Just passing through. Prayers for Chrissy and her family.

Not long until I head back to work for the week. It was a nice spring break.

George enjoyed my little trip downstairs for a glass of milk. He got a tiny snack and a tiny bit of milk.

All is well at the nest.

See you in a few hours.

Good morning everyone!! Hope all have a great day today. Praying for Lynn's test, Chrissy's situation, and everyone else in need this morning. Remember the miners' families up in Raleigh County. They are up to 25 dead now. Such a tragedy. Tom works for the company that works on their long walls, so he feels such a bond with those guys. I am so grateful he did not follow his daddy's footsteps into the coal mines.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Fresh breakfast just arrived. Drop and go.

hedgie said...

GOod morning all.
Sad day in Raleigh Co., for sure. Hope Tom doesn't know any of those who perished, Sissy. And glad he didn't become a miner, too.
Won't know until Th. if I can claim to be a survivor! Waiting is a bummer. Thanks for all well-wishes.
SIL, his friend and my eldest gd were supposed to be here at 8 to do some outdoor work--before it gets too hot.....not here yet! May be up to 90 today. Whew....seems like straight from winter to summer.
Glare bad on nest...I can't make out Palmer!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

What a poop shoot!!! Go Palmer!!

Good morning all! The sun is finally peeking out after some early morning thunder showers (just north of here..we got about 20 drops total).

Have a lot I want to get done today so I'm off....BBL

No one is here yet....why am I not surprised?

I can make out a fluff ball----he looks like a fuzzy roasting hen!! Can't see hi cute head.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I am here Lynn, working and lurking as usual!!

Mits said...

Sissy, I think Lynn meant her helpers have not arrived yet:), supposed to be there at 8 this a.m.

BWE Nest Update

04/05/10:
We've finished Part 3 of the Eagle Cam Gallery and opened Part 4. Thanks to everyone for the photos.

Reminder: We have officially begun our Eaglet-Naming Contest, so please help us name our eaglets.

BWO Update

04/05/10:
Special Gallery Note

We mistakenly left out a group of photos from the start of the 2010 season, so we've since added photos to both the end of the 2009 Osprey Gallery and the start of the 2010 Osprey Gallery.

I was wondering why there was such a large gap in the picture dates :)

news from the Sidney nest....

egg stolen: April 5, 6:28 pm, a raven took advantage of a brief absence by the adults to steal one of the eggs

wvgal_dana said...

Good Morning in Eagleland on this Monday thread.

Prayers for the coal miners and their familes, the officers wife and family, Chrissy situation, and a GREAT report comes back for Hedgie-Lynn.

Darn Raven at the Sideny nest.

wvgal_dana said...

Has anyone ever decided from whose end the "whine in the live feed" is coming from?

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie-Lynn are you still here?

Lolly said...

Good morning! 68 and humid here. Makes the body ache!!! Possible rain today and tomorrow. Hope not! I want to dry up! Also, everything is covered in yellow oak pollen, soon to be covered with oak blossoms. Yuk! Hate to let Annie out as she comes in covered with oak junk!

Lynn, extra special prayers for you to get a good report. I feel confident of it! ♥ you! Special prayers, too, for Chrissy. And, prayers for the miners families. Tough time for them, for sure.

paula eagleholic said...

Oh no, for Sidney nest.

wvgal_dana said...

Lolly has it the lawn finally dried out down your way?

paula eagleholic said...

Here is the Sidney video. I've never seen a raven steal an egg before, he just picks it up in his mouth and carries it away.

Raven steals egg

hedgie said...

I'm back. My helpers came and are gone. They got done what I asked for....mostly the hard stuff!

OMG....can't believe that raven at Sidney. And that Mama KNEW an egg was missing as soon as she returned........stupid raven.

hedgie said...

Hornby cam is back up.

wvgal_dana said...

So sad about the egg at Sidney. Paula couldn't finish watching video. I guess I'm just too "feeling feeling" right now. NOt the right word but you know what I mean. Thanks though for posting the video.

paula eagleholic said...

The first Sidney egg was due to hatch Friday, the second egg on Sunday...so it's a waiting game to see which egg the raven got....the parent incubating was gone just over a minute or two...it doesn't take long...ravens are very smart.

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie-Lynn and Margy the guy that came to set me up for Comcast TV told me a good one. Their daughter was doing a Science Project for school Told her parents she was finished it. Dad and Mom came to look at it. Dad said, "Honey it is great but you are missing a planet". "No", their daughter replied. "It has all the planets". The Dad and Mom both said, "No honey it doesn't. Your missing Pluto." Their daughter proceeded to tell them than NO LONGER IS PLUTO considered a "planet because it is too small". It is just called a star now.

Lynn had you or Margy heard about that?

Oh, Paula, I didn't mean the raven was stupid in it's brain....just in it's heart!

movin said...

Dana, I knew something had changed with the classification of Pluto, but I didn't recall what exactly. I googled it and came up with this (there's more to the article in Wikipedia though):

Pluto, formal designation 134340 Pluto, is the second-largest known dwarf planet in the Solar System (after Eris) and the tenth-largest body observed directly orbiting the Sun. Originally classified as a planet, Pluto is now considered the largest member of a distinct population called the Kuiper belt.[note 9]

Wow! It's getting temps for a Hot Tuesday! I've been here but I forgot to say Good Morning around 10 due to a phone call taking me away.
The Mining disaster is still taking its toll of humans. I cannot imagine the feelings of devastation that is being felt.
The raven was one smooth operator and it breaks your heart to see that happen. So far this year with all the cams we watch, there have been quite a few heartbreaks! That is Nature.

Ragdoll said...

Good Afternoon, My Fine Eagle Friends!!! I've missed all of you. I have fallen behind on reading. Have lurked when I could and have been getting a daily peek of Palmer. He is growing fast.

Just saw the raven stealing the egg at Sidney. Almost couldn"t watch it. Sooo Sad!! BAD RAVEN BAD!!! My heart goes out to the parents.

Palmer is getting lots of shading from his parent.

BWO seems to be getting that nest in order. Each time I look one of them is there.

Is the blog acting strangely for anyone else today??

First the count on the front page is way different from the count on this page.

But the real strangeness is that every time I post a comment, the blog takes me to a blank page, and I have to click the "Back" button to get back here.

It does post my comment however.

OOOPs sorry thought I read Hornby. It was actually Sidney that lost the egg. That couple has had many a rough year too especially food wise.

Ragdoll said...

I pray for the people involved in the devastating mining disaster. This is so sad and breaks my heart.

I have been praying daily for Chrissy and family.

Here in Maine my flowers are all coming up. Tulips, daffodils, day lillies, bee balm, hollyhocks, and more. They are a month and a half early. Amazing!!!

glo said...

I think I need more tea or coffee. Since no comments re my error , you probably didn't read it anyway, but I think I will go delete it. You have all the right info on here albeit sad re Sidney. argh

movin said...

Wonder why the parent at Sydney left the eggs untended...

That was a costly mistake.

Ravens and crows are supposed to be some of the brightest of birds ... as far as man can test an animal.

That raven must of been off in a distant just waiting it's chance. Yes Jim, a very costly mistake.

Yep, Dana, they declassified Pluto a couple of years ago.

Jim, Paula said the eagle was off the nest only a minute or two. The raven must have been just waiting for the perfect opportunity.

No blank page, but the count has been off most of the time for weeks!

hedgie said...

I swear, I think the still cam is ahead of the live cam.

hedgie said...

New thread is up! Come on over.

paula eagleholic said...

Dana - Poor Pluto was "delisted" as a planet a couple of years ago.

Lynn - I knew what you meant about the raven!
