Judie - so good to hear you feeling better. DARTH IS DA MAN - THE DRYER REPAIRMAN ♥

I wonder if the Lemon pie at Shirley's was devour! I still have pumpkin pies and whipped cream!

I will return later in the day.
Stay warm........

Mema Jo said...

OUCH! Splitting without being prepared - whoa~!

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Glad to know that Judie is maybe feeling better and that Darth has fixed the dryer. Yay!

Will go vote for Glo's picture in a bit.

Disappointed about my laptop. Rus worked on it, thought it was fixed and brought it here. He said that the power cord had stopped working, so I hooked it up to a different power cord. No power. It seems that some malfunction is causing it to disable whatever power cord is attached, so I am still using Kathryn's laptop.

stronghunter said...

Split without knowing I was splitting. Whee!!

stronghunter said...

Turducken was good, though the duck part got a bit dry. Will and Stephanie were busy discussing how to remedy that next time. We will see.

stronghunter said...

I think there is some lemon pie in there. Will found the recipe I use and made it himself.

I am working at keeping my knee elevated today. I had problems last night and figure it might be because I did spend a lot of time on my feet yesterday. Doctor is not in today.

Good afternoon.

Sorry about the fishin' Paula but glad you are having fun.

Glad you mentioned the turducky. Hope Shirley recovers soon and is able to share the experience. Maybe she and George are still in the recliner.

Have a fun afternoon Jo.

Got some laundry done. Taking my time. Resting as I go along. Won't take clean clothes on demand for granted again.

Going to put my feet up. BBL

Just sitting here and realized Wanda is having Thanksgiving (Family Friday) at GG's tonight. May the family enjoy being together to give thanks for Miss GG and her life.

Also hope that Steve's mom has/will have successful surgery today so her physical heart will be mended.

Judie said...

Hoda, so sorry you are feeling sick. If you like, I can send Jufie to scoop you up and bring you here and we can be sick together.

Oh, and we can go a bit further South and snatch up Shirley, her cane and her leftover lemon pie. Then we can veer Northwest and raid Jo's leftovers.

Might as well have fun if we're sick. Feel better soon, please.

Shirley - is today Hunter's b-day?

Janet said...

I am home. Sable is home. Home with momster and dadster furbabies...she is free.

We were there: Chelsea and Amelia, Tom, me, Livvy....Dr. K was crying too. Sable passed peacefully and calmly, loved and comforted as she went. I donated her medications and favorite pillow to Noah's Ark, an animal shelter Dr. K works with. That made me feel better.

We are home. I am tired.

Blessed Be and thank you.

Good afternoon eagle buds. I hope that tummies and coughs and knees are improving today.

I was trying to do my part for "small business Saturday" this morning. I need a new rotary cutter that I could get anywhere but waited until today so I could patronize a quilting shop here in town. Wouldn't you know they are closed for Thanksgiving and today. Oh well. I don't need to get involved in a sewing project when I haven't even thought about Christmas.

Lots of pumpkin pie remaining here. It is my very favorite, but just one piece gives me terrible indigestion. I just love this getting older bit. Bah.

Hoping for safe travels for our friends who are oot and aboot today.

Judie said...

Just too funny. Lynne wants a rotary cutter. Of course, I need directions to identify a sewing needle. My vision was something to cut circles in the yard. lol

Tomorrow is our turkey day. Hoping most of my taste buds will be joining us. Plan to make an apple pie. Only side dishes will be dressing and cranberry sauce. Will brine the turkey overnight. Will make some gravy from drippings.

Thank you Hoda. Hoping Hunter enjoys his guitar and the XBox to learn how to play.

Shower - check. Hair washed/dried - check. Clean clothes - check. Feet going up - check.

stronghunter said...

Hi,

To explain--the guitar connects to the Xbox and the game teaches the kid how to play the guitar. The headset makes it so he can be the only one to hear the music. That is what I know at this point.

Hunter already has an Xbox game that has drums and a guitar, but the guitar isn't a real one. Hunter has enjoyed playing it. It can get plenty noisy. He has enjoyed some of the rock bands from the 80s when Kathryn was growing up.

They are off running errands today. I am staying home resting my knee. Staying off my feet seems to help, but it gets old.

i'm back. Chelsea had called.

got a funny jack story. soooo, my 7 year old grandson has discovered that he has a multi-directional urination unit.

now, many kids have snow to experiment with. we do not.

so, in the last couple of weeks Chelsea noticed that the cat box litter was getting used up really fast.

she ASSUMED that he was pouring his glass of water that he took to his bedroom into the litter pan in the a.m. vice dumping it down the drain.

he was told don't do that.

litter pan was still turning into "concrete" far too quickly.

jack had decided it was a good idea to urinate in the litter pan ...going out of his way to do so.

so, as part of his punishment, he had to buy a box of cat litter.

every month I give each grandchild a $5 to do with as they please. just cuz I want to . well, when I gave Chelsea the $$ (in front of kids) I said give this to them when it is appropriate, knowing jack had been a buckethead lately.

she said, well mia can have hers and so can lorelei, but because of jack's actions, he cannot. he owes me a box of cat litter.

ya think that would be the end of it, right?

so my phone rings yesterday. it is jack. apparently he gave his momma a fit about this, no that's the money moogie gave to me and you can't take it and use it for cat litter and Chelsea was like, we covered this with moogie right there, but you can call and ask her. if she sides with you then you may have the money. if she doesn't you will buy cat litter with it.

so jack says "moogie, do you think its fair that mommy is making me buy cat litter with the money that you gave to me?"

and to his sad disappointment, I said yes jack, I think it is very fair considering you are the one who ruined the cat litter. you need to make better choices.

wah
wah
wah.

moogie the meanie. meaniest grandma of the year award!

anyway, cooling off here today. liquid sunshine expected later I think.

hope everyone has agreat day!

Good morning! I have a kitty that will not stop purring! She is now tearing around the house growling! Lol. She has a weeks worth of tearing around to do! They said she did fine. She sniffed the tree and so far ignoring it!

Ok, and now she has settled on my chest, under my chin and of course purring! Not going to get much done today.

Janet, loved the story of your grandson.oh, little boys!!!

143 votes!

stronghunter said...

Okay. Confused. I thought it said 144 votes. I thought I had voted, and when I saw 143, it said I had already voted. I saw 143 on one window and 144 on another one.

Mema Jo said...

Shirley - 144 is registered on mine.
I had voted earlier today and I was
# 143 - Yes, I sent a PM to Glo with my reply and she also thinks that is a heck of a long contest.

Good Afternoon Eagle Buds !!!

Haven't even begun to catch up with everything y'all have been up to, but I do note all had a wonderful, goodies filled holiday week. With the possible exception of Lynne2 and STEVE and my prayers are with them as they give a lot of TLC to his mother. Also praying for our dear SHAR as she prepares for surgery.

Enjoyed accounts of times spent with children and grandchildren! MOOGIE backed her daughter up so beautifully! Jack has a wise mom and grandmom!

Kudos to DARTH the Dryer Man extraordinaire! JUDIE, so happy you're on the mend and that the two of you finally enjoyed a delayed feast!

As for me, the week in NJ was absolutely perfect and the airline service impressive! Today it was back to aquatic exercise in an attempt to undo last weeks damage!

Love and prayers for all !!!

Hi,

Just did some reading back.

Good to know that your biopsy was negative, Janet.

Nice to see you have returned safely from NJ, Kay.

We will be having leftover pizza tonight. Lots of pizza was purchased for Hunter's birthday bash, and we have quite a few slices of various kinds left.

Also some salad makings in there, so I think I will put a salad out as well.

stronghunter said...

Made arrangements to pick up Val tomorrow and take her to the bowling alley so we can meet and greet and then pick up Julie for our lunch get-together. Val is feeling better since the surgery on her arm.

I am getting better, too. I do hope to bowl again next week.

Seems everyone is reporting a good day.

Shirley, enjoy the day with Val and Julie. Hope you team wins and enjoy lunch. Oh, hope the pizza was good tonight. I've heard the song about good vibrations so hope that's the case for your knee.

Loretta, I do wish I could hear some Tundra swans near my abode. How's your Punkin'?

Wonder if Jo's visitor is still visiting? Hope so. Getting cold outside.

Welcome home Kay. Is Penny back with you?

Janet, Sandperson is on the way.

Good evening my eagle budlets. I figured I had better check in. Tomorrow is my hip replacement. I have to be there at 5 a.m. I will take all the love, prayers, positive energy, light that I can get. I'm a bit frightened.

I LOVE US!

Judie said...

Sandperson departed early tonight with a satchel of sleepy dust.

Jufie is nowhere to be found. Possibly hiding under leaves near pecan trees outside Dallas. Sure hope there will no case of mistaken identify by someone with a shotgun.

Night light is on. Restful sleep for all.

Wishing Shar the best for surgery and for recovery.

I finished watching TV - Major Crimes

Now I am going to get ready to close down for the day.

I am sitting on pins and needles awaiting a call from Jennifer telling me that Aaron and Val have gone on over to the hospital. They
were there this morning hour and
mid wife said they could go home or stay - Wait! Val is being admitted right now! Come on Elliott! ♥

Mema Jo said...

I should have great news to report come morning! ♥

Good evening! Sat here and watched The Voice. Our little hometown girl is out.

Skippi has been a lover all day. Most of the time wanting to be near my face, on my chest and ünder my chin. No sleep tonight!

Really worried about Judie! Using a litter box? Judie!!!

Jo, how exciting! A new baby coming!

Sharon, prayers will be with you tomorrow! BIL has a hip they gave him and he is doing great. Lady in our church has had both hips replaced and she bowls!

Time to hit the sack! Night all! SED!

Skippi continues to ignore the tree!

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends!

Shar, sending prayers and positive energy your way today for a successful surgery. Guess you are getting prepped now.

Shirley, glad the knee is feeling a little better.

Jo, hope all goes smoothly for Val and Aaron and little Elliot today - perhaps he's already here and they are all resting.

Another 8th grader was high in school yesterday - drugs were also found in his locker. This boy is on the other 8th grad team. Sadly, his father is the chief of police right here in South Bethany so I know him well. No one's kids are immune to making poor choices. Our boy who used the heroin at the dance didn't return to school yesterday - maybe today. Still shaking my head about that decision!

Have a great day all - some places nearby are expecting ice and/or snow today. Just rain here.

Good early morning.

Unable to sleep. Still coughing.

Sure hope baby Elliot has arrived and he and mom Val are resting and getting to know one another. Sending congratulations to all the family and grandmommy Jennifer.

Lolly, glad Skippi is ignoring the tree - for now. lol

Sandi, it really is so very heartbreaking to find out what young people are into now. No child is immune from the lure of drugs.

Okay, headed to sip some coffee. Raining here this morning. Cold today. Have cabin fever. May have to venture out to forage if only to get a change of scenery.

Good morning,

Cold and rainy here this morning. Hunter seems to have forgotten his promise to wear a jacket. At least, he had on long pants.

Bought one item online yesterday. Did get a discount and free delivery. Sweatsuit for myself.

Prayers and good wishes for our Sharon.

Second cup of coffee tastes very good.

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

Mega prayers for SHAR!!! Hope SISSY will give us a speedy report.

Anxious for JO to show up. Hope Elliot has arrived safely and that he, his parents, Jenny et al are getting acquainted!

JUDIE, so sorry coughing is still depriving you of a much needed long restorative sleep! Prayers!

SANDI, your school is a microcosm of middle and high schools all over this drug infested country. Such a sad, sad situation.

SHIRLEY, here's hoping Hunter's reluctance to wear winter wraps is as serious as his teen rebellion gets to be! Sometimes all you can do with a teenager is just love him/her---they can defy all rules of logic!

LOLLY, hard to believe Skippi is ignoring the tree---she's a gem!

Both the "J" sisters were rushed this a.m.---hope they're enjoying a good day!

Guess I should clean the bod and touch up the house. An old friend is stopping by early this afternoon for a little visit. She won't have her white gloves on, but still.....

Reminds me, LYNNE1, how did T'Day with Ms. Fussbudget go? I'm sure your home was clean enough to pass muster!

Any news on FB from LYNNE2 about her m.i.l.?

Love and prayers for all !!!

Oh for JOY, JO!!!! ED must be tickled pink n' not a bit blue over little Elliot's middle name. Can't wait til' we see pics of lucky little number 13!

SISSY, thanks ever so much for the SHAR report---now let healing begin! She'll be able to do a happy dance for herself soon!

No, JO, you do an amazing job of keeping up with the latest news. I had no idea Ohio has an "eagle" plate. I just ordered up my standard plate for 2015 or I might have been tempted--it doesn't fit in with my current austerity campaign. I'm finding it difficult to cut back on Christmas for the kids, but cut each of the grands gifts by $5.00 this year. All five will, by Christmas Day, over 25, but all in are in college for undergrad, masters and Phd's so a little help from Grandmother is still a must in my opinion. Anyway that 25 bucks savings will help me and they won't miss it. None have a greedy bone in their precious bodies!

Wow, 150 Blizzard Bear votes! Yeah! Wish I'd been able to vote. Did anyone figure out how a non-FB person could do so?

Kay said...

JO, I just took a look at the Eagle Plate---it's a beaut and I would have been sorely tempted had I seen it earlier!☺

Wishing Sharon a speedy recovery! She should do well!

Question: Why does our friend Hoda

take her skis to yoga?

Judie said...

Wow!

Returned from foraging (got tired) to find that Jo is a great-grandmother for the lucky 13th time. Jenny looks wonderful holding baby Elliot Lennox. Congratulations to all.

So glad to know that Shar's surgery was not complicated. She should be up and about and dancing a jig in no time.

Will read back more carefully later. Need to gather some strength.

Oh, about Hoda taking skis to yoga - well, saw on the news this morning a new type of aerial yoga where the person uses a sling-type device and is elevated above the floor. Maybe Hoda is doing that and fears she might need her skis to get down. lol

Bye

Kay said...

JUDY, JO is spot on. I've tried, but that site is only set up for FBer's. Too bad.

JO, doesn't it thrill you to pieces to see Jenny holding a healthy little bundle of joy? Elliot Lennox is joining a wonderful, loving family!

JUDIE, get some rest---musn't do too much foraging til' you build back up again.

HODA, happy skiing and yogaing!

LOLLY: glad you had a nice warm massaged neck over night.
JUDIE: uh hem, perhaps you need to see the dr. so you can get some meds to quiet that cough so you can rest and heal?
STRONGHUNTER: how was bowling?
HODA: off creating a new sport eh? yoga skiing....hmmmm
KAY: just having a nice semi normal morning....and not a lot going on @ 6 a.m.
and thinking of Sharon and Sissy....healing and hugs.

Well its a blustery gray day here. Kind of chilly. Was great to be back at work....except I was really angry. I had seen this coming, but still....the fact that it actually came to pass....

a co-worker of mine, he is lead (head) therapist did something at work a week or so ago. I wondered about this thing that he did...as I knew he was going to do it.

But he is lead therapist. I am just a therapist. It is not my place to question him.

It is not my place to run to the boss and say did you know? I assume that he ran this thing past the boss.

Well, I was there the morning he did this thing and the boss came in and blew up.

It looked like I was guilty by association, the fact that I was present. I caught the boss to let her know I did not agree with what he had done, and had assumed he had cleared this with her.

and my gut said, hold tight.

So today boss calls me in the office and said I want to get your spin on the xyz incident. and I explained it to her. yes, he had told me prior he was planning to do this. I assumed he had cleared it with her. it was not my place to question him nor her so yes I was present, but did NOT participate.

she said that is what she figured. she has caught him in a lot of lies before and he is on his way to being demoted from lead therapist.

I am not in any trouble as I did nothing wrong. but he sure tried to throw me under the bus.

I was very angry with him.

I have now let it go. what comes around goes around.

livvy seems to have caught a cold or something. running a low grade fever. she spent the previous weekend with Chelsea and the crew and we know they bring home all sorts of yummy school germs...plus they went shopping.... so have medicated her and have her sleeping.

as for me. its quiet. just gonna catch the 4 p.m. news, fix dinner, and go from there.

love and hugs to all!

Good evening,

Fire in the fireplace. Cozy here.

I had a very nice visit with my bowling buddies. Unfortunately, the team lost all of the games. Val, Julie, and I went out to Cracker Barrel, and I enjoyed a country fried steak.

Good to hear that the surgery went well for our Sharon.

Judie, take good care of yourself.

Congratulations on the 13th great grandchild, Jo!

stronghunter said...

Good that your boss took the time to talk with you, Janet.

stronghunter said...

Contemplating on why Hoda is taking skis to Yoga. Maybe she is just being prepared in case she needs skis to get home. One just never knows up there in Canada.

Judie said...

Well, personally, I suspect Hoda and Jufie are in cahoots and planning a new career for Hoda - the skiing yogi (: Can just imagine what poor ole Dudley is going to do with that.

Glad Shar is up even with some discomfort. Tomorrow she will be even better.

Okay, I hesitate to call my primary. He seems to like to simply refer me to some specialist or other. Not comfortable with him. I'll be just fine. For me, a cold usually settles in my chest and hangs about for a week or two.

Jo, not much of interest on tv tonight for me. Do have today's crossword I can work on.

Shirley, glad you had a good lunch with Val and Julie but am sorry the team lost. How's the knee today?

Janet, what a relief for you to know your boss is good about checking facts before acting. No doubt whatever happened was not good and glad you are not being tarred with the same brush.

Okay, one more bit of laundry and then I'm done and caught up.

Well!
Simple!
I had taken my skis to get waxed, oh no!!! No rude comments!!! I ski on a no wax ski with fish scales. Low maintenance during the season. To start the season I take them in to get a good grounding wax and a maintenance for the season. Took them in Sunday. They were ready today. Went to get my skis then to yoga. Simple!

Beautiful Picture JO.
SHAR NEWS IS AWESOME. She is a trooper that one. Love and Light SHAR.

JANET document everything. What ever happened could come back to bite you years later. Law suits abound with such examples. Write it down on paper while it is still fresh in your head. If possible get your boss to write you her understanding of what happened!!! Err on the side of caution.
Welcome back KAY.

18000 birds in one farm destroyed. Glad I do not eat meat!! None of it is safe!

evening all.

good idea HODA.

he just violated a boo-coup of rules at work....and thankful boss is very level headed and does her due diligence. she wasn't angry and never thought I was involved....she just wanted to cover her bases that she spoke with me. nothing was written down; it wasn't an "official" meeting...but still, writing it down not a bad idea.

thing is, his record is that he is of being a liar and a very manipulative person. the rules apply to everyone but him. and gail knows this. (boss). I am going to just keep my mouth shut and allow him to hang himself, he seems to be heading quickly in that direction.

I am most thankful gail knows me well.

What a terrible situation with the son of the Police chief.

Judie, have you tried some Mucinex? So sorry you still have that cough! Been there, done that...I had an intercostal muscle strain that was SO bad once from coughing that I missed Thanksgiving dinner. I feel for you.

Shirley, how is the knee?

I am VERY HAPPY to report that my MIL is doing GREEEEAAAAAT! She is hoping to go home tomorrow already!! We'll see....that may be a bit ambitious. I think she really hates the food! Steve is still there and will stay for a few days after she comes home to make sure she is settled. I have to say, his sisters are such losers. As is one of her hubby's kids. I told them all months ago that they needed help and visitation with them and not a one has stepped up. I also told that if from this point on they cannot come when they are alive, they will not get past me at the funerals when someday, hopefully a long time from now, they die.

Lynne2 said...

ah, that's better....time to move on to the new winter season!

Yes, it was very good to see Val and Julie again. Val is not able to drive yet, and so she asked me to pick her up. She lives next to a golf course and has a beautiful view from the back of her house. I'd not been there before, so I'd not seen it.

Val is hoping to be able to do some bowling later in the season. It's a bad break--two bones in her lower arm, and has a metal plate on one now, but it is her left arm and she is right-handed. We will see.

News is coming on, so will say good night! SED!

Lynne, will say this......So happy your MIL is doing well. Mother had the surgery, not bypass but open heart to replace a valve. Janet, very happy that you're not in trouble at work.

Shirley, is your knee getting better? Sure hope so.

Lynne2, I'm thrilled that your MIL is doing so well!

It's been raining all day today, and we are under a Flood Warning at this point. Golly, you should see how much water is in the Santa Ana Riverbed! I've seen geological maps in the past, and don't think we are in any danger where we are. Have I mentioned that I LOVE it when it rains?!
Emma loves it too. Had to break out her raincoat to keep her from getting really soaked.

Well, I have to go check on the dryer--I think the last load of the day is dry. Hope everyone has a restful night's sleep, with SED! Goodnight, and God bless.

Good morning! Oh, Jo, I am so very sorry I said something on fb! My bad! Again so very sorry!

Well,as I sit in my chair, Skippi is right here between my legs in the recliner. Woke up this morn and she was on my left shoulder and under my chin. I did not realize she was there til I woke up! Then another time she was on my ear and part of my face! I may have to get a baby carrier to take her everywhere with me. LOL

Andy, so thrilled you are getting rain. Wish we would get some. One lake around here has all but dried up and the town that built the lake is running out of water. So very sad!

Just waiting for the shoe to drop. Lynne is sure to seek revenge on fb after I pushed her down the stairs!

Time to get busy! I am so s l o w in the mornings. Day is half gone before I am up and moving! Yikes!
