Hi Lynne. Yes, you got the feather today. Congrats!

Thank you Steve for the fresh bobble-head watch thread. Have a wonderful week.

Mornin' Wanda. Hi to the Capt. and to Miss GG. Hope you're feeling extra special good in the warm weather.

Right Judie?

You certainly are entitled to a "Feather" - Hope it's an extra special day for you!

I best go back and read the other thread to see what is going on this morning.

Happy to hear Sandi found an eagle in the nest on her journey near home.

Happy Birthday Steve - Hope Lynne gets you a cake and even eats a piece with you to celebrate your day

Good morning! I did it again last night, went to bed without saying good night nor shutting down my laptop. I mean, I really crashed yesterday!!

Going to "walk" in a little while and get my blood stirring. Need to accomplish something today.

Happy Birthday to Steve! I think yesterday was a great way to celebrate!!

I think Hoda needs to let us know when she has bathed with her special soap. lol

glo said...

Good morning everyone. Happy Birthday to Steve I agree a birthday celebration cake is a great idea for you two to share. You have had quite the winter. Time for spring and a new year. Ahhhh hatch week at NCTC. I sure hope all the white stuff is gone now. Time for warming beautiful kind of days. prayers for all. Its raining here still but given last years drought no one especially the farmer is complaining.

Good morning all. I am sitting at my desk today to eat my lunch. I wanted to get on here to see what the chat was about when the first baby should arrive. An egg roll is going on. Thought I saw where it was said that maybe Wednesday would be the day.

I thougft the child was leaving us, but I was wrong! Her meeting today is in the afternoon in Crystal City, VA, so Fubby will take her there. That's up the road from Reagan Nat'l. Airport and I guess she will come home in the PM. YAY!I think she's in town til TH & then the weather gets colder!! Good timing.
I keep checking the nest, but so far Belle is plopped on the eggs.

Lolly said...

Yea, for you, Loretta! Absolutely wonderful to have adult child at home. Enjoy!!!

Hi Candy, great to have you peeking in.

Have finished my walking and the second load of wash is drying. I have already accomplished more today than I did yesterday. Now to put my street face on and head to the grossssssery store! Gross!

Hi,

Just sitting here while my car is getting some maintenance work done. At Kathryn's former place of employment. They did the original work. Brake pad issue.

So nice to have warm weather.

grannyblt said...

Afternoon to you all.

Sorry I didn't stick around after I claimed the feather. My neighbor lost her house keys somewhere this morning so I had to get my set to her then run to the post office to get my tax info mailed to the CPA. Then washed the car and a grocery run. Of course it rained on the drive home, but at least some of the salt and road grime is gone.
Saw the BW bunch being fed a few minutes ago. Sad about the 3rd, but not really unexpected.
I'm ready for a hot cup of tea. Anyone care to jpoin me?

HAGD all.

Lolly said...

I'll be right over for the tea. No sugar, please and thank you.

Uh oh...Lori said the b word. Going to upset a lot of people. :)

Have been the grossssery store and now to do a little clean up around here. Know what you mean about the radio, Lori, quiet around here. Was fun yesterday having Laurel and Joseph here in the morning.

It is their spring break. I will be heading to Denton some time this week. Today Laurel is trying to complete unpacking all the boxes that are still in the garage. Joey still has to move all his tools and garage stuff.

Lynne2 said...

he hasn't moved his tools yet???

Lynne2 said...

I want some tea!

Steve has decided that he wants Ben and Jerry's Phish Food Ice Cream instead of cake! MMMMMMMMM! I WAS 5lbs down this AM, but oh well!

grannyblt said...

The water is boiling--I'm offering,
Rooibos Red
Chinese Oolong
Darjeeling
Earl Grey

I think I'll have the Oolong today.

Happy Birthday to Steve, hope this year is much better than last!

Lolly said...

Lynne, just control the amount of the ice cream. You will do fine!

Oh, we visited Ben and Jerry's in Vermont. I did not diet that day!!! :) OMG, first we tasted and then we had cones and I mean we had CONES!! They piled it on. lol
When we finally finished those cones we were full!

Lolly said...

Have not had many of those teas. Guess I will have Earl Grey!

Lolly said...

No, Lynne. They still need to move two pianos, a pool table, treadmill, all his tools and cabinets in the garage. He still has guitars on the wall and the freezer from the garage. He needs to get rid of one of the pianos.

He is going to hire someone to move the heaviest stuff, but has not scheduled it. There is only so much Laurel can do!!

stronghunter said...

Ohh, I'll have some Earl Gray, please! Still at the car place. Tea would be so lovely.

Lolly said...

FB is acting strange. Closed it down. Wish they would get it working correctly.

Off to clean a bathroom.

stronghunter said...

Good grief! Two pianos?

Sandi said...

Afternoon all - home from my Monday! Boy, is the wind ever howling at the nest!!! Rain is headed this way for tomorrow so I guess our eagles may be getting wet soon! Need to do some catching up - BRB!

Janet said...

good afternoon my friends!

CONGRATS GRANNYBLT on the feather! and in hatching week too!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE! ice cream sounds dandy to me!

Tea. I love tea. I actually watched a tv show on tea this morning...did NOT know that ALL tea , black, green, and oolong comes from one plant..not different plants. its in the preparation that makes it whatever type of tea that they market! inquiring minds! would have been more interesting if i had felt better.

livvy was home today, sick stomach. i hear her in there coughing now...oh no......

me? i went to the dr. he said, well you had the flu, and now its morphed into bronchitis. i am under orders that if i don't feel better by wed to get back in there before we have pneumonia. oh goodie. i am thinking positive. obviously, i didn't go to work today. will see how i feel tomorrow to be honest, as to what i do.

hope everyone is well.....hugs to all!

Back from an excellent ski. It was fast...some icy spots but mostly very manageable. I practiced the plough and down hill on a Cross Country Ski track and I did very well.

I hope we get some more snow out there and seeing as how it is really spring next week it will be wonderful to do some spring skiing. It was a bit windy and I only wore my fleece. My body did stay warm though and that was good...I kept moving.

Hoda said...

My friend Linda with whom I ski has the spot on her brain still. It is what resulted from the stroke three years ago. The good news is that it is not growing and it is not putting any pressure on other functional parts like sight and co-ordination and such. Too risky to surgically remove it so they will not do surgery. Just keep checking on it...

Hoda said...

Oh I have six shoots out now not only the four that I saw...I checked before I went skiing and there were only four and checked again after I came from skiing and there are six!!! My heart skips a beat this is so thrilling!!!

Judie, hope you enjoyed your spring break day. Washing windows - yup, it's that time of the year!

Lynne2, you may not like DST at 6am when it's still dark, but tell me you don't love that it's 6:30pm and it will still be light for another hour!

I see 2 eggs all alone in the nest!

1/3 of all mummies that were looked at they said they had hardening of the arteries and they didn't have fast food LOL Was just on the news

Hoda said...

I agree JUDYE it looks like Belle.
I also agree that there is low cloud cover or fog or something belwo the nest. It is not too clear. Out here we get low cloud cover and ice crystals that hang around for months on end...I do not think that happens back east though.
I do not know what it is! It is something for sure...it also sounds windy!!!

Hoda said...

The news about the mummies out here JUDYE said that they were likely upper class folks and that they are very rich food. It was not an argument to suppost the fast food industry I did not think.
Picked up on the Judge's ruling on sugary drinks in NY too...I think it is not the last we hear about it. They are banned in Denmark and in France...all the Red Bull Products.I wished Canada would ban them too!!!

Lolly said...

Judy, you have valuable poop there. Eagle poop facials are the thing! lol

Have been out working in the yard. I had to wait for afternoon so it was warmer. I think most of you are having warmer weather than us. It was 36 this morning.

Hoda said...

SHIRLEY and JUDIE I laughed at your posts in regards the soaps and the brownies...I am now using the lavendar bar of soap that came with the gift basket too and it smells pretty good.

JANET I think you are sweet about the kiddin' of hemp and hemp like products. I eat hemp with chia seeds for breakfast cereal. Hemp seeds are high on protein. I love the chia seeds too.

Oh during the yogathon one of the teachers, Jenna, said that the RCMP does yoga twice a week and that there is a very strong participation from the members, not only the office staff...actual officers are out there doing yoga. This made me happy. They also invite their retired members to join the class. So important to look after health...

JudyEddy said...

OH LOLLY Its already hardened do you think I could add water to it LOL to make it soft for my facial

Hoda said...

Good Lord LOLLY!!! 36 in Texas and 46 in Nelson, Canada??? Hard to believe!!!

Oh the health food store here washes their shopping baskets and carts. I did not know they did that but I saw them do that today!!!

Lolly said...

Shirley, yes, two pianos. We gave Laurel our piano 10 or so years ago. When Joey's mother died, Joey kept hers, sentimental reasons only! It is in bad shape, too. He needs to get rid of it!!!

Hoda said...

JUDYE take your truck to a car was so the poop can be removed so it would not leave a discoloured mark on your truck...

JudyEddy said...

already sprayed it off I almost have to do it daily because of all the bird poop at work Our parking lot looks like a beach with all the sea gulls there

I was saying until blogger cop got me

that a song came to mind with your comment of the seeds ♫ sittin here on that sack of seeds♫ as they drove off (Wildwood Weed song)but HODA eats them not planting them LOL Wildwood Weed song
I LOVE US

JudyEddy said...

Wildwood flower grew wild on the farm
And we never knowed what it was called
Some said it was a flower and some said it was a weed
I didn't give it much thought
One day I was out there talkin' to my brother
And I reached down for a weed to chew on
Things got fuzzy and things got blurry
And then ev'rything was gone
Didn't know what happened but I knew it beat the hell
Out of sniffing burlap

I come to and my brother was there and he said,
"What's wrong with your eyes?"
I said "I don't know, I was chewin' on the weed"
He said, "Let me give it a try"
We spent the rest of that day and most of that night tryin'
To find my brother Bill
Caught up with him about six o'clock the next mornin'
Naked, singing on the windmill
He said he flew up there
I had to fly up and get him down
He was about half crazy

The very next day we picked a bunch of them weeds
And put 'em in the sun to dry
Then we mashed 'em up and we cleaned 'em off
Put 'em in the corn cob pot
Smokin' them wildwood flowers got to be a habit
We never seen no harm
We thought it was kind-a handy
Take a trip and never leave the farm
Big 'ole puff of that wildwood weed next thing you know
You're just wand'ring 'round behind the little animals

All good things got to come to an end
It's the same with the wildwood weeds
One day this feller from Washington come by
And spied one and turned white as a sheet
And they dug and they burned
And they burned and they dug and they killed
All our cute little weeds and then they drove away
We just smiled and waved sittin' ther on that sack o' seeds

"Y'all come back now, y'hear!"

JudyEddy said...

I love that song

I laugh when I ever I sing it

Hoda said...

wash not was!!!

Hoda said...

Funny song JUDYE!!!

Lynne2 said...

LOL! I remember that song! I was about 12 and not really sure what it was but I thought the song was funny!

Hoda said...

Last summer when I came to visit Carol I was telling her I wanted some hemp hearts and chia seed for breakfast and she said they do not sell hemp in the health food store in Connecticut. Then I found it!!! So it is sold down there too. It is not like the hemp seed in the song it is more like hemp hearts.

Hello again,

After spending the afternoon in two car repair shops and running a variety of errands, I am tired. One shop is about 30 miles north of here, so I've been traveling. I do not like I-95, though I suppose we would have a real mess without it. Anyway my brakes no longer make that squealing sound.

stronghunter said...

Oh, haven't told you, but Pepsi is back.

Remember the tuxedo kitty that belongs to my neighbor Carla who had the fire? Pepsi was homeless and I was feeding him for awhile.

Carla came back and took Pepsi to a cat shelter for awhile, but he did not get along with the other cats, so she took him to her mother's.

Now he is back home. I saw him yesterday sitting happily on the front porch of his newly repaired home. So different from the day he was sitting on the porch of the burned hulk of a house.

Since I was walking Luna, I did not go over to see if Pepsi remembers me. He always shied away from me until the fire. He purred and rubbed all over me when I visited him and fed him after the fire.

Maybe he will let me pat him now.

Hoda, happy skiing again today!

Margy, did you get your friend/neighbor Lorraine all settled in yesterday?

Judy, have been following The Following, but sometimes I have to turn away from the TV. Did that a lot last night - not sure I'll stick with it.

Can't stay long, doing the morning shuffle at slow speed this morning...

In regards to Lorraine...my neighbor friend...

With all our best intentions and preparations, things did not go well, starting with a very challenging entrance into her apartment....the two steps, too high, she did not have the physical ability to do it well...
and nearly fell twice...
and she was not able to do anything at home, that she was able to do at the nursing home....
stand from a sitting position on any arrangement we tried, even with a rented wheelchair, cushions under the cushions on her couch, and an elevated toilet seat....
Tom my cooking neighbor was with us nearly all afternoon, we all 3 tried for hours to work things out.
In the end at 7:30, it was clear Lorraine was not able to be at home, she had increased weakness in her legs....
I had to call for an ambulance, she is back at the hospital....
I am not sure what the next development will be.....
It was the most discouraging and disheartening day...
Thanks for all the all the support and encouraging words, but it is just not to be yet....maybe never.

magpie said...

I guess what works at the nursing home just does not always work at home.

Best Wishes for a Good Day...

Looking wet at the nest this morning. I am not sure which parent is there. Mabye Belle?

stronghunter said...

Well, I think spring break is here for Mary Washington College. In my travels yesterday, I had to wait briefly for a shirtless young man with the words "Break 2013" written on his chest as he cavorted through the intersection by the college. He was dancing and shouting. Traffic just kind of came to a stop until he was safely on the sidewalk. Thank goodness for that.

Jo, you're the bestest wheezer I've ever met.♥

Margy, so very sorry the circumstances were not good for Lorraine. Did the hospital provide information on having an occupational therapist? When I was confined to bed, an OT came in and helped me learn how to navigate as the broken foot was non-weight-bearing. Just a thought.

Janet, maybe a return to the dr. would be good. Prevention if nothing else.

Yes, Wanda. We now know Hoda's secret to youth and endless energy.

Shirley, have a good bowling day and I do hope Pepsi will be friendly.

Okay, off to get some coffee. Then a few more minor kitchen chores (dust the ceiling fan, turn on the oven to clean itself, wash utensil trays, etc.) Plumber seems to have stopped the leak but the mess inspired me to clean up yesterday.

Good morning all.
This DST is playing anumber with me. I think it will take more than a week to get my inner clock adjusted.
Margy, so sorry things didn't work out with Lorraine. She may have become a bit frightened when she couldn't transfer as easily as she had in the nursing home and then it went from bad to worse. You, and Tom, were so wonderful to try to help her.
Off to check on nest. HAGD all.

Good Late Morning...

Seems like all I do is sleep lately...

Add the sickness on to the time change and I am in a complete FOG!

Hoping I can get through today without going back to bed. I am really geting behind in my work.

Just can't seem to shake this darn thing, though I do think the throat is a little bit better. Don't think I have had a sore throat for this long.....ever. Now I am dealing with the coughing... Ugh!

Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers! I know many of you are dealing with ailments that are lingering as well...

(((Hugs))) back at ya Glo!
Margy - you tried but I am so glad you used common sense to get Lorraine back to where she is safe & receiving the care she needs.

Shirley I am glad Pepsi is back home!!

Shirley, Just got an email from you that I don't think you actually sent - I think you have been hacked just like my son's account has been. Not sure what you should do. Wait and see if any of the others have received the email.....

Here's to rolling a 100+ today

Linda said...

GLO - Those ((((HUGS)))) sure felt good. We all need a good hug every now and then. I won't let Dennis near me because I don't want him to get sick, too.

JANET - I hope you can stay well rested and hydrated and away from work and outside responsibilities until you are cleared by the doctor to resume normal activities. You are sicker than you realize. Keeping you in my prayers...

JO - Happy to hear you are progressing well. Sorry to hear you won't be getting rid of the wheezing... We'll take a wheezing JO any ole time!! We love you wheezing or not!!

MARGY - So very sorry yesterday did not turn out as Lorraine and you had hoped. You have spent countless hours helping her while she was away, in the hospital, preparing things for her, and bringing her home. You are truly a gift from heaven and Lorraine (and us!!) is one very blessed lady to have you for a friend! You bring joy to so many lives everywhere you go.

SHIRLEY - Hoping today you break the 100 mark and get back to your better bowling days. It's sometimes mind over matter and maybe you're thinking too much! Neat that Pepsi is back!

Quick hi from school. Shirley, I also got an email from you that I suspect isn't from you!

My students have started asking when the eggs will hatch - the suspense is building!

LYNNE - Belated Birthday wishes to Steve. What a great day you two had Sunday with the pups! I am sure it did you both so much good to get out and enjoy the sunshine, nature and each other. Hoping the noise upstairs is dealt with soon, so you can enjoy your new place.

LORI - Math just makes sense! That is what I love about it!! I surely hope you get all the right answers in your studies. You will surely do well!! I have faith in you!

LORETTA - How wonderful to realize you were wrong about Sherry's visit!! So very happy you will have more time with her on this trip! I guess ignorance IS Bliss!!

HODA - You are one active lady...
I do not know how you continue to go and go like you do. I am exhausted just reading about what you do!! Oh yeah, it's what you eat!!

Looks like SHEP is tending the nest this morning...

Also looks like BWE needs to do some housekeeping in their nest!!

mid morning check in: looks wet at the nest.

yes, i think i am more ill than i wanted to admit. LINDA: sounds like you are pretty puny yourself.....rest and hydrate!

i have been doing some light housework. the up/down side to steroids ...they work well in reducing the inflammation/lung crud....but make you feel GREAT and HUNGRY too. so am pacing myself. but cat boxes had to be emptied, then of course, sweep the floors. (i hate cat litter on the floors!)....put away the laundry i washed yesterday....just piddly stuff. resting now.

i have been off of work for the better part of two weeks, i need to get back to it. now that i'm on meds...i'm in hopes of doing so.

olivia was out yesterday with a gut bug. talked to the office gal and she said they had 26 students and 6 teachers out with the same yesterday. she and i slept nearly all day.

it is so nice outside, in the 50's and the sun is out. i have the windows open. birds are singing.....such a nice change from the rain and snow of last week.

all righty friends, waiting waiting, waiting, just like you....come on eggs!

later!

Good morning, my friends of fine feathers and fur. Hope all is well with everyone. I had a nice visit with Andrew. It just didn't last long enough. Mattie helped drive on the way home on Sunday and did a superb job. Needs a little direction sometimes but all in all, she is coming right along.

Shirley, I also received an email from you and I am absolutely positively definitely sure it did not come from you -- unless you are now in the business of securing women for women. lol Wouldn't know what to do except upgrade firewall, etc.

Rain is slowing down so may go take some items to the cleaner and pick up some chicken for stir fry tonight.

Looks like Belle in the nest and looks like it stopped raining there.

SHIRLEY, I also got that email, but knew not to open the link. Just deleted it. Sorry this hassle is happening to you.

Lolly said...

Good morning1 (45 minutes of morning left here!) OMG...did we sleep late. This time change is really getting to us! Half the morning gone before we are out of bed.

Sorry to read about the rain at the nest. Please send it our way.

Margy, God bless you with your heart of gold. And, God bless Lorraine. It is heart wrenching when it comes to that time when they can not live in their home.

Lolly said...

Jack said we also received an email from Shirley. He deleted it. Also received an email from a friend here that he deleted. It was sorta funny, that email was also sent to Lands End.

Lolly said...

Has anyone inquired of Steve if this cam will zoom in? I know there has been some discussion of this but can not remember if Steve had confirmed that it will not zoom. That was so nice last year.

WV sUSAn said...

Shirley, I received that email, also. Did not open.

Lolly, I'm wondering, too, if Steve will zoom in this week. This is a brand new cam, right?? Surely, it has a zoom on it. I don't think I could see a pip at this distance and quality. :-(

To all who are having a time adjusting to DST... I have been waking up early for weeks so the time change has brought me right to where I've been all along. Funny how that works.

Mema Jo said...

To my knowledge I think Paula has already asked Steve about the zoom and his answer was "no"
I don't know how far back on the blog that was that Paula gave this answer.
Correct me if I am wrong ♥

Good afternoon!
Took off for the day to do doctor appointments with mom and dad. Down to Hopkins in the pouring rain! Whew was that a drive! Had a nice lunch at Cracker Barrel now home for maybe a little snooze and snuggle with the puppies. Then back off to another appointment with M&D. Staples were removed at Hopkins, 55 of them! Now we will see his regular oncologist and give a report. At this point no chemo is in the forecast. He "may" have it down the road 3 months or so, but doc wants his body to heal. They were given permission to go cruise if they so desire in about a month. Will follow up with CT of everything in 3 months!
God is good all the time! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support.

aaahhahahahahah We must be careful what we ask for. Someone has zoomed in on the nest and cut off Belle's head. I only know it's her because she was there a couple minutes ago.

Mema Jo said...

Well Well Well

Come on over and read Steve's

good news on the New Thread

See you there
