Mits do you know the egg laying schedule for Finland? Lolly was thinking the Osprey this morning seemed to be acting in the egg-laying way see she is roosting on the nest now thanks
Have a good day~~~got to hit the trail to Chelsea. Yesterday we stopped back there after luncheon next door at Big Watkins Park to check on irate cardinal who has been banging at windows in old dog kennel. We covered window he was fighting w/ strips of etched adhesive backed vinyl on Weds. Saw that he moved to the next window!! Put some more there yesterday PM. Will see what he's doing today--there are 2 more windows!! aarrgghh
Hello Eagle Friends. I'm at school so I can't stay long.
Prayers for you BEagle. I hope the meds will do it's stuff.
Prayers for Glo, Jean and Husband.
Prayers for all needs for everyone.
I am going to visit friends further North. About 3 hours. So if you don't hear from me for 4 or 5 days I won't be home. Helping our friends put in new windows on their sun porch. I will try to stay out of trouble.
At Finland, at the moment, you can really see the ice crack....apparently, back in the distance, where we see the ferry, is open water; in the crook of the fjord must be where is freezes up pretty solid.
Paula and Wanda.see one dogwood blooming out in back. Mine have ALWAYS bloomed, every year, at the same time as the redbuds......they've been in bloom for over a week.....guess the winter weather just "nipped them in the bud" so to speak....Wanda, not anymore overpowered by other thees than before!
04/15/10: We're hearing that locally some nests have an egg and others do not. Our pair seems to be getting their act together, so we're hoping to see an egg shortly
Good morning! That is funny, Lynn. Last night....late, I was watching Finland and I thought it was water...not ice. It looked rough and I commented on it. Duh!
Margy, thanks for the link to Loch Garten...I had lost it! I have trouble watching that cam. All I get is the hills beyond. I can see EJ only by scrolling down and seeing just a sliver of the cam.????
Followed the link to see the videos but could not find them???
I am off to run errands and then to do my bit at getting muddy. Man, can I get grubby. We got just a little over a tenth of an inch and water is standing in one area of the yard.
Storm brewing here. I was on a roll cleaning stooooopid acorn caps and squirrel-left hulls out of mulch beds. 3 down...one to go. Thundering now. Wind blowing even harder than it was earlier. Hang on Palmer!
Rain is here! At least I don't have to sprinkle the ant stuff I sprinkled around the house!! Of course, if it's a gully washer, I'll have to put down more!
I have returned from Lunch and Shopping and I sure am going to put my feet up very shortly. We should be getting the rain storm soon - I got one cat in and one cat to go!
Had a really really good time with daughters.... We are all done shopping for the bridal shower!
Lynn thank you for the reminder about this being the sad anniversary of the Virginia Tech tragedy Columbine School Tragedy is on the 20th
The forgiveness that comes from the victims' families with these things, is nearly incomprehensible, but that is what we are directed to do God Bless All the Families on these anniversaries, and every day of their lives
Today was a Stand-Down down for the Coal Miners, all WV mines suspended operations for the day
Today is Rockin' Circle R's birthday - she used to post every now and then...once was a co-worker of mine at 911
She is in Kentucky now...very busy gal with three little lasses and husband.... I sent her a picture of an earlier picture this morning of Ma and Palmer
Good afternoon. Well lets see. Jean has been upgraded to clear liquids. Still has IV and they did angiogram this am. Kidney Dr coming int his afternoon and calcium counts are through the roof. Not at all sure what that is about. I have only talked to her on the phone today. Will try to see her tomorrow. She rested well last night. I have a headache so going to feed Dex supper a little early and take a nap.
I have been checking E-M emails to see if Chrissy has responded about Loch of the Lowe's and Loch Garten, not yet so far. hope our dear friend can at least check out some of her favorite nests now and then in the midst of the personal chaos she is going through.
Glad to hear Jean, seems to be somewhat improving, Glo. Lynn will probably have an idea about those elevated calcium levels. Prayers continue... and I hope the headache scrams fast!
If the skies are clear wherever you are tonight, maybe, just maybe, Infant Crescent Moon will be out Look EAST/SouthEAST....if not tonight, maybe Saturday
Time to scram, work time. Prayers for wellness and safety, and grateful prayers for gifts given
Belle very disturbed - she got up and walked around when it got very still, then it sounded like hail for a couple seconds there, and she covered Palmer
Thanks for the moral support with the Type II. You are kind and thoughtful. I will tackle it since my doctor told me three things it does to you. Eeeewwww.
Why is Belle so close up with Palmer? Is the wind too strong? She sure does look protective.
Now listen to this! On IE I put up the live cam and there is Palmer and Parent. A really good reception on the cam. So I am looking for the PLAY button and the TIMER but nothing is there. So I'm thinking with the Circle Thingy - How am I suppose to get this started! Well lo and behold it started itself. Did this happen to anyone else It is for real - Palmer just lifted head!
Did Palmer eat a big breakfast? Dinner came in but Palmer didn't have any, then big wind came up and Palmer has been either napping or "preening" since then. Heard a few peeps and a sneeze, but not much else - seems pretty pooped. Maybe coping with all the wind has been tiring?
BEagle I also have Type II Diabetes I've been aware of it for a little over a year. No biggie I just watch what I eat and check blood sugar twice a day(am & pm). I do take Metformin tabs. You will be just fine!
Forget everything I said about those controls at our cam not being there ..... They are there now.... When it got to 20:00 they popped up when I refreshed the cam.
Lib brought in a fish earlier, and Belle brought it to the back of the nest. Palmer wasn't interested then, but Belle took a couple bites, turned toward Palmer - looked like she was trying to get Palmer to eat, but the eaglet wasn't into it.
When Lib brought this fish in, Belle was hungry, I think because she'd been on heightened alert during that wind and brief hail storm, and had spent a lot of energy being on alert and covering Palmer. So she didn't bother to run it back to the dining area - she just started digging in!
And I'm relieved to see Palmer has an appetite - I was starting to worry.
I was just going to say mine is okay Jo Thinking of Deb all the time but especially with this volcano business. She was interested in the volcano I think in Alaska. Mits would remember.
Hi all! Ok, what is it? We have been mentioning Deb quite a bit lately, thinking of her so much and here I am....having a melt down! Trying to get a grip!!!!
Belle is such a fantastic Mom. Reading about her protectiveness with Palmer.
Think I am on top of planting for this spring...and preparing beds. Still need to plant caladium bulbs, but they do not arrive for a nother couple of weeks. We order them from Florida.
Lynn....tomorrow is Texas Motor Speedway!!! YUK! We will run into traffic as we have to go by the speedway going to Laurel's tomorrow. We are going to both boys games.

Poor Lib really has to hunker down to keep from being blown out of the nest.
Looks as though Palmer is low enough and protected by the nest material that she isn't bothered a lot by it now.

tHE WE nestcam is finally working again; both adults are on the nest; and it appears they might have caught a large bird for dinner.
I can't see if the second chick has hatched yet though.

I was down for at least two for a Panda nap.
I feel somewhat better now, but I have places to go, things to do; so I will be seeing you later.

2nd storm went through...but not bad.
Over 1100 confirmed dead now in China from the quake a couple of days ago.
Glad that Jean is doing better, Glo. The most common cause of hypercalcemia is dehydration, but there are many others.
Hello everybody.
Thanks for the moral support with the Type II. You are kind and thoughtful. I will tackle it since my doctor told me three things it does to you. Eeeewwww.
Why is Belle so close up with Palmer? Is the wind too strong? She sure does look protective.
Have fun on your afternoon jaunts, Jim. Nothing wrong with a panda nap!!
Time to eat. Homemade mac & cheese and sweet & sour chicken. Anyone coming?
Homemade Mac & Cheese!!!????
Yummy.
ME! ME!
Happy Birthday, Jenny!
Margy - update was that there is nothing happening at all with grandbaby yet...
Some power outtages around work here...glad it didn't hit us...rain and storm did, but still have power...may have to change mowing to Sunday...
I think of Deb and her new lawn boy often.
The chick in Sidney is eating. I don't know what, but enjoying every bite he gets.
PPS....Palmer Poop Shoot.
The RTH chicks are eating. They are very grabby.
The TH twins were just fed and now alone. Wherever the bigger one goes the little one follows.
Just got another shower here, guess that seals the deal..no mowing tonight! YAY
Heading home, catch ya on the flip side...
TGIF!!
I wasn't going to blast the blog with updates this evening. Can't help it with so many cute scenes.
Those RTH chicks are very cute. They are pecking each other.
Big stretch out with the left wing by Belle. I love to see that happen.
Hi Mema Jo. No that did not happen to me, but it's not surprising. I use IE for our cam also. For some reason it holds it better, for me anyway.
Noah is cutely peering out his window in the upper left corner. Looks like he wants to go go go .
The WE nest is a mess.
Okie Dokie! I saw the talons twich
Here's another fish - maybe that will get Palmer's attention...
I think Lib was teasing Belle with that fish. Finally he moved off it.
Belle was really scrutinizing that itty bitty fish.
I missed the talon twiggle?
BEagle I also have Type II Diabetes
I've been aware of it for a little over a year. No biggie I just watch what I eat and check blood sugar twice a day(am & pm). I do take Metformin tabs.
You will be just fine!

Thanks

BEagle Take it with breakfast and then at dinner. That is also when I take my blood sugar and record it.
I was just going to say mine is okay Jo
Thinking of Deb all the time but especially with this volcano business. She was interested in the volcano I think in Alaska. Mits would remember.
I like it also when they feed at the back of the nest (12 noon position) Palmer doesn't drop much anymore. Big Bites....
THERE ARE TWO NEW THREADS.
Just one a day. I will have to pull my tester out and start recording so the doctor can see what happens.
Kick. I think Palmer was full. Belle and Lib really stuff him full.
NOW THERE IS ONLY ONE NEW THREAD
NEW THREAD
