Top half of house vacuumed. Bottom half will have to wait! Going to the garden in few. When I came back in, gonna pour a tall, cold glass of iced tea and feast my eyes on Bob's Utah beauties! THANK YOU BOB FOR NOT MAKING US WAIT ANY LONGER;)
Good afternoon everyone. Happy Earth Day and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JO'S SON. Thanks Bob for the call over Have to run but will look at pictures when I can enjoy them
you can read the nest news on their page, Jim, they have been sighted there, along with some sea eagles, some kestrils, and something else, But I have not personally seen anything yet...they don't lay their eggs there till after the 1st of May
Hi, Everyone, Well, I'm back from the EDD, and in a real funk. A nice lady there looked up my records, and told me that all my unemployment benefits have run out. She said that if the government votes in another federal UI extension, I will hear from them, and could be eligible in that case. Have no idea what I'm gonna do now. Early SS sure wouldn't be much--I took 17+ years off to be a stay-at-home mom. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!! Have a small pension coming from the newspaper I worked for last, but not eligible until December of this year. Well, gang, please start praying!
Andy, I thought Senate just approved an extension last week.......call your Senator and ask!! Keeping fingers crossed that it is what she was talking about!
If I had to choose which of the 3 parks Bob visited - I would be lost. I was thinking that through Bob's pics I really feel like I have been to UTAH! That must have been a wonderful trip!!
Jenny & Aaron came for lunch and stayed for a visit! Aaron brought his banjo and guitar and well - I just love to hear him play!
Can't believe it is raining over there Hedgie. Our sky is still very clear but it does call for afternoon showers. I bet Megan was doing the rain dance!
Lynn, the recent legislation apparently didn't extend UI benefits, it just extended the deadlines to file for it. The maximum benefits anyone can receive are 99 weeks of UI. Once that's over, you're done. As of 4/12/10, about 85,000 people have exhausted all benefits, and the EDD estimates that in weeks to come, 100,000-130,000 unemployed workers could run out of all benefits. The lady at the EDD said, "Believe me, it's not you--there just are no jobs to be had. THere are as many as 200 applicants for each new job listing." She continued, "I'm a baby boomer too, and I'm hanging in there myself, with 3 more years before I can collect SS--and my health isn't that great."
love banjo and guitar, bet you were in pickin' heaven ! xo
sorry Andy, to hear of the setback, also, your Eurasian collared dove pictures, and the Glads are great! Glad you did not have that heart attack! When you need your rest, you must really need it !
Lynn, just black with blue on the wings? did you see any yellow? could be a spicebush, or maybe a fritillary, I'm looking in my butterfly books, Loretta would know ☺
Bob - I am going to check out those photos when I can cruise through them slowly... my brother, "Prairie Dog John" was at Bryce for research and studies for a couple of years.... thanks in advance, we have been waiting on the "virtual tour."
On a much happier note, I figured out what the new bird was that we saw yesterday. It's a Swamp Sparrow--and must have been attracted to the Santa Ana River, 2 blocks away.
Happy Happy Earth Day!!!!I dug out my green "Nat'l Celebration of the Outdoors" T-shirt & wore it to the eye Dr. Got it many moons ago at Park. I can almost see now & am done having to blink by command! Need a Big Panda Nap! Will be putting some pics on Blog soon---not too great, but? There are too many leaves out! I will have to change my Shmoo, as he doesn't have giant wings! Happy B'Day to your son, Jo!!!!
Oh, yes~~~read Lynn had a black & blue butterfly. Might be early, but if it didn't have any tails, red-spotted purple. The mourning cloak comes out early & flits very quickly. It is really a dark brown & has yellow & blue wing borders. If it hade tails, could be black S., spicebush S., or female morph of tiger swallowtail.
SPICE CAKE????????????? my FAVORITE, and always what I have on MY birthday! Hope you and your son have a great birthday celebration Jo!
WOO HOO there are FIVE bluebird eggs in the box here! I last checked on Monday and there were only 4...seems we had eggs laid then on Friday, Sat, Sun, Mon, and Tues!!
I hope they succeed this year...sure was a hard bit of nature to swallow when I went to check the nestlings last year and found instead a black rat snake in the box :( Yes Jo, the eggs are blue...I'll post some pics on my blog in a few...
Lynne - one season at this nest box the bb laid eggs but a swallow took over and redid the nest covering the eggs and laid her eggs....... I am actually thinking then that the bb came back and took it over... Anyway it was quite a go around!
Hi, Gang, I got to school just at the right moment, and they are going to set up my student loan application for '10- '11 for me. I have an appt. next Tuesday at 10 am to finalize everything. Yay! Looks like this IS a happy Earth Day, after all! Will be going back to school for a test tonight, but soon as I'm finished with the test I can turn around and head for home. Teacher's on vacation this week!
Thanks for the directions to the "English" button on the Finny site, Mits.
I've looked several times to the left where it has been ... didn't even know they had stuff to the right this year.
Great to be able to read the notes, as I can't make heads or tails of the Finnish language. It's supposed to be related to Hungarian, if that makes it easier for you.
Jo, this year, our bluebirds actually tried to nest in the "real" bb house out front but got beat out by a house sparrow. I kept trying to chase him off, but he won. So I showed him...everytime he put nest materials in the box I took them out and he finally left. By then the BB's had set up house in another box. Pics are on my blog.
Andy, sorry the UI isn't extended...boo! Hoping the student loan pans out okay. Are you going to have to try to find a job now before you finish your classes? I hope not!
Rain moving this way again now---getting very dark; possible thunder predicted, too. If so I will have to shut down for awhile. Wind has stopped....the calm before the storm?
Jim, I haven't been able to get the cam to run all afternoon.
Looks like Palmer and both parents got plenty to eat, and Liberty flew off.
Both adults had fish, but I didn't see how that came to be.
The live feed is working fine here, Hedgie; so maybe you need to at least shut down your browser and clear your caches.
I don't know the age of your computer or how much RAM you have, so if you are on the slim side of resources. you could restart the computer.
Anyone who has a machine that's a couple of years old at least, and who hasn't added the maximum RAM possible, could possibly up your capabilities by adding RAM strips.
It's easy to do if you know anything about computers, or you can probably get somebody else to do it locally.
Lynn, I'm not sure--I might have to find a job--if there's someone who'll hire me! Nobody seems to want to hire someone my age, with so many younger people also applying. Once I get through my classes, the school will find a job for me, but just have to get that far!
This note is under the live feed. I tried several times, but all I get is "unable to play video"
Note: At times, you may experience the live feed not auto-starting. Please press the Pause/Play button a couple of times. The live feed should then commence. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Put eagle nest & some EENet critters on Blog. T^hose baby piglets are a scream! I'm surprised they don't get stepped on by the big blokes. Lynne2, I saw 2 chickadees checking out bluebird box by Park Office. They didn't bring nest materials, but later a bluebird went in. You're so lucky to have some & their eggs are spectacular. Starving---then want to see Bob's pics.
Finished dinner - getting ready to head over to son's.. I was just going to ask Hedgie if she were getting more rain when I read her comment. Really windy here and getting dark out there.
As our eaglet celebrates it's first 30 days in the nest, it continues to grow with the fine diet delivered on a regular basis by our two adults. You'll note that the first plumage is beginning to grow in, they are the darker patches you can see, and the young eagle will begin to preen itself of its first layer of grey down feathers with the growth of the new feathers.
While the adults will still feed the eaglet, it has opportunities to pull off food from the various fish and other prey left in the nest. It is also quite mobile and able to move around the nest. Again, note that even when you see no adults in the nest, they are almost always perched in the tree, keeping close watch.
Once the first plumage is more developed, you'll be able to note the first pre-flight exercises-jumping and flapping. But don't expect that for a few more weeks yet. Remember the time from hatch to fledge is about 12 weeks, and this eaglet hatched on March 21, so the fledge will occur in late June.
MEGAN was correct...the garden was JUST RIGHT for planting. Gene got the potatoes and onions in and I got the lettuce and spinach. LET IT RAIN!:)
Has anyone decided on a nest visit date?
We got a message about our church friend, Joyce. Not much new, but thought I'd share it.
Sister Joyce Fink : Her first surgery is over! Preformed at Johns Hopkins Hospital on Tuesday the doctors froze the tumor on her kidney and are optimistic that the kidney will function normally. Joyce returned home on Wednesday and is resting well at home. Further surgery will be required to remove the other kidney but has not been scheduled yet. Results from a bone scan done at Hopkins have not been reported. Junior is at home providing loving care for Joyce this week. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
I think that the bone scan will reveal whether or not the cancer has spread to her bones. I pray not.
Wow, I have just been to Utah. What fantastic pictures, each place having its own unique characteristics. Went through Utah once to California, from Salt Lake City, saw some of this landscape Was a most fascinating adventure it was
News Flash~~~~just saw a lightening bug!!!! Thought I was still doing the field of vision test at eye Dr!
Wanda, good hopeful news about your church friend! More prayers ☺~~ Margy, what a lucky sight!! Will go to Utah after show---Nat'l Geo. is doing Galapagos--fitting for today!
Good Night, leaving room for others on here Hope all you precious pals are having a nice evening RED FRIDAY tomorrow, bless our Military, Active and Veterans
Prayers for wellness, and comfort from troubles...
Was tonight Shirley's bridge night?? Hope she had a good time! No word from Judie today...and it was her last class day until exams in May!! She might be celebrating already!
Hi, Gang, I've made it home from school, and after I got here I did a load of wash, and cleaned up the kitchen. Now I can start early tomorrow and work in the back yard, IF it's not raining yet.
Haven't caught up on the blog much, but good news about Joyce! Prayers that she'll be totally healed!
Bob, will check out your Utah pictures in the morning, very early. Lived in Utah for a couple of years when I was just a kid, and LOVED it!
Hey, Crunch! Good to see you here--howya doin'?
Wanda, prayers for your garden--that God will bless it!
Margy, what a FANTASTIC sighting! If I saw an eagle that close, you'd have to pick me up with tweezers!
Well, gonna go veg in TV land. Leaving the night light on for lateniks, and the porch light, too. The eye scanner security is enabled. Prayers said for everyone--and Chrissy, I'm buying lottery tickets tomorrow! (((HUGS)))!!! Sleep tight, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Good night, and God bless! Love all you guys! :o]
Thanks, ANDREA, for the good wishes for my garden. I do hope the Lord blesses us with good crops this year. Last year was very disappointing...nothing grew well. We wait all Winter long to put out our garden, then to not have it produce well, is so much time and energy wasted:(
I didn't get a chance to look at BOB'S photos either. Came in from outside...fixed supper, then just vegitated all evening.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... Still asleep, I see. Time to wake up and smell the coffee:)
When I first tuned in to our nest, a message on the screen said it was unable to show video, but a short while later, there was Palmer being fed by Dad with sound that was not nerve shattering! When Palmer was full, he just plopped down and went to sleep. A real couch potato:)
Happy Birthday Anne Marie!! Another gorgeous day here, have a great one everybody :) I wasn't asleep, I'm not posting cause there's no computer in the garden..)
We are closely observing Mei Xiang, our female giant panda, for signs of pregnancy. We have not confirmed that she is pregnant, but are happy to announce that if she gives birth, our web cams will live stream the event. Beginning tonight, Friends of the National Zoo volunteer behavior watchers will be observing Mei 24 hours a day to monitor her behavior, and our scientists will continue analyzing her hormones so we can better estimate when she might give birth.
We remain hopeful that Mei is pregnant and invite you to stay tuned to our panda cams for the latest news. Please be aware that we are limiting viewing sessions to five minutes, which will allow for more people to view the pandas via the cam. After five minutes, you can refresh the page to reconnect. If you are unable to connect, try the other cam or try again later. Read our panda updates and follow our Twitter feed.
Thanks for your continued interest and for supporting wildlife conservation around the world.
Sincerely, Bob Lamb Executive Director Friends of the National Zoo
04/23/2010: Seili communication link is again broken. The most likely cause Sääksikameran recent interruption in the old post office is Nagu remodeling caused by breaks in the backbone network Seili.
Good morning! We are here in Kerrville, TX at the Buckhorn Lake Resort. Probably you could google it and see where we are. OMG the wild flowers were unbelievable on our drive down. It was like driving in a flower garden. Remember the pics I sent out through EM, well, that is close to what we saw. Could not take pictures as it is hard to stop when pulling a trailer and it was raining! Maybe on the way home I can get pictures.
Oh, and on the way home we are going by the eagles nest at Llano. Sooooo excited! The young should be up high and possible flying.
Had fun last night. Out to eat Mexican food....12 of us. Had fun! But, back here at the RV stayed up late in Sharon's RV talking. ☺
Also, yesterday would have been our Mother's 94th birthday. We gave her a present by all being together.
Today we register for the reunion and visit. Tonight is dinner.
talked with local DNR officer this morning, he confirms Osprey nests IN the lake (on trees or platforms) AND he saw two juvenile bald Eagles maybe 3-year olds flying over a few days ago, about 3 mi as the Eagle flys, from the Lake Also he met up with a man this morning with electronic bird song devices he was headed up to the Sleep Creek Wildlife Management area. His last name begins with an "H" but he forgot his name ALSO: the roads up to the lake have been improved recently by DOH
Lolly if you come back, Jack-in-the-Pulpit pics on my wildflowers link, shows Jack IN the pulpit...maybe YOUR Jack would get a kick out of that ☺ Enjoy yourselves, sounds like you are !
Hey, Lolly! Glad you are having fun. Nice borthday treat for your Mom...know that she is smiling on you all.
Mits, what a crazy translation!!! Hope whatever they are doing doesn't take long!!!
Great Mei info....let the wait and watch begin!!
Margy, thanks for talking to DNR guy.Good info! Wonder what his interpretation of improved roads is?? LOL!!! Some of those holes were big enough to swallow the Eagle Express before!!
Good sunny morning to you all! Cleared emails - checked some cams - and have read your comments. Really need someone to check out the roads at Sleepy Creek.. I know gd said that you really needed a 4-wheel drive. But to sight those eagles would be worth the trip.
Must head over to see bobs pictures while I enjoy a cup of tea.
Wanted to stop in and say good morning and that I have like 600 photos form yesterday to go through. I wish the tree had been 50 to 100 yards closer but I loved every minute I spent there which was over 3 hours. I have some memorable pictures to share even if they aren't the greatest. Will post to Glo's Glimpses at some point today.
I will definitely get in another trip or 2 before they fledge IF I don't start hearing that the nest view is blocked by the leaves. Right now at one angle its not too bad.
LOL I see Palmer is tweaking a few nervous moments. He/she has plenty of room in the nest. We have just been watching long enough and read enough stories to be more nervous than when we were actually watching 3 of them fit on there. We were nervous but I guess ignorance was bliss to some point too. Palmer given his/her namesake could have quite a spirit of adventure onboard too :-)
I have the live feed up on my IE Commercial played and then cam started but I don't have sound at the nest. I still do NOT have any of the play/start - timer - or volume controls. Here is a message under the cam pic that I got: Note: At times, you may experience the live feed not auto-starting. Please press the Pause/Play button a couple of times. The live feed should then commence. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Yes Magpie Jean seems to be doing some better each day. Sugar kind of still all over the place but she has learned to do her insulin shots. She says she feels very very tired and I do see that in her face. I hope its just much needed rest after her really sick week. They seem to be finding non dairy products to eat that she likes ok. I think she has tests and sees Dr on the 30th,
Glo Thanks for the update... guess it will take some time for all the adjustments and accommodations.... tiredness, surely goes along with such a new regimen Diabetes...in several of my family members...difficult ailment prayers continue...(( hugs ♥ ))
I opened the cam page on IE and it works ok, have controls under it. But sound is a loud hum, and the picture is bad, seems like it has some sort of interference affecting it also. later....

THANK YOU BOB FOR NOT MAKING US WAIT ANY LONGER;)

Jim
Good afternoon everyone. Happy Earth Day and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JO'S SON.
Thanks Bob for the call over
Have to run but will look at pictures when I can enjoy them
Wanda hope the garden does well this year
Stuff is being moved around on Finny's nest, and the snow is clearing from the ground, but I haven't seen an Osprey yet.
Anybody else?
[:~D]
Jim
Absolutely no luck restarting cam today. Have to refresh every time....argh!
And now I have nothing but a black ATWT.
you can read the nest news on their page, Jim, they have been sighted there, along with some sea eagles, some kestrils, and something else, But I have not personally seen anything yet...they don't lay their eggs there till after the 1st of May
Lynn - That blue bird at Bryce is a Steller's Jay. Very pretty and very noisy.

Hi, Mits. Do you read Finnish?
For some reason the screen I get does not have the English option button on it this year.
[:~D]
Jim
it is on the right side of the page, Jim....says, "in English"
Thanks, Bob!!! WIll look it up for more info!
Andy, I thought Senate just approved an extension last week.......call your Senator and ask!! Keeping fingers crossed that it is what she was talking about!
It has gotten very cloudy and breezy here....still comfy temp at 68.
And now it's raining......hmmm!

Panda Nap time, back later
Good Day, everyone xo
On a much happier note, I figured out what the new bird was that we saw yesterday. It's a Swamp Sparrow--and must have been attracted to the Santa Ana River, 2 blocks away.
Gotta run now and TCB at the school. My student loan for '10-'11 sure better pan out! Will BBL, hopefully with good news about that! :o]
Good Thursday afternoon everybody. Palmer has been all over that nest today.

BBL, gotta get coffee.......
I already had my 3:00 cup coffee - we'll have an early dinner here and then go to son's for Spice b-day cake.
I love to see the dark feathers Palmer is getting. Guess he could be called a teenie bopper now!
I think she has done 5 eggs last time.
Now to get her incubating them.
Lynne - Are bluebird eggs blue in color
I hope they succeed this year...sure was a hard bit of nature to swallow when I went to check the nestlings last year and found instead a black rat snake in the box :(

Bad news for us'ns.....Powerball was a single ticket winner from Missouri......hey, maybe it was my mom or sister! Sorry, Chrissy....we tried.
Wow, I open the live feed (the still is so bright I can barely see it), and there are Liberty AND Belle both eating and both feeding Parker.
[:~D]
Jim
Hi, Gang,
I got to school just at the right moment, and they are going to set up my student loan application for '10-

Jim
Loretta and Margy, didn't see any yellow or any tails on these flutterbys.
Just had the local hawks fly past so close that I could have touched them if I had been about 15 ft. tall! Looked like one was chasing the other!
Never ceases to amaze me the way birds fly through the woods so fast and don't smack headlong into a tree!
I hope Glo got some good eaglet pics today after traveling that distance to the nest.
I guess that Sissy and Mattie Jane are on their way to the competition......
Jim I did the same thing looking for the 'English' button...
Mits had to straighten me out too!
Well, that sucks Lynn
Jo, this year, our bluebirds actually tried to nest in the "real" bb house out front but got beat out by a house sparrow. I kept trying to chase him off, but he won. So I showed him...everytime he put nest materials in the box I took them out and he finally left. By then the BB's had set up house in another box. Pics are on my blog.
That is good news Andy!
Mema Jo,
Where are my manners?!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your son!!
Well, would you look at that! I finally got the live cam working, and EVERYBODY is at the nest eating din din! That sure makes my day!
Thunder and lightening. Bye!!
Looks like Palmer and both parents got plenty to eat, and Liberty flew off.

Yes, Mema Jo, I'll second that:
Happy Birthday to your son.

Awwww--look at Palmer's big footsie!
S-O-O-O cute!
I see the Lady Osprey at BWO is lying in the egg bowl. Do you suppose ...??
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
BWE eaglet eating on its own!
2 ospreys at BWO, I think one brought dinner!
Nope, No fish at BWO, but female laying in the nest again
This note is under the live feed. I tried several times, but all I get is "unable to play video"
Note: At times, you may experience the live feed not auto-starting. Please press the Pause/Play button a couple of times. The live feed should then commence. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Hmmm, sending an email to outdoor...when I click on the black area for the cam, I get the ford commercial...
Hmmm, I can hear a bird singing at the nest, but there's no video
Well, I am getting cam again now, but it's doing the 12 second pause.
Jim, you have email!
Storm was short-lived. Sun back out. Looks like maybe Belle is shielding Palmer so maybe there now.
Well, now he's popped back out form under her!
My cam was OK on Firefox.
Finished dinner - getting ready to head over to son's..
I was just going to ask Hedgie if she were getting more rain when I read her comment. Really windy here and getting dark out there.
Well I'll be back..........
hmmm, that was my firefox saga...in IE I got the full Ford commercial and a frozen pic with spinning arrows and no sound.
Must be me then...sent the email anyhow...
Should be soon, Jim~!

Spring Update #4 - April 22, 2010
Earth Day 40th Anniversary
Happy Earth Day.
FYI...12 weeks for Palmer would be June 13th.
Right you are, Paula. Thanks for posting update....I didn't notice it this morning when I first brought up cam.
just sent Lisa a pic from BWO, and sent it to some of you too...maybe an egg???? I'll wait to hear from her, maybe someone else got a pic.
sure does look like one.
Lisa thinks it is a yes for egg...mtbr.
lol...she already put it up on BWO page:)
Mits We are going to have to start calling you Eagle Eye II
no, no, Osprey-Eye:)
Right I am off to watch Survivor
I pray not.
Survivor...gonna be a good one, CEIL!
continued prayers for Joyce:)
Good report about Joyce, Wanda!! Pray that the bone scan will be negative.
Saw Palmer poking his head from under Belle....cute big eaglet!
Saw that Lisa already posted, Mits. You are the Osprey Momster!!
That's good work Mits!
Great picture, just checked the link at BWO ...you had that hunch it was close
Paula thanks for catching the new update for NCTC and passing it on for us
Thanks Wanda for the update on Joyce....prayers for a good outcome as further testing is done
I saw a Bald Eagle at Swinging Bridge this afternoon
Flew over while I was standing on the bridge talking to two fishermen in a trolling boat beneath.
Something little was chasing after it
Almost full color, so probably, a four year old..nice white tail and mostly all white head....
I was most beyond excited...fishermen saw it too
...
no pictures, and no return flyover.
Wow, I have just been to Utah.
What fantastic pictures, each place having its own unique characteristics.
Went through Utah once to California, from Salt Lake City, saw some of this landscape
Was a most fascinating adventure it was

Hi ya, Crunch!
Isn't Margy a lucky Momster???
Holy Smokes! One last look around before hitting the sack:
There is fresh snow at Finland !
It was a gift given, Lynn...
I was very grateful for the sighting, it was just too quick!
Hi Crunch Bob the Bear Watcher
okay, good night now xo
MAGPIE hAVE A GOOOOOOD ONE
Lovely view at Finland right now!
Was tonight Shirley's bridge night?? Hope she had a good time!
No word from Judie today...and it was her last class day until exams in May!! She might be celebrating already!
Lynn, I think Judie is celebrating by sleeping! Bless her!
Hi, Gang,
I've made it home from school, and after I got here I did a load of wash, and cleaned up the kitchen.
Happy Birthday Anne Marie - Today is your special day and I am hoping all your birthday wishes come true.
Have a great year ahead
Headed back the hallway
Good Night All
Prayers for all wants/needs
Prayers of thankfulness being given
((((hugs)))) ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Thanks, ANDREA, for the good wishes for my garden. I do hope the Lord blesses us with good crops this year. Last year was very disappointing...nothing grew well. We wait all Winter long to put out our garden, then to not have it produce well, is so much time and energy wasted:(
I didn't get a chance to look at BOB'S photos either. Came in from outside...fixed supper, then just vegitated all evening.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNE MARIE,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!
Have a wonderful day!!
Goodnight, one and all!
Prayers and peace.

ENJOY YOUR DAY♥
Good morning all. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNE MARIE
Happy Birthday
Beautiful Anne-Marie
Hope it is your best birthday, ever! xoxo ♥
Good Morning Eagle ♀'s and ♂'s
Hope it is a good day for everyone in all our Eagle Corners
Red Friday
xo
Morning, all!
Too quiet here this morning!
WAKE UP!!
I can't get into any FWS sites...
And the blog is a mess too, must be why no one is posting!
Happy Birthday Anne Marie!!
Another gorgeous day here, have a great one everybody :)
I wasn't asleep, I'm not posting cause there's no computer in the garden..)
Good Friday a.m. everyone.
not posting here, too busy in emails and looking at other cams:)
Morning all! Pretty day here, so far. Going to try to do some stuff outside before the weekend of rain sets in!
Palmer is alone at the moment. No problem with cam---yet!
update from NZ....
Sincerely,
Bob Lamb
Executive Director
Friends of the National Zoo
update from FINLAND CAM....
04/23/2010: Seili communication link is again broken. The most likely cause Sääksikameran recent interruption in the old post office is Nagu remodeling caused by breaks in the backbone network Seili.
Sure hope Mei has a little one.
yep, sure do hope so:)
Happy Birthday, Anne Marie, hope it is a good one:)
Happy Biiirthday to Yooouuu!!
Happy Biiirthday to Yooouuu!!
Happy Biiirthday Dear Anne Marie!!
Happy Biiirthday to Yooouuu!!
So, I take that as Finland is remodeling!
Guess they haven't been able to see anything on the ultrasound
don't know what that translation at Finland means....but don't know when they will fix it either.
as far as I know, nothing on ultrasound yet....but not unsual given the size of a cub...4 to 5 oz.
Sun is out...hope it stays out!
HUGO'S OLD NEST
looks like there might be a new hatch there
5 eggs in the American Kestrel cam, another of Deb's favorites
American Kestrel Cam
Hello Lolly and Jack !!
and hello more Morning Folks ☼
thanks for that Stork Nest news Helen
beautiful view, lots of chirpy birds too
love to hear the storks "clack" or whatever it is called
that's a nice thought for your Mother, Lolly - nice present ♥
and yay on the flowers and the Eagles
talked with local DNR officer this morning, he confirms Osprey nests IN the lake (on trees or platforms)
AND he saw two juvenile bald Eagles maybe 3-year olds flying over a few days ago, about 3 mi as the Eagle flys, from the Lake
Also he met up with a man this morning with electronic bird song devices he was headed up to the Sleep Creek Wildlife Management area.
His last name begins with an "H" but he forgot his name
ALSO: the roads up to the lake have been improved recently by DOH
Have not been to the BWO cam yet, but yea for you, Margy for seeing the egg and announcing it. Way to go.
I am going to turn the puter over to Jack now. Guess I could share.☺
Have a great day everyone!
NO NO Not me Lolly, it was Helen !
And she captured the picture that is on the BWO link...
Oh, Lolly, sounds great..and you get to see the Cottonwood eagles as well! Enjoy!
Look at Palmer in the nest, he is surely growing up!
I've been watching the Kestrel cam and until this morning, could only see the Bird in the nest, not the 5 eggs.
Lolly
if you come back,
Jack-in-the-Pulpit pics on my wildflowers link, shows Jack IN the pulpit...maybe YOUR Jack would get a kick out of that ☺
Enjoy yourselves, sounds like you are !
Palmer almost looks like a little duckling
Happy Friday everyone
ttfn xox
Happy Birthday Anne Marie
Your FB page is spilling over with good wishes from so many!
Yes, I really think we need a new
panda cub! Oh my that would be great!
Wow, Palmer is making me nervous !!
egg in view at BWO !
dar nit! Was....
Palmer needs a harness...a safety strap...or a parent right now !
Happy Birthday Anne Marie
Palmer given his/her namesake could have quite a spirit of adventure onboard too :-)
I have the live feed up on my IE
Commercial played and then cam started
but I don't have sound at the nest.
I still do NOT have any of the play/start - timer - or volume controls. Here is a message under the cam pic that I got:
Note: At times, you may experience the live feed not auto-starting. Please press the Pause/Play button a couple of times. The live feed should then commence. We apologize for the inconvenience.
sounds great Glo...will surely look forward to those pictures
nice comparison of our Palmer with his/her namesake
Hope to hear that Jean is doing better each day ☺
I can't even tell you the last time I had live feed up Jo
chores to do here
ttfn
xo
Let's just say that the sound I do have is just the high pitched hum.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
GOOD Morning,
EveryboDy.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
[:~D]
Jim
Good Morning Jim
Hope your day is great
Yeah, my live feed is not feeding on FireFox either.
But Norfolk is up again.
I'm glad the BWO pair finally got a start.
[:~D]
Jim
looks like a sea eagle at FINNEY'S nest now.
I think the male is on the BWO nest right now.
Do you think Lisa will reduce the delay time on the cam there now??
[:~D]
Jim
Sure wish I had sound at the nest - Palmer just let out a yell or two for someone to come down from the tree limb and sit with him or feed him.
Without controls I had to hit Refresh and start it completely from the beginning.
guess that did not work:(
Mits somehow your blue things don't work anymore. I know the nest but others may not
don't know what happened :(
Bob I so enjoyed your photos. Left you a message.
I think she has tests and sees Dr on the 30th,
http://kotinetti.suomi.net/saaksi/index.php
you can just copy and paste in your browser
think it might be a juvie sea eagle there now...beautiful
OMG Mits!
That is awesome !
Thanks !
and I saw it just in time!
Poof !
Glo
Thanks for the update...
guess it will take some time for all the adjustments and accommodations....
tiredness, surely goes along with such a new regimen
Diabetes...in several of my family members...difficult ailment
prayers continue...(( hugs ♥ ))
Thanks Mema Jo. I tried Explorer, and I can get the live feed.
Sound is nothing but a hum though.
[:~D]
Jim
looked like that sea eagle OWNED that nest
Hey, Finney, where aarrrrr uuuu??
[:~D]
Jim
Looks like the lady Hummer has laid a first egg this morning....
[:~D]
Jim
Jim On your IE live feed -
Do you have the controls under the cam pic?
Finney demo definitely shows at least one chicklet....maybe two....hard to tell!!!
I opened the cam page on IE and it works ok, have controls under it. But sound is a loud hum, and the picture is bad, seems like it has some sort of interference affecting it also. later....
nice two new pictures Paula of Gianni Kat and brother...
just found them now ☺
Hi Megan, zipping through like a little hummingbird...
xo
Good views of the PH/Santa Cruz chicks and the TH chicks too.
[:~D]
Jim
Yes, Mema Jo, I do have the controls.
Also, I just turned up the volume again, and I think I heard Palmer peeping ... not so much noise either.
[:~D]
Jim
Palmer is panting heavily, but the Weather Channel says it's only in the low 60's there ....??
[:~D]
Jim
I have the live feed on FireFox now too, but the hum is there, and the picture is fairly wavy.
Seems I recall the noise in the pic and on the sound is due to the solar power system. Isn't that right?
[:~D]
Jim
Well, Jim, I am panting heavily watching Palmer on the Still Cam!
Tyke is taking affection for the tree trunk !
Good day to you, and thanks for the hummingbird nest egg report
xo
Happy Red Friday, for YOU
Well Jim and Megan - Maybe one day they will give me back my controls!
I know my time is up (10 mins) when I can't hear the hum on my speakers. lol
GOING TO
S P L I T
Duh, demo is from last year!! Stoopid me.
Out to do some work. BBL.
