Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

LOLLY, thankful Jacob fared well---may his "wound" heal quickly!

SANDI, what a happy event for your niece and the whole family! Enjoy and safe travel!

HODA, couldn't you light the ol' oil lamp or a candle in the search for those elusive slippers? Or, was a can o' worms in the way? Inquiring minds?????

Yes, JO, apparently tis' the season. I'm so looking forward to what Belle and Shep have in store for us next!

A lovely, warm Autumn day here. Penny and I will be outdoors a lot!

Love and prayers for all!!!

Good morning Jo and JudyE.

JudyE, I don't say so often enough but thank you for all the pictures you provide for the album. You are appreciated.

I awake refreshed after 10 hours of sleep to find Hoda is on an Autumn head trip -- searching in the dark in 43ยบ weather for house slippers she hasn't seen since last May. lol Enjoy your trip Hoda.

Lolly, so nice that Jacob did so well. Have a good day.

Sandi, safe travels to and from. Have fun.

Going to sip my coffee and peruse the newspaper. Today I plan to bake an apple cake. Never tried this but recipe is interesting.

Beautiful weather this morning. Sunshine and bright blue sky.

Wonder how Hunter is?

Have a good morning everyone.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Mema Jo, know what stinks worse than that? When you put one in your mouth. UGH!!!

Judie said...

Stink bug count from my abode: todate = 2. I do not like stink bugs and have not issued an invitation to any. Not only do they stink they are also rude to just walk in without an invite.

JudyEddy said...

HELLO on lunch

Stink bugs I see one once in a while been forever since I have seen one here I do remember them more in KY and OH when I lived there not so much in Fl

OH remember our Lynne2 had so many where she use to love Stink bug ranch is what she had I think

JUDIE so happy you got some sleep

and no problem with the pic I enjoy doing them

It is such a slow day at Wally World
I have done nothing but K cups today
It passes the time and I enjoy working with all the different smells of coffee Aroma therapy

On way home from soccer. Great game! They are undefeated !

Jacob is fine. He was so nervous beforehand. Then he was so hyper afterwards. He asked the doctor during the procedure how it looked. The doctor said it was awful . It had fangs . Claws, and hair! It was so gross he had to close his eyes. Jacob liked that!

Janet said...

good afternoon all.

its been a quiet day. I slept late.

used to be, my eyeballs would pop open by 6 a.m. and I simply couldn't sleep any more and tom would lie and snooze. NOW HE is awake @ 6 a.m. and I am the one snoozing the day away....

he fixed the sliding glass door that squished the snot out of my finger earlier this week. :) :)

I've not done a lot...I baked cake. tom's bday is in a couple of days, but we will celebratetomorrow. the first cakes stuck in the pan.... didn't go well. I simply dug them out and we ate. they are nice, moist and chocolatety. I simply cleaned up and baked more...after I got some of that bakers joy stuff. sure makes a difference.

I will frost them tomorrow.

that's truly about all I've done today. grandkids will be here in a bit. I have a craft project to do with them that I think they will enjoy. tom is going to get a massage this evening.

its been such a pretty day, I am not motivated though. going to open my book in a few min and just dig in and read. i'm readying PREY by Michael Crighton. quite good!

hmmmm. stink bugs and worms. quite the conversation today. lol. I have no bugs to toss in the barrel, so my commentary will have to suffice for now. :) later ya'll.

Donelson is a neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee located about 10 km east of downtown Nashville along U.S. Route 70. It is named in honor of John Donelson, co-founder of Nashville and father-in-law of Andrew Jackson, Nashvillian and seventh President of the United States.

I am going to look. I bet it was the Cumberland River. The other big rivers are Stones Creek and the Harpeth as well. I think there is another, but it won't pop into my head right now. Thanks!

Hi,

So glad that both Jacob and Skippi are doing well.

Wondering if Judie is already sound asleep.

Busy day today.

Went to the bowling alley for some practice. I met two of my teammates there--Julie and Val. Val brought her husband, who happens to be a professional bowler. He showed up to give us a few pointers and turned out to be very entertaining. He told me that I was doing a lot of things right, but he thought I might be troubled by aliens. Yes, little green men from outer space. Said I was a "crack" bowler because I was trying to make the ball go down the crack between the boards that goes to the pocket in the pints.

I will have to continue to practice some of the things he told me to do.

Our team is still in first place, but the new handicaps go into effect next week. That is going to make a difference.

This afternoon I went to Hunter's football game. Unfortunately, they lost by maybe 5 or 6 touchdowns. They did not get any. Much practice is needed.

I came home to find a letter from the HOA that said they did not approve of the John Deere in the driveway.

Tonight it is Luna, Lucky, and me. Hunter and Kathryn went off to a birthday party for Keshia's daughter. A very girlie party for ten-year-olds. Hunter is thrilled, I am sure, but he will survive.

Well, Hoda. Maybe you are tripping with the little green men.

stronghunter said...

Oh, stink bugs! Haven't seen any for awhile. They seem to like to collect in Kathryn's room. Need to make sure windows are tightly closed.

Will need to hit the Laundromat tomorrow. Hunter and Kathryn went today. I hope the new washer arrives early on Wednesday so that I get plenty of time alone with it before the others get home and start wanting to wash stuff.

stronghunter said...

Just booked a room at the Clarion in Shepherdstown for Oct. 17-18. Looks like the rooms are going rapidly.

Judie said...

Good evening.

Cannot believe how ready I am to visit the pillows. Was busy today doing laundry and cooking.

Shirley, hope you like the new washer. Perfect to have a professional bowler provide expert advice. Enjoy your time with Lucky and Luna. Sorry about Hunter's football team loss.

Janet, sometimes lazy days are necessary. My apple cake tastes okay but didn't turn out as hoped, either. I just don't do do-overs. lol

I watched Hallmark movie this evening - I was really enjoyable.

EXCITING that you two have your rooms already. I doubt that it is too soon - Not sure what Shep College events are - could very well be Homecoming. I'll check their calendar tomorrow.

Goodorming my eagle friends!

The baby shower was nice but a bit much! 90 invitations were sent out - 90!!! Can you picture the piles of gifts???? The event was catered by Bill's seafood - shrimp, crab balls, crab dip, crab soup, fruit and veggies for appetizers, then stuffed shells, turkey rolls, salad, green beans with almonds, red potatoes, and a tomato salad as entrees, then about 7 different desserts, plus the beer, wine, and mixed drinks were flowing! Tents and tables with table cloths and centerpieces were set up outside (fortunately it was a beautiful day weather wise). It was more like a wedding reception at someone's house than a baby shower!

The very best part of the day was that Lynnis came with Freyja so we got to hold our grandbaby. Won't see her again til the end of October for Brian's birthday. Brian is headed to Mexico til October 12th for something related to his new post in Mexico City.

I noticed as we were driving that the leaves near Baltimore are just starting to change. It should be very pretty in Shepherdstown the weekend of 10/17-18.

Tennis and then school work and laundry are on my agenda.

Have agreat Sunday everyone!

Judie said...

Good morning everyone.

JudyE, so much rain at once. May the sunshine fill today. Guess I have needed some "catch up" sleep.

Happy Birthday to Bill. Wishing you a wonderful day and a terrific next year.

Sandi, that reception actually does seem more like a wedding reception. Just as long as the baby and mom are healthy is what's important.

Off to get coffee and newspaper. Might go to the Sunday Farmer's Market to seek culinary inspiration.

Wishing everyone a lovely morning.

Good morning! Just time to say hello.
Washed my hair this morning and need to go dry it and get it ready for church.

So, how many are going to make it on the 18th? Has the Queen responded? I think it is time to dethrone her. She has ignored us for too long. Time to write her off!

Skippi continues to do well. She has been more loving since the surgery. Such a sweet kitty! The vet's staff love her. too!

Ok, gotta run. Later....

Mema Jo said...

Good "almost afternoon" to all. I
could wait 2 mins and I would have missed my good morning.

Jenny is here or I would have been on sooner.

Mema Jo said...

Sandy - all I can say about the Baby Shower is - I hope all the gifts equaled the initial shower expense!
Very extravagant to say the least.
Happy that you got to hold Freyja
and visit with Lynnis.

stronghunter said...

Wow, Sandi, that was some party. As Judie said, the most important thing is that mom and baby are healthy.

Busy here loading up the laundry basket for a trip to the laundromat.

stronghunter said...

Also taking along the bowling ball so I can get in some more practice.

stronghunter said...

Hope we hear from the Queen and from our Margy about the upcoming gathering.

Kay said...

Good Afternoon, Eagle Buds!!!

SANDI, glad the Baby Shower gave you the opportunity to love on Freyja and visit with Lynnis. Also sounds like you left there with delightfully full tummies! Hmmm good!

LOLLY, good news re:Skippi!

SHIRLEY, how wonderful it is that you have access to a Pro-bowler! Can just imagine you putting some of his suggestions into play when practicing today.

Seth stayed on campus Friday evening for a performance of Sweet Charity, but came home yesterday morning. He called about 4 and said he wanted to come over for the night. Yeah! He's back home now, doing homework and laundry before heading back to campus this evening. Good thing Otterbein is only 25 minutes from home!

Happy Birthday to BILL (RED) !!! And many more!!! Miss you her !!!

Gorgeous Indian Summer in progress here--great times outdoors with Penny !

Love and prayers for all !!!

Shirley - you be careful bowling at the laundromat ! lol

Did go out to dinner at Cracker
Barrel.... Good Food but crowded

I asked Carolyn to nudge Margy at work about the get together. Hoping she will make one of the events

I am going to watch The Good Wife but it is running a little late due to football.

Judie said...

Ah yes, Jo. I also wondered about Shirley bowling at the laundromat. Bet that would be a hoot to watch. Okay everyone, if she knocks over the box of detergent it's a strike! If she knocks over the container of softener, it's a something not a strike.

I am headed across the hall to watch Midsomer. Likely a repeat but I will enjoy more than I did last Thursday night.

Judie said...

Just in case, the night light is on. Sandperson is packed and ready to depart.

I am hoping that everyone has a good week ahead - I am closing for the night.

Goodnight to all my friends ♥

Watched me some football tonight! Great Cowboy win!!

Ready to hit the pillow. Jack just came in from doing his first round of armadillo hunting. Stupid critter plowed up my front yard last night! Not the immediate front but down front under the pecan trees. Never done that before but Jack ran the sprinkler system down there last night and guess he liked the moisture.

It has been a quiet day. Laurel did text about Joseph's soccer game. They won big! Joseph is the goal keeper. If he is not in the goal, he plays defense. Well, today at the end he played forward and got in two good kicks into the goal. He scored once but the keeper got the other one. Can't win at football, but doing great with soccer!

Ok, saying goodnight! SED!๐Ÿ˜

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends - it's Monday. Got enough school work done yesterday that I'm beginning to feel a little less overwhelmed. Let's see how long that lasts.

It sounds like the group going to NCTC is growing - should be a fun weekend, full of hugs and laughter. Wish I could be there but that's Kevin's birthday weekend.

Prayers for all, especially for Jo. Have a great day all.

Good Monday morning Eagle Buds

Lolly said...

Good Morning! Yes, Sandi, sounds like there is going to be a great group. Wishing them a glorious time. Sure wish I could be there! Oh, well.......s-i-g-h! So glad you are feeling a little less stressed. But, you need a weekend with NO school work!

Mr. Armadillo did another big number on the lawn last night. Jack saw him but he ran. Grrrrr! I am sure Jack will hunt again tonight.

Another week with not much on the agenda but Jack has three doctor appointment. Not fun! No football this week so no long trips either. Hmmmm....maybe we should have planned a short trip this week.

Have a great day!

Janet said...

good morning.

Yes JUDYE: two cakes. if I make one, with this crew, there isn't much left. this time I had plenty, PLUS I sent a bunch home with Chelsea & crew! :)

Tom's bus had to be turned in Friday and spent the weekend getting a GPS update. So got up just before 5 and took him down to the fairgrounds to pick up his bus.

Came home, went back to bed . took a while to fall asleep. just woke back up.

drinking coffee, then homeschool stuff.

have a grrrrrrreat day!

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

JO, what did you think of The Good Wife? I read some commentary that said to expect the same great cast of actors this season, but to also expect a weakened plot line, as in Boring. Not so for me with this first of the season---I enjoyed it as much as ever!

LOLLY, sounds like JACK needs to build an armadillo blind. What a mess they are causing for you. Happy news re:Joseph's Soccer skills--it's a somewhat safer sport than American football, so it's great he loves it. Ewww, a three doctor visit for JACK, hope all are routine and that all is well.

SANDI, glad to hear you're feeling less stress! I'm with you, I'd dearly love to be with our dear Momster's in October, but will look forward to pics and reports!

JANET n' JUDY, you gals are making me hungry with the talk of cake! The only thing more tempting would be pie.☺

No SHIRLEY, JUDIE or HODA yet today. The sandperson must have done a number on em'.

Looks like STEVE's auto-new thread order has expired?????

It's a beauteous Indian Summer Monday here, so out Penny and I go!
