Vegged this evening and watched some tv while working a jigsaw puzzle on my iPad! Wore myself out today!

I see we have had some action of the not so good kind at our nest. Wow! Not good! Sorry I missed it!

I will comment to Laurel about the belly band.

Heading to the shower and then the pillows! Night all!

Do appreciate the kind remarks concerning M andA. She did text me today and sent pictures of Zach with Santa.

JUST SAW WING STRETCH FROM THE stump

JudyEddy said...

sub was in nest and went to stump

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends. The nest looks MT though it's possible someone is up on the stump or in the tree. It looks dry in Shepherdstown - not dry here! More rain off and on throughout today with temps in the 60s.

Yesterday was indeed a glorious day! When we last saw Freyja in late July, she was still a baby - now she's a little person with a mouth full of teeth and lots of words and such a personality. She says some things in English and others in Spanish - too cute!

I hope the excitement in the nest last night doesn't become a big deal - fine to have someone just passing through but if s/he is planning to take up residence, there will be trouble.

Have a greyt day all!

Sandi said...

I just saw dark tail feathers on the stump and then saw a blur (Belle or Shep) that chased the youngster away.

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

MT nest overlooking a foggy scene. Nary an eagle, legit or intruder in sight. The vivid colors in the nest make it look like spring or summer!

SANDI, So happy and not at all surprised to learn that yesterday was a "glorious day". No doubt this day will be equally wonderful. Freyja will be bi-lingual with her second language being of more importance with every passing day here in our country. Wonderful!

I reckon our blog will be a bit slow for the next couple of days as we all enter the holidays---ready or not, here we come!

Prayers for all in need!!!

Good morning.

Rainy! Gloomy! Foggy! Bah humbug!

Stuuuuuuuuupid cars!

Darth took his injured vehicle to a doctor appointment. I had to cancel my "do" appointment.

Darth is going to Pep Boys this afternoon. I sure hope they can find some pep for my Corolla. Corolla starter has some problem with cellulite (um, maybe that celluloid?) Well, whatever, it's sick.

Oh, in case no one noticed, I am a happy camper NOT!

Jo, enjoy having Christine's family with you.

Sandi, enjoy time with Freyja.

I wish everyone a lovely day.

Lolly said...

Good morning!

Sorry, Judie, for the car woes! Not fun!

About to depart to the kitchen. Today is pie day and Laurel and the boys arrive this afternoon! Let the fun begin!

Will try to keep an eye on the nest today!

We got our AAA magazine today and it said there are over 200 nesting pairs of Eagles in Texas. Also, just east of Dallas there is a small town that has an eagle fest and sight seeing tours. We are considering going!

Time to get a move on!

Oh, and Sandi, soak up that Freja love!!♥️

grannyblt said...

Judie I think the word is solenoid. I remember from days of my DH talking about car parts and it wasn't spelled like I thought it might be.

Mema Jo said...

Good morning to all ♥

The lunch guest should be arriving soon - all 6 of them.
Raining here and also now at the nest.

Sub-adult has gone but no idea to where or for how long.

Time to get the table ready
I will be back later today

Everyone enjoy your day

Sorry. My delete.

My goodness! Still raining here. However, would rather rain than snow.

Lynne1, yes, your spelling is correct. I guess I should have Googled. Anyway, you sparked my interest. Solenoid, cellulite, whatever, I hope it gets cured soon. Maybe I need to get one of those magic creams and rub on the ignition place.

Lolly, enjoy the arrival of Laurel and boys this afternoon.

Bet Jo is having a grand and glorious time right about now.

Oh, um, Lynne2, did you know that race horses can jump over fences? Yep, I bet you did know that. Too funny.

Bye

Just saw this cryptic caption posted on the Eagle Cam FB page with a photo of the nest with the young eagle on the stump and what looks like a blur from one of the 2 adult eagles:
11:34 am Sometimes there are posts that you do not want to post. Our young visitor made it back to stump and had to go to Heaven. Soar high and free young one.

No idea what the caption means - I saw the sub-adult get chased from the stump but there was no fight and no evidence that the young eagle was killed.

Rain, rain, and more rain here - yuk!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I don't read comments from anywhere but here.

Lolly said...

Interesting caption. .??? Just checked the nest, looks like we need a windshield wiper on the cam.

Two pies out of the oven, one to go!

Would you believe the puddle on our brick is about gone and we have three days of storms and rain predicted for the weekend. The south garden on the side of the house is still standing in water! Can not get I theretoclean out leaves.

Back to the pies!

Janet said...

good afternoon to all.

just in from work. checking in here and with the local weather. sheesh. tornado warnings to our west. not my favorite kind of weather.

I have baking/cooking to do.....just taking a break before I get started in the kitchen!

hugs to all

How sad to think an eagle has died regardless of cause. Perhaps it was not territorial but illness. Maybe an update will be given.

Did get cookies delivered to my hair stylist. Got my nails done. Got a new starter motor for my Corolla $400 -- part $140. Darth is in a money deficit coma. lol

Tomorrow's agenda for me is cooking ahead for Thursday for us and police.

Hope Jo stops by with a partee update.

Your comment made me giggle, Judie! Poor Darth!

Fritz plus Luke are here! Joey and Cosmo come tomorrow! I am exhausted but Laurel has brought a new 1500 piece puzzle! Oh dear!

Now I have a kitty that needs a bath. Roflmbo.....she jumped onto the counter and sat on a measuring cup of karo syrup! Naughty kitty!

home from work with Jordyn

I went looking for that post on the Eagle Cam page from 11 ish and its not there anylonger there is one from 8 ish with a heaven remark but only pic of wing tip on stump
I really don't know how they would have see much action or how they would know that the eagle died OH well Maybe someone in the area at the campus may know

Silly question in the 6 area of the nest there is a tree trunk or limb isn't there ?? I went looking for JO pic from the ground but can't seem to remember when they took it for her.

Jordyn has picked BM to eat at tonight trying to her her to get out of her PJ to go is a PIA LOL PJ day at school

apparently the Ft Meyers nest is having subadult issues in the past also Just saw pic that Vickie posted of it being flushed out of tree by adults Harriet I think

Sandi said...

Hi all.

Judy, I copied and pasted the Eagle Cam comment from 11:34am so I know it was there but you are right that it's gone now. I questioned the comment but never got a response. Now there is a comment under an earlier post that says someone thought the sub-adult was killed b/c it shrieked when it left but there is debate about its fate. I saw one of our eagles swoop down and chase the young bird off the stump - didn't hear anything b/c I had the volume turned down on my laptop. But it sure didn't look like a fight occurred that would have killed the bird. My guess is we may never know so it's good that Eagle Cam removed the comment.

Judie, if Darth is in a money deficit coma now over the cost of just a starter, please don't let him go to a car dealership to buy a whole car!! It will surely be the death of him!!!

Lolly, I'm laughing at the mental picture of a karo coated kitty!

I sure do wish it would stop raining! We have abandoned plans to go out for dinner and have opted to have pizza delivered instead!

I will say goodnight to everyone now. BTW, I got to sleep in until 6:08 this morning and I woke myself up - not one dog had started stirring yet! Maybe there's hope when I retire!

Judie said...

Dinner over. Scullery in order.

Sandi, we think alike. My current self-centered prayer is that we get moved BEFORE he buys a new car. lol He must have been looking online because he said earlier he might try to keep his Camry alive for another year or two. I must abide and endure. Perhaps the pups have sensed the upcoming life of leisure and the pleasure of sleeping late. So what's Freyja been up to? Did Janey like her? Did she like Janey? As the world of Bethany turns.

Ah, Karo syrup. Yummy! Oh, well, not so much on a kitty. Too funny!

JudyE, PJs mean a bowl of soup in the kitchen not dinner out.

Hoping Jo and Shirley and Kay check in tonight.

I am off to put my feet up. Channel surf. Then to the pillows.

Restful sleep for all.

Goodnight to all ♥

glad you checked in Janet and are OK. It's a very sad night.....

stronghunter said...

Good very late evening,

Actually, it is officially Christmas Eve now.

Oh my, Janet. Good that you are safe. I am guessing that there was a tornado near you. Thanks for letting us know you are okay. Prayers.

Had a doctor's appointment today. Then had to go over to the lab. I have another appointment on Monday. My colitis is acting up, and I am feeling a little draggy. I really needed to go to the grocery store for Christmas foods, and it was pouring rain, so I asked Hunter to come along with me. He can be funny and aggravating on such occasions. Among other things, he informed me that gravy is gravy and that it doesn't matter whether I have turkey gravy or some other kind. I just told him that it matters to me. He also insists that it is "stuffing." not "dressing." And, he could not understand why I was looking for the cubed kind of stuffing/dressing. But, he was very helpful, and insisted on loading everything into the trunk.

I think we got the very last turkey in the store. I also picked up a rib roast.

Thank you for filling us in on Ashley and Michael, Lolly. I hope that their divorce is not too difficult.

Goodness, Lolly, you make me tired just reading about all of the baking and cooking you do for Christmas. I am afraid we could not even begin to eat all of those things. Susan and Stephanie have mentioned bringing some things--Susan will bring a salad. Stephanie mentioned Cheerwine punch. I think she found it somewhere in North Carolina. I suggested a dessert or come cookies, and Steph is on that.

Oh my, Judie, so a new car might be in your future. Maybe. I just got word from my sister-in-law that my brother Fred has bought a red T-bird convertible. Goodness. I suppose you would be surprised if Darth showed up with something like that.

stronghunter said...

Merry Christmas eve!!
I hope everyone is ready for the holiday welcoming family and friends.
I see we have had a young'n visiting our nest. Hopefully, that won't cause any trouble.
All is well here. Aric arrived safely from Dayton and I am excited that he will be graduating in May.
I'm enjoying my time off from school and wish it was permanent! LOL! It's been a challenging year so far. Sandi, do you have a countdown yet? I should start one!

Janet said...

good morning friends.

Yes, I guess my comment was rather vague. Tornados. We were downstairs 2x yesterday. I do not tolerate this kind of weather well; it grates on my nerves badly. And yes, Linden, which is in Perry county, south of here, tornado tore thru about 6:30 last night, took out 3 homes and killed two people. Very very sad. Lots of damage.

heading to work in a bit. then home to fix a meal. kids will be over tonight to eat and just be together.

I did manage to make the chocolate coca cola cake last night for tomorrow. and I prepped the chicken for tonight. tom wants me to make this buffalo chicken thing stuffed in crescent rolls so it looks like a wreath. ? I have the video on facebook. so here we go. lol. doesn't look hard at all, really.

and I will make some spanakopita and tiropita. just finger foods. bbq smokies anyone want to come on over? Chelsea is bring a cheese ball and crackers and a fruit plate.

but for now, time for coffee and to wake up so I can do massage today!

make it a great day all! hugs

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends. Merry Christmas Eve!

Nest looks MT and dry - it's sure not dry here! More rain all day and temps near 70 - we could even have thunderstorms! But no tornadoes!

Janet, I bet those warnings and watches are very nerve-wracking. Glad your house and your family stayed safe.

Dana, enjoy your time with all your "chicks" home at the same time. No, I don't have an official countdown yet - I just know that 1/28 is the end of MP2 so that's the halfway point.

We will be heading to Baltimore this afternoon - celebrating with Denny's family this evening, staying at a dog-friendly hotel close to my sister's tonight, spending the day with my sister and family tomorrow, then another hotel night, and then having lunch with my BFF since 4th grade on Saturday before we drive home. Brian, Lynnis and Freyja will be with us this evening and for part of tomorrow.

I will have my ipad and phone with me and will check in when I can. Prayers continue for all the needs on the blog, especially for Glo's Becky, Jerry's wife, and Jo.

Have a greyt day all.

grannyblt said...

Wishing all my Eagle Momster and Dadster friends a Merry Christmas. I will be spending part of my day tomorrow with my neighbor who is in the rehab section of the hospital. She should be home soon.

I haven't checked the nest yet today. I would think that Shep and Belle are keeping a close eye out for any squatters.

Prayers for all in need.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

I'll be right over, Janet. Save some for me.

Watching the news on CNN. Really tough about the tornadoes. Prayers and good wishes for all of those people.

Thinking of Becky, Jo, and Jerry's family.

You are going to have a very busy Christmas, Sandi.

Judie said...

Good morning.

Happy Christmas Eve!

Janet, so glad you and family are safe but the day must have been filled with nervousness. Happy cooking.

Hi Dana. Enjoy having the family with you. So amazing to think Aric will graduate in May. Don't we all remember when he was "shopping" around for college?

Shirley, sorry you're feeling a bit puny. Take things slowly and let the others take control. Somehow, I have doubts that Hunter will be looking at culinary schools. lol Too funny. Still, so glad he was there to help you.

Sandi, safe travels and have a truly enjoyable time with family. Which new sleigh will you be using?

Darth purchasing a red T-bird convertible = not a snowball's chance in Lolly's hot oven.

Watching nests this morning. FL has an adorable eaglet. Out nest, Decorah, Berry nests all MT. Great video of the FL eaglet hatching - fascinating. Bei Bei not on camera. Bear watcher wrote a cute poem about the bears and their ducky.

Thinking of Jerry's wife and Glo's Becky.

Thinking Jo is sipping coffee and recovering from yesterday's festivities.

Wondering if racehorses eat cranberry sauce?

Wondering why I am sitting here just as if I have nothing to do?

Off to my own hot oven. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Mema Jo said...

Good morning to all ♥
Not raining but everywhere there are puddles and my deck of seed shells is horrible - Have to wait for some sun to dry it.
Shirley I hope you get yourself feeling better today. Hoping your Christmas day goes well for you.

The weather at Glo's was also threatening. The lady that Cat-sits for her had called and she was at Glo's house in the basement with the 2 kits. She told Glo that they were safe. I feel Gabby and Zoey are being well cared for ... but I bet they are wondering about Patches.

I haven't been over to FB yet .... The nest looks dry but MT... Not sure of the last time we saw our eagle couple.

Safe travels Sandi and family - Prayers for Jerry's wife - Prayers for Becky's speedy recovery.

WISHING EVERYONE MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE.

Merry Christmas EAGLE BUDS

Jordyn is still here but just wanted to pop in and give you all season greeting on this EVE of Christmas

Lolly said...

Merry Christmas Eve! Presently 74 and sun shining! The backyard is still swampy and water running over the sidewalk (we have a sidewalk that goes all around the house!). However, the brick extension of the covered patio is dry! First time since before Thanksgiving!

Jack cooked breakfast, then I prepared the turkey for the oven and started cooking the giblets for the dressing. But, have not been in the kitchen since! Laurel and Jack have been in the kitchen ever since preparing food for tonight's partying. Lots of yummy stuff! Nice not to be the one out there!

Shirley, we call it dressing as I do not stuff it into the turkey. I think it is called stuffing if you cook it in the turkey! I make a cornbread dressing. I started out following my mil's recipe , but have long since developed my own!

My turn in the kitchen. Time to mix up the dinner roll dough!

Amusing email we got from our (new) acting Park Director young lady was a picture of an Xmas tree topped w/lifesize picture of osprey nest and family! Wonder if it's her tree? Got her pic after I completed the Visitor Center Xmas tree. It's been up for a few weeks, but had no top!! I checked all the deco boxes in attic, but didn't find anything. The tree did have several large feathery cardinals on it, so I removed one from the back, made a beard out of a cotton ball and wired him to the top~~~~Santa Cardinal! HO HO HO

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! Enjoy the day.

I am not caught up on the blog. Have had another upper respiratory infection and it has really knocked me over. But Judie Just wanted you to know that chess pies and mince meat pies were what was made in our home. Fudge and homemade mints and a graham cracker fruit cake was common fare for the holidays. My mother died at 42 and we have no idea what happened to her recipes, those few that she had, so that's why I was so interested in yours. Thanks again!

Been up long enough! Still have some gifts to wrap and mischief to start!

Have a wonderful holiday. Will be thinking of you all.

Merry Ho Ho Ho!

First, Darth and I are wishing each of you a wonderful Christmas Eve and an even more wonderful Christmas Day.

Now, Santa had a very unique gift for us tonight. Darth is scheduled for surgery in about an hour. Santa decided this would be a good time to have a hernia pop out so....while not what we had hoped for in our stockings, he is in excellent care. The surgeon is highly qualified. Now, how 'bout that for a surprise?

Will provide an update sometime tomorrow. Hugs to all.

stronghunter said...

Oh my goodness, Judie. What a time to end up having surgery. Prayers and good wishes for you and Darth.

Will he have to spend Christmas Day in the hospital?

stronghunter said...

My dressing recipe began with my MIL's recipe, too, Lolly, but I have made my own changes. I used to put it in the turkey, but have started baking it separately.

Rus says that Hunter has the Cowger stubbornness and the Phillips intelligence. Interesting idea.

Janet said...

Good evening to one and all. Nashville reporting in; tired.
JUDIE: egads! So sorry to hear about the surgery. I hope all goes well.
NCSUZAN; hoping you are feeling much improved. Sorry that you were so ill!
Hey SHIRLEY: you sure are takin’ a long time to get here…left overs in the fridge if you are hungry when you get here. Lol
What a day. Yes, last night was maximum stressful…..the 2nd tornado warning they thought that one was forming over our area. Thankfully it dissipated quickly or they were wrong, just thankful either way.
Seeing all the destruction on the tv really puts a damper on our holiday spirit here.
Then, saw on the evening news….the next street over, one of the kids that rides Tom’s bus is dead 16. Gunshot. No other details. So stinking sad…
I did have a bit more of the holiday ho ho going on while the grandkids were here….but now I’m just plain tired.
Supposed to be in the 70’s again tomorrow. More storms predicted. I hope it doesn’t get severe.
Everyone sleep well. I think the sandperson is knocking at my window…..reminding me that santa is one the way.

Sweet dreams to all. Light, love and hugs for all

stronghunter said...

I think you all have had your share of severe weather, Janet. So sad about the boy who got shot.

Know what you mean about being tired. I decided I needed to quit for the day rather than try to do a few more things. I have trouble relaxing if I try to do too much.

Nice to see you on the blog tonight, Suzan. I am so sorry that you have been ill. Do not start too much mischief, please.

We still do not know if Susan is bringing Vince. I think I should ask. He does have gifts under the tree.

stronghunter said...

Judie, are you at home or at the hospital?

stronghunter said...

Goodness me, Janet, I tried to get there in time, but the tornadoes blew me all the way back to Virginia. Geesh.

Judie said...

Back for a moment.

Surgeon called. Surgery delayed. More critical surgeries first which is understandable. I asked about the surgeon and was told he is a general surgeon certified in both trauma and critical care and highly experienced. That's good.

I am at home. Stupid Santa. Very mean Grinch. And we all thought Jufie was bad.

So, surgery at ~midnight. Doctor who called at 9:30 said she would call me maybe 3-4 am. May be a day or two before he comes home. Depends on how quickly he recovers - Darth, not the doctor.

So, to keep myself distracted, the laundry is almost done. That's a good thing.

THE GRINCH STOLE MY CHRISTMAS! LOL

Really do hope everyone has had a nice evening. I mean that.

grannyblt said...

Boo to that nasty Grinch. Hope Darth, and you Judie are now resting comfortably.

WVJerry said...

Merry Christmas to all here. Not much going to happen here today. Judie Hope things are OK.

Oh no, JUDIE, that Grinch bit you n' Darth with a vengeance. Like LYNNE1, I hope you're both resting comfortably at this moment. Most eager to hear from you!

Suzan sorry the Grinch had a go at you, too. Hope you're able to have a good holiday and wishing for improved health in the New Year.

JERRY, I trust your wife is stable as you didn't mention her in your brief pop in. Prayers continue.

Last night was a gorgeous and unseasonably warm full moon delight. I had a great time at Julie's for the German supper and gift exchange. Penny and I will go back this afternoon for dinner, games, walks.....

Wishing all the best possible day and praying for those in need.

Merry Christmas Morning to All ♥

Judie I pray Darth will have or had successful surgery and that the pain wasn't too great. Worst excuse ever to do laundry - waiting to hear things are well.

Youngest son and family came to visit and bring his dad some DD coffee that was perked at their house.......DD is closed today!

Low keyed day for sure.......... God Bless All Of You!

Judie said...

Good early Christmas Day afternoon.

Reading the posts, it seems a very nice day is being enjoyed.

Suzan, do hope you are feeling even better than you were at 10 a.m.

Thank you for your well-wishes. This morning's update: One of the doctors called ~ 2:30 a.m. to say surgery was over and Darth was in recovery. Problem was a little bit more complicated than anticipated but the actual surgeon was very familiar with what was going on inside. So, a snippet here, and sewing together there, a couple of staples later, and Darth should be good to go home probably Saturday. Darth called me this morning and sounded good but still a bit groggy/sleepy.

I will heat the food for the police, deliver it at 4 p.m., and then go on to the hospital.

The boys received a Christmas package from their foster mom and dad. Little flannel fortune cookie shaped toys she made and filled with catnip along with a package of grain-free treats. Such nice people.

Okay, I am a little tired this afternoon so putting my feet up. Be back sometime tonight.

Happy Christmas♥

Sandi said...

Good afternoon my eagle friends. Finally getting a quick minute to read through the blog and wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Judie, if Frank had a hernia over a fender bender and the cost of a new starter motor, he would surely have a coronary over buying a new vehicle!!! Seriously though, I am sorry to hear about the timing of this surgery. Hospital stays are never fun but are especially dreary at this time of the year. I hope Darth is able to come home soon and his recovery is smooth and relatively pain free.

I hope everyone else is having a blessed day with family and friends.

I will try to check in tonight from the hotel. BTW it's still raining here and about 70 degrees. What a mess for walking dogs!!

Merry Christmas, everyone! God bless all of you! Have been very busy this week.
Haven't had any time to catch up here. Hope everyone else is fine, and enjoying the day of Jesus' birth! Ken & I are going to our nephew Sean's for dinner today. Sis-in-law and Bro-in-law will be there. Sean's significant other Sara, and his 2 kids, Ian and Chloe, will be there, too. Sean's doing rib eye steaks on the barby!

Gotta run-- have to make a quadruple batch of creamed corn to take to dinner with us. Did talk to the kids this morning. Jen has had a wonderful Birthday, and everyone loves their gifts. Thank God, all the clothes we sent to them fit well; no exchanges needed. A Christmas miracle! Will get back here later tonight, probably, and try to get caught up with what's going on. Prayers and all the best to everyone! I ♥ us!! (Emma says, "Woof, woof!")

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Judie how AWFUL for Darth and you...hope he's feeling good this evening and can come home tomorrow.

Suz, good grief, hope YOU are feeling better post haste!

Sandi, watching the news...do you have an ark for the dogs? Please be careful, that flooding looks awful in town.

Janet...OMG how awful about the boy. SO very sad.

Uh, don't let Lolly fool you...I just saw a picture on FB where the caption read "everyone is cooking BUT me". LOL!!! You are too funny and quite the Whirling Dervish!

Kay, we saw that beautiful moon last night through the mist and clouds!

Hi Andy and LOOOOweeeDA nice to see you gals check in!

SO, I believe its "Dressing" in the south and "Stuffing" in the north. Either way, I love it....well, til we moved here and I was subjected to stuffing with oysters, of all things... Years ago the powers that be started recommending that no one ever cook stuffing/dressing in the bird any more because of the potential for whatever food poisoning. Blah blah blah.

Praying that Rhonda and Becky are both doing well with their respective healths. That's not a word, is it?

Jo, thanks for letting us know that Glo's great pet sitter is on the ball!

ARIC is graduating college in MAY??? How can that be??

Lynne, how wonderful of you to spend part of your Christmas with the neighbor! How is the other lady doing?

We are having a quiet day here having "Christmased" with the folks last weekend. Going to watch Christmas Story tonight. Have any of you seen that movie? It's a hoot! Reading the book, too.

good evening to all.

JUDIE: so sorry about the timing of Darth’s surgery. I too am a stress cleaner. Glad all is well and that the recovery is beginning. Get some rest!
The only update I have on the boy who was shot was that it happened about 12:30 yesterday afternoon and it was supposedly drug related. Tom said he would have never that that boy nor that particular family……but I guess one never truly knows….
Its been a good day. Everyone received things that they appreciated/needed. We enjoyed a lovely meal over at Chelsea’s. now we are home and it is quiet. I am very glad! I loved watching the grandkids playing, but man oh man does it ever get loud there!!!
The weather has been drippy and wet. We had quite a bit of rain over night an dinto the morning. I had to run out and jiggle the pool pump to get some of the water off of the pool cover. Its like walking on a sponge out there!
Gonna go grab a shower. I volunteered to work 9 to 3 tomorrow. Hope everyone has had a lovely day….those who are not well are recovering….and that all know how much they are loved. Good night to all!

Good evening to all and to all a good evening.

Seems everyone has had a really nice Christmas Day as I skimmed the most recent posts.

Darth is doing well. Some post-op issues that are normal and to be expected. He still thinks he will be allowed to escape tomorrow. Must say, the nurses and staff are very attentive and very friendly. I am home. Hope to get some sleep. Again, thank you all for your good wishes for Darth.

Wishing everyone a night of restful sleep filled with visions of a happy holiday enjoyed with family and friends.

Time for bed and need to do a little house straightening!

One last......Merry Christmas!

Been reading back a bit. How nice of J and J's foster parents to send gifts, Judie.

I need to check the nest. It seems there is plenty of activity there.

I am supposed to bowl at 11 today, but Rus is still sleeping on the sofa. I would like to invite him to come with me, but I am not sure I can get him awake enough to have a conversation. Our Christmas celebration was not that wild. Really.

Kathryn had to work today, so she took Hunter with her. It's just Shirley and Rus here on the home front.

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

Happy Boxing Day to HODA!!!

JUDIE, I do so hope Darth can "escape" today---your brand of TLC will be ever so much better than any a hospital can serve up. J&J will add another healing element!

SHIRLEY, I hope Rus rallied and that you're both on the way to the Alley now.

LOLLY, have a great day with the added dimension of Michael and Zach--it's kinda fun to spread Christmas out over several days, isn't it?

Thanks for the nest report of this morning, gals! Sorry I tuned in about an hour too late. MT nest now.

Penny and I are lazing about today and expect Seth to arrive in time for Fish n' Chips this evening.

One celebration down and now on to bringing in the New Year. I love reading about the various ways y'all handle the holidays.

Prayers for all in need, for we know those needs do not take a holiday!!!

Good morning.

So, the royal couple graced the Sycamore Palace this morning and enjoying breakfast. Increasing signs that eaglet season is soon upon us.

Shirley, hope you (and Rus) are enjoying a game or two at the bowling alley.

Kay, so happy you and Penny and Seth will enjoy some time together today.

Lolly, enjoy having all the family with you today.

Darth has been told that the nurses find him so adorable that the doctors decided he will be held captive again today. Maybe home tomorrow. So, I will go out and take care of some J&J business (buying grain-free food) then roast the chicken I brined for Christmas dinner (hope it's still okay). This will be a late Christmas --- hmmmm, wonder if it should become New Year's dinner? Or, maybe split the difference and have Christmas dinner on Wednesday. lol

May have missed a post from Jo so hope she and The Family Lennox are doing well.

Have a greyt day.

On the road headed home. One of the bells and whistles on this garages on wheels is in-vehicle wifi! Too bad it doesn't have a bathroom and a microwave - we could live in it, which would make sense since it cost more than the first house we bought!

Will check in again from home - hope everyone is having a greyt day!

Good early evening to all ♥

Another quiet day at our home - very enjoyable & relaxing.

Judie - another visit today to hospital to see Frank - hope they are feeding him well. It's a relief that they didn't send him home before he was really ready...or else he may have had to go back in for some reason. I'm sure you and J & J will do just fine since you don't need to worry about his recovery.

Tomorrow is a Jenny day during the morning. I could have some more company tomorrow but have not yet gotten a call.

Safe journey Sandi and crew. Will Brian and Lynnis be back in WV for a while?

Lolly has a house full of rambunctious boys - good cousin time get together!

Getting ready for some dinner - Everyone take care and keep that Christmas spirit going all the days of the new year.. ♥

stronghunter said...

Good evening,

Wow, Sandi, in-vehicle wifi. I do remember seeing the advertisements for that, but I haven't gotten to experience it.

I hope that Darth will be home tomorrow, Judie. But one thing I have learned--hospitals do not tend to keep you longer than necessary.

Rus and I bowled with the usual Saturday group, except for Julie, who is in the Poconos. Then Rus and I had lunch at Virginia Barbecue. It's owned by some former neighbors. They serve both Virginia and North Carolina-style barbecue, and I had the North Carolina style. Yummy. I'd not had NC barbecue for a long time.

No basement here! Texas houses built on slabs. We are monitoring the weather. Michael and Zach are here and Michael was talking on the phone with friends as all the bad stuff was in Dallas. We will be keeping an eye on the weather. It is strange as we turned on the AC today and they are having a blizzard in West Texas.

We are safe, will be back tomorrow when everyone heads home!

Lynne2 said...

glad all is well Lolly. And it looks like your winter weather returns tomorrow with gusto!

Lolly said...

Yes, reports just coming in. It is bad! Several deaths confirmed and they are just finding out how bad it is. It was a huge tornado and on the ground for a while. 5 deaths were in cars, in the rain and dark and never knew what hit them! And, there were several tornadoes. So far not much rain here but several inches predicted. Next few days will be interesting. AC is now off and presently 49.

Boys finally in bed, all bedded down in the living/dining room. Joseph and Zach on air mattresses. Jacob got the sofa bed. This is a first. And, they went right to sleep!

Night all! We are fine, this was all just east of us. Prayers for those affected!

Goodorming my eagle friends. We had MORE rain last night and this morning it is still gray and dreary but almost 60 degrees. And there is more rain in the forecast for tomorrow night into Tuesday. YUK!

Lolly, I'm glad to hear that all of the Ellises are safe and sound in Texas. It sounds (and looks from the FB photos) like the boys are having a wonderful time together. Are you able to keep up with the amount of food three growing boys are consuming??

Brian, Lynnis, and Freyja head home today - not sure what time their flight is. It has been a whirlwind 9 days for them - they will probably be happy to get home and back into a normal routine with Freyja. Lynnis has a possible part time job working at the US Embassy - she is really ready to return to the work world.

Judy, did you work yesterday? I bet Walmart was a madhouse the day after Christmas!

Judie, how's Darth doing? Coming home today I hope!

Prayers for all of the needs on this blog. Have a greyt day.

Judie said...

Good morning.

Lolly, very happy to know you and family are safe and Christmas was joyous, especially for the boys. By-the-way, how did the dogs and Skippi get along?

Sandi, Freyja is just too cute. I love her ruby red shoes. May they have safe travels and may you and Denny enjoy the wonderful memories.

Shirley, glad you and Rus had some bowling time together and that you had a play-date friend to watch Disney Channel with you. How have Allie and Cheeto managed with all the activity?

Lynne2, how are the race horses? Did they get a special holiday meal?

Jo, hope Jenny visits today and you two have a good time.

Darth will probably not be coming home today. Seems there is some complication that needs to be taken care of before he can be released. Doctors are supposed to visit this morning for evaluation. However, in typical Darth style, he has managed to sweet-talk his way into using the computer in his room (you know, the one for doctors and nurses), so he now sends emails to me.

Rainy, gloomy weather. Nest was MT. Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Is it my imagination or are there a great deal of robins around. I don't recall seeing robins much after Thanksgiving. I always see several when taking Bella out. Take care all. Judie asked how the kitties did with all of the activities here for Christmas. Well, Allie got completely drunk on catnip and fell sound asleep. I think it was Stephanie who put lots of catnip on the new scratching thingy they got for her. She embrace the scratching thingy. She lay on it. She inhaled as much catnip as she could. Then, she got into a kitty bed and slept it off.

Gotta say.....Jack and I are now enjoying the peace and quiet! Laurel and boys departed late morning in the rain and are safe and sound at home. Michael and Zach left about an hour ago. Walls are still standing from the boys rough housing! Nothing major broken. Yes, Zach loves being here with his only cousins and wrestling with them. Joseph and Jack were the breakfast chefs. Joseph mixed and cooked pancakes and Jack took care of the bacon.

We put up a gate to keep the dogs out of the hall and our bedroom so Skippi has a safe place. We put another gate on the utility room so the dogs stay our of the kitty food as well as the cat box. Skippi and Luke do fine. Luke ignores the cat and Skippi has even shown interest in playing with Luke. Skippi is terrified of Cosm0 who is huge. Cosmo if given the chance wants to chase Skippi but just wants to play. If Skippi would not run, Cosmo would not be interested! About the second day they are here Skippi shows signs of tolerating Cosmo. She gets more adventurous advancing out of her safe areas. Lol. The second they left she knew they were gone and was curling up around our necks and purring.

We are up to two inches of rain and hear more thunder! Water was flowing over our street once again! Temp is now 40. The AC is off! Lol

Still learning more about the tornado damage! It is so very sad! All friends and family in that area are okay. Michael was still checking on friends.

Yes, our house is on a slab. We go into an interior closet if necessary. Laurel's family goes into a pantry that is an interior room with no windows. Best we can do! Some homes have underground tornado shelters but not many!

Have been texting with Hoda. She was worried about it he tornados and then the blizzard. Had to remind her how big Texas is! Tornados to the east, blizzard to the west! We are just flooding! Only kidding , we are fine. However, when the last cell went through a lot of people very close had a lot of hail.

Rus's Interview

Rus has been flying remote-controlled airplanes (also known as drones) for some time. He has had quite a bit of pilot training, so he is very aware of that aspect of things. He goes by his real name, Cyrus, outside of family and childhood friends.

stronghunter said...

Rus had that little thing flying around my house at Christmas. It scared the heck out of Cheeto, but Allie chased it.

stronghunter said...

Can't you turn off that buzzer on the dryer, Lolly? I have to say, though, that even though mine has a buzzer, I do not hear it if I want to sleep. I do not dry any clothes that need to be removed that quickly. If something needs a few more turns in the dryer, I will just put it back in with a damp towel.

SANDI, I know how thrilling it was to see adorable little Freyja and her parents and I also how it hurts to see them head back to Mexico City. Thank goodness for Skype!

LOLLY, big relief to know your family was spared from the heartache surrounding the devastating tornado activity. I have friends and relatives all over that part of TX and am holding my breathe as I wait for word! Sounds like your Christmas was perfect, but it's now good to put your feed up between laundry loads! Glad HODA has been in touch and wish she'd come back here and give us another chance to enjoy her company.

JERRY, thanks for the update on your wife. You are a busy guy and I can understand your not feeling like fooling with Christmas decorations. Here's hoping 2016 will bring improved health so that next Christmas will present you with a far better picture!

SHIRLEY, love the catnip capers and the resulting coma for Allie! Nice that you had some sweet company while the big girls partied! So Rus is a drone expert. I wish I could see that report. I wonder if it will show up on YouTube.

I think I've caught up with youse guys. Enjoyed all the eagle sighting reportage`.

Happy anniversary to Lynne and Steve!

Kay mentioned prayers for Tori - Jo, have you heard any FB updates about how she's doing? It sounds like Glo's Becky is recovering fine from her surgery.

Jo, does your chemo start again today? Sending prayers and positive energy your way as you begin this next round of treatment.

Lolly, good to hear the walls in the Ellis house are still standing - from the boys and Cosmo and from the tornadoes.

Brian emailed from Mexico last night to say they made it home safely. He said as they unpacked their one big suitcase that had Freyja's new toys in it, she was so excited to see them all again as they put them away on her toy shelves. We will be shipping her grocery cart to her this week.

Taking Janey to meet the vet today. Apparently greyhounds are very different from any other dog with regard to red and white blood cell counts, platelets, heart rate and, according to "greyhound enthusiasts," it's important they be seen by a vet who knows their idiosyncrasies. I figured that, if I'm going to interview my vet about his greyhound knowledge, I owe it to him to pay him an office visit fee for his time.

Have a greyt day all.

good morning to all.
my lazy day yesterday was not happening. tom suggested we take down the decorations as this week will be busy and we are both home. janet said, okay, but iwas wanting a lazy day.

yeah, well, you know once the tree was down, janet started to clean.....then said, let's take the outside stuff down too since the weather is nice and tomorrow will be wet, then supposedly colder......so while tom and livvy did that, I filled bird feeders and pulled weeds from the flower bed.

then of course, I could think of a thousand other things to be done....and did many of them....grilled some chicken outside....and then at the dinner table we decided to go to the movies and see Star Wars. I like the movie, but I am not a super fan. this one however, reminded me in so many ways of the one that came out when I was a kid and I did like it a lot.

bedtime was midnight. so I slept in. we have our usual Monday stuff today, orthodontist and allergy. but thankfully appointments are int he afternoon.

it is raining. I see the front is moving our way. i'm ready for some cooler weather!

Hi Judie,

No release date for Frank yet? I am sure they are taking good care of him. You are certainly in the right place for good hospitals.

I think I will settle in for a nap. Hunter is happily playing Xbox. It is getting colder outdoors, and a few raindrops were falling while I was out, but I did manage to pick up a few things at the grocery store. We are now well-supplied with food, laundry detergent, and dishwasher detergent.

Cheeto came to tell me that Hunter did not give him any breakfast this morning. It is hard to ignore a cat that is lying on a pillow next to you and brushing his tail across your face, so I took care of the breakfast. At least, Cheeto has not resorted to George's old trick of poking a cold nose in my face.

Mema Jo said...

I had a whooper of a nap once I got home and have just now finished dinner. Everything went well with the treatment. I go back again tomorrow and Wednesday.

Shirley - Just watched on FB the link for Rus' interview. It was great. Was the interview done at your home?

This morning no one was on the phone from there so I called back and they said Sorry - we didn't want to bother you! But they did because I had to know the real reason they were calling. I do love the staff at the center - they are the best.
Love seeing the same familiar faces all year long. Says a lot for their services.

I'll be back this afternoon. Everyone take care and have a good day. Judie don't let Frank overdo it.

Picture should now be on my blog. The rainbow is very small and blurry, but the nest is lovely. I also posted a picture of Susan when she was dressed up for a Christmas party earlier . . . the theme was "vintage." I think she captured it nicely.

I usually put appointments in my phone, but I do not recall making this one.

***Shirley, your daughter Susan is very beautiful. Reminded me of how Delphia gets dressed at times.

stronghunter said...

I guess they figure the doctors figure they need to call people with reminders when they charge $50 for no-shows.

Thank you, Jo. When she is not in her fancy duds, Susan is likely to be out climbing mountains and getting bruises and scratches.

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

SHIRLEY, thanks to JUDY I was able to watch Rus in action. He is a good spokesperson for that hobby! And, yes, Susan certainly captured "vintage" in a beautiful way! Have you ever been charged for being a no show at a doctor's office. I had this discussion with my neurosurgeon during the nasty winter following my back surgery. She said that is an unethical practice and she's not aware of any colleagues here who are doing that. The conversation came up over a handicap parking placard as I said I needed one due to the snowy/icy conditions. She said, "no", I don't want you even getting out if the weather is bad and I mentioned not being able to afford fees for being a no show. Perhaps there is some fine line over whether or not one gives them some notice or is a no call/no show?????

JUDIE, so happy to know Darth is back on home territory and with a good appetite for those holiday fixins' at last! I hope his is a smooth and flawless recovery!

Seth just arrived for our work day, so must scoot....

Prayers for JO on this second day of chemo and for all in need!!!

Most of my doctors do have that policy, Kay. However, they do usually waive it. I am sure they want to keep their patients/clients happy.

stronghunter said...

They usually say there needs to be a 24-hour or 48-hour notice if you cannot come. I expect they can be negotiated with. And bad weather is a reason to waive the rule, I am sure. These days, you have to sign so many papers, and I am sure I have signed an agreement to pay if I am a no-show. However, they would have to be careful not to make all of their clients unhappy.

Thanks, Kay. Rus has been quite involved in that hobby for some time. He sees a future for radio-controlled aircraft in the business world and would like to be involved in that, but he also would be the first to say that there are plenty of irresponsible people out there who do not need to be flying these things.

HEY REMEMBER the issues I had again I should say with this last not having a JOB sort of had to fight and they made it a job for me because of my limitation of lifting over 20 lbs

well now they want me to train someone for a job that was made up for me does this make any sense to you not to me

on the day before I was told I couldn't keep doing what I have been doing I was told that I could take maintenance job or another and that they wouldn't make a exception because if they did for me well then everyone would want to do what they wanted So then that is when I posted something on FB about it and the next day they told me I could continue to do what I am doing

But now I have to train someone How rude Just had to get it out in black and white since I can't complain at work about it

Home. Medications obtained. Food obtained. Medications delivered to Darth. J&J fed. Now, to change my presentable clothes for scullery clothes.

Jo, Jufie loves to be with you. He really is quite smitten. Hope all went well today.

Belle and Shep were in the nest when I looked. Then one poofed.

Shirley, glad you got the eye appointment confirmed. As for a no-show fee, I think that should apply only if the same individual misses more than one or two consecutive appointments. Picture of Susan is mahvelous. She really is a very lovely lady.

Okay, off to my next assignment.

The treatment today went well. My Dr said to expect fatigue and nausea later. Not looking forward to that and I'll fight it! I always nap when I come home.
Back again tomorrow and then off for 2 weeks.
Got to see our Royal Couple this evening. They are beautiful.

Shirley I sent you on FB an article about a HAWK bringing down a Drone.

I ate some dinner - mainly I like Yoplait but it doesn't fill you - I may need to eat another Buckeye!

I will close for now -= thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Love you all !

Do you think tomorrow will mean a new fresh thread??????????????????

evening all!

Jo, can't they give you something for the nausea? Hang in there!

Maybe Steve is away for the Holidays...

So glad Darth is finally back home!

Good evening! Well, today I had my mammogram. More fun! Actually not bad. It is close to home, maybe 10 minutes away and always the same girl and she is so nice!

Laurel had returned one shirt that was too small for Jacob and I was able to find the same shirt one size larger. Also, picked up gift wrap on sale. So much for my exciting day!

Jo, do hope this round of chemo does not make you nauseated! Let's pray that away Momsters!

Nothing on the agenda for the rest of the week. Guess I still have the teacher Christmas vacation attitude! Do nothing.....it is a holiday until
Next week!

Judie, so glad Darth is home and doing well. I remember posting last night but I think I must not have hit publish and then lost the post. Old age!😱
