we are warm and windy 81 I think it's out now suppose to get 84°
Then a small cool down just a few degrees though for the week the back to 80s by Christmas Windows still open with the wind still nice in the house loving my last electric bill 62 trying not to turn on the AC
Went to a party White elephant party was fun. Played some unique games Right Left was one was so fun. The gal that gave it is the x principal at Jordyn school Had a blast but another late nite party ended at 1130 then ride Angie's to get my truck stayed just a bit before coming home
Good morning! 17 this morning but we have bright sunshine. Thankful there is no snow nor ice. Heading out soon. Up to 24!
My sister inlaw's mother died last night. We have decided not to make the trip. We will go down next month or February. Larry said they would rather we come then. The last few months have been hard on them. So, instead of a rush trip down right now, a more leisure trip later. They are only having a simple graveside service. They have three sons and they will all be with their mother. Please keep Sandy in your prayers. Her mom had Alzheimer's, was 94, and bedridden.
Lolly, I'm so very sorry to hear that your sister-in-law's mother has passed. Please relay my condolences to her family. I think it's wise for you to make the trip down there later. The weather you're having in Texas is not particularly good for travel. Got a text from our Jen this morning, and in Providence Village, where they are, it got down to 11 degrees last night, and at 10 am it had warmed up to 22. Marq is a plumbing supervisor, and he was having to work outside today. (!) It's 35 degrees there right now.
Here in SoCal, it got down to 48 here last night, and right now it's 71. There's a strong Santa Ana wind blowing, however, so there's a bit of a wind chill factor. Blew all night, and supposed to continue through tomorrow morning.
I'm putting lots of birdseed outside. I feel so sorry for our local birds! This morning they all looked like feathery pom-poms with legs! We've seen our local ground squirrel out there shoveling in lots of birdseed, too. The piggy looks nice and plump, and has a very nice winter coat.
I think it's supposed to be colder here tonight--down to 41. I think rain is a possibility by Saturday.
Hoda, hope you're managing to stay warm with all that cold up there where you are! Be careful while driving. I'm glad you have snow tires!
Lynne2, how does Steve like his job so far?
Well, I need to get back to gift wrapping and get that done very soon. Will try to get back here later tonight to get caught up more. Take care, everyone. I ♥ us!
It was a good day. There was some blue sky. It is supposed to snow again at one in the morning and then Tuesday we have rain! Oh yeah!!! Hope all are well. I thought of Jo a lot today and how She So enjoyed Christmas and all the preparations... She so loved having her family around her. Miss her much. I will say goodnight.
Good morning! Having a heat wave, it is up to 37. 27 was our low.
Thank you for your prayers for Sandy. Service is scheduled for Friday. All the more reason for us not to travel.
Going to bake today and start preparations for the weekend.
Poor Joseph. He gets his wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow. Scheduling this around basketball and band events. Should not be too bad as they are not impacted just do not want them to ruin what his braces 😁 corrected. Hoping he will enjoy eating on Christmas Day.
Have the cam up. Still have not seen an eagle this season. Maybe today!!
good morning to all. Happy Winter Solstice! LOLLY: hugs hugs and hugs HODA: I was going thru holiday cards from last year the other night (yes, I save them) and found one from Jo. I just sat there, holding it, treasuring her, remembering, honoring, feeling both joy and sadness..... MS> BOOKWORM: I've been putting out additional feed here as well. It was 17 yesterday morning with freezing fog. while quite beautiful.....cold! JUDYE: HI SIS :) I see the sun this morning and although there's a heavy frost, I think it will be a gorgeous day. hugs and love to all
About to finish my coffee, then up and at 'em in the kitchen! Think I will put on Christmas music!
Laurel has texted me. They are back home. Joseph is resting. He was happy but not loopy after having his wisdom teeth removed. Glad to have that over with! Being young, I think he will end fast and ready to eat soon!
Going to bake cinnamon rolls today as well as other food prep.
Miss Skippita has had an interesting morning. She attempted to eat a bow off a package under the tree. Then I heard her tearing paper at the back of the tree. Got her out by opening the pantry door! She did not get a treat. She woke me this morning by tearing around the bedroom. Then she was attempting to dig through some bags in the corner. All the while her tail twitching as it does while watching birds and squirrels. WHAT was she chasing? OMG! WhenJack got up I had him plow through the bags....nothing! I am still not happy!
I filled the bird feeder when we left on our trip in Sept. When we retuned a month later it was still full. Some seeds had sprouted! Cleaned it up, filled it, still no birds. Well this past week we have birds! Mentioned this to a friend at church. She said that she and several other had mentioned not having birds for over a month. Interesting! Where were the birds? Have plenty now!
Well, it's been raining here, all night, and all this morning. The wind is blowing, and the rain is coming down pretty hard at times. We got 1 1/2 inches of rain overnight, and supposed to get another 1 1/2 inches today, I think. Our backyard is under a couple inches of rainwater so far--for some reason it's not soaking in well. We're under a flood watch that's supposed to end soon. The freeways have at least a foot of standing water in the right lane.
Had at least 30 doves in the backyard this morning, and white-crowned sparrows, English sparrows, and house finches. Also saw one of our Black Phoebes eating some seeds. They usually eat flying bugs and spiders, but none of those are readily available when it's raining.
Talked to daughter Jen again today. Their youngest kitty, Tazo, ran up one of the Christmas trees again! (They have 3 Christmas trees.) That little turkey is in trouble now! At least the tree didn't fall over this time! LOLLY, I hope you don't have a mouse in your house! Wonder what Skippi was after! Hope Joseph is feeling better VERY soon! Wisdom teeth are no fun!
Well, better go get busy. Need to vacuum again in the living room. Emma has been tracking leaves in the house after all the wind we've had. 9They're green leaves, not dried ones.) Hope everyone has a good afternoon and evening! I ♥ us!
Wow! Just checked the nest, and an eagle is there! Woohoo! Omigosh, now BOTH!! Both are moving flugg around, and one is working on the crib rail. I'm so excited! It has been an eon since I've seen either one of them! Oops! One gone. The other is parked in the nest and just looking around. It seems kind of windy there--we're going for the windblown look. Turned my sound on, and can definitely hear the wind blowing. Well, guess the nest wasn't quite appealing enough--it's empty now. Oh, it's SO good to see our eagles again! I'm not sure who landed first--it might have been Shep. The second one to land was the one who settled down in the nest for a while. Sure hope I see them again very soon! Well, gotta go finish my chores. I ♥ us!
Andy, I saw Shep! He was there for about 45 minutes before Belle flew in. It was my first time to see them this season, too. I was so excited. I was chatting with a couple on the Momster fb messenger.
Merry Christmas Eve Eve!🎄🎁🎅🎄🎁🎅
Laurel and family arrive tomorrow and stay until Tuesday. Michael, Savanna and Zach arrive Christmas afternoon and stay until Tuesday. Yea! Laurel usually comes on the 23rd but since Michael is staying two days, she wants to stay those two days. Also, we will have the three dogs. Rain is expected, so glad we did NOT have the carpet cleaned.
Good for you to get rain, Andy! Now send it on this way!
I've been watching the intruder in the nest since reading a post from Deb Stecyk on Facebook. This eagle - a female Deb thinks - is looking way too comfortable and has been in the nest for way too long.
She still there that was in the nest now back to the stump I've gotta head out gotta pick up Jordyn in a little bit. Then head over to their house for presents.
Goodorming my eagle friends. The nest has been MT while I've been watching but apparently the intruder eagle paid a visit this morning. Whether it's Palmer or some random visiting eagle, this doesn't make me happy.
Hello and Happy HO HO to all the Eaglet Momsters and Dadsters. Adventures and getting pictures are few and far between. Got some current pics last week at Park. Had a wonderful day!! BTW, it might be difficult to see my new avatar, but it's a picture of our roof on Sunday morning. Neighbor's tree that Frank had predicted would fall on our house DID. Insurance man is coming 26th. No leaking, yet, thank goodness! Praying the New Year will be better for Everyone and Happy Holidays to ALL!!!
good evening to all! fabulous day at work. all week I've been giving my clients a lindor truffle at the end of the session. people have liked that. :)
we closed at three. only 1 therapist wasn't fully booked. people are ever so stressed this time of the year!
came home and had some odds and ends to do....and made dinner. easy stuff. and I tried this second batch of egg nog and I will never ever buy egg nog again! that is so incredibly yummy. it has the texture and similar taste to tiramisu. (I do like mom used to, sprinkle a bit of instant coffee on top). oh my goodness!!!! decadent~
it is rainy and warm here. I am planning on an early bedtime. I am tired tonight. have to be @ Chelsea's about noon tomorrow.
I hope everyone has a lovely evening and day tomorrow with family/friends, etc. hugs and love to all
Merry Christmas everyone. That second eagle in the nest today was one ugly bird! My gracious! I like Steven's explanation as to what is going on. There always seems to be drama in Eagle land start of season!!! I hope Belle and Shep survive and hold on to their Real Estate!!!
Looking about. Someone is flying above her. I hear another eagle call. Odd that the cup is closer to the stump. Could be camera angle. First I saw the V the longer I watch the less prominent it is. So it could be Shep.
good evening to one and all. Have had a busy day with family. I find myself tired this evening. and if I do say so myself I have made the most delectable batch of eggnog I have ever tasted! I will never buy it again!!!!! wowser.
great 72 degree day here.....was wonderful to spend time with the family.
Chelsea and crew are heading to Orlando tomorrow...Disney bound!!!! :) so so so happy for them. I couldn't be happier if I were the one going back! I just know they are going to have this incredible time!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful, blessed Christmas!
I'm afraid I have some sad news. Our longtime friend (since 1969), Jim Wilkoski, passed on today. He had end stage COPD, and had been in and out of the hospital for the last few weeks. He passed away peacefully, with his wife Darlene, and Ken and I there. Boy, are we going to miss him! Today has just seemed pretty surreal. Sure hasn't seemed much like Christmas, and I guarantee it will be one we will never forget. Please say some prayers for Darlene (Her nickname is Luckie.) She is devastated. She and Jim were never able to have any children, so were exceptionally close, and she has never lived alone in her life until now. They were married almost 55 years. Ken and I went back to their trailer home with her, and stayed a while. Thank God she has their Snowshoe kitty, Purrski, to keep her company. He is a Godsend. Ken and I need to get our car over to the garage to see what ails it (The engine light came on while we were driving home from Newport Beach where the hospital is located, on Christmas Eve!:( )and we had to call Uber to get to the hospital and then home from Luckie's place today. We are going to help Luckie make the arrangements. She doesn't know where to begin, and they had not planned anything in advance. It's going to be a busy week.
Sorry to be here with such a sad story, but I know how well Momster/Dadster prayers work, and Luckie sure needs some. Thank you so much in advance. And thank God we all have our faith to carry us through! We know for sure that we will see Jim again some day when our turn comes. Will keep you posted as this story progresses. I ♥ us!
Andy, I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. Will be praying for Luckie, Ken and you. Sad time!
Andrew is supposed to be here around 10 to spend a couple hours with us. I hate him not being with us on Christmas but you know that saying - a son is a son until he takes a wife, but a daughter is a daughter for the rest of your life. I think I'm going to trade him in for a daughter.
Our Mattie got engaged yesterday morning. It was so beautiful. For those of you on Facebook, we have shared the video of it on there. She cried like a baby. His name is Keenan Jenkins. They have known each other since elementary school. He is the polar opposite of Jordan (who broke up with her a couple of months before graduation). He has a really good job but works out of town. He stays in Ocean City, MD, works for a company that runs new electrical lines. He actually spends money on her. She would always have to take Jordan out to eat and pay for it. She would spend $500 on his Christmas and he would spend $20 on hers.
Of course at the dinner table yesterday, we have already started looking for "the dress". She said at first it would be fall 2018 and now it is fall 2017. I so wish Donna could be here participate in all of this.
Hopefully we will not have a bridezilla thing happening here but more will be revealed. :)
Justin got married at the courthouse and it might have cost $75 total. I have a feeling his sister's will be a little bit more than that.
The NCTC Conservation training center FB page they used one of my photos today. Must be someone on the momsters page. Its pretty Kool! I posted on the secret FB page someone must be on there from that site NEAT
This was in my Facebook memories today from 5 years ago: Jo Lennox to Sandi Roberts December 27, 2011 at 11:18am ·
Hi Sandi, Thanks for befriending me! I'll look forward to keeping up to date with you. Summer time we are down in Fenwick Island area. Perhaps we'll get together this coming summer.
good afternoon all. opened the cam to an MT nest. like you all I have been thinking about Jo. earlier this month as I was going thru last year's cards, I found one from Jo, with a cardinal on it. I sat and teared up. our matriarch....she is so missed.
so I suppose everyone has heard by now that Carrie Fisher died earlier today. Reports say she never recovered from her cardiac arrest......she was only 60.
its been a rough year with regards to how many people have passed thru the veil this year....people of fame and stature.
Well I am baaaaaaack! Everyone left today late morning and I collapsed. We had a great Christmas. Had to turn on the AC as it got up to 80. Yuck! Last night was fun as we all enjoyed the Cowboy win. Also, we had indoor snow ball fights. Laurel gave Michael a bucket of indoor "snowballs". Quite a riot!
Tomorrow we will probably start cleaning up leaves with major raking. Friday going to Dallas for family get together at Michael's and to let the boys swim in his heated pool. His apartment building has a heated pool on the top floor.
Hope you all had a great Christmas. Good to see our Loretta checking in! Sorry about the tree!
Howdeeeee! Totally exhausted! Worked raking leaves all day. Guess we will do it again tomorrow. Also going to plant bulbs. Another day that went up to 80! Last year we had a dusting of snow on this day. Anyway, we got a lot done. The penalty for having trees....leaves to rake! Ugh!
Good morning my eagle friends. There was one eagle in the nest when I opened the live cam around 9am. S/he was just sitting and watching - sometimes tracking something. At one point there was some calling out and then the eagle left.
Now, one is back in the nest moving sticks. No idea if it's the same eagle or not - I can only tell them apart when they're both in the nest.
There's an eagle in the nest. I think it may be Shep, but I'm not certain. Working on a crib rail on the right side of the nest, then just sitting and looking around.
Happy Belated 8th Anniversary, Lynne2 & Steve! Wishing you many, many more joyful years together!
Ken and I have been helping our friend, Luckie (Darlene) check out mortuaries and cemeteries, and what a frustrating project! We find that they quote you one price over the phone, but when you make an appointment and talk with them in person, the price starts getting higher and higher! Guess what--how can anyone afford to die any more?! It would appear that the average cost of an extremely economic funeral (even with no clergy at the service) and burial is between $16,000 and $20,000!!! Our friend Jim was extremely humble, and would pitch a fit if that much was spent on him! One perplexing example of how the price quickly rises--if you provide a suit of clothes, it costs an average of $275 to dress the departed. Luckie has been inquiring about cremation too, but although Jim said he wouldn't mind cremation, she has a real problem with it. I think if she went that route, she would not be at peace about having done that as time goes on. She is supposed to get a call back by 10 am our time from another place called Family Funeral Services, and they may be the answer, if the prices they quote are genuine. They seem to be much more economical, and they deal with a large number of mortuaries and cemeteries in our area. Please say some prayers about that!
Well, I'd better go get my act together. I need to shower and wash my hair, so my appearance doesn't frighten people. We're helping Luckie again today, and hopefully will be able to make a decision about what's to be done.
More crib rail adjustments going on at the nest, this time on the left side.
Have a good day, everyone, and I'll be back later with an update. I ♥ us!!
Andy, I surely understand Luckie's shock about funeral costs. When my mom was dying, she told me that she had 2 life insurance policies to cover her funeral expenses - they totaled about $6000. Her funeral, which was nothing extravagant, cost almost $14000! I wish her luck with getting a price break!
Good morning! Many people in Canada now cremate and scatter the ashes in a favourite spot. We then make a donation to a worthy cause. It is what my American family does too. Ridiculous to pay such amounts! The industry has gone out of hand!
Good evening eagle friends. It is dark at the nest and empty. I guess they won't stay in the nest at night until egg laying time.
Sorry to hear about your friend, Andy. I hope you all were able to find an affordable solution. With my husband and later my Mom, cremation was chosen and the cost around $5000. And then there is the cost of the internment, if you so choose. Mom had a prepaid plan, but the cost of the marker was a lot more than I had imagined. I'm with Sandi on this subject, none of that ridiculousness when it is my time. Of course my family may have other ideas.
Spending the winter in Oklahoma has been a very nice change from the past few years. Of course being around my family is wonderful, and the milder weather and SUNSHINE certainly helps.
I've been reading the blog every day, but had misplaced my Google password, so couldn't post. I miss hearing from the people who regularly posted in the past. Ah, but life goes on and things change.
In April I will go see Jane Goodall. She is coming to BC. I just bought tickets. Will drive six hours to go see her! Worth it all. A woman I have long admired.
Jealous, Hoda! Seeing and hearing Jane Goodall would be awesome!
We are all for cremation! Laurel will have to hike in Colorado to scatter our ashes. LOL. Plan to live a long time, hope she is fit and able! Lol
Two days now we have spent in just the back yard and it is not finished. So, we are not even a 4th done! However, it is the largest and hardest yard to do.
Tomorrow no yard work! TCU bowl game and afterwards head to Dallas to Michael's.
ANDY: hugs! HODA: wow, that's an incredible opportunity! love that you get to go!
JUDYE: hey sis!
a chilly morning here, winter has found us. work today, then off! ready to sleep in. hope everyone has great last weekday of 2016! hugs and love to all!
Nest is currently MT although the Bald Eagles 101 ladies on Facebook say that both eagles have visited the nest this morning. Those ladies must have the live cam on 24/7! It looks mighty cold and windy in Shepherdstown and it has just started to snow.
Hoda, Jane Goodall - what an amazing experience that will be!
Checking in to Wish You All a Happy Ending to 2016 and the best of everything in 2017!
Have only skimmed a bit here, but Wow, HODA, tickets to see Jane Goodall, Yeah!!! Since you bought "tickets" I reckon you'll have some good company for the long drive over and back. The drive will be worth it!
Good to see our resident Sooner is enjoying winter away from PA!
ANDY, sorry for your loss. Luckie is mighty lucky to have you and your Kubby at her side.
Agree with you who have decided on cremation, private placement of cremains and spending as little as possible---speaking from experience with my Stan, even that is not inexpensive.
Thanks to all who've reported on and taken pictures of our Belle, Shep and even an unwanted visitor. I've yet to catch any of them in the nest, but the time fast approaches where they'll be busy there much of the time.
Again, Happy New Year and prayers for all in need!
good afternoon to all! last day of 2016. what a year!
tom and I are beginning to work on our 2017 vacation plan. we are planning on going to Michigan to see my friends and do the Henry Ford Museum! lol. I told him we must be getting more "geeky" in our old age as I am very excited about the museum. They have such cool stuff there and I hope to spend 2 to 3 days there!
It is chilly and windy here today. Planning on doing crafty stuff, nothing too much. I have a new word burning kit I am anxious to try out.
We have had an eagle in the nest for about 4 hours now with just a couple of fly outs and then back ins. Someone else will have to help me with which eagle it is. Not a lot of nest work has been done; just seems to be maintaining a presence to let any visitors/intruders know that this nest is already spoken for!
And happy last day of 2016 to all of my eagle friends on the blog!
Artic front again headed our way! Laurel is burning her snow candle I am sure, however only flurries are predicted!
Heading to Denton about 2:00. Going to let the dogs out for pottybreak when we arrive. Then Goto Laurel's school where Jack is going to install a rope across her new "Restricted" bookcase. She has hundreds of books for the kids to read. However some books disappear regularly, very popular books. So they are going on this shelf, out of reach. To check them out they have to sign in blood. LOL. All her bookcases are off white, this one is black! It is on top of a closet behind her desk. It will have a gold tasseled rope across the front with a sign. Straight out of Harry Potter! LOL
Have cam up, but going to be working on taking down decorations!
Wanted to mention.....you may have heard on the news about the twins born in Arlington. One in 2016 and one in 2017. Well the doctor who delivered them is a good friend. Actually, she is Laurel's age, grew up in our church. She is like a daughter. Really fun to read her comments about the twins. She is a popular OB/GYN.
Also the girl was born first she was seven pounds and something and then the boy was born and he was 6 something I'm not for sure who this is but they're big babies they were due on the 23rd of January so they came early
Debi Chiapini posted on Facebook that one of the eagles got his/her wing caught on a branch and that, when the other eagle tried to help, both of them fell over the edge of the nest. Yikes! I've been watching for a few minutes now and have heard a couple of eagle calls but haven't seen either eagle.
So far as I can tell all is well in our Eagle Realm. I am taking the report of falling out with a grain of salt. Remembering Mema Jo not wanting us to engage in information...always question based on our knowledge and observations. I was not there...I do not know. They have flown in and out thousands of times. Not sure what branch one might have gotten caught in. Thank you for reporting on the report Sandi.
Fun time at Joseph's game! He is playing well. Played the whole game except when he hit the back of his head on the floor. It was LOUD! Everyone gasped and we sat frozen. Trainer checked him out for a concussion and it was determined he was okay. The boy goes at it full force. He has had three head injuries so far this season. Yikes! But, so proud of his playing!
Jacob's games start this coming Saturday. No plans to go this week. Certainly wish we lived closer! It is approx 60 miles away, through Fort Worth on I 35. I 35 is under major construction, adding lanes! It is a mess! Took us 1 1/2 hours to get home!
Have had eye on cam this morning. So far no 🦅 for me to see!
Back to taking down decorations. Do I over decorate? Why, yes I do!😱
Whew! All decorations down...except for tree. Told Laurel, as. Was taking down decorations I am also cleaning, sorting and getter ng rid of some stuff. Slow process. But, I see the end!
Artic front arrives today, possible snow flurries tomorrow. Happy to have cold weather again. Keeps me indoors and accomplishing things!
Forgot to mention.....as we were coming home Tuesday night we saw an owl flying. He was flying over the side of the road, same direction we were going, and we were behind him! Beautiful to see that large bird flying!
It is snowing at the nest....just as predicted....don't think This area will get too much... Happy New Year, Everyone....Hope the Christmas holidays brought and held lots of Joy... I am hoping to emerge from my self-imposed shell.... Best Way to do that is to say Hi !
God Bless this Nest, and God Bless Us, Every One xoxox
Sooooooo good to see you read you and celebrate you Marjie... Emerge dear friend from your self imposed shell any time you want. Glad you posted. Please share news of your family and activities... Love and Light to you...
good evening to all. another busy week almost complete. whew!
I was down for a couple of days for muscle spasms; but I worked 40 hours over the previous 2 weeks....probably not my best choice. paycheck was good tho. :)
not too much going on here. we've had a few snow flurries tonight. there is a small dusting here and there. not enough to track a cat.
hope everyone is well. Magpie: so lovely to see you on here!
good morning. good grief! I guess I wasn't very clear. I had worked 40 hours of massage over the past 2 weeks....and my body revolted by having muscle spasms in my back Tuesday.....very painful but not 40 hours of spasm. my oh my. that would be like labor.
Yea!!!! So happy happy happy to see your post Margy! Wahoooo! Miss being in touch with you! Love and hugs!
COLD here today. Presently 24, but no snow! Possible flurries but I have not seen it! Cardinals all over the back yard, at feeders, pecking at frozen bird baths, and playing in the stream that is not frozen! That was fun to watch!
This afternoon we are headed to the movies! Celebrating all decorations stored away! House back to normal.
The wanna be Queen is celebrating her birthday today! Happy Birthday Wanna Be!👸👸👸👸👸👸👸
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LYNNE 2! Thank you for the birthday wishes! its been a good day. I went to work this morning, left just after 7 Tom had called me to tell me the roads were a mess, consider staying home.
But they called for "just a dusting"....and I can drive in snow. it was that powdery snow. so okay. I headed in as there was a client that for several reasons I didn't want to cancel on.
that client did come in and when I came out of session, boss told me to go home, they were closing the clinic.
metro schools were initially open this morning, but the snow hit at a.m. rush hour and by 8 a.m. they called half day for schools, which REALLY messed things up.
I was fine going in. I took the back roads and stayed away from other people. HOWEVER coming home.....I got stuck half way up the hill next to ours. between kitty litter and good Samaritans I made it home.
it hasn't gotten above 20 today.
nancy and chris just called from VA BEACH. they are under a BLIZZARD WARNING! their local weather is calling for 12" of snow and high winds. wow! unusual there!
we took our one cat (Natasha) to the vet today as she seems to have a cold. and she does. so she has meds and hopefully will be on the mend soon. she's been sniffly and sneezy for a couple of days and I didn't want to go into the weekend with a puny cat and end up at the er vet.
going to enjoy a lovely quiet evening. will celebrate with family tomorrow night.
Shredding Shredding Shreddin... Determined to get rid of the paper avalanche that I seem to carry around in boxes... Six large boxes of paper that I want to go through and empty, or at least reduce to one or two boxes. Hope everyone is doing alright. Anyone see the eagles today? I did not.
Snow is melting. Yet I think the live feed is frozen. It still shows daylight. It should be 5:25 PM over there. So certainly dark... Anyone else has any luck with the cam today?
Hi all from snowy Bethany Beach - at least a foot of snow here and it's still not finished.
Just opened the live cam and WE HAVE AN EAGLE SITTING IN THE NEST! So Hoda, I'm sure the live cam is working. I've had it up and running all day and haven't seen either eagle until now. I was very surprised to see an eagle in the nest this late in the evening!
Howdeeeee! Has been a busy day! First off went to church to take down decorations. Then ran errands. HAD to by a new Coffee pot as mine died this morning. Yes, horrible experience! Lol
Jack and I did a little shopping then made a decision. Came home, made a phone call, and now waiting for a handyman. My hubby is handy but he is also 76! I am a do it myselfer, too, but I am not far behind Jack! Yikes! When we enlarged the master bath 20 years ago we had wallpaper put in. Now want wallpaper removed, walls testured and painted. Also, need a little repair done on the shower tile. Wonder how much this is going to run?
Hoda, we were going to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Also, want to see Rogue One. We will go this next week. Decided not to go yesterday as weather was too nasty? We ended up with a dusting of snow, Laurel had just a wee bit more.
I guess stranger things have happened but it seems awfully, awfully early for an egg. Maybe there is an unfamiliar eagle in the area and Belle is making sure s/he doesn't pay an unwanted visit to the nest?
7:58 your time, East coast, and sure enough Miss Belle is in the nest. I agree with Sandi it seems awfuly early for eggs... Glad to see her. She is not tucked in... Has anyone seen any mating activity? Read any reports?
840 amd she is still in... still not tucking and yet still... I wonder if she will leave in the middle of the night. It is blowing a gale over there...
Hoda, sure it is Belle? I haven't seen it good enough to make a decision! Very unusual for Belle to sleep over and eggs usually aren't laid until late February I think.
yes, with belle nest sitting, I think maybe soon we shall see some eggs! :) :)
have had such a lovely day. yesterday too. when I got home, I just did whatever pleased me, which was basically playing with my wood burning kit, etc. easy dinner and relaxing!
today, the kids and I went and had pedicures, except for livvy who had a manicure. it was COLD, but we wandered out. we seem to have been the first customers of the day!
we grabbed lunch at New York Pie, which was YUMMY. they have a white pizza, with cheeses to include ricotta, oh my stars it is so good. we bought it by the slice. followed up with some nice tea! yes yes yes.
then I had a shopping spree at big lots. don't laugh. I love that place. I had decided the other day to organize my arts stuff. when I first put it in the cabinet I picked out, I had just enough to almost fill that cabinet. well over the years.....yeah......so I bought 10 plastic bins (see thru) and separated my supplies into types: ie: sewing, cross stitch, paint, etc and put the supplies into the bins. I already had selves up in that room, so it was easy! I was very pleased with myself! lol.
I also bought some new kitchen towels, dish cloths and oven mitts. my treat to me.
this evening I found out that my neighbor, miss peggy is now alone on the weekends. her son, (who is my age and has lived with her for a couple years now due to a divorce) has a girlfriend and is spending his weekends at her house, which is normal and good, but Ms. Peggy is 77 years old and the winter is so lonely and hard on her. I invited her out to dinner with us tonight and she seemed happy to accept.
We went to Jim & Nicks, which is a local yummy bbq place, then back to the house for ice cream and cake. :)
I walked Miss Peggy home, didn't want her to fall. she was so sweet, she thanked me for including her.
I hate that she's alone on the weekends. iwill have to make sure to check in with her.
now, it is quiet and all is well. might go to see the new star wars movie tomorrow....
The nest is currently MT. According to the Eagle Cam Facebook page, Belle stayed in the nest all night and left around 7am this morning. Only Belle knows why.
Janet, what a thoughtful thing you did for Miss Peggy - good on you, as Hoda would say!
We have a foot of snow outside with drifts much higher. The actual temperature is 18 degrees but the real feel is 4 degrees. Temps aren't supposed to get out of the 20s today so there won't be much melting going on, even with the sun out.
Good afternoon! Waiting for Fritz family to arrive for the afternoon!
Happy to see no eagle in the nest. Too early for an egg. Ready, though, to see HP!
Sandi, that is a lot of snow for you, right? We are beginning to warm up. 13 yesterday morning, 23 this morning and presently 46. Going back up to the 70's. Up and down, up and Down. Not good!
Wednesday my bathroom gets torn apart. Having wallpaper taken down, texture added to the walls, and walls painted. Decided to go this way instead of new wallpaper. I had looked at wallpaper and saw nothing I liked. Would have liked to have found what I already have which is a soft yellow, narrow stripe. Need to get out and get paint tomorrow.
Somehow I missed it was your birthday too, Janet. Hope it was a happy one and best wishes for the new year!
No eagle in the nest still. I agree Lolly too early for eggs.
Sounds good about the bathroom and hiring someone to do it.
I missed Janet's Birthday too...happy belated
Is someone going to take on what Jo used to do on setting out Birthday and Anniversary calendar foe 2017? I am not sure that I know how to do that...any takers? Is this information on record somewhere or are we going to start from scratch. Maybe someone write Mr Ed to see if it is on Jo's computer? Putting it out there if you all were interested.
Shredding more papers and watching the cam...
Cold and Grey. My Internists wants to see me in February. Did I tell you all this already? My Doctor comes bsck from SOuth Africa on Monday and then we have to see about the surgery if I am to have it or not. I am hoping not.
Hoda, I've been on my laptop a lot today with the live cam running and have seen no eagle activity.
I don't know how to set up the birthday/anniversary reminders on the Yahoo site and I'm not sure it can be done without having administrator access. With Jo gone, Paula is the only administrator for the site. I get my birthday reminders about folks from Facebook. Sorry.
To help Paula out maybe one of the old timers could apply to be an administrator? Let us discuss it off line, if anyone is interested, and Paula is agreeable...
Some here are not on FB and not all of us are "Friends" on FB. THank you Sandi. Love Miss Freyja's picture...

good morning to all. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOLLY thank you all for the belated birthday wishes!
how did Jo send the information? was it via email?
some one could gather birthday dates and put them in an excel spreadsheet and then just shoot out an email once a month. seems simple enough.....
anyway, our cold weather is supposed to break today. already it is 40, which is warmer than we have been in several days. I am glad.
busy off day ahead, so need to get moving. had nasty muscle spasms in my back again this morning, so I need to get my self stretching and strengthening....I tend to be lazy so sometimes my body has to kick me somewhere to get me motivated (stay motivated).
Good morning! Thank you for the birthday wishes! Thank you, Kay, for coming on to do so. Miss you and need you to peek inmore often!❤
Have nothing special planned for today. Laurel and boys came yesterday to help me celebrate and we had fun! Going out to eat tomorrow as Nona Tattas closed today. Michael did not come over as he was getting Zach at 6:00.

30cm of snow expected.
Over and above what we already have.
Stay safe everyone.
Time to get busy! Have a good day!
Good morning eagle momlets!
LOLLY condolences to the family.
It's is hot. I am sweating doing housework so I turned on the AC but probably just for the day!
Suppose to be in the lo 80s today but high 70 s tomorrow!
Gonna head out want to go check out he 5 and below store
Angie set up with them a deal that the school gets 10% of all sale donated to the school
Condolences Lolly.
Prayers going up.
Good decision not to travel.
Hi, Everyone,
Lolly, I'm so very sorry to hear that your sister-in-law's mother has passed.
Good morning.
Enjoy your day.
If it gets a tad warmer I might go skiing today.
Good morning eagle momlets!
68° now 76 high guess should open windows For a couple of days before the next change
Second hatch at NE FL nest
Two cuties to watch
LOLLY: hugs hugs and hugs
HODA: I was going thru holiday cards from last year the other night (yes, I save them) and found one from Jo. I just sat there, holding it, treasuring her, remembering, honoring, feeling both joy and sadness.....
MS> BOOKWORM: I've been putting out additional feed here as well. It was 17 yesterday morning with freezing fog. while quite beautiful.....cold!
JUDYE: HI SIS :)
I see the sun this morning and although there's a heavy frost, I think it will be a gorgeous day.
hugs and love to all
Good morning!
Ok, gotta get with it!
Mend fast! Whoops!
Eaglein nest
Good morning,
Going to bake cinnamon rolls today as well as other food prep.
Hi, Everyone,
Well, it's been raining here, all night, and all this morning.
I ♥ us!
Good morning eagle momlets!
ANDY so happy you got to see the regal pair
Good morning!
EAGLE ALERT!!!!!!!
This one's tail feathers are not totally white??
I'm pretty sure this adult is neither Shep nor Belle? :(
I noticed that also. Dark tail feather on end
I got a couple of snips.
Odd
Making itself at home on stump
Also dark spot on head. In nest from stump
Anyone else here
Looks like a female I think
Yes, an intruder for sure! On fb blog, others are watching. Possible Palmer from a few years back! LOL
Good afternoon my eagle friends.
I've been watching the intruder in the nest since reading a post from Deb Stecyk on Facebook. This eagle - a female Deb thinks - is looking way too comfortable and has been in the nest for way too long.
Hello. LOLLY.
PRETTY thing she is
SANDI she sure does look to comfortable to me also
Found somesome nestovers back to stump
In a way I hope our pair show up to chase her off
But then I don't want a fight hops she poof soon
A hour she has been there
I guess you all are over chatting on the messenger on. FB
Judy, I don't want a fight. But I DO want one, or both, of our eagles to let this eagle know she needs to get on her way and find her own nest!
Brian, Lynnis & Freyja have been visiting so it has been very busy here. Tomorrow we will head to Baltimore to spend a few days with family.
In case I don't get back on the blog, I want to wish everyone the merriest of Christmases!
She still there that was in the nest now back to the stump I've gotta head out gotta pick up Jordyn in a little bit. Then head over to their house for presents.
the eagle poofed right after I posted the last post But my tablet went down Been having issues this am with it I guess rebooting itself what a Pia
Jordyn is in camp today Angie didn't work but she asked if she could still go to camp They are doing so many holiday activities
Goodorming my eagle friends. The nest has been MT while I've been watching but apparently the intruder eagle paid a visit this morning. Whether it's Palmer or some random visiting eagle, this doesn't make me happy.
Merry Christmas to all!
Good morning eagle momlets!
Happy Christmas Eve
Steve made a comment on the pic of the intruder eagle. ""Lots of competition for nesting habitat in the Chesapeake watershed. ""
EAGLE ON STUMP
I THINK NOT OURS
And gone
A younger one than yesterday lot younger
What do you think maybe belle has a sublet sign out LOL
Two different eagles in two days. Geezer I can't take it
EAGLE IN NEST AGSIN
And gone. I got snip looks like ours
P.S. DID put pictures in the Nook. Enjoy!!
good evening to all!
fabulous day at work. all week I've been giving my clients a lindor truffle at the end of the session. people have liked that. :)
we closed at three. only 1 therapist wasn't fully booked. people are ever so stressed this time of the year!
came home and had some odds and ends to do....and made dinner. easy stuff. and I tried this second batch of egg nog and I will never ever buy egg nog again! that is so incredibly yummy. it has the texture and similar taste to tiramisu.
MERRY CHRISTMAS THE EAGLE BUDLETS!
Just got home from Angie's dinner and he dad and brother was there
Good morning Judy. Merry Christmas everyone. I see some unwanted visitors at the nest lately.
Merry Christmas all.
Lots of birds flying about.
Snowing too.
Will check in with the nest to see if anyone is in.
Belle is in the House!
Merry Merry!
Looking about.
Someone is flying above her.
I hear another eagle call.
Odd that the cup is closer to the stump.
Could be camera angle.
First I saw the V the longer I watch the less prominent it is. So it could be Shep.
Gone!
good evening to one and all.
I just know they are going to have this incredible time!
hugs and love to all!
Hi, Everyone,
I hope everyone has had a wonderful, blessed Christmas!
I have the nest up and it is empty.
I LOVE US!
EAGLE!!
good morning to all.
ANDY: light and love, hugs and condolences I am so sorry my friend.
SHARON: so exciting! congrats!
just popped in to say hey!
hugs and love to all
Good morning eagle budlets!
ANDY so sorry for the loss of your friend
SHAR congrats on the up coming wedding so happy she found someone decent
Both in nest
Thank you Judy for the heads up.
Windy there too.
Still there.
Hanging out.
Mostly just claiming the space and looking out on the world around them.
Poof Belle to the stump first and then gone.
Shep looks around and is following flight patterns that seem to indicate circling above head.
Still there.
Comfortable in the cup
just popping in and there's an eagle!!!!! :D :D :D
Indeed Judy!
Still there!
K I stand corrected!
From the rounded tail and how much she fills the cup it is Belle in the nest.
So Shep is the one who poofed earlier.
Got up for a sec and pulled rough and back down
Pulled flugg.
How are those alike lol computer rough not flugg
I just have to say it is heartbreaking to watch our beloved eagles and know that Jo isn't with us anymore.
Both were there and now both pofed
She is always with us in our hearts Sharon and know that she's watching also
The NCTC Conservation training center FB page they used one of my photos today. Must be someone on the momsters page. Its pretty Kool! I posted on the secret FB page someone must be on there from that site NEAT
Steve must have shared it
Saw it Judy.
Very cool.
Good morning eagle budlets
Good afternoon my eagle friends.
This was in my Facebook memories today from 5 years ago:
Jo Lennox to Sandi Roberts
December 27, 2011 at 11:18am ·
Hi Sandi, Thanks for befriending me! I'll look forward to keeping
up to date with you. Summer time we are down in Fenwick Island
area.
Reports say she never recovered from her cardiac arrest......she was only 60.
its been a rough year with regards to how many people have passed thru the veil this year....people of fame and stature.
hope everyone is doing well. love and hugs to all
Well I am baaaaaaack!
Happy Anniversary Lynne (HRH) and Steve.
Eight Years.
Blessed Be the both of you.
Love and Light...
Howdeeeee! Totally exhausted! Worked raking leaves all day. Guess we will do it again tomorrow. Also going to plant bulbs. Another day that went up to 80! Last year we had a dusting of snow on this day. Anyway, we got a lot done. The penalty for having trees....leaves to rake! Ugh!
You love your yard Lolly!
We live your yard too.
Well done today.
Prayers Andy. Sorry for your loss.
Rough on the Fisher/Reynolds family!
Tough two days they have had! RIPX2
Have a greyt day!
Hi, Everyone,
There's an eagle in the nest.
I ♥ us!!
And POOF! MT nest.
Good morning eagle budlets!
Good morning!
Many people in Canada now cremate and scatter the ashes in a favourite spot. We then make a donation to a worthy cause.
It is what my American family does too. Ridiculous to pay such amounts! The industry has gone out of hand!
Some furry (???) Blotch lower right of the cam. Not moving.
Hoda, I think what you're seeing is rain on the lense of the camera.
I'm with you on the cost of funerals. After paying for my mom's, I told Dennis and the boys that there will be none of that ridiculousness when I die.
SED to all.
TCU bowl game and afterwards head to Dallas to Michael's.
good morning to all.
last workday of 2016 for me.
ANDY: hugs!
HODA: wow, that's an incredible opportunity! love that you get to go!
JUDYE: hey sis!
a chilly morning here, winter has found us.
work today, then off! ready to sleep in.
hope everyone has great last weekday of 2016!
hugs and love to all!
Good morning my eagle friends.
Have a greyt day!
Good RED FRIDAY Morning, Eagle Buds!!!
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Good morning!
Some windy at the nest!
Yikes!
The tree is swaying!
The wind is howeling.
Yes Kay I am going with a French National who lives in Nelson.
1 eagle in a very windy nest!
oooh! popping In to see 1 eagle in the nest in the tree! :)
Good morning - one eagle in the nest!
Good morning eagle budlets
Happy new year Eve day
We had a chilly start
In the 40 but will be short lived back to 80 tomorrow
good afternoon to all!
last day of 2016. what a year!
tom and I are beginning to work on our 2017 vacation plan. we are planning on going to Michigan to see my friends and do the Henry Ford Museum!
Check in ya'll! Hugs
Sandi,
Right now the one in the nest is Shep I do believe. Tail uneven. Beak opening goes to centre eye indicating male. I do not see a V
Happy New Year to all.
Both eagles in the nest.
Windy.
Have been there for most of the day.
Every time I checked in one or the other, or both have been there.
HAPPY,HAPPY!!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Happy New Year!!!!
Stopping by to say Happy New Year. I see a sunny and empty nest.
Good afternoon eagle budlets
Beautiful first day of the year in the lo 80s
Good morning! Cool but sunny! Had storms during the night and thankful for a little rain. It has been very dry and several grass fires. Scary!
We took down our outdoor decorations yesterday and will start on the indoors today. Also, need to visit the grosssssserie store!
Tomorrow we head to Denton for basketball!
Going to start monitoring the cam a little more. Have been too busy to watch!
I wish everyone the best for 2017. 2016 was a very sad year. Lost way too many good friends.
Time to get up and start moving...coffee is gone!
Good almost afternoon my eagle friends.
One eagle just landed in the nest!
Now both are in!
It was Shep that arrived first, then Belle.
Both poofed in the same order. MT nest again.
Hello Eaglebuds
Just got back from Busch gardens
Good morning eagle budlets
Good morning!
Have a great day!
She is a popular OB/GYN.
good morning to all!
We had twins also one at 1156 and other at 1201 In Brooksville
Also the girl was born first she was seven pounds and something and then the boy was born and he was 6 something I'm not for sure who this is but they're big babies they were due on the 23rd of January so they came early
Debi Chiapini posted on Facebook that one of the eagles got his/her wing caught on a branch and that, when the other eagle tried to help, both of them fell over the edge of the nest. Yikes! I've been watching for a few minutes now and have heard a couple of eagle calls but haven't seen either eagle.
Eagle in nest.
I do believe it is Shep
He called out twice before he landed.
Seems well. No signs of trauma.
One eagle in the nest now; still hoping to see the other.
Hi there Hoda! Happy New Year to you!
Ahhh, now both are there - all is well.
Just flew out.
HNY Sandi.
Both in nest.
No signs of trauma
Belle out.
Shep still in.
Good morning. Empty nest now.
Good morning!

Artic front arrives today, possible snow flurries tomorrow. Happy to have cold weather again. Keeps me indoors and accomplishing things!
Have a great day!
Please excuse typos! Actually auto corrections! Boo hiss!

Magpie: so lovely to see you on here!
love and hugs to all stay warm and well
Janet!
40 hours of spasms?
Yikes that must have been awful!!!
Glad you are improving
good morning.
good grief! I guess I wasn't very clear.
I had worked 40 hours of massage over the past 2 weeks....and my body revolted by having muscle spasms in my back Tuesday.....very painful but not 40 hours of spasm. my oh my. that would be like labor.
so sorry!
good morning and hugs to all
Good morning eagle budlets
Another cold front coming this weekend. Not gonna like that
Welcome back. MARGY

Good morning!
Happy Birthday Wanna Be!👸👸👸👸👸👸👸
Happy Birthday Your Majesty Wanna Be!
Love to you...
Sorry Janet. Thank you for the correction. My misreading. Glad you are alright.
Cold and snowy here.
Working on sending out my yearly donations.
What movie will you watch Lolly?
Did Laurel have a snow day today.
I have not seen the Eagles today yet.
Anyone else?
HOWEVER coming home.....I got stuck half way up the hill next to ours. between kitty litter and good Samaritans I made it home.
it hasn't gotten above 20 today.
nancy and chris just called from VA BEACH. they are under a BLIZZARD WARNING! their local weather is calling for 12" of snow and high winds. wow!
unusual there!
we took our one cat (Natasha) to the vet today as she seems to have a cold. and she does. so she has meds and hopefully will be on the mend soon. she's been sniffly and sneezy for a couple of days and I didn't want to go into the weekend with a puny cat and end up at the er vet.
going to enjoy a lovely quiet evening. will celebrate with family tomorrow night.
love and hugs to all!
Good morning eagle budlets
Been looking at all the snow pictures from so many people on Facebook
We got the cold front. Colder but no snow Wind chill in 30s
Saw a low last night of 13. Brrrrr!
Hi Sandi! Just saw your post and went right to the cam. Whoa! What is an eagle doing sitting in the nest at this time?
Reckon we will have an egg tonight?
Hi Shar!
I guess stranger things have happened but it seems awfully, awfully early for an egg. Maybe there is an unfamiliar eagle in the area and Belle is making sure s/he doesn't pay an unwanted visit to the nest?
715 and the eagle is still in the nest I'm assuming it BELLE
7:58 your time, East coast, and sure enough Miss Belle is in the nest.
I agree with Sandi it seems awfuly early for eggs...
Glad to see her.
She is not tucked in...
Has anyone seen any mating activity?
Read any reports?
840 amd she is still in...
still not tucking and yet still...
I wonder if she will leave in the middle of the night.
It is blowing a gale over there...
The nest is swaying,,,
gracious me.
She is still there.
Belle is awake,
Still in nest.
Facing west, if top of screen is North...
Very disturbing when the wind picks up and the tree sways.
Happening right now.
Belle still in.
Hoda, sure it is Belle? I haven't seen it good enough to make a decision! Very unusual for Belle to sleep over and eggs usually aren't laid until late February I think.
hi all!
yes, with belle nest sitting, I think maybe soon we shall see some eggs! :) :)
have had such a lovely day. yesterday too. when I got home, I just did whatever pleased me, which was basically playing with my wood burning kit, etc. easy dinner and relaxing!
today, the kids and I went and had pedicures, except for livvy who had a manicure. it was COLD, but we wandered out. we seem to have been the first customers of the day!
we grabbed lunch at New York Pie, which was YUMMY. they have a white pizza, with cheeses to include ricotta, oh my stars it is so good. we bought it by the slice. followed up with some nice tea! yes yes yes.
then I had a shopping spree at big lots. don't laugh.
I hate that she's alone on the weekends. iwill have to make sure to check in with her.
now, it is quiet and all is well. might go to see the new star wars movie tomorrow....
hope everyone has a lovely restful evening!
Eagle still in nest! Funny thing, eagle has not moved since I last looked. Strange!
Ok, just saw eagle lift head and look around. This is really strange and very early for eggs.
Good morning eagle budlets
BRRRRR FL is cold. 35 now
Our coldest day in several years
Berry college has two eggs saw on FB
MT NEST
On fb it was 707 when Belle left nest
I do recall last year Belle in nest early
Goodorming my eagle friends.
Have a greyt day all!
Good morning Judy - you were posting while I was typing.
35 degrees in FL????? Oh my!
Happy Birthday to Jenat and Lynne2. My apologies for being late.
Good afternoon! Waiting for Fritz family to arrive for the afternoon!
Happy to see no eagle in the nest. Too early for an egg. Ready, though, to see
HP!
No eagle in the nest...
I did not see anyone today.
Has anyone else?
Nest is still empty.
Snow completely gone.
Windy.
Happy Birthday Lolly.
So happy we are friends and so very grateful for your insights and your humour.
May 2017 be a Blessed Year for you and yours.

Here to wish Lolly a happy day and I see by recent posts I missed Janet's big day. May you both enjoy many more!!!
I'm off to get my do did and thanking Mother Nature for providing a bit of a warm up and clear roads.
Prayers for those in need!!!

good morning to all. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOLLY
thank you all for the belated birthday wishes!
how did Jo send the information? was it via email?
some one could gather birthday dates and put them in an excel spreadsheet and then just shoot out an email once a month. seems simple enough.....
anyway, our cold weather is supposed to break today. already it is 40, which is warmer than we have been in several days. I am glad.
busy off day ahead, so need to get moving. had nasty muscle spasms in my back again this morning, so I need to get my self stretching and strengthening....I tend to be lazy so sometimes my body has to kick me somewhere to get me motivated (stay motivated).
love to all. have a wonderful day! :) :) :)
We have an eagle in our nest, doing some digging in the fluff.
