Dern it, Diann...
wish, hope, and pray that relief
comes for you pronto...

I slipped through the split...
thought I should mention...

the doctor had said I could
drive "within a few days"...
I waited six days, made a couple of local drives Thurs and Sat...
I knew putting myself and especially anyone else at risk
would be unacceptable; I was able
to have two hands on the wheel
and the wrist was protected....

Thanks again, for helping with my healing, friends, with your thoughts, words, prayers, and cards
xo
G'night...xo

Checked in to report on the firefighters in Arizona--CNN is now saying that 19 firefighters were killed in that fire. Tragic.

Good Monday morning my eagle friends! Just saw a parent fly into the nest, followed immediately by a juvie. Parent flew right back out - musta been a breakfast delivery. Juvie is still in the nest, presumably chowing down.

Hoda, hoping and praying that your family in Egypt is safe and your American sister is feeling a little better and stronger each day.

Judie, good luck with the garbage disposal and the houseguests!

Andy, glad to hear it cooled off a little for you and that Emma is feeling better.

Margy, congrats on the driving - sounds like the hand is healing well!

Paula, after the bathroom project is finished, is it relax time for the rest of your vacation?

Brian, Lynnis, and their 2 dogs arrived last night - yay! Talk about a full house!

Tennis at 8am for me, weather permitting. Showers are in the forecast for today and tomorrow. Have a good day all!

MONDAY!

HODA: 99 is very very hot. thankfully temps have moderated a little here, its been upper 80's and low 90's. last year this time we were over 100.

speaking of heat, i found something that i love. the product name is frogg toggs and it is a chilly pad. you can get them it seems almost any where there are runners gear and they are about $15.

basically, you take the towel, get it wet, wring it out so it is not dripping and within 5 min it is cold. it stays cold. as it evaporates, whatever that material is, feels cold. i love it. i am using it at work between clients. it doesn't get my uniform wet and i can cool down! i just hang it on my hook where i normally hang my towel to dry my hands.

i used it this weekend in the yard as i worked aroudn here. i laughed, linus had his blanket, and now i have mine....

and btw, unless i am very much mistaken; HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGPIE!

POOL UPDATE: yesterday the electrician came out and did what he could, which was actually a lot, without the pool being here. we are having two sets of switches installed, one at ground level, one at the upper house level. one is for a flood light which we can switch off and on and one is for the pump. (i didn't explain that well- two electrical boxes, one low, one high with two switches on each, one for the pump and one for the flood lights)

today, supposedly the pool installers will be here, but i also see a 50% chance of rain....so i am not holding my breath. i think they will try, but obviously if it is raining, not sure how much they can accomplish.

i got a lot done yesterday. tom and i moved stuff for the electrician early....then i spent a couple of hours cleaning the house (gal pals will be here friday, so its stripping beds, washing etc).....then i went out and did a little yard work, trimmed back the crepe myrtles. i saved several branches to use in my potential baskets. i have material now......NOW to make time to make them! :/

all right, time to get ready for work. hope every one has a lovely day. will check in later! light, love, hugs and smiles, holding each of you in my heart for healing, comfort, and that which speaks for your highest and greatest good...

Wishing everyone the best day possible. Rain here. Rain predicted for the week. Not good for keeping "intruders" busy.

Darth repaired the disposal.

Hoda, keeping your family in Egypt in my thoughts and prayers.

Need to find some coffee, shower, then go foraging for grosseries.

HODA, prayers for Egypt and your sister. Hope you get a cooler day today!

JANET, hoping that the installers get to your house and make some progress on the pool!

JUDIE, enjoy your day of peace before the house guests get there.

JO, so happy for you that Michael is home safely!

Getting ready to go to the dentist to get impressions for the retainer to use after my tooth is pulled next week. UGH!

LOLLY, glad you had such a nice time with Laurel and family. I'm not a big fan of cartoons, so glad you liked the movie!

Good afternoon my eagle budlets. Just wanted to check in and let everyone know I am still amongst the living. This is my third day without pain meds and Tylenol is taking care of the pain pretty good. Still walking with a limp and foot and knee are still quite sore. The wounds are healing slowly but healing nonetheless. I love and miss everyone!

Happy Canada Day too to all my friends south of the 49th parallel.

Good day at the park. I went to thank all the service people and shake hands to the honour guard.
We sang O Canada. Had cake, they has an humongous cake with a Canadian Flag. Boat races canoes and sand castle building going on right now. I rode the tramway to get out of the sun and then decided to ride my bike home...

It is so hot here that they are telling us how to make our own electrolites...drinking water alone is not what is needed...stay away from cafeine too they tell us and be moderate in the intake of alcohol even though it is Canada Day and I am afraind people always do it...the service people are on duty today mixing and mingling in the parks around Nelson...

Hoda said...

Thank you for your wishes for my sister.
Her primary tumour is totally gone. She is healing nicely and is taking icecream and cold drinks. She walks four times a day and insists on sitting in a chair when she is not in bed taking a nap. Her pain medication is being cut and she seems to be adjusting with it all. She is asking for a list of good books to read and wants to be a bit more involved, even though they want to keep her in the hospital for five more days...She is listening to music too.

Egypt...the army has given the politicians an ultimatum to settle this issue in 48 hours or else they, the army, will set up their own road plan. There is confusion as the people are saying that the Moslem Brotherhood President has been ousted. Yet what I red in Arabic and in English and in French the Military Statement does NOT say that...I think it is a very dangerous situation. The Army has closed the Egyptian Border with the Sinai and have deployed over there.

There are also 400 AME$ICAN MARINES in the area. They are there to protect the US Embassy. I am afraid the US Ambassador is not very popular with the people at this point as she is seen to have taken the side of the Moslem Brotherhood. COmplex situation.

There is a tape circulating on utube of the Benghazi attack on the US Embassy and in it in Arabic it is clearly heard one of the attackers telling the others not to shoot at him " I was sent by Dr. Morsi..." I heard it as clear as clear can be and shamefully so an Egyptian accent to boot!!! I am sad that an Egyptian President would have medled in this situation. Yet it is all The Moslem Brotherhood that messed about in Lybia too.

My sister is so happy she thinks they will be out in 48 hours and I disagree...the situation and my reading of things makes it very dangerous.

It ain't over till the fat lady sings and I am afraid the fat lady is not any where close to singing.
