Checking in from school. Thanks Steve for the new thread and CarolAnne for the call over.

Steve, safe trip! Glad you're not traveling to northern Africa or the Middle East area - protests at the US Embassies in 11 countries now! Just sent another email to Brian making sure all is well in Tanzania.

CA, when I read your post about the new thread I thought for a minute that YOU were going to India! I thought - WOW!

State testing my special ed. kids again today and probably every day next week as well. BORING!

Later.

Have to take Flash to the vet. He is still having problems. Was lying out in the yard trembling this morning. I got Hunter to help me coax him into the house. He is in pain again.

CarolAnne said...

Sorry Sandi - was trying to conserve on words. I am not going to India. Not even to the grocery store, though the northwoods does look promising!

Poor Flash - pain relief prayers going out.

magpie said...

Shirley, sorry to read about Flash's discomfort...hope everything will be OK soon...

Good Morning from work...

Prayers for Wanda and Gene and the family to find the strength to get through each minute....

Hi, Everyone,
I'm just beginning to wake up--Ken went to work, and let me sleep in late. Emma has been keeping an eye on things until I get myself in gear. She's on "cricket patrol" right now, as we have had an influx of them recently. She's really good at catching them!

Prayers and more hugs for Wanda, Gene, and family. We have started a prayer chain from this roost, and many more prayer warriors are sending love and prayers.

Shirley, prayers for Flash--that must be so painful! Hope the vet can make him more comfortable. Poor little fellow!

Well, I need to do some damage control in the appearance department. Margy, may I please borrow your magic fairy for a bit?Could sure use her right now! Emma wants some attention, so gotta go.
Will continue mega-prayers, and will check back in later. I LOVE us!

Wonderful story, Steve. Janie at Birds of Prey was our dear departed friend, Deb Palmer! Our friends will never be forgotten! Janie mainly worked with the Ospreys - so thankful for her caring ways. Thanks Steve and Safe Journeys!

It's Red Friday and I've got my red shirt ready to show my patriotism for our troops!

GOOD MORNING ALL...
I loved the video of Beauty getting her prosthetic beak...wondered why they couldn't have tranquilized her a bit so as not to traumatize her so much? Wonderful story and will, most likely, lead to more help with our wildlife friends.

Karla and Brantley's parents are headed to the Funeral Home to make arrangements. Praying that they can feel God's arms around them as they make these very difficult decisions.

I have decided to go on with plans to have Family Friday for those who feel the need to be with family. I need to hug and kiss them all! Will tell GG through a copy of Karla's face book account of Brantley's passing and cause of death. It will be easier that way. She has lost one hearing aid and just barely hear anything now:(

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

((((HUGS)))) to you all! No words!

Lolly said...

Wanda, I do hope family can be together tonight. Hugs and love will help. God be with you and GG when you tell her.

We are on the road and into Canada this morn. All telephone ends then except emergencies.

I love us!!!

CarolAnne said...

Hope GG's life lessons will carry her thru this latest happening. Sometimes they surprise us with their understanding & compassion for things like this. Hugs to GG!

Wanda I am glad to read you are going to do your Family Friday. It will be good for all of you to just be together. Hugs around. What a very very difficult week. Prayers that things go well enough with GG. God bless you all.

Flash Dex says he hopes you are feeling better and the Vet will make this all OK for you. He understands those more frequent vet trips these days.

Wanda is ordering the Plant garden for
us - I'll get back later with any cost.
I mentioned to Wanda about us planting a tree in her yard and she thought that was the sweetest thought - Thanks Carol Anne. Let me know what you all would also like to do as the kids had no insurances. ♥

I wished her happiness tonight as her family gathers.
Sending arrangement out on Momster mail.

CarolAnne said...

In a week where life and death is formost in our thoughts, author Heather Lende wrote an essay about that subject.
She ended it with, "I read that when the twin towers were on fire and the hi-jacked jets were hurtling toward sure crashes, the last words cried into all those cell phones were virtually the same--I love you.

In the beginning, love creates us, and in the end, love is all we know. The priest at my mother’s funeral said death should shake us up. Each death, he said, should encourage us to better live the life we are lucky enough to still have. I know that is true, I just wish there were an easier way to learn it, don’t you?"

Hoda said...

WELCOME TO CANADA LOLLY and JACK ready or not we love having you here...LOL

I am in with the arrangements to support WANDA and FAMILY...I like the garden idea the tree idea and covering some of the cots that this young family will have...Blessings to all concerned. I am not sure what closure is and I lose my breath when ever we use it here...WANDA'S avatar brought me tears...so restful and so full of love and acceptance and understanding and faith and trust...is that closure? I wipe away the tears.

Mema Jo said...

Information just sent out through Momster's email - Advise me if you don't receive it as I will gladly forward.

Our planter is being ordered by Wanda
At later date CarolAnne would you please speak will Wanda and Gene as to type of tree we could plant in their yard? When you find out (And it should be still good planting season we will have a local look into purchasing it and setting up a planting date.

I would be more then happy to accept any monies to give as a lump sum to the parents. Jo - 7292 Beechtree Lane, Middletown MD 21769 Deadline of Sept 25 ok?

Family Friday was a success...everyone came, including Jillian and Aaron. They both just happened to have the day off. We hugged and cried and hugged and cried and when everyone left there was mostly laughter, no tears.
I gave GG Karla's letter and she seemed to understand every word about what had happened to Brantley. She cried for a little while, then gained her composure and told Karla and Donny how sorry she was, knowing how close they were with the baby. I held her as she sobbed and that seemed to be a comfort to her. After a trip to the ladies room, she came back and ate her supper. I fixed some Chicken Corn Chowder and we bought some subs. It felt so good to have the family all together. I think Robbie and Rachael have moved back into their house. God Bless this family~

Hello, Everyone,
I am so glad that Wanda & Gene's family night went well. I am sure that everyone needed the fellowship of family, and a lot of hugs. Prayers for the whole family continue.

It has not been a good week at all.
I hate bearing more bad news, but
I am really sorry to report that my Sis-in-law Marsh took Katie the bulldog to the vet again today because she was not doing well at all, and she had to have her put down. The vet said she had autoimmune disease, and would only get worse, not better. Marsh said she looked like a burn unit case, covered with hot spots, with several abcessed hot spots weeping pus. She was absolutely miserable, and this after 2 weeks of antibiotics. The vet said it would be a case of spending huge amounts of money to try to save her, only to have her relapse. It was the kindest, most loving thing to do to help her over the Rainbow Bridge. Poor Marsh is heartbroken, so please say some prayers for her.
I'm pretty upset, too. Poor little Katie was such a sweetheart. When I'd take care of her and Charlee, and she didn't want to eat, she would rather have you pet her than feed herself. She was a real people dog. I am certainly going to miss her!

September 12th was our youngest daughter, Heather Nicole's, 35th Birthday, although she celebrated it in Heaven. We can hardly believe she's been gone 20 years.
That particular date is very important to our family. It is Ken's Dad's Birthday, Ken's Dad & Mom's wedding anniversary, Heather Nicole's Birthday, Marsh & Joe's wedding anniversary, and our nephew Sean's little boy Ian's Birthday. Now it's the day Brantley went to heaven, too.

JudyE, saying some prayers for healing for you. Hope a good night's sleep helps, and you feel better tomorrow.

I am going to go take a shower. I need one badly--it was 109 here today. Thank GOD the humidity was low! I'm awfully sticky hot, though.

Have said prayers for everyone--so many, for so many reasons. Prayers for all creatures, and for all our furbabies, too, especially Flash. Hope he's feeling better. Wanda & Gene, GG, and their whole family are in my heart and in my prayers, too. The porch light is on, and both security systems are enabled.
Hope everyone has a deep, restorative sleep tonight, with SED. God bless, and goodnight. I love all of you!

awww poor katie dog, I will keep Marsh in thoughts and prayers as well.

Got the offer on the house, they offered 80,000.00 Our realtor said that is a insult. Heck I not need her to tell me that!!
They even came back to the house again today well the 14th to look at it again for the 3rd time!! They are from Maryland.
CHristie said out of smartness she would counter offer 126,999.00. but I think t hey decided on 118,000.00 the costs for us is already up to like 10,000.00 for all the dang inspections and such plus having sewer pumped. Absolutely ridiculous!!

Hope Steve's trip/visit with his daughter is safe. Thought of him last night when the news reported that India is one of the 21 countries with protesters making trouble at the US Embassies. I wouldn't want to be an American traveling to a country with a Muslim population right now.

Morning Eagle Friends - cool and crisp again today with the sun.
Prayers for Marsh - she did right by Katie even if it is so sad to have to make that decision.

Sounds like a busy day for most - Take time to be thankful for all you do have.

I am starting to 'move' and get the picnic things packed up - from soft drinks to cakes! Glad the park is only a short distance away.

I will be thinking of you all and wishing you good family ties as I have

I second that Magpie!!

For those who voted for my going north its been well worth it.

Multiple deer & a raccoon family in the yard last night. This morning, walking the dogs heard turkeys in the woods, there was a mist on the lake, and a loon diving for food. Tomorrow I shall bring the camera on the walk.

Wishing everyone a great day.

I could see this on my concrete porch:
while I was away from the apartment, it appears that probably a neighborhood kid put out a bowl of milk, that got spilled on the concrete. There are numeous
white almost irridescent kitten paw prints on the porch...is quite cute and wistful

magpie said...

and of course they are all gone now, the Momcast and five kittens....somewhere in the neighborhood I guess, but maybe that bowl of milk was the boost they needed for their departure

Good late morning all. I have really accomplished some things this morning but they aren't the kinds of things anyone would see except for me. Some notes written. Packages ready to mail. Downloaded some photos so camera is good to go again and resisted the urge to get them ready to post on FB or send wherever. Will do that later today maybe LOL. Gorgeous early Fall kind of weather here. Dex and I are off to the Post Office. HAGD everyone. Sorry to read another furbaby crossed the bridge. Surely does sound like what needed to happen. Dex had a Vet appt yesterday too. Overall it actually went very well and I slept very good last night. :-)

Here is an update on Beauty, from the Birds of Prey Northwest Facebook page

Birds of Prey Northwest Will paraphrase our July 27 update: Beauty is doing very well. Her upper beak has slowly regenerated some growth, which pushed the specially fitted prosthetic off. The GREAT news in this is that for the first time, the beak growth allows her to feed herself. We cut stips of salmon (one of her favorites), lay them out, and she is able to scoop them up and eat on her own. We are in a wait and see pattern before determining any kind of new prosthesis. She lives in a large aviary where she moves about, perches on large tree limbs, and looks out over a lake and forested mountains. She remains a beautiful, very special bald eagle, and a reminder that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. THANKS FOR ASKING ABOUT HER!

Special thoughts are with WANDA, GENE, GG and the entire family. So glad you had Friday night together and am praying for you as precious little Brantley is laid to rest tomorrow.

Still waiting for insurance approval for the MRI--will start bugging the doc's scheduler Monday. Couldn't make it without the pain killers ! Fortunately Julie is feeling stronger, even doing a little shopping for me today. Thank you Momster's for your love and prayers ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Mine are certainly with each of you !

Back at the camper. Such a nice peaceful afternoon on the water. Lots of osprey making lots of noise. I loved the story about Beauty, that was awesome. Read the blog and it is nice to know what is going on with some of my favorite folks. I just don't get on much when I am working, it sucks me in and I get so far behind! But I love y'all and am always thinking of you.

It was a wonderful day here too JO. I am glad youi had a terrific day too.

Good afternoon/good evening Friends.

I look forward to LOLLY'S and JACK'S pictures too. Canmore where they are is a lovely spot and very close to Banff and I am sure they could day trips and hikes all around this area...it is outside of the National Park Boundary but Banff is within reach...I want to know what four legged creatures they have seen today.

I think this is the very last weekend I could do without sox...my feetsies got cold in the market today...we made 600$ selling baked goods and people were very supportive and friendly with their visiting...

The water was calm on the lake and what a wonderful early morning paddle it was. Very vry pleased with it all.

I will go to the story telling festival tomorrow instead of today...it will be in Nelson instead of 1/2 an hour out of Nelson...should be lots of fun...

Prayers for WANDA and FAMILY as the service is tomorrow and may God Bless you all.

Jack is grilling hamburgers. Have been sitting out and reading, then we went for a short walk. Spent most of the day taking it easy, getting reaquainted with the area. Also, checked on wildlife viewing areas as well as hikes.

Tomorrow going to take a loop drive looking for wildlife.

Margy, seeing Magpies all over the area. Also, at this rv park there are rabbits all over the place. Love it! We came across one other rv park in the south east that had many rabbits.

I also learned where to look for an eagle. He has a favorite roosting spot. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

BRAVO on the fundraising loot, Hoda...

I spoke for a little while with Wanda earlier today...it was lovely to share some talk time.
She and Gene were going to spend some time with GG in the afternoon...

May we offer some moments of silence and prayer Sunday afternoon, with the funeral services for Brantley at 3 pm, Eastern Time... and the Visitation one hour prior to that...
Gaze upon the heavens maybe, feel the warmth of the day upon you...
and send your lovins' their way....

Stopping in to say good night. I am hoping the contractor will get started on the repairs very soon.

Got a check for the hotel room from the insurance company, then got an e-mail that they had MAILED the check, not sent it by FedEx, as originally planned. So it looks like they may have sent two checks, because I got it via FedEx.

Guess I will wait until Monday and find out what happened. Do not want to try to cash a check and find out they stopped payment on it.

Rest well, my friends. SED.

Coming in the door to say Good Night...but first:
Capt. Gene and I have been able to pull ourselves together, not many tears today...only when we see a photograph; his smile was so sweet:)
GG was very 'accepting' of everything, today, saying that 'it is probably all for the best, because he might have spent a lot of years in pain with his defect'. What she doesn't know is that if he had been x rayed and the problem found, they could have repaired his problem:`( Too little too late. Anyway, she wanted to go to the service tomorrow, but her breathlessness scares and embarrases her, so she wants to stay home...won't even consider going in the motor home:( I'm going to take her an extra-special dinner and a stack of some new gardening magazines. Hope that keeps her busy til we get back

I worry so about Rachael and Robbie. Karla tells me the Rachael has been clinging to Brantley's Blankie and Robbie breaks down at the mention of his name...so young to have such sadness!

Good Night dear friends, sleep well and feel my love and prayers for you all♥

DanaMo said...

Productive day here at Mom's. Lisa and I did some serious spending of Mom's $$$ while Denny and Mitch worked on Mom's to-do list. Bought 2 nice area rugs for living and dining rooms, blinds for the French doors, new lamp shades, wall shelves and a TV stand for the computer room, sheers for computer room windows. The condo is looking great!

Heading over to FB to check out Lolly's pica. Have a great day all.

Good morning! Very early here and we are off on our adventures. I tried to start a new blog for pictures, but no luck. Wifi got busy and I could not even get back on. Will try again later.

Taking a loop drive, on gravel road today where we have a good chance to see wildlife. 5 moose were spotted yesterday!

Packing a lunch and we are off.

Wanda and Gene...thinking of you today. GG knows what is best for her, good that she is staying home. She is wise! God be with all of you today, hold you close and give you comfort.

Sunday morning. For many of us we do indeed pause to remember there is eternal life provided by our Creator. It is hard though when our loved ones go there and leave us here. I believe eternity is a beautiful place and many we love are there waiting for us. Brantley is in a better place beyond our imagination, but for his family today is too difficult for words in many ways. Surrounded by the prayers of those who love them and comfort from above is my prayer for today and especially this afternoon as visitation and services are carried out in memory of this sweet baby who yes left here way too soon. Good morning,

Prayers for Wanda, Gene, and the whole family. GG's response sounds like her way of coping with Brantley's death. I can understand it.

Nice day here. Just hope we don't get anymore praying mantises coming in through the holes in our walls. Or squirrels, for that matter. No squirrels yet, but there are holes big enough, covered only by the tarp.

SPLIT COMING SOON..........And its Sunday yet again. I have a cat making biscuits on my midsection. A bit hard to type...but she is at least letting me see the screen!!! Such affection! lol.

Thinking of Wanda and her crew today. Will join in sending healing thoughts @ 3 p.m. e.s.t. Count me in. (((((HUGS TO WANDA AND FAMILY)))))) blessings and love to see you through this difficult time...

Yesterday was busy, but we muddled through. Less tired today. Slept late (for me). All furbabies have had breakfast/meds and I have had coffee. Almost time to start the day.

A more quiet week ahead. After last week, am ready for some "down" time. THe weeks where I have ALL of my private clients keeps me going like a mad woman.

Can certainly tell fall is coming quickly. Days are much shorter now, and I noticed a few leave thinking about changing color. We have rain forecast for the next few days; cooler temps ahead. Upper 60's low 70's for highs. :) Yeah. I think I might plant that mimosa tree this week. It is nearly 4 ft tall now, time to get it in the ground.

I've been babying this tree for a year now. We had a lovely one when we moved here 7 years ago, and I decided to weed n feed the yard; and killed the tree. OOPS> So then I found two baby mimosa trees, babied them, planted them in the back yard, surrounded by a small fence to protect them and the electric company came through to replace a pole in the back yard and RAN THEM OVER. :{ Talk about frustrating? So this one, maybe, just maybe will make it? It is going in the front yard. I'm thinking with the cooler temps and rain forecast it might be a good time to plant it.

Time to get busy I suppose. Bowling tonight; yoga tomorrow night!!!!! :) I hope everyone has a good day. Hugs to all. .......
