do believe PALMER was the 2010 lone baby...the only egg to survive after Belle & Lib built the second nest on top of the old snow-covered nest with 2 eggs that, of course, were not viable.
Hidey was the year before that and the year before that was Pearl, Middy and Tiny.
After Palmer, we had another bad season with too much now and ice in the nest, but one egg did survive, and that one we called POJ...Patty o Joy (or something like that:) Of course, last season, we had our two, Missy and Bro. I may have to make corrections, but this is how I remember it:)

Our company for the past few days FINALLY left! I felt very rude sitting in front of the computer while they were here but that's exactly what I wanted to do!
From Belle and Shep's behavior, whoever was in the nest is still in the area! Still lots of calling out!
I was in the middle of drafting a student's IEP when I was knocked off the IEP site (around the time that the juvie showed up in the nest). When I tried to log on again, I was prompted to create a new password. But, no matter how many times I tried, the site would not accept my new password. So I have been unable to work on the IEP which I really wanted to get written today! RATS!!

Dana, I'm trying to look at it that way, but I was really "in the zone" to knock this IEP out and now I can't! GGGRRR!!!
I'm feeling rather blue today that we go back tomorrow.
I was at school yesterday for a few hours and felt good getting things straightened out, but now I don't feel so ready.
Maybe it's because that dear little puppy died from the new litter. I think I have been upset since I read of it this morning.
Where has Shep taken off to? Think he's sitting on a branch we can't see?
Belle seems very calm and quiet. That and the fact that Shep flew off makes me think the coast is clear!

I agree Margy. Sounds like an eagle scraping its beak on a branch. Maybe our eagles will spend the night in the sycamore tree, keeping watch on their nest.

The puppy is from Warrior Canine Connection. They are the organization here in MD that has veterans training dogs to help veterans. It's an organization that I feel in love with in the spring and visited over the summer. There were 6 golden retriever pups who have started their training. A winter litter was born on Friday. There were 7 yellow labradors and the littlest died this morning. I haven't seen any more posts so I don't know if they have found out the cause of his death. He was the underdog and I really felt attached to him already! So sad. But there are 6 others who I will hopefully get to go see in about a week or so.
I thought I heard something in the branches too. Must be up high above the cam.

What a day of excitement watching Belle and Shep and the juvie visitor!! Sorry I missed the fun!!
Have been trying to figure out a new portable drive and back up for the better part of the day today. Ugh!!
Then I found out my laptop is broken where the plug goes, and it is just about out of juice!! Dennis is taking it apart right now and I fear I may lose that data for good. I should have backed up that computer first!!
I posted this morning on the other thread long after there was a new one! Oh well!!

Oh, saw 2 huge fields filled with snow geese on the way home today.
Also, saw 2 eagles...one perched near its nest...and the other was flying over the road. Nice ride home!
Paula, Brian has asked us to keep the dogs for a MONTH while Lynnis stays in a hotel (he's headed back to Tanzania on the 7th for 2 months). It will allow her to more easily look for a job in northern VA and they want to get the wood floors refinished and the inside of the house painted before they get their furniture out of storage and move back into the house in WV.
As much as I want to help them out, I really hope we don't have the dogs for the whole month. They're not bad but 4 is a lot more work than 2, esp. when we don't have a fenced yard that allows us to just open a door and let them out to go to the bathroom.
And speaking of the dogs, I need to get them fed and then find something for Denny and I to eat. I probably won't check in any more tonight so I'll say goodnight now!
I'll try to check in from school in the AM.

and she just snuggled her chest back down on it I love it when they do that and she is almost laying on the fish that was left off to the side of the bowl she has her tail almost on it now she is back up looking down must be lots of wiggling

That was one very interesting looking juvie! I don't think I have ever seen one like that. You can definitely see that the body is almost all brown, but the white is still not there yet! So amazing!
I believe the Outdoor Channel closing their Community area is just the forums as the Eagle Cam is under their Conservation area of their website.
I agree with Lynne that they wouldn't shut down the cam after just starting it up again. Since it has been off for so long, if they were going to get rid of it, they would not have started it up in the last day!!

I just loved the marking on the head of the eagle sooooo pretty I think handsome did anyone notice if male or female I didn't get a good look at the eyes from the pictures
I went over to the forum and it does say community after you are on it I can't see what they say I guess since I am not a member or can't find anything if they have a clue I notice that have lots of pictures and last year they had great pictures of all the happening at the nest will be sad to see all that go I have it saved in my favs from last year
I feel sorry for all that have bonded on that site That is sort of sad :-(

Judy - That is kind of you to comment about the friendships made on the OC Forum. Like the email said, they can create a FB page or some sort of blog to comment on like we do. Hopefully they will find a solution that works for them!

Extremely happy to report that my Dubby has fixed my laptop!!
He had it in a gazillion pieces on my kitchen table. Teeny tiny screws everywhere! I was scared he would never get it all back together, but he did. He rigged it so I can plug in the power cord again. I quickly backed up my important files and am ready for work in the morning!!

The blog family has made it through the first day of the new year and the nest has been successfully guarded by Belle and Shep. Uppity little juvie needs to find a better outdoor dining patio!
Tomorrow I must begin preparation for the Spring semester. Will have to devote some attention to lecture schedules and to reading some criminal stuff -- sadly I must include the Sandy Hook shooting.
Meanwhile, the sandperson is impatient to begin rounds and to make sure everyone has a share of sleepy dust. Restful sleep for all and, again, happy and healthy 2013.

I had to read the notice from Outdoor twice - Community means all the forums - they suggest you use FB or Twitter.
FB page is not like a blog for just the eagles - it is for all the hunting and fishing ones also.
I hope those on the Eagle forum set up there own blog site. Someone should have the IT knowledge. They have bonded just as we have.

Lolly, WHAT DRAMA???
OK those closer to me....looking for a chair for Steve. Can't spend too much, used is fine, worn is fine, as long as it's clean. Prefer a working recliner. Doesn't need to be fancy at all. We opted to NOT bring the loveseat with us when we moved because of our being down stairs and it was a sleeper so extremely heavy. OOOPSS! Who could have known! Steve's been in the glider rocker which is OK, but not the most comfy and he's got 10 more weeks of needing to be mostly inactive and keeping leg elevated.
Lynn, have you tried Goodwill? Salvation Army store?

I was referring to the nest drama. No drama for us. Well there was a little concerning a potty overflow. Nasty water on to carpet!!!! Yuck! It put Laurel over the edge. Please say a prayer for her. Down sizing is not easy! Why did they put carpet in a bathroom??? They will put down tile maybe at spring break.
Totally exhausted tonight. Yesterday I made chili and cornbread for our dinner tonight. Taking cans of stew for tomorrow.
Our backs ache...every muscle hurts! We are pushing the limits, but we will survive!!

Good morning from school my eagle friends! Just got the live cam up at school and there are our 2 eagles. Funny, here at school, I can only get the image to load when I click on the pop-up, just like Judy. My school computer is running Windows XP and I'm running Windows 7 at home - wonder if that's the difference.
Oh well, kids will be coming down the hallway in a few but it will be great that I can have the live cam up on my Smartboard to show them.

Good morning everyone. Gorgeous but cold as in 9 degrees sun shiny day here. I am off to the grocery store now that folks have gone back to work LOL. Dex has given me his list and I even have a small one of my own. I will find some cam time when I get back UNLESS I head over to the dam. Haven't decided. I would like it to warm just a little as there is some wind chill happening too br-r-r-r-

good morning to all. i slept in again this morning. client still sick ....the wife this time. the other still in florida. so another lazy day for me. i must move around more today! lol.
i have errands to run and outside decorations to take down. so we will get some stuff done. and sigh, yes, i was say the nasty word, start to organize my tax files for my accountant .... i'd like to get it done quickly and be finished!
i have some brochures to print today...i have a business meeting @ 4 tomorrow.
so the day is rolling. felt good to sleep in...but i'm telling ya, 6 a.m. tomorrow won't feel very good, lol.

Wow, I slept in big time today. Just could not sleep last night.
Getting a lovely view of the empty nest, but it keeps going to the twirling arrow within a minute or so, then back to live view. Odd.
