Good afternoon/early evening to all!
its been a busy day. we went to the hunter's car show down at the fair grounds. it was pretty nice; not the biggest we have seen, but overall, we got out and enjoyed. not real crowded either? maybe it was just early.
had lunch at o charleys...they have a lovely black and bleu salad....romaine with steak, grape tomatoes, bleu cheese, a few croutons and nice ceasar dressing, heavy on the anchovies today! yummmmm my appetite is slowling coming back, but i had a half salad and could not finish it all. of course the soft roll and a couple of cheese wedges might have something to do with that, lol.
we worked in the yard some....tom planted the mimosa tree we have been babying fora couple of years now...and we put some more weed block and white rocks in the flower bed. almost done now, about 3/4 of the way. another 20 bags should finish that one up. it sure looks nice with that white marble.
grandkids will be here shortly. mom and dad are goign to a predators' hockey game. they won't be spending the night, however. i'm still on that cough syrup with codiene in it at night to fight the cough and it just knocks me out too hard. if one of the kids needed me i might not be able to respond.

In the NCTC nest I did not hear a splash or any other sound except a take off when camera shook.

wow been a while since I opened a can of bean and bacon soup not the same color as it use to be more of a navy bean color I though it use to be darker in color a sort of tan orange sort of not the color it is now Maybe they took some dye out of it who knows I thought odd so I opened another can and both are the same so now I have to cans open Silly me better be safe that sorry didn't want bad bean soup LOL

We are home! What a day!! The game was very exciting. The Terry team got behind by 13 points and it really looked like the other team was going to stomp them. Then after halftime Terry made a come back, the score ran very close, then Terry went ahead and WON!!! It was awesome! Really kind of unexpected. Terry has never been to the playoffs. The other team has been 10 times, and won the last two years. They were probably stunned and wonder what hit them.
We waited around for the team to exit the dressing room. Took lots of pictures then 13 of us went to dinner. We were hungry!!
Drive home we watched the weather radar. The storms were approaching. Saw a awesom lightening show and then it poured. We are safely home and have had over an inch of rain here at the house. Yes, I could say it has been a good day!

Hoping to hear there are still 3 chicks at BWE. Once the nest became covered in fur or feathers, I never did get a clear glimpse of the littlest one.
Prayers for continued healing for Dana's dad and Lori's dad, and for Sharon and Andy that they get some relief from their aches and pains.
Tennis for me at 9am. Then grocery store since we didn't get there yesterday. And I would love to get to the local eagle nest to see if there is any action there.

Good Morning...
Have been terribly sick with this cold,strep or whatever it is...
Doctor on Friday said the throat looked very inflamed, red and an antibiotic was definitely needed. He said he didn't need to do any strep tests.
Friday night I was up most of the night again.
Still, this sore throat lingers. I got a humidifier yesterday in the hopes that I could sleep. My nasal passages and throat are dry and raw.
I did finally sleep a couple hours yesterday afternoon and slept last night as well.
I am hoping today will be a turn around day with this darn thing.

BWE is still stuck and hoping for a good outcome for #3.
Linda, sorry you've been so sick. Honey tea for you and try some vasoline on a q-tip up your nostrils for some relief.
Did another eagle survey yesterday on the Bluestone River. Our site saw 4 juvie balds, one adult bald and 1 golden. We had soooooo many TVs and one BV pair that played for us. Fluttering around each other doing aerials. It was a beautiful day. We had about 40 or so out at five locations. Also, stopped at Brooks Overlook and observed that pair of eagles twice... going to and returning from Bluestone. Saw one on the nest with two eggs and other adult perched in a nearby sycamore. Just lovely.

When we got to the pier where we sit to watch the nest, we didn't see anything so we decided to walk along the shore to a point where a fellow teacher told me there is another nest. When we got to the point, I heard eagle calls - behind me - back where the first nest was!
Hurried back to the nest and, sure enough, there was a big, beautiful bald eagle standing on the side of the nest. It took off shortly after we got back to the pier. We waited another 20 minutes to see if it would return but it didn't. I'm wondering now if it was a parent switch and we just couldn't see the parent in the nest?
So that tells me the nest is active and makes me think there are either eggs or small chicks in it. We'll go back again next weekend.
I see the BWE chicks enjoying the sunshine. Not as warm as I thought it was supposed to get today, at least not right on the water where we were.

LYNNE1 I sort of got the same message about a week ago and they said I had a virus and I could download McGafee or what ever it was security I think just a scam also I did report it to facebook They had locked me out of FB till I ran the scan and off course I uninstalled it after

Right Judy. I assumed #3 had been covered. When Pa came in, he stood around the nest a little bit and then went at the nest floor at around 5:30 and dug a hole. I swear he dug in there to see. Hadn't seen that before. See the hole when he stands up.
