I'm with everybody about no more sad endings. As a matter of fact, I refuse to even go to the MN eagle cam site b/c I don't want to know if things aren't going well. At times, there is something to be said for sticking your fingers in your ears and loudly announcing, "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!" Juvenile maybe, but heck, I'm a middle school teacher! Sometimes, the kids have the right idea!

CA Jordyn go a bloody nose in her bouncy house last years also got at good picture of it This year she sort of did a bouncy house burn on the slide ODD it had a hole in it this year at the part of the tube that comes off the blower and it still worked great They didn't know about the hole until they set it up It came with patches years ago so they patched it when they took it down Loved the pictures of Mia how old is she again She is beautiful in the dance outfit. I see poka dots in the eagle feathers
It is amazing how each eaglet grows into a distinct personality. One would think - a bird is a bird - but not our eagles.
RE: the party - REALLY it wasn't a wild free for all. Just several 3 to 8 yr olds, that didn't hesitate to start playing & cooperating and having a ball. Not a bashful one amongst them. All the opps & owies were accidental. Everyone had a good time, really!!
I hate to even mention Bubby is home early -- not feeling well - sore, scratchy throat -- good golly :o(
JudyE - Mia will be 6 on June 4th. We'll be celebrating her birthday & her little sisters 1 yr birthday together on the 19th. She'll have a friends pool party on her "real" birthday.

It is very sad, and causing a lot of emotions. I am quite sure the Raptor Center folks will get him if the parents don't come back. But I'd hate to be in THERE shoes right about now....trying to weigh out the possibilities of knowing he'd be OK food wise and weather wise for another night, versus the real danger of him being swooped up by something. I am no expert, but I think if the parents haven't come back by now, they might not come back at all. Seems odd they are still in the area but not attending to the baby....

Hello Hello!!! Guess you know Harmon's folks finally returned! YAAAAAAAA I couldn't sign in on chat--maybe 'cuz over 9000 on it?? I can't believe it! Some good luck! Loretta if you can't get the Minnesota cam on IE. What browser are you using. Try Chrome Google it downloads free uncheck the want as default browser. It will bring up the cam for you.

I gave Steve our rent check and asked him to take it over to the landlord's (new) house up the road, and put in in their mailbox. And so he did. Today I got an email from his wife asking where the rent check was.
I called the local post office to see if it was in the dead letter file. But the mail goes directly to the main post office in Baltimore, where it seems there are no live people with whom to speak.
I'm glad they waived the fee...it's $31!! Geesh....she asked for the check number and amount and then asked if I was replacing it, and took the check number and amount for the replacement check.
She'll probably be flying to the Bahamas with my money by this time tomorrow....

Getting on the end of the school year here in Nashville. Last day is the 24th. Lead Academy has begun to take the 5th graders to visit colleges. Today Olivia will be visiting Vanderbilt University. I like this idea, makes college more approachable, more friendly and maybe more attainable to kids.
They will visit 3 total colleges in the next 2 weeks.
We have had rain, which is great. My tiny garden appears to be doing well. My cherry tree I planted not so well. Its not dead so there's hope.

Good morning all. Happy Ending s are the best as in MN situation. Thousands of prayers answered indeed. New beginnings are wonderful as in American Eagle Foundation special needs eagle pair and there 3 little ones. Last one hatched just before 5 am. They will probably have the last eaglet to fledge on an online camera for this season . Why not take a peak. Warning you may get hooked very fast BUT none of them will fall, starve gt eaten by fox or hit by a plane. That works for me. Our nest is awesome this season and such a refreshing relief indeed. Ok off to coffee and dog treats. Hugs and prayers for all.

Rus had mentioned that he would be having cataract surgery soon, but I did not remember the date, so I messaged him awhile back, but he never answered. So, yesterday he posted on FB that it is today.
I called him a few minutes ago, just as he was getting ready to leave for the clinic. He says he will just be missing a couple of days of work and is not supposed to do heavy lifting, but there are no other restrictions.

Yesterday there were 3 eggs in the nest! Joseph put a big sign in the driveway....the ups man stopped& walked up the packages- jo was thrilled! I was taking pictures and the mama was on gaurd and ready to attack...so I snapped a few a her. Woke up this morning to rain and today there are 4 eggs! Once the rain stops I'll take pictures of jo's sign and the 4 eggs:) patience!!!! I'll keep you posted! Love to you all!!
Oh Jo, this is really neat !!, what an experience and adventure for the kids, and when the eggs hatch, the birds look like mini-killdeer pretty quickly I think.. hve they seen the "broken wing" act? I might have missed that in a prior post over the last few days.

Mom making a nest bowl for Harmon, think he wants to squeeze under her.....the clicking is the cam trying to adjust to night vision, then it will turn off in about 5 minutes...it is totally solar powered.
Oh and they left about 5 or 6 fish heads when they put Harmon back yesterday.

I gave Steve our rent check and asked him to take it over to the landlord's (new) house up the road, and put in in their mailbox. And so he did. Today I got an email from his wife asking where the rent check was.
UH OH.
I emailed back and told her.
What did I forget to do???
I forgot to TELL her he put it in the mailbox. She is many things, but a mind reader is not one of them.
It was in a small envelope, sealed, with only their last name on it.
Apparently, the mail person took it as outgoing mail.
DUH.
I called the local post office to see if it was in the dead letter file. But the mail goes directly to the main post office in Baltimore, where it seems there are no live people with whom to speak.
So, I am caught up, but in my speed reading I may have missed a few details....
SHIRLEY - Kathryn's surgery will be to remove the gallbladder? If so, so happy she got a diagnosis and will be getting relief soon!
CAROLYN - Speaking of gallbladder, is Charlie having surgery any time soon?
SANDI - Will keep Josh in my prayers. I can just sense his anxiety. Poor thing!
JO - Sure hope that new medicine does miracles for you!! Hope the nausea passes pronto!

A quick good morning to one and to all. Looks like eveyone is up and moving today.
Getting on the end of the school year here in Nashville. Last day is the 24th. Lead Academy has begun to take the 5th graders to visit colleges. Today Olivia will be visiting Vanderbilt University. I like this idea, makes college more approachable, more friendly and maybe more attainable to kids.
They will visit 3 total colleges in the next 2 weeks.
We have had rain, which is great. My tiny garden appears to be doing well. My cherry tree I planted not so well. Its not dead so there's hope.

New beginnings are wonderful as in American Eagle Foundation special needs eagle pair and there 3 little ones. Last one hatched just before 5 am. They will probably have the last eaglet to fledge on an online camera for this season . Why not take a peak. Warning you may get hooked very fast BUT none of them will fall, starve gt eaten by fox or hit by a plane. That works for me. Our nest is awesome this season and such a refreshing relief indeed. Ok off to coffee and dog treats. Hugs and prayers for all.

Rus had mentioned that he would be having cataract surgery soon, but I did not remember the date, so I messaged him awhile back, but he never answered. So, yesterday he posted on FB that it is today.
I called him a few minutes ago, just as he was getting ready to leave for the clinic. He says he will just be missing a couple of days of work and is not supposed to do heavy lifting, but there are no other restrictions.
Hoping that it will be that uncomplicated.

Lastest Update from Hedgesville Killdeer Nest..............
Yesterday there were 3 eggs in the nest! Joseph put a big sign in the driveway....the ups man stopped& walked up the packages- jo was thrilled!
I was taking pictures and the mama was on gaurd and ready to attack...so I snapped a few a her.
Woke up this morning to rain and today there are 4 eggs! Once the rain stops I'll take pictures of jo's sign and the 4 eggs:) patience!!!!
