Thank you ever so much, Steve !!!!

Yep, TGIF and RED FRIDAY, too !!!!

I've called the others over......

Kay said...

Thanks for the welcome back's Eagle Buds !

Pretty slow here now, but have collected the prayer requests and will act on those.

Hot n' humid here so Penny and I are lying low !

There are so many people I'm now missing in reading back over yesterday's comments. Won't name them all, but do especially wonder where LINDA, WANDA and DANAMO have disappeared to. I worry that I've missed some key news since I've been away so much over the last couple of months.

No travel plans now that the grads have all been honored, so will try to check in every day or so !

Love y'all !

grannyblt said...

Well Kay, I guess you beat me to it.

Back from store and missed rain--actually partly sunny right now.

Sorry I forgot to wish CarolAnne a Happy Birthday.

Kay, Dana is off having a good time at the beach for a couple of weeks according to Facebook.
Wanda is still kicking too because I see posts from her on Facebook. I think she is having computer problems.

Thanks for the fresh thread Steve!

Kay you are the recipient of a feather for being #1 ♥

Not to worry about Dana - she is being a beach bum and having a blast.
Wanda is well but her computer isn't.
As for Linda - our Momster keeps having bear visitors in her back yard! (She is on FB along with Wanda and Dana)

JudyEddy said...

HELLO just got home and see a adult in the nest Looks like a white head

Sandi said...

Home from the beach to find a new thread - thanks, Steve and thanks to Kay for the call over!

Waves were HUGE today - Madeline and Michael found out the hard way that the Atlantic can be tough! Only lifeguards went out in the surf today!

I see an eagle in the tree but with the glare from the sun, I can't tell if it's an adult or a juvie!

Happy birthday Carol Anne!! Sorry I had to be reminded by Jo!

Need to hop in the outside shower while it's free. Tennis was good this morning but my legs are tired and I still have to play tomorrow morning before I get a break. I'm beginning to think 2 days in a row is ideal, not 3!

Later!

Hi, Everyone,

Emma and I are laying low in the heat here today. 88 here at the moment. Ugh. Got all my plants watered earlier while it was cooler.

I got a reply from my doctor, and she will write a letter to excuse me from jury duty! I need to go pick up the letter in person, though, because it needs her signature, and can't be e-mailed.
Just glad to know I don't have to go do the jury duty thing this time.

Ms Bookworm said...

JudyE, happy to hear that your roof is repaired!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CarolAnne! Hope your day is spectacular!!!

OK, I need to go get a cool shower. Will try to make it back here later tonight after dinner.
Have a great Red Friday!!!

CarolAnne said...

Hot weather hint: If you don't have central air, but you do have a basement often the basement is much cooler. Place a large fan, set on high, at the bottom of the steps and blow the cool air up. We can keep our house at 71° even when the temps are in the 80's and the humidity is high. We also have ceiling fans on low & close curtains & windows on the sunny side.

Think cool thoughts, stay safe.

Good afternoon eagle watchers. Just got on the desktop pc to check on Comcast email and thought I'd check the cam. Didn't see anything but leaves blowing in the wind. Must say every time I've checked the cam I haven't seen a bird anywhere. Guess my timing is off; way off.

♫Happy Birthday, CarolAnne!♫ Hope it's been a great one.

Andy, stay as cool as you can. Don't you have a/c? Always thought the weather on the west coast to be more mild (moderate) than here. Guess things have changed meteorologically/climatically.
(?sp) I'm ready to head north. Hoda seems to be having better, at least cooler, weather. watch for me, Hoda. :-)

Watching the sky for changing weather and hope everyone stays safe.

Back to the iPad and shutting this one down just in case.

See Kay got the feather today and Dana is back.
At Chelsea today, saw some New Kids on the block. Put their pics in the Nook!!
Saw at least 1/2 dozen bucks in front of bldg. as I drove in, but they scattered as I tried to sneak around corner w/camera!Love those fat antler stubs.
Well, it may be raining tears in central TX.Call came in today that a contractor in charge of several jobs on the kids' new house has declared bankruptcy! Most of house is done, but this person who got the money up front, has not paid all the different companies!! They were already contacted by the underground lawn sprinkler person that they owe HIM!!!! Kids have contacted good lawyer, but can't speak until Monday. Always something. I hope TX laws will favor kids, but who knows??How can you possibly have to pay twice????

Howdy all! Can not believe I have been on the blog all day. We had a great morning working in the yard. We got started about 8 and when we finished mowing 2 hours later it was 83 and cloudy. Great! Then I was doing some more yard work but it go hot fast. Still not 100 at Hawkwood, but very close to it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROLANNE!! HOPE YOU HAVE HAD A FANTASTIC DAY!

Loweeeeeeda, so very sorry about your kids having more problems. They are probably out the money unless he was bonded. What a rotten deal!!!

Janet said...

first off; HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROLANNE!!!!

whew, what a day. ! work was good. i had my massage late this afternoon and it was wonderful. i dozed off the first hour and woke up the 2nd. :)

pool people were on the way when i was heading home. they had had 2 tires blow out ( i saw them myself!), so they arrived about 6.

they set up quickly and got to digging with a bobcat....and 11" into the dig they hit bedrock. and it wasn't going anywhere. sooooo, we have pool equipment.....we have a dug out area, lots of dirt and rock....

we need 25 TONS of limestone gravel brought in. our neighbor to the rescue once again, he will deliver that in the morning.......don't ask the price, okay, i'll tell you, $25 a ton. yeah, you figure it up. anyway, so once the rock is delivered, then we are to call the head person of the crew and they will possibly be able to head back out tomorrow. said once they are here, it iwll take about 2 hours to complete the job.

egad. what an adventure!
i took some pix today.

other than that, not much else going on. I am tired so i foresee bedtime in the near future!

good night to all!

Lowreeda, very sorry about the home building problems. Wonder if any legal recourse is possible? Will certainly send a prayer that all will be resolved in a positive way and quickly.

I'll try to catch up someday. Patio people showed up, unscheduled, to repair the "sinking stones." So much going on. Too old for all of this.

Sandperson is hitching up his satchel of sleepy dust and will be departing momentarily.

Good rainy Saturday morning my eagle friends! I see a juvie high up in the tree.

Loretta, what awful news about your daughter and son-in-law and their contractor! So sorry for them - hope there is a resolution that allows their house to be completed.

Janet, glad there was a solution the pool glitch! Good thing you didn't want an in-ground pool - you'd be spending a lot more than $625 if someone had to blast through bedrock!

Lolly, enjoy family time at Hawkwood this weekend!

Judie, when do your guests arrive?

Hoda, it sounds like your sister is doing very well after her surgery - amazing! Prayers continue for her.

Paula, sounds like the bathroom is just about finished - yay! Don't work too much during your time at the beach!

Not sure that tennis will happen today. I'm playing on clay courts so they drain quickly - will have to wait and see what time the rain stops. It looks like it rained pretty steady through the night but I didn't hear a thing!

Have a great day all!

Sandi, sorry about the rainy morning. Hope you can play some tennis. Sunshine and blue sky here. The "intruders" arrive late afternoon Monday.

Hoda, thinking of your sister and hoping she continues to do well.

Sandi mentions a glitch for Janet's pool installation. Hope whatever is is/was is fixed and soon.

Lolly, have fun with the family this weekend.

Looks as if Mema Jo has returned. Hi Jo!

Oh, on the Lily updates, it seems that the DNR has decided to not renew the bear center's permits.

Okay, off to finish my coffee while waiting for the patio workers to arrive. Got rained out late yesterday afternoon. Then to the farmer's market to see what I can find for next week.

good morning ya'll.

1/2 of the rock arrived a few min ago, that would be 13 tons of rock. another 13 tons on the way.

SANDI, LORI, PA NANA, and others.....(whom I may have missed)...yes glad there was an answer. as i have said, all of TN is rock so we weren't shocked....

but no, won't be swimming tomorrow. tomorrow the electrician will be out to run the electric. THEN the inspector (city) has to come out, maybe Monday/Tuesday to okay everything.....the pool is installed per the city codes, the electric was run per code, we have permits, THEN when he /she say a-okay...we can fill it up completely and run the pump. AT THAT POINT.....we have to add the salt and this other bucket of stuff and the pool is supposed to turn SMURF blue....and then 24 hours later we can get in...so maybe thursday?????????????

another pretty day on tap. i will have my youngest granddaughter this afternoon while chelsea takes the older kids to see the new movie. i don't do movies except at home. $$ as well as they are really LOUD. so olivia goes with chelsea...

oh...forgot to share; OLIVIA jumped up two levels in ice skating! she is now a freestyle 3. (there are ten levels in freestyle, at least at this school).... and this coming month, July she will be skating for 1 year.

and, my oldest, chelsea, and her family were at the water park yesterday and made a mistake.....that is didn't get a locker and someone stole my son in law's wallet. so they spent last night canceling credit cards, bank cards, etc.....as well as contacting police and the credit bureaus. stinky!

all right, will check in later. hope everyone has a lovely saturday! light, love, and hugs!

Lolly said...

Good morning! Oh, Janet...that just stinks! Having to cancel everything is such a pain and it is such a terrible feeling knowing someone has your "stuff". Guess they have his drivers license as well, his ID.

Laurel and Joseph are doing yard work this morning and then coming here. I think I am going to suggest we go see a movie. Boys would like that! Monster Univ.

We were supposed to leave for Georgia on the 5th, but now do not know. Jack is doing some consulting for NASA and has as 2-3 day trip coming up. Right now it is scheduled for this coming Sunday. There goes the trip, unless we go without him and we may. Laurel and I can take turns driving. Then again, his trip may be delayed. Can I ask for prayers for his trip to be delayed? LOL

No yard work today. Going to cook instead. Going to make a new recipe for Southern Bread Pudding with a Praline Sauce. Was going to make a Rum Sauce, but sadly, no rum.

Jack is grilling ribs tonight, the boys favorite.

This weekend Canada is 146 years old. July 1st we celebrate Canada Day and many activities are planned here.

My SISTER is being taken off pain medication and today she is having a rough time. Medically she is doing really well and she continues to walk and to sit in a chair for various periods of time...yet today is rough...Thank you for your prayers.

JANET big adventure indeed with the pool installation. Sorry about SIL wallet being stolen.

LOLLY praying for JACK's trip to be delayed. Of course you and LAUREL can do it on your own but it is always a good thing to think of you and JACK travelling together...somehow it feels all your moving around is safer...PRAYING.

Checking in.

Hoda, sorry your sister is having pain/discomfort but the body does not like to be invaded. Walking and sitting up are very good signs. Also very happy you had a lovely day on the River. Happy Canada Day on its 146th birthday.

Jo, like Margy, I thought Michael was to be in Haiti a full month. Well, welcome home to Miracle Michael.

Sandy, my apology. I had forgotten about your son's departure for Yemen. Keep us posted.

Shirley, did you say a family sort of adopted Pepsi? Please don't tell us the family plans to leave the cat on its own when they move.

Margy, Cold Case is still a favorite. By-the-way, your one-handed typing is very impressive. How's Lorraine doing?

Kay, glad Seth has his schedule for two semesters. GDub students somehow seem to always be in a panic trying to get classes both needed and wanted.

JudyE, hope the house is one that is worthy of an offer. Would be nice to have her/Jordan close by.

Janet, stolen personal items are so much concern and trouble. So sorry. BUT, so happy the pool is coming along.

Andy, very happy to know that Emma is feeling better. I was worried about her.

Okay, tried to get caught up and have exceeded your tolerance levels. Have more to accomplish but my body finally is telling me to slow down for today. Did get to the farmer's market.

Home from tennis and then the grocery store. What a zoo the store was!!! Yikes! As much as I dislike the summer crowds, it's this income that keeps our little town going for the other 9 months, so I'll take it! And 7 years ago, I was one of the tourists - hard to believe we have lived here for 7 years!

I see a juvie high up in the tree!

Hoda & Judie, Brian will not be going to Yemen til September. Tomorrow, he and his wife and their 2 dogs will be arriving for a week, so I am just focused on them being here, not there! I'll worry about Yemen when I have to!

Off for a bike ride - later!

Janet said...

hey all. lorelei is asleep and thought i'd pop in.

rock is here, but installers are not. said they would try.....so although hope is waning, i am still hoping. just so we can stay on track with our timing....but i cannot control it....

GOOD NEWS however, when chelsea and chris dropped lorelei off, the wallet was found! it had NOT been stolen. he had stowed it deep in the pocket of the diaper bag....so they did everything for precaution, of course, and thankful it was all uncecessary!

JUDYE: hope Angie finds a house that she likes....

HODA: hope your sister continues to do well.

Not a lot else going on. Just kind of hanging out. Kids are coming back after the movie and we will grill and chill.....

My gal pals from VA BEACH will be here on Friday. Haven't seen them since Aug when we flew out there ... love it when they visit!

Okay, later ya'll.

On Pepsi--he went to stay with Carla's mother until the family came back home. They brought him back here when they returned. As far as I know, he will go to Tennessee when they move.

Pepsi temporarily stayed
at a cat rescue center, but he decided he did not like living with so many other cats, so Carla moved him to her mother's home.

Yes pretty wonderful that the juvies are still making an appearance and they seem strong enough and healthy enough to be taking to wing and learning the survival skills. Lwssons must be coming to an end and I wish them well.

Is this the normal colour of the sky when you all were there? Is itaffected by a filter? Turquoise is breath taking.

Hoda said...

Wingercise and yet he/she do not take off.

A bit of a rough day in my life today.
My sister continues to not be comfortable.
Demonstrations in Egypt are bringing out the worst in people. The US citizen that was killed came from Maryland and was working for an NGO and teaching English and learning Arabic. Young chap...so so so sad...and many more are hurt and or in critical condition...

Hoda said...

So with the rough, I packed myself a picnic lunch and after I rode my bicycle I meditated in the park...so beautiful there and I ate my lunch and ran errands. Being in the company of the birds made me feel really good about being alive.
I know gratitude.

Hoda said...

Well folks I pormise I won't keep doing this this weekend...this is the last time! Here goes: 7 dead in Egypt 600+ wounded and that is only from today and the demonstrations for the 30th have not happened yet...This is what I think with all due respect. I wished the US Embassy had been closed down prior to now. The US Marines have deployed, yet if the mobs turn ugly I pray for those Marines and all whom they will try to protect.Twitter just announced that the Internet will be shut down for 24 hours! The gov't has also closed down three TV stations that are very popular with the people. God keep the US Embassy its Staff and the US Marines in Egypt safe.

Thank you JO...

Good Evening!

Gee, I actually made it back here tonight! It's been pretty nasty hot here today. It is still 85 in my kitchen! I went ahead and made a big batch of brown rice for Emma, though--absolutely had to.

Had a nice lunch with Sis-in-law.
Stopped at a strawberry stand on the way home and got some heirloom tomatoes--real beauties!

Have spent most of the day just vegging and doing as little as possible. Got up to about 92 or 93 here, with high humidity. The weather here has changed so much!
When I was a kid, there was never any humidity. Now even the high desert gets sticky hot at times.
Global warming? Don't know.

Well, a face plant is not far away, so guess Judie's Sandperson has made it to the west coast. I've made sure that the porch light is on, and both security systems are enabled. Have SED!
Goodnight, and God bless. I love all of you!

Good Sunday morning on the very last day of June my eagle friends!

Hoda, prayers for a better day for your American sister today, for safety for your family in Egypt today, and for some relief from the stress of your worrying about all of them.

Welcome home Miracle Michael!

No tennis for me this morning - giving my body a 1-day break. Hoping to take the kids out tubing on the boat this afternoon. Brian and Lynnis and dogs arrive this afternoon or evening. We will have 8 adults, 2 kids, and 5 dogs here in the house all week! Pray for no rainy days, please!

Have a great day all!

Good morning eagle family!!!

We got rained out at the game last night when a thunderstorm rolled through in the 8th inning, just decided to come home instead of waiting it out. Amazing how quick they cover the field to keep it from getting muddy.

HODA, how nice you made a picnic for yourself! I love that! Prayers for your sister after her surgery, and for your family in Egypt...yes, our military and government workers there, too. I hope you can meditate the stress away again today.

SANDI, boy, you will have a house full of humans and furbabies! I hope you all have a great time and will wish for no rain for you.

JUDYE, what a nice dilemma, having to take all that vacation time! Enjoy!

JUDIE, when do your strangers arrive? :)

We have a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 today and heavy rain expected tonight. Stay dry everyone - except LOLLY!

PAULA, hope you finish the bathroom today. Bet it looks great!

Hoda...keeping your family in prayer. Scary time in Egypt.

Went to church this morning and right after lunch Laurel and I took the boys to the movies and saw Monster University. When Joseph was just a little guy Monsters Inc. was his favorite movie. Hope everyone is doing okay.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hoda, have been keeping your family in Egypt in prayer today, as always. Quite a situation over there!

Welcome home to Miracle Michael!

Thank GOD it's much cooler here this evening! I think it only got up to the low-to-mid 80s today, though they predicted something in the 90s! Humidity is still high, but it feels much better than it had been!

Have been searching online for a vacuum repair place nearby. We have had a Dyson for, I think, 13 years, and the belt on it has given out. Should be easy to fix.

We have been eating salads since it's SO hot. Nothing else looks or sounds good. Emma is eating very well, with no problems, and loves her special diet. (Very happy to report that!)

Seriously thinking of buying a new printer. The only local place that has had ink cartridges for it in the past, now says they no longer carry them. Need a printer that works quickly printing 95% of the time in black & white, with cheap ink cartridges. Any recommendations? Don't want to spend a whole lot. Have to get color AND black inks for the old printer. Cost would probably pay for 1/2 of a new printer!
