Good morning eagle buds...

Margy, so sorry to hear of more family sadness.

Lori, glad you are feeling better today. You sound your usual self on the adio.

JudyE I can so understand your decision. My current cat, William who I got as an 8 week old kitten, has been somewhat of a disappointment. He is living life on his own terms. I thought that getting a kitten I could mold him into the kind of cat I wanted--ha ha on me.

Good morning all. ((((JudyE))))) You are not too old for cats. My prayer is that you will find the right cat that needs you and you can enjoy him/her. I have a senior friend who took her granddaughter to the local shelter with her to find a cat. It was of course hard to see all the cats that needed a home and only choose one but in the process they found her a perfect cat. And that cat found himself an awesome furever home. I am so sorry you are feeling sad but i agree you surely tried your very best to make it work. The cats will be re adopted out. Its gorgeous here again today. Except for no rain we are having beautiful weather. I might even start the lawn mower today which will be the first time since mid June. HAGD everyone.

Judy - I feel sad for you but praise you for trying with Bennie & Jet. Please find yourself a 'lap cat' - They are so comforting and they don't act up.
Margy-Margy-Margy My heart goes out to you. Cancer sucks as we all have experienced. I know the Lord only puts on us what He thinks we can handle - I know He has chosen you because you are so special.♥

Paula, the pecans are looking great! We are really hoping for a good crop. However, we are leaving for 4 weeks. Hoping the wiring keeps the squirrels away. So far, so good! They have already stripped the tree in the back. It is not wired as they can get into that tree from other trees.

Time to head out! (((hugs)))

THERE IS HOPE

Giant Panda News
August 20, 2012
Dear Jo,
Giant panda breeding season just got more interesting! Scientists at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute confirmed late last week that Mei Xiang has entered her secondary hormone phase, which means that they saw a rise in her urinary progesterone. This rise means that she is 40 to 50 days away from giving birth to a cub or the end of a pseudopregnancy. Mei has had five pseduopregnancies since 2007, but we are hopeful that she may have a cub this year.

We have started to see some changes in Mei Xiang’s behavior that support what the hormonal data has told us. She is beginning to build her nest and is dragging bamboo shoots in her den. Our scientists will continue to monitor Mei’s hormones from urine samples over the coming weeks, and the veterinary team will conduct regular ultrasounds as long as Mei is willing to participate.

Good afternoon, Eagle Buds !

Happy birthday to STEVE and belated greetings to SANDI and CANDY !

Sincere condolences to you and your extended family, MARGY. ♥

JUDY, thanks for e-mailing me the pics of DANAMO with the puppies, they're adorable and so is she ! So sorry to hear about the kitties, but you gave it a good long trial. Not all feral cats work out well as house pets. Perhaps another kitty or two will come your way, just as JUDIE experienced. I hope so !

LORI, so relieved to read you're feeling better and I hope Kate's dear mother is, too. Prayers and hugs for you three ! ♥♥♥

My Julie is improving, more slowly than she'd like---I can relate to that ! She see's her primary doc today and will see the gynocoligist soon, hoping for more answers.

I'm enjoying little milestones--drove the car twice last week, got rid of the shower chair and rarely use the walker any more. Hoping the cane and the back brace can go away soon ! Thanks for all prayers and positive thoughts for me and my daughter.

THELMA, I loved your caring message of love. We do have strong connections here and I'm constantly strengthened by them !

Love and prayers for all ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Yay!! No XBox for Hunter on school days. It is time for him to get into a different schedule.

Hi, Everyone,

Gosh, getting here late tonight!
It was hot again today, 88 I think, but still humid! I'm not sure whether global warming is the cause or not, but it has been getting more humid each year. I don't think 88 would bother me at all, if it were dry heat. It is supposed to be back to nearly normal by Thursday. Hope the weatherman is right! Poor Emma didn't feel like eating her breakfast this morning. She did eat all her dinner, though. I'm sure it was just too hot for her.
I don't feel like eating much when it's this hot, either!

JudyE, I'm sorry that the kitties didn't work out. You certainly gave it a reasonable length of time, though, so don't be hard on yourself about it. Somewhere out there is the perfect cat for you!

Lori, glad you were feeling better today, and hope the side-effects of the new meds were temporary.

Thelma, thank you for your post earlier--you are right, we do all have a spiritual connection here.
Love and (((HUGS))) to you!

Kay, it was SO good to read your post! Sounds like you are really starting to make progress! That's wonderful! Prayers for you continue.

Well, think I'm going to call it a day. I'm hoping it cools off enough tonight that we can get a decent night's sleep. Prayers for everyone, every creature, and all our furbabies. The porch light is on, and both security systems are enabled. Sleep well, everyone, with SED. God bless, and goodnight.

Good morning!

First day of school here. I hear Annoying Orange on the TV downstairs. Hunter is watching his morning cartoons.

When I was in Hunter's room changing his sheets the other day, I stepped on something on the floor and it hollered, "Hey! Hey! Hey!" It was his stuffed Annoying Orange toy. Good grief!

The girl down the street has confirmed that Hunter got the good teachers this year.

Of course, he is not ready to accept her assessment. Wants to find out for himself. I guess I should be glad that he is an independent thinker.

Wanda, always love hearing good news about GG!

Hoping for a better beach day for Madeline and Michael today. Yesterday, it stayed gray til about 2pm and then, when they left to go to Rehoboth for the rides, the sun came out.

Have a great day everyone!

stronghunter said...

Thanks, Sandi. I hope he has a great day, too. He did not want to hand around to find all of his classrooms when Kathryn took him on Friday. But sixth grade has a separate section of the building, so he will not have to venture far.

He expressed some concern about getting to his locker and making it to class within five minutes. That takes some adjustment. I remember some kids getting confused the first few days at both middle and high school.

I finally get on here and first thing I see is that my dear Margy has lost yet another family member. My heart pours out to you and the family. Why our God keeps us in heartach.
Second thing I see, is the rains and saying they were kisses from my mom...how I wish I was awake to get some of them!!
Margy. I am on duty, night has gone by faster than Sunday night!!!
Third thing I remember seeing is something about Judy's cats... not sure what it was that I missed, but I hope all is well with whatever happened.
prayers and all my love to all. I miss you all, but this schedule has me everyhwere ..been pulling too much overtime lately. I not know which way is up. But know that all of you are in my thoughts each and every day!!!

Good early morning everyone here and to stop by later.

Shirley, daytime freedom has arrived and I wish Hunter a good first day of middle school and I wish you an outstanding first day of bowling. Can't wait to here the updates on both. Is Hunter's first game still on for today?

Lori, dental was fine. Cleaning only. Vascular sonogram tomorrow.

Jo, if you are headed to the B____ today, have a safe trip and enjoy. Stop by when you have a minute.

Seems Hoda is more international than I realized. Reading a mystery written by an Argentinian writer.

Hi Andy. Sorry the weather has been so uncomfortable. Do you have, or have you considered, a floor fan? Might help.

Margy? Well, hope she's not here because she is getting some well-deserved and restorative sleep.

Wanda, I think GG being in her garden is wonderful news. Hope the doctor's appointment goes well. Have a super great Soup Kitchen tonight.

Have a great morning!

good morning all.

slept in a little this morning. no coffee as i have a physical @ 9. :(

i ordered a new bowling ball yesterday. i can throw my old one about 14mph down the lane now. it is very very light. i think with one that is slightly heavier (about 2 lbs heavier) i will slow down and have more impact. we, however, don't start til sept 9.

i am itching to go fishing. maybe once we get back from va beach.

sometimes i wonder, why do i always have something to do? lol. i don't seem to be capable of having an empty plate.

i do enjoy it, but see people who are bored, or just sitting around watching tv. i don't seem to have much time to be bored or just sit around with out a book/laptop/something going on in and around me. interesting to me that everyone is not this way.

have a great day ya'll. i need to prep livvy's lunch and get myself moving for this dr. appt. bleech.

have a great day. hugs light, love and smiles to all

Hmm, Mr. Confident went into total panic mode this morning and would not get on the bus. That was a scary gaggle of middle schoolers standing at the bus stop. Not like the elementary crowd.

He is truly a mass of contradictions these days. But he was not the only one delivered to school the first day. We had to wait in a very long line of cars.

When we got to the end of the line, he thought maybe I should park and go into the building with him, just to make sure that he knew where to go. I did not do that. Assured him that people would help him out.

I did see one parent waiting with the kids at the bus stop, so I am guessing he is not the only 6th grader. Most 7th-8th graders would not have a parent out there, I should think.

Waiting for the middle school bus can be tough. I remember that someone took Will's umbrella and destroyed it at the bus stop when he was in middle school.

They had to walk about 1/2 mile through the neighborhood, and I was working then. That was before the streets were all paved, since it was a new neighborhood then.

I am joking about the gaggle being scary. I am sure it was to Hunter, though.

Do remember that Kathryn drove by a group of high schoolers out there once. She waved, they waved. But she looked in the rearview mirror to see one kid giving her the finger after she passed by. She said she almost went back to have words with him.

magpie said...

Good one!

Just for the heck of it, I posted a pic of the headless clock on my blog for anyone not on FB.

Was feeling guilty because I have not been bowling all summer after saying I would practice. Wouldn't you know it? I bowled better than I have in a long time.

I ended up with 5 of the plants I had leaned two on the fence and they haven't wilted yet I guess they are going to take hold there maybe I had thrown lots of the muck mulch that I pulled off the carport on top of them so that probably why they haven't died and the other three were in pool I had to get out of the stinky water and before mosquito grew Ok my bottle of water is down gonna take the phone out with me in case Angie call she has a ultra sound apt at 3 they think her cysts on her
ovaries are back lots of back and front pain like before When they have her on the 80 birth control pill it goes aways so she may have to go back on them the insurance only pays 20 and she has to pay 60 so the dr said that they could give her a few free packs at times She has had her tubes tied and has to be on the pills because of the cysts Ok gonna head back out for a while

Well the truck thing didn't work but just broke my strap oh well I got it cut down with the chain saw to the ground and now will probably by something to pour on it to kill it its about 10"round and the roots I am sure go deep to much of a PIA to dig out I may try to take my sawzall to it little by little over a period of time I did that to one that was growing in the fence line and it worked but wasn't this big I was going to let it grow but changed my mind I wish I wouldn't have decided to let it grow and pulled it out when it first started Live and learn HUH
