Good morning.

Thank you Steve for this first day of September fresh thread. Can cooler weather be far behind?

CarolAnne, sincerely happy you feel comforted by the lovely remembrances of your mom's life.

Beautiful morning here. Nothing special on my agenda.

Oh my, I've lost track. Is today Sandi's first day back to the little red school house? I think so. Wishing her a wonderful day, regardless.

Thinking of Jo.

Saw a jackal at Pete's Pond this morning. Our nest is taking a sunshine bath.

Wishing everyone the very best day possible.

Doing a Margy --

Reading back, I see Shirley was having an ocular migraine. Hope she is awake and migraine-free this morning.

What happened to Sandi? She deleted herself!

THANKS FOR THE NEW THREAD STEVE

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

Thank you, STEVE---we love new threads---both kinds! A new day, a new month, a new thread, renewed hope for Momster happiness and peace and good will at Sycamore Palace.

And, thanks to JUDIE for the call over! Congrats on the feather in your cap! Nothing special on your agenda today so just happily strut around with that gorgeous headdress on your head! We'll call this The Day of the Jackal in honor of your sighting at Pete's Pond.

SANDI, how very cryptic of you, <3, eh? Wonder what the message you deleted was, or is that part of the clue? We Nancy Drew type girls have some work to do. Can't wait to hear how the NEW DAY went for you!

CAROLANNE, the celebration of your Mom's life would have pleased her much--maybe she was allowed a peek or two. Thinking of you and the family with love.

SHIRLEY, hope a good night's sleep cleared your head n' eyes! You've had a lot of stress in the last few days and I'm thinking of you with love, too.

JO, another ice cream day for you and I hope it goes as well as the former two. Only two more CyberKnife's to go after today. Yeah!

Prayers for all in need!!!

Good morning to all ♥

I am bringing over from the previous thread CarolAnne's remarks so all of you coming in can read:

CarolAnne said...
Evening everyone
Had Mom's memorial service today. She had been cremated as she didn't want people looking at her once she was dead. :o)
Had never attended that type of service before. It turned out so well and was truly a celebration of her life, not a death ceremony. The Deacon who performed the service began by saying when he met with us the meeting that generally lasts 30 minutes or so ran to over an hour as there was so much to tell about her life. And in his service he nailed it. He had really listened to us and spoke like he really knew her. Everyone was so very pleased with the ceremony. We are at peace with her passing.
****
Wishing everyone a wonderful autumn as we start the "ber" (or Brr) months.

It is Sept 1 and my dogwood leaves are already falling. It is still up in the 90° figures - too hot for comfort I would say. We have a family reunion coming up on Saturday and temps should be in the 80° with clouds BUT HUMID... Not sure how long I
will be able to stay.

Thanks Judie for your call over to this thread to the others - Not sure if Sandy's
<3 counts for a feather - That is the symbol on FB for a heart! I say she gets the feather for today.

Sandy I hope your meetings go well and are interesting!

Shirley I hope the color show has gone away - they sure are pretty colors but very
annoying. Here's hoping that Alli kept you company.

I'll be back later today - Need to get myself presentable! ♥

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

The color show ended last night, and Allie snuggled with me with plenty of purring. The doctor did say that stress is a factor in these things.

I had a great conversation with my cousin Mary Lu yesterday afternoon. She just started with Facebook and looked for me. I was able to put her together with our other cousin Virginia. It has been a shame that we got out of touch for so long.

stronghunter said...

Oh my, the grass is really growing in our nest. Wonder whatever happened to the ducky?

Yikes, lots on FB about a bank robbery and shoot-out in Bluefield.

stronghunter said...

Need to check out some websites Mary Lu told me about.

grannyblt said...

Good afternoon on this new thread. I'm off to grocery, BBL.

Judie said...

Good early afternoon.

Shirley, so glad you are better and Allie is your new bff. Perhaps ducky's feathers are blowin' in the wind?

Sandi absolutely gets the morning feather. Something to play with while she sits through those boring meetings.

Jo, have a good afternoon.

Happy shopping Lynne1. What's on the menu?

Sandi said...

Hi all. Morning meetings weren't too bad. Since I got back to my building I have just been helping already stressed-out teachers. I am not stressed at all - actually, I can't stop smiling!

Sorry about the double post - I was just signing on to the new thread to have comments emailed to me and must have hit Publish twice.

grannyblt said...

Judie, my grocery trip was supposed to be a bread, eggs, milk run, but I still spent more than I would have for a whole month back in the day. Dinner will be a repeat of the last two nights, a Pasta Fagioli recipe I got from Facebook . It was supposed to taste just like they make at Olive Garden. It was good enough, but nothing to brag about. I cook for one, left overs are the norm.

Janet said...

THANK YOU STEVE for the new thread and congrats to JUDIE for the feather in her cap!

Oh my stars what a busy busy day!

8 a.m. grocery getting. Home by 10:30.
Hurry hurry hurry, put stuff away. Start beef stroganoff for dinner; put it in crockpot. Leave by 11:30 to go have lunch with Chelsea. We had a nice visit. Going to try to do that 1x a month. Just mom and daughter time!

Home home home again! Arrived 1;35….clean clean clean. Rearrange stuff Olivia put in the pantry because she has no sense of where to put stuff.
Now, watching the 4 p.m. news. Feed the furbutts @ 4:30 and at 5 head out to tutoring.
It is cloudy, hot and humid today. Was kind of glad so that I got this inside stuff done.
Have a good evening!

Sandi said...

Today was the best first teacher day EVER! :)

Lolly said...

Yea, for you, Sandi! That is awesome!

Did a little shopping today for a lamp shade. A floor lamp was pushed into a shelf and cracked the lining. Buying a lampshade the right color, size shape with correct metal workings is totally impossible. Not too happy with the one I bought.

Kite is still occasionally in his tree. When he is not there I miss him.

Still hot here too, Jo. Here is is 5:15 and it is 97 and we need rain so desperately!

Today Dennis took Jenni back to the vet for another blood test after being on the liver supplement for 30 days. In early August, the liver enzyme level the vet was concerned about was in the 240s - normal is anywhere up to 125. Today, the level of that enzyme in her blood was down to 145 so she is headed in the right direction!!! She will have to permanently stay on the liver supplement once a day but the medication is not very expensive. This is great news and we are very relieved!

Goodnight all - see you in the early AM!

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Sorry that I did not make it back to say good night last night.

I remember saying that I didn't know when Hunter's Back-to-School open house was to take place. Well, neither did Kathryn. She came home early last night, and she and Hunter went over to the school to find the doors locked. The event is tonight. She is planning to come home early again. :)

Hope you have a grand repeat of yesterday, Jo.

stronghunter said...

Take care in all of that rain, Judy.

Yay, Sandi, very happy that Jenni is doing better.

Nice that the school year is starting off well, Janet. I would have been hiring a math tutor, too. That is for sure. My mother was a math teacher, but my math brain has never been as good as hers was, and, at this point, I have forgotten a lot of the math I once knew.

stronghunter said...

Too bad you could not save some of the excess rain that came this spring, Lolly.

I do hope you keep smiling, Sandi. :)

CarolAnne, thank you for telling us about your mother's celebration of life event. I think those celebrations can be very comforting, and I am happy to learn that your mother's celebration comforted you.

stronghunter said...

Grannybit, I know what you mean about going to the grocery store and spending way more than planned. Hope you do enjoy those leftovers.

Janet said...

STRONGHUNTER: the math tutor (JODI) is excellent. she has a quiet, calm way that I knew would work with Olivia. so pleased she said she would do this.

yes mom was good at math...my oldest...that was her college degree and that's her job skill set -- accounting and the like -- as well as multitasking like most women. but me, eh? not so much.

getting ready to water the plants and head to work in a bit.

hope everyone has alovely day!

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

SANDI, so glad Jenni's well on the road to good health again and that the med she must take forever is not expensive! S'wonderful that you have that big smile on your face and, much like SHIRLEY, I hope it stays in place for the entire school year!

LYNNE1, I can relate to the growth of a shopping list once you're in the store. The smartest thing grosserie stores ever did was adding pharmacy depts.! I may go to Kroger for Rx's, but cannot leave without hitting other areas of the store. Only once in a blue moon do I enter, go directly to the pharmacy and right back out the front door.

JANET, math tutoring sounds like a good move! There is no way any one of us can have mastery over all subjects a high school student must take. Olivia's year is off to a good start--yeah!

SHIRLEY, I love hearing stories like that of Kathryn's little open house gaff! When the young gals do such things I realize that some of my gaffs are not due to old age and are not worth worrying about!

Twas' a good doggy play day here. Julie n' Hugh arrived to retrieve Malcolm just after six. They brought in some yummy "Noodle's" fare for our dinner. Hugh finished re-outfitting my large living room coat closet and solved the mystery of why my answering machine has not worked since the AT&T guy installed U-verse. What would I do without such a fine SIL? Julie carted away stacks of board games that are never played here and will add a new ingredient to the game nights they host about once a month.

Penny and I have a "free" day today and will have another doggy play day tomorrow--and every Tuesday and Thursday for this semester.

JO, happiness is hearing your day went well, hope the same can be said after today's procedure!!!

JUDY, what's up in Kissimee? Another eagle nest?

Prayers for JO and everyone else who is in need!!!

Even though we are not doing home schooling, we got a math tutor for Hunter, too. Turns out she is very good at other subjects as well, so now she is helping him with English. He listens to her. I think it helps for him to have such a positive relationship with a teacher.

Sandi said...

Forgot to check in this morning. Sorry. I am alive & well, sitting in a boring meeting.

Good late morning.

All sorts of good news here.

Shopping, meds, school open house, a big smile, a healthy pup, an ice cream cone and all manner of other nice events.

Thinking of Jo.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good late morning to all ♥
Got a call earlier and they need to reschedule my appointment due to some maintenance being done on the cyberknife. This means I have a free day! My 5 treatments do Not need to be consecutive. So I need 2 more whenever equipment is repaired.

I saw Mr Red this morning - My bluejays and cardinals are very scarce. Perhaps some of them are migrating.

Panda cam is down - I miss seeing BaoBao and her tricks! The little Prince is getting some of his dark hair - on his Ears for now.

Our cam is still being worked on - the new cam has not yet been installed. It certainly is a beautiful HD picture we're getting.

Lolly said...

Good morning!

Jo, enjoy your free day!😄

Happy numbers are good for Jenni, Sandi!

Saw on Facebook a cloth sack cat carrier. Maybe that would work for Skippi. I just wrap her in a towel and she is happy. Wonder if that works like a thunder shirt for dogs?

Have our own built in math tutor living with me. Marrying an engineer is the thing to do. Once when Jack was on a business trip he was doing long distance phone tutoring with Laurel. Also, when Michael was in HS his friends were coming here with homework and tutoring.
My math is nonexistent! Lol. Opposites attract!

Zach story!!! His teacher sent this story to his parents. She was explaining to the class she would soon be having jury duty and would be out a day or more. She thought she had it explained very well when Zach raised his hand and thus "made her day" when he asked if she was the person who had done wrong, made a bad choice, and what had she done? Lol. This is what you get when you have a young son of two attorneys.

Mema Jo said...

That was a good story on Zach

I see that tonight I can watch on TV Ghost Whispers - yippee

I went shopping and got some shirts at good sale prices.

I'll try to get back later
BUT IF NOT..... Goodnight to all ♥

Hi, Everyone,

Getting here pretty late, but better late than never, I guess. Have been gimping around today, after doing something to my iffy left knee. It has arthritis and a bone spur, the doctors tell me. I tend to think it's not a bone spur, but a bone chip. All of a sudden it starts hurting like crazy, after weeks and weeks of no pain at all! Just doesn't make sense. I think a bone chip suddenly gets out of place and makes it hurt. Have been taking X/S Tylenol all day, and it's feeling somewhat better tonight.
Able to get around without looking too much like the walking wounded.

CarolAnne, your Mom's memorial service sounds like it was just lovely. I hope it was a comfort to you and your family.

Shirley, I'm glad little Allie took good care of you while you had a migraine. I suspect that she thought you were taking care of her, too.

Lolly, I'm glad you found a good lampshade. I have two that I really need to replace.
I may have to take the lamps with me in case I can't find ones exactly like the old shades. Might have to "try on" whatever I do find to see how they look.

It's going to be a busy day tomorrow. Ken goes to his "Post-Op" doctor's appointment with the cardiac nurse who will be monitoring his pacemaker for him. They will remove the dressing over the surgery site, and fine-tune his pacemaker. All the signs of redness are completely gone from his chest for several days, but the cellulitis on his hand has not changed in appearance at all. He had called the doctor he saw for it requesting a referral to a Dermatologist, and Kaiser called to make an appointment for him--soonest was Sept. 24th! Ken went online and complained (made a formal complaint), and a few hours later Kaiser called back and had an appointment for him this coming Monday! Guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease after all! Will be interested to hear what the specialist has to say. He's taken full courses of 2 different antibiotics and has continuously used a cortisone cream and a prescription antibiotic cream on his hand, to no effect. Full report to follow!

Prayers continue for those in need.

Well, better get to bed. Will be hitting the road running tomorrow. Sleep well, everyone. God bless, and goodnight. I ♥ us!

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends.

Yesterday's meetings were boring but necessary - start of the year stuff. Today will be more of the same plus I will find out which grade level(s) and team(s) I'll be working with. Periodontist appointment after school.

Janet - algebra tutor - smart lady!

Jo, prayers continue.

Andy, I would be very concerned about Ken's hand. That doesn't sound good.

Lolly, did you pay almost as much for the lampshade as you originally did for the lamp? I have sometimes found that to be the case!

Judy, good luck at the dentist today! No fun!!

Have a great day everyone.

Judie said...

Good morning to everyone.

Andy, hope the checkup/tuneup goes smoothly for Kubby. Wondering if his cellulitis could be a toxic reaction to one of the drugs/combination of drugs he had for surgery. Just a thought. Regardless, hope all goes quickly and easily.

Sandi, enjoy the day at school and positive thoughts are going with you to the periodontist. Oh, what happened about the records you requested from the de-licensed dentist?

JudyE, wishing you an easy time at the dentist, also.

Going out to forage. Not anxious about the intense heat and humidity but...

Jo, hopefully you can bid Mr. Cyber Knife farewell today.

Shirley, how are you?

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

CarolAnne said...

Thanks everyone for your continued thoughts of my Mom. Here's something my daughter posted about her grandma:

Although I try to suppress my pack rat tendencies I'm so glad I held onto all the notes, letters, and cards my grandma sent to me over the years. After I moved I didn't get to see her as often but we kept up a steady stream of letters back and forth. Reading through them today I could hear her voice and was so touched by the love in her words. I will hold these letters close to my heart and bring them out when I need to hear her again.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

I am about to get ready for bowling practice. We're practicing today instead of Saturday this week.

I know what you mean about your grandmother's letters, CA. I guess letter-writing with pen and paper is a dying art, but seeing someone's handwritten letters does mean a lot, at least to those of us who grew up before email, FB and all of that stuff.

Last night, as I was getting ready to come upstairs, I asked Luna where the kitty was. Allie gave a little meow and came running. She leaped up on the back of the recliner right next to me and purred as I carried her upstairs. Once we were upstairs, I put her down and went to brush my teeth. When I came back into the bedroom, I found her curled in a ball on my bed. I think we have a routine.

I am just delightful, Judie. Getting a little nervous about taking care of things for my trip to France, though.

Andy, I do hope the new doctor helps you find a quick and easy solution to Ken's problem with his hand. Maybe just a change in medication.

JudyEddy said...

Loved the Zach story, Lolly. That teacher just might have to do a lot of explaining about how the system works and exactly what jury duty is. Sounds like a teachable moment to me.

Hi Jo,
We have been hearing lots of thunder and I even smelled rain, but not a drop that I saw. We really do need a bit of rain.

BBL. Must go get ready for bowling. Tuesday league starts after Labor Day. I do believe that is next week. I am not sure about the Thursday league.

I was looking over some of the papers that Hunter and Kathryn brought home from school last night. There's a food court at his school. Interesting. It is a new building, built since Will and Susan graduated from high school at least.

I am about to check out some TV entertainment for the evening.

There was a squirrel in the nest this afternoon. I called him George and told him
not to plant his nuts in our nest. All we would need is an oak tree growing up there.

Sandi - MD teachers are saying they have testing on top of testing. Trying to get some of it stopped.

Lennox Reunion Saturday and looks as though it won't be 90° - I'm packing my little fans.

Everyone enjoy there evening and IF I DON't return

Hi all - it's my weekend! No school tomorrow!!

Jo, testing on top of testing is the name of the game in every state in the US! One of the main reasons I am getting out!! Glad your treatments are over. I think the weekend is supposed to be cooler and less humid after a hot & humid Friday.

Judie, according to the DE Medical Licensure Dept., a doctor is legally allowed to charge a patient to copy his/her records. They could do nothing, just like they did nothing to monitor a physician who was on probation - WORTHLESS bureaucrats!! I called the doctor's office and asked the young lady who answered to tell me how many pages were in my file and Denny's since they are allowed to charge by the page. I said I needed to know how many pages were in our files so I could add up what it would cost to get them before making a decision. She said she would get back to me - that was Monday and I have heard nothing. Don't really expect to and don't ever expect to get the records.

Periodontist appointment went well. The hygienist was very gentle and said just what the periodontist said a month ago - if I keep doing a good job at home, I shouldn't need any surgery. Works for me.

Today at school, paras had to sit through a full day training with the teachers on how to differentiate lesson plans, even though we don't write lesson plans. I took my iPad and spent the day with it in my lap reading an ebook and checking Facebook off and on!

We are on season 3 of House of Cards - will probably finish watching the last 11 episodes this weekend.

I'll see everyone in the early AM! Goodnight!

I'm BAAAAAACK

How is everyone? I'm trying to catch up.

Let me tell a story about how a little tiny stone, about one eight of and inch in diameter, landed me in excruciating pain and in the ER for 7 hours the other day.

I sat down to watch a show, picked up my coffee cup and before I could take a sip I started to feel very bad. VERY bad, never had anything hit me so fast. I got up and before I got halfway to the bathroom I was yelling for Steve, and we spent the next hour on the floor in the bathroom with me crying and moaning and unsure what was wrong and him trying to wipe the rivers of sweat off of me...and of course NOT wanting him to call an ambulance thinking each time the horrible pain subsided, that it would finally go away.

The pain was in the upper part of the left side of my abdomen and across my side to my back. Then it went down my back on that side. I called the Dr and she said I could come right now or go to the ER. Still thinking this would go away, I opted for the Dr, and couldn't even get off of the floor and on to the table. She told Steve that she was fairly sure it was a kidney stone but to get instant relief, I need to go to the ER for IV pain meds. So, off we went.

I barley remember the ride to the hospital. But I was given meds pretty quick...morphine is my friend! LOL! I also got something to smooth and open the urinary tract, and an anti nausea medicine. I had a CT scan that confirmed my stone in my left ureter right between my L4 L5 area of my spine...still a ways to go to the bladder.

But who cares! A couple of hours after the morphine they gave me some IV toradol. All pain was finally gone. Then I had an x-ray and bloodwork. Then it was mostly waiting for results. My kidney was swollen, but not too badly, my bloodwork was all normal except for the omnipresent high WBC count I always have. I was discharged with oxycodone, and the other two meds in pill form that they gave me IV. And a strainer to pee into in the hopes of getting the stone.

Two pharmacies later, no oxycodne. I was scared to death that the pain would start again before I could get some somewhere. But I never needed it. I never had any more pain! I went to a urologist the next morning for follow up and he was pretty confident that the stone had passed. I think so to. He wouldn't do another CT scan because of too much radiation and since the pain was gone. I did have an ultrasound and my swollen kidney was back to normal.

There is one good but very odd thing about all of this....I have had a terrible pain for a LONG time in my back in my left side that made it very difficult to be lying down and try to roll from left to right side without it being very painful. Usually I would just get up and lay back down rather than risk that pain.

But it is GONE. GONE!!! Not there, absent, GONE. I don't even know what to think! The only thing I can think of is that the stone has been there a long time and the kidney must have been swollen and tender all this time and now that it's gone, so is that particular pain!!

WOOOO HOOOOO!

Meanwhile, I am ever so grateful that I was HOME and not driving or in a store or something when it happened!

Good evening.

Got one eye on Miss Marple and the other on the computer screen.

Sandi, glad you were able to catch up on your reading today. lol Really very sorry about the record charges. Seems to me there might an argument to refuse to pay the charge since the guy was on probation. Oh well. Just happy the periodontist appointment went well.

Jo, I know you must be beyond happy to have all the appointments over with for a while and to have the family reunion to enjoy on Saturday. Had to laugh at the image of an oak tree having the audacity to try to take over the Sycamore Palace.

Hope Shirley had a good bowling practice session today. I think it is just so sweet that little Allie has adopted Shirley as her playmate and companion.

I am going to watch the end of Miss Marple. Then it will be time to dent the pillows.

CarolAnne, so glad the Deacon did such a good job on your mom's Celebration of Life service and that you are at peace.

Lolly, wrapping Skippi up in a towel would pretty much be the same as a Thundershirt. Good idea!

Glad you got your final fifth treatment Jo...and now your break for a few weeks! I'm sure you will make the most of that time!

Hello,

Allie is curled in a kitty ball at the foot of my bed this evening. I kept her from going to Kathryn's room in the wee hours this morning because I was pretty sure Kathryn had just managed to fall asleep. Allie was co-operative. She stayed with me until Kathryn was awake. Then Allie insisted on having breakfast. She flew down the stairs ahead of me and ran around meowing until I provided the required food.

Oh my goodness, Lynne2. I was worried about you throughout your description of your experience today, though I kept telling myself that Lynne is still alive and well enough to write about this. Thank goodness, the pain is gone. I do hope you have found the source of your prior aches and pains.

Happy the treatments are over, Jo.

Yes, I understand about the testing on top of testing. It cuts into instructional time. Some times I think that pretty soon they aren't going to have anything to test on because the teachers will not have time to teach the material.

Bowling practice was fun. I have two more free games, so I could go over on Saturday morning and do my own practice.

Hope you enjoyed your Miss Marple time, Judie.

I need to check out a few Scrabble games before I wind down for the night.

Hope everyone is doing well and that the lightning Hunter saw awhile ago means we'll have some rain tonight.

Maybe I can venture out and find a hummingbird feeder now. Maybe the bees have forgotten about that sugar water.

The trip to France is Sept. 18-26. I need to be getting things ready for sure now.

SED, everyone.

Busy day here and now watching the TCU football game.

Floor lamp was purchased at Penny's, an expensive lamp but marked way down. Payed approx $24 for the shade at Lowes. They really have a great selection of shades. It is really a different shape from the previous shade. I brought one home, but did not like it. Then I thought of changing the shape. Tried another shade from Jack's lamp and realized a different shape would work. That made it easier to find a shade. Last year we replaced they shades on our table lamps. The shades we got were expensive! Those lamps were good lamps bought approx 45 years ago. The shades did cost more than the $100 I paid for each of the lamps. But, they are much larger shades. Still ridiculous!

Have been working on a family reunion we will be going to next June! This is the Sargeant family. Mother was a Sargeant, one of 5 kids. There were 15 of us cousins raised close together. Going to be a riot getting this very large group together!

Lynne!!! What a story! So glad you are better!

Got my do done today! Feels good!

Jack has been armadillo hunting. Saw it last night but no luck. Still plowing up the lawn of our neighbor and digging up my caladiums! Grrrr!

Ordered that sack cat carrier. Skippi does fine in a towel but when we move her from car to trailer she had to be put in her carrier. This way we will not have the big carrier to fuss with. We do have a leash and halter for her.

Yawning, ready for bed, but game is still on.

Night all! SED!

Hi, Gang,

Sorry I'm getting here so late, but didn't want to keep you waiting any longer to hear about Ken's Post-Op appointment today. He's doing GREAT! They removed the bandage over the surgery site, and although he still has some stitches in there that will dissolve on their own, everything looks wonderful! I don't think he will even have much of a scar there. Maybe just a tiny little line. His hand still looks yucky, and we showed it to the Cardiology nurse. She said her husband had something like that a long time ago on his hand from a scratch, and the doctor lanced it for him. After that it healed up in just a few days. We may ask the dermatologist about that on Monday. It does look like a boil or something--the center is a white spot about the size of a pencil eraser.... We got the device that will communicate with the doctor's office all set up. It collects data from the pacemaker, then transmits it to the doctor. It will do this on its own every 4 months. Amazing technology! Ken doesn't have to go back to the cardiologist for a whole year! They'll set up an appointment when the time is near, and send him an e-mail about it.

Lynne2, boy oh boy, did you have a miserable day with that kidney stone! Glad it's gone, for sure! Bet that's what was causing your back pain too. So habby you are feeling better!

Tomorrow Ken goes to Los Angeles for a mediation meeting regarding his lawsuit against his former employer. I wish I could go along, but the lawyers couldn't say exactly how long it would take, and somebody needs to feed Emma her lunch. It's probably going to involve a lot of waiting, so might be boring, too. Ken's supposed to take along a book to read. Will keep you posted on that once we know what's going on.

Well, better get to bed. It is getting kinda late. I just noticed that we seem to have major cloud cover outside--we have our 'marine layer' back again, so tomorrow should be relatively cool (high 70s?). God bless, and goodnight. SED, everyone. I ♥ us!

Goodorming my eagle friends on this Friday of summer's last hurrah! I sure wish 10 weeks of winter would go by as fast as 10 weeks of summer does!

Lynne2 - poor you! That experience sounds horrible. I'm glad the stone passed; is there medication you can take to prevent another one from forming? You surely don't want to go through that ever again if you can avoid it.

Tennis for me at 8, dinner out on the boat with friends this evening.

Have agreat day all.

good morning to all.

yes, JUDYE: the cake has 1/2 cup of regular coke in it. it is very similar to the coca cola cakethey sell at cracker barrel. very rich and moist.

LYNNE2: glad you are back. kidney stones are no joke. I watched Tom drop to his knees from the pain from one. I hope yours do not come back.

Friday. 3 day weekend.

Hope everyone has a lovely day! hugs!

Good morning,

Just enjoying my coffee and contemplating the day.

Grass in the nest is beginning to look like a jungle. No, we do not need an oak tree growing there.

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

JO, so glad the Cyber Knife sessions are over--praying for good results when all the testing is done.

LYNNE2, so sorry you had to endure kidney stone pain---my dear sister was plagued with stones for a time in her early adulthood. She later said the pain with them was far worse than any encountered in the birth of her two sons.

ANDY, fingers crossed for Ken at the mediation meeting. Hoping for the best possible outcome for him. It's been a long process!

Seth called and will be home for the Labor Day weekend. He and his parents will go to the Otterbein-Buffalo U football game tomorrow afternoon---preceded by a tailgate party thrown by one of Hugh's co-workers who also had a son there. Afterward Seth will arrive here for our usual Sat/Sun conflab! He says all is well and he has a lot to share with me.

No big plans for today--waiting til' tomorrow to do my grosserie shopping. Had a series of thunderstorms yesterday and into the night--more expected today.

There must be lots of nutrients in the nest the way the grass is thriving!

Have a good RED FRIDAY everyone!!!

Praying for all in need!!!

Good morning to all.

Lynne2, I guess I missed the kidney stone problem. Maybe it was on FB. Anyway, I am so very glad it is gone but sorry you had to endure so much pain.

♪♫ ANTICIPATION ♪♫ Kay, that's your song while waiting for your time with Seth. I'm sure he's going to have lots of stories about his return to college.

Sandi, hope tennis was fun and dinner on the boat with friends will be even more fun. Enjoy!

Andy, happy to know that Ken is doing so well and has a year off from the cardiologist and hoping the law suit ends in his favor. I'm sure the dermatologist will be able to diagnose and treat the place on Kubby's hand.

Shirley, Allie sounds like such a little sweetheart. Isn't it nice to find a little furbaby curled up on the bed? Seems to me you need to be venturing out to search for deck shoes not hummingbird feeders.lol Well, okay. Maybe you can find both.

Laundry day for me. Wishing everyone else the best day possible.

Good late morning to all ♥

Today will be a relaxing day for me - With the Reunion tomorrow my girls and guys are taking on the responsibility of setting up the tables with paper coverings and center pieces, & set up a gas grill for hot dogs. They also plan games for kids and for adults. Hubby and I purchase the fried chicken and bring other sides and the other 3 brothers of Ed and their children also bring side dishes and DESSERTS ! It is a good
day!

Lynne - your kidney stone was a nasty little bugger - a pain in the side !
Sorry you had to endure all the pain ! At least with labor pains you get rewarded
in the end with a precious little one and all you got was a stone out of your pains.
However - like you said the pain you were having is now gone! Hurrah!

Shirley 2 weeks isn't very long to sort out your clothing and things to pack! I am really getting excited for you and your galfriends!
I am also happy about Allie being your cuddly little furball

Quick stop on the way to the laundry room.

Thank you Jo and JudyE for helping me figure out I am not blogstupid (my new word for the dictionary).

Really glad I stopped by to read Jo's post. Speaking of packing clothes, I'm headed to my closet to pack a few overnight things BECAUSE I am on my way to Jo's family reunion. I'll just say I'm a long-lost relative or something. Okay, okay. Really, I'm staying home BUT I am going to grill us some ribs and make Cole slaw.

Bye
