Monday Update

The Wednesday date was a little premature.  Here's is the projection from the tech folks:

"The new eagle camera install went well last Wednesday. I will be working with Ryan to clear up a vine that has wrapped around the signal antenna. Todd & I will be installing the new wire harness into the protective tubing sometime T-Thr. If all goes well the camera should be up by Monday."

Do be careful SHAR. NO FALLING RULE applies to the young ones too you know!!!

Sorry BANDIT was not well last night SANDI.

DANA I hope the Christmas activities with the kids went well today.

NO BABY YET JANET. Thinking of you and family.

I live in a crazy town!!!
Today I saw a car with rudolph nose and antlers.
I saw Santa and his elves they were handing out gluten free and sugar free cookies and candy canes. Also free hugs.
There were street singers on three corners all singing and dancing and being very cheerful.
I came home smiling and feeling very uplifted.

Very good yoga practice today and a sense of joy in the classroom with over 15 people there today.

Hoda said...

Santa and the elves will be here every day till Christmas...they even come into coffee shops to hand out candy canes and cookies...what JOY.

I also got two HUGE envelopes from the CANADIAN GOVERNMENT. They want me to apply for my old age pension and old age security cheques. I think they are too early. How do I argue with the government I wonder? It makes me a bit nervous. So I will have to make an appointment to go see them and explain why I think they are wrong and that I have to apply in June not December...a bit of a daunting task for me...I think it comes from being brought up in Egypt where government makes me nervous.
I am sure they will understand my point of view and agree that I do not have to apply before June. I will try to find a way to not tell them that I think they made a mistake. I do not think they like being told that!!! Yet I do not want to take money that is not mine for six months!!!God Bless them they are overworked and tired probably.

Janet congratulations and wish the Mom and Baby a safe and healthy coming delivery.

I phoned SHAR as I was not settled that she did not give anymore news about falling. She slipped and fell on her lower back first and then upper back. Hurt her wrists and arms hurt but she is pretty sure nothing is broken. She is determined to go to the Train Concert and I do not think anyone can stop her. She will be with family and I reminded her about the NO FALLING RULE and she said for next time and I said there will not be a next time we home.
She sounded very well.

I am worried about PAULA as she has not posted for a while now and I think it is too late there to phone her now. I hope we hear from her soon.

HODA, I don't recall seeing any comments from PAULA on facebook, or here. Last I heard was she had a very sore throat...she and Carolyn, also. We may need to send her over some hot chicken soup! Hope she is just busy and not in bed, sick!

Got GG's do done today and she looks wonderful. It is such a battle getting her through the Mall in her wheelie walker, so we used my Dad's wheel chair today and that was so much easier. Even using her walker makes her so short of breath that it scares me. I took her through JCPenny's and let her look around for a while...she liked that. May be more shopping in her future, using the wheel chair...didn't think she would agree to use it, but it was no problem today:)

Good night dear friends, sleep well...sending my love and prayers to all♥

Momma Jo, you will be in my prayers as well as all of ours.

House inpection came back on Mom's house. Seems many things are in need of replacement and repair. Hard to say yet how much we are going to have to fork out. We may end up having to bring the price down by the amount of repair . ONly a few things have been brought up by the buyer that they are worried with. The home is due to have the appraisel on Monday.

Good Morning Eagle Buds !

Started my daily puter time here and think I've caught up.

JANET, still praying for an easy delivery once Chelsea's baby decides to exit that cozy womb !

WANDA, shed a tear upon viewing dear baby Brantley's unique and absolutely adorable headstone. Thank you for sharing it. So glad GG gave in easily to using the wheelchair. Hope it helps her get out more often !

SHAR, isn't that HODA one terrific gal though ? She's called many of us in our hour of need ! So happy to hear the TRAIN trip is still on and that you are not seriously injured !

HODA, your sighting of a car with Rudolph nose and antlers put a big grin on my face !

JO, praying for you daily, but extra hard on the treatment days ! What a joy it is to hear about Michael and his brother getting out and about ! So sorry to hear about Crybaby. I guess we can say Michael represents the good, your DAMN spot the bad and the loss of that dear cat, the ugly. God and your steadfast faith will see your precious family through it all.

JEWELS, your Christmas decor sounds beautiful ! I know LYNN is keeping watch over the whole family and this blog family, too ! Good luck with the house inspection and repairs--been there, done that and I know it's a hassle, but it'll come out okay in the end ! Your Mom was concerned about her property being devalued due to that horribly messy family next door. Hope that hasn't been the case !

Hope PAULA and GLO are getting over their bugs by now. One needs so much energy at this time of the year !

LORI wants to know how my pretty Penny got along with Malcolm. He was obviously a bit stunned by her presence, but was eager to make friends. She on the other hand was a bit snarky as if to establish the fact that she's small, but mighty and that she already feels this is her territory. His toys have become hers and she's reluctant to share ! ☺ The next morning we met at the park and after a few minutes of greeting unleashed both dogs. A good move and they had a good time with each other. Later in the day Julie left Malcolm with me for about an hour. He and Penny had a couple of rows, but by the end of the hour I was sitting in the middle of my sofa with a happily sleeping dog on each side of me ! It was then dinner time and they both chowed down a helping of SANDI's homemade dog food before we took off for the dog park. I was a bit shaky about turning my Penny, the smallest dog there, loose, but she held her own and was the star of the evening with the other dog owners. Malcolm runs with the big dogs, but checked on her several times, so cute. He has finally stopped objecting to seeing Julie or me petting or holding her. It's all good and I'm confident these two are going to be able to live in the same household when necessary. Thanks to all of you who've been interested in my dog tales ! ☺

So that's my novel for the day. Prayers and love for all ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Lolly said...

Good morning! Love your dog novel, Kay. What a beautiful picture I have of you sitting with a dog asleep on both sides of you! Cool!

Today, I run a couple more errands, just have one small stocking gift to buy, need to go to the post office , and the car wash. Then it is cook this afternoon and then party this evening. Think I can handle this!

The picture I posted on fb...the one with my friends, I want you to know those are my dearest friends! We have gone to church together for close to 40 years. We have raised our kids together and grown older together! They helped me celebrate my 40th, 50th, and 60th birthdays in grand style and I have been there for theirs! We have been blessed!! Yesterday a lot of stories were remembered and a lot of laughter shared! Annie the one in the middle right behind me is in a wheel chair now. She lives near Houston now with her sister, but comes here several times a year and lives for weeks with Mary. She appreciates living with her sister, but misses us. She is a little person and one of my dearest friends.

There was an eagle at BWO a minute ago, might still be.

Phoebe is nearing the end of construction of an all new nest. She will probably be laying a couple before long.

We are getting some rain in the coastal areas and some snow in the mountains here in So Cal...from a Mexican storm system. You might see some of it in 3 days or so back there.

Have a happy. I'm looking forward to the new cams and the new season.

Home from running errands and saying a prayer for Isaac.

Before I ran errands I started a new recipe for candy. You make it in a crock pot, about to take it out...we shall see. Changed the recipe a bit as it calls for peanuts but I used raisens instead. Chocolate covered raisens is Jack's favorite! But, I want you all to know...Jack was very enthusiastic for me to make this, but he gives me a hard time when I make my favorite. He says I do not need it. Well, I will show him....I plan to make it. Have not made my favorite burnt sugar candy in 6 1/2 years! I was also my mother's favorite and I made it for her every year.

We installed our new pan/zoom camera today at the Eagle Cam nest. In the photo you can see the Eagle Cam nest tree on top and on the bottom the view from the TV monitor on the ground showing the cam feed once the cam was mounted in the tree. We still have some work to do in getting our PC set up so it can capture/upload images to the Net from the new camera, so keep your fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly. The new camera does have infrared, so if everything goes well, we'll still have our night view.

good morning.

thank you all for the congrats and sweet comments.

i am so glad this pregnancy has ended for chels. the last week, as you know, she was pretty miserable. and although yesterday i ran on adrenaline and five hour energy drinks...(chris and i both)....the last week has been exhausting for all of us. just the any moment syndrome....so when i hit that bed last night, it was a fast and deep sleep.

wish i could afford to take today off...but work has been rather slow, so i can do five hours, then go take care of my private client. he is leaving town next week (Florida for the holidays) so i won't see him til after the new year. i can do this.

if chelsea does not go home today the grandkids may spend another night ... as chris would like to stay overnight at the hospital with chelsea and lorelei. if they do, everyone, it will be an early night around here. old moogie is TIRED. lol.

good news about issac and i'm sure michael is just progressing and glad to be home.....thinking about each of you, your lives and loved ones.

A shooting at an elementary school this morning. Oh, my goodness.

Costume Lady said...

They are saying 27 dead and a lot of them are grade school children. Dear Lord, what is happening to our country? Lord, bless the family members who have to deal with this tragedy...5 to 10 year old children:(

stronghunter said...

Terrible news out of Connecticut. They keep wondering how a shooter could get into an elementary school because of the security, but the security desk is probably manned by a teacher or a secretary. Not a match for someone with a gun.

I sometimes manned the security desk at school. I could not deal with an armed person.

stronghunter said...

Children have been seen running away from the school without any adults.

stronghunter said...

Officers are searching the woods. I think they might find children hiding there.

JudyEddy said...

Now they are saying 18 are children so sad My heart goes out to the family poor people

Costume Lady said...

They are saying 18 children are among the dead and 9 adults (teachers & principal).

Watching CNN here. Cannot help but think of Hunter at his school. We have to hope that our children are safe, but you do not know what each day might bring.

JudyEddy said...

They think its a entire Kindergarten class OMG It makes me want to go get Jordyn and hug her

JudyEddy said...

a second shooter

glo said...

Well my happy day has turned so very very sad. Oh our family will celebrate its blessings but how do you even begin to process such terrible news. Those poor poor kids who are running and hiding. Who heard and saw. Those families whose kids are gone now. WHY I so do not understand this at all.

Costume Lady said...

One shooter dead and another suspect, dressed in camo, in a police car...told onlookers, "he didn't do it".

Costume Lady said...

Shooter opened fire in the principal's office, shot and killed him. Them went into a kindergarten class and opened fire killing many students~

stronghunter said...

Conflicting reports still coming out.

Costume Lady said...

After a search of the shooter's home, a body was found...don't know who it is~
They are also saying it may have been an adult who confronted the school principal. Probably a lot of other information will come to light by tonight or tomorrow.

stronghunter said...

It seems the shooter's mother was a teacher at the school and he killed her and HER students...don't know why, yet.

I just said good bye to daughter and hubby - they were here visiting with Michael. Talking away to each other -
Michael is doing so very well getting back into the swing of things - The groups are doing so much for him. He
has Mon appointment at UMMC with the
neurosurgeon. They have been checking him monthly.

Sandi - excitement galore - I'm sure your heart is skipping.

News - we will never ever know real reason for these actions that have occurred. Heartbreaking for sure.

Glo - don't dwell over this - say a prayer for all involved and then get to your family with your cookies. ♥

I got a hug from Hunter this afternoon. I don't think he knows what happened in Connecticut, though. He is downstairs with his games, just being a kid.

In a little lighter news, I went to the Train concert. We took a picture of us in our Peace, Love and Train shirts and sent them to Train on twitter. Pat retweeted the shirts and said "greatest shirts of all time". Made me happy. Then, I got a text from Pergo, Pat's personal assistant, to come to the VIP room as I could get a picture with the band. So, I got to meet and put my arm around Pat Monahan! Poor feller is sick and couldn't do much singing but it was so great anyway! We all had a blast. My cousins, Jamey and Myra, were really gracious hosts. Glad to be back home.

COSTUME LADY...and others I'm sure, I mirror what you say...what in the world is happening? Where has common sense, kindness, compassion, empathy gone? It is just gut wrenching to turn on the tv, open your web page and someone else has gone nuts and gone on a shooting rampage.....where is the sense on all of this!?

I am not anti gun...because guns do not kill people, it is my opinion but people kill people...

We always had shot guns, etc in the house when i was growing up and i NEVER touched them ... it just was ...you didn't.....like you never pointed a weapon at anyone or anything that you didn't intend to shoot....

Depressing....disheartening....

other than that, i've had a good enough day. nothing to complain about, that's for sure.

amelia and jack are coming to spend the night later. i have news, early bedtimes for everyone tonight, because i am very very tired!

will touch base likely in the morning. everyone, have a great evening and keep those in need close in your heart, light, and love....

Hi, Everyone,

I'm absolutely devastated about the school shooting in CT! I can't even imagine what gets into some people lately!!! God help those families!

Janet, congratulations! Welcome to the eagle gang, little kidster Lorelei!!!

So happy to read good news about baby Isaac, and about Michael!!!

Love the dog tale about Malcolm and Penny!!!

For some reason, my super bad allergies (hay fever type) have hit me hard, so I've been laying low for a couple of days. Woke up today with such a dry throat I couldn't even swallow! Much, much better now, though. Haven't checked any pollen reports, but would bet money that olive trees are the culprit!!!

Shar, so sorry to hear of your fall, but really glad it didn't stop you from going to the concert!
Glad you had such a good time!!!

Well, guess I'd better get going. Have a few things to do around here before Ken gets home from work. Prayers for all continue.
Can't wait until we have a new cam!

Hey, Jim! Good to see you here again! It's been quite a while. Hope all is well with you!

Well, will try to check back in tonight after dinner. Have a good afternoon/evening, everyone!

Hi all,

saw a wonderful production of "A Christmas Carol" by the Nebraska Theatre Caravan this evening. It was a last minute invite and I am glad we went to take our minds off of today's horrible events. The shooting brought back to mind an incident at my children's elementary school in the mid 70's. I remember the panic of the parents and the terror of the students. Why does this happen???

I only had Denise and Brandon to love and hug, this evening...that was great, but I wanted to hug and love all over Jayden. I'm so blessed to have him in my life!

Someone sent me a beautiful ornament, which was a baby wrapped in a pair of angel wings with a sweet little poem attached and Brantley's birth and death date written on the back. I wish I knew who it was, it is so beautiful, it made me cry! Gene put it on top of my CACTUS TREE:)

Tired tonight...

Christmas Carolling for three hours and it was very festive. Children were excited and I thought of those we lost in Connecticut today.

Bells Christmas Concert went very well and all the proceeds went to the Grans.I am sure we made over a thousand dollars.

With a heavy heart and walking with a smile and a knowing of blessings and gratitude...

Good morning my eagle friends. Kindling from Mom's house. Had dinner with Mom, Brian, and Lynnis last night so I am a happy Mom!!

Unimaginably sad what happened in CT yesterday. I know people say that guns don't kill, people do. But if people didn't have access to guns they couldn't use them to kill others. Just my humble opinion.

Taking Mom shopping for a new coat today. Hope she will agree to use a wheelchair since the mall doesn't have scooters. Brian will be coming to the condo to do laundry. Hoping to get to Michael's ice hockey game tonight.

Make it a great day everyone! I'll be thinking of Glo today as her family celebrates her Mom's 93rd birthday!

Saturday morning.

i am still thinking of all of those families in Connecticut....

as soon as the kidlets had closed their eyes last night, i went to sleep myself....i was so beyond tired. it was a grilled cheese and soup night around here.

i woke this morning to amelia crying.... her ear hurt she has tubes in ears .... i don't see any gunk coming out of the ear....but she definitely has a cold.

so i'm up.

no real big plans for this weekend. i will take the gkids home later this morning once chelsea and lorelei are home and settled. then our neighbor peggy has invited us over for eggnog (homemade) and pizza.

i am sure i will do some housework and such, but i am ready to relax. no painting. no running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

doesn't sound like me does it?

i hope everyone has a good day.....ours is certainly better than those families in CT. keeping them, as well as my family here, close in heart and thought....light and love to all

Janet, everyone needs a 'chill' day. Take it.

Hoping Glo has a wonderful day.

Sandi, enjoy your visit with family.

Wanda, that was very thoughtful of someone to send you the ornament.

Sharon, that's a great pic you got at the train concert!

Lots of different things to do here this weekend.... chores, shopping, decorating, hopefully dinner with friends.

Linda said...

Good Morning!

Lots of things going on around this group!!

But first, still reeling from the tragedy in CT. I just cannot imagine how those parents are dealing with this horrific incident. Nowhere is safe.

There has to be a reason why there is so much MORE mental illness prevalent in our society these days. Sure we know and can diagnose so much more, but there is a true disconnect happening with so many people these days. So many people just don't care. There is such a lack of caring and concern for others in so many areas.

Yet we are touched to see a community come together after this tragic event. People are looking for comfort and for answers. People are turning to God!

Unfortunately so many have pushed God away in our society, that God has backed away and let the Evil One have his way. Evil did enter that community in Newtown, and the evil one never attacks his own. He comes to kill, steal and destroy innocent and good people.

My prayer is that those families affected by this terrific loss can somehow draw closer to God and allow Him to get them through this. His amazing power can get them through this without further destruction of their lives and families.

JANET - Congratulations! Lorelei is just precious...

LOLLY - So great you keep in touch with life long friends...

GLO - Hope you are enjoying your Mom's 93rd Birthday celebration!!

SHARON - What a wonderful concert for you.....even meeting Pat Monahan and getting a picture!!

JO - Thanks for the dates! Will be praying for you, Dear One! Thanks for the Bear Cub link, too!! And sooooo happy to hear Miracle Michael is doing so very well.

PAULA - Good to see you're feeling a bit better.

MARGY - We're missing you, but hope you're enjoying family in town. Hoping James the Wise Kidster had a wonderful birthday!!

KAY - So happy to hear Penny and Malcolm are doing well together and you feel you can easily handle both at the same time while Julie and family go away!!

JEWELS - Praying that things continue to work out well with Mom's pending house sale. A few concessions always have to be made, but it isn't your responsibility to fix everything. Sometimes these inspections create a litany of pesty problems!

LOLLY - Chocolate covered raisens are Dennis' favorite, too. I never thought of making them at home. I'll have to email you for the recipe!! Sounds yummy!!

SANDI - Hope you find that perfect coat for your Mom today and that you enjoy having your son home!

Wishing you all a peaceful weekend as you all prepare for Christmas. It is such a busy time of year. Take time to love on your family and to thank God for all you do have. We are blessed!

Today, we received 2 huge trays of sliced, baked ham and 2 trays of sliced turkey breast from the City Hospital. They apparently over-cooked the amount they needed for their Christmas party and asked our Pastor if he could use it at his church. He told them that the Soup Kitchen could use it and brought it to the church and put it in our fridge. Gene and I went to the church and checked it out...there is enough to feed an army! So, we don't have to prepare any meat. I will make a pot of mashed potatoes and some gravy, some apple sauce and green beans and corn. AN EASY MEAL! God is good, all the time!

I'm stressed out a little by baby Isaac's breathing problem...praying and trying to remember that GOD IS IN CHARGE!

Good night to all, prayers and love coming your way♥

SANDI, so glad you got to see the kids again! How did it go shopping for your Mom's coat?

Trying not to think about the CT school deal - so sad, but I'll have even more of it to deal with tomorrow on the news. This one is especially sad with the kids being so young. Just don't get it. Good thing I have to stick to the facts doing the news!

Why hasn't this doc connected? Just me. I'm sure it will be fine.

Whoa...as a teacher the news on Friday was devastating. I can't even image what those teachers were going through. I went to be thinking about where I would have sheltered 25 children in my classroom! So very sad.

She was a little bit younger than me. She had a heart attack while on a cruise with her mother. Yes, it was only her mother there to take care of getting her body back to Bedford. Well, I'm truly gone this time. I'll be right back.

Good evening my eagle friends!

Home from Baltimore - smooth, easy trip back. Bandit did well in the car and at Mom's, even with Brian's and Lynnis's dogs there as well. He DID start to pee on Mom's new area rug before we could get him outside - "accidents" are happening more and more often lately. UGGHH!!

I will be interested to see what happens at school tomorrow. We have a crisis plan but we never do practice drills (heck, we don't even do practice fire drills). If a shooter walked into our building (and he could walk right in b/c the front doors are never locked), there is no way we would be as prepared as the teachers at Sandy Hook. Let's face it, no teacher never expects to have to protect his/her students from a killer - the thought should never even have to cross our minds!

Janet, would love to see Livvy's current hair color! When Brian was in high school, going through his "Goth phase," many friends asked why I allowed him to dress in black, paint his fingernails black, wear chains from PetSmart (no joke) around his neck, and dye his hair strange colors. He didn't do drugs, didn't drink, and got good grades - the color of his hair was never a battle I cared to fight. And now he works for the US State Department!

Hoping that little Isaac's breathing is back to normal - glad to hear that his chest xray was clear. With him just learning to eat and swallow, it would be easy for him to aspirate his food.

Jo, I will be sending special prayers and lots of positive energy your way this week that your cyberknife treatments are a complete success!

Have a good evening!
