Good morning again.

Thank you Steve for a fresh weekend thread. Wishing you and the staff a lovely weekend.

No special plans for me today other than Kennedy tonight. Lion King. Will probably try to catch up on laundry and restoring order to the refrigerator. Oh my, I'm turning into an indoor Lolly. lol

MT nest. Pete's Pond quiet. Isla's out on the lake. Bears okay.

Hoda, nothing of concern. Prayers needed for others. Thank you for asking.

Wishing everyone as good a morning as possible.

Good morning everybody.

I LOVE US!

The other day I was sitting at my desk and T-Bird was in the living room. She asked if any of our dogs were outside because we both heard a dog whine. It sounded exactly like Buddy whining to come in. All dogs were present and accounted for. I even went outside and looked around the house to see if there was a stray out there or something. Found nothing. Yesterday, I heard it again and realized the sound had finally started working on my other computer and it was the eaglets squealing on the eagle cam.

Quick check in.

Hoda, previous thread you asked for a report and I assumed you meant my Monday doctor appt. All is well. No prayers needed for me.

Jo, I have every intention of wearing my feather to the play. After all, Africa has critters with feathers. Have already spent time this morning coordinating my attire. Expect many young persons there. Glad the grands enjoyed.

Good news that Sharon's computer is working AND produced eagle sounds.

Hi, Everyone,
Gosh, I'm finally getting back here! It's been a busy couple of days!

I'm sorry you're having to wait until next week, Jo, but I'm sure your doctor knows the best way to do things. I understand what he said about your wheezing. Ken usually sounds like antique bagpipes early in the morning. Any new doctors are often alarmed, but it's just the way he is. It clears up once he takes an antihistamine. Anyway, you remain on the prayer list, and we will pray you through the procedure next week. Love you!
((HUGS))!!!

Ken has had 2 dental appts., (got in a day early due to a cancellation!) and now he has a temporary bridge in place, and some squeaky clean teeth! He goes back in Monday to have his teeth whitened, and then he'll get the permanent bridge put in. Would you believe that his dentist called last evening to ask how he was doing?! Wow, I'm impressed.

We had planned to go visit the Art-A-Fair down in Laguna Beach today, but our kitchen sink decided to back up this morning after breakfast, so we have a call in to a plumber instead. Hope he can get here today! Don't dare use the kitchen sink, or do any laundry, until it's fixed. This particular line backs up about once a year. It's a fairly small pipe, which goes from the kitchen sink, turns a tight corner, picks up the drain from the washer, turns another tight corner, and goes out to the street. Between grease from the sink, gunk from the dishwasher, stuff from the garbage disposal, and lint from the washing machine, it generally builds up enough stuff to back up yearly.
They should have made the pipe a larger one, seems to me! We have to be extremely careful of what we put down the disposal.

Wow, Hoda! You certainly are having crazy hot weather! We are too, here in So. Calif. It's humid here, which is no fun. Hope that goes away next week. Hang in there, and I will too!

Judie, I bet you will LOVE Lion King! We went up to Los Angeles years ago and saw it--amazing!

Well, I'd better go for now, and schedule some bill payments online. Will check back in later to see how things are going at the Sycamore Palace. Have a nice Red Friday, everyone! I ♥ us!!!

Judie said...

JudyE, hope you got time with Jordyn today - rain or shine. You two always seem to find fun things to do.

Andy, bet Kubby is glad the biggest part of the process is over. Congrats to him. Yes, Lion King should be enjoyable. Feel a bit sorry for the performers because of the heat on stage and the elaborate makeup and costumes.

Check in later.

Just no dancing on the stage....

Good day. Busy at work. Hot out right now. Going to get the boat prepped for tomorrow. Planning on putting down some non skid on the pool deck steps. kind of slippery when wet. Do some dinner. Relax a bit...maybe aswim later.

Hugs to all!

Judie said...

Well, I won't dance on the stage but will someday tell the tale of how I became part of a play and another time my raincoat had a small part. Those are best told with a gathering of momsters who have had a glass or two of "ginger ale."

Margy, try to get caught up at home, please.

Shirley, will let you know about the play. Think it's here through most of August. Also, have forgotten twice to say I hope Keisha gets prompt and effective treatment.

Okay, need to make myself less scary.

I am totally bewildered. I had never seen this side of her.
She is stressed being in a foreign country.
She knew she was coming to a foreign country though.
She thought four months of being on holiday treated the same way like she did when she came here the past three times.
I can not do it for four months to take her around and buy things for her. She knew that.
She has two and a half months left here. She wants to go to a family reunion in August. If she crosses to the US all things being equal, she has no residence in the US, the Canadian Authorities will not let her through a second time. Her visa allows her only one entry with no formal address in the USA and she has to leave here by September 30th. She thinks they are wrong and out to prosecute her and she thinks she should be allowed to work in Canada. They explicitly said no to her and put that on her visa. They also said no to her getting on Canadian health care.
Sorry.
I needed to vent before I go listen to Eleanor Wachtel with her tonight. I am worried about her and her mental state...
Blessed Be.

HODA: sending you light and love. hold her in the light. you cannot change her. this is her path, her journey. perhaps she can leave early??? being direct with communication is often the best way to take care of such situations. it is tough though...holding you close my friend....

JUDYE: your granddaughter is so cute and such great stories!!!!

let's see: I put the stuff on the pool deck steps so hopefully now no one slips and falls ....non skid. I have such a hard time remembering that name!

boat is scrubbed. floatation devices onboard and accounted for. fishing gear on board. boat bag (towels, sun screen etc) ready and on board. in the a.m. load up the cooler, put boat on truck hitch and get 'er done!!! have some fun......

Good late evening.

Play was stupendous. Cannot begin to imagine what it takes to create the costumes and the talent for the puppets. Really really nice.

Hoda, Janet is correct. Your friend IS traveling her own path. The path may be due to illness. Regardless, you cannot change that path for her. You are a very, very busy person and can simply use that to avoid being with her. If all else fails, just be honest and let her know her negativity is unpleasant and unacceptable.

JudyE, not quite sure I understand what's going on but have fun whatever it is.

Jo, glad you had some family time. Happy Birthday early to gs.

Sandperson had already departed when we got home. So, the night light is on.

Restful sleep for all.

Hi, Everyone,
Dropping in to say goodnight.

Hoda, saying some serious prayers for your friend. Feel really bewildered at her unhappiness. Praying that she will be unable to drag you down to her level. Hoping that some of your optimism and light will find its way into her heart somehow, and turn her around. However, if it doesn't happen, then it's just not meant to be at this time. Sending ((BIG HUGS)) and lots of love! Hang in there!!!

Shar, praying that your friend will feel better soon. May her doctors find the perfect treatment for her!

Well, Emma is begging for me to make a lap for her, so I'll say
goodnight and God bless. Can't wait to hear Judie's story about tonight's entertainment!

The security system is enabled, so be sure to refresh your memories about your passwords!

Jo, prayers for your healing being sent heavenward. Sweet dreams! ((HUGS))!!!

Thank you JANET JUDIE and ANDY.
She is my friend and I can not totally abandon her. She is very difficult to deal with right now but I am sure something else is going on. I stay positive and do not take on her negativity. It is draining and I see her once every week or ten days.

It went better than I expected this evening and it was an excellent speaker we listened to.

Goodorming my eagle friends. Nest looks MT but I hear a juvie squawking every once in a while - must be calling for Mom and Dad to bring some food!

Judie, Lion King - one of my favorites!! Mom, Kevin, and I went to see it at the Hippodrome in Baltimore. Just incredible!! Madeline's ice skating show this past March was Lion King and, as soon as the opening notes for Circle of Life started, I burst into tears b/c Mom had just died and suddenly I remembered that she and I saw the show together. Even people who say they don't like live theatre should see Lion King live - what a spectacular production!

Oh my, lots of squealing off-camera and cam shaking.

Went to the beach after tennis yesterday. A BFF from Baltimore has been here for the past 2 weeks and yesterday was Karen's last full day before they go home (they rent their house out for most of the summer b/c even though Karen has retired from teaching, Dick is still a practicing gastroenterologist at Harbor Hospital downtown). Mitch (Lisa's husband) came back to the beach after working a few days so the Buchman family is together agin - the kids are happier with both parents here (and so is Lisa).

Paula, how is Larry feeling these days?

Hoda, good luck with your friend - sounds like you are handling things well, though I know the negative energy bothers you.

Jo, prayers continue for you.

Have a great day all.

Whoops! I'll go turn off the furnace right now!!! Sorry! Guess that is why it is 86 right now. LOL We are looking forward to that cool front this week. Going to be a real blessing. Chance of rain later on in the week....prayers, please!!

Hoda, friends just returned from a week in the Yoho, Banff area. They made it to the ice fields but not to Jasper. They saw 16 or so bears while there. Once on the road from Banff to Yoho they saw a momma grizzly and her two little grizzly gruffs! Wow! Would have loved to have seen that many!

We have had a great day but we are tired. We all worked, except Jacob, on the upper pond. Jacob avoids work. Joseph was a huge help. He worked hard to the whole time, no complaining!! He was fantastic. He was paid accordingly! Proud of that boy! And told him so!

They wore Skippi out! They left after lunch and she has been sleeping ever since.

Going to Dallas tomorrow afternoon. Going to watch the soccer game and Michael is going to grill.

Pulled up the cam and the nest was empty but I heard an eagle call! ☺

HODA: what a fabulous sight that must have been!!!!!! your descriptions was powerful!

beautiful day here. sun is out. I think we are anticipating rain tomorrow.

my plans: drink this cup of coffee, get dressed, fed the furbabies and finish the top half of the back part of the deck today> (on the house deck, there is a new part and an old part). the new part is what I wish to finish and I think I can.

yesterday was a good day. not our usual on the lake, water was a bit choppy and some moods were not top notch, but we had fun after all. no fish were biting, we were there too late I believe. but the new seats that tom installed are pretty rocking!

jack and livvy had fun tubing. I think I might need to take Olivia back to the dr tomorrow. after 10 days on antibiotics she still isn't right.....still a cough and tired. lethargic. little bursts of energy but then sleeeeeps. not hungry. concerned mom here.

had a wild hair yesterday and when we got home, I insisted on pressure washing the concrete where the boat sits before we put it back. (do ya'll feel sorry for tom yet?) but it looks so NICE now!

Have appt. end of month w/another dentist to discuss a solution. I try not to look at the calendar!
Been busy trying to keep all the flowers alive and checking little kitties in the garage. I wish they could stay together.Don't know how, but gotta get them more socialized. They Hiss if you touch them still. Of course, 2 now have been handled for eye drops. I would hiss, too!
I have group of mystery flowers starting to open in back yard. Think they might be common sunflower, but not sure.Must have come from Johnny Sunflower Seed!☺

Storm just went through. Still have some thunder and lightening.

Sandperson has packed a satchel, donned a raincoat and his Ugh rain boots. Jufie is searching for a thunder belt thingy.

Night light is on. Restful sleep for all. Headed to the pillows.

Kathryn has signed Hunter up for Y-Camp starting tomorrow. Will keep me running back and forth, but give me some freedom. It's a day camp for kids 13-15.

Looks like the bad storms are going north of us. We could use some gentle rain. It has been necessary to water vegetables and flowers.

Kathryn and Hunter stopped by the hospital to visit Keshia. She is still having lots of pain and other problems. They will do a colonoscopy tomorrow.

I have had colitis since 2009. It took awhile to find the proper medication, but I certainly did not have all of the problems Keshia is having.

We are home and had a great day. All were there except for Joseph who was at a friends. Lots of good food and lots of fun!

When we arrived at Michaels, as I was getting out of the car I hit my hand on the car some how. Looked down and saw that the garnet was out of my ring. Well, I was standing in thick grass just at the curb. Casually looked but knew that it would never be found in the grass. When we went to leave I again looked casually in the street. And....tah dah....found the stone! Now to the jewelers Tues to get it reset. Jack bought me this ring in Williamsburg. Very special to me!

Skippi came running and purr/rumbling when we got home. Happy to see her people!

Tomorrow I gotta do some shopping. Jack's birthday is Thursday. Need to find a new cover for his Kindle. He has worn his out!!

Heading to the shower and pillow shortly.

Night all! SED!!

Goodorming my eagle friends. Nest looks and sounds MT this morning.

Went to a dog birthday party yesterday for a neighbor's dog, Coco. Another neighbor, who has 3 doxies and fosters for the Dachshund Rescue of North America showed up to the party with a dog she just started fostering - a senior (12 years old) named Jenni. Such a sweet dog and Bella liked her right away. Jenni's mom for her entire life had to go into a nursing home and couldn't keep her. I decided to walk her home with Bella and me after the party. Denny wouldn't even look at her - just kept repeating that he wasn't ready for a second dog.

So I walked her back to Barb's house, posted her photo on FB trying to find a home for her, and we all went out to dinner. I was very quiet toward Denny throughout dinner (can you say silent treatment)! When we got home, Denny agreed to spend some time with Jenni today so she is coming to the house this afternoon. Sometimes you find the "right" dog, and sometimes the "right" dog finds you.

Shirley, Y-camp sounds like a good idea for Hunter - he liked it last summer as I recall.

Jo, did Michael arrive in Guatemala? What a wonderful guy he is!!

Hoda, how was your dragon boat day?

Janet, hope Livvy is feeling better soon. When does Neely Middle School open? :)

No rain here yesterday but it's on the way starting this afternoon. My guess is today will be a beach day since the Buchmans are leaving tomorrow. It has been a good visit but I'm ready to have my house back to myself after almost 3 weeks of company!

Have a good day all.

Good morning!

Sandi, I do hope it works out for you and the dog! We are enjoying Skippi so much. She is perfect for us! When we came home yesterday from Michael's, she came running and purring. Such a loving kitty. Love Siamese, they are more like dogs in their personalities.

Going out to water pots before it gets too hot!

Shopping for Jack is on the agenda today.

Good morning to all ♥

Storm last evening was a 'wicked' one
Only one dead limb lying in the yard - so that is fortunate - Power stayed on.... Thank goodness the nest is still in tact. More storms predicted for later today.

I have been searching for the trip blog to Guatemala but I am not yet finding it like I can for Haiti's trips. Since I have heard nothing I feel the group arrived safely and is already into their service work for the mission they are on. Michael has no knowledge of Spanish - wish he did!

Good luck with Jenni, Sandi - Bella may be the key factor in Denny accepting her.

Lolly, Good luck shopping for Jack's b-day present. I'm sure you have something special in mind for which you are searching.

Good morning to all.

Slept in a bit. I was wiped out. I kind of forgot that Chels and Chris were going to a concert last night and we had the kids!

OOOPS

I remembered as I was lying in the living room floor on my back with Tom digging a splinter out of my foot. And they walked in a short time later.

It was all good. However, Jack was in trouble as he had been a bucket head at home and so now allowed to swim. Amelia wanted to visit with Miss Peggy across the street.

I didn't get to pooperscoop and such, but I did get Tom to fix a couple of small things that I wanted done (much to his dismay)

SANDI: Metro is starting "late" this year: Aug 6.

I had planned to start the 4th, but then this opportunity came up and so I will start a week later.

Right now, I am just having summer. We did a month of "summer school" boning up on some things last month. Agreed to take July OFF and start again in August.

The opportunity of which I speak is something I haven't shared here because I don't have a lot of details, yet. After a phone call later this week that I am anxiously waiting on, I should have more.

Sooo, you all know I talk about Rebecca, Danny, Kathy...of Tuatha Dea. The band out of Gatlinburg with whom I have become friends and just think they are the bees knees!?

Here's the thing: they've only been a "band" for about 4 years. Doing very well for a band so young, actually. Typically it takes 5+ years to do some of the stuff they have done, just looking at it from a business sense.

ANYWAY! So the thing is, there is an author, Alex Bledsoe, he goes to the gathering in May as well as several other authors. Nice folks. He wrote this trilogy about this group of people who reside in the Appalachian Mts. They are a musical people, fae folk of old with Celtic roots.
Anyway, HUM AND THE SHIVER, and WISP OF A THING are already out (why yes, I read them) and LONG BLACK CURL is supposed to come out next year . (can hardly wait)

So when Alex wrote these books he had never heard of Tuatha Dea. His people in the books are called TUFAS, which is short in Gaelic for Tuatha.

When he met Rebecca and Danny two years ago this idea came in his head....and thus the last album was born. TUFA TALES. That was released in May. Excellent btw.

So NOW Tuatha Dea is doing their FIRST PROFESSIONAL MUSIC VIDEO
3 guesses as to whom is going to be in the video.

can ya guess?
can ya guess?
can ya guess?

:) :):) :)

I am just going to be an "extra" along with some other folks, bringing the TUFA to life. But I took some time off of work the first week of August to zip back to Gatlinburg to do this project with them.

I am very excited!!!! Rebecca is supposed to call me later this week with some info and details!

THUS school starts a week later.

Okay, now that I've talked your ear off, will get moving along. Sun is out, but rain expected I think. Must clean house and do laundry today. :)

Light, love, healing, smiles and hugs to each of you!
