I stuck a feather in my "Eagle Whisperer" hat and called the others over.

Good morning to all ♥

Thank you Steve - any sightings of our Royal Couple recently? They have
a beautiful garden up in their nest

Today's dr appointment is to have blood work and to talk with my dr and hopefully schedule a CT date.
MTBR

I'll tell Iris over on FB (Which she isn't there too often anymore) that
we are all thinking of her and wishing her a beautiful birthday!

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

Thanks galore to STEVE and JO for doing their thing so well!

Yes, JO, please convey our best to Iris---it's been such a long time since she visited here, but we remember her with fondness!

Have to go backwards to see what y'all have talked about since yesterday afternoon......

Kay said...

Okay, back and w/a big smile on my face after reading about the HWDB, JUDIE has so accurately described!

HODA, you're a hoot--"if you survive"? Ha, you'll come through with the usual flying colors!

JANET, you are such a tease, "decision made"---so will you have yet another job or not?

JO, you have wonderful grandma and great grandma skills so I'll not worry about your ability to explain the "new look". You'll look smashing in any and all of your headdresses, including the one with umpteen zillion eagle feathers attached!

Another hot day, but a cool down into the 70's is promised for tomorrow and the weekend. Twill' feel good!

Love and prayers for all !!!

Oh, and SANDI, a reminder please---what does ELA stand for? Hope that teacher is not one you have to work with constantly.

Thanks for letting us know what our lovely LORI is feeling as the 8th approaches. I think it takes a special set of nerves for many of us to excel and EXCEL she will! Besides, I'm sure this is a test that can be taken over again if need be.

Kay said...

That last thank you was, of course, directed at JO. My thoughts so often get ahead of my fingers.

Mema Jo said...

Will you be out at the Dog Park again today with Penny? Watch out for those smelly spots!

Mema Jo said...

My local morning newspaper is going digital - :(
Don't know if I can break my 50 year habit of coffee and the news in the morning or not. They give you options but of course raise the monthly rate if you still want it delivered every morning. Times are changing!

Mema Jo said...

I'll be back mid afternoon

Incidentally - Margie is doing well -
just very very busy and her 'puter isn't yet up/running well.

Sandi - sorry to hear you once again have a teacher on your team that rubs
you the wrong way = Kids are the
center of your attention I'm sure. ♥

JO, I don't think this will be a park day--Julie's Wednesdays are long work days. Tomorrow she'll drop Malcolm off here at 10:30, as there are workmen due at her house. Penny and I will enjoy his company and the workmen might not!☺

I do so agree with you re:newspapers going digital--it is the trend, but I'm thankful the Columbus Dispatch is still available in paper. However, I do read several other newspapers on the internet each day. You'll need to park that cup o' joe close by continue reading that vital local news.

Wish Margy could find a good puter guru in her area. Seems like someone at work would be a sufficient geek, but it may be hard to ask for that kind of help. I miss her so!

So, too, do I miss those who've decided FB is the only way to go. I appreciate those of you who stick with the blog and we FB holdouts! You are the Best!

Kay said...

Oh, SHAR, what an amazing and miraculous story Lauren has to tell! Love seeing the broad smile on her face and on that of the doctor as well! Thanks for looking up ELA---why didn't I think of Googling it? Doh! Many workplaces have their own unique acronyms, providing for a language no one else quite understands. When in the Casino/Hotel biz in NV I often lapsed into such things as, EDR (employee dining room), EVS(enviromental servics),KM(kitchen management....My kids would say, "Mama, English please!"

Good morning! Have an appointment I an hour. Have been out watering pots.

Looked for the rare birds this morning but no luck. Will try to get a picture, but you know this bird is extremely active!!!

Also, need to get out and find something to decorate Jacob's lemon cake with lemon icing, his favorite! Last year I put a snake on it? Hmmm, wonder what I can find? Thinking also of trying to make his icing neon green! LOL
His birthday is Monday. Will take dinner up there and pick him up after school. 10 years old! Where does the time go?

Jo, thinking of you! Be thankful for your beautifully shaped head. I have a big lump on the back of my skull! It has been tested and is just a bumpy skull!

Gotta run!

Kay, there is a girl that I used to sponsor in my 12-step program who is now in jail. She called me the other day telling me how much time she was facing on a new charge. I asked what the charge was and she said felony concealment. I thought that meant concealing a gun or something but it turns out that is the new term for shoplifting. Who knew? :)

Good morning,

Back on Kathryn's laptop this morning. My laptop is at Rus's now. I had sent the only power cord we could locate along with him, so when Kathryn's computer ran out of power, we were without a laptop. Last night I found a cord and hooked it up.

Interesting story, Sharon. You must have made a good connection with that girl if she chose to call you. I hope you are able to continue the good influence. So many young people have no one to set a good example for them.

Good afternoon.

Thank you Steve for the fresh thread.

Congratulations to Jo on yet another feather for her cap. At the rate she's going, she's going to topple over from the weight of that Eagle Whisperer hat. I do think JudyE has broken the code (Steve and Jo are in cahoots).lol

Hope to hear from Jo this afternoon for an update.

JUDYE, you are truly remarkable. You got a picture of the rare and wondrous Hoda Warbling Dragon Boating bird. As you sometimes say: cool beans.

Shar, those I know who have had hip replacement recover very quickly and are happy to walk pain-free. I'm sure your experience will be good.

I might not remember correctly but I believe the VA statute for felony concealment is when the stolen item(s) cost $200 or more. At $200, petit larceny (shoplifting) becomes felony larceny.

Quiet day. Too hot for outside. Did some catch-up laundry. Think I'll grill chicken tonight and make an avocado salad.

Yes, Joan Rivers has apparently died. Wishing her family and friends peace.

Today I was extra busy - 11:45 blood work and then waited for it to
analyzed before seeing my cancer dr.
The blood work on the cells was GOOD.
Before leaving he wanted a CT and the Radiologist appointment to be set. So I said ASAP = and the assistant said go on down for you CT. I did that - 9/10 I will see cancer dr to know results. I am hoping for area to have shrunk - It is very possible there may not be a change in size but WE all know that isn't going to happen.
Then on 9/11 I will see the Radiologist. I am tired from the day but so happy the testing is over. We just finished dinner and I think my feet are going up again. BBL

Ok, we have a goal! We are going to pray this spot smaller! We can do this!!!

Laurel posted something funny. As you know Joseph is going to a smaller school. He is playing football. He is the QB, kicker, punter and running back. Hope he really likes it as he will be seeing a lot of playing time!

Have decided on Jacob's birthday cake. It is going to be a lemon cake/lemon icing that he wants, but the icing will be green, his favorite color. I bought a small Lego set and going to scatter some of the larger pieces on the cake! I do believe it will be a hit. He has also requested meatballs for dinner Monday . I can handle that!

I have started a diet, aiming for 10 pounds or more. Going to be fit for the holidays! :)

Judie said...

Dinner over and finished with the scullery.

Jo, so glad you were able to have pronto service for the CT. As you well know, we are all with you and keeping you close - especially Jufie and Sandperson.

My feets are also going up. Will be back later -- unless Hoda decides to be silly and run off with Dudley under cover of darkness.

Good evening,

Back from vet's. Luna's incision isn't healing properly. She has been liking it too much. We now have her in both the cone and the shorts. Stitch removal has been postponed, and we had to get more antibiotic. We have to buy a doughnut-type collar tomorrow.

stronghunter said...

Have been picking the leftover crabs. Went to the vet's with a faint scent of crab on my hands.

It was a busy afternoon of having to stop to tend to Luna in the midst of crab picking. She has become a high-maintenance pet.

Good Friday morning my eagle friends.

Jo, great news about the blood work looking good - praying for good results from the CT scan.

I didn't get along with the ELA teacher on my team last year - had some nasty arguments that ended up including the administration. The principal said he would move her to another team. But the principal left and the new principal kept everyone on the same teams - not his fault, he doesn't know the history. So we are stuck together again this year. It is what it is.

Happy birthday to Lynne1! Hope you have a wonderful day today!

Janet said...

good Friday (RED FRIDAY) morn!

sorry about the absence yesterday: so much going on. work was good. then it was a perfect pool day, so I spent an hour in the pool, dinner, and Tom's uncle (in his upper 70's) had a procedure in the hospital.....and so we visited him for a bit last night and when we got home, I was in bed.

THE DECISION: let's see. well! the big boss' right hand text me and gave ma job offer. they could NOT and I know this, match what a I make @ ME. they offered me intern clinic supervisor. said they would work with whatever schedule I happened to want, but the clinic hours are wed, thurs and fri 12 noon to 7 p.m.

my intuition says I need to do this....but I don't want to leave ME. so what I came up with is I give up my Wednesdays @ massage envy and work there 12 to 7. I will make the same amount of money as I make at ME on that day (3 hour shift), but the point is more that it is a different level of the work.

supposedly I start next week.

this still allows me to do all the things I need to do....

and I got some more news. I was so happy....but....oddly I suppose.

my ultrasound came back normal! yeah!

my bloodwork: not anemic, thankfully, but am most definitely POST MENOPAUSAL! I have waited and waited and waited to hear those words. I started this mess when I was 40.

however, given the issue I've had the last 3 months, and the massive mess I had on my hands last week, I have a gyn apt with a Vanderbilt dr on Oct 6 to discuss the situation.

I told the doc if we didn't do something, i'd remove the problem my self. he said, laughing, he didn't know, but thought that that might be a bit painful. I laughed too and said, well, that's shy I haven't done it yet.

so anyway, its been kind of crazy.

work today. looks like another good pool day for a dip after work.

livvy has caught a cold so she wasn't feeling well yesterday. we have some work to do today since she slept yesterday away.

sad about Joan Rivers. thinking of her daughter and family.

okay, off and running. have a great day! light and love to all!
