Yes, Lynn is correct about the Soup Kitchen. It is NEXT Tuesday. We decided to have it every other Tuesday until we get a handle on things. When we feel more organized and have more guests, we may plan the meal to be every Tuesday:)
The Hummer is building a new nest today in the rosebush; the cam is focused on it now; and I just saw her alight in it and proceed to add some material to the walls of it.
From Minn. Owl Cam: Bad news to report. Our camera has failed, not the equipment or internet connections, the camera itself in the tree. This camera is currently 75 ft in the air and with live owlets and mama 5 ft away we are strapped for choices. We are still investigating options and hope we can swap cameras. Stay tuned...
Hope that Margy and Lolly and Jack all have safe journeys!
Got stuck on the old thread while writing a small book, so will bring this over:
Ms Bookworm said... Good Afternoon, Everyone!
Boy, I must've been TIRED last night! Fell asleep after dinner, and watched TV through my closed eyelids!
Have been busy cleaning house and studying today.
Whoopee! Our feathered friend the Spotted Towhee is back! Gosh, he's pretty! But now the gardeners are here, and scaring off everything with feathers, they make so much noise with their blower! Rats.
Have read back a little to try to catch up. LYNN, so very sorry to hear of Carolyn's loss of her dog. Please give her my heartfelt condolences, and a big (((HUG))). I am truly sorry. I'm sure, though, that her fur baby had a wonderful life with her.
Wanda, so sorry to hear of the problems that GG has had, but glad to know the medical tests all came out OK. Prayers that she improves rapidly!

Prayers continue for Joyce--for a complete recovery!
Have to share this picture with you guys--Hubby bought some glads at the store over the weekend, and they are finally starting to open. Love the color!
Paula, Thanks for the link on the last thread about the eaglet that fell out of the nest. So very glad the little one seems to be doing well, and has apparently found a home at the zoo!
I'm very lucky to be honeymooning in Kauai this week but have had Chrissy and family on my brain. If anyone has heard from her, please let me know.
On a happier note, we have had lots of birding on our trip. Our condo in Princeville is on the ocean with a golf course between us and the water. And, we have our very own Laysan Albatross nest to watch, complete with a flightless (so far) baby. So very cool. The nest is located on the edge of the course right on the ground under a tree. Mom and dad come in regularly to check on the baby and it's just so awesome to watch from the deck. Good thing we brought two pairs of binocs or we may have had our first fight. hahahaha This place is beautiful!!
Thanks Lynne2. Today is THE day for Chrissy and Frank. My heart aches for them.
Just watched our Laysan baby wingercising. Oh how precious. Parent is out there too. They just stay at the nest with golfers moving about all around. Incredible.
no Susan, THE day is next Monday for them, the 26th....according to her email. It must be simply torturous for them to have to prepare to leave their home.
Thanks for the update Lynne2. I can not even imagine what's going through theirs heads right now.
Looks like all is well at our nest. I looked earlier and thought there was an "air" between Belle and Palmer. Then read blogs and saw where they had a tiff. So funny how you can tell when something is not quite right, even with our feathered friends.
I remember last year when Hidey decided to throw a fit with mom... who flew off.. and Lib had to come in and have a chat with Hidey. You could just hear him saying, "Now son, you can't treat your mother that way." Kids....
WVsUSAn, congrats on your wedding and on such a great honeymoon location!!! Neat viewing, but so strange that their nest is on the ground--scary!!
No one has heard from CHrissy since last week...:( The 26 th is the actual day; the "hearing" was a couple of weeks ago, with no reprieve. They did get on the housing list, so praying that something opens up by Mon. Can't imagine the pain they are in.
Hi Hedgie -- yes, the nesting is on the ground for the Laysan albatross and very common. Not many predators, I guess, that will take on a bird this size -- 8 ft wingspan. Just amazing. They nest on the flat ground because they need flats to land and take off. Learning a lot about the sea birds on the island.
Went to the Kiluaea Lighthouse and saw red footed boobies doing their dance in the air. wow They bow up their backs and flap their wings, flying backwards. I'm just loving it all.
Our Pastor has sent out a message about our Sister Joyce:
UPDATE
Joyce came through her surgery at approximately 1:00 p.m. and she is doing fine. At the moment, she is still in recovery waiting for a room. She did experience pain but God is so good to create pain medicine. The doctor confirmed a high possibility that it is cancer, but the biopsy will determine that. Kidney is functioning well, and the prognosis is good. No date for the surgery of the other kidney. Most likely, she will be discharged tomorrow morning. Please keep Sister Joyce in your prayers, as well as her family
Haven't read comments but did seen the one Wanda mentioned: Prayers for both ladies.
I had to have sister-in-law drive me yesterday to Winchester. Could not take pain any longer in neck going down arms. Came home and slept most of day was an early appt. because she has to leave for work at 1pm.
Today I have had nothing all morning with tearing from the left eye. Drip Drip Drip....I could understand if it were allergies. Just the eye. Before the right now the left--at one time both. I give up !!! Left I still bothering me.
Prayers for those that need them. Praises To God for answered prayers.
Wanda I have my eye covered but tried to read some comments. I hope you can get GG into that other Dr. Not eating right as you've said before sometimes is just from not eating with others. Although that tireness and dizzy. I am worried?????
Hedgie-Lynn I am so so sorry about Carolyn doggie "fatso". Our companions mean a lot to us. Truly they give and give so much to us humans. Rainbow bridge has another special doggie waiting to join his Carolyn in time.
WOW Bob pictures did you get one of a gray fox????
Wanda, good news. Prayers still on the way for Joyce and GG (and you and Gene).
Dana, so sorry for all your problems. Drippy eyes are so uncomfortable and make life difficult. Wishing relief soon. Do you know what was causing the neck/arm pain?
Congratulations, WVsUSAn! Hawaii is just so beautiful -- don't believe I saw any dancing boobs -- I mean boobies.
Sure wish Chrissy would get in touch but suppose she's busy with trying to sort out her life.
Checked in on Palmer earlier and some of the others critters. All was quiet.
Tired tonight. Finished grading 100 critical thinking assignments. Have 50 papers headed my way on Thursday. Almost over.
Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others.
Dana, you asked about GG seeing the new doctor...I was able to get her an appointment in June. I tend to think her main problem is lack of nutrition. I have been taking in her meals nearly every day and she usually eats all of what I give her. I guess that is the answer for right now. She still wants to stay in her home. I told her about the property that is for sale right next to ours, but she STILL wants to stay in her own home! What a blessing it would be is she still lived beside me.
Has anyone notice the strong winds at the PH nest? The dad is working really hard to keep the chicks in the egg cup. He almost got blown off a couple times. He's sitting on the chicks now.
I have been busy researching sites for my students to use for their research. In other words I have been researching research. Learned a few things, too.
Must rest now. See you later. Tomorrow is my bridge day.
We don't know where Miss Norma has been! She had told Jo last week she was busy. NOW....where is Jo??? She's been MIA today....Brunette alert!!! Dana, hope you get to feeling much better quickly.

Boris does look like he is stringing Christmas tree lights all around the nest.
I have so many prayers in my heart for so many that have wants/needs - I pray you will all be heard and that all my intercessions for you will be answered.
Yes, Jo....if only! Jack just said that there are a whole hell of a lot of rich people out there who do not know how to be happy. He could teach them. lol
Hi, Everyone, Just got home from school a few minutes ago. Haven't really read the blog to catch up, but tomorrow is another day.
Prayers for those that need them (who doesn't?). Thinking of Chrissy a lot today--can imagine what she's going through! Shirley mentioned prayers for Joyce and GG, so I'm joining in with her on those, too! Prayers for everyone being said. Gonna go veg in front of the TV now. Leaving the night light on, and the porch light. The eye scanner is enabled. Sleep well, everyone, and I'll talk to you in the morning. Good night, and God bless! Love you guys! :o]
Good morning everyone. Had a busy couple of days. Neighbor home and adjusting pretty well to med changes and diet changes. Using a walker as she still seems pretty weak and unsteady. Got called into work yesterday afternoon. Dex and I are heading over to coffee and dog treats and check on our "patient's" night :-). So its drizzly at the nest. Hmmm Will be good for Megans flowers I imagine. Enjoy your day.
GOOD MORNING... Yes, Lynne, it is raining here in Nestville. It is 48° and only going up to 63°. It is just a very light drizzle right now...I don't think anything drastic is expected. Hope not, Gene finished up plowing the garden yesterday, but we were both too tired to plant anything (I mowed). Today is my doctor day (just annual blood work) and GG day, so hopefully, we can plant tomorrow.

Good morning. Just a quick hello. My class in watching a movie in preparation for writing about human rights violations.

Prayers for sure for Joyce.
I think their soup kitchen is every other week, Margy. Right, Wanda?
Good morning! Black screens are NOT the way to start the day. Thanks for your 911 call Wanda and thanks John for the info.
Going to visit a few cams then start the day. I'll start loading the trailer and then work some in the yard. 60 here and bright sunshine. Yea!
Oh you might be right about that, Lynn...about the soup kitchen - I can't remember - I might have that CRS disease
Thanks Shirley for the new thread alert and Steve for the new thread !
It has been very slow on the blog recently and I must say I miss Norma. Guess she is just very busy. Hope that is the only reason!
Prayers for Joyce, Wanda.

Thanks for the link on the last thread about the eaglet that fell out of the nest. So very glad the little one seems to be doing well, and has apparently found a home at the zoo!

How's Daisy? Any word on Pearl's adoption?
Andy, if you have a test tonight, I know you'll have all the answers.
Sorry I missed Palmer doing his preteen act.
Goodnight.
So I guess you know the live feed is back.
I don't think anyone mentioned it Megan...I haven't had a chance to turn it on..thanks.
Where's Jo?
Got to get some scanning done...BBL
OK, Sharon mentioned something about a tiff...guess that meant the live feed was back on this afternoon.
I see a spidey web...
And spidey!
Yes the live feed was back on this afternoon. Lib and Palmer had a pecking fest twice.
spidey is weaving tonight...
And a really busy Spidey at that!
Hi everyone.
Has anyone notice the strong winds at the PH nest? The dad is working really hard to keep the chicks in the egg cup. He almost got blown off a couple times. He's sitting on the chicks now.
What does spidey hope to trap in that web? A wushi?
Just stopped in for a moment.
Later....
Have sweet dreams and a great day tomorrow.
Hello!
I have been busy researching sites for my students to use for their research. In other words I have been researching research. Learned a few things, too.
Must rest now. See you later. Tomorrow is my bridge day.
God bless and good night.
Well, it says my comment has been saved, but it has been saved for awhile now. Maybe I can push it on.
Had to check out the cam to see what spidey has been up to if for no other reason. Sparkly web.
We don't know where Miss Norma has been! She had told Jo last week she was busy.
NOW....where is Jo??? She's been MIA today....Brunette alert!!!
Dana, hope you get to feeling much better quickly.
Shirley and Judie...I will be so relieved for you both when this school year ends! You are working too hard.
I am not looking at cam if Boris is there...........yuck!
Spidey, is not there at the moment, Lynn. Just a very annoying web. Grrrr!
Hi all! Boy did I have a busy day. Started packing for the trip and then worked in the yard. Got a lot done. The lawn looks good if you look at it from a distance. lol The rain has caused a lot of fungus and rot and the grass does not look to well. However, the flower beds look great and the yard is neat. It is also amazing how everything is growing. The rain has been good for some things!
Jo is fine! Busy lady!!!!
Lolly, I had been thinking that it was Falling Waters C/G you stayed at. I'm sure you'll like KOA at Harpers' Ferry.
Listen, gal....don't walk through that fungus-y grass barefoot or in sandals....you can get fungal infections of your feet/toes from it! If accidentally are exposed, wash feet with regular old Listerine.
Laurel had a scary story this evening. She had to be at school early. Joseph was with her. His school is right next door. When it was time she sent him on his way walking to his school. A middle school student started following him, making funny noices. Joseph walked faster. Boy walked faster. Joseph started running, the boy started running. A teacher at his school saw the whole thing. She followed Joseph into school and he was upset and crying. My baby!!!! She called Laurel, reported to her pricipal, who called the middle school principal. Laurel walked out and there was the boy. She said the "momma bear" came out. She was yelling at the boy. Took him to the office. The office is handling the situation. They called an officer in to talk with the boy. She will inquire tomorrow to find out what action they are taking. Apparently he has a reputation for trouble and being "weird".
Oh, gross! I have not been going barefoot recently. Still too cool and the ground is so yukky. I usually have on socks and tennis shoes.
I am alive and well! I was real busy most of the day with Kristen (daughter)
and then after dinner I went shopping with dil, Susie!
This evening hubby got me to watch some TV.
Now I am waiting to check out my LOTTO tickets. If Only.........
Boris does look like he is stringing Christmas tree lights all around the nest.
I have so many prayers in my heart for so many that have wants/needs - I pray you will all be heard and that all my intercessions for you will be answered.
Good Night all
((((hugs)))) ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Yes, Jo....if only! Jack just said that there are a whole hell of a lot of rich people out there who do not know how to be happy. He could teach them. lol
Nite Jo. Sweet dreams!

GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS

Hi, Everyone,
Just got home from school a few minutes ago. Haven't really read the blog to catch up, but tomorrow is another day.
Prayers for those that need them (who doesn't?). Thinking of Chrissy a lot today--can imagine what she's going through! Friends of ours had the same situation, years ago, but it worked out great for them--they got a beautiful apartment that allows pets, at a fantastic price, and have been there ever since. Praying my very hardest that the same sort of thing will happen for Chrissy and family.
(((HUGS)))!!!!

Wanda, hope GG gets better fast. Prayers for all of you.
Prayers for Chrissy too. She sent me a b-day ecard but notheing was said of her present condition, so prayers continue.

Paula, little Gianni is adorable!!
Lolly have a safe and wonderful trip.
Margy I hope you're going a fun trip.
Enjoy!
Bob, I waiting for those pictures ...
I know they'll be spectacular.
If I've left anyone out, please forgive me, my meds are starting to make me very sleepy so I must get to my chair.
God bless each and everyone of you and keep you safe!
Morning all! Palmer all covered up by adult, sounds like the drizzle has arrived at the nest and not too far off here.
Have a GREAT day♥
