Good to see everyone this morning.

Good morning to all and to Thelma who is first on the split scene.

So good that GG's roommate knew what to say and that GG is so willing to follow Wanda's advice. Especially nice that the hospital will allow her to wear her own pj's. Hope today will be peaceful.

Missed the sparklers because it was raining. Maybe I can catch them tonight.

Safe travels, Margy.

Hoda, do please take care today. Rest and liquids, please.

Sandi, so glad the party was fun and the rain went away.

Wishing everyone a lovely day!

Good Morning Eagle Buds

WANDA so happy to hear that GG is willing to stay in the hospital
I know when I was in the hospital you were allowed your own night gown and great that she has a roommate to talk to and keep her in the hospital room

LORI so happy the paint is now more comforting to the eyes and seemed to change colors after it dried or soaked in LOL

Cool thing on the news just now and last nite called the Guardian
Helmet cover for the football helmet So glad that a parent came up with it to help or soften the blow of head to head contact
Guardian Helmet they also said that it also keeps the helmet cooler for heat strokes etc Pretty cool

Good morning to one and to all:

JUDYE: I will try to post pix of the costumes....never even crossed my mind. I have them hidden in a closet.

HODA & JUDYE: i loved yoga the few time i have been able to join in. the next three weeks i am slammed and since this class is offered only 1x a week :( (boo boo face) i will have to wait. but am going to figure out this morning if i can rearrange my schedule starting after that to go at least 2x, maybe 3x a month. :) it was specifically for people who are stiff/chronic issues and the room was only 85 (as opposed to over 100). i didn't even break as sweat! :D i could have just drifted off to sleep at the end....adn she massaged our shoulders, neck and head with this delightful massage lotion.....at the very end......just pure bliss....but i have some new stretches (had a few already) that i can incorporate at home....some great flexor/extensor stretches for the forearm!!!!! in my job, this area is always tight and causes pain. so that in and of itself is a gem!

We went to the fairgrounds to the races again last night. STERLING MARLIN ran in the last race. Came in 4th. Always great to see him run. For those who follow IDOL /country music, Bucky Covington did a concert. He was good. They took up $$$ for fallen firefighters. Big crowd there last night, hopefully they had a big take. :)

Today: yard work. Disassemble the grandkids swingset which is still in the back yard....do some typical housework...and go to the kids tonight for dinner and deliver the swingset! They are making brisket for dinner; I am bringing brownies and am putting mom's peanut butter frosting on the brownies. Everyone loves that frosting. :)

Well I"ve taken enough space. Livvy is right here beside me so I will have to honor JUDYE's request LATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hugs, love, light and smiles to one and to all. Have a beautiful day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning! Almost time to go finish getting ready for church, but have a sec.

Judy, liked the bit on the Guardian Helmet. I have two grandboys that will probably play. Saw that it was developed by a Georgia Tech graduate. Shared that with my own GT grad. lol Have I ever shared that Jack is a GT Distinguished Grad? Each year they give the honor to a few at a black tie affair. He was honored several years ago. I am proud! He had to rent a tux! And, Michael and Ashley flew to Atlanta to attend with us. Really a very special evening.

Lolly said...

Everything is ready for the shower. I will just have to prepare the fruit. So anxious to get the fruit ready....I will take a picture.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Still have not made it to Lowe's to pick up the wallpaper kit. Think I will make it in a bit. Kathryn and Bill are getting ready to head down to Angela's in Chesapeake. The concert features Def Leppard and some other groups. I am not an expert on this, really.

Thanks for the info on the football helmets, Judy. Worth checking into. Hunter is in a youth league sponsored by Spotsylvania County. I cannot imagine how old the helmets might be.

stronghunter said...

Susan made it to Fredericksburg in an hour this time. She's with Heidi and friends for now.

Good Afternoon Friends ♥
Happy with the news concerning GG. Wanda I am also happy you are in control.
Lori, the lighting does make a difference with the paint - glad you waited a day and saw you loved it.
Lolly, have a good party day and Sandi, your get together sounded great.
Today I have an evening picnic - it is celebrating my gd's 10th wedding anniversary. I am looking forward mostly to chocolate cake with chocolate icing. That is what their wedding cake was - and yest I am bringing the strawberries to put around the cake. Disappointed they are not still in season and the store didn't have the very large ones.

Mema Jo said...

I have been on FB and Dana has Boomer at the vets - Corn cob surgery it looks like. She said he got it out of the garbage. Wishing Boomer well ♥

stronghunter said...

Oh, but small strawberries are the best, Jo.

Saw Dana's post about Boomer, too. Second the good wishes for Boomer.

Need to head out to the store. And, I think I hear meowing from downstairs.

Enjoyed the basketball game this morning.

Mema Jo said...

Shirley - what day is your Bridge club -You know that wallpaper isn't going to hang itself! (Just kidding of course) ♥

I need to get some things ready for this picnic

Well lets see it's Good Afternoon everyone. I have no clue where the day has gone. Glad to see GG is in the hospital and Wanda's report sounds like she is feeling encouraged by what she sees and hears. Praying for needed info and good news for GG tomorrow. I guess I will try to watch the Olympics closing tonight. I have sort of missed over half the gymnastics this year. I either didn't know when they were on or managed to sleep through them as the timing for our chance to see was right about the time I needed a nap after several long nights with Dex. A friend is coming by with some sweet corn in a little while. As you all know even in IL and IA that is a rare commodity this year.

stronghunter said...

Bridge is Wednesday, Jo. I do not know if I will make it. I want to paint the trim and doors, too. I do not have the stamina that I once had.

Janet said...

Late afternoon hello.

JUDYE and any one else interested, posted pix of the ice skating dresses I purchased..... let me know opinions. I love the black one best, but know Livvy will love the mint green velour one.

Going to Chelsea's for dinner.

:)

stronghunter said...

Kay, so good to hear from you. I am assuming that when you say you have nothing new to report, you are doing well. Hope you continue to recover.

Jo, about the wallpaper--back a few years ago, one of our members got so interested in painting borders on her walls that she was on a ladder painting away when we arrived at her house.

She kept painting until the group had assembled. As she painted, she explained about how excited she was about the new borders.

I now have all of the materials that I expect to need. Did some dishes and will vacuum the hall, then paint the trim and doors. That should not take too long, but it will have to dry.

stronghunter said...

And, I do not expect to be hanging wallpaper when my guests arrive.

Lori O. said...

Janet, I think both the dresses are great! Beautiful! I wish I had remembered to do before and after painting pictures like you did.

Didn't get the living room even started painting today. Mom and the gang left around 11:30 this morning. My SIL said she would be back and we'll do the living room and bedroom downstairs. But, aaaahhhhh, the quiet is so nice again!

Shirley, funny that I just got done pealing off wallpaper and you're putting it up. I hope it turns out great for you!

KAY, it's always great to see you've checked in. Oh, how I miss you!

Was hoping for another GG report, but don't see anything new.

Hey Blogger eagle peeps I have sort of a odd question

You know I just got the package delivered with the ABC in it and there was a delivery confirmation on it but he didn't knock to have me sign I did call patty to let her now she wouldn't be getting the confirmation and if she does let me know HMMM

Ok my question is

WHO out there use a PO BOX ????????????????????

DO you get your mailed at your door stoop like I do next to my front door?????????????

or do you have a mail box on the street???????????

or if you are in a apt is your mail box in a central area away from your place?????????????????

I know silly questions and I would love to know I am thinking about getting a PO box but if something doesn't fit in it would I have to go to the PO to pick up if it doesn't fit now they just put on my stoop or in side the screen door Any input would be helpful in me making a decision

I use to be in apts and our mail boxes were at the entrance of the building I didn't like that at all I love having my mail box right outside my door don't even have to go out to get it just open door

IN OHIO I would always fall on my butt in the snow getting the mail down the bottom of the driveway was the mailbox

Hoda said...

Thanks LOLLY great pictures and it sounds like it was very enjoyable and full of cheer.

JudyEddy said...

10 days

Hoda said...

JUDYE I have two post boxes.
THey are very convenient and they hold the post till I can pick it. The one next to the flat, if there is a bigger item the postman delivers to the flat. COurrier post also comes directly to the flat. The other post box is at the post office and they hold on to the post till I can pick it up which I do around a couple of times a week. THey are both very good systems.

Hoda said...

Only when signature is asked for do they stop around to ask for it...if it is not asked for they put it in the box or leave notification that there is a parcel and instructions as to where to get it. They never leave it just infront of the flat...Courrier services attepmt to deliver it three times before they request that you pick it up...

JudyEddy said...

Janet said...

Good evening:

JUDYE, LORI: glad you all liked the dresses. I got each of the for $10. Even if she quits in a year, I haven't invested a mint!

HODA! Guess what I saw today! On a billboard coming home from Chelsea's....DRAGON BOAT RACES HERE IN NASHVILLE Sept 29! I just might have to go to check it out!

We had anice time at the kids. Chris cooked a brisket, mac n cheese, corn on the cob and I made brownies with Mom's famous peanut butter frosting. :)

So nice to see the kids settled in their home.

Now am home. It is dark. Olivia is in bed and I"m thinking bedtime will be soon for me as well. The coffee pot is set to go off in the morning and we start the week all over again.

Have a beautiful night's sleep all. See you in the morning!

Finished painting. Messy job. Not much of a change yet, but the tedious part is done.

Lots of paint on me. Yuck.

SInce 1:30 this afternoon my time which is 4:30 your time there is a fire that has erupted five miles east of Nelson and the smoke it getting thick. It just flared again as the helicopters and the planes are being very active flying over the flat...it is a residential area where the fire is and it is a concern...I ask for prayers please.

Hoda said...

JANET yes go check out the Dragon BOat races and see how you can maybe join them it is a lot of fun and good exercise.

Hoda said...

We also had a thirty something tourist jump off the ferry connecting the east shore to the west shore of Kootenay lake...she is a tourist and no motive given as to why she climbed over two sets of railing to prevent such things from happening...the fished her out in four minutes and the RCMP has taken custody of her...pending a menatal health evaluation as they have invoked the Mental Health Act...She will have to stay in the hospital for a month so they can give her a thorough goig through...

stronghunter said...

Prayers, Hoda. Hope they get the fire out quickly.

Sounds like a good idea to keep the jumper hospitalized for awhile.

stronghunter said...

Lucky passed through the room awhile ago with a pink puffball in his mouth. Lordy, I hope he does not get wound up. Sometimes he gets high on the catnip in those things and meows crazily. Kathryn has to confiscate them in the middle of the night.

Hoda said...

Thanks SHIRLEY.

I hope LUCKY is OK too.

stronghunter said...

Oh, Lucky is okay. He just gets a little crazy on catnip sometimes.

Judie said...

Hi everyone,

Hoda, so sorry about the fires and the the jumper. The fires worry me more about you. The jumper will be okay.

Lolly, glad the shower was picture perfect.

Shirley, I cannot in my wildest imagination think of you being so rude as to continue to paint when guests are arriving. Do what you can and promise the completed remake next time around.

Seems everyone else has had a very nice afternoon and evening.

Speaking of rude, the sandperson just threw sleep dust into my eyes and harumphed out the door. So,the night light is on for anyone who may need to arise in the night and to make sure Margy arrives safely to her roost. Restful sleep for all. Prayers for GG.

JudyEddy said...

Good night, Judie.

I could not pull off painting as guests are arriving. I was amused at the woman who did that. We sat down and had something to drink, and watched her, as I recall. It was interesting.

stronghunter said...

She stopped painting when everyone had arrived. I got the impression she was "hooked" on painting the borders and couldn't stop.

Hoda said...

It is all good there is a road west out of town...it is five miles east from me and no wind tonight and the helicopters are still going...we are all keeping a close eye on it and no evacuation order was given...Thanks for your prayers...keep them coming.

Hoda, are you saying that there is a road west out of town to use as an escape route? Oh my. Please keep us posted.

Lolly said...

A storm passed by this evening. We got the far edge of the storm. We about .35 an inch of rain. Guess it is best we missed the main part as there is lots of wind damage. Wind gusts up to 80 mph.

Sorry you have a fire up that way, Hoda. We are starting up fires. Three west of us. I will try to find that fire map we had last summer.

JudyEddy said...

I DVRD the closing ceremonies as I did all the games I still have some of todays games to watch but wanted to watch the ceremonies still watching since I was a hour late watching it on DVR

Hoda said...

Thanks JUDYE this is a local paper and it updates on line.

Thanks MARGY I am better from last night's/ yesterday's dehydration with a touch of heat stroke. Staying hydrated and electro lights were boosted with a coconut drink today.

SHIRLEY we have two roads out of town an east road, fire is five miles out of Nelson east...there is also a west road and it is clear...so if need be we would head west. Yet the town is not threatened just yet. The skies are smokey and the helicpters are still up. I do not presume they can keep going for much longer as it is getting darker...I am worried about my friends who live out in five miles and east miles locations. The whole north shore is very fancy residential area...

Very tired and need to call it quits for the night. Tom may be dropping Hunter off bright and early. If he does, I have to take Hunter for his immunizations for school at 8:00 AM. If he does not, then I hope he is taking Hunter.

Depends on whether Tom has to be at work early or late. You would think he might know, but maybe not.

We had a very long day. 5 hours with GG and 2 hours visiting at GG's with our girls and JR.
GG was sooo happy to see our girls and of course, she LOVES JR (Denise's studmuffin:)

GG'S TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS:
Would not let aid help her with a bath, said "my daughter will help me when she comes". She was still in her street clothes from Friday's admittance. "Mom, why are you still in your clothes, where's your hospital gown?" "I need a bath and they won't let me do it here...do you think I could go home and get a bath then come back up here? I PROMISE I will come back". I finally got her to strip down in the bathroom and wipe off with those warm, packaged wash cloths and gave her some PJs that I brought from her house. Got her settled back into her bed and she said she felt much better
Her oxygen level is up to 91 which is not good but better than the 89 reading of Friday.
They supposedly are giving her Lasix to rid her of the fluid build up in her chest, but she did not go to the bathroom the whole 5 hours that we were up there...need to talk to the doctor about that tomorrow. She was going very frequently the past day and a half.
She got very out of breath just taking her 'pretend bath', so it looks like she will need more time to get well.
Good night my friends, prayers and love to your all♥

Hoda said...

Thanks SHIRLEY and JO.
It is quiet now. Thank you all for the prayers.

I will be thinking of you and HUNTER tomorrow SHIRLEY.

Hi, Everyone,

We ended up not going to the movies yesterday, but went to Panera Bread for lunch with Sis-in-law, then went back to her house, which has a/c. We watched some programs she had DVR'd, and enjoyed the a/c.

We got home pretty late last night, so just went to bed. Didn't make it here.

It was really hot and humid here again today. Yuck. It's 90 degrees in our kitchen tonight.

Prayers ongoing for GG! Just love her, and hope the doctors can get her fixed up, pronto! Prayers for Wanda and Capt. Gene, too.

Hoping and praying that Boomer will be OK. Prayers for DanaMo, too!

Well, need to get to bed. Early day tomorrow. Prayers have been said for everyone, every creature, and all our furbabies. Sleep well, all, with SED. God bless, and goodnight. Love all of you!

GOOD MORNING ! It is 4:30 a.m. local time and I have been up since 1:30. sick kid. She is now back asleep and of course, I can't sleep....so thought i'd pop in.

HODA: not sure about JOINING the dragon boat, but will try to check it out.....

Sending light that the fires may be out soon ....

Am trying to stay up about 2 hours at this point so I can call the boss and let her know I won't be in. Something about being up all night with a sick kid???

Then maybe I can lie down for a few hours

If I am sleeping when you all are up, have a beautiful day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good sunny Monday morning my eagle friends!! Only in the 60s for a change this morning and much lower humidity - wow, what a different feel when I took the dogs out! Tennis should be nice this AM!

Wanda, thanks for the update on GG - sounds like that lady really keeps you hopping!! Hope the docs find the right combination of meds to get rid of the fluid.

Janet, sorry to hear about Livy not feeling well! Hope it's just a 24 hr. thing. Also hope you can get some rest/sleep today!

Hoping DanaMo's Boomer had a good night at the emergency vet - wouldn't want to have to pay that bill!

Hoda, hope the wind keeps the fire away from you.

Lolly, glad that the shower was a success!

Shirley, happy wallpapering!

Paula, welcome home from your weekend in Paradise!

Hey Shar, how's that wrist coming along?

LOVED the Olympics recap and closing ceremonies last night (recorded the last hour and will have to watch that tonight) - very entertaining! I was disappointed that George Michael's performance was so weak - I loved him in the 80s!!

Have a good day all - nothing on my agenda but tennis and then I need to finish cleaning the upstairs - got hooked in a book yesterday and only got 1 bathroom cleaned.

She isn't guaranteed a place for Kindergarten if she attend Pre K at Plato

I told her to call the school and tell them she waited and being she didn't hear from them by the 10 she already register her there And to please keep her in mind for Kindergarten Angie is afraid she will be black balled if she says NO know ---what do you think

Lolly said...

Good morning!

Wanda, thanks for the update on GG. We are all concerned and keeping her and you in prayer.

Glad all of you are having pleasant weather. Still reaching 100 here each day. I hate August!!

Shirley, Joseph had to have 3 shots, but he just shrugs it off. Jacob on the other hand is something else!! But, he is 4 years younger. Laurel was glad he did not need immunizations this year.

Expecting them here later this morning for shopping. Yes, Grandmommy helps out. They live paycheck to paycheck. Thursday morning Laurel officially reports for school. We go get them Thursday morning and keep them until the following Thursday. Joseph has something at school that Friday and then they start school the following Monday. (Two weeks from today)

After they start school, Jack and I will start preparing for our trip to Canada.

If Plato is a better school and that is where you hope she goes to Kinder, go ahead and transfer her this year. Do not leave it up to a 4 yr old to make the decision. jmho
