Beautiful rain shower here - I was able to put all the hanging baskets out to where the rain could reach them. BUT
I don't think that Missy and Lil' Bro are enjoying the shower.

As difficult as it is to post this,
I have learned that my late brother-in-law's youngest sister has lost her battle with Cancer; died last night just before midnight. Dwain died April 8, she died last night. Was in her 50's.
We knew she was not going to survive, and we can only be comforted she is now at Peace, no more illness, no more pain.
Please keep this family in your prayers and thoughts, they can surely need it.

Thank You ♥

LOLLY I am thinking I could try to drive to Waterton National Park, which is Canada's answer to Glacier National Park... The drive from Waterton headed back into Galcier is breath taking...not to be done at sun set as it is blinding then...so many options and possibilites...I will see if I can drive part way to meet you...EXPLORING.
BANFF is now very crowded place. Have you looked at Canmore, adjacent to Banff and easily accessible to it...might be less costly. Kananasskis Country is also beautiful but away from Banff...There is no question the scenery in BANFF and LAKE LOUISE are breath taking...thre are day hikes you two can take and I am so very thrilled you are coming up to CANADA...♥HUGS♥

Jo so glad that changing the time of day you take the medicine has help. Where you don't become nausea from it. God Is Good!!! :)

So very happy that Charlie is going to get to feeling better. It will take a couple of weeks. Gallbladder surgery is going to help him. Keeping him and Carolyn in prayer for this.

Margy sorry to hear of Dwain's youngest sister. As you said; Peace, no mre illness, no more pain. Will be keeping family in prayers but also "YOU too"...((((hugs))))

wvgal_dana said...

Hoda your adventure to see and meet Lolly and Jack sounds so GREAT!!! :) I am so very happy for you!!! Keep us posted please♥

Mema Jo said...

Loon is off the nest - egg is visible - only one egg so far.

wvgal_dana said...

Love the sound the Loons make. When we went to Lake of Woods. Shirley knows where that is I'm sure. They have loons there and they are so beautiful.

Mema Jo said...

Margy Sorry to hear of Dwain's sister - Prayers for all the family. How strangely odd about their date of deaths. Surely they will be together.

Mema Jo said...

Looks as though there was a food drop
Anyone see it happen?
Missy has it But not doing to well tearing apart to eat...........

wvgal_dana said...

I picked up a great book today written by Billy Graham. It is a hard back was only 25 cents. Clean as a whistle :)

wvgal_dana said...

Loon off egg into water

Hoda said...

MARGY I agree with JO about the dates of the deaths...God rest her soul.PRAYERS for the family.

JO I do not think there was a drop of food. That piece Missy is working on is the left overs from the morning big fish that Belle brought over...she just tore over a big shunk...I did not see any new deliveries at any rate.

In comes Belle and missy turns around right away and whimpers protecting her food? Belle stoops...and is now digging in the nest...

Hoda said...

Missy leaves the food and Belle goes to it and tears bites to eat...Bro goes up for some and Missy is being fed now...

Hoda said...

Missy takes the fish and is eating at six now...so funny how Belle allows her to practice being a grown up...

Poof Belle.

Hoda said...

Eagle lands in the attic.

wvgal_dana said...

Food just brought into nest chick took it from parent.

Hoda said...

In comes Shep with food and a youngster takes it right away and Shep poofs on the nine branch I could see the wing stretch after he landed. Youngster does not know what to do with food...no eating happening...watching flight pattern...did Shep take off? I did not see it...

wvgal_dana said...

Chick on left has it can't tell what it is. I know the chick grabbed from parent. But what is it? I thought food..but it does not seem to be eating.????

wvgal_dana said...

Hoda good to see you above comment. That is what I am seeing. It is the youngest chick Bro that has it. Great commenting Hoda hugs

Hoda said...

I think it is Missy who has the food. Bro takes it and has a bite and Missy takes it right back

wvgal_dana said...

Hoda you and me we are on the same wave length here lol

wvgal_dana said...

Even thought Bro has it. He is not really pulling as if eating. Maybe he is trying to take small bites. Not for sure. I do know Missy keeps looking in that direction.

wvgal_dana said...

Missy ius moving closer to Bro and the food.

wvgal_dana said...

Evening all!

Jo, so happy to hear the continued good news about the kildeer nest! What a great learning experience for the kids!!

Margy, so sorry to hear about Dwain's sister. How did you respond to James's statement about his inner animal - have you ever given any thought to what your inner animal might be? I know I haven't!

Jewels, great news about Charlie, that he is now in good enough shape to get ready for his gallbladder surgery! I hope you continue to get signs from your mom that she is still close by!

Kay, hope the new brace will give you some pain relief until your surgery. I have been checking in on the Columbus falcons off and on but, the last few times, the 3 eggs have just been sitting there uncovered. When I switch to the ledge cam, I can see a falcon sitting close by. Also read on the blog that the male is currently MIA and there may be a new male in the territory. I'm wondering if the female has stopped incubating b/c she knows the eggs are not viable. That would be 2 years in a row.

I have spent a lot of time today thinking about tomorrow's date, I guess b/c I know Josh's surgery is tomorrow morning. I know it's also WVDana's birthday and Lynn's birthday. For many years, May 9th has been a very sad-happy day for me. My Dad died on May 9, 1984. A year and a half after Dad died, I started doing daycare for a little boy who, coincidentally, was born on May 9, 1983. So, on the day that I was so sad b/c my dad died, Travis's family was celebrating and wishing him a happy first birthday. When I wake up every May 9th, the first thing I always do is tell my dad that I miss him and then I wish Travis Andrew a happy birthday. It's a day that reminds me that the door to this world swings both ways - it lets some in and allows others to leave.

Need to call a few parents to let them know there are still 22 days of school left and their children are acting like idiots! Probably won't get back on the blog tonight, so I will say my goodnights now!

Prayers for Kay and for Carolyn and Christie. ♥

Steve is home from his camping trip, YAY! They had a really nice time but he's glad to be home.

He came back with distressing news, however. So I have to WHINE!! That campground where we go is so awesome. Private, beautiful, inexpensive...

It's "rough" camping in that there is no bathhouse or anything, but if you are staying there, you can use the facilities at the next campground over for showers.

But with budget cuts, he said they no longer have WATER! The pump is shut down. You have to take your own water in, and that is a big inconvenience. Even in a weekend, you use about 5 gallons just washing faces, brushing teeth, doing dishes, making coffee, cooking, etc. OK, not SO bad....

THEN he tells me that they have removed the dumpsters as well!!! Now you have to pack your trash and take it out with you! There are ANIMALS in the forest, and you just can't keep trash around overnight. So what, you put it in your CAR?? Most of it would be food sort of trash...bags, cans, etc. of food we take. UGH! Not to mention my wonderful Luggable Loo! Am I now expected to keep my waste in the car all weekend and then drive home with it??? And the doggie waste, too???

I feel bad for the families that tent camp that may not be aware of the new changes!! Can you imagine?

So very disappointing. I'm going to call tomorrow and see if campers at our place can take trash to the next camp over. It's nice there, too, but more crowded and twice as much per night to camp.

Of course the good news, such as it is, is that instead of $15 a night at our place, they've lowered the rate to $10.

WHINE WHINE WHINE

OK thank you for letting me vent. I'm done now!

Hello Dear Friends. I wanted to try & get on Blog at work, but 'puter went kapooey again.
I kept watching treetops in AM, but didn't see an oriole. Saw a male towhee that flew away, chickadees going in and out of the bluebird house, and we saw a tufted titmouse with no tuft! Maybe a juvie!?Have to check it out. But the star of the day is a bird couple who may have been at Park last year. Male has some strange habits! Working on pics I and Greg K. took, but gotta eat din din. ☺
Hope everyone had a great day! BBL

Next year I hope to buy some more of these raised beds. It was really easy to do but i'd love to have room for some cukes and maybe some squash. I was even thinking about doing one with just roses........

Good evening,

I am sorry, but I am far behind tonight. The power to the basement outlets went out, which meant that we lost our network. I couldn't fix it and had to wait for Will to come home.

I did talk to Rus, and he is doing fine after his cataract surgery. He was cooking his dinner as we were talking.

Kathryn's surgery is tomorrow, and we spent some time this evening just talking. Susan will be here sometime tomorrow, and she and Will should be able to hold the fort down and take care of Hunter.

Kathryn is going to write a note saying that Will, Susan, or maybe Kathryn's friend Traci will pick Hunter up at school tomorrow.

Glad Rus is doing well Shirley!

I will go eat my artichoke that I cooked before yoga and now it will hit the spot just right.

Loretta, the Summer Tanagers are beautiful! Love their story. Great pictures!

Judie, speaking of summer, bet you can't wait! Counting the days with you!

Well, I've been really sleepy today, so going to call it a night.
Have said prayers for everyone, especially those having surgery tomorrow, and Carolyn, Christie, and all of Lynn's family. Love you, ♥Lynn♥!! The porch light is on. Both security systems have been enabled. Sleep well, all y'all. God bless, and goodnight.
Love all of you! I love ♥us♥!!

Good Morning Eagle Pals....

Have a few very main thoughts on my mind and in my heart today...

Thinking of Lynn♥ on this very special day, the day she arrived on the Planet and at that moment began to bring years and years of joy, comfort, encouragement and many superlative things to so many, including bringing into the world her Two Fabulous Daughters Carolyn and Christie ♥♥

Happy Birthday Lynn xoxo♥

and, I have prayers for all medical procedures on the schedule....God Bless the Medical Teams, may they bring healing and relief where it is needed

magpie said...

and Best Wishes to Every One for a good day, will try to look-see during the day,
but am at work, and have much to do...

Thank you to all for your words of comfort on the loss of my brother in law's youngest sister...she was a great animal lover, believe me, and had several wonderful cats....they are going to be in good homes, for sure, no doubt...

Judie said...

Good morning.

So much to catch up on.

Glad Rus had successful cataract removal and will be thinking of Kathryn today. Both will be just fine.

Andy, thank you for the condensed blog-a-thon. Hope Emma's better.

Margy, so very sorry about Dwain's sister. Your family has been through quite a rough time. However, James the Wise seems to have turned into a budding Carl Jung with his inner animal.

Jo, so happy you are feeling better and that Joseph's efforts to nurture the Kildeer eggs is a success.

Lynne2 - not a camper, never was a camper, and now will never be a camper. Camping to me is the Ritz Carlton, lol.

Great news about Harmon's reunion with parents. Nice video on MB.

Today begins final grade calculation day. Requires care as students get a bit grumpy when grades are miscalculated.

Most important of all: Thinking of Lynn on her birthday♥

Okay, so May 9 has officially become one of the worst dates in history.

Dear friend, Lynn's, birthday.

Love of my life, Jim Farley, died 19 years ago today.

One of my dearest friends ever, Patty G., died 4 years ago today.

On the upside, the wedding is 1 month from today and today is National Train Day. I am sure not exactly how it is intended but I will take it! Every day is Train day for me! :)

Morning, The sadness in my heart today
is the loss of my wonderful caring friend, Lynn. I still talk to her and sometimes I even start to send her an email - then I catch my fingers and stop. I really miss her presence in my life and we all miss her here with her blog family and friends. Her passing has given me new friends - her daughters. Such wonderful girls that Lynn raised. I can only pray that the example Lynn showed in her life rubbed off on me. ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Killdeer Nest news for May 9th:

Some sad news ....went up to check on the nest and something ate the eggs!!! First lesson for today: we were blessed to see the being stages of a killdeers' life and the making of a nest but that is the circle of life and the nature of the beast. The kids are sad ....but she could still lay possibly 2 more eggs?!! Always on the sunny side!!
We tried! And that is all that really matters:) we'll keep you posted!
