauce with veggies. Will make some biscuits (need something to sop the sauce).

Hi Suzan

Hi again all. The live cam picture looked clear on my desktop monitor at school I use IE there.

Here at home, the picture looks pixelated in the center of the nest (less so at the edges) using Firefox and Chrome. I can't get the picture to load using IE on my laptop but that's no biggie, since I never use IE aside from in school where the district requires it.

Despite the pixelation, I'm not complaining - we can see the whole nest this year and that's what matters most to me! Also, I loaded the live cam when I first got home from school and it has been running for an hour now. I can't wait to see an eagle land in the nest - I hope the snow doesn't keep them away this evening!

Judie, your kitties are beautiful - I'm certain that yours are even more lovely than the ones in the photos!

Time to fix food for people and pets and then head to the grocery store. Later!

JudyEddy said...

Must not be windy the sound seems to be working good also I love the way the sun is on the nest right now the clarity of the cam is great

Mema Jo said...

Sandi, I am using Firefox - and it
looks good. Right now the nest looks
spectacular. Not sure if our Royal couple will put their talons in the snow for a visit or not.

Today I have been watch BaoBao rolling and playing with a log in his yard full of snow. He and Mei had
a blast but thankfully they are both
tucked inside eating their 'boo.

I have sound as I was trying to get on the blog and heard Belle come in.

Well, my day did not go as planned. We had a beautiful day and I got out and planted my tulip bulbs. Following that Jack and I took down all the outside decorations. That leaves the house...maybe tomorrow.

Mema Jo said...

Lolly, they may have been shoveling the snow - you know how they tear up the floor of the nest

Lolly said...

Picture was clear while the eagles were there. Yes, love the angle! Here's to a successful year. Thrilled to see HP the very first day!!

grannyblt said...

Glad I got to see the eagles. My, but Shep barely let her get in the door. iPad not the ideal viewing method. I may have to rely on laptop..

Lolly said...

Maybe so, Jo. At first I though flugg was brought to the nest, but then it looks like they were eating. But, they did not stay long. Just long enough for important "stuff"!

Lolly said...

At first I did not have my windows side by side. Had to do something thinking on how I do that. lol Brain strain!

I have a silly question Any of you have a tablet
I have noticed that when I listen to Pandora music and then bring up a camera that the volume goes down which is a pia and then if the cam stops of I accidentally touch the screen the sound goes way up because I have adjusted it for the way it went down I really like using the tablet because of the screen capture is so quick just click the camera button on bottom So if any of you have noticed it or have a solution let me know Everyone I ask don't multi task on them like us eagle addicts If I bring up FB or the blog it doesn't affect the sound unless a video or the page has sound I am going to try it on Angie tablet this week to see if hers does it also

Some of what my father called "gruble" fell when I was driving to bowling.

Good Evening to all those ice bound!
Altho you could hardly see much snow on our street this AM, it was icy and found out about 2 roads closed on the way to Park due to accidents, so most of us had to stay home. We watched the Parking Lot on the Beltway, etc. on the TV news. Our power flickered off, but only the 'puter stayed down for a few hours.
Finally got email from coworkers who stayed home and volunteered to go in Thursday instead. (What was I thinking?~~that's the coldest day!!)
Went out awhile ago & it was actually refreshing!!! Cold, but quiet & NO wind. Hope it would stay that way. Hope we can get into Chelsea Farmhouse Office in AM. Snow real low, but slippery.
Hoda, don't drive on ice!!!
Judie, congrats on your Blogspot! Love those cats.

Dearest Jo, you know there are prayers and much love for you every day!!! It will be GONE!!!
Pleasant Feather Dreams and Good Health Prayers for ALL ;>)

Went out today and did groceries and ran errands.
Optometrist appointment too. Considerable loss of sight in my left eye. Not sure why. More tests needed so will return in two weeks. Could be macular degeneration, could be by cataract and could be retinal detachment. The latter is making me nervous...
Will just sit with prayers and faith and see where it goes from there...
I am hopping since he is not doing anything faster about retinal detachment that he does not think this is high on the list of possibilities and that he is just exploring options...
All is good.
All is always good.

Streets were manageable and the city is working really hard to remove the snow. Some banks were a foot or so higher than me...
Tonight and tomorrow it is supposed to rain and then get cold. We are in for some challenging times...
One day at a time.

I am now a member of the Municipal Library's Board of Directors. I got a letter from them today...Good volunteer opportunity and I am excited.
Grans meet tomorrow and there is some work to be done there for this winter and spring...
Many are still stuck on the highways so we will wait and see when other projects start.
Signed up to take a level two class for yoga and am pleased about that. It starts on Friday.
The following weekend I signed up for three advanced yoga sessions...

The coolest thing today is some very nice Christmas cards arrived and brought me a HUGE smile...You are awesome THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU...Will open them over the next couple of weeks as I await my eye appointment and that will be a terrific support system...

Good night and God Bless... PRAYERS

Hoda, keeping you in prayer with this eye problem. Hope they find out fast and get on it! I am amazed they could not tell today. Love my eye doctor. He is rather "odd" but highly respected, highly intelligent, and highly thorough with my yearly check ups. I go next month.

Several earthquakes today but we felt nothing. Just really curious if we really did hear it??!

I hope Lynne and Janet had a nice day today! And, wishing you both a great year ahead!

Time to head to the pillows! Night all! SED!

Hoda said...

Thank you Lolly...It is all good and I will phone and see if I can have it done sooner...he did some extensive tests today, but wants to check the thickness of the macular stuff and the retina doctor comes in every six weeks!!! good very chilly morning.

first off thank you, again, for the lovely birthday wishes. it was indeed a wonderful day. I just hung out here in the house and did as I pleased! :)

HODA: congrats!!! what an honor!!! woot! woot!

it is in the mid 20's now, winds to pick up, temps heading down to the single digits with wind chills below zero til the weekend.

gonna have a lot of unhappy peeps around here

I have the house "tucked in", animals in and we are as ready as we can be. for the windows without thermal curtains I do as my mom did, I put blankets/towels up to help keep the cold out.

I see a shooting in paris. sigh. the worst side of humanity. thinking of all those involved.....

heading to work in a bit. have a great day! light, love, WARM hugs to all!

Good morning.

Thank you for the compliments on my new blog; however, credit goes to Sandi and Shirley. Compliments on the kids are welcome and appreciated.

For those of us in iffy weather/driving conditions, please stay safe.

Hoda, staying safe is a direct request if you go skiing. Please be careful. Congratulations on your appointment to the library board. We will be sending healing thoughts regarding your eyesight.

Janet, hope the blankets work against the unusual cold weather.

Hi Loretta. Seems your area got a bit more icy stuff than we did. Side roads are also unsafe here. Take care.

Shirley, had not seen/heard the word graupel since leaving OH. Icy sparkle can be pretty in the correct light. How's the knee after bowling?

May venture out later today. Need to return library books and then go foraging.

Wishing everyone a safe and warm morning.

Hoda - Hoping you will see the Retina Specialist. I have the AMD and treatment has cleared it but I still get it checked regularly. Google Amsler grid and/or get one from your optometrist so you can check yourself out for the AGE MACULAR DEGENERATION.

Good morning,

Knee is so-so. Not planning to rush out and practice bowling today.

Frustrated with my Part D coverage. Didn't think to check on it this year, and now I find major changes. New $250 deductible and then they only pay 50% of my expensive medication. They say I shouldn't go into the doughnut hole if I buy no other medications and there is no price increase. Also, the amount I am buying now is 1/2 what I am prescribed. Think I'll call the doctor and discuss this. Really need to know that it is okay to decrease the amount I'm taking.

Hello!! Anybody home? I am sitting at my desk with the live feed up. I just realized that I have missed sitting here. I am still having hip issues with pain similar to the pain I was having preoperatively. I am praying with steady exercise that it will get better. Also my leg is about an inch longer. I am praying once all the muscles heal up and get stronger that will even out but I have a feeling I am going to have to have a lift in my shoe. I start back to work next Tuesday. I go back to the doc on Monday and they will do an x-ray to make sure all the parts are in the correct place.

Anyway, that is enough about me. How is everybdoy? I have missed you!!

I LOVE US!!!

stronghunter said...

Hi Sharon,

Do hope your parts are in the right place. Wondering how come one leg is longer than the other. Interesting.

I called doctor. Doc is out. Nurse practitioner is out. After a bit of time on hold, I got to talk to NP'S assistant. They will have answers tomorrow. Took awhile to get to the assistant. Got so lost in their voice mail system that I had to hang up twice and start over. Understand the convenience of voice mail, but I have actually gotten in my car and driven across town to this office to be able to speak with a real person.

Please excuse my ranting.

Hi all - home from school. The outside temperature here right now is 25 degrees but it feels like 5 degrees. Just got a call that schools will be opening 2 hours late tomorrow morning b/c of frigid temperatures in the forecast over night! Woohoo!!!

Hoda, have you noticed a change in your vision lately?

Am watching the nest on the live cam. I know now that I have sound b/c it is very windy at the nest today and I can hear it! Hoping to see 2 eagles soon! The picture looks very clear this afternoon.

Stay warm everyone!

Sandi said...

Jo, what a smart kitty you have - he knows a good deal when he sees one! My 2 old girls want nothing to do with being outside - out the door, squat, run back in!

Mema Jo said...

I had sent to NCTC IT the video from yesterday and at the same time I remarked about no night vision. The
IT person thought that the still cam
had night vision in the past and was going to check on it and get back to me. Today the email came and said:

Here is the scoop on the infrared light. It is installed with the camera, but doesn't appear to be functioning. This is most likely a result of the massive lightning strike that burnt up the surge protector last year. When we did cam maintenance this year, we adjusted the camera to fix the viewing angle, but at the time had no idea that the infrared light was not working.

Unfortunately, we are stuck with what we have for the current season (since the eagles are now regularly appearing), but will test the light source/camera after the season is over to correct this issue.

We apologize for the inconvenience to the eagle cam viewers.

Thank you for the update, Jo. While night light is great as a bonus, having a live view of the whole nest is something to be thankful for.

Shirley, so sorry about the meds and the Part D. All of this is just out-of-control. Hope it resolves in your favor.

Hi Shar. Sorry about your being lopsided. Pain-free, however, is a good thing.

Paula, the pics are very close. They are sisters. Surrendered after 11 years because their owner was evicted. Were transported from a shelter to the Siamese Rescue Center down near Shirley. How's Larry Studmuffin?

Sandi gets to sleep late tomorrow. Yea!

Janet, cannot imagine the low temperatures in your area. Went out foraging today and thought I was back in OH. Sorry for Kay, also.

Jo anticipates me. Chili tomorrow night with jalapeno cornbread sticks. Fish and asparagus tonight (followed by a side of Cheetos as I read a book).

Dinner time at the Berry nest.
Very windy at our nest.

Speaking of food, off to the scullery.

Hi, Everyone,

Finally able to get back here!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JANET, LYNNE2, WILL, AND SUSAN!!

Lolly, hope Laurel feels much better, very soon! Mega prayers! Yes, you can hear an earthquake! We are on sandy soil here, and you can hear the ground rumble like a train coming up the tracks.

Jo, prayers continue for you, too!
May that cancer be GONE!!!

Hoda, congratulations for being appointed to the Library Board!
Prayers being said for your eyesight. Please be very careful with all that snow and ice in your area. Remember, NO falling is allowed!

We have had a crazy couple of days. Our electricity was completely off all day today so they could replace our electric panel. The new one is completely different from the old one, which was woefully inadequate. They also had to add two grounds--one on the roof, and one to our cold water pipe in front of the house, where the main water shut-off valve is. The grounds should help protect our major appliances and electronics should there be a major surge or (God forbid!) a lightning strike. We found out that our electrical system is somewhat overloaded. Our refrigerator, washer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, 3garage wall plugs, garage door opener, and both wall plugs in the kitchen are all on the same circuit! We have to be careful for now, and will be saving $$ to upgrade ASAP (the bid is another $3,200!). At least we can be sure that if something's overtaxed, the circuit breaker will take care of it. Before, we easily could have had a house fire!!! We're thanking God that He's been protecting us! Tomorrow the City inspector comes to check everything out, and I think some contractors who work with the electricians will be patching the stucco around the new, bigger electrical panel. Then they will paint the new stucco as soon as they can, hopefully matching the paint as well as possible. Next Tuesday, our gardeners will be trimming the huge tree in the back yard so that there will be the required 3 feet of clearance around the wires coming to the house from the telephone pole on the property line. I sure am glad we are having all this done, because it will be a big concern off of our backs. The house was built in 1962, and with all our electronics and stuff, it just needed to be brought into the current century! I think we may get a break on our electric bill for upgrading, too. Gotta check that out tomorrow.

Well, I need to go get some stuff done that I couldn't do by the light of a flashlight earlier today. (Boy, you don't realize how much you take electricity for granted, until you don't have any! Yikes!)

Wishing all of you a restful night's sleep, with SED. God bless, and good night. I ♥ us!!

Lolly said...

Paula, so very sorry about John and Ajay. Sad!

Feeling so good having the house undecorated. Have tree lights on as tomorrow it comes down.

We watched Downton Abbey tonight. It was very good. Had it recorded.

Presently 23 and dropping. Coldest night this winter. Winter mix is still in the forecast. We had a fire tonight. Yea! Toasty warm.

Okay, time to close the eyes! See you tomorrow.

Goodorming my eagle friends.

12 degrees here but it feels like -2 with the wind. Some of the wind gusts last night were downright scary with all the trees we have around the house!

One of our 2 heat pumps wasn't working last night - the fan was blowing cold air, not warm - not good. called the HVAC guys who will be coming this morning. Fortunately, we have 2 gas fireplaces so we set the one on the side of the house to the thermostat setting and it turned on and off as needed during the night. This morning though, the heat pump seems to be working normally! Oh well, the HVAC guys will get it figured out!

Stay warm everyone!! I have never seen 2 dogs do their business so fast! Out and back in in less than a minute I think!

Have agreat day!

good morning all. currently it is a "toasty" 3 degrees at my nest here in west Nashville. :/ hmmmmm. but the winds have died down so that is good news.

thankfully the school districts have their stuff in one sock and canceled school for today. although, Davidson co (metro Nashville) decided @ 5 a.m. while everyone else had decided prior to bedtime last night. nothing like waiting til the last min !

perhaps they thought an oddball warm front would wisk thru Nashville alone and raise temps a bit????? ha ha

either way thankful they canceled.

another beautiful day in the neighborhood. hope everyone has a lovely day! light, love, holding each of you close in my heart and thoughts.

Good morning.

Sunshine on the snowy landscape. Really cold here.

Yes, JudyE, I remember the first experience with orange fingers. Ate Cheetos. Mom asked what happened to them. I looked innocent except the orange fingers gave me away. lol

♪♫ Happy Birthday Will and Susan ♪♫
May both enjoy a wonderful year.

Hope Hoda enjoys her skiing and that she is very cautious.

Paula, hope Larry is feeling better now. Also very sorry about John and Ajay. Yes, kids are resilient but it is difficult.

Sandi, hope the heat pumps are fixable without too much $ spent. Nice you had an alternative.

Andy, what a relief to have all that potential danger fixed. What a scary thought.

Okay, now to finish the last few drops of coffee, check on the kids, then to the scullery to make a pot of chili.

Wishing everyone a wonderful morning. Stay safe and warm.
