Yay Janet. Thanks Steve. It's October 2. Have we ordered a new cam yet? :)

Thanks for the call over JANET & Congrats on your new feather!!!

Thank you STEVE for the new thread!

Hello SHARON! Good question.

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING LADIES (and gents)...

Shar, good thing you reminded STEVE about the cam...he has probably forgotten all about it;)
I don't have to remind you, next month, our eagle pair start repairing their house. I so love watching them fight over placement of the 'logs'. Belle and Lib use to fight endlessly about that, can't remember if she fights with Shep about that or not?

JANET'S story of yoga and her massages helping her friend is very inspiring. I think I would like to really get into yoga...when I don't have anything else to do:) I know, I know, I should FIND the time. I need to find my spirit, first...I have lost it somewhere along the way:(

Need to get ready for Soup Kitchen.
MENU:
CHILI & OYSTER CRACKERS
MEXICAN CORN
CORNBREAD
JELLO & COOKIES
DRINKS

It is a CHILI kind of day...raining and cool~

Have a good day♥

Don't forget to pray for MICHAEL!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Wanda, you have much too strong a spirit to have lost it. It is there gently helping you through every day. Much love and hugs to you!

Lolly said...

Good morning! Heading out shortly! Sun is shining...great for traveling. We should be in Texas tonight, but still a long way from home.

Have a great day!

Will be thinking of Jo, Michael, and family!♥

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

A woman I know in Bluefield got shot last night and her husband was murdered. She is in a Roanoke hospital. The world is nuts.

Judie said...

WANDA! I found your spirit and sent it post-haste to your roost. Meanwhile, may have to make a drive to wild and wonderful WV to get to the soup kitchen tonight. Menu sounds yummy. Hugs for Miss GG.

Continued prayers for Michael blue-eyes, Jo, and all the family.

Shar, so sorry about your friend and her husband. Hope she recovers quickly.

T-Bird said...

Good afternoon my eagle peeps. Thanks for the call over Janet and the new thread Steve.

Janet said...

good early afternoon ya'll.

COSTUME LADY: when the time is right you will find the time and the way to do yoga. its taken me some time to find this class and this place. i had taken yoga in massage therapy school and LOVED IT, but after that, finding the time/the money/the right place....it finally came together over at this place just down the road.

the class that i take is a restorative class, tender loving harmony. it is gentle. they use props and you can modify poses, which helps tremendously for one and for all...

right now, you have so much going on...take your time, when you are ready, you will find that which you need....
and by the way ~~ the menu sounds yummmmmy

got to go. lunch, then dentist. later gaters!

Kay said...

Congrats to JANET on acquiring a beautiful feather and thanks to STEVE for a lovely new thread !

Prayers continueing for dear Michael, JO, DANA's Dad, SHAR's friend and any others in need ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

WANDA, that dinner sounds soooo good ! Don't have the fixins' on hand for chili, but you've whetted my appetite. I'll have to get out a can of Hormel Chili. Once I add some onions, cheese and hot pepper flakes it's passable. I do have the ingredients for homemade cornbread and that will save the day ! I also have some strawberry jello in the fridge, so I'm going to be thinking of you with love when eating dinner tonight ! ☺ I remember many "fights" over the placement of "logs" twixt Belle n' Shep. Hope we have a good cam in place by nestoration and nestcapades time ! Praying for you, dear friend. I can understand the feeling of a misplaced spirit, but am sure yours will return very soon !

Time for me to get movin' per doctors orders. In addition to the twice daily exercises I've been doing for weeks and weeks, I'm going back to walking. In place, in the house. Looking forward to having LOLLY and JACK join me upon their return. Hope the earth has stopped shaking in the great Dallas area by now !!!

I love you all ! ♥

Hello Everybody. Didn't get on here yesterday----busy w/dentist appt., taking new drugs and konking out. There's no pain when you;re asleep!!!~ I go tomorrow for the tooth fairy to get it. Too bad I'll have to pay! But this is minor compared to other REAL problems mentioned here. Thoughts and prayers for Jo, Michael,Jessica's friend's baby,Shar's town people, Dana's Dad and any others. Special good wishes for GG.

JudyEddy said...

Home from work didn't come home for lunch I am going to the park during lunch since the eagles seem to be spending time in the cell phone tower now

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Prayers are continuing for DanaMo's Dad, for Michael, for Shar's friend who got shot and lost her husband, and for Megan's baby. My, this is a crazy world we are living in!

I DO have some good news: Emma's vet called to let me know that her blood tests all came back normal. Her pancreas, her liver, and her kidneys are all fine! We're to keep her on a bland diet for a few more days, and finish all the antibiotics. She is eating better today, so that's encouraging, and she seems to have a bit more energy in spite of the relentless heat. Thank God!!!

Must get back to work now, but wanted to let you know the good news. Will try to check back in later tonight after dinner. I ♥ us!

Sandi said...

Good afternoon all. No new news about Michael??

Jo just posted this on FB:

Update from 4pm Tuesday 10/2:
Michael has been moved into a new area of ICU at the hospital - He is being monitored on the EEG (Brain Wave) continuously.
They are trying the different saline solutions to ease the swelling. This is going to take time ♥ TY for prayers ♥

JudyEddy said...

oops I stuttered I guess

JudyEddy said...

Is JO up there or is she going up there do we know I thought I read yesterday she was????

Sandi said...

Thanks for posting the update on Michael, Sharon! Waiting rather than performing any surgery seems like a step in the right direction. If the docs were very concerned about the amount of swelling, I think they would be pursuing a more aggressive course of action.

Good to see Kay on the blog today - walk lady, walk!!!

Talked to a teacher at my school who is a big kayaker in the area. She said the nest we found on Sunday IS an active nest and she watched all spring/early summer as 3 eaglets fledged and then hung out in the general area for another 2 months. Hoping there are more eggs laid and babies hatched this winter and next spring.

I messaged a former student on FB last night and asked for a recommendation about good, reasonably-priced birding binoculars. The brands he recommended start at about $1000 - he must have missed the "reasonably-priced" part of my message. Any recommendations from folks here on the blog?

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I think they are using a concentrated saline that is supposed to reduce brain swelling.

DANAMO Good to hear your Dad is doing great and I can just imagine how mentally exhausting it can be for the family Let him know we all are pulling for him I am so happy he is putting on his big boy pants and gonna fight like hell=== Tanya my niece (sort of my marriage) would say that when she was fighting cancer she was gonna put on her big girl panties I fight like hell

Mema Jo said...

Jewels - Head trauma does bring on
seizures. Michael has been having them.
I am hoping to go down tomorrow to see my Michael. Sometime in the afternoon or early evening. His daughter, Christine has gotten a Red Cross Pass to come up to be with her dad - the pass will get Patrick out of his Duty without docking him. They are traveling from FT BRAGG so it will be midnight before they get here. Her aunts are awaiting her and will transport them down. The youngsters will not be going down of course.

Mema Jo said...

Sharon - let us know if you hear from Steve on a new cam

Mema Jo said...

Dana - so thankful the 1st Chemo went well. Your dad is fortunate to have you and your mom there for him. Is there also a sister of yours near by.

magpie said...

That's heartwarming news, Jo....that Christine can be with her father...
and that you can be with your son...
We love you all, so very much

magpie said...

Also happy to hear the first round of chemotherapy is accomplished, DanaMo...
I wish maybe you could take a day or two off pretty soon...there are good substitutes I bet who could take good care of your kindergarteners....

magpie said...

And I share my prayer upliftings with all of you for the new requests brought to us today, and the ones already asked for...
(( Hugs ))

DanaMo said...

I do not have a sister :( And right now with things the way they are with my brother, it's just me, my hubby and kids. Thank God for them too because they are holding me up, while I hold Mom up. Dad is holding up on his own ;)

DanaMo said...

I cannot take off work. I run in and out, but my poor aide could not do it for more than an hour without help. This class is just so difficult. I don't feel right trying to get off unless I really need it. Mom is actually helping me with getting Adam to the doctors tomorrow (injury has not healed, coaches suggest a MRI), and Annemarie to the ortho on Friday. I don't want to take off unti9l I REALLY need to and I hope there isn't any real need.

Good evening,

Bowling today. Our team was in second place!!

Nice to see Judie on tonight.

stronghunter said...

Will be going in for a small surgical procedure tomorrow. I had a mole removed some time ago, and it was precancerous. I am not expecting any problems, but decided I want your prayers and support.

This is surely a very small deal compared to things going on for others.

And I am very glad I changed dermatologists.

JudyEddy said...

This is on facebook about the NBG nest I am sure all of you will be able to see it even if you don't have face book it is a Public page its worth a listen Love it The FAA has approved for radar systems since there has been so many bird strikes so cool

please watch this video I hope you can see it

JudyEddy said...

Lit me know if you can't see it and then I can record it and put on blog Margie, Kay and any nonfacebookers

magpie said...

Thanks in advance,
JudyE
might have to delay my viewing on that for a little while

Shirley, aka Cyclone, YAY on the bowling win, and of course on the prayer request....can't ever be to careful or too prayerful....

magpie said...

Oh glad grannyblt came on with some binoc info....I had read a great review in an Audubon Magazine a few years back.. but the magazine wasn't mine and I never got a copy of it...

I know sometimes the smaller numbers are better than the bigger numbers and you DEFINITELY want that center adjustment.....measure one eye with it, then the other eye on the eyepiece, and then the center fine tunes everything...
I have a pair that does NOT have that feature and it is a hassle and a half

JudyEddy said...

I have a silly question about binoculars toooo Do they zoom in and out the pair I have is set to just one setting it seems and there is the thing in the middle to adjust the focus I just keep thinking it should be like a camera zoom in and out I know Silly question

stronghunter said...

Thanks for the info about the Norfolk eagles, Judy.

G;ad someone knows about binoculars. Not my area of expertise.

Thanks, Margy. I am expecting it will be routine.

JudyEddy said...

Hey I got the video down loaded to youtube and am putting on blog I just downloaded to my real player and put on youtube easy peasy
Council meeting about the NBG nest and they are eligible for funds to prevent bird strikes

JudyEddy said...

so it is on the Misc Pic or video blog for viewing if you didn't see it on facebook In the beginning they seem to be complaining about someone on facebook making post I can't figure out who they are saying at all must be the deaf ear LOL

stronghunter said...

Going to say good night now. The school bus comes early. SED, everyone.

JudyEddy said...

I am buying a new camera tomorrow at work a 24x zoom gettin tired of my 5x zoom should be able to zoom in on a eagle the next time I am thinking about a cheap laptop tooo found out I can get free Wifi through my cable co most anywhere just have to use my roadrunner email HMMM sounds good to me Maybe not for sure I am looking at the 2G one at work the lower price one is 1g and for 20 more one xtra G may be helpful for pic will see tomorrow or not I was thinking of a GPS tooo but I think with a map I will be fine

Hi all! We have stopped for the night. We are in Amarillo. We will get home tomorrow!!! Wahooo! Only 350 or so miles to go!!! First bit of business will to get Annie out of jail! lol

Read the reports on Michael, so glad his daughter is getting there. Bless her heart, know she is terrified.

Dana, I really feel for you, having such a rough year. Glad your dad's chemo went well. Hang in there!

Shirley, thought of your brother went we left Ft. Colins this morning. It looks like a pretty town.

magpie said...

well it zooms in and out to focus, JudyE....but I don't know if some actually zoom in and out...out of my area of knowledge..
a spotting scope might do more zooming but harder to manage on the small scale...

but I bet someone will come on with more info

Lolly said...

They have some kind of funky wifi system here. Probably will not get on in the morning. Wifi only lasts 8 hours and then you have to get a new pass. Will not mess with that! Good grief!

It is late and we have not eaten. Guess I better whip something up!

magpie said...

Oh Yeah, Amarillo, Lolly...that's where your FIRST stop was on the way out, wasn't it? And once again, Amarillo, the spanish word for Yellow!
That makes both Kay AND me habby

Happy Final Trails Tomorrow

Autumn day here and I brought in my Sage plant and my Thyme plant...I will have a herb garden in the kitchen this autumn winter...it makes food taste so much better and I do not have to add salt or sauces.

Good yoga class and the colours are with reds and bright oranges...the autumn skies are back and so the start of few months of getting excited about seeing blue.

PRAYERS on going...glad JO and Granddaughter will go see MICHAEL tomorrow and I am praying for good results on that biopsy JO...PLEASE GOD.

Binoculars do zoom in and zoom out JUDYE and they also have a place to refine the focus...
SANDI 1000 dollars seems very steep to me but I know people who spend that kind of money for light binoculars that they can take for overnight hiking trips and rock/ice climbing adventures...

Back in TEXAS LOLLY and JACK...The Grand kids and ANNIE will be delighted you are home and I hope all is well at your roost.

SHIRLEY will be sending positive energy and prayers to you too tomorrow as you go through your procedure.

I had a terrific Spinach Omlette supper and was it delicious. I was hungry after yoga...now I need to drink lots of liquids...

Going to head to the shower and get comfy. Jack is monitoring the Texas Rangers ballgame on the computer. Have cable but can not get the game.

Night all! SED!!!!!!!

HODA, I love spinach omelettes, but I suspect mine is not as healthy as yours. I put bacon and cheese in mine, which, of course, is NOT healthy, but oh so good:) Don't have that often...most of my omelettes are made with cholesterol free egg beaters...can't really tell the difference!

Soup Kitchen and Clothes Closet was busy this evening, 44 guests, which is good for a rainy day, such as we had here. Chili was perfect for this kind of day.

I was so hoping to hear some good news about Michael, but I guess that will come, in time~
Praying for him and for good news for Miss Jo!

Glad Dana's Dad made it through chemo today and praying that all his treatments go well.

Good morning,

Almost overslept this morning. I usually try to get up a little before 7 just to make sure Hunter is off to the bus. His mother gets him out of bed. This morning, I barely made it, but Hunter is safely off.

Heard banging and thought Flash was into the dog food bin again, but it turns out they are taking the house next door apart today. They are starting out with hammers, it sounds like.

Insurance says they have gotten the estimate from the second contractor, so maybe things will be rolling along over here soon.

Prayers for Michael, Jo, Kay, Wanda and Gene's family, T-Bird and gang, and everyone else on here.

Happy birthday, Carolyn!! Please do something special for yourself today.

Bowling--yes, Janet. We were happily surprised to be in second place. Usually we were last or next to last. I think once we were third from last. Being near the top is a new experience.

And we got nice new shirts from our sponsor. No other team has those that I know of.

stronghunter said...

Fort Collins--It seems to be a very nice town--a college town, too.

When I think of Fort Collins, I think of the campground we stayed in a bit north of there in Wyoming. We awakened to the crowing of a large number of roosters.

In town the night before, we saw a bar called DT's. There was a large pink elephant on the sign. Strange. The children were too young to understand our reaction to that one.

Good morning to my eagle buds. Praying for a good day for all.

Hoda, my binocs do not zoom like a camera, just focus.

I can't seem to get on my Facebook timeline or home page. I added a new friend yesterday, wonder if that caused it? or maybe it is a computer problem........I'm in no mood for these things today.

Good afternoon everybody. My sister showed me a new puppy cam. They are Great Danes that are 11 weeks old. One is speckled and his name is Perry. I love him! There is an older one that runs with them. He is 9 months old and his name is Walter. I really need this kind of diversion in my day. Cried when they turned off Holly's Half-Dozen yesterday. :(

If you go to www.wvva.com, you can see the story about the shooting in Bluefield Monday night. So sad. The suspect has confessed on camera to the murder. Monika is still in the hospital in critical condition. From what I have heard, he shot both of them in the face and then beat her face with the butt of the gun and stabbed her in the neck. She called 911 and she told them exactly who did it. I have met her and we are Facebook friends. So sad.

I guess they are removing the nest tomorrow NBG On facebook I just got home a saw it I will be back with anymore info

JudyEddy said...

I'm devastated by the lack of integrity of Norfolk's city council (with the exception of CM Smigiel) They were given so much information, they refused to face the truth. They were even told about a grant that would finance the avian radar. Did they act on any of that...absolutely not. Instead the cowards are closing the gardens and removing the nest. Shame on them...my heart now aches for our beloved eagles FROM Jb Maberry

JudyEddy said...

this is the article they posted Nest removal sooo sad

The man who killed the man in Bluefield and shot his wife hung himself in the city jail today. Puzzled as he did it with his shoestrings and he probably weighed 250 to 300 pounds.

Slow evening here at work, so I decided to peek at the blog.

Happy Birthday, Carolyn!

Jo, praying for your test results and for Michael to heal quickly and return home.

JudyE, thanks for posting about the NBG nest, as sad as it is. Makes me want to throw up. Bunch of freakin' idiots. They have no clue.

glo said...

I so agree with you Paula Its so hard to see something so senseless played out and be absolutely powerless to do anything about it. Folks tried they tried really hard but I think the horse was already out of the barn before "we the masses" knew and then it was too late for us which is probably all part of the plan. I smell a stinking something fishy is going on here" scenario. I have to feel so badly for the school kids that watched this pair at any point over the years and especially the year we all lost mom and hoped for Dad and now to see what Dad really gets. I am glad I do not have a school aged child who watched to even try to explain this too. I can't explain it to myself!!!! ARGH

JudyEddy said...

darn it I need to run back to walmart or somewhere I need a router or a ethernet wire to get the lap top to work in my house I wish I would have thought of that at the time I was at work I can't get the security to download till I can get on line and the camera and the laptop are both charging I dislike my camera right away no book its a cd and its 80pages long so can't print but I can read with abode what I need What do people do that don't have computers when they buy a camera anyway???????

JudyEddy said...

May be silly but I unliked the Norfolk Botanical Gardens page and told them soo also---------------- Just not fair I pray the eagles find another home and you know it will be in the area what will they do then just doesn't make since 515 stirkes Just not fair

Update on FB from Jenny...Jo's Daughter

Update from Wed 10/3
Mom, Dad and all of us brothers and sisters were there to visit him today. Good news The CS showed that the swelling has stopped. He is totally sedated at this time and every hour on the hour they take away the sedation to test how responsive he is. The Drs said his responses were very good today. His swelling may take a week or longer to go down and it will be awhile before we know to what extent the damages were. But one day at a time and today was Good.

Busy day wioth complicated meetings and people being people we disagree and get our emotions all tangled out in a knot!!! In the end it all worked out...
Book Sale at the end of the month here in Nelson.
African Dinner preparations and publicity for the 18th of November.
Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon month for the next couple of weekends
Resolution Committee meetings and Executive committee meetings and generally lots to do for the Spring Province wide AGM held in Nelson and I find myself in need of becoming an organizer...I function better when things are organized.

PRAYERS CONTINUE AND ONGOING
THELMA I have not forgotten about your brother in law and his treatments.

PRAISES PRAISES PRAISES and HALLILUJAH...on MICHAEL'S news. One day at a time is about all we can do really.

TRAGIC violence SHAR...none of it makes any sense yet when it starts to happen it seems to roll on. I do not comprehend hanging ones self with shoe laces...they must have been some long shoe laces I would say...Waste of life all around!!! Your FB Friend will have a lot of work to do to heal after being subjected to such violence.
I include her in my prayers.

AGAIN MOSTLY PRAYERS OF GRATITUDE FOR ALL THAT IS GOING WELL IN OUR LIVES

Hoda said...

Thanks PAULA for bringing over the update...It is with a sigh of relief that I read it. Now if I can only find out the results of JO'S tests the knot in my heart will disolve...Please GOD look after our MEMA JO.

NBG what can I say? I enjoyed watching the eagles there and I enjoyed the wealth of information I learnt from there and I enjoyed the angle of their camera. It is a beautiful nest and now I hope they manage to save it for educational purposes once they take it down tomorrow. A great loss indeed...
The eagles will rebuild this is what happens here when osprey nest was taken down by the city...two years later they left the replacement nest and rebuilt in the old spot till they took it down again and put a cone permanantely on the top of the bridge. I have faith and trust the eagles will be alright. I will howerver miss them.

glo said...

Glad indeed to see that there is some Good News on Michael.

Hoda said...

Does anyone understand what is the point about paint balling NBG Papa eagle? Are they really going to do that? It is worst than thaking down the nest it seems...what disrespect to your National Symbol!!!

Got a cute big bandage on my arm. I think it dwarfs the incision, to tell the truth.

Lolly said...

Well, what is on your cute bandage, Shirley/

We are home. We arrivede a little before 4. Had traffic in Fort Worth but that was expected. The interstate in north FW is the worst stretch of highway in the state. Made the news!

Anyway, I left to get Annie immediately and she is doing great. Not too much fussing at us!She wants a lot of attention and petting. lol Jack just weighed her and she gained a wee bit. Lack of excercise will do it every time. lol

The yard looks great! 4.65 inches of rain in the rain gauge. Yea! The yard guy did a great job as well as the sprinkler system.

Pecans are ready on the trees. We will start seriously harvesting them tomorrow. We got a half bucket just walking around. Thrilled that Jack's wiring system has kept the squirrels out of the trees!!!

Hoda, thought of you at dinner. We had hamburgers with Canadian meant, canadian bacon, canadian onion, and canadian chips. lol

Lolly said...

Good mews on Michael...that's a great step in the right direction. Thinking of Jo!!!

Lolly said...

Make that "news".

JudyEddy said...

Hoda the paintballing is to discourage them plus fireworks

paula eagleholic said...

Hoda, they are not going to save the nest, they will shred it.

Hoda said...

Sad about shredding the nest PAULA...
JUDYE discourage the eagles from what? Are they expecting them to fly in when they are dismantling it?
LOLLY asks a good question SHIRLEY. What is on your fancy bandage?

JudyEddy said...

That is great news JO about the swelling thanks for posting it PAULA
I am in love with my new camera odd it has different countries setting on it to for times zones I didn't read all the instructions and haven't connected it to the puter yet with the disc as they say I guess to register it What happens if you don't have a puter The zoom 24x is awesome I will go to the park to see if I can get a good pic of the eagles tomorrow after I take my truck in for its once over before I go on vacation you know just a look over and I hope they don't find anything but best I get it looked at

JudyEddy said...

from trying to build back in the same three trees they have three nest there

JudyEddy said...

eagle are territorial and they will probably try to build in the area I wish there was some way to find out but they aren't tagged are they

JudyEddy said...

HODA they think that they will try to build the nest again over and over

Hoda said...

Of course they will JUDYE. The eagles will rebuild!!! The plan is not thought through...
Is the camera going to be up for the dismantling tomorrow?

TY Paula for Jenny's report! Now we need Jo's report.
Shirley, glad your surgery went well.
Prayers for all on the list ♥ & adding T-Birds relatives.

JudyE, I can't believe they're planning to remove NBG nest. I thought there was great hope for an alternative after seeing your video about bird radar last night!
I'll have to research and find the exact group responsible and write them a negative letter. I feel sick & not from missing tooth--got meds for that! Slept all day--zzzzz
Have to eat some more---think it will be consomme w/melted crackers!
Will try to read ALL the news.

Margy, congratulations to your stepdaughter for 2 Years Clean!!!

Shar, prayers continuing for your friend who was shot, also for Megan's baby.

Happy to report that Emma is feeling perkier today, probably because it was cooler than yesterday, only 84. She has a better appetite, and is eating full meals (although softer, blander food) with no hesitation. She is acting more like her old self with each new day. Thank you to everyone for all your prayers for her!!!

Lolly, welcome home! So habby that Annie did well at kitty camp, and is not miffed at you for leaving her there!

Well, need to call it a day. Have said prayers for everyone, every creature (especially the NBG eagles!), and all our furbabies.
The porch light is on, and both security systems are enabled. Sleep well, with SED. God bless, and goodnight. I love all of you!
