Well, I know eagles know what they're doing BUT was just looking at the Berry nest and adult flew off. Egg exposed. Wonder what that means?

17° now, but with wind chill it's about 17- ! A deep freeze with area schools cancelled for yet another day. Too cold for bus stop waits, walking, etc..
Not sure if the Phillips twins had a birthday yesterday or today, but I must add my best wishes to SHIRLEY's dear children!
JUDIE, do you know what the temp at the Barry nest is? Always concerning when parents leave eggs exposed, but the experts say it's usually very brief and that they never go more than a few branches away. Seems like it's time for another egg to drop there. If I remember correctly they had two last year, but only one was viable.

OMG TRAGIC so tragic in tears as i type
last night a little after midnight a man with his 5yr old in car speed going 100mph past a off duty police officer He called it in Was headed for bridge where he stopped his car on top of bridge and waited for the police while holding his 5yr old little girl He threw her in the water and she was found dead Such a tragedy I just don't understand Sometimes I just want to stop watching the news just for stuff like this

Request for prayers for baby Elliot
Val (his Mom) noticed a small lump
in the groin area - they took him to the doctor and it is a hernia. They
are coming into Frederick tomorrow to the doctor referred. Anxious to hear what will be done.
I know what they are going thru as our Michael had to have surgery during that 2nd month of birth. Thanks for prayers ♥

JO, prayers for dear baby Elliot! My eldest grandson, now 25, had surgery for a hernia when he was a couple of months old. Very hard on his mom, but he weathered it well and I pray the same for your tiny boy.
JUDY, that is a tragic story and I know how you feel about the news. In fact, I now skim the news for headlines and perhaps a paragraph or two, but find I must skip reading all the horrible details. They throw me into a funk that is too hard to climb out of. I'm not denying such things happen, but I cannot dwell on them and keep my sanity.
I see a typo in my earlier post--that should be 7°--it's bitterly cold.
PAULA, sorry about the kids, but they gave it a good try. Now you'll all have to "love" the grandkids through the transition. Hope Larry's cold is short lived!

Jo, very sorry about Baby Elliot. I'm sure he will be just fine and the hernia will be repaired. Just so worrisome for parents and family.

Prayers for the baby JO...yes parents must be worried. It is understandable and I am keeping you all in prayers...he is such a beautiful child..
I will go to yoga this evening. Looking forward to class with this teacher. She will be gone to Bali for over a month...another good teacher will sub for her, and I am going to miss her...she does heart yoga...a spiritual aspect of the practice...

ALL decorations are put up! Hip hip hooray! Now I need to schedule a carpet cleaning . The I am going to tackle closets! Just gotta get rid of stuff. I do this every few years. Will even go through children's books again. I had so many from teaching, have given many away, those that Laurel did not want. Some are my favorites and I can not part with them.
Having trouble getting the cam, Need to see what the problem is, but have outspent anytime messing with it.

good chilly evening all. the high today here was 25 degrees, but the sun was out!
winds have picked back up this evening and its in the low 20's now. metro did close schools today. wondering about tomorrow.
JUDYE: that's why I take a break from the news on the weekend. I feel like it is important to keep abreast of what's going on....but after a while, it just gets to me. so on the weekends, I don't watch the news.
JO: sending my energies and thoughts for Elliot as well.
well, we managed to keep Olivia from catching the flu, but, she has gotten strep throat, somehow. sheesh. I have watched her the last couple days, but by yesterday I suspected that's what it was. so since tom was off today he took her to see our doctor. I said have them run a strep test. yep. strep.
not a lot else going on. I too made chili tonight and corn bread. then I made a loaf of banana bread as well.

We had birthday cake with Will this evening. Stephanie joined us and I enlisted her to check over Hunter's chemistry work. She's very involved in chemistry classes at college.
Looks like we are in for cold weather for awhile.

Jo, sorry to hear about Elliot's hernia - though not a serious thing, I'm sure Val and aaron are beside themselves with worry. Can hernias subside on their own? Are there other alternatives besides surgery - I pray that's the case for him. Glad to hear your kitty is staying inside where it's warm!
