Mits said...

SUZANNE there were snow flurries at the nest yesterday at KENT, and, it was snowing during the Seattle-Packers game last night.

Suzanne said...

Oh, thanks, Mits. That explains it then. Still dark, but you can see some of the ground through the tree. Have to look hard, but you can see the tree as a darker shadow.

Mits said...

Both panda cams are working and both pandas are looking for treats.

Mits said...

Suz, all they need is some Christmas lights now at KENT.

Anonymous said...

Morning, Mits!

Suzanne said...

LOL, yeah, that would be neat.

I noticed coming in yesterday that a lot of people used the nice weather this weekend to put up their Christmas decorations and lights. Very pretty ride in these days! Well, when you can see through the fog we've had for the last 2 nights!

Paula, did you have fog on 15 when you came in? It was heavy between Thurmont and Fredrick this AM. Then at Point of Rocks and half way to Leesburg, but that's almost always foggy. Road parallels the Potomac.

Suzanne said...

Almost getting daylight at Kent.

Mits said...

There is snow in the nest at KENT. NO EAGLES THOUGH, YET.

Mits said...

MORNING PAULA, THANKS FOR THE COUNTDOWN

Mits said...

OMGOSH, look at the snow in the Kent Nest!

Suzanne said...

I KNEW it snowed! And I wasn't seeing the ground in Kent, I was seeing the nest! Covered in snow, it was lighter than the tree. Too bad we can'nt get closer, we could see prints from the eagles.. we'd know when they had been there.

The Engineer almost got me

Hello Everyone... Eagles in the snow photos were awesome. I'm not certain how the eagles perceive it.
Getting ready to have family dinner for b-day grandson this evening.
ButaBall really looks large in that nest bed and sure is moving around.

Anonymous said...

Eagle in FL...NOW the cam decides to keep freezing up!

Anonymous said...

That is really cool when the cam moves in... That nest is deep.
I wonder if Steve and NCTC staff ever see these different cams?

That FL cam makes you feel like you're
Swinging in the Breeze

Anonymous said...

Mits Do you know or have you looked for a blog on FL site?

Mits said...

Yeah, kinda wonder that myself, Jo??? Thinking the cam freezes up, when Lynda is taking a shot of the eagles, like when the one just flew off, it was a great still-shot.

Anonymous said...

Jo, You could email Lynda White, her email address is right there on the site...she may know of one...

Mits said...

I don't know, Jo, have not looked, when I have a comment or question I just e-mail the cam-keeper, Lynda. Her address is on the site and as I have sent you some of her responses to my questions and comments, she is really on top of things and her finger is on the cam button.

Anonymous said...

I'll look for it on the FL Home Page

I am still watching the CNN cam when I first sign in on their site - If I go to read cub updates & return to cam, then it is the earthdata cam. Same pics and I noticed last night they both went down about the same time around 5:00. Is it the same with all of you?

Mits said...

I just always go straight into the zoo-cam, Jo.

Mits said...

Lates updated and text on FLA. cam was on 11-20-06, talks about them copulating and bring sticks into the nest.

Best of luck for your son and his family, Nilla. Things will work out, I'm sure.

Merry Christmas (early season) to you all, and God bless you.

Good morning, Eagle world! No fog today till I got to work, now it's rolling in. You can actually watch it. But beautiful day out, it's actually warm. Feels like April, not November. Yeah, enjoy it while ya can, gonna get COLD this weekend.

Have to do mail and will check the blog from yesterday. All have a great eagle day! Won't be long now.

Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Suzanne said...

Read blogs. Prayers for your son and his girlfriend, Nilla. Hope they have a healthy baby.

MemaJo, your grandson is a very nice young man. Tell him Happy Birthday for me. Sounds like you had an awesome dinner! And dessert, love spice cake!

Mits, thanks for your running commentary on the FL eagles! Love reading about them. And the Kent eagles after I leave for the day.

Gonna be busy here again, so better get on with it.

Suzanne said...

I was just outside, it is VERY foggy! Be careful if you have to drive to work. It's hard to see the top of the building right next door!

Mits said...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE Warm and Foggy right now...surprised it is not foggy down in Cambridge.. Morning, Suzanne.

Mits said...

Mei Xiang is outside and Tai is still sleeping...lazy butt.

Mits said...

My bad...it was Tian out side...Mei is still inside eating. and Tai is still sleeping.

Suzanne said...

Morning, Mits! I'm surprised about the lack of fog in BW too. I expected to see it rolling in this morning when it started here.

black bird just landed in BW.

Suzanne said...

Well he stayed one refresh. Must not have been very interesting...

Mits said...

There was a little tiny sparrow for a few minutes yesterday. Can't wait for their eagle cam to go up sometime in December.

Suzanne said...

Yea, me either. Lisa said they were going to go up shortly after the Thanksgiving holiday. But their eagle cam page says see you in December. But they want to test it before nesting season begins in ernest, so maybe it's up where they are and they just haven't turned it on for the public yet. Just look at the difference between this year and last. Last year we watched our babies, this year we're watching the world! (With eagles all over the States.) How cool is that!!

Anonymous said...

Good morning everyone. Warm out here too, working outside cutting some greens this morning trying to stay ahead of the rain and cold winter air that is coming our way. Hope everyone has a great day!! BBL

Mits said...

Big difference, Suz......eagles have taken over my life:):):)

Mits said...

Good to have you back, Megan.

Suzanne said...

Hi Floralgirl! Glad you're getting back in here!

Yup, mine too, Mits. I've always loved eagles, but never had the opportunity to really just watch them!

eagle-eyed sharon said...

I don't know what you all are talking about - eagles taking over your life!! :):):) ROFLMAO!! Without a doubt, it has deeply enriched my life!

Good morning all my eagle buddies. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Remember to do random acts of kindness. The rewards are great!

TTUL this afternoon.

Mits said...

Eagles taking over my life....what eagles:):):):)!!!!!

Suzanne said...

Oh Mits, how exciting. You could be our up front reporter on his doings! That would be so cool. Well, it wouldn't be eagles taking over your life, it would be pandas!

Suzanne said...

Man, it's not EVEN getting daylight in Kent. It's 7:10 there now, but it's as dark now as it has been all night. Bummer.

Suzanne said...

I've come to the conclusion that the Kent eagle cams are down. The only thing that updates is the time, not the pics. Darn.

Suzanne said...

Hark! We have a picture in Kent. Cam 2 only. Snow still in the nest, but it looks dirty now. MT nest.
