Thanks for the new thread, Steve.

Thank you STEVE
Thank you WANDA

Hoda said...

Yay WANDA got a feather!!!
Start of a head dress???

Costume Lady said...

I think this is feather #2 for me...apparently I haven't been very active on here:)

YES, I did a face plant last night!
I was so tired and sleepy that when I went to sleep, I slept til 9:30 this morning (my usual time for awakening is 7am) It felt really good.

Just made a new squash dish that was so very good: grated small squash, onions, ham bits and 2 eggs. This was my take on another recipe. I think bacon bits or sausage bits would be yummy too.
We have many squash in GG's and our garden...have to think of new ways to prepare this delicious and healthy veggie.

Judie said...

Thank you Steve for the fresh sunshiny thread.

Thank you Wanda for hollering at us and for getting a feather. Maybe hide it because Jo is real close to finishing her headdress.

Books sorted. Need to make the list. Think I'll put my feet up for a few.

Costume Lady said...

Do you like squash, Hoda?

Costume Lady said...

Judie, you may need on to put in your hair;) What fun we had that evening. I think of BOB with that feather in his ear, because he had no hair, every time I see a single feather!

Sandi said...

Thanks Steve for the new thread and Wanda for the call over!

Home from physical therapy - my leg feels great! Going again tomorrow and then 3 times a week for the next 2 weeks and then I think I'll be back on the tennis court. Got a list of exercises to do at home as well.

Hot and humid outside - hoping we get some rain to water my plants.

Lori, you are brave - having a tooth pulled while awake! Sure not my style - I need to be asleep!!

Lori O. said...

Thank you, STEVE, for the new thread and WANDA for the call over!

Took a nap when I got home from the dentist and was in no pain...now that I'm awake and the numbing is wearing off I could use a pain killer. The pulling part really wasn't that bad.

SANDI, glad PT is doing so well for you! That's great!

Just fed the dogs, now I'm off to pick up my retainers to keep my teeth from moving - until I can get an implant. Expensive process.

Have a good afternoon all!

JUDIE, good on you for the downsizing!

Hoda said...

WANDA I love love love squash!! What a blessing that you have to gardens from which to choose. Lucky Lady!
Sounded yummy your creation for today.
Wished I was there...

LORI I panicked when JUDIE said you would not have anesthetic... You spoke of numbing wearing off, so you must have had something. Glad you did, I am not much for subjecting bodies to unnecessary pain. Yes it is expensive to do dental surgery but well worth it.

90 degrees out there. Had a terrific yoga practice. It was hot though!!! Bought a vegan gluten free sugar free ice cream. Mint chocolate chip. Delicious. Got 473 ml should last me for the week . Sure cooled me down thank God!!!
LOLLY AND JACK are headed towards 100 degrees. That is what my friend in OKC said!!!

What??? What What what????? So I am nice enough to let MISS JUDIE KNOW NOT TO FEEL GUILTY, and what does she say??? Did you all catch that??? I thought so!!! She told ME!!! ME??? To keep my snoring down to a roar!!!!
I hope you are as shocked as I am!!! LOL

Hoda said...

Two not to WANDA in reference to gardens!

SANDI so pleased physio will shorten the time before you can get back to the court. Extra exercises Also a good idea.

Tomorrow I have a yoga workshop and I am really looking forward to it.

Sheila was a long time Gran from Nelson. She moved to Victoria to be close to her family the end of May. She had heart surgery today and died in the operating room. We are sad!!! Thinking of how to honour her memory.
God Rest Her Soul.

JudyEddy said...

LOOKIE LOOKIE
do you recognize this picture

Hoda said...

Sure do JUDYE.
God Rest LYNN'S SOUL.
Miss her.

Lori O. said...

HODA, I did have two numbing shots but was wide awake for all the pulling and jerking the tooth out. Just saw my dentist and she said to bite on a tea bag where the tooth was pulled and that will keep it from bleeding.

HODA, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, Sheila. That is so sad. At least her family had more time with her since she moved to be close to them. Prayers for her family.

Did someone say LOLLY is headed home to 100 degrees? WHEW! Hope it's not humid, too.

JUDYE, welcome home from work. Hope you had a great day!

JudyEddy said...

GREAT DAY LORI because this is my last day I am on STAYCATION now

I have done the tea bag thing and it works great LORI and I use to get dry tooth sockets after teeth pulled and I didn't smoke so they couldn't blame that because if you smoke that will cause it also sometimes

are you in any PAIN now ??
??????????????????

JudyEddy said...

When I had teeth pulled
I was AMAZED how fast
they did it with no effort it seemed

JudyEddy said...

changed back to my eaglet I saw a adult eagle today on top of a cell phone tower that they took the platform off right next to the park

Hoda said...

LORI very glad for the shots smart move.
Yes on the tea bag... Black tea stops bleeding.
I wrote it was 100 degrees in OKC and LOLLY is headed to Texas. Can not wait to hear what it is there.

Hoda said...

LOLLY just said on FB that she looked it up on her iPhone and it is 102!!!!

Hello! No, not just getting up. Was able to sleep last night thanks to the sandman's extra dust.

Lori, hope you mouth heals fast. Not a pleasant procedure to endure but should resolve any tooth troubles. My cap will be ready the 22 at least I hope it is not another dry run.

Hoda, sorry about the loss of your friend. Prayers for her family.

Sandi, continued healing but do not get back on the court too soon.

Janet, how's the pool coming along? Hope you get to use it soon.

Hi Wanda! Glad your soup kitchen is going so well.

Judie, it can't be easy to get rid of your literary friends. I should be doing the same but some are very special to me. Especially my favorite authors like.Alexander Dumas, leon Uris and John Jakes, to name a few.

Okay, my chef needs help with dinner. Will check back later

Mema Jo said...

Wow! It is already 6:35 pm Dinner is over And I am just now seeing the new thread.
THANKS FOR the Wacky Wednesday New Thread, Steve.

See what happens when you return, Wanda? Happy you got the Feather! ♥

Mema Jo said...

Sandi - happy you will be3 back on the courts as soon as you wanted to be.

Hoda - prayers for your friends family. Very sad though that Shelia
died on the operating table.

Lori - Tea bags do work if there is bleeding to be stopped. Didn't they give you a few pain pills?

Judie - great that you can give your books to a library.

Mema Jo said...

Judy - how long is your staycation?

Your monitor - I think you forgot to save the change.

JudyEddy said...

Just a week JO I have 4 weeks to take by May 18 next year so I am doing one week every three months not unless something changes

JudyEddy said...

OK lets see if this works Thanks JO for the headup I would probably have not see it TWO IN ATTIC

JudyEddy said...

I got a snip just as the one juvie poofed don't know where he went was snipping

Costume Lady said...

Giving books to a library reminds me of our LYNN giving a copy of GREY'S ANATOMY to Andy/Andrea. What a special, selfless act that was, because that is not an INEXPENSIVE BOOK and I think it proved to be very invaluable to Andrea. LYNN was so special, to so many of us, in so many ways ~♥~

Two days ago a train carrying petroleum went through a town. It was out of control. Explosions and the town was wiped out. Now 50 people are unaccounted for and the reports are that they were vaporized!!! It shocks me that word vaporized!!! 20 bodies recovered so far. We are now playing the blaming game. NOT A GOOD IDEA TO TRANSPORT OIL BY TRAIN OR BE PIPES!!!

good evening to all!

first off, i have been sitting here literally laughing at all the commentary and silliness....love love love it!

its been a busy few days...nancy and chris left @ 4:30a.m. our time and arrived home about 3:30 p.m. i miss them already, but know we will get together a.s.a.p. always such fun when we are together. i posted some pix on my blog if you are interested .

let's see....the pool update. 3/4 of the way full. we had to stop because we have to backfill next to the pump, get it moved closer to the electric before we can plug it in.

right now however, we are just finishing up a dandy thunderboomer which was quite the frog strangler! it poured buckets for the last 45 min....we likely got a couple inches of rain. lots of lightening...and so the place we needed to back fill is now a moat again.

oh well, there's always tomorrow. good news is, i don't have to water tonight. :)

i had a lovely surprise when i got home from my a.m. massages, tom had cleaned the house and done a bunch of the laundry! i thought i'd have to do that when i got home. i was very pleased!

well, the thunderstorm has passed, so i should go in thtere and finish the dinner dishes. we had a lovely salad for dinner.....complete with blackberries, raspberries, bleu cheese....plus lots and lots of greens and other good veggies!

i'm gonna say good night for now. haven't been sleeping well for a while (hot flahes/night sweats start aroudn 3 a.m. and continue well into the day). so if i am lucky i'll get 5 or so hours of solid sleep a night, plus i've been up late with gal pals...so i think its gonna be an early night for me.

SED to all --- hugs, love, light, and healing! nite ya'll

Fascinating, HODA! I used WD40 all the time for sticky things!

Once again, I'm so sorry about your friend, Sheila.

JUDYE, well, you still have tomorrow and Friday off as your regular days off, right? Glad it was a great day.

Hope LOLLY adjusts to the temps when she gets home!

DIANN, if you're checking in again late tonight, I hope your knees are feeling better and that you've been able to get some rest.

KAY, Big HUGS!

SHARON, how is your neighborhood coping with the loss of your neighbor? How are YOU doing. How is THELMA? I haven't seen her on the blog in a while.

Good night all. I just got a call from the Dentist who pulled my tooth = WOW! Wasn't expecting that. Tylenol and 2 Advil and I feel much better. Going to drift off to dreamland now...

Goodnight all...love you all!

Prayers for everyone.

Goodnight LORI

Glad you are feeling better.

Sheila, the Nelson Grans to Grans member had a good life. She was active and she contributed to her community.
She even attended the Victoria Grans to Grans mtg and was planning to join them in Autumn.
The sadness is for missing her. She had a very good life and an equally good death. Her heart could not take the demands of a heart surgery. She did not suffer. As the Buddhists say on birth and in death "Happy Continuation Day." So I wish her a safe journey...
THANK YOU LORI

Good late evening.

Hoda, so very sad for you and your friends for the empty space you have on the death of Sheila. She will, I am sure, be with you always in spirit as the Grans to Grans continue your good work and contributions to the community. My sympathy to you and all of Sheila's family and friends.

Lori, hope you are feeling as well as possible and that your toothless space heals very quickly. Hmmm, tea bag? Well, I prefer Dr. Jack Daniels, lol.

Headed to the covers. Sandperson is packing a satchel with extra sleepy dust for those we know are in need, no names are necessary.

Yes, it is emotional to give up my literary "friends" but others will be able to enjoy so I pass along the pleasure. These are all pleasure reading books and, so far, have donated ~250 books.

Restful sleep for all (and no snoring allowed).

Hi, Everyone,

Well, it feels just a tiny bit cooler here tonight. We had a few sprinkles/drizzles. The temp. is still 77, with a humidity of 64%, which makes it feel like 79. I hope we get more sprinkles tomorrow! Poor Emma was like a limp dishrag today--had to keep replenishing her Kool Collar. That really helps her when it's hot.

Hoda, so sorry to hear about your friend Sheila. Prayers for you, and her family and other friends.

Lolly, I sure hope it isn't humid where you are, considering how hot it is!

Wanda, Lynn did indeed give me a copy of Gray's Anatomy, and I use it often when I'm doing transcription. No wonder I miss her so much--it reminds me of her daily! What a special gift! ♥♥

Well, I need to go sit in front of a fan for a while. Hope we can manage to sleep tonight. Have said prayers for everyone. The porch light is on. Both security systems are enabled. SED, everyone. God bless, and goodnight. I love all of you!

WELCOME HOME Lolly. I've been thinking of you the past couple of days, with all the rain we have been having. I do wish one of them could have been sent your way. Doesn't seem fair...we have such a wet, soggy garden that we can't get in to pick our squash and beans. For some reason, we didn't get straw put down in between the rows...didn't think about until now. GG's garden is the same way and she has a ton of green beans waiting to be picked. We did manage to pick her squash. I took her some of the squash that I made earlier and she loved it...that made me so happy. It gives me great joy when she really likes something that is so healthy for her:)
She ventured out onto her porch, on her own, and dead-headed her spent flowers and leaves and examined the tomato plant that Gene potted for her and the climbing beans that he planted and allowed to climb up onto her porch railing. She can stand on her porch and pick tomatoes and green beans in a few weeks:)

Yes, Andrea, most of us have something in our lives that reminds us often of our LYNN. I have many, she was such a dear friend and now, Carolyn has become dear to me, also. She's a sweet, fun person:)

DIANN, Jayden is much bigger now than what you see in my avatar. that was taken last year. I will put some more recent photos of him on my blog, when I'm not so sleepy.

MARGY, if you want some squash, just say the word and we will drop some off for you!

Saying good night before I face plant and mess this blog up again!
Love and prayers for all ~♥~

DOn't know if its made national news or not, but Randy Travis (for all country music fans) is in critical condition. Heart problems, had a stroke and has had surgery (per the news) to relieve pressure on the brain.... Doens't sound good for him.....He is only 54.

Work today. We didn't get to work on the pool as we had a massive thunderboomer come thru and dump a bunch of rain last night....so that after work, and then ice skating for Olivia this evening..

Hope everyone has a lovely day! Gotta get ready for work!

Good morning,

Raining here again this morning.

Glad you got the Scrabble invitation, Lynne. I wasn't sure if it went through. Sometimes that game glitches too.

stronghunter said...

Hi, Jim--I have a hard time figuring out what I'm seeing in the nest area with all of those leaves. I expect you're seeing an adult eagle there, though.

Beautiful view of the two chicks at Finney's nest.

Hi, Stronghunter.

Hunter was in a mood last night. It seems that Kings Dominion was closed down because of lightning. He did not want to eat out, just sulked and pouted. But he was happy to go to Carl's for ice cream.

Beautiful blue sky at the nest. The attic is MT.

movin said...

The leaves were blowing the right direction, and I could see the dark body clearly, but I wasn't sure what it was.. Then he/she began to raise and lower her head as though eating.

I'm not sure I see it now though.

Good Thursday Morning everyone!

JANET, heard about Randy Travis. It's tragic.

HODA, also have been hearing on the news about the train that "vaporized" so many people. Horrible, horrible accident, though they say it's now being investigated as a crime.

JUDYE, hope you're enjoying your staycation! One week every three months is very nice!

JUDIE, 250 books!!! WOW! Very nice of you to donate them.

LOLLY, welcome home! Hope it's not too hot and you get some rain.

WANDA, congrats on such a successful soup kitchen Tuesday night. Hope your garden dries out soon, but not too much. :)

JANET, so what's the latest estimate on when you'll get to use the pool?

DIANN, glad you're resting better, now let's get those knees to moving! Just wish no pain for you.

PAULA, what's on your agenda today?

MARGY, any special plans today?

KAY, I hope you're drying out...we're supposed to have lots of rain and thunderstorms today. Treats for Penny!

SHARON, are you still doing PT? How is your body feeling these days?

SANDI, enjoy your day at the beach if it doesn't rain. Treat your calf well. Glad PT is helping!

Good morning eagle buds.

The sun is actually out today.

This must be dental month on the blog. I went in yesterday to do the prep work for a new crown. It was an unnerving experience as the weather alert on the radio was going off every two minutes. A tornado in the next county and lots of rain particularly in the Pittsburgh area. My fear was that there would be a power loss before my procedure was over. All turned out well and the crown should be ready in 3 weeks. Lori, I think the sound effects during a tooth extraction are the worst part.

Hoda, sorry to hear about your friend.

I have a story about WD-40. A couple of years ago I was in the car with a couple of elderly, straight laced, never married women when the subject of WD 40 came up. I was trying to remember an alternative (silicon spray). One of the women googled lubricant on my iphone and got an unexpected education.

Judie- I donated several hundred books to the library when I left TX. I hated to part with them, but knew I would not re-read them and they might benefit others. In my past life I read at least a book a week, now I'm lucky to read one a month. It is interesting how our lives and interests evolve with time.

I'm waiting for a call from the garage door opener installer--I've 'loved' spending $$ this week.LOL Have a great day all.

The WD-40 report: great stuff!
What a clever name for it

Good morning.
I like getting the blog on email.
Easier to keep up. Might continue to check box after desk top is fixed.

Off to a yoga workshop today. See you around five your time.
Enjoy the day.

LORI hope no dental pain from surgery yesterday.
Yes I would like to know how SHAR is going health wise.
And where in the name of God is THELMA??? She has been missing for quite a while...

I declare ice cream to be a food group anywhere when the temperatures are in the 90's!!!
I just had ice cream for breakfast.

QUEEN HODA has spoken, and I love the declaration. I do anything for a Dairy Queen Blizzard with M & M's and Reeses! Of course, it's a perfect time today since I'm supposed to eat soft food AND it's going to be hot. Stay cool, HODA!

Hi, Gang,

Dropping in to say a quick "Howdy,"
because the humidity is high again today. We had just a tiny bit of drizzle early this morning, but not enough to completely wet the ground. It's very overcast at the moment. At 7:00 this morning, it looked like about 5:30 am outside it was so cloudy. Need to call the new vet today if we don't get lab results for Emma in the snail mail, or a call from them. Emma was looking sad, and seemed to get overheated very easily yesterday, but she seems fine today. That's kind of how it's been lately--good days, and some not as good. She's basically much better than she was in April, though. Guess it's 2 steps forward, and 1 step back. I will be anxious to know from the vet when we can reapply Revolution on Emma. She was due for it on
6/28, and I don't want either heartworms OR fleas to have a chance to get a toehold here. Oh, how I WISH I could take Emma for a long walk every day! Trouble is, I just don't think a complete DAILY bath would be good for her skin and coat, so have to try to keep her from getting bored. Try to think up new games/activities for inside the house--not easy! The latest new "activity" is to try to snip a bit of her coat a lot shorter each chance I get. She's a frisky, moving target when she's feeling good, so it's a challenge.
Eventually, hopefully sooner than later, she will have a summer haircut!

Hoda, I'm with you--where is Thelma? Hope all is well with her!
T-Bird, are you there?! I miss your morning greetings!

Good to see Jim here for awhile this morning. Hope you're surviving our summer weather better than I am!

Well, need to go take care of Emma's latest batch of boiled chicken, and take a couple of pills (especially the antihistamine). Will check back in later today. Hope everyone has a terrific Thursday! I ♥ us!!!
Oh--Emma says, "Rowf, ruff, roo, WOOF!" to everyone. Thanks for your concern for her!

Howdy all!

Went to work yesterday to do some financials....and now the kids are here, so I've been busy.

We went to the park this morning, then down to the creek to catch crayfish.

Gotta go mow, then the kids are going to get under the sprinkler.

See ya later!

Good afternoon my eagle budlets.

I started back at PT this morning. Had to go through the assessment again. It has been almost 4 weeks since my fall. I have to start back slowly because of my knee. They did my range of motion measurements on my knees this morning and the left knee was 0-123 degrees and my right knee (the injured one) was 5-93 degrees. Quite limited. I am going to an orthopedic doctor next week to have him check my knee. I am not sure that I didn't damage something in it. More will be revealed.

I LOVE US!
