We are home!

Margy, thank you so very much for talking with Zach. He was so cute trying to tell me what he wanted to do. (blog) It took me a while to figure it out. Then I just knew no one would be on. But, I was wrong. He was doing his own typing. He wanted to do it in all caps. Also, he could read the blog just fine. The boy is so smart! Won't be 7 until Feb 1.

He is in first grade. There are 9 children in his class, 2 first graders and the rest second grade. Each child has his individual curriculum at his own level, and each child gets the individual help he needs. They are really pleased with his school. He is hyper and was definitely hyper and excited because we were there. The school also goes through high school and is considered college preparatory.

Anyway, he was so excited to talk with you. He was especially drawn to your name..Magpie.

Time for bed. Very very tired!

Night all! SED

Good morning Eagle friends!!! I cannot believe that it is Monday already. The auction was held last night, I didn't get to attend, but Monte did. The class quilt went for $575 and the little girl is in my class whose grandmother purchased it. She was so thrilled when her mom brought it home to her. Many people don't know it, but she will be leaving Hagerstown at the end of the year so I think it's really special that she will have that awesome remembrance from St. Marys.
Need to read back.
As many on FB know, Monte bought me a new computer yesterday and it has Windows 8. Taking some getting used to but feeling a little better about it this morning.

Lori O. said...

WOW, DANA, that's GREAT! You're quilt so for a high price, YAY, and Monte got you a new computer. You must have been a very good girl! ;) Good for you!

ooops, should be your, not you're! fumble fingers this morning.

Poor WANDA, a double face plant last night. Understandable after cooking that dinner, cutting the desserts and going to a party! Hope you had fun.

Janet said...

good morning all. sleepy Monday morning.

hope everyone had a good weekend. i scanned through....

it was as per the usual busy around here.....sat morning i ran to the walmart, then in the early afternoon, i had a massage (recieved), and then as promised took olivia shopping for her "nerd"outfit for school.....then finally, about 5 p.m. got down to working on my kitchen i want it painted before thanksgiving. (best get busy, huh?)

went to bed late.....got up early yesterday.

we ran up to my folk's place in kentucky; the one judy and i have been trying to get our oldest sister to sell. i won't go into a lot of boring details, but it is in sad shape. but the most difficult part for me, i identified this last night as i was trying to sleep, and had a difficult time with that, was feeling like a trespasser on my folk's property. i think that really bothered me deep down.

very sad.

anyway, bowling was good last night. we lost, but i had a decent night. better than my average.

so need to put this coffee in my body and get on with my day. hope eveyrone has a great day. thinking of each of you....hoping for a great day....light and love to all.

JudyEddy said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds

and sis The property was willed to all three of us so don't feel like you were trespassing Please. I was in the shower when you called last nite and didn't notice the answering machine blinking till just now would have been nice talking to you again without the bowling ground in the background How did you bowl by the way talking on the phone could be your excuse for not doing good LOL

JudyEddy said...

Wow DANA that is fantastic news on the quilt

Wanda, so glad GG is responding so well to the medication. Usually takes a couple/three weeks. Now, need to think of Dustin. Wonder how the Cyr family is doing?

Happy Birthday Suzan.

Congratulations on the sale of the quilt, Dana. Yes, it will be a special reminder of St. Mary's and you.

Glo, more prayers for your MIL. Sorry about the rough night.

Dana, that is great about the sale of the quilt. How does that compare to last year's quilt?

Judie, it warms the heart to see you sticking your face in here. Keep it up!

Annie continues to hang in there. She has days of not eating and throwing up. I have decided she is very deaf! Bless her heart! When she is sitting outside and I want to call her in, I have to get very loud to get her attention. Laurel now calls her the cat that lives forever!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I appreciate them more than you know.

Thinking of Jo this afternoon.

Sandi said...

Good afternoon all!

Got to play tennis outdoors this morning - it was sunny and beautiful! Woohoo!

Worked a little in the garden, cutting back perennials, and then washed the flood debris off the interior doors (had to leave it there til the adjuster came out so he could see how high the water was). Denny is at Home Depot picking up insulation and Azek - the rebuild on the Roberts house starts tomorrow!! =)

Still no definite word on Denny's work van. State Farm towed it to the dealership for repair but a mechanic from the dealership called to say they can see from watermarks that the water came up 19 inches under the van and they're not sure it should be repaired rather than totaled. The insurance adjuster is supposed to call this evening and Denny is going to demand something in writing that states no salt water got into the engine or the electronics and State Farm will guarantee the repair. Insurance companies - GRRR!!!!!

Clouding up here but still warm. Rain is forecast for tomorrow and falling temps.

Thinking about our Jo and hoping she is getting a plan of action for getting rid of that spot!

Need to think about dinner for people and pets. Later all!

Sadly we were all hoping Mom might pull through this. We wanted a family celebration of her 93rd birthday on 12 /12/ 12. She has not had a good day. She is now in hospice care and from past experience most of us know this means days weeks or the nurse said maybe up to a month. They will keep her comfortable. My niece has gone home to get some rest and folks from her church are staying with "mom/grandma" for a while today. Thanks for prayers for moms comfort and the family's peace.

Certainly will be praying Glo.

I would love to hear from Mema Jo with some really awesome news!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NCSUZAN and many many more

Came on to see if JO checked in yet and did not find her. Spent most of the day putting her in my prayers and in the LIGHT. Hoping to hear from her when she is ready. LOVE YOU MEMA JO.

DANA congratulations on the quilt it is some awesome and I agree with you as to how it is a keepsake for the child who got it.
Blessings.

sUSAn has not been on for a long time either...anyone hear from her?

It was great to read Zack's posts yesterday LOLLY.I am glad you understood what he wanted and that you were able to accommodate him. Awesome that MARGY was on...MAGPIE he related well to MAGPIE...

I slept really well and woke up to SNOW!!! After I made lentil soup for lunch I went out to clear my car...it is exciting to have the first snow of the year. Speaks of snow for the next couple of days too...

Did you finally get some sleep JUDYE? I slept well but woke up rather early...Solar eclipse on the 14th and who knows how all those energies affect us mere humans.

Hoda said...

GLO I have been praying for your MOM and you since you wrote the news...glad of hospice even though she would rather be in her own place. They do good work in hospice...she will be well cared for.

Lolly said...

Glo! Prayers for comfort and peace for sure. What a long life she has had, almost 93. Hospice is wonderful, they helped so very much with my mother.

Yea, Sandi...on the repairs about to begin! Boo hiss...on the van and insurance!

Yes, waiting to hear from Jo.

House is vacuumed, mopped, dusted, decluttered, bathrooms scrubbed, laundry done....on a roll!! About time to slow down and have a cool glass of wine before starting dinner. Tonight something lite, very lite!! Yesterday's thanksgiving dinner at church and then dinner at Michael's about did me in!!!

Was supposed to have reached the 60's today, but 53 is our high. Down into the 30's tonight.

Lolly said...

Hope you read my post, Hoda. House is clean....come on down!

Lolly said...

Whoops! And, I let NCSuzan's birthday slip up on me!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUZAN!!! HOPE YOU HAVE HAD A GLORIOUS DAY!

Hoda said...

Oh how tempting it is LOLLY!!! We have today's weather for the next couple of days and it is only November. I have a friend in Australia and he posted today it is 25 celcius,75 F, and he was in shorts at 9:00 AM!!!
There is a term in Canada "SNOWBIRDS" it is all the Canadians that head down south when it starts shutting in up here...I always said that I would not become one before I am 80!!! The old bones will want some warmer weather by then!!! LOL!!! 16 years to go!!!

Hoda said...

SANDI is expecting some more bad weather and she posted on FB she is not pleased. Is thinking of building and Ark!!!
JO commented on her post with support. Love you JO.

Hoda said...

25 here tonight LOLLY!!! It is the time of year!!!

Mema Jo said...

Well that was a 2 hr appointment
Dr will use the radiation treatment with the Cyber Knife...The CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System is a non-invasive alternative to surgery for the treatment of both cancerous and non-cancerous tumors anywhere ...

It can pinpoint exactly where the cancer is on my left lung. How this is done is that next week I will have out-patient where I will be put under and a scope down my throat will place 4 minute gold pins around the small nodule - this guides the radiation to the exact point needed. Compare to a GPS system. Three of the treatments from the cyber knife should do it -
You know like Loretta says "Out damn spot - Out damn spot - Out damn spot!" The prep in Nov 21 (right before Turkey day - and then Dec 11 or sooner is the actual treatment.

Thank you so much for prayers and I knew you were with me all of today ♥

Kay said...

Gee Whillikers, has it been 5 days since I've sounded off here ? Time flies ! I just haven't had the stamina to do anything I didn't HAVE to do. Went to the doc today. She still says I'm healing and it will take a long time. She has me on the strongest doses of Lortabs and Neurontin she can put me on, but now has me on a ten day regimen of Prednisone. We're also checking with a gym to see about more physical therapy and perhaps some massage. Will fill you in when I know more.

Meantime, I've barely caught up, but have JO, GLO's m.i.l. and all in need on my updated prayer list !

Will try not to let this blog and you, my dear, dear friends, go five days with no word. Thanks as always for all your concern and prayers ! I don't mean to worry you !

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Ms Bookworm said...

Whoops! Me too, Lolly! I slipped up too!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUZAN!!! Hope it's a fantastic day for you!

Glo, will certainly be praying for your Mom. Know that hospice will keep her comfortable. Prayers for peace for you and the family, too.

Hoda, you got snow?! I'm jealous!

Can only stay here a minute--Ken is on his way home from work, and I'm still doing transcribing. Will check back in later. Hope we hear from Mema Jo! I ♥ us!!

Ms Bookworm said...

Ahh--we DID hear from Mema Jo! I like the plan, Jo! Of course, prayers continue!

Kay, glad to hear from you! Hang in there! Prayers ongoing for you, too!

Well, better scoot for now. Will try to get back here later tonight.
Have a good evening!

Sandi said...

Jo, glad to hear that you have a plan. Amazing that this spot can be treated non-invasively and yet so precisely!

Glo, I am sorry to hear that your mother-in-law is not bouncing back. Hospice will keep her comfortable and pain free and I pray that the family has time to come to terms with the inevitable.

Kay, great to hear from you today and I'm sorry your recovery is taking such a long time.

Wonder what's up with Shirley today? Did she get her "railing guy?"

Talked to my mom - she goes to the doctor tomorrow about her toe but is having no pain at all and is walking OK. She also has her new date for the 3-D CT scan at Cleveland Clinic - 11/27.

Local weather is saying rain starting tomorrow and through the rest of the week with northeasterly winds and some minor tidal flooding - can you say "enough already!!??"

Prayers continue for Michael, for Jo, for Dana's dad, for Thelma's brother in law, for Kay, and for Glo's mom in law. Probably won't hop back on the blog tonight so, I'll say goodnight and see y'all in the AM! Only 6 school days til Thanksgiving break!! =)

Hoda, keep that snow up in Canada please! I hope to become a snow bird as soon as I retire! The plan is to "fly south" for January, February, and March of each year - I hate cold weather!

Hoda said...

Well JO!!! Thank you, this is all manageable and doable and it is great to have the science and to have the qualified medical people to do this. OK we are on it for the 21st of November and 11th of December...when next week are you going in? Praying circles for all three dates for any one who is able to join in...we will stand with MEMA JO and she will not be alone...Let us kn ow about next week when you know JO.

Hoda said...

SANDI...lots going on with the planets and on Tuesday is a solar eclipse and the weather is affected by it all and so are the tides...I thought you were already south? Maryland? OK OK OK I know it is all relative...I will do my best to keep the snow up here LOL!!! They predict it is going to be a heavy snow year for us up here.
Stay safe and I am thinking of the tides and you and the bad weather or as they call it in Québec dirty weather!!! I hope you are not affected by it this time or ever again. SANDY was enough thank you very much!

Dear Jo, That really sounds like a good, effective plan!! I didn't know the cyberknife did radiaton. I assumed it did surgically remove the spot. I'm glad you like my line from Shakespeare. It can be our mantra! "Out, out, damn spot!!" So there! Unending prayers.

Hoda, how dare they say Nutella is not food! It has hazelnuts, sprinkle of cocoa and whatever to make it spreadable.

It is raining here in my valley - thinking of you Sandi!

All of you and families and friends are in my prayers. AOYP ♥

JUDYE so sorry to hear about AMY'S MOM passing. She knew her daughters love and generosity and that must have made her feel good. Blessings on the family...

Very good yoga class and the roads were good for the drive there and back. My first drive in the snow this year and the car did well.
Snow tires are still good.

THANKS MARGY on sUSAn's update. I see her on FB also am very glad she is well.

LORETTA I am with you and dark chocolate is so good for us and so are hazlenuts!!! I do not know what is the matter with Canada's Parliament they should find something else to pick on I would say ALL POWER TO NUTELLA!!! HANDS OFF NUTELLA!!! OCCUPY NUTELLA!!!
I was actually rather shocked the first time I bought it after the Goods and Services Tax was implemented. On my food bill there is never any tax charged and with Nutella I thought they would charge me the 15% for the GST and the Provincial tax!!! But no there was no charge and when I asked they told me it was a food. I laughed and ate my way through a jar with a little voice saying, "what are you doing" and "do you want to be eating this" and then another voice said "The Canadian Gov't thinks it is food" and I would laugh!!!So I am not truly against the tax it just strikes me as being funny!!!It should have been taxed at least six years ago!!!

good evening all.....

JUDYE: will try to call you one evening this week. i want to chat with you as well. and btw, i did well bowling. all three scores were over 100. :) for me, that's good. i am working on consistency....i have a new ball that i am trying to learn to use, so i flip between my old 8 lb ball and my new 10 lb ball. ya wouldn't think it would make tha tmuch of a difference, but it does. on top of it, my left SI joint was all skeewonky and between that and my right hip issues, i rather looked like a question mark trying to bowl.....physically kind of skeewonky. made me slow down and pay attention tho!

and THANK YOU TO EACH OF YOU for support thru this process. it really didn't have to be this difficult. i do, however, as hard as i try not to be, find myself quite angry sometimes at our oldest sister.

GLO; sending light and love, comfort and peaceful thoughts as your mom prepares to transition home. it is indeed a very difficult time...i remember all too well. (((((hugs))))) many many warm hugs to you.....and your family as well...

SANDI:: glad your mom is doing okay.....

DANAMO, MEMAJO: AND OTHERS IN NEED; keeping each of you in my heart and thoughts for love, for healing, for comfort and peace....

Its been a busy day....had a bit of a rough start....but all is well. Went to Yoga and got Tom to go with me. It was, as usual, quite blissful. It was exactly what my heart and soul needed tonight to start to release some of the stress and emotional pain.....

Going down to 27 tonight. Gonna be kinda chilly folks. Thankful for a warm home and nice snuggly blankets.

With that, signing off and getting ready for bed.

Hugs, light and love to all. And btw, I am very thankful I found a little place in this nest to call my own....I am thankful for each of you, for welcoming me into this nest .....

GOOD EVENING...

Stopping in before bedtime. Soup Kitchen tomorrow and I always try to get into bed a little early. Although I LOVE doing the SK and Closet thing, it does take extra stamina and extra sleep seems to give that to me. The clothes closet has become a BIG attraction, some of the ladies would rather shop than eat...just hope arguments don't break out over a pretty dress or pair of shoes...it can happen:) Hoping to see Margy after she gets off work tomorrow, it's been a while since we've seen each other.
We checked out the leftovers in the fridge from Sunday's Thanksgiving dinner and there is enough left over for our meal tomorrow. Just need to make some extra mashed potatoes. That will give me more time to spend in the closet:) I love the closet! We have a wonderful assortment of clothing and shoes, this time (all sizes).

I'm glad to hear that JO has a plan now for getting rid of "SPOTTY". It sounds like a fool proof, well executed plan. But, of course, we will PRAY our hearts out for Jo and her medical staff!

It is raining here, right now and the wind is blowing in colder temps. I love to lie in bed and listen to the rain...so, that is where I'm going right now~

BLESSINGS AND LOVE FOR ALL MY DEAR FRIENDS♥

Happy, Happy to see KAY on the blog yesterday. Prayers for no more pain, KAY!

WANDA, enjoy your day in the SK and the CC! I know it brings you great joy, as it does all the others you do it for!

Good Tuesday morning Lori and all my eagle friends!

Wind has picked up but no rain here yet - I can see it on the radar though!

Prayers for all of the needs on the blog! Make it a great day!

Poured rain last night, I had my window open just a crack so I could hear it. Still raining this morning and a bit windy. Dogs came in soaking wet and ready for a "rub". Java loves to be rubbed down and will go between my legs and just stand there with the towel over her and me rubbing. So cute.

Annemarie's first play is approaching. We have that this weekend. Adam is on the crew and they have long days and nights ahead to get ready for the production.

Dad has his second to last chemo. today. This is his 2 drug day, pray that the "spot" :) is removed for him too. I like "out damn spot" for all those who are dealing with this rotten thing called cancer.

Sorry Glo about your MIL. Praying...

And for Bev's nephew who at the 11th hour cannot have his surgery! Get out of town! How does that happen. These insurance companies make me so grrrr.... >:(

Okay, I need to check the puppies in MA and get some more coffee.

Have a great day everyone. Prayers for all!

Baby Isaac flew to Boston with his parents on Sunday to start the process of having his surgery. As of yesterday, insurance had not approved the surgery. This morning everyone slammed PEIA insurance and the governor's office for help in getting this surgery approved. They were going to have to come back home this afternoon if it wasn't approved. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!! The insurance company approved it and the surgery will take place as scheduled.

Costume Lady said...

Oh, thank God, Sharon! Thinking of that precious baby not making it because of an IDIOT INSURANCE CO. was really troubling to me!
Made me think of our precious BRANTLEY, and the fact that if his problem had been diagnosed, he might still be with us today~
Everytime we pass by his grave-site, I think of all of you very SPECIAL momsters who helped with the funds to pay or his burial.
There was no insurance and Rachael had been going to college to get a degree in Management, so they were really in need. Rachael has, since Brantley's passing, landed a management position with The Briggs Animal Adoption Center's thrift store, "Buried Treasures" in Charles Town. It has been a blessing for her...keeps her busy and not dwelling so much on losing her baby~

Soup Kitchen looms...need to get ready.
HAVE A GREAT DAY♥

I'm wondering if the Weather app
in my phone is correct--it's only 48 here right now, but it says it will get up to 82 here! Don't know quite how to dress, except in layers, for sure.

Count me in on the prayer circle for Jo! Out, damned spot!!

Well, gotta go feed Emma, and finish up my work for the doctor.
