GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... Looks like we are going to have a repeat of yesterday, today. 56° right now...going up to 79°. Maybe a little warmer, but we'll take it!
Glo, lots of flowers will bloom indoors if cut in bud, in fact most will. Something I used to do as a child and showed my children, is to put food coloring in the water that the daffodils are resting in and the edges will turn color. Blue or green is the prettiest, but red is fun to see too. Children love this.
Bob it looks as though you had a wonderful weekend with your camera. The pheasant is such a beautiful foul - its feather patterns are fantastic. Bob #18 in your yard - is that a winter-berry bush?
Hello everyone - glad/hear to see you here.
Thanks for the live cam heads-up, Megan. He sure is growing!
I checked on Noah but the camera at the hack tower is still being repaired.
Watched the Bearwalker last evening and want to see it again. Thanks Margy for the suggestion of looking at the schedule - maybe I'll tape it.
slept through the alarm but just saw the launch on the weather channel earthquake report coming up and the bad weather forecast for the Midwest, Hang on tight, Glo
looks like Dunedin Osprey chicks have taken their flight from the nest also a link on the site for a collapsed Eagle nest, also in Dunedin, one eaglet injured, taken to a rehab center other two chicks still in the nest which isn't much of a nest anymore
JO I think my daytime plans include a trip to the Creamery somewhere between Boonsboro and Frederick... I can get my Ice Cream Fix! James and his Nana and some more plus me will make that trip
Bob's pheasant photos took my breath away...one of my favorite birds. It is a rare sighting in our area, but we used to have a lot of them in our woods...then our neighbors stated a "cat farm" and all the beautiful ground bird that made our woods home, left us:( I wonder what the eagle was looking for in the tall grasses? Maybe a frog?
As you start up the mountain out of Boonsboro, I think it is up on the left. As many times as I have traveled RT40 A you think I would know. There should be a large sign....
That's actually the first time I've ever seen a pheasant. It was just off the side of the road and then I saw a second about 1/4 mile further down the road.
Yes, Deb would have loved the pheasant photos, especially. I was looking over some of my photos this morning and came across the ones that I had plucked out to use for one of her memorials. Still miss her a lot♥
Well then, Bob, it must have been a breathtaking sight for you too! Sounds like the one that was 1/4 mile away might be a mate. Look later for some little chicks:)
Just watched Bearwalker......so interesting, but also sad....made me cry! Loved their choice of music, too. Dr. Rogers is truly amazing. Wonder if the deer parasite that killed Mimi is what has been found in deer in a county near here?? They never named it.
Really enjoyed Bob's pictures! We used tohave lots of pheasant where we lived when the girls were little. Often had to stop while they moved out of the road. Saw them most often next to orchard that FIL managed.
just finished moving calendar pages up...beautiful Male Red Robin on Deb's calendar and the pics from the Patuxent River Park Road Trip from Last April, on Wanda 's calendar ☺
Lolly, Bearwalker will repeat Tues. 4/13 at 7PM or Weds. 4/14 at 2am on Animal Planet. It is titled Wild Kingdom and the episode name is The Bearwalker of the Northwoods.
Palmer is growing too fast. Wow! Just saw my first poop shoot. Thought Palmer was going to aim for parent at first, then turned a little. Better watch it Little One, you'll get a whooping!!
scroll down to "click here" to view camera, it's java... give it a little time, you will be asked if you want to run this program, it's okay to say yes... the viewing time if usually short, but you can then just click live camera and see it again... Helen can tell you more about how it works...

Email to Jim unanswered so far. Can't remember where his sister lives, but seems to me it might be south of LA....but doesn't sound like there was too much damage, or injury. Think I heard 2 deaths in Mexico..???
Palmer's looking good this afternoon -- especially with live play action.
Hack cam is up but looked like it is not refreshing.
Shirley, glad you had a nice family day and hope the dog/ring decisions are made soon.
Bob, gorgeous pictures. You must have had a seriously lovely weekend.
Bearwalker was really nice but did have a few tears watching Mimi dying. Also don't like the hunting part and was distressed that a hunter would be so selfish as to kill a collared research bear.
Margy, hope the creamery is open. Yum!
Ah, Mauly, the heart palpitations are only going to increase in frequency and intensity. If you're like me, you'll need Prozac before Palmer fledges.
Thanks for the info on bearwalker Lynn. Love how you can search their channel listing, you can even sign up for an email reminder for a show...I should probably do that for this one.
WandaThanks for the info on the food coloring. I am going to do just that. What fun :-) Ok and where is my camera. Oh I do know where that is all the time. Thanks again.
Got up early today with Hubby, then ate some breakfast and went back to sleep for a while. Since I woke up, have been trying to get some housework done. It's been raining here this morning--hard at times. Pretty windy sometimes too, which makes for the interesting experience of sideways rain! Haven't noticed any aftershocks, and hope that trend continues.
Recorded the Bearwalker show, and hope to watch it soon.
The birds here, I see, have cleaned out my bird feeders in 24 hours! There are a bunch of them out there, some by my patio door, so guess I'd better go feed them! What little piggies!--bless their hearts. We now have 3 Band-tailed pigeons that seem to be regular visitors. They sure are pretty, and I wish they were not so shy! They seem to be improving, though. Not quite as skittish as they were at first.
Well, gotta go feed the feathered friends, and do some studying. Will be back later--probably after dinner. Hope Jim checks in here soon! Will talk to you later--have a good afternoon/evening! :o]
wow, 86.2 now!! And there are clouds building up in the west, almost as if to try to start a spring thunderstorm! It's too hot...gee, I sure wish it was winter and I was shoveling 40 inches of snow off the patio. NOT!!!!!!
Just got a call from GD in Hedgesville They took the children fishing at Sleepy Creek . I don't know Sleepy Creek but Melissa said they went to the 'quiet' side - away from the traffic up by the second site for camping. The boys and Sophia were catching salamanders with a 12 yr old boy they had met up with. In talking with him he mentioned the bald eagle nest! I think it would be a juvie -no white head but some white tail feathers and splotchy white under the wings. (I don't think it was an osprey) She saw the nest, saw the eagle dip into the water for fish, back to the nest. Of course with 4 children you tend to forget your camera - it was in the car which was pretty far away. She said you had to have a four wheel drive to get where they went. The boys were really excited at the sighting - Joseph had even brought his nature book with him. So that was the highlight of my day - hearing about the Bald eagle
Oh, Jo, I'm so excited for Melissa, her hubby and the kids!! SO glad that someone among us has actually laid eyes on the eagle and nest!!! We gotta go! E-mail from Anne Marie.....felt no quake in her area. She hadn't heard about it.
Winds were higher than 10 mph here. Bad enough that I had to fight the wheel a bit when I was driving. Lots of dirt devils in a plowed field and a construction site.
Oh, no! That mine accident sounds awful! Prayers for everyone involved, and I hope all those unaccounted for are found safe!
Dropping in to let you know that my Sis-in-law is planning on coming by after work tonight, so I'm here now to say howdy. Got the birds fed, but will have to go to Wal-mart tomorrow and get another big bag of bird seed. They've officially cleaned me out! Had enough to hold them until about lunchtime tomorrow, though. Oh, the air smells SOOO clean after our rain! It's still kinda breezy here, too, but NOT Santa Ana winds. Boy, look how Palmer is growing! Just amazing, isn't it?! Well, Hubby is home, so better go now. Will be back, but probably kinda late tonight. Hope to 'see' you then! :o]
As soon as ‘Bearwalker’ ended this evening, the phone began to ring and emails rolled in. Many people were very moved by the documentary. The first email was from a hunter incensed that “someone who calls himself a hunter would shoot an animal with a collar on it, and especially one that small.” This kind of support from hunters will help ensure the safety of the collared bears during future hunts. We’ll continue to work with hunters to gain their cooperation in sparing research bears.
Update on the Emmitsburg bldg fire...guy tried to commit suicide by burning the building down...has been arrested for arson.
The 150 yo building has been condemned. Can you believe the owner didn't have any insurance on it? Heard he paid cash for it several years ago...I would still have had insurance on it, especially if you had 17 apartments in it...
So sorry to hear about the mine explosion in West Virginia. Prayers for those involved in this disaster.
Wow, has our little Palmer grown. Looks less cute and more gangly right now. What a difference two weeks makes.
I went clothes shopping. Bought two outfits, a watch,a purse, shoes, and got a haircut. I've lost a little weight. Was able to go to a different department to make my purchases. That was fun. Have not been clothes shopping for awhile, and really needed some new things. It does help lift the spirit to have some new outfits.
Just back from a trip to WalMart.. Needed battery for riding mower..
Very upsetting news about the Mine Explosion. I pray that the 21 missing will be rescued and the families/friends of all those in the blast will be in my prayers.
I don't know if it's really working or just and anamoly, the cam asked if I was still watching and I said yes and so it kept going...hope that thing really works now
Good evening Eagle Buds!! We just had a big ole thunderboomer a minute ago, passed quickly though. It had pretty good sized hail with it too! Tom was on the porch hollering "MY TRUCK, MY TRUCK!!!" LOL
Shirley - it sure does lift your spirits - especially in a different department!
Sissy - I can just see Tom now! Not funny but since no dings from the hail - it is funny! Guess you miss your little gal! When does she and Justin come home?
Evening Everyone! Was looking at Bob's great photos & had Live on IE (dumb), heard fly in, chirping, & some crunchy noises. Couldn't get out of Bob's album~~~~frozen again. Guess I learned my lesson---open Live in Firefox only!
"Hi, Jo, Lynne... Sorry about the lapse, but I got home late from my sister's place last night, and I've been crapped out off and on much of the morning. [:~D] I was driving still when it struck and getting close to my sister's place, but I didn't feel anything I could I.D. as a quake. I did hear something on the radio though just before I pulled into a little mall down there to buy some wine for the dinner. The guy in there was really excited and said it was the strongest one he ever felt. Didn't see any broken bottles though. My sister and everyone there had felt some heavy rockin-and-rollin, but they didn't have any injuries or damage either. "
Paula, that's awful.. Was it a tenant, an employee or the owner??? Guess he's sorry now big time. Foolish owner not to have insurance. Hope the tenants had renters insurance. Really a shame that the building can't be saved.
Shirley, a little shopping is good for the soul. And a smaller size always lifts the spirit. Hope you are on the mend!!
I was still driving and getting near my sister's place south of Oceanside-Carlsbad area, and I did not feel a thing. I did hear a report on the radio though, and as soon as I started talking to people down there, they obviously had felt A LOT OF "SHAKE-RATTLE-N-ROLLIN."
No damage and no injuries though, and we had a great Easter dinner and visit...mostly family, but they had one nice lady from their church for dinner too.
5 April: We do not expect the remaining egg to hatch. This is not uncommon, and viewers from last year will remember a similar situation. The egg may not have been fertile, or it may have been damaged, or it may have become infected by bacteria drawn through the pores of the shell.
So guess they will just be raising one eaglet...if it too does not fall out of the nest.
I've kept up the prayers for Chrissy and family at NOON time. Even though I haven't been on the blog.
These past couple of days. I have seen a lot of vehicles with kayaks on them. Surely makes you think of OUR SWEET DEB. Oh how I miss her pictures and stories of her adventures. What trips I went on with her and never me leaving the house.
Wow, we sure need lots of prayers tonight...for Officer Ayala and family, for the miner's and families and of course for our Chrissy. It's been nice to see her back on email. Tomorrow is the 6th. We must pray extra hard for her now.
I just decided that I better get on here and say that I am watching TV - Damages 10-11. I finished some paperwork and now I am ready to be confused again! lol
Talk to you all before I head back the hallway.
Lynn - I wonder who it was that I saw jump off that bridge! I try to remember some of the flashbacks! lol
Lynne, I'm so glad that Army Wives is back! Seems like it's been forever since last season. Deadliest Catch starts next week, too! Minus Capt. Phil, of course. :(

Magnificent Photos, again, Bob..of course.
Deb would have loved that Pheasant, the state bird for South Dakota
Margy - the nest that collapsed in Dunedin is the one that they fostered "Hoover" into..they are not sure which chick fell when the nest collapsed.
my Forget-me-Nots, planted from seeds sent by my sister in Massachusetts, are starting to bloom☺
see that Paula, thanks....
tough situation there, If it's Hoover, then I guess that's his second misfortune

Oh My! Paula I swear to you on bended knee that 1/2 hr ago it was not up - I only saw the old yard of Noah's.
So glad you set me straight.
When I saw the pheasant photos I immediately thought of Deb!
Well then, Bob, it must have been a breathtaking sight for you too!
Sounds like the one that was 1/4 mile away might be a mate. Look later for some little chicks:)

Good morning! Just have a second, Jack is vacuuming...maybe I should do so picking up???
Is there a schedule for reshowing Bear Walker? Help!
Going to clean house and then head outside.
Hope Megan gets to feeling better.
Wish Palmer would move to the center of the nest! Thinking of Chrissy.
Just wanted to share with my peeps on here that "with the quickness" was one of Donna's favorite sayings! :)
Really enjoyed Bob's pictures!
We used tohave lots of pheasant where we lived when the girls were little. Often had to stop while they moved out of the road. Saw them most often next to orchard that FIL managed.

Palmer is growing too fast. Wow! Just saw my first poop shoot. Thought Palmer was going to aim for parent at first, then turned a little. Better watch it Little One, you'll get a whooping!!
Palmer really wants to get under the parent.
Wow, I don't think we are supposed to be having to get nervous yet over Palmer, are we? Got really close to the edge at 3 o'clock. Geez!
Didn't know they followed Chinese calendar! Learn something new everyday.
just a guess on my part, Lynn:)
Back to work!
Lynn

good luck, Lynn:)
Good afternoon everyone...stopped in to see how the baby Palmer is doing.
Hey, Sharon, I see your stutter got cured!
Lynn, know the xray will be perfectly clear.

Oh that sounds just like how our Spunky would look this year. I think you got it right MeMa Jo
Jo, FB is showing Jim Online; tried chatting, but he's not answering. Guess the fact that he's on means he's okay!

oh no this is terrible new....prayers for all involved. I better turn on the TV
Oh-oh. Another mine accident in WV. 6 dead. 14 unaccounted for.
Winds were higher than 10 mph here.
Bad enough that I had to fight the wheel a bit when I was driving. Lots of dirt devils in a plowed field and a construction site.
Hello, Everyone,
Oh, no! That mine accident sounds awful! Prayers for everyone involved, and I hope all those unaccounted for are found safe!

Quick visit.
Noah is practicing wing flapping and looking very much like a soon-to-be gone eaglet.
Palmer alone and doing some neck stretches.
Andy, enjoy the evening with SIL.
Jo, glad Melissa and family had an exciting eagle adventure.
Will stop now with prayers for the miners, their family members, and their friends. Tragic event.
That is terrible about the mine accident :( Everyone involved with the mine, and the families are in my prayers.

Got back from a shopping trip awhile ago.
Sorry, meant to say hello.
Just think . . . only a few weeks ago that nest was covered in snow and we were worried that we weren't going to have an eaglet this year.
Just back from a trip to WalMart.. Needed battery for riding mower..
Very upsetting news about the Mine Explosion. I pray that the 21 missing will be rescued and the families/friends of all those in the blast will be in my prayers.
Parent just arrived our nest....time to eat
I don't know if it's really working or just and anamoly, the cam asked if I was still watching and I said yes and so it kept going...hope that thing really works now
Great view of feeding!
Poop Shoot!
Just saw a beautiful poop shoot!!
Good for you Shirley, it does feel good to have a couple of new things to wear!
Palmer is eating bigger and bigger pieces...and does a much better jog of eating!
Good evening Eagle Buds!! We just had a big ole thunderboomer a minute ago, passed quickly though. It had pretty good sized hail with it too! Tom was on the porch hollering "MY TRUCK, MY TRUCK!!!" LOL
Man look at that crop!
Palmer has a full crop, but still asking for more food. Plenty of chirps.
Adult at back, bringing a stiffy fish to the front.
Too funny! Parent just dropped a bunch of fluff on palmer!
George came over to request some pats. Likes to have his head rubbed.
Rearranging food in the nest. Looks to be a good supply. Must smell really fishy.
Did you all see Palmer flapping his little wings just now?
Palmer is telling Belle that "I like it here right in the middle of my nest"
Yay, it worked again!
No wonder Palmer is hardly moving, look at that crop!
Shirley - it sure does lift your spirits - especially in a different department!
Sissy - I can just see Tom now!
Not funny but since no dings from the hail - it is funny! Guess you miss your little gal! When does she and Justin come home?
I personally think that is Lib.
Parent arranging fluff for Palmer, so now he just poked through it all, now trying to snuggle under parent.
Evening Everyone! Was looking at Bob's great photos & had Live on IE (dumb), heard fly in, chirping, & some crunchy noises. Couldn't get out of Bob's album~~~~frozen again. Guess I learned my lesson---open Live in Firefox only!
10 min ago I thought it was Belle...
Yes, now it looks like Liberty...
For sure it is one of Palmer's parents!
That is as good as it can be said!
Unless we get those head/neck band, Sharon! Remember?
Size and color is right for Lib
Oh, I do remember Mema Jo. We really need that! Nu, can you help us?
My feed is all choppy all of a sudden...
well now from this angle it looks like Belle...
I was just thinking that too, Paula. Looks like Belle now.
Parent is watching something!
ALL HERE AND ACCOUNTED FOR
"Hi, Jo, Lynne... Sorry about the lapse, but I got home late from my sister's place last night, and I've been crapped out off and on much of the morning. [:~D]
I was driving still when it struck and getting close to my sister's place, but I didn't feel anything I could I.D.
So glad to hear from Jim!
LYNN - 10 o'clock tonight! Damages
I thought I was about to get rain here. Thunder and wind, but I don't think anything happened.
Taking a break - bbilw
Lib just came in...eating nestovers...
I think Belle just arrived.
Peeping....
LOL Sharon, I think it's Lib, white shoulders....lighter.
And he always does nestover cleanup!
Big Baby Palmer is peeping away~~~"Feed me more!!!"
Palmer making a fuss.
LOL. I just figured that if it was Lib, Belle would have taken the food from him.
Hi All
Is Palmer ever unhappy
Palmer makes enought noise for 3 eaglets!
Spidey went down the tree.
Adult munching and Palmer chirping big time. Sounds more like an eagle tonight. Got that eagle waver in the call.
Jo, I was really confused for awhile until I realized that you were quoting Jim. Thanks for sharing. It is good to hear from him.
Naw, she lets him eat the dry nasty nestovers!
Boy has that eaglet grown. Until he/she started wiggling I thought it was food brought in. lol
One poofed. Got a family pic off Live.
Little tiny creepy crawly was going down the tree trunk. Maybe Belle will eat it!!!!
That was a tiny creepy crawler, wasn't it, Loretta. I was happy to see it going down the tree, not up towards the camera.

Jim
I got some FaceBook queries about the quake.

Jim
Jim, it is about time you check in!
From OK....
I saw a video on-line taken by a group of American missionary kids driving near the Mexacali mountain range.
They REALLY felt it in their vehicles, got out, and while it was still quaking, started shooting the enormous dust cloud arising from the mountains...

Prayers again for the miners and their families.
Congratulations, Shirley.
Turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others.
I see the second egg at PH has hatched. 9:~D]

Jim
Judie, I will join you in prayers for Officer Ayala. That was a tragic accident.
Good to see you checking in Jim.
Bob the pictures were awesome....like most have mentioned that Pheasant made me think of Deb. To think that is the first you seen on ------NEAT !
Your flower pictures made me feel like I could smell scent the flowers where putting off.
Jo the said there were Bald Eagles and Osprey at Sleepy Creek.
Nice sighting for Melissa to hear about.
You know I've said Liberty and Belle's offspring before Spunky and them
have to be coming back within 100 miles of NCTC. Never know??
Sad about the mine accident. Prayers for those missing,. injured, and their families and friends.
That is ashame about the 150yr old building. Darn guy grr Prayers for those renting.
Night-night, Judie!
Hey Shar and Bev and Thelma: On DWTS, Edyta and Aiden Turner just danced to Hey, Soul Sister!!!
Jim, thanks for update. We are all relieved to know that it was a lot of shake/rattle/roll with no serious consequence!
Going to say good night. I will watch the rest of DWTS from my bed. God bless and good night.
Wow, we sure need lots of prayers tonight...for Officer Ayala and family, for the miner's and families and of course for our Chrissy. It's been nice to see her back on email. Tomorrow is the 6th. We must pray extra hard for her now.
Well, gotta eat, find some lighter weight slacks for work in AM. (They probably won't fit---awful how they shrink in the drawer over winter!!)
Good to hear from Jim about earthquake & all is well. I was shocked to hear about mine accident! Prayers for all involved & for our Chrissy & Family.
Bob's pics are spectacular--beautiful pheasant & neat to see eagle in marsh on muskrat lodge.
Dana, that is so funny you say that about the kayaks. I saw them all weekend during my travels and thought about our Deb too!
I heard the person singing Hey, Soul Sister murdered it though.
Other crawlies on nest tree & above---not spiders--look like big ants. Hope Palmer doesn't get ants in his pants ☺ .
Our great white and brown hunter just stalked a boxelder beetle that flew into this room!
If I don't get back tonight, Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
That is true, Shar....but the beat was there!
Goodnight, Shirley.
Lowreeda, know what you mean about the slacks!! Such a puzzle how they do that!
Jo, 18 mins. until Damages!
I just decided that I better get on here and say that I am watching TV - Damages 10-11. I finished some paperwork and now I am ready to be
confused again! lol
Talk to you all before I head back the hallway.
Lynn - I wonder who it was that I saw jump off that bridge! I try to remember some of the flashbacks! lol
Lynn - 8 more minutes until Damages !

Jo Ellen, Lynn Ellen thought she was seeing a ghost....but it was ELLEN who was seeing a ghost. Weird, weird, weird!
Too bad about OK. Hope nothing else goes wrong for that nest.
So Lynn, his mother never told him it was his daughter........
Lynne, I'm so glad that Army Wives is back! Seems like it's been forever since last season.
Deadliest Catch starts next week, too! Minus Capt. Phil, of course. :(
