Good morning my friends.
It is still morning Pacific Time.
Spoke to SHAR.
What a wonderful strong person she is.
Yes there is pain.
No it is not stopping her.
She even went walking up and down the hallway!
Might even try steps!!!
She got them to adjust the height of her walker as WANDA and JO suggested. Much more comfortable now.
She is working on getting into rehab for a few days.
Might be discharged from hospital as early as tomorrow maybe!
That seems fast to me. I think rehab is a great idea.
She sounds terrific.
So prayers continue for SHAR.
I am so very proud of her.

Good luck JUDIE with Dr appointment.
Set a few of those today...
Dentist, Chiropractor, and Optometrist appointments coming up...
Sort of the same like taking the car in every six months or so to get things checked and make sure it is all working.

Love us.

Off to volunteer and to do yoga and visit and maybe even groceries! Cooking in my crock pot right now. Some chickpeas for Hummus and salads...

Enjoy your day.

Good afternoon.

Congrats to Shar on her resilience. Can't wait to see she's dancin' that jig.

Kay, so happy Penny had a good checkup. Do ya think it has something to do with the care she receives from her mom? Happy foraging.

So, doctor says bronchitis Says lots going around. So, an antibiotic and Robotussin is on my menu. Had to get the pharmacist to assist with Robotussin - does anyone realize how many danged variations there are? Anyway, I will be on the mend.

Oh, I can change the primary but honestly it really is not worth it. He's okay. Just not a person to waste a minute although he did answer my question about why doctors thump on one's back. Anyone else ever ask about that? Never did until today.

Wonder if Hoda has her skis stashed by the crock pot?

Headed across the hall to put my feet up.

paula eagleholic said...

Ha Ha, was stuck on the other side!!

Hoda, thanks for the report on our Sharon! Sounds just like her!

paula eagleholic said...

Judie...and why do they? I always remember the pediatrician doing that...

Judie said...

Well, now that you ask...

Think of the lungs as balloons filled with containers. If water is outside the containers, there is one type of sound. If the water is inside the containers, there is a higher-pitch sound. He called it the art of pertussis which used to be the only way to determine if the lungs contained fluid and where the fluid is located.

So, that's sort of how I remember what he said. Interesting to know. Just imagine how fascinating we will be at some dinner party some day. lol

Have taken the medicine and the cough syrup stuff. BBL

Last week it was pending surgeries, maybe a baby and some stressed momsters. This week it is a new baby, successful surgeries, a bronchitis and med diagnosis and a group sigh of relief. Life is rewarding!

Lolly my baby is now nine years old and I am thinking of buying one of those baby snuglis just to hold the cat. But I love him and he loves me. He doesn't like the sound of the shower curtain so I do get a shower alone. We did have one kitty who would sit on the side of the tub and splash water to the outside.

Jo, congratulations on the new member of your fantastic family. Are you thinking about the AEF Christmas cards? They are roughly 8x5. Wonder if they take extra postage? Lovely cards and appropriate sentiment.

Judie, hope you feel better soon. I am so very sorry that you have that cough. Get well!!!

Shirley, do not be disheartened about your bowling. Your health is much more important and you will be rolling balls before you know it.

Take care everyone. Enjoy the season

Kay said...

It's just like thumping on a watermelon to see if it's ripe n' juicy. Docs do it to impress you that they are really doing "Something" and also to see if your pockets are ripe n' juicy with enough money to pay the bill! Just kidding, so do tell, JUDIE!

HODA, you are SO good about calling us when we're ill or MIA! Thank you for the great report on SHAR! Hip surgeries are reportedly the easiest of orthopedic surgeries and heal faster than the rest, too. SHAR is going to be Oot n' Aboot in no time!

JUDIE, I'm glad the doc zeroed in on Bronchitis and has prescribed some important and potent remedies. I understand re:sticking with the doc you know and pretty much understand. You may be right about where HODA's well waxed ski's are stashed----or could they be stashed by the CrackPot, aka Dudley????

My pantry overfloweth, the dog hath been walked and I'm about to lyeth down....zzzzzz.

Good grief. I feel as if I am worse off than Cinderella. Just walked in the door to find that my evil stepsister Kay has turned me into a watermelon. Where is Jufie?

Can only imagine the number of times one must listen to lungs to tell if water has collected inside or outside the cells. Fascinating.

Jo, so happy Elliot made your acquaintance today. He is one lucky baby.

The medication I began this afternoon has some unpleasant side effects. Those side effects have arrived. Heading to the pillows early.

Sandperson's alarm is set for 10pm. Satchel will be packed by 11pm.

Restful sleep for all.

stronghunter said...

Hi,

Sleep well, Judie. Feel better tomorrow. Glad you visited your doctor.

PT guy says I will be sore tomorrow as a result of the exercises I did today. And that I should do more exercise.

I used to put my ear against my children's back to listen to their breathing. Congestion problems sounded like rocks rolling around in there, as I recall, but I never tapped anyone's back. Very interesting answer to your question, Judie.

stronghunter said...

Glad you got to hold Elliott, Jo. :)

About too get ready for bed. Jack and I watched recorded Masterpiece programs tonight.

Today I got the house decorated inside. Tomorrow is Laurel's birthday so maybe Friday we can put the lights up outside. Baking two pies for her birthday and Jack is grilling the meat for dinner. Also Jacob has a choir program at his school. Busy!

As I attempt to type this on my iPad, Skippi is chewing the cord on my hoodie. She has attempted many times to run off with it but it's a no go. Still threaded through the hood on the sweatshirt. I just sit and laugh at her!

Night all! SED!

Sandi said...

Good Thursday morning my eagle friends. It's cold outside this morning but I think the sun is supposed to return - yay!

Jo, glad you got to hold that baby!

Judie, hope the meds help more than they hurt!

Shar, glad to hear you are up and moving around on that new hip - one day at a time, girl!

Read on FB that today is Mr. Rogers' birthday. I always thought his show was a little too cheesy when my boys used to watch it. Now, I think the world was a kinder, gentler place when he was teaching his lessons to kids - I wish he was still around.

Another 8th grade student was caught with and on drugs yesterday - just shaking my head. Parents have been barraging district office with phone calls complaining about our kid who took heroin at the dance and is already back in school - good for them.

Had a dentist appointment yesterday to replace an old filling that was "leaking." My dentist said I should really get a crown - I said do the filling for now and we'll worry about a crown later. Less time and far less expensive! Appt. was at 4pm and my mouth was still numb when I went to bed at 10pm. Feels OK this morning.

Nail appt. after school today and then a Christmas dinner party with tennis friends - hope I can stay awake to enjoy it!

Have agreat day all.

Janet said...

good morning.

agreed SANDI: mr. Rodgers was a bit cheesy, but the lessons he taught and if those lessons could be taught and taken to heart today.............

everyone have a great day! hugs to all

Good morning my eagle budlets. I tried to post several times from the hospital but lose the post so I'll try it again. Today I will hopefully go to HealthSouth but regardless they are discharging me from here. I'm doing better than I ever dreamed. Had a delightful conversation with Hoda yesterday. I LOVE US!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Yay!!

Judie said...

Good morning.

Super good surprise to see Shar stopped by. Congrats on the discharge. Follow the rules but don't play super woman.

Shirley, my guess is that the thumping agitates the fluid to move around so one can tell if it is inside or outside the cells. Not sure. Do the exercises you can do comfortably.

Sandi, glad the parents are speaking out. Very sad about so many children with drug problems. Wonder how many parents are realizing their heads have been in the sand? Enjoy your manicure and the dinner.

Disappointed. Had planned to go with Darth to a DC history presentation by a local news anchor. Have decided a nearby bathroom should have priority. Did get some sleep.

Okay, headed back to bed. Wishing everyone a lovely morning.

Kay said...

Good Red Friday Morning, Eagle Buds!!!

SHAR, great to see you here and feeling so chipper! Hope you'll get into the rehab facility for further recuperation and physical therapy, as you desire.

SANDI, Mr. Roger's did have a cheesy quality for adults, but was heralded as a positive force in instilling a sense of worth and self confidence in the very young. Many PBS shows that air daily do a good job in that same direction. But...how many parents of today monitor what their kids are watching and learning...that is the question?

JO, baby Elliot is a joy to behold and the pictures with you and his mother, priceless!

JUDIE, sorry you couldn't go with DARTH today. Hope this is the last day you'll feel the need to stick close to home! Guess some poisons are being flushed out of your system, no pun intended.

Today is doggy play day, so Malcolm will be with Penny n' me from about 11 to 4. Yeah!

Love and prayers for all in need!

Good Thursday morning to all ♥

seeing my gs Aaron holding his son.
He has always been a 'kid's person' and now he has a son of his own. ♥

It is 39° and breezy. We need a few more strings of light out front but
maybe not today. Hard to place lights with gloves on.

No plans for today - relax as usual

Mema Jo said...

Judie I sure hope your system accepts the new meds and doesn't make you feel worse. If they do - call your dr and get something else.

Sharon is being released today - She is hoping to get into a rehab center for a while but hadn't heard
from them yet.

Also Elliot goes home today! And then Life Begins ♥

Good morning! Dec 4th. Today my baby girl is 42! So very proud of her. As a little girl she was extremely shy! She made good grades in school because she worked at it.. Clue here.....she worked at it, as it did not come easy. Came easy for Michael. She was a sweetheart of a teen. She was active in athletics. She played volleyball and ran track. Did well in college and is an excellent reading teacher and nothing shy about her when it comes to teaching. Her students test scores are proof of her excellence! She is a great momma and raising those boys to be great individuals, loving kind and Christians. I am in awe of her confidence when I look back and remember the shy little girl. She is still like me in that we are NOT public speakers. We are not chatter boxes. (Can you believe that?). We are both listeners and at social gatherings we are the quiet ones!

So now, we are picking Jacob up for her, taking her dinner, and I am in the process of making two cherry cheesecake pies. Rolled flank steak tonight! Yea!

Sharon, great to see you on here! You are going to think this the best thing ever! Just get through the rehab and on with life!

Judie, hoping you get better fast! Tis not the season to be sick! Fa la la la la la la la!

Have a great day!

Good Evening!

Making it just in the nick of time with a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Laurel! (It's only 11:36 pm here in SoCal!) Sounds like she had an enjoyable day.

Judie, hope you're starting to feel much better, and the meds are kicking in. Be sure to stay hydrated, and get lots of rest.

Shar, you sound wonderful! Guess that very soon there will be no stopping you!

The rain has stopped in our vicinity, and our lawn is happy and bright green! Very slight chance of more rain tomorrow and Saturday--but only 20%. Lolly, hope what we had comes your way!

I may be a bit scarce around here for a day or two. I got some more reports to transcribe, so I'm keeping busy. Hope everyone has a nice Red Friday. Prayers for all in need. God bless, and goodnight. I ♥ us!!

Goodorming my eagle friends - TGIF!

Judie, hope you're feeling better today.

Shar, is today release day for you?

Janet, loved that story about Jack and the cat litter!

Christmas party was good food, good company, and good fun. And I actually brought home a great gift from the Chinese auction - too often, you end up with something you just give away at those things. But someone had a handbag they had been given/bought and then never used so they wrapped it and brought it to the gift exchange. I didn't pick it but later managed to "steal" it from the person who did pick it. I really needed a new purse! Merry Christmas to me!

I am so tired today - best not to sit down at all in school or I will be snoring!! Have a great day all.

Good morning,

Yeah, Jo, I guess I was confused about what day it was when I posted yesterday. Will try to find something red today. :)

Okay, now I can say, "Good RED FRIDAY morning, Eagle Buds--with some degree of certainty.

SHIRLEY, I know the history of Red Friday well---back in 2005 or 6 the movement started in Canada. I picked up on it through an e-mail and took it to my boss at the Laughlin, NV casino/hotel where I was employed---we launched Red Fridays for back of the house employees (front of the house are in uniforms) and I believe it is still in effect there today. I have a wonderful picture of the entire PBX/Reservation department decked out in red shirts n' blouses. It was gratifying to see a sea of red in the employee dining room and downstairs hallways each Friday! Thank you to HODA's country, where the colour red is so important, for getting this movement underway!!!

LOLLY, a belated Happy Birthday to your dear Laurel--what a nice celebration you all had! Kudos to Joseph for his lighting feat!

SANDI, congrats on landing the new "pocketbook"!

I'm nursing a sinus headache on this cold, dreary, gray day. Glad there are no errands to be run. Just chillin' with Penny Lou!

Love and prayers for all in need!!!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!

I'm finally getting back here!
Had to "prove I'm not a robot" 3 times!

Got all the transcription completed, and e-mailed back to the doctor. I'm good to go for a while, until they send me more.

I have to tell you, Ken and I are giving two BIG thumbs-up to both Judie and Lolly! We made Judie's crab cakes with Lolly's green onion sauce for dinner on Saturday, and WOW was that ever yummy!!! We rate both recipes a 10!! Awesome!

We finally got our outdoor Christmas lights situation resolved yesterday. When we went to put up the lights we used last year, there were about 10 lights on each of the 4 long strings we used that wouldn't light! They were fine when they were put away last year, but a disaster now! We couldn't find enough replacement lights or fuses, so decided to buy new lights. We bought 5 new strings of lights to make sure we had enough, and got out our trusty ladder and got to work. The new lights had about 10 or 12 different modes--solid on; blinking--first all red, then all blue, then all green, etc.; blinking in a "wave" sequence; well, you get the idea. Trouble is, we found (after putting up one VERY long string) that there was only a plug at one end of the light string--no way to connect 2 strings together! Also, if you want all the strings doing the same routine, you have to climb up and reset each string every time the lights are turned on!
So, back to Wally World to do an exchange. We got one huge, long string of 400 multicolor LED mini-lights that were about the right length to do the roofline across the front of the house. Had to do a bit of readjusting to get them to reach from the far left corner of the house all the way to the far right corner, but they JUST made it, with not an inch to spare! They look really nice when lit up, and hopefully will last a few years. The old sets that we had lasted 4 or 5 years, so these new ones should last that long as well.

We got a new artificial tree for the top of our entertainment center, too. It's 4-1/2 feet tall, and almost reaches the ceiling. It's pre-lit, with either all white or multicolor LED lights, and does all kinds of blinking combos, or as we decided, solid-on multicolor. All the blinking is too distracting when you're trying to watch a TV show! Works out well for us, and Emma can't get herself in trouble chewing up ornaments. So, it's officially Christmas Season in this roost! (Finally!)

They're saying that we should expect more rain--a really strong weather front--on Friday. Lolly, by about Sunday it should have made its way to your area! The kids, near Aubrey, usually get our weather 2 days after we do.

Well, gotta get going and improve my appearance somewhat. We're going to walk the mall, as usual, and I don't want to frighten any small children!

Hope Judie and Shirley are improving rapidly, and Jo is feeling great too. Shar, hope the rehab works wonders, and you're able to go home in record time!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!
I ♥ us!!!

Sheesh!!! Had to "prove I'm not a robot" for the 4th time just now!
