Mema Jo wrote on older thread. That I went to City-Data searched around. I did not find anything about Hidey or the name Flyboy. Does not mean I didn't miss it. Maybe someone else can find it.
We certainly want to make sure people have and keeps this eaglets name Palmer.
If my guesstamation is right, looks like some weather heading at the mine in WV. Just what they need :( I sure hope they can get back in there...these families and the community need that very badly.
Looks like we'll need to keep an eye on the sky later today. Won't be surprised if we get a Severe Storm Watch posted later.
TY, Lynne. I was so disappointed that I couldn't get more of the swim, but there are too many trees, twigs in the way as you go upriver. (Plus I was supposed to be in the office--left door open to hear phone SSHH!)
I just got an email from Chrissy in response to ecard I sent her last night. She did not give any new information, but a TY & how she cherishes all the friendships & then she had to quit because of getting weepy.
Just called and spoke to Norma She is doing well and waiting for a visit from Lisa today (and her 3 dogs) Had been to the Wellness Center - had been into the ballgames - and said she felt badly about not taking the time to be in touch with all of us. She'll be on soon again in the near future.
I love Deb's Hawk cam - I remember her introducing us to it last spring. They won't go in and remove that plastic bag. Momma Hawk has used it as part of the nest.. Last year they say she had a bike's rubber innertube. She is such a pretty faced hawk.
there is a dead bird that has been there for a couple of days now, and some fresh pin sprig....the plastic bag has been in there since eggs were laid, she rearranges it every now and then
Good afternoon everyone. Its sunny and downright cold wind here today but rain is gone. I surely hope the nest area doesn't have to deal with any severe stuff coming through. We certainly don't have any control over the weather there or anywhere.
I need a magic wand there are so many things for so many folks I wish I could make all better.
Enjoy your day. First thing tomorrow a teen and I are off to photograph the pelicans. Surely hoping for sunshine when we get there oh and some pelicans too.
I'M H-O-M-E....... I'm NED=No Evidence of Disease!!!!!!!!!! Happy Dance time!!! He said at 5 yrs. I am basically considered cured with a little c. Could come back, but then again might not...x-ray every 6 mos. Thanks You all for your prayers, love and support!!
Yeah Lynn awesome news. One of my closest friends just hit her 10 year mark. Like you she goes every 6 months but essentially she is as healthy if not more healthy than I am. Dancing with you in celebration all the way over here in IL .
Bill gave me a cute little baby AFLAC duck (stuffed animal). Looks like a downy eaglet to me!!
For the first time in the 39 years I've been up here, the apple trees are all in bloom already. Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester isn't until first weekend in May---which is when they are usually blooming!
No, it doesn't look too good for the poor eagle. I wish they had said which organization was caring for it so we can check the progress. And sadly, you're right, they'll never catch the bozo that shot him.
Really windy here...that USUALLY means that the storms coming with the cold front won't be severe.
weather for nest.... Rest of This Afternoon Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be severe with gusty winds. Highs around 80. South winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent. Tonight Showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Some thunderstorms may be severe with gusty winds. Lows in the upper 40s. West winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent. amen:(
We all know whoever shot the eagle surely knew what they were shooting at. It is hard enough for them to thrive as it is. It was so weak in that video sad sad sad.
Storm is almost here.... Was hoping you would keep it over there on your side of the mountain Lynn - Wanda - Margy - Dana! Scampy (squirrel) ran up on the deck for some peanuts before the rain drops start.
Mits Read with glee the news about the Ospreys at both the Finland cams, I think read that right... Thank You ! I knew you would be on top of the sightings ☺
Read the blog quickly. Looks like a lot of you and the nest had bad weather this afternoon. We have had beautiful weather today, sunny and a high 70. Can not ask for any better than that.
Checking cams now...have a meeting at church this evening.
Strange to see Palmer all alone. It startled me at first as he blends in with the nest.
It looks like the rain is over for now. Sounded like a tornado coming through! Glad I didn't plant my new flower plants...would probably have blown away!
Gene and I took the Afternoon Off...went to Southern States in Ranson and bought some bird seed, suet cakes, mulch (is there ever an end to buying mulch?) and some materials to put a fence OVER the top of GG's garden to keep the deer out. She worried herself nearly to death last year...Gene had built a fence around her garden and the deer still got in, put netting over her veggie plants and they still got to the plants. So, we'll see what happens with this new idea:) It was so good to get out on this beautiful Spring day...so many colorful flowers and trees blooming...God's gift to us after sending us all that SNOW;)
Jo, pardon me, I know you LOVE owls, but baby owls are funny! Been watching Molly and McGee's owlets. They are so homely, they are funny! Sitting here laughing.
I agree about the homely looking little barn owls! I think that is why I like them. Also the little burrowing owls are so inquisitive looking. Now the GHO has the most beautiful featherd face. Really do love them.
YIPPEE!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS, LYNN!!! I'm out here in SoCal doing a VICTORY DANCE with you! Thank GOD!!!!!!! Couldn't be happier for you!
Slept in late today, and have been playing catch-up ever since. Just about to eat an early dinner and run to school. Should be able to come home early; only have a few definitions to find and print out, and I'll be done for the week.
Can't seem to get the live feed to work, so will have to try later. Keep an eye on Palmer for me on the still cam, OK? Hope the little rascal doesn't get so close to the edge of his/her nest! Gives me heart failure! Will talk to you later tonight once I'm back to my roost. Have a good evening! :o]
I am having difficult getting the MN Bound Owl cam opened. I so want to be there at 8:45 this evening to see if there are still 2 eggs or maybe little fluffy owletts. I was watching earlier today but she never left the nest.
LOL, Shirley....I liked that story! Always got so irritated with my girls' teachers who only cared about the subject they were teaching. Never marked down for spelling or grammatical areas in other subjects!!
Jo, I stopped by and asked if he wanted to discuss indirect objects, and we did. Then he brought up gerunds. Said he didn't really know much about them. They're verbal nouns ending in "ing." The grammar continues!
Gerund: Running is good exercise. Running is usually a verb, but in this sentence it is a noun.

Don't worry, I get my fill of grading. I have no desire to do any more. I am not a threat in that respect.
Have had to get used to having my gradebook published for everyone to look at--parents, teachers, administrators. All they have to do is click and look. (Of course parents can only see their own child's grades.)
My honors seniors were almost falling asleep today for Act IV of Macbeth. Tomorrow, I am going to switch things around on them They will have to present Act V and I will watch.
I will have to write out that plan before Block 2 tomorrow. Will let you know how that goes.
Something happens to seniors this time of the year.
from MagpieWVU head basketball coach is in Fayette County with the mining families
Now that is cool. I love that someone very special to WV is actually there with some very special very much traumatized group of people. He can't change anything for them but his coming alongside will speak volumes to their hearts.
They have a bunch of neat pics there too of animals they have cared for, click on photos on the top and then on one of the images...they have a slideshow.
Posted on the WRCV site for the Norfolk triplets is this announcement for those who can never EVER have enough eagle educateshun
I have had numerous requests to hold one of my NBG bald eagle classes online for those unable to travel to Norfolk. I will do so on Monday April 12 from noon to 1:00pm. I encourage folks to read the list of terms I posted on the eaglenest.blogs.wm.edu site on April 5. These are terms I used in my NBG class on April 3. I will focus on eagle basic and what you have been seeing and will see in the nest in the next few weeks. by Reese F Lukei Jr
From Ken at snowmancam.com on his battle over the bird feeders...the state thought he was using bird feeders to bait for deer....
I just received the judge's decision. She has dismissed the charges against me, finding that the deer feeding ban is unconstitutional as over broad and vague. The procecutor has the right to appeal the decision. I pray the procecutor decides to do the right thing and let this go.
I agree Shirley, and don't see how he could be baiting deer with bird feeders, they are put up high, but the deer do still get to them was the issue, and cause he has the cam, they assumed he put them up for the deer...not. Hope they leave him alone and go after real bad guys!
Wow, I hear peepers and it looks like fish are swimming in the nest! Was out doing yard work & planting pansies earlier, trying to beat the storm. It came a lot later than we thought & when rain almost ended, power went out a couple times. News just said the methane levels are dropping at the coal mine & they may get rescuers in tonight.
Some little chirps while Belle was flapping her wings. Then I saw 2 little wings flap!!
Well, at least the judge was smart....but not necessarily in his corner!! Guess I could be in trouble here, too. Just don't understand how it can be considered baiting when I'm not killing anything!!! I can't help it if EVERYTHING likes corn! Squirrels, deer, turkey, coons, birds, bear.......
That's right--Congrats to Andy for Acing & to Lynn for passing real important test!!!
Lynn, My daughter has a big tube bird feeder in middle of her backyard & the deer can barely reach it w/their noses. Sometimes they've knocked it on the ground due to a squirrel conspiracy! Hope she doesn't get arrested.
Hi, Everyone, Home from school--watched the Wild Kingdom show about Lynn Rogers when I got home. Fantastic story, but sad about the bears that died or were killed. Really respect what Lynn Rogers is doing for bear research, though. Amazing man.
Paula, thanks for the link to the story about the eagle that got shot. Hope it's doing better by now.
Shirley, I had practically forgotten about gerunds and such, until I went back to school. Need to know what I'm doing grammar-wise now.
Well, need to do some studying, then watch my TV shows. Leaving the night light and porch light on, and the eye scanner is enabled. Prayers being said for everyone, especially Chrissy and her family. (((GIANT HUGS)))!! Sleep tight, and will talk to you in the morning. Good night! God bless! Love all you guys. :o]
Jack is watching hockey. Mike Madano is playing probably his last home game. He was honored with an ovation and he cried. I got tears in my eyes. He is everyone's favorite player, and so nice looking. Oh, and he lives on Michael's street, two blocks down. I must go walking that way some day.
Hey....if they are good looking...you betcha I want to hob nob with the rich and famous!
Ashley saw Madano walking his two dogs the other day. She was talking on the phone with her best friend and said "Oh, there are two beautiful dogs....OMG, it is Mike Madano!" Susan gave her a hard time for noticing the dogs before Madano. lol

Oh, Lynne, so sad. I fear that the bird will not be saveable. Poor thing. And, of course, they'll never catch the jerk who shot it.
Congrats, Lynn. Wonderful news!
Thanks Lynne for that story - Hopefully the injured Eagle will regain its health with the help of the humans who care so much!
Cool update from Catalina, Jim!

As soon as I said that it has started raining, whos Belle, wind blew her in the nest, Palmer scootching up under Belle!
She's struggling. He's finally decided he WANTS covered!
OH my gosH!! Heard storm hit nest. Belle stepped on Palmer's footsie trying to cover him/her.
Lynn, grrrreat news. So thankful to God. Hi dear ones. Love you all Mauley
Storm is almost here.... Was hoping you would keep it over there on your side of the mountain Lynn - Wanda - Margy - Dana!
Scampy (squirrel) ran up on the deck for some peanuts before the rain drops start.

Palmer is all wrapped in fluff!! Cute! If you don't see him move, you don't realize he's there!!
Thanks, Margy, Lolly and Wanda!
I don't think he's real happy being shrouded like that. Let me outta here!!

I have lost my live feed as well. Grrrrr!
Sharon, I dreamed about you and TRAIN last night. lol Do not know where that came from...but I did.☺

In case anyone missed Palmer's climb to the top of Mount Palmer this morning and a few other cute shots are on my blg.
Storm missed us this time but looks to hit us for sure around midnight here too.
I agree about the homely looking little barn owls! I think that is why I like them. Also the little burrowing owls are so inquisitive looking.
Now the GHO has the most beautiful featherd face. Really do love them.
Hi,

Hi Jo,
Things went reasonably well today. Right now, it is storming here. I could disappear at any time. Wind, rain, lightning, thunder!
Oh Lynn, what good news! I am happy dancing for you.
I am having difficult getting the MN Bound Owl cam opened. I so want to be there at 8:45 this evening to see if there are still 2 eggs or maybe little fluffy owletts. I was watching earlier today but she never left the nest.
Shirley - anymore Indirect Objects in the hallways?

Raining our nest, trying to cover up a chirping Palmer...guess he doesn't want to get wet!
So now I am sure everyone is excited about grammar.
Storming here again. Temp has really fallen! Down to 62º.
Has anyone checked on Noah? I haven't been able to check on him the last 2 days...been to busy.
Sure we are, Shirley! Just don't grade us on it!!
I love grammar things, Shirley...
nothing like a dangling participle every now and then !
second round of rain coming through, pretty bold cold front behind it !
here's an example of one of those:
After being whipped fiercely, the cook boiled the egg.
I didn't make that up
WVU head basketball coach is in Fayette County with the mining families
Our mom had us kids run our essays through here, she was a tough grammar screen !
learned a lot from her
I have only had time to check our nest Paula today...
I didn't know that term, Shirley. You learn something new every day (old stuff that you probably learned a long time ago and forgot counts). Yes, no grades please.

"docked"...adjective, gerundive,
participle?
Hang on little Royal Family, storms and rain should be over by morning ☼
Here's another story on the shot bald eagle that I think Lynne posted. Gives the name of the group that is helping the eagle.
I see lots of these stories, most are found dead. This one was lucky to be found.
Shot Bald Eagle
Thanks, Shirley, snagged it off the web somewhere...then I realized Lynn has cherry blossoms on her avatar too!
They have the website posted in that article, poor folks their eagle cage collapsed.
from MagpieWVU head basketball coach is in Fayette County with the mining families
Now that is cool. I love that someone very special to WV is actually there with some very special very much traumatized group of people. He can't change anything for them but his coming alongside will speak volumes to their hearts.
Thanks for head-up on the ISS/Shuttle viewing, Margy. I forgot to look this week. (Nothing last week!) Will set my alarm.
Oh, Paula, that sounds bad....
They have a bunch of neat pics there too of animals they have cared for, click on photos on the top and then on one of the images...they have a slideshow.

How about some good eagle news?
Eagles in Philly
Palmer trying his best to stay under Belle, she's digging, he's scootching....now big wing flaps
Raining here too
Tenting now.
Participle, I think off the top of my head, Margy. Modifies ISS and Discovery.
Some more rain here.
Got the dishwasher loaded and running.
I see the tenting. I hope the weather isn't going to be too bad for them tonight.

Going to take my grammar books and crawl into bed. See you tomorrow. Good night and God bless.
It just doesn't make sense to me to ban bird feeders.
Well, Jo, it didn't say "to be continued" but we KNOW that's not the end of the story!! Geesh!
I just read the TV listings and it said NOTHING about part 1 & part 2.
We sure know how to pick them NOT
Well One more to go!
Wishing us luck for a story with a conclusion
Paula, you are a true fountain of info tonight!! Sure hope that Philly doesn't think they need to destroy any nest near the airport!
Neat about the online presentation on the 12th!!
Night-night, Shirley!
PH chicks are looking good this year...hope everything goes well there, enough tragedy at that nest in the past couple of years.
I agree Shirley, and don't see how he could be baiting deer with bird feeders, they are put up high, but the deer do still get to them was the issue, and cause he has the cam, they assumed he put them up for the deer...not. Hope they leave him alone and go after real bad guys!
OMG---heart failure. Felt something crawling on my head--STINKBUG! Yuck, gross, sickening.
Tomorrow is Dr. Lynn Rogers' birthday!
Fluffed my bed pillow before getting in bed ---- STINK BUG
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH !
Paula, Thx for the great Norfolk info. Just wrote it on calendar & I don't have an appt. that day!!!!☺
Getting late in the day, so to all hitting the hay, Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
Gracie may need to change her mind!
Hi, Everyone,
Home from school--watched the Wild Kingdom show about Lynn Rogers when I got home.
Heading to bed, see ya in the a.m.
Hugs to all ♥
What???? You think folks were confused and did not know where I was going when I said I was going to "chuch". Doesn't everyone go to 'chuch". lol
Paula, thanks for the info on the Philly eagle. I loved the picture. Those little heads peeking out of the nest is so cute!
Jack is watching hockey. Mike Madano is playing probably his last home game. He was honored with an ovation and he cried. I got tears in my eyes. He is everyone's favorite player, and so nice looking. Oh, and he lives on Michael's street, two blocks down. I must go walking that way some day.
Off to pop some popcorn and make a G&T!
Hope that the rain washing away the pollen will give Megan an easier day tomorrow.
LOL, Lolly wants to hobnob with the rich and famous!!!
Jo, Grace is being selfish!
Wow...Nats won a game. Can't beleive it.
Heading for tub and then to beddy-bye. See all of you tomorrow! Should be a beautiful day! Love all y'all. Prayers and peace.
Headed back the hallway
Good Night All
Prayers for each and everyone
(((hugs))) ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Hey....if they are good looking...you betcha I want to hob nob with the rich and famous!
Ashley saw Madano walking his two dogs the other day. She was talking on the phone with her best friend and said "Oh, there are two beautiful dogs....OMG, it is Mike Madano!" Susan gave her a hard time for noticing the dogs before Madano. lol
I think the rain is all done...and so am I;)
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
((((chrissy))))
Nite all! Sweet dreams!

Good morning. Our eagle parent is sleeping soundly in the nest. Supposed to be cooler today.
Eagle looks like it is curled like a cat. Probably especially tired from tenting through the storm.
Awake and calling now.
Lots of peeps and chirps from Palmer.
Rescue workers have returned to the mine.
Palmer poop shoot from the egg cup cleared the nest. Impressive.
See you later.
Palmer is all alone in the nest.
Happy Family at NCTC
Two O's at Finland
Good Morning Eagle ♀'s and ♂'s

ISS-Discovery was great this morning...sailing across the sky
