A couple little highlights at the Park today. Right behind the Visitor Center is the River bank w/trees at the top where we are. An osprey kept flying back & forth over one tree and you could hear chirps. It seemed like there may be another osprey in tree w/ fish, but NO, a juvie eagle was there saying "Uh Oh" as osprey tried to chaser it away! Could not see well because of the leaves!!! Some of staff found out that the pink lady slippers are starting to bloom!!!!Hooray. After work checked a spot where I've always seen one & that was it--just one!Was surprised how much is blooming. A couple I have to ID yet.
Back from a nice day and evening with kids and grandkids. Will post a couple of pics. So glad it didn't rain up here, got to play outside for a couple of hours.
John came home and cooked steaks on the grill, I made Ajay a sopapilla cheesecake (with some help from the boys!)
P.S. Paula, my SIL Shannon has a birthday tomorrow, too!! So Happy Birthday early birthday to Ajay and Shannon. HELP...I CAN'T GET CAPS TURNED OFF EXCEPT BY HOLDING DOWN SHIFT KEY. CAPS LIGHT IS NOT ON, EITHER.....WTH?????
LORETTA...please, please, please, show us a photo of the pink Lady Slipper Orchid!! I love those. They have been on the endangered species list in the past, I would guess that they still are. I hope to own one some day.
Hi, Everyone, It's been such a busy day for me! Hubby & I met my Sis-in-law for breakfast and a chat to get caught up. Then he and I went and copied a photo at Wal-Mart that we've wanted a copy of for him to take to work. Then we watched birds in the yard for a while (and I got some wash done), had some lunch, and went to the cheap movies. Saw the new Jennifer Lopez movie, 'Back Up Plan'. It was funny and entertaining. Watched some TV programs we'd recorded, watched the birds some more, had dinner, and watched some more TV. I'm about TV'd out by now!
Thanks for the video tribute to Tai--it's fantastic!
Oh, Shirley, I'm jealous--I haven't had ice cream in SO long! You've got me drooling! Hope you get a good night's sleep and have enough energy to prepare for Monday. Hope Judie is resting up, too! Maybe we'll hear from her soon.
Sure hope somebody hears from Chrissy soon. Just heartsick about their situation! Many prayers still going up for them! God bless them!
Well, think I'm going to go read for a while. Leaving the night light on for others, and the porch light, too. The eye scanner security is enabled. Prayers said for everyone. Hope we all get a good night's sleep. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Good night, and God bless. Love all you guys! :o]

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... We have a damp and gray morning here in Nestville. It is 51°, only going up to 65°...rainy a good part of the day:( But, cheer up, Wanda, it's good for your gardens. Suggestion: If you don't have a garden (even a 6ft x 6ft tomato patch), plant one and when it rains, you will rejoice!
Love the Loon cam, Lynne. Something so peaceful about watching that nest gently bob up and down and hear the sounds. I would love to go to Minnisota some day and see the sights AND visit that Mall of America. (I think that is where it is) If not, we'll find it:)
Wanda, I have spent some time in Minnesota. Nice place. It can get surprisingly hot and humid in the summer, and, of course, really cold in the winter. (My in-laws lived there for several years.) It was in Minnesota that I first heard the call of the loon.
I think we have some new greenery in the nest. Parent has arrived.
OH, forgot to tell ya'll, the newest contract for Mom's house went into effect...did inspection yesterday and appraisal is next. Hoping to settle around May 20th
its is just one of the signs, Shirley, but also happens during a false pregnancy too, have not heard if she has reached baseline hormone level yet, this could take days or weeks.
She does keep teasing us along, doesn't she, Mits? We will know when we know. Same as with the hatching of our eagle egg. We did not know until it happened. Nature still has its mysteries.
Good morning everyone. Got called into work. Still rainy here man that grass is growing :-(. Hope it isn't too stormy where you are and Palmer stays all hunkered down and dry. Enjoy your day.
omg, not an expert, by a long shot, Shirley, I just find the pandas fascinating, along with the eagles and osprey, and all kinds of animals, but always try to put things in proper perspective when it comes to nature.
the little stand is the platform bed, she is licking now, it looks she is licking the kong toy, but can't really tell....I told them at the assement meeting the other day, if I win the lottery, I am going to help them re-do the panda cam room
that is good Paula, I just always like to think if the house was a home with a family, that it would be nice to have a family again, but the pics of you Mom's house would be perfect for a couple or some MT nestors
Morning all! Palmer is looking very lazy....must have a full belly! Like the new nest-deco! Green...my favorite color. Hey, Thelma! How are ya', gal. We sure don't see much of you!! Do you have your puter back yet??
Paula we did get a sofa and love seat It's those recliner type - not sure I am satisfied with it. I need an overstuffed chair.
So Mei is going to take a break and eat something. Now she is looking downward.. Like the others I need to head for street clothes if I am going to accomplish anything today.
Due to a lot of visitors to this page, you may be unable to watch camera one. If you are unable to connect, try camera two. Today we are limiting sessions to five minutes to allow more people to view the cam. If you are unable to connect, try the other cam or try again later.
Paula, sorry you have to work today...:( Is there going to be a party for Ajay? So glad you got the better contract....fingers crossed that everything goes through!!
Here is another link for the Wildwatch site in Washington State, lets you go to the other cams there, including Osprey (which has a big piece of yellow netting in the nest this morning) burrowing owls, and herons. Not all the sites have a working live feed, but most have still image Wildwatch Cams
You may want to watch Mei on Daniel's panda cams.... When your time is up on those 2 cams it automatically restarts. Daniel's Panda Cams Now he has 2 San Diego cams and NOT the 2 DC cams - only one.

Daniel did a very good job with the video tribute to Tai! I loved it but made me feel very very sad!
Well Hopes are high for Mei to give another cub!
Taking a break - be back before hitting the pillows........
Evening, all!
Back from a nice day and evening with kids and grandkids. Will post a couple of pics. So glad it didn't rain up here, got to play outside for a couple of hours.

Steaks on the grill are always great
Good Night everyone

Paula you are making me hungry again!
Did you get to baby Gianni?
I MAY be going to market tomorrow IF
the rain disappears and I don't sleep in! I'll let you know if I make it.
Good night Margy - Right behind you.
Wish someone would get some kind of an update from Chrissy.
Prayers for everyone's wants/needs.
(((hugs))) ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
p.s. Pics of grandkids are great Paula
Thanks, Jo. Gianna went with her Mom to cousins bridal shower, but I got to see her for a couple of hours when they came home :)
Time to say good night. Very tired. See you tomorrow.
Wish Norma would stop by.
Also missed Judie today.
I made Ajay the cheesecake cause she really likes it, and her birthday is tomorrow :)
Shirley, we need to make another field trip to Loretta's workplace so you can see it. She has one of the best jobs in the world!!
Paula, loved the pics.
Heading for tub. Possibly near 80 tomorrow, but maybe severe storms late afternoon. We shall see.
Jo, I wish we would hear from Chrissy, too....:(
Hope everyone sleeps well, and that all aches and pains disappear, and energy gets restored. Love all y'all.
I see that the parent eagle is tenting. That must mean the rain has reached the nest.
Sounds like a plan, Lynn.
Okay...got it by dropping the keyboard onto the desk gently! Geesh.
Good night!

Good Sunday morning. Raining here very lightly.
Good morning. Having breakfast and checking the nest. Palmer is alone. I'll bet that nest is a bit damp this morning.
Happy birthday to A.J. and Shannon.
Would like to know how Chrissy and her family are.
Maybe the egg cup is dry. It almost looks like there is a dry spot where the parent tented last night.
LOONS!!! the one on the nest is making sounds...
Good morning!
both in nest, both back in water...no eggs yet
Palmer resting, BWO osprey on the nest
Looks like we could get some nasty weather later today in the area. More of a chance if it warms up and the sun comes out.

HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY♥
Morning, all!
Palmer getting some vittles!
I too, have caught myself wanting to say Hidey as well!
Happy 5 week birthday, Palmer!
Palmer is done eating, went to the egg cup, then backed up for a poop shoot, now cleaning his beak!
Fresh leaves in the nest, too
Wanda, I have spent some time in Minnesota. Nice place. It can get surprisingly hot and humid in the summer, and, of course, really cold in the winter. (My in-laws lived there for several years.) It was in Minnesota that I first heard the call of the loon.

Palmer talking to adult while adult fluffs up the cup
Color really nice this morning on the live feed, check out all those sycamore leaves coming out
Palmer is trying to get under the adult. Needs some babying.
There went parent, into the tree I think
OH, forgot to tell ya'll, the newest contract for Mom's house went into effect...did inspection yesterday and appraisal is next. Hoping to settle around May 20th
Good morning my fine eagle momsters and dadsters.
Good Sunday Morning All
Waiting for the loons to come back into view... Palmer is alone in the nest near the egg cup.
Going to be sunless today so put on your happy faces and make it a good one.
Hi there Thelma!
Paula - good news about your mom's house.. You and your brothers must have done a very good job for presenting it!
Noah is on the perch again
Are you heading to the market today, Jo?
Morning, Tbird and Shirley and Jo!
Good Sunday morning everyone:)Have a blessed day.
Mei Xiang has done alot more nestorations in the den over the night, and is panting heavily this a.m.
Just an FYI, that was Rob Bierregaard placing the tracking device on Noah, some of you may subscribe to his Osprey tracking site.
Morning, Mits.
2 new hatches this week at IWS, first one in 60 years on Santa Rosa Island, and one for another pair on Santa Cruz.
yes I saw that Paula, he really gets around, his letters are so interesting.
Paula, all of the hard work on your mother's house paid off. Congrats!
did a young family buy your Mom's house, Paula?
Mits, Lamaze, perhaps? I am watching for the moment, but don't know if I will be able to get back in.
Paula I am seriously thinking about it but haven't started moving yet in high gear! lol
It's too wet to mow - what are you into today?
MITS - Great news!
its is just one of the signs, Shirley, but also happens during a false pregnancy too, have not heard if she has reached baseline hormone level yet, this could take days or weeks.
she has had 6 false pregnancies and only one live birth, since 2002, so odds are against her, but there is alwyas hope.
She does keep teasing us along, doesn't she, Mits? We will know when we know. Same as with the hatching of our eagle egg. We did not know until it happened. Nature still has its mysteries.
It is nice to have a resident expert, Mits.
Good morning everyone. Got called into work. Still rainy here man that grass is growing :-(. Hope it isn't too stormy where you are and Palmer stays all hunkered down and dry. Enjoy your day.
Arrival of parent caused quite a lot of chirps from Palmer. Seems to have brought something. Not sure what, though.
omg, not an expert, by a long shot, Shirley, I just find the pandas fascinating, along with the eagles and osprey, and all kinds of animals, but always try to put things in proper perspective when it comes to nature.
You've had lots of experience and that gives you plenty of knowledge, Mits. We appreciate the information.
She got down off the little stand. I guess that is the birthing box?
Mits, I think it was just a couple that bought Mom's house. No dependents were listed. But they were local, which is nice.
the little stand is the platform bed, she is licking now, it looks she is licking the kong toy, but can't really tell....I told them at the assement meeting the other day, if I win the lottery, I am going to help them re-do the panda cam room
I would love to witness another panda cub birth like we did for the Atlanta cub. Come On Mei
Heading for the shower, then have to go into work for awhile, the paperwork never stops.
Jo, did you ever come in to look at sofas? We have a lot of new stuff in, big sale starts this Thursday.
BBL. Shower time. Got things I must do today.
that is good Paula, I just always like to think if the house was a home with a family, that it would be nice to have a family again, but the pics of you Mom's house would be perfect for a couple or some MT nestors
got kicked out, bad blogger!
I noticed the licking. Could not tell what she was licking, though. Now she is eating some bamboo. What a diet those pandas have!
Later peeps, make a good day.
Morning all!
Palmer is looking very lazy....must have a full belly! Like the new nest-deco! Green...my favorite color.
Hey, Thelma! How are ya', gal. We sure don't see much of you!! Do you have your puter back yet??
Mei is inspecting her nether region!
Paula we did get a sofa and love seat
It's those recliner type - not sure I am satisfied with it. I need an overstuffed chair.
So Mei is going to take a break and eat something. Now she is looking downward.. Like the others I need to head for street clothes if I am going to accomplish anything today.

Mits, is the 5 min. limit for greater acessibility? Thank goodness it comes right back on when I hit play!
yes, so many people watching.
Due to a lot of visitors to this page, you may be unable to watch camera one. If you are unable to connect, try camera two. Today we are limiting sessions to five minutes to allow more people to view the cam. If you are unable to connect, try the other cam or try again later.
and yes, the nether region is very important sign...
Paula, sorry you have to work today...:( Is there going to be a party for Ajay?
So glad you got the better contract....fingers crossed that everything goes through!!
oh yeah forgot....Happy Birthday Ajay:)
Hello and good morning. It's a beautiful sunshine morning here.
would someone post the loon link?
Lib brought a fish in and so did Belle. Hers is near the cam.
Palmer is feasting.
Palmer is eating...
No, no party, think she's just gonna have a quiet day. Poor girl, she got a UTI, had to go to Dr on Friday, still recovering from that.
Really got to get a move on, can you tell I'm excited about working today, lol.
PH nest has a fog rise instead of a sun rise this morning. It's kind of pretty.
Early this morning the people on the TH nest chat were saying that the twins looked liked big mushrooms with talons. It was sort of cute.
Oh, Happy Birthday to Paula's girl.
MN Loon Cam
Good Morning Eagle ♀'s and ♂'s
Happy Birthday to Ajay and Lynn's son in law Shannon

Thanks for the WA Lake nest link.
Are there chicks on that one?

Thanks Magpie.
Palmer just got up and did some stretching exercises, flapping the wings, did a mannerly poop shoot.
and is walking over to Lib's perch.
Palmer is nestorating.
Now Lib is nestorating as Palmer looks on.
Lib just handed Palmer a stick for practice, I suppose.
Mits...are you watching Mei? Was that a laying down dump on the rocks?? Is that meaningful at
this stage?
Well, now she is really chowing down on bamboo...sound is fine on cam so far today.
Oh hello,
there is a New Thread
I'm watching Mei Xiang too
