Good morning everyone. Dex and I are off to the grocery. We went to the Marina yesterday looking for you know what. Not yet :-( but hopefully soon :-). So happy to read some good health news. Prayers now that Michael will get the right living arrangements upon his upcoming discharge for everyone concerned. MeMa Jo's Dr's appt is today.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Beautiful but very windy day here, as was yesterday. It is raining pecans. lol But, it is also raining leaves. groan.... So, out to mow and mulch leaves today. Expecting a front and rain on Sunday evening with a big drop in temps.

Guess, they are hammering away at Shirley's again today.

Janet, so sorry about the school incident! Joseph is loving middle school. My two loved it, too, when that age. Laurel was also shy, but I always encouraged her to not play the games girls play and she didn't. She found her good friends and was happy. What is funny is a lot of kids thought she was a snob. She was tall, beautiful, and shy!!!

Lolly said...

Glo, I saw something about Jo's appointment being changed. Not sure....think I missed a post.

Scratch Dex behind the ears for me!

Lolly said...

I am off to start my day...have a good one!!♥

glo said...

Lolly I think the change was from Thurs to Fri UNLESS there has been another change.

JudyEddy said...

Anyone wants to see another eagle and no its not cheating LOL there is one at Sequoyah just got out of the shower and she is still there
The sooner nest no eagle has been spotted since last month they think they may be nesting in the tower instead of the dead tree

Sandi said...

Checking in from school to find a new thread. Thanks Steve and thanks to Judy for the call over.

Glo and Lolly, Jo reported that her appt. is now on Monday, the 12th.

Boring meeting this morning but hoping to be super productive this afternoon - I'm even having a working lunch. OK, gotta run!

Good morning again from the new thread!

Lolly said...

Thanks, Sandi! Enjoy in-service. LOL Yes, it is a break from kiddos, but I am sure there is more that you would rather be working on.

glo said...

Well I am glad MeMa Jo still has an appt. To be honest I am frustrated that the date keeps changing. I want that thing OUT OF THERE 3 weeks ago. JMHO sigh...

JudyEddy said...

JudyEddy said...

No snow here today even though they kept telling us of a big storm...nothing!!! Nada and I am not complaining.

Yes JO posted appointment moved to November 12th. Thanks SANDI for clearing it up.

All is well here and we are working on African dinner and getting excited that the tickets are moving so well.

Sad to see the funeral of the two little boys who got swept away by Hurricane Sandy...heartbreaking.

Mema Jo said...

Good evening - I was up and out early this morning. Spent some time at Kernan with Christine and Patrick and my hubby.
The 20th is now Michael's discharge date. The weather was beautiful and should stay that way for a couple of days. BBL

NCSuzan said...

Good Evening! Wow, the comments are getting punier and punier!

Jordan Lake is instaling new cams with night vision. Soon to be ready because they are anticipating eggs the middle of December!

Also Turtle Bay, which used to be Caltrans, also installed cams this year and should be available Dec. 1, I think they said.
It's so very exciting to see Eagle season beginning in some places.

Now if I can just make it to January when Downton Abbey comes back to the US.....

Hoda said...

NCSuzan...Great reviews in England on Downtown Abby. You will love the season...

JudyEddy said...

WOW 23 comments in a 12 hour period

NCSuzan said...

Hoda, that's great to hear. The storylines and the costumes are certainly a good way to pass those winter evenings.

Mema Jo said...

I have watched my Mystery Theater - I really do enjoy the English films. You can never guess 'who done it' - it is
usually a surprise.

I am calling it a day. Good weather for tomorrow.. Prayers for all

Our family Friday was minus Jayden and had an additional Dustin, plus Denise, Brandon and Karla,
GG was in such a wonderful mood, the girls couln't believe how much she has changed! She still has pain, but her mood is so much better...anti-depressant is definitely working for her!
Dustin is still going to Fire Academy and is also a High School Senior and will graduate in May! Where did the time go?
Dustin had chest pains and was very agitated after Fire Class a few days ago. Karla was near the Fire Station, so she took him there, put him in an ambulance and give him an EKG and some oxygen, one of the EMTs ran an IV line into him and off to the hospital they went with lights and sirens blasting. He was given all sorts of tests and could not find the problem. They are concerned about any heart damage that he had when he was at Charlottesville Hospital with LYMES DISEASE. An echocardigram will be in the making next week, MTBR

Gene and I will be headed to church in the morning to start preparing for the Church's Thanksgiving dinner, this Sunday.
Need plenty sleep to get that job done!
GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS
LOVE AND PRAYERS FOR ALL♥

Hoda said...

Goodnight

Lolly said...

Wanda, our church is having Thanksgiving dinner Sunday, too. I will be up early Sunday making my sweet potato dish.

Off to see Joseph's soccer game tomorrow, but we do not have to get up early as game is at 1:30,

Glad GG is doing so well, but hate to hear about Dustin having problems.

Time to call it a day. Night all!

SED!!!!

paula eagleholic said...

No don't like to hear about Dustin either...glad it is getting checked out

Good that Michaels discharge date has been moved back

Got lots of tractor m.arks in the yard :(

Had some high water this week here too...have to fix end of path to the beach

Very still here tonight...think tom will be pretty

Gonna hit it

Sed love and hugs for all :)

T-Bird said...

Buddy got me up way to early this morning. I don't know what is wrong with his schedule.??

DanaMo said...

Good morning. I am up for now, but really am thinking that I will go back to bed. Monte is heading out on a Boy Scout hike to Old Rag and I just might go back to bed after he leaves.

Lori O. said...

Well Hello early birds Dana and Thelma!

I got up at 2...this time change is messing with all of us!

Sandi said...

Good Saturday morning Thelma, Dana, and all my eagle friends!

Got caught up on a lot of paperwork yesterday without kids at school. Still have an IEP to write over this weekend but at least it's a 3-day one (off Monday for Veteran's Day). Decided not to go to Balto. - Mom is doing OK and Lisa is OK with checking in on her. Our mayor has someone from FEMA (who issues our flood policies) and the DE Insurance Commissioner coming to South Bethany today to meet with people who have been denied coverage for their flood damage. I really want to be there to make my case.

Happy to hear that Michael's discharge date has been moved to the 20th - the more time he has at Kernan, the better!

Wanda, great news about GG but very scary about Dustin! Did the lyme go a long time undiagnosed, since the docs suspect possible damage to his heart?

Good morning to Lori, who just checked in!

Make it a great day all!

Sandi said...

Forgot to say hooray to Shirley for getting the outside of the house back to normal! =)

Paula, glad there wasn't any damage to the house from the nor'easter!

Paula, our Lynn ♥ would surely say you are a Whirling Dervish with all the work you are doing there at The Paradise...

that expression also applies to many more here: including Sandi!

Hope all the aftermath cleanup and restoration goes well

magpie said...

T-Bird..it does kind of seem that Buddy's internal clocks did not change last week !

Hope he gets in the groove pretty soon and your sleep schedule returns to normal

Janet said...

good Saturday morning to all!

shirley: great news about the siding!

just did a quick read and it sounds like everyone is doing okay this morning.

glad it is saturday. i was so tired yesterday.... and i am especially thankful for the massage that i am receiving at noon today! when i teach class on the weekend, i work 9 to 12 days straight, depending on private clients and such. and i try to get a massage at the end of that to work out the kinks....

yesterday was a better day for olivia. thankfully, she only sees this particular child 2x a day. homeroom and either pe/recess. recess i think. the latter are two separate events. anyway, the child was calling olivia a snitch. i said to livvy, well if she had not put her hands on you, there would have been nothing to snitch would there? i do worry about it. kids can be very mean. and that is what concerns me.

tom thinks olivia should fight back once and for all and be done with it. stand up for herself. and while, yes, i can see that point, i worry about the u tube crap you see, with kids ganging up on each other, using weapons and such. olivia is very sweet, not very savvy to those kinds of things.....

she hangs with her buddies, devonna and poni. and so she has friends and for the most part seems be doing okay. being shy, and very quiet, yes, i suppose she is thought of as a snob, perhaps. her main comment is most kids won't give me a chance because i'm white.

but, like i tell her , the number of friends you have isn't what's important, its the quality.

like i said, middle school sucks. if you aren't in the popular group....if you aren't an athlete, prom queen, etc....well, its tough. but we all live thru it don't we? i mean, she doesn't come home upset/sad etc every day, but it just ticks me off when she does. it especially ticks me off for reasons as such, someone putting their hands on my child.

we have to deal with all kinds in life, don't we? and i tell her this. not everyone whom you meet will be nice.

anyway, so, i have a busy day planned. heading to wally world in a few to get some paint to paint my kitchen! i want it done prior to thanksgiving!!!!

i am going to do some on line shopping. hopefully 95% of my holiday shopping will be complete this week.

i hope those cams come in soon. i am thinking bout belle and shep and wondering about them ....

hope everyone has a great day. its so nice here, 48 and going to about 70 today.

hey, quick question: i have my summer birds STILL in my birdhouses. ??????? normally i take the birdhouses down and clean them in october, but they are still in there! i see them going in and out????? anyone else ever experience this?

later ya'll. hugs, light and love

magpie said...

What kind of summer birds, Janet....
some like bluebirds and goldfinches stay around..or at least I am still seeing them...
and some summer birds like Robins also overwinter.
Maybe they just Love your place and do not want to leave
Others here will give a better answer, probably....

xo Have a Good Day !
Best wishes on all things working out for Olivia...beautiful name, by the way !

Judie said...

Well, for cryin' out tears! Woke up yesterday morning to the sound of banging and hammering to just deafen a person. Finally called a news station. Seems there was some serious home repair work down Shirley's way. Quieter this morning.

Thoughts and positive wishes for all who are in the process of cleaning up property and those who have family concerns.

Wanda, so happy GG is showing significant improvement and that Family Friday was good fun. Sorry, however, about Dustin and wish him a quick diagnosis and recovery.

Margy is correct -- Miracle Michael. An amazing example of the family spirit and determination.

Jo, will be thinking of you on Monday.

Margy, maybe after you get your roost back in order -- a visit with Tom Sweetie?

Hoda, I've heard you were in need of the sandperson. I'll see if he can return if still needed.

Wishing everyone a wonderful, sun-filled weekend.

JANET I do not agree with TOM on OLIVIA duking it out with the bullies!!! She will become more of a target and they in a warped way will feel victimized and blame her. Keep the school administrators aprised of the situation and work with her to stay confident with her own self esteem. Yes middle school is tough and yes kids can be mean!!! They are kids however and they could be pushed back to their place. Sorry it is happening to Olivia.

PRAYERS for all who are working on issues.

PAULA glad the cleaning is going well.

I found the most amazing Toscan Kale at the health food store and I am going to make KALE CHIPS this weekend. Delicious.

Very cold here. I am wearing my woolies and it still cuts through me when I do not have my coat zipped up...
Snow on the mountains make the wind cutting cold.

Home from Springfield. Mom's vitals are all pretty good. She is comfortable but she doesn't look so good bless her heart. She has a fractured vertebrae so is in a collar and her whole right side of her face is tremendously swollen and black and blue. She did respond to me when I got there and when I left. I saw her follow commands to take a couple of pills and eat a few bites of a muffin and rink
a little ensure. The bleeding in the brain area has stopped. She has to get past the threat of blood clots as the blood re absorbs itself. Once that happens I think she will make a good recovery. I may head back in a few days . Thanks for the prayers everyone. Oh and my car behaved. Dex of course is an awesome traveler so that was never an issue. V for a while.

magpie said...

Dear Glo...that sounds like a serious fall....sounds as though she has already gotten good care and for sure, your being there must have been a real boost....

Margy, you've been doing ungardening you say. I guess you mean at the Apt. I've been almost ready to do the same, except most of the flower pots have flowers and some leaves! I can't bear to throw them out yet until they get brown. Do have to repot a couple perrenials----2 blue salvias in the same pot! Never thought they would get so big!
Talked to daughter in TX and she had jury duty for 2 days and became foreman! Small trial, only 6jurors. Was for DUI. Guy had refused the breath tests and the other tests on the dash cam video looked OK. Jury concluded not guilty as State didn't prove the charges even if he was impaired. Judge agreed!

Paula, how wonderful you found a baby terrapin!!! Film at 11 Sunday??
Time to say Good Health Prayers for Dana's Dad, Michael, Jo and all others in need ☺ ♥ and
Special Feather Dreams ;>)

magpie said...

Just about Good Night from here also.
Neato, Paula about the Terrapin...
right place, right time, that's YOU.
Bet Nick was pretty excited about it too !
Watched " A Walk in the Clouds " with Keanu Reees...nuthin' like a little love story to take one's mind off things for a bit ♥

Keep those flowers going long as you can, Loretta...
and Shirley, hope you get the computer things all fixed up, Pronto!

Prayers for Wellness All Around...

late good evening folks.

MAGPIE; these are just normal house wrens. nothing fancy or special. i like to watch them and their families, but i don't remember them ever staying in their homes this long....its waaayyy too late for babies. but they keep going in and out of the homes. odd to say the least.

HODA: THANK YOU. you know it is just tough raising kids. i don't want her duking it out.....i don't know. the whole thing just bothers me. now, mind you, if she is backed into a corner and needs to defend herself, she remembers some hapkido moves and i have always told her to use them and if she uses them do what she has to do, disable that person and get away and get help. get a teacher/administrator, etc.

its been a busy day. i started painting my kitchen. there isn't a lot to paint, but had to put two coats of kilnz down first. i will have some time Tuesday and wed hopefully to complete the job.

Hitting the shower and then getting comfy/cozy with my pillows and blankets. Good night, ya'll.

JANET I just read your post. Defending herself if physically attacked and she can not walk away from it is kosher! I am starting a prayer chain for Olivia that she be well and not feel she is what the bullys say...walk strong Olivia walk strong girl!

It was good to see JUDIE'S posts on here today...know she is busy with other things these days, but do miss seeing her comments~

GG was still in her PARTY MOOD today, she said if she felt just a little bit better, she would do a little dance for us:) She said she ENJOYED herself so much last evening, that she hasn't enjoyed herself so much in a long time! That was heavenly music to my ears!
I told her that I thought her good moods was due to a new pill for depression and she said "well, whatever it is, please keep giving it to me"! God is good!

We got the turkeys all cooked and meat off of the bones, white separated from the dark and a very light gravy poured over it all to keep it moist and tasty. All skin and fatty pieces are up in our woods for the animals. Haven't fed them in a while...hope we get some Trail Cam photos:)
Loretta's FOX is so beautiful, seems to be a larger specimen than ours.

Heading back to the church kitchen in the morning to slice pies and cakes for dessert. All this work for the meal, and Gene and I won't be able to enjoy it...We are going to a friends 50th anniversary party at the same time as the church dinner~
Need more sleep for some stamina;)

GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS, SLEEP WELL, PRAYERS AND LOVE FOR ALL♥

So nice to see JUDIE on here!

Wish we would hear from LINDA & LYNNE2.

Going to be a nice day around these parts - close to 70! HODA, so glad you didn't get the snow!

SANDI, how did it go yesterday with the FEMA people?

WANDA, so nice of you and Gene to cook the church dinner.

LOLLY, enjoy your church dinner today. Wish I was 1/8 the cook that you & WANDA are!

Glo, sounds like your mom-in-law must have had some fall! Prayers and positive energy that she recovers slowly but surely!

Janet, middle schoolers can be ugly and middle school GIRLS are the worst! I understand parents telling their kids to defend themselves with physical force, but if the school has a zero tolerance policy for fighting, the person defending himself/herself can also get suspended. Tough for parents to know their child is being bullied and to offer the right advice.

Love my new binoculars - images are so much crisper and brighter than with my old ones. Plus the new ones are lighter to carry and have a nice wide neck strap (they also came with a harness but I didn't try it out yesterday). I saw lots of birds, which did my heart good, but couldn't go to the eagle nest b/c it's deer firearm season and hunting is allowed on the wildlife refuge property (how can that be? Seems wrong to call a place a wildlife refuge and then allow folks to hunt there!!)

School work and grocery shopping for me today. Plus the flood insurance adjuster will be here this morning to tell us the same thing we were told at yesterday's meeting - very little damage below the first elevated living floor (10 feet above the ground) is covered by our flood insurance. But at least we'll find out what little bit IS covered. Again, what a scam this flood insurance is!!

Make it a great day all - hope I can get outside again for a bit - it's supposed to be beautiful today!

The Southern Delegation has a beautiful sunrise this morning. I also enjoyed seeing the crescent moon.

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING LADIES...
Now that we have so many of our trees cut down, I too, can see the crescent moon, Thelma. Before, we could not see it until it was high in the sky. I love being able to see the sky, now, but miss the pretty, graceful spruce trees...I do not miss the mess their dropped needles made all over our patio and sidewalk. Not to mention the needles all over our deck and in our food when we ate outdoors!

Heading back to church this morning to cut the pies and cakes that are brought to share after the dinner. Do you have any idea how hard it is to have your hands on so many magnificient desserts and not be able to eat them?!:(
This is the meal that, if anything is left over, goes to the Soup Kitchen. Last year, we had enough that we didn't have to cook anything...just heat up the turkey and fixings:)

Time to get ready. HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY AND A BEATIFUL DAY♥

magpie said...

Oh Joy...the crescent Moon...and if you saw that bright object to its left...that was Venus, the Planet of L♥ve...

Good morning everyone. 70 yesterday and light snow in the forecast tonight. I am off to a slow start. No news from my niece re my MIL but I will talk with her later today. Had a lot of trouble going to sleep last night but as I unwind a bit I will relax and my guess is both Dex and i shall have an afternoon nap on the sofa :-). Prayers for all making their way through recovery and the storms of life.

Mema Jo said...

Good late Sunday morning to all my friends. Hello Lynne! I surely hope that some of your missing animal postings help in finding those critters!
I am glad you heard all of the Momsters hollering for you.

Wanda - wonderful about GG and maybe I
will need one of her pills if it means dancing! Hope we get a report on Dustin from you soon. Enjoy the wedding anniversary celebration for your friends.

Loretta - I took time and looked at all your Nook pictures. They are so beautiful - enjoyed seeing the pheasant that Greg didn't see! lol

Mema Jo said...

Margy - you have an afternoon of good weather to share time with James. Enjoy

Paula - the turtle was so small - I am so thankful you found him and saved him
I bet you were cautious thinking there could be more - he was a cutie!

Hoda - Miss you when I am not on here as often as I would like to be chatting with you. There is an Alpaca show close by - I wonder how much they charge for their socks. A pretty penny I suppose.

Mema Jo said...

Janet - My heart goes out to Olivia with the bullying at school. Most schools up here are really addressing the 'bullying' situation. Good part is asking for peers to help peers.

Shirley - when is it Open House? I sure hope you find a 'rail guy'

Sandi, I am glad your mom is 'walking tall' She sure is a trooper. Happy you took time to go bird watching. Sorry Fema isn't able to help out - I agree with the Flood Insurance coverage.

Mema Jo said...

Thelma - just face it - You are an Early Bird and it isn't Buddy's doing.
It is great to greet each day just like you do - Cheerful and grateful!

Lolly - loved the pic of you and your favorite Goalie! And also of you and your 3 grandsons!

I will bbl - Need some sunshine

Good afternoon! Tummy is full of turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, all the sides as well as pecan pie. Oh my!!! Had a great turn out at church to celebrate veterans, commitments, and Thanksgiving.

We are heading to Dallas shortly. Michael, or I should say, Zach called this morning. As usual, apologized for not calling sooner. Anyway, we are headed to Dallas to see the game and play with Zach.

Wow! Lynne, finally heard our yelling. Lynne, very cool that you spotted an eagle!

Have a great day....we will be home late tonight. I am upset as the front has moved through here and we did not get the rain they predicted. It is all east of us.
Curse words!!

Later Gators!!♥

Awesome visit from Zacharoo...well done young man.

Great to see LYNNE on here. Thank you LYNNE

Would like to see LINDA and C/A

JO yes Alpaca wool costs a penny and a half. I have some great socks this year. I went with the smartwool socks and I am very very very happy with them. They are well worth it.

Reading a terrific book. Spent the day in reflection and when I was finished I picked up a book called Abandon by Pico Iyer...weaves in who the Sufis are within a love story. Good read.

Blessed Armistice Day to one and all. Too bad the war to end all wars has not happened. I think of the old veterans. Canada no longer has any WWI veterans alive. The last one died last year. We are losing on average 500 WWII veterans a week...sad to see them go...Blessings on them all.

Very productive weekend at Paradise...got all the debris out of the yard, and fixed the roof (I hope) today. Need to put a good shingled roof on over the add on room that faces the road.

Long, but good drive home. Had John's truck, so had to take it back to his MIL's house in Gettysburg.

Missed the Good Wife, will have to watch it online.

Glad Lolly and Margy got some kid time today. Nice to see Zacharooski here!
